Luke 16

And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.പിന്നെ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യന്നു ഒരു കാര്യവിചാരകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അവന്റെ വസ്തുവക നാനാവിധമാക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലർ അവനെ കുറ്റം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of you? give an account of your stewardship; for you may be no longer steward.അവൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഈ കേൾക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിന്റെ കണക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക; നീ ഇനി കാര്യവിചാരകനായിരിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord takes away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.എന്നാറെ കാര്യവിചാരകൻ: ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? യജമാനൻ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു എന്നെ നീക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നു; കിളെപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല; ഇരപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നാണിക്കുന്നു.

I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.എന്നെ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിയാൽ അവർ എന്നെ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിൽ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു എനിക്കു അറിയാം എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owe you unto my lord?പിന്നെ അവൻ യജമാനന്റെ കടക്കാരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തനെ വരുത്തി ഒന്നാമത്തവനോടു: നീ യജമാനന്നു എത്ര കടംപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take your bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.നൂറു കുടം എണ്ണ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനോടു: നിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി വേഗം ഇരുന്നു അമ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said he to another, And how much owe you? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take your bill, and write fourscore.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടു: നീ എത്ര കടം പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. നൂറു പറ കോതമ്പു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു; അവനോടു: നിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി എണ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.ഈ അനീതിയുള്ള കാര്യവിചാരകൻ ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു യജമാനൻ അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി; വെളിച്ചമക്കളെക്കാൾ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറയിൽ ബുദ്ധിയേറിയവരല്ലോ.

And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when all of you fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.അനീതിയുള്ള മമ്മോനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. അതു ഇല്ലാതെയാകുമ്പോൾ അവർ നിത്യകൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ നിങ്ങളെ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ ഇടയാകും.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.അത്യല്പത്തിൽ വിശ്വസ്തനായവൻ അധികത്തിലും വിശ്വസ്തൻ; അത്യല്പത്തിൽ നീതികെട്ടവൻ അധികത്തിലും നീതി കെട്ടവൻ.

If therefore all of you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?നിങ്ങൾ അനീതിയുള്ള മമ്മോനിൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കിൽ സത്യമായതു നിങ്ങളെ ആർ ഭരമേല്പിക്കും?

And if all of you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?അന്യമായതിൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്വന്തമായതു ആർ തരും?

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. All of you cannot serve God and mammon.രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാൻ ഒരു ഭൃത്യന്നും കഴികയില്ല; അവൻ ഒരുവനെ പകെച്ചു മറ്റവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരുത്തനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേർന്നു മറ്റവനെ നിരസിക്കും. നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൈവത്തെയും മമ്മോനെയും സേവിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല.

And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.ഇതൊക്കെയും ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികളായ പരീശന്മാർ കേട്ടു അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.

And he said unto them, All of you are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീതീകരിക്കുന്നവർ ആകുന്നു; ദൈവമോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം അറിയുന്നു; മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉന്നതമായതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അറെപ്പത്രേ.

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presses into it.ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും കാലം യോഹന്നാൻ വരെ ആയിരുന്നു; അന്നുമുതൽ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ സുവിശേഷിച്ചുവരുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും ബലാൽക്കാരേണ അതിൽ കടപ്പാൻ നോക്കുന്നു.

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഒരു പുള്ളി വീണുപോകുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതു എളുപ്പം.

Whosoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery: and whosoever marries her that is put away from her husband commits adultery.ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭർത്താവു ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:ധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ധൂമ്രവസ്ത്രവും പട്ടും ധരിച്ചു ദിനമ്പ്രതി ആഡംബരത്തോടെ സുഖിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,ലാസർ എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു ദരിദ്രൻ വ്രണം നിറഞ്ഞവനായി അവന്റെ പടിപ്പുരക്കൽ കിടന്നു

And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.ധനവാന്റെ മേശയിൽ നിന്നു വീഴുന്നതു തിന്നു വിശപ്പടക്കുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു; നായ്ക്കളും വന്നു അവന്റെ വ്രണം നക്കും.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;ആ ദരിദ്രൻ മരിച്ചപ്പോൾ ദൂതന്മാർ അവനെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മടിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham far off, and Lazarus in his bosom.ധനവാനും മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു; പാതാളത്തിൽ യാതന അനുഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ മേലോട്ടു നോക്കി ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ മടിയിൽ ലാസരിനെയും കണ്ടു:

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.അബ്രാഹാംപിതാവേ, എന്നോടു കനിവുണ്ടാകേണമേ; ലാസർ വിരലിന്റെ അറ്റം വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുക്കി എന്റെ നാവിനെ തണുപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ അയക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ ഈ ജ്വാലയിൽ കിടന്നു വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.അബ്രാഹാം: മകനേ, നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിൽ നീ നന്മയും ലാസർ അവ്വണ്ണം തിന്മയും പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു ഓർക്ക; ഇപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഇവിടെ ആശ്വസിക്കുന്നു: നീയോ വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു.

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from behind to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.അത്രയുമല്ല ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും നടുവെ വലിയോരു പിളർപ്പുണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവിടെ നിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കടന്നുവരുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവർക്കു കഴിവില്ല; അവിടെനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കടന്നു വരുവാനും പാടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then he said, I pray you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house:അതിന്നു അവൻ: എന്നാൽ പിതാവേ, അവനെ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ അയക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു;

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.എനിക്കു അഞ്ചു സഹോദരന്മാർ ഉണ്ടു; അവരും ഈ യാതനാസ്ഥലത്തു വരാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവൻ അവരോടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Abraham says unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.അബ്രാഹാം അവനോടു: അവർക്കു മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവരുടെ വാക്കു അവർ കേൾക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.അതിന്നു അവൻ: അല്ലല്ല, അബ്രാഹാം പിതാവേ, മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവർ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.അവൻ അവനോടു: അവർ മോശെയുടെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വാക്കു കേൾക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ചെന്നാലും വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Luke 17

Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!അവൻ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ഇടർച്ചകൾ വരാതിരിക്കുന്നതു അസാദ്ധ്യം; എങ്കിലും അവ വരുത്തുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം.

It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.അവൻ ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുത്തന്നു ഇടർച്ച വരുത്തുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ ഒരു തിരിക്കല്ലു അവന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ കെട്ടി അവനെ കടലിൽ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുന്നതു അവന്നു നന്നു.

Take heed to yourselves: If your brother trespass against you, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; സഹോദരൻ പിഴച്ചാൽ അവനെ ശാസിക്ക; അവൻ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടാൽ അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്ക.

And if he trespass against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day return to you, saying, I repent; you shall forgive him.ദിവസത്തിൽ ഏഴുവട്ടം നിന്നോടു പിഴെക്കയും ഏഴുവട്ടവും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ഞാൻ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്താൽ അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്ക.

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ കർത്താവിനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വിശ്വാസം വർദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചുതരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the Lord said, If all of you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, all of you might say unto this sycamine tree, Be you plucked up by the root, and be you planted in the sea; and it should obey you.അതിന്നു കർത്താവു പറഞ്ഞതു: “നിങ്ങൾക്കു കടകുമണിയോളം വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഈ കാട്ടത്തിയോടു: വേരോടെ പറിഞ്ഞു കടലിൽ നട്ടുപോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അതു നിങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കും.

But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he has come from the field, Go and sit down to food?നിങ്ങളിൽ ആർക്കെങ്കിലും ഉഴുകയോ മേയ്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ദാസൻ ഉണ്ടെന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ. അവൻ വയലിൽനിന്നു വരുമ്പോൾ: നീ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ വന്നു ഊണിന്നു ഇരിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറയുമോ? അല്ല:

And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird yourself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward you shall eat and drink?എനിക്കു അത്താഴം ഒരുക്കുക; ഞാൻ തിന്നുകുടിച്ചു തീരുവോളം അരകെട്ടി എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്ക; പിന്നെ നീയും തിന്നു കുടിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I I think not not.തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ദാസൻ ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു നന്ദിപറയുമോ?

So likewise all of you, when all of you shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are useless servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തശേഷം: ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രയോജനം ഇല്ലാത്ത ദാസന്മാർ; ചെയ്യേണ്ടതേ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളു എന്നു നിങ്ങളും പറവിൻ.

And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്രചെയ്കയിൽ ശമര്യക്കും ഗലീലെക്കും നടുവിൽകൂടി കടക്കുമ്പോൾ

And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood far off:ഒരു ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുന്നേരം കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളായ പത്തു പുരുഷന്മാർ അവന്നു എതിർപെട്ടു

And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.അകലെ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു: യേശൂ, നായക, ഞങ്ങളോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകേണമേ എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.അവൻ അവരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു: “നിങ്ങൾ പോയി പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കു നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ കാണിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; പോകയിൽ തന്നേ അവർ ശുദ്ധരായ്തീർന്നു.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ തനിക്കു സൌഖ്യംവന്നതു കണ്ടു ഉച്ചത്തിൽ ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ കവിണ്ണു വീണു അവന്നു നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞു;

And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.അവനോ ശമര്യക്കാരൻ ആയിരുന്നു

And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?“പത്തുപേർ ശുദ്ധരായ്തീർന്നില്ലയോ? ഒമ്പതുപേർ എവിടെ?

There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.ഈ അന്യജാതിക്കാരനല്ലാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം കൊടുപ്പാൻ മടങ്ങിവന്നവരായി ആരെയും കാണുന്നില്ലല്ലോ ” എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവനോടു:

And he said unto him, Arise, go your way: your faith has made you whole.“എഴുന്നേറ്റു പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation:ദൈവരാജ്യം എപ്പോൾ വരുന്നു എന്നു പരീശന്മാർ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: “ദൈവരാജ്യം കാണത്തക്കവണ്ണമല്ല വരുന്നതു;

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.ഇതാ ഇവിടെ എന്നും അതാ അവിടെ എന്നും പറകയും ഇല്ല; ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ തന്നേ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ ”എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when all of you shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and all of you shall not see it.പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ ഒരു ദിവസം കാണ്മാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരും;

And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.കാണുകയില്ലതാനും. അന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു: ഇതാ ഇവിടെ എന്നും അതാ അവിടെ എന്നും പറയും; നിങ്ങൾ പോകരുതു, പിൻചെല്ലുകയുമരുതു.

²⁴

For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.മിന്നൽ ആകാശത്തിങ്കീഴെ ദിക്കോടുദിക്കെല്ലാം തിളങ്ങി മിന്നുന്നതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ തന്റെ ദിവസത്തിൽ ആകും.

But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.എന്നാൽ ആദ്യം അവൻ വളരെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും ഈ തലമുറ അവനെ തള്ളിക്കളകയും വേണം.

And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.നോഹയുടെ കാലത്തു സംഭവിച്ചതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ നാളിലും ഉണ്ടാകും.

They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.നോഹ പെട്ടകത്തിൽ കടന്ന നാൾവരെ അവർ തിന്നും കുടിച്ചും വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചും വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുത്തും പോന്നു; ജലപ്രളയം വന്നു, അവരെ എല്ലാവരെയും മുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;ലോത്തിന്റെ കാലത്തു സംഭവിച്ചതുപോലെയും തന്നേ; അവർ തിന്നും കുടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടും വിറ്റും നട്ടും പണിതും പോന്നു.

But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.എന്നാൽ ലോത്ത് സൊദോം വിട്ട നാളിൽ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീയും ഗന്ധകവും പെയ്തു എല്ലാവരെയും മുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വെളിപ്പെടുന്ന നാളിൽ അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ആകും.

In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.അന്നു വീട്ടിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവൻ വീട്ടിന്നകത്തുള്ള സാധനം എടുപ്പാൻ ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു; അവ്വണം വയലിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവനും പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയരുതു.

Remember Lot's wife.ലോത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ഓർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ.

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.തന്റെ ജീവനെ നേടുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം അതിനെ കളയും; അതിനെ കളയുന്നവനെല്ലാം അതിനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.ആ രാത്രിയിൽ രണ്ടുപേർ ഒരു കിടക്കമേൽ ആയിരിക്കും; ഒരുത്തനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളും; മറ്റവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കും.

Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.രണ്ടുപേർ ഒന്നിച്ചു പൊടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും; ഒരുത്തിയെ കൈക്കൊള്ളും;

Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.മറ്റവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കും (രണ്ടുപേർ വയലിൽ ഇരിക്കും; ഒരുത്തനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളും; മറ്റവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കും)” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where ever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.അവർ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: “ശവം ഉള്ളേടത്തു കഴുക്കൾ കൂടും” എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

Luke 18

And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;“മടുത്തുപോകാതെ എപ്പോഴും പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കേണം” എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു ഒരുപമ പറഞ്ഞതു:

Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:ദൈവത്തെ ഭയവും മനുഷ്യനെ ശങ്കയുമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ന്യായാധിപൻ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.ആ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ഒരു വിധവയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: എന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടു പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;അവന്നു കുറേ കാലത്തേക്കു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവൻ: എനിക്കു ദൈവത്തെ ഭയവും മനുഷ്യനെ ശങ്കയുമില്ല

Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.എങ്കിലും വിധവ എന്നെ അസഹ്യമാക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവളെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവൾ ഒടുവിൽ വന്നു എന്നെ മുഖത്തടിക്കും എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says.അനീതിയുള്ള ന്യായാധിപൻ പറയുന്നതു കേൾപ്പിൻ.

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?ദൈവമോ രാപ്പകൽ തന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്ന തന്റെ വൃതന്മാരുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ദീർഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവൻ ആയാലും അവരെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കയില്ലയോ?

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?വേഗത്തിൽ അവരെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. എന്നാൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വരുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടെത്തുമോ ” എന്നു കർത്താവു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he spoke this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:തങ്ങൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്നു ഉറെച്ചു മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ധിക്കരിക്കുന്ന ചിലരെക്കുറിച്ചു അവൻ ഒരു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.രണ്ടു മനുഷ്യർ പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പാൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ പോയി; ഒരുത്തൻ പരീശൻ, മറ്റവൻ ചുങ്കക്കാരൻ.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank you, that I am not as other men are, extortionists, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.പരീശൻ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു തന്നോടു തന്നെ: ദൈവമേ, പിടിച്ചുപറിക്കാർ, നീതികെട്ടവർ, വ്യഭിചാരികൾ മുതലായ ശേഷം മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെയോ ഈ ചുങ്കക്കാരനെപ്പോലെയോ ഞാൻ അല്ലായ്കയാൽ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു.

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.ആഴ്ചയിൽ രണ്ടുവട്ടം ഉപവസിക്കുന്നു; നേടുന്നതിൽ ഒക്കെയും പതാരം കൊടുത്തുവരുന്നു; എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

And the publican, standing far off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but stroke upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.ചുങ്കക്കാരനോ ദൂരത്തു നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു നോക്കുവാൻപോലും തുനിയാതെ മാറത്തടിച്ചു: ദൈവമേ, പാപിയായ എന്നോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalts himself shall be brought low; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.അവൻ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനായി വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി; മറ്റവൻ അങ്ങനെയല്ല. തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയർത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.അവൻ തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു ചിലർ ശിശുക്കളെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അതുകണ്ടു അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു.

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.യേശുവോ അവരെ അരികത്തു വിളിച്ചു: “പൈതങ്ങളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ വിടുവിൻ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുതു; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടേതു ആകുന്നു.

Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ശിശുഎന്നപോലെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാത്തവൻ ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?ഒരു പ്രമാണി അവനോടു: നല്ല ഗുരോ, ഞാൻ നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Jesus said unto him, Why call you me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.അതിന്നു യേശു: “എന്നെ നല്ലവൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലാതെ നല്ലവൻ ആരും ഇല്ല. വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു:

You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour your father and your mother.കുല ചെയ്യരുതു; മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു; കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു; നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നീ കല്പനകളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.ഇവ ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ ചെറുപ്പംമുതൽ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടിട്ടു

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lack you one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute unto the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.യേശു: “ഇനി ഒരു കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ടു; നിനക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രന്മാർക്കു പകുത്തുകൊടുക്ക; എന്നാൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിനക്കു നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.അവൻ എത്രയും ധനവാനാകകൊണ്ടു ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അതിദുഃഖതിനായിത്തീർന്നു.

And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!യേശു അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു: “സമ്പത്തുള്ളവർ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം!

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.ധനവാൻ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?ഇതു കേട്ടവർ: എന്നാൽ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ ആർക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.അതിന്നു അവൻ: “മനുഷ്യരാൽ അസാദ്ധ്യമായതു ദൈവത്താൽ സാദ്ധ്യമാകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed you.ഇതാ ഞങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തമായതു വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പത്രൊസ് പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,യേശു അവരോടു: “ദൈവരാജ്യം നിമിത്തം വീടോ ഭാര്യയെയോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെയോ മക്കളെയോ വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു

Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.ഈ കാലത്തിൽ തന്നേ പല മടങ്ങായും വരുവാനുള്ള ലോകത്തിൽ നിത്യജീവനെയും പ്രാപിക്കാത്തവൻ ആരും ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളാടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.അനന്തരം അവൻ പന്തിരുവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടു: “ഇതാ നാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രവാചകന്മാർ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം നിവൃത്തിയാകും.

For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully pleaded, and spitted on:അവനെ ജാതികൾക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും അവർ അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു അവമാനിച്ചു തുപ്പി തല്ലീട്ടു കൊല്ലുകയും

And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.മൂന്നാം നാൾ അവൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.അവരോ ഇതു ഒന്നും ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; ഈ വാക്കു അവർക്കു മറവായിരുന്നു; പറഞ്ഞതു അവർ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:അവൻ യെരീഹോവിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ ഒരു കുരുടൻ ഇരന്നുകൊണ്ടു വഴിയരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.പുരുഷാരം കടന്നു പോകുന്നതു കേട്ടു: ഇതെന്തു എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.

And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passes by.നസറായനായ യേശു കടന്നുപോകുന്നു എന്നു അവർ അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And he cried, saying, Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: യേശുവേ, ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, You son of David, have mercy on me.മുൻനടക്കുന്നവർ അവനെ മിണ്ടാതിരിപ്പാൻ ശാസിച്ചു; അവനോ: ദിവീദുപുത്രാ എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചു.

And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,യേശു നിന്നു, അവനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

Saying, What will you that I shall do unto you? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.അവൻ അടുക്കെ വന്നപ്പോൾ: “ഞാൻ നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു”. കർത്താവേ, എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച കിട്ടേണം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said unto him, Receive your sight: your faith has saved you.യേശു അവനോടു: “കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്ക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അവൻ കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വീകരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു; ജനം എല്ലാം കണ്ടിട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു പുകഴ്ച കൊടുത്തു.
