In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.ആസയുടെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മുപ്പത്താറാം ആണ്ടിൽ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ബയെശായെഹൂദെക്കു നേരെ വന്നു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരത്തുപോക്കിന്നു ആരെയും സമ്മതിക്കാത്തവണ്ണം രാമയെ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,അപ്പോൾ ആസാ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെയും രാജധാനിയിലെയും ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും എടുത്തു ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ വസിച്ച അരാം രാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദിന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു:

There is a league between me and you, as there was between my father and your father: behold, I have sent you silver and gold; go, break your league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.എനിക്കും നിനക്കും എന്റെ അപ്പനും നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നും തമ്മിൽ സഖ്യതയുണ്ടല്ലോ; ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും കൊടുത്തയക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ബയെശാ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ചെന്നു അവനോടുള്ള നിന്റെ സഖ്യത ത്യജിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they stroke Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.ബെൻ-ഹദദ് ആസാരാജാവിന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു തന്റെ സേനാധിപതിമാരെ യിസ്രായേൽപട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കു നേരെ അയച്ചു; അവർ ഈയോനും ദാനും ആബേൽ-മയീമും നഫ്താലിയുടെ സകലസംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളും പിടിച്ചടക്കി.

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.ബയെശാ അതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാമയെ പണിയുന്ന തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി നിർത്തിവെച്ചു.

Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.അപ്പോൾ ആസാരാജാവു യെഹൂദ്യരെ ഒക്കെയും കൂട്ടി, ബയെശാ പണിത രാമയുടെ കല്ലും മരവും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി: അവൻ അവകൊണ്ടു ഗേബയും മിസ്പയും പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD your God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of yours hand.ആ കാലത്തു ദർശകനായ ഹനാനി യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ ആസയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കാതെ അരാംരാജാവിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കകൊണ്ടു അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ സൈന്യം നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because you did rely on the LORD, he delivered them into yours hand.കൂശ്യരും ലൂബ്യരും അനവധി രഥങ്ങളോടും കുതിരച്ചേവകരോടും കൂടിയ ഒരു മഹാസൈന്യമായിരുന്നില്ലയോ? എന്നാൽ നീ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുതന്നു.

For the eyes of the LORD run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly: therefore from henceforth you shall have wars.യഹോവയുടെ കണ്ണു തങ്കൽ ഏകാഗ്രചിത്തന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി തന്നെത്താൻ ബലവാനെന്നു കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഭൂമിയിലെല്ലാടവും ഊടാടിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതിൽ നീ ഭോഷത്വം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി നിനക്കു യുദ്ധങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകും.

Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.അപ്പോൾ ആസാ ദർശകനോടു ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു അവനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആക്കി; ഈ കാര്യംനിമിത്തം അവന്നു അവനോടു ഉഗ്രകോപമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ആ സമയത്തു ആസാ ജനത്തിൽ ചിലരെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു.

And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.ആസയുടെ വൃത്താന്തങ്ങൾ ആദ്യാവസാനം യെഹൂദയിലെയും യിസ്രായേലിലെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.ആസെക്കു തന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മുപ്പത്തൊമ്പതാം ആണ്ടിൽ കാലിൽ ദീനംപിടിച്ചു; ദീനം അതികഠിനമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ തന്റെ ദീനത്തിൽ യഹോവയെ അല്ല, വൈദ്യന്മാരെ അത്രേ അന്വേഷിച്ചതു.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു തന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ നാല്പത്തൊന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ മരിച്ചു.

And they buried him in his own sepulchers, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' are: and they made a very great burning for him.അവൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ തനിക്കായിട്ടു വെട്ടിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്വന്ത കല്ലറയിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; വൈദ്യന്മാരുടെ യോഗപ്രകാരം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗവും പലതരം പരിമളസാധനങ്ങളും നിറെച്ചിരുന്ന ശയ്യമേൽ അവനെ കിടത്തുകയും അവന്നു വേണ്ടി എത്രയും വലിയോരു ദഹനം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

2 Chronicles 17

And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his position, and strengthened himself against Israel.അവന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി; അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നെതിരെ പ്രബലനായ്തീർന്നു.

And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.അവൻ യെഹൂദയിലെ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലൊക്കെയും സൈന്യങ്ങളെ ആക്കി; യെഹൂദാദേശത്തും തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ആസാ പിടിച്ച എഫ്രയീംപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെയും ആക്കി.

And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ആദ്യത്തെ വഴികളിൽ നടക്കയും ബാൽവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ആശ്രയിക്കാതെ

But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ആചാരപ്രകാരം നടക്കാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പനകളെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു

Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.യഹോവ അവന്നു രാജത്വം ഉറപ്പിച്ചു കൊടുത്തു; എല്ലായെഹൂദയും യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്നു കാഴ്ച കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന്നു ധനവും മാനവും വളരെ ഉണ്ടായി.

And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയുടെ വഴികളിൽ ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു അവൻ പൂജാഗിരികളെയും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെയും യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.അവൻ തന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളിൽ ഉപദേശിപ്പാനായിട്ടു ബെൻ-ഹയീൽ, ഓബദ്യാവു, സെഖർയ്യാവു, നെഥനയേൽ, മീഖാ എന്നീ തന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും

And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.അവരോടുകൂടെ ശെമയ്യാവു, നെഥന്യാവു, സെബദ്യാവു, അസായേൽ, ശെമീരാമോത്ത്, യെഹോനാഥാൻ, അദോനീയാവു, തോബീയാവു, തോബ്-അദോനീയാവു എന്നീ ലേവ്യരെയും അവരോടുകൂടെ എലീശാമാ, യെഹോരാം എന്നീ പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും അയച്ചു.

And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.അവർ യെഹൂദയിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപുസ്തകവും അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളിലൊക്കെയും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു ജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു ഒരു ഭീതി യെഹൂദെക്കു ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ദേശങ്ങളിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളിന്മേലും വീണിരുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു അവർ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തില്ല.

Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.ഫെലിസ്ത്യരിലും ചിലർ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്നു കാഴ്ചയും കപ്പമായി വെള്ളിയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അരാബ്യരും അവന്നു ഏഴായിരത്തെഴുനൂറു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനും ഏഴായിരത്തെഴുനൂറു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റനുമുള്ള ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് മേല്ക്കുമേൽ പ്രബലനായ്തീർന്നു, യെഹൂദയിൽ കോട്ടകളെയും സംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളെയും പണിതു.

And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.അവന്നു യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളിൽ വളരെ പ്രവൃത്തി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; പരാക്രമശാലികളായ യോദ്ധാക്കൾ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand.പിതൃഭവനംപിതൃഭവനമായുള്ള അവരുടെ എണ്ണമാവിതു: യെഹൂദയുടെ സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാർ: അദ്നാപ്രഭു, അവനോടുകൂടെ മൂന്നുലക്ഷം പരാക്രമശാലികൾ;

And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand.അവന്റെശേഷം യെഹോഹാനാൻ പ്രഭു, അവനോടുകൂടെ രണ്ടുലക്ഷത്തെണ്പതിനായിരം പേർ;

And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour.അവന്റെ ശേഷം തന്നെത്താൻ മനഃപൂർവ്വമായി യഹോവെക്കു ഭരമേല്പിച്ചവനായ സിക്രിയുടെ മകൻ അമസ്യാവു അവനോടുകൂടെ രണ്ടുലക്ഷം പരാക്രമശാലികൾ;

And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand.ബെന്യാമീനിൽനിന്നു പരാക്രമശാലിയായ എല്യാദാ അവനോടുകൂടെ വില്ലും പരിചയും ധരിച്ച രണ്ടുലക്ഷം പേർ;

And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war.അവന്റെ ശേഷം യെഹോസാബാദ്, അവനോടുകൂടെ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായ ലക്ഷത്തെണ്പതിനായിരം പേർ.

These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah.രാജാവു യെഹൂദയിലൊക്കെയും ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ആക്കിയിരുന്നവരെ കൂടാതെ രാജാവിന്നു സേവ ചെയ്തുവന്നവർ ഇവർ തന്നേ.

2 Chronicles 18

Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്നു ധനവും മാനവും വളരെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ആഹാബിനോടു സംബന്ധം കൂടി.

And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.ചില സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൻ ശമർയ്യയിൽ ആഹാബിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; ആഹാബ് അവന്നും കൂടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജനത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടി വളരെ ആടുകളെയും കാളകളെയും അറുത്തു; ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു തന്നോടുകൂടെ ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ വശീകരിച്ചു.

And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as you are, and my people as your people; and we will be with you in the war.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ആഹാബ് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടു: നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോരുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവൻ അവനോടു: ഞാനും നീയും എന്റെ ജനവും നിന്റെ ജനവും ഒരുപോലെയല്ലോ; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray you, at the word of the LORD to day.യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിനോടു: ഇന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിച്ചാലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു നാനൂറു പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ വരുത്തി അവരോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകയോ പോകാതിരിക്കയോ എന്തു വേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവർ: പുറപ്പെടുക; ദൈവം അതു രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?എന്നാൽ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത്: നാം അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവാചകനായിട്ടു ഇനി ആരും ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടു: നാം യഹോവയോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഇനി ഒരുത്തനുണ്ടു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരിക്കലും ഗുണമല്ല എല്ലായ്പോഴുംദോഷം തന്നേ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു അവനെ ഇഷ്ടമില്ല; അവൻ യിമ്ളയുടെ മകനായ മീഖായാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. രാജാവു അങ്ങനെ പറയരുതേ എന്നു യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു ഒരു ഷണ്ഡനെ വിളിച്ചു: യിമ്ളയുടെ മകനായ മീഖായാവെ വേഗം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തും രാജവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു ശമർയ്യയുടെ പടിവാതിൽ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ ഒരു വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു താന്താന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ പ്രവചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus says the LORD, With these you shall push Syria until they be consumed.കെനയനയുടെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവു തനിക്കു ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടു കൊമ്പുണ്ടാക്കി: നീ ഇവകൊണ്ടു അരാമ്യരെ അവർ ഒടുങ്ങുംവരെ കുത്തിക്കളയും എന്നിപ്രകാരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.പ്രവാചകന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പ്രവചിച്ചു: ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെടുക; നീ കൃതാർത്ഥനാകും; യഹോവ അതു രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let your word therefore, I pray you, be like one of their's, and speak you good.മീഖായാവെ വിളിപ്പാൻ പോയ ദൂതൻ അവനോടു: നോകൂ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കുകൾ ഒരുപോലെ രാജാവിന്നു ഗുണമായിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വാക്കും അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തന്റേതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; നീയും ഗുണമായി പറയേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Micaiah said, As the LORD lives, even what my God says, that will I speak.അതിന്നു മീഖായാവു: യഹോവയാണ, എന്റെ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു തന്നേ ഞാൻ പ്രസ്താവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁴

And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go all of you up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ രാജാവു അവനോടു: മീഖായാവേ, ഞങ്ങൾ ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകയോ പോകാതിരിക്കയോ എന്തു വേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവൻ: പുറപ്പെടുവിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ കൃതാർത്ഥരാകും; അവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure you that you say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?രാജാവു അവനോടു: നീ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ സത്യമല്ലാതെ യാതൊന്നും എന്നോടു പറയരുതെന്നു എത്ര പ്രാവശ്യം ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു സത്യംചെയ്തു പറയേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.അതിന്നു അവൻ: ഇടയനില്ലാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും പർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽ ചിതറിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ: ഇവർക്കു നാഥനില്ല; ഇവൻ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടു: ഇവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ദോഷമല്ലാതെ ഗുണം പ്രവചിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.അതിന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേട്ടുകൊൾവിൻ! യഹോവ തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ സൈന്യമെല്ലാം അവന്റെ വലത്തും ഇടത്തും നില്ക്കുന്നതും ഞാൻ കണ്ടു.

And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spoke saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ആഹാബ് ചെന്നു ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിൽ പട്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ ആർ വശീകരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ ഇങ്ങനെയും ഒരുത്തൻ അങ്ങനെയും പറഞ്ഞു.

Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?എന്നാറെ ഒരു ആത്മാവു മുമ്പോട്ടു വന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു: ഞാൻ അവനെ വശീകരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യഹോവ അവനോടു: ഏതിനാൽ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, You shall entice him, and you shall also prevail: go out, and do even so.അതിന്നു അവൻ: ഞാൻ ചെന്നു അവന്റെ സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വായിൽ ഭോഷ്കിന്റെ ആത്മാവായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ അവനെ വശീകരിക്കും; നിനക്കു സാധിക്കും; നീ ചെന്നു അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്ക എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

Now therefore, behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets, and the LORD has spoken evil against you.ആകയൽ ഇതാ, യഹോവ ഭോഷ്കിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ നിന്റെ ഈ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വായിൽ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു അനർത്ഥം കല്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and stroke Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto you?അപ്പോൾ കെനയനയുടെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവു അടുത്തുചെന്നു മീഖായാവെ ചെകിട്ടത്തു അടിച്ചു: നിന്നോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു എന്നെ വിട്ടു ഏതു വഴിയായി കടന്നുവന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see on that day when you shall go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.അതിന്നു മീഖായാവു: നീ ഒളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അറ തേടിനടക്കുന്ന ദിവസത്തിൽ നീ കാണും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the king of Israel said, Take all of you Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ മീഖായാവെ പിടിച്ചു നഗരാധിപതിയായ ആമോന്റെയും രാജകുമാരനായ യോവാശിന്റെയും അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു:

And say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.ഇവനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആക്കി, ഞാൻ സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിവരുവോളം ഞെരുക്കത്തിന്റെ അപ്പവും ഞെരുക്കത്തിന്റെ വെള്ളവുംകൊണ്ടു പോക്ഷിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറവിൻ.

And Micaiah said, If you certainly return in peace, then has not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all you people.അതിന്നു മീഖായാവു: നീ സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിവരുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ യഹോവ ഞാൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സകലജാതികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, കേട്ടുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തും ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and I will go to the battle; but put you on your robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടു: ഞാൻ വേഷംമാറി പടയിൽ കടക്കും; നീയോ രാജവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു വേഷംമാറി, അവർ പടയിൽ കടന്നു.

Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight all of you not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.എന്നാൽ അരാംരാജാവു തന്റെ രഥനായകന്മാരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിനോടു മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ചെറിയവരോടോ വലിയവരോടോ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.ആകയാൽ രഥനായകന്മാർ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ; ഇവൻ തന്നേ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനോടു പൊരുതുവാൻ തിരിഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് നിലവിളിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവനെ സഹായിച്ചു; അവനെ വിട്ടുപോകുവാൻ ദൈവം അവർക്കു തോന്നിച്ചു.

For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവല്ല എന്നു രഥനായകന്മാർ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവർ അവനെ പിന്തുടരാതെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And a certain man drew a bow at random, and stroke the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn yours hand, that you may carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൻ യദൃച്ഛയാ വില്ലു കുലെച്ചു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിനെ കവചത്തിന്നും പതക്കത്തിന്നും ഇടെക്കു എയ്തു; അവൻ തന്റെ സാരഥിയോടു: നിന്റെ കൈ തിരിച്ചു എന്നെ പടയിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോക; ഞാൻ കഠിനമായി മുറിവേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴

And the battle increased that day: nevertheless the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.അന്നു പട കഠിനമായി തീർന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു സന്ധ്യവരെ അരാമ്യർക്കെതിരെ രഥത്തിൽ നിവിർന്നുനിന്നു; സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി.
