And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.അനന്തരം യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: കൂടിവരുവിൻ, ഭാവികാലത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്കു സംഭവിപ്പാനുള്ളതു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അറിയിക്കും.

Gather yourselves together, and hear, all of you sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.യാക്കോബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേ: കൂടിവന്നു കേൾപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മൊഴിക്കു ചെവിതരുവിൻ!

Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:രൂബേനേ, നീ എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ, എന്റെ വിര്യവും എന്റെ ശക്തിയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠതയുടെ വൈശിഷ്ട്യവും ബലത്തിന്റെ വൈശിഷ്ട്യവും തന്നേ

Unstable as water, you shall not excel; because you went up to your father's bed; then defiled you it: he went up to my couch.വെള്ളംപോലെ തുളുമ്പുന്നവനേ, നീ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനാകയില്ല; നീ അപ്പന്റെ കിടക്കമേൽ കയറി അതിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി; എന്റെ ശയ്യമേൽ അവൻ കയറിയല്ലോ.

Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.ശിമയോനും ലേവിയും സഹോദരന്മാർ; അവരുടെ വാളുകൾ സാഹസത്തിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങൾ.

O my soul, come not you into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not you united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they dug down a wall.എൻ ഉള്ളമേ, അവരുടെ മന്ത്രണത്തിൽ കൂടരുതേ; എൻ മനമേ, അവരുടെ യോഗത്തിൽ ചേരരുതേ; തങ്ങളുടെ കോപത്തിൽ അവർ പുരുഷന്മാരെ കൊന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ ശാഠ്യത്തിൽ കൂറ്റന്മാരുടെ വരിയുടെച്ചു.

Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.അവരുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപവും കഠിനക്രോധവും ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു; ഞാൻ അവരെ യാക്കോബിൽ പകക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിൽ ചിതറിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

Judah, you are he whom your brethren shall praise: your hand shall be in the neck of yours enemies; your father's children shall bow down before you.യെഹൂദയേ, സഹോദരന്മാർ നിന്നെ പുകഴ്ത്തും; നിന്റെ കൈ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കഴുത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും; അപ്പന്റെ മക്കൾ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നമസ്കരിക്കും.

Judah is a lion's offspring: from the prey, my son, you are gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?യഹൂദാ ഒരു ബാലസിംഹം; മകനേ, നീ ഇരപിടിച്ചു കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ കുനിഞ്ഞു, സിംഹംപോലെയും സിംഹിപോലെയും പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; ആർ അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും?

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.അവകാശമുള്ളവൻ വരുവോളം ചെങ്കോൽ യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നും രാജദണ്ഡു അവന്റെ കാലുകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നും നീങ്ങിപ്പോകയില്ല; ജാതികളുടെ അനുസരണം അവനോടു ആകും.

Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:അവൻ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയോടു ചെറുകഴുതയെയും വിശിഷ്ടമുന്തിരിവള്ളിയോടു കഴുതക്കുട്ടിയെയും കെട്ടുന്നു; അവൻ വീഞ്ഞിൽ തന്റെ ഉടുപ്പും ദ്രാക്ഷാരസത്തിൽ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രവും അലക്കുന്നു.

His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.അവന്റെ കണ്ണു വീഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു ചുവന്നും അവന്റെ പല്ലു പാലുകൊണ്ടു വെളുത്തും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.സെബൂലൂൻ സമുദ്രതീരത്തു വസിക്കും; അവൻ കപ്പൽതുറമുഖത്തു പാർക്കും; അവന്റെ പാർശ്വം സീദോൻ വരെ ആകും.

Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:യിസ്സാഖാർ അസ്ഥിബലമുള്ള കഴുത; അവൻ തൊഴുത്തുകളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ കിടക്കുന്നു.

And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.വിശ്രാമം നല്ലതെന്നും ദേശം ഇമ്പമുള്ളതെന്നും കണ്ടു, അവൻ ചുമടിന്നു ചുമൽ കൊടുത്തു ഊഴിയത്തിന്നു ദാസനായ്തീർന്നു.

Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.ദാൻ ഏതൊരു യിസ്രായേല്യഗോത്രവുംപോലെ സ്വജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യും.

Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.ദാൻ വഴിയിൽ ഒരു പാമ്പും പാതയിൽ ഒരു സർപ്പവും ആകുന്നു; അവൻ കുതിരയുടെ കുതികാൽ കടിക്കും; പുറത്തു കയറിയവൻ മലർന്നു വീഴും.

I have waited for your salvation, O LORD.യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ രക്ഷക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.ഗാദോ കവർച്ചപ്പട അവനെ ഞെരുക്കും; അവനോ അവരുടെ പിമ്പടയെ ഞെരുക്കും.

Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.ആശേരോ, അവന്റെ ആഹാരം പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതു; അവൻ രാജകീയസ്വാദുഭോജനം നല്കും.

Naphtali is a hind let loose: he gives goodly words.നഫ്താലി സ്വതന്ത്രയായി നടക്കുന്ന പേടമാൻ; അവൻ ലാവണ്യവാക്കുകൾ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:യോസേഫ് ഫലപ്രദമായോരു വൃക്ഷം, നീരുറവിന്നരികെ ഫലപ്രദമായോരു വൃക്ഷം തന്നേ; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകൾ മതിലിന്മേൽ പടരുന്നു.

The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:വില്ലാളികൾ അവനെ വിഷമിപ്പിച്ചു; അവർ എയ്തു, അവനോടു പൊരുതു.

But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)അവന്റെ വില്ലു ഉറപ്പോടെ നിന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭുജം യാക്കോബിൻ വല്ലഭന്റെ കയ്യാൽ ബലപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പാറയായ ഇടയന്റെ നാമത്താൽ തന്നേ.

Even by the God of your father, who shall help you; and by the Almighty, who shall bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:നിൻ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവത്താൽ - അവൻ നിന്നെ സഹായിക്കും സർവ്വശക്തനാൽ തന്നേ - അവൻ മീതെ ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലും താഴെ കിടക്കുന്ന ആഴത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രങ്ങളാലും മുലയുടെയും ഗർഭത്തിന്റെയും അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലും നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of my conceivers unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.നിൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ എൻ ജനകന്മാരുടെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾക്കു മീതെ ശാശ്വതഗിരികളുടെ അറ്റത്തോളം പ്രബലപ്പെട്ടു. അവ യോസേഫിന്റെ തലയിലും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ പ്രഭുവായവന്റെ നെറുകയിലും വരും.

Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.ബെന്യാമീൻ കടിച്ചു കീറുന്ന ചെന്നായി; രാവിലേ അവൻ ഇരപിടിച്ചു വിഴുങ്ങും; വൈകുന്നേരത്തു അവൻ കവർച്ച പങ്കിടും.

All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spoke unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.യിസ്രായെൽ ഗോത്രം പന്ത്രണ്ടും ഇവ ആകുന്നു; അവരുടെ പിതാവു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു ഇതു തന്നേ; അവൻ അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം കൊടുത്തു അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,അവൻ അവരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോന്റെ നിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയിൽ എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ എന്നെ അടക്കേണം.

In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.കനാൻ ദേശത്തു മമ്രേക്കു സമീപം, അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോനോടു നിലത്തോടുകൂടെ ശ്മശാനഭൂമിയായി ജന്മം വാങ്ങിയ മക്ക്പേലാ എന്ന നിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയിൽ തന്നേ.

There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.അവിടെ അവർ അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ റിബെക്കയെയും അടക്കി; അവിടെ ഞാൻ ലേയയെയും അടക്കി.

The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth.ആ നിലവും അതിലെ ഗുഹയും ഹിത്യരോടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയതാകുന്നു.

And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the spirit, and was gathered unto his people.യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു തീർന്നശേഷം അവൻ കാൽ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ എടുത്തു വെച്ചിട്ടു പ്രാണനെവിട്ടു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർന്നു.

Genesis 50

And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.അപ്പോൾ യോസേഫ് തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ മുഖത്തു വീണു കരഞ്ഞു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു.

And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.പിന്നെ തന്റെ അപ്പന്നു സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗം ഇടുവാൻ യോസേഫ് തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ വൈദ്യന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു; വൈദ്യന്മാർ യിസ്രായേലിനു സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗം ഇട്ടു.

And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.അങ്ങനെ നാല്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞു; സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗം ഇടുവാൻ അത്ര ദിവസം വേണ്ടി വരും. മിസ്രയീമ്യർ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുപതു ദിവസം വിലാപം കഴിച്ചു.

And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spoke unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,അവന്നായുള്ള വിലാപകാലം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യോസേഫ് ഫറവോന്റെ ഗൃഹക്കാരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്നോടു ദയ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഫറവോനോടു:

My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have dug for me in the land of Canaan, there shall you bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray you, and bury my father, and I will come again.എന്റെ അപ്പൻ: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ മരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ കനാൻ ദേശത്തു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി വെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്ന കല്ലറയിൽ തന്നേ നീ എന്നെ അടക്കേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു. ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ പോയി എന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കി മടങ്ങി വരുവാൻ അനുവാദത്തിന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉണർത്തിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury your father, according as he made you swear.നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചതു പോലെ നീ പോയി അവനെ അടക്കുക എന്നു ഫറവോൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് അപ്പനെ അടക്കുവാൻ പൊയി; ഫറവോന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും കോവിലധികാരികളും

And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ പ്രമാണികളും യോസേഫിന്റെ കുടുംബം ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും പിതൃഭവനവും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; തങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളെയും ആടുമാടുകളെയും മാത്രം അവർ ഗോശെൻ ദേശത്തു വിട്ടേച്ചുപോയി

And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.രഥങ്ങളും കുതിരയാളുകളും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; അതു എത്രയും വലിയ കൂട്ടമായിരുന്നു.

And they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.അവർ യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുള്ള ഗോരെൻ-ആതാദിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവിടെവെച്ചു എത്രയും ഗൌരവമായ പ്രലാപം കഴിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഏഴു ദിവസം തന്റെ അപ്പനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപം കഴിച്ചു.

And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond Jordan.ദേശനിവാസികളായ കനാന്യർ ഗോരെൻ-ആതാദിലെ വിലാപം കണ്ടിട്ടു: ഇതു മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ മഹാവിലാപം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ആബേൽ-മിസ്രയീം എന്നു പേരായി; അതു യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ ആകുന്നു.

And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:അവൻ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതു പോലെ പുത്രന്മാർ അവന്നു ചെയ്തു.

For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ അവനെ കനാൻ ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി, മമ്രേക്കു സമീപം അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോനോടു നിലത്തോടു കൂടെ ശ്മശാനഭൂമിയായി ജന്മം വാങ്ങിയ മക്ക്പേലയെന്ന നിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയിൽ അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു.

And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.യോസേഫ് അപ്പനെ അടക്കിയശേഷം അവനും സഹോദരനും അവന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കുവാൻ കൂടെ പോയിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരും മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will possibly hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.അപ്പൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു യോസേഫിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ കണ്ടിട്ടു: പക്ഷേ യോസേഫ് നമ്മെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു, നാം അവനോടു ചെയ്ത സകലദോഷത്തിന്നും നമ്മോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Your father did command before he died, saying,അവർ യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: അപ്പൻ മരിക്കും മുമ്പെ: നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ നിന്നോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്തു; അവർ ചെയ്ത അതിക്രമവും പാപവും നീ ക്ഷമിക്കേണം എന്നു യോസേഫിനോടു പറവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

So shall all of you say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray you now, the trespass of your brethren, and their sin; for they did unto you evil: and now, we pray you, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father. And Joseph wept when they spoke unto him.ആകയാൽ അപ്പന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ ദ്രോഹം ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു. അവർ യോസേഫിനോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ കരഞ്ഞു.

And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be your servants.അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ ചെന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വീണു: ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു അടിമകൾ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?യോസേഫ് അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നുവോ?

But as for you, all of you thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ നേരെ ദോഷം വിചാരിച്ചു; ദൈവമോ, ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ ബഹുജനത്തിന്നു ജീവരക്ഷ വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിനെ ഗുണമാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.

Now therefore fear all of you not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spoke kindly unto them.ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളെയും പോറ്റി രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തി.

And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.യോസേഫും അവന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും മിസ്രയീമിൽ പാർത്തു, യോസേഫ് നൂറ്റിപ്പത്തു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ മൂന്നാം തലമുറയിലെ മക്കളെയും കണ്ടു; മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മക്കളും യോസേഫിന്റെ മടിയിൽ വളർന്നു.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.അനന്തരം യോസേഫ് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടു: ഞാൻ മരിക്കുന്നു;എന്നാൽ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദർശിക്കയും ഈ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു താൻ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും സത്യംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and all of you shall carry up my bones from behind.ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദർശിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ ഇവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യോസേഫ് യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.യോസേഫ് നൂറ്റിപ്പത്തു വയസ്സുള്ളവനായി മരിച്ചു. അവർ അവന്നു സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗം ഇട്ടു അവനെ മിസ്രയീമിൽ ഒരു ശവപ്പെട്ടിയിൽ വെച്ചു.

Exodus 1

And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.യാക്കോബിന്റെ കടിപ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിച്ച ദേഹികൾ എല്ലാം കൂടെ എഴുപതു പേർ ആയിരുന്നു; യോസേഫോ മുമ്പെ തന്നേ മിസ്രയീമിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.

And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.യോസേഫും സഹോദരന്മാരെല്ലാവരും ആ തലമുറ ഒക്കെയും മരിച്ചു.

And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ സന്താനസമ്പന്നരായി അത്യന്തം വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി ബലപ്പെട്ടു; ദേശം അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.അനന്തരം യോസേഫിനെ അറിയാത്ത പുതിയോരു രാജാവു മിസ്രയീമിൽ ഉണ്ടായി.

And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:അവൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു: യിസ്രായേൽ ജനം നമ്മെക്കാൾ ബാഹുല്യവും ശക്തിയുമുള്ളവരാകുന്നു.

Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falls out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.അവർ പെരുകീട്ടു ഒരു യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന പക്ഷം നമ്മുടെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു ചേർന്നു നമ്മോടു പൊരുതു ഈ രാജ്യം വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളവാൻ സംഗതി വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവരോടു ബുദ്ധിയായി പെരുമാറുക.

Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.അങ്ങനെ കഠിനവേലകളാൽ അവരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെമേൽ ഊഴിയവിചാരകന്മാരെ ആക്കി; അവർ പീഥോം, റയംസേസ് എന്ന സംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളെ ഫറവോന്നു പണിതു.

But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.എന്നാൽ അവർ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്തോറും ജനം പെരുകി വർദ്ധിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾനിമിത്തം പേടിച്ചു.

And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:മിസ്രയീമ്യർ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെക്കൊണ്ടു കഠിനവേല ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.കളിമണ്ണും ഇഷ്ടികയും വയലിലെ സകലവിധവേലയും സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള കഠിനപ്രവർത്തിയാലും അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു കാഠിന്യത്തോടെ ചെയ്യിച്ച സകലപ്രയത്നത്താലും അവർ അവരുടെ ജീവനെ കൈപ്പാക്കി.

And the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:എന്നാൽ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു ശിപ്രാ എന്നും പൂവാ എന്നും പേരുള്ള എബ്രായസൂതികർമ്മിണികളോടു:

And he said, When all of you do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then all of you shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.എബ്രായസ്ത്രീകളുടെ അടുക്കൽ നിങ്ങൾ സൂതികർമ്മത്തിന്നു ചെന്നു പ്രസവശയ്യയിൽ അവരെ കാണുമ്പോൾ കുട്ടി ആണാകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ അതിനെ കൊല്ലേണം; പെണ്ണാകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ജീവനോടിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.സൂതികർമ്മിണികളോ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, മിസ്രയീം രാജാവു തങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്യാതെ ആൺ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിച്ചു.

And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have all of you done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?അപ്പോൾ മിസ്രയീം രാജാവു സൂതികർമ്മിണികളെ വരുത്തി; ഇതെന്തൊരു പ്രവൃത്തി? നിങ്ങൾ ആൺകുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered before the midwives come in unto them.സൂതികർമ്മിണികൾ ഫറവോനോടു: എബ്രായസ്ത്രീകൾ മിസ്രയീമ്യസ്ത്രീകളെപ്പോലെ അല്ല; അവർ നല്ല തിറമുള്ളവർ; സൂതികർമ്മിണികൾ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തുമ്മുമ്പെ അവർ പ്രസവിച്ചു കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവം സൂതികർമ്മിണികൾക്കു നന്മചെയ്തു; ജനം വർദ്ധിച്ചു ഏറ്റവം ബലപ്പെട്ടു.

And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.സൂതി കർമ്മിണികൾ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുകകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവർക്കു കുടുംബവർദ്ധന നല്കി.

And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born all of you shall cast into the river, and every daughter all of you shall keep alive.പിന്നെ ഫറവോൻ തന്റെ സകലജനത്തോടും: ജനിക്കുന്ന ഏതു ആൺകുട്ടിയെയും നദിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയേണമെന്നും ഏതു പെൺകുട്ടിയെയും ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമെന്നും കല്പിച്ചു.

Exodus 2

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.എന്നാൽ ലേവികുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ പോയി ഒരു ലേവ്യകന്യകയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.അവൾ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അവൻ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ളവൻ എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ മൂന്നു മാസം ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു.

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with bitumen and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.അവനെ പിന്നെ ഒളിച്ചുവെപ്പാൻ കഴിയാതെ ആയപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഒരു ഞാങ്ങണപ്പെട്ടകം വാങ്ങി, അതിന്നു പശയും കീലും തേച്ചു, പൈതലിനെ അതിൽ കിടത്തി, നദിയുടെ അരികിൽ ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയിൽ വെച്ചു.

And his sister stood far off, to know what would be done to him.അവന്നു എന്തു ഭവിക്കുമെന്നു അറിവാൻ അവന്റെ പെങ്ങൾ ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.അപ്പോൾ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി നദിയിൽ കുളിപ്പാൻ വന്നു; അവളുടെ ദാസിമാർ നദീതീരത്തുകൂടി നടന്നു; അവൾ ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയിൽ പെട്ടകം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അതിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ ദാസിയെ അയച്ചു.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.അവൾ അതു തുറന്നാറെ പൈതലിനെ കണ്ടു: കുട്ടി ഇതാ, കരയുന്നു. അവൾക്കു അതിനോടു അലിവുതോന്നി: ഇതു എബ്രായരുടെ പൈതങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to you a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?അവന്റെ പെങ്ങൾ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയോടു: ഈ പൈതലിന്നു മുലകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു എബ്രായസ്ത്രീയെ ഞാൻ ചെന്നു വിളിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടു: ചെന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കന്യക ചെന്നു പൈതലിന്റെ അമ്മയെ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give you your wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടു: നീ ഈ പൈതലിനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളർത്തേണം; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ശമ്പളം തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സ്ത്രി പൈതലിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളർത്തി.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.പൈതൽ വളർന്നശേഷം അവൾ അവനെ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു പോയി, അവൻ അവൾക്കു മകനായി: ഞാൻ അവനെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൾ അവന്നു മോശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.ആ കാലത്തു മോശെ മുതിർന്നശേഷം അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ ഭാരമുള്ള വേല നോക്കി, തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ ഒരു എബ്രായനെ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യൻ അടിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.അവൻ അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും നോക്കീട്ടു ആരും ഇല്ലെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ അടിച്ചു കൊന്നു മണലിൽ മറവുചെയ്തു.

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smite you your fellow?പിറ്റേ ദിവസവും അവൻ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ രണ്ടു എബ്രായ പുരുഷന്മാർ തമ്മിൽ ശണ്ഠയിടുന്നതു കണ്ടു, അന്യായം ചെയ്തവനോടു: നിന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ അടിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said, Who made you a prince and a judge over us? intend you to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.അതിന്നു അവൻ: നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പ്രഭുവും ന്യായാധിപതിയും ആക്കിയവൻ ആർ? മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ കൊന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെയും കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ കാര്യം പ്രസിദ്ധമായിപ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു പേടിച്ചു.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.ഫറവോൻ ഈ കാര്യം കേട്ടാറെ മോശെയെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു. മോശെ ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോയി, മിദ്യാൻ ദേശത്തു ചെന്നു പാർത്തു; അവൻ ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ ഇരുന്നു.

Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.മിദ്യാനിലെ പുരോഹിതന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രിമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവർ വന്നു അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകൾക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളം കോരി തൊട്ടികൾ നിറെച്ചു.

And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.എന്നാൽ ഇടയന്മാർ വന്നു അവരെ ആട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു: അപ്പോൾ മോശെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു അവരുടെ ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു.

And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that all of you are come so soon to day?അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനായ റെഗൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ: നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്നു ഇത്രവേഗം വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യൻ ഇടയന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വെള്ളം കോരിത്തന്നു ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that all of you have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രിമാരോടു: അവൻ എവിടെ? നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിട്ടേച്ചു പോന്നതെന്തു? ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാൻ അവനെ വിളിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.മോശെക്കു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാർപ്പാൻ സമ്മതമായി; അവൻ മോശെക്കു തന്റെ മകൾ സിപ്പോറയെ കൊടുത്തു.

And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു: ഞാൻ അന്യദേശത്തു പരദേശി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഗേർശോം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.ഏറെ നാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു മരിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അടിമവേല നിമിത്തം നെടുവീർപ്പിട്ടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിമവേല ഹേതുവായുള്ള നിലവിള ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ എത്തി.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.ദൈവം അവരുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു; ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും തനിക്കുള്ള നിയമവും ഓർത്തു.

And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.ദൈവം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; ദൈവം അറിഞ്ഞു.
