Jeremiah 37

And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ മകനായ കൊന്യാവിന്നു പകരം യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവു രാജാവായി; അവനെ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു രാജാവാക്കിയിരുന്നു.

But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the LORD, which he spoke by the prophet Jeremiah.എന്നാൽ അവനാകട്ടെ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരാകട്ടെ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനമാകട്ടെ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചില്ല.

And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now unto the LORD our God for us.സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു ശെലെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹൂഖലിനെയും മയസേയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഫന്യാപുരോഹിതനെയും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു: നീ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു ഞങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി പക്ഷവാദം കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people: for they had not put him into prison.യിരെമ്യാവിന്നോ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ വരത്തുപോകൂണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവനെ തടവിലാക്കിയിരുന്നില്ല.

Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt: and when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem.ഫറവോന്റെ സൈന്യം മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന വർത്തമാനം യെരൂശലേമിനെ നിരോധിച്ചുപാർത്ത കല്ദയർ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവർ യെരൂശലേമിനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.

Then came the word of the LORD unto the prophet Jeremiah saying,അന്നു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall all of you say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which has come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ച യെഹൂദാരാജാവിനോടു നിങ്ങൾ പറയേണ്ടതു: നിങ്ങൾക്കു സഹായത്തിന്നായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഫറവോന്റെ സൈന്യം തങ്ങളുടെ ദേശമായ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.കല്ദയരോ മടങ്ങിവന്നു ഈ നഗരത്തോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും.

Thus says the LORD; Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart.യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: കല്ദയർ നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു നമ്മെ വിട്ടുപോകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിഞ്ചിക്കരുതു; അവർ വിട്ടുപോകയില്ല.

For though all of you had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.നിങ്ങളോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്യുന്ന കല്ദയരുടെ സർവ്വ സൈന്യത്തേയും നിങ്ങൾ തോല്പിച്ചിട്ടു, മുറിവേറ്റ ചിലർ മാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്നാലും അവർ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റുവന്നു ഈ നഗരത്തെ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും.

And it came to pass, that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,ഫറവോന്റെ സൈന്യംനിമിത്തം കല്ദയരുടെ സൈന്യം യെരൂശലേമിനെ വിട്ടുപോയപ്പോൾ

Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people.യിരെമ്യാവു ബെന്യാമീൻ ദേശത്തു ചെന്നു സ്വജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ തന്റെ ഓഹരി വാങ്ങുവാൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, You fall away to the Chaldeans.അവൻ ബെന്യാമീൻ വാതിൽക്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ, അവിടത്തെ കാവൽക്കാരുടെ അധിപതിയായി ഹനന്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ശെലെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ യിരീയാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവൻ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെ പിടിച്ചു: നീ കല്ദയരുടെ പക്ഷം ചേരുവാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു: അതു നേരല്ല, ഞാൻ കല്ദയരുടെ പക്ഷം ചേരുവാനല്ല പോകുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യിരീയാവു അതു കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ യിരെമ്യാവെ പിടിച്ചു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു.

Wherefore the princes were angry with Jeremiah, and stroke him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ യിരെമ്യാവോടു കോപിച്ചു അവനെ അടിച്ചു രായസക്കാരനായ യോനാഥാന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ തടവിൽ വെച്ചു; അതിനെ അവർ കാരാഗൃഹമാക്കിയിരുന്നു.

When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;അങ്ങനെ യിരെമ്യാവു കുണ്ടറയിലെ നിലവറകളിൽ ആയി അവിടെ ഏറെനാൾ പാർക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, you shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.അനന്തരം സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു ആളയച്ചു അവനെ വരുത്തി: യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു വല്ല അരുളപ്പാടും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു രാജാവു അരമനയിൽവെച്ചു അവനോടു രഹസ്യമായി ചോദിച്ചു; അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു: ഉണ്ടു; നീ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Moreover Jeremiah said unto king Zedekiah, What have I offended against you, or against your servants, or against this people, that all of you have put me in prison?പിന്നെ യിരെമ്യാവു സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ നിന്നോടോ നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടോ ഈ ജനത്തോടോ എന്തു കുറ്റം ചെയ്തു.

Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?ബാബേൽരാജാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെയും ഈ ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെയും വരികയില്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിച്ച നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാർ ഇപ്പോൾ എവിടെ?

Therefore hear now, I pray you, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray you, be accepted before you; that you cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.ആകയാൽ യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, കേൾക്കേണമേ! എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു കൈക്കൊള്ളേണമേ! ഞാൻ രായസക്കാരനായ യോനാഥാന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കിടന്നു മരിക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ വീണ്ടും അവിടെ അയക്കരുതേ.

Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.അപ്പോൾ സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു: യിരെമ്യാവെ കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു ഏല്പിപ്പാനും നഗരത്തിൽ ആഹാരം തീരെ ഇല്ലാതാകുംവരെ അപ്പക്കാരുടെ തെരുവിൽനിന്നു ദിവസം പ്രതി ഒരു അപ്പം അവന്നു കൊടുപ്പാനും കല്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ യിരെമ്യാവു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു പാർത്തു.

Jeremiah 38

Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ പാർക്കുന്നവൻ വാൾകൊണ്ടും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടും മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടും മരിക്കും; കല്ദയരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു ചേരുന്നവനോ ജീയവനോടെയിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ജീവൻ അവന്നു കൊള്ളകിട്ടിയതുപോലെയിരിക്കും; അവൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കും എന്നും യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:

Thus says the LORD, He that remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goes forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.ഈ നഗരം നിശ്ചയമായി ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും, അവൻ അതിനെ പിടിക്കും എന്നും

Thus says the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.യിരെമ്യാവു സകല ജനത്തോടും പ്രസ്താവിച്ച വചനങ്ങളെ മത്ഥാന്റെ മകനായ ശെഫത്യാവും പശ്ഹൂരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവും ശെലെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യൂഖലും മൽക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ പശ്ഹൂരും കേട്ടിട്ടു

Therefore the princes said unto the king, We plead to you, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ രാജാവിനോടു: ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ നഗരത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പടയാളികൾക്കും സർവ്വജനത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള വാക്കു പറഞ്ഞു ധൈര്യക്ഷയം വരുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നുകളയേണമേ; ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ നന്മയല്ല തിന്മയത്രേ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു: ഇതാ, അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാൻ രാജാവിന്നു കഴിവില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ പിടിച്ചു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു രാജകുമാരനായ മൽക്കീയാവിന്നുള്ള കുഴിയിൽ ഇറക്കി; കയറുകൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ ഇറക്കിയതു; കുഴിയിൽ ചെളിയല്ലാതെ വെള്ളമില്ലായിരുന്നു; യിരെമ്യാവു ചെളിയിൽ താണു.

Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്--മേലെക്ക് എന്ന ഷണ്ഡൻ കേട്ടു; അന്നു രാജാവു ബെന്യാമീൻ വാതിൽക്കൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

Ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spoke to the king saying,ഏബെദ്-മേലെക്ക് രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനോടു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അന്യായമത്രേ; അവർ അവനെ കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു; നഗരത്തിൽ അപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ അവൻ അവിടെ പട്ടിണികിടന്നു ചാകേയുള്ള എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from behind thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.രാജാവു കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്--മേലെക്കിനോടു: നീ ഇവിടെനിന്നു മുപ്പതു ആളുകളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു, യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മരിക്കുംമുമ്പെ അവനെ കുഴിയിൽനിന്നു കയറ്റിക്കൊൾക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.അങ്ങനെ ഏബെദ്--മേലെക്ക് ആയാളുകളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഭണ്ഡാരമുറിക്കു കീഴെ ചെന്നു അവിടെ നിന്നു പഴന്തുണിയും കീറ്റുതുണിക്കണ്ടങ്ങളും എടുത്തു കുഴിയിൽ യിരെമ്യാവിന്നു കയറുവഴി ഇറക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under yours armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്--മേലെക്ക് യിരെമ്യാവോടു: ഈ പഴന്തുണിയും കീറ്റുതുണിക്കണ്ടങ്ങളും നിന്റെ കക്ഷങ്ങളിൽ വെച്ചു അതിന്നു പുറമെ കയറിട്ടുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യിരെമ്യാവു അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു.

So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ കയറുകൊണ്ടു കുഴിയിൽനിന്നു വലിച്ചുകയറ്റി; യിരെമ്യാവു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു പാർത്തു.

Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask you a thing; hide nothing from me.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു ആളയച്ചു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ മൂന്നാം പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുത്തി; രാജാവു യിരെമ്യാവോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ഒരു കാര്യം ചോദിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു ഒന്നും മറെച്ചുവെക്കരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto you, will you not surely put me to death? and if I give you counsel, will you not hearken unto me?അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു സിദെക്കീയാവോടു: ഞാൻ അതു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചാൽ എന്നെ കൊല്ലുകയില്ലയോ? ഞാൻ ഒരു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു തന്നാൽ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So Zedekiah the king swore secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD lives, that made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men that seek your life.സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു: ഈ പ്രാണനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചുതന്ന യഹോവയാണ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുകയില്ല; നിനക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്ന ഈ മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഏല്പിക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു യിരെമ്യാവോടു രഹസ്യമായി സത്യംചെയ്തു.

Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If you will assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then your soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and you shall live, and yours house:എന്നാറെ യിരെമ്യാവു സിദെക്കീയാവോടു: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായി സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേൽ രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു ചെന്നാൽ നിനക്കു പ്രാണരക്ഷയുണ്ടാകും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളകയുമില്ല; നീയും നിന്റെ ഗൃഹവും ജീവനോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape out of their hand.നീ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു ചെല്ലാഞ്ഞാലോ ഈ നഗരം കല്ദയരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അവർ അതിനെ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും; നീ അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റിയൊഴികയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു യിരെമ്യാവോടു: കല്ദയർ എന്നെ അവരുടെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കയും അവർ എന്നെ അപമാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver you. Obey, I plead to you, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto you: so it shall be well unto you, and your soul shall live.അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു പറഞ്ഞതു: അവർ നിന്നെ ഏല്പിക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന യഹോയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കേണമേ; എന്നാൽ നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കും; നിനക്കു പ്രാണരക്ഷയുണ്ടാകും.

But if you refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD has showed me:പുറത്തു ചെല്ലുവാൻ നിനക്കു മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കിലോ, യഹോവ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്ന അരുളപ്പാടാവിതു:

And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Your friends have set you on, and have prevailed against you: your feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സകലസ്ത്രീകളും പുറത്തു ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകേണ്ടിവരും; നിന്റെ ചങ്ങാതിമാർ നിന്നെ വശീകരിച്ചു തോല്പിച്ചു; നിന്റെ കാൽ ചെളിയിൽ താണപ്പോൾ പിന്മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവർ പറയും.

So they shall bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans: and you shall not escape out of their hand, but shall be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and you shall cause this city to be burned with fire.നിന്റെ സകലഭാര്യമാരെയും മക്കളെയും പുറത്തു കല്ദയരുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകും; നീയും അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകാതെ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെടും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയുന്നതിന്നു നീ ഹേതുവാകും.

Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and you shall not die.സിദെക്കീയാവു യിരെമ്യാവോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഈ കാര്യം ആരും അറിയരുതു: എന്നാൽ നീ മരിക്കയില്ല.

But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come unto you, and say unto you, Declare unto us now what you have said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put you to death; also what the king said unto you:ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചപ്രകാരം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ കേട്ടിട്ടു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: നീ രാജാവിനോടു എന്തു സംസാരിച്ചു? ഞങ്ങളോടു പറക; ഒന്നും മറെച്ചുവെക്കരുതു; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുകയില്ല; രാജാവു നിന്നോടു എന്തു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നിങ്ങനെ ചോദിച്ചാൽ,

Then you shall say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.നീ അവരോടു: യോനാഥാന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കിടന്നു മരിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ വീണ്ടും അവിടെ അയക്കരുതേ എന്നു ഞാൻ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിക്കയായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയേണം.

Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചാറെ അവൻ, രാജാവു കല്പിച്ച ഈ വാക്കുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ കാര്യം വെളിവാകാഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടാതെ അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.

So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.യെരൂശലേം പിടിച്ച നാൾവരെ യിരെമ്യാവു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു പാർത്തു; യെരൂശലേം പിടിച്ചപ്പോഴും അവൻ അവിടെത്തന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു.

Jeremiah 39

In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ ഒമ്പതാം ആണ്ടിൽ പത്താം മാസത്തിൽ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരും അവന്റെ സകലസൈന്യവും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു അതിനെ നിരോധിച്ചു.

And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ നാലാം മാസം ഒമ്പതാം തിയ്യതി നഗരത്തിന്റെ മതിൽ ഒരിടം ഇടിച്ചുതുറന്നു.

And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുമായ നേർഗ്ഗൽ--ശരേസരും സംഗർ-നെബോവും സർ-സെഖീമും രബ്-സാരീസും നേർഗ്ഗൽ-ശരേസരും രബ്-മാഗും ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ ശേഷം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരൊക്കെയും അകത്തു കടന്നു നടുവിലത്തെ വാതിൽക്കൽ ഇരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the gate between the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവും എല്ലാ പടയാളികളും അവരെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ഓടിപ്പോയി; അവർ രാത്രിയിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ തോട്ടം വഴിയായി രണ്ടു മതിലുകൾക്കും നടുവിലുള്ള വാതിൽക്കൽകൂടി നഗരത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അരാബവഴിക്കുപോയി.

But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.കല്ദയരുടെ സൈന്യം അവരെ പിന്തുടർന്നു, യെരീഹോ സമഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു സിദെക്കീയാവോടൊപ്പം എത്തി അവനെ പിടിച്ചു, ഹമാത്ത് ദേശത്തിലെ രിബ്ളയിൽ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു; അവൻ അവന്നു വിധി കല്പിച്ചു.

Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.ബാബേൽ രാജാവു രിബ്ളയിൽവെച്ചു സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ അവൻ കാൺകെ കൊന്നു; യെഹൂദാകുലീനന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ബാബേൽ രാജാവു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.അവൻ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ കണ്ണു പൊട്ടിച്ചു, അവനെ ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു ചങ്ങലയിട്ടു ബന്ധിച്ചു.

And the Chaldeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.കല്ദയർ രാജഗൃഹത്തെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ വീടുകളെയും തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടു, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതിലുകളെ ഇടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.നഗരത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ച ജനത്തെയും തന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേരുവാൻ ഓടിവന്നവരെയും ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന ജനശിഷ്ടത്തെയും അകമ്പടിനായകനായ നെബൂസർ-അദാൻ ബാബേലിലേക്കു പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.

But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.ജനത്തിൽ ഒന്നുമില്ലാത്ത എളിയവരെ അകമ്പടി നായകനായ നെബൂസർ-അദാൻ യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു പാർപ്പിച്ചു, അവർക്കു അന്നു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും നിലങ്ങളും കൊടുത്തു.

Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,യിരെമ്യാവെക്കുറിച്ചു ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ അകമ്പടിനായകനായ നെബൂസർ-അദാനോടു:

Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto you.നീ അവനെ വരുത്തി, അവന്റെമേൽ ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചു, അവനോടു ഒരു ദോഷവും ചെയ്യാതെ അവൻ നിന്നോടു ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്തുകൊടുക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon's princes;അങ്ങനെ അകമ്പടിനായകനായ നെബൂസർ-അദാനും നെബൂശസ്ബാനും രബ്-സാരീസും നേർഗ്ഗൽ-ശരേസരും രബ്-മാഗും ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുംകൂടെ ആളയച്ചു,

Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.യിരെമ്യാവെ കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തുനിന്നു വരുത്തി അവനെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ അഹീക്കാമിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവെ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ പാർത്തു.

Now the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,യിരെമ്യാവു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു അടെക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന കാലത്തു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു അവന്നുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before you.നീ ചെന്നു കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്-മേലെക്കിനോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്മേൽ നന്മെക്കല്ല, തിന്മെക്കത്രേ നിവൃത്തിക്കും; അന്നു നീ കാൺകെ അവ നിവൃത്തിയാകും.

But I will deliver you in that day, says the LORD: and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.അന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിടുവിക്കും; നീ ഭയപ്പെടുന്ന മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽ നീ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയുമില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

¹⁸

For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be for a prey unto you: because you have put your trust in me, says the LORD.ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിടുവിക്കും; നീ വാളാൽ വീഴുകയില്ല; നിന്റെ ജീവൻ നിനക്കു കൊള്ള കിട്ടിയതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കും; നീ എന്നിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
