Luke 19

And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.അവൻ യെരീഹോവിൽ എത്തി കടന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ

And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.ചുങ്കക്കാരിൽ പ്രമാണിയും ധനവാനുമായ സക്കായി എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു പുരുഷൻ,

And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.യേശു എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവൻ എന്നു കാണ്മാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു, വളർച്ചയിൽ കുറിയവൻ ആകകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരംനിമിത്തം കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.എന്നാറെ അവൻ മുമ്പോട്ടു ഓടി, അവനെ കാണേണ്ടിതിന്നു ഒരു കാട്ടത്തിമേൽ കയറി. യേശു ആ വഴിയായി വരികയായിരുന്നു.

And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; in order to day I must abide at your house.അവൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോൾ മേലോട്ടു നോക്കി: “സക്കായിയേ, വേഗം ഇറങ്ങിവാ; ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പാർക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു” എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.അവൻ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഇറങ്ങി സന്തോഷത്തോടെ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.

And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.കണ്ടവർ എല്ലാം: അവൻ പാപിയായോരു മനുഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ പാർപ്പാൻ പോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പിറുപിറുത്തു.

And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.സക്കായിയോ നിന്നു കർത്താവിനോടു: കർത്താവേ, എന്റെ വസ്തുവകയിൽ പാതി ഞാൻ ദരിദ്രർക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്നുണ്ടു; വല്ലതും ചതിവായി വാങ്ങീട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നാലുമടങ്ങു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.യേശു അവനോടു: “ഇവനും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകൻ ആകയാൽ ഇന്നു ഈ വീട്ടിന്നു രക്ഷ വന്നു.

For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.കാണാതെ പോയതിനെ തിരഞ്ഞു രക്ഷിപ്പാനല്ലോ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വന്നതു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And as they heard these things, he added and spoke a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.അവർ ഇതു കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിന്നു സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും ദൈവരാജ്യം ക്ഷണത്തിൽ വെളിപ്പെടും എന്നു അവർക്കു തോന്നുകയാലും അവൻ ഒരു ഉപമയുംകൂടെ പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:

He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.കുലീനനായോരു മനുഷ്യൻ രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവരേണം എന്നുവെച്ചു ദൂരദേശത്തേക്കു യാത്രപോയി.

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.അവൻ പത്തു ദാസന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു അവർക്കു പത്തു റാത്തൽ വെള്ളി കൊടുത്തു ഞാൻ വരുവോളം വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്തുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.അവന്റെ പൌരന്മാരോ അവനെ പകെച്ചു അവന്റെ പിന്നൊലെ പ്രതിനിധികളെ അയച്ചു: അവൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മതമല്ല എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.അവൻ രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു മടങ്ങി വന്നപ്പോൾ താൻ ദ്രവ്യം കൊടുത്തിരുന്ന ദാസന്മാർ വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്തു എന്തു നേടി എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ വിളിപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

Then came the first, saying, Lord, your pound has gained ten pounds.ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ അടുത്തു വന്നു; കർത്താവേ, നീ തന്ന റാത്തൽകൊണ്ടു പത്തുറാത്തൽ സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto him, Well, you good servant: because you have been faithful in a very little, have you authority over ten cities.അവൻ അവനോടു: നന്നു നല്ല ദാസനേ, നീ അത്യല്പത്തിൽ വിശ്വസ്തൻ ആയതുകൊണ്ടു പത്തു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു അധികാരമുള്ളവൻ ആയിരിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And the second came, saying, Lord, your pound has gained five pounds.രണ്ടാമത്തവൻ വന്നു: കർത്താവേ, നീ തന്ന റാത്തൽകൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചു റാത്തൽ സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said likewise to him, Be you also over five cities.നീയും അഞ്ചു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു മേൽവിചാരകൻ ആയിരിക്ക എന്നു അവൻ അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is your pound, which I have kept laid up in a cloth:മറ്റൊരുവൻ വന്നു: കർത്താവേ, ഇതാ നിന്റെ റാത്തൽ; ഞാൻ അതു ഒരു ഉറുമാലിൽ കെട്ടി വെച്ചിരുന്നു.

For I feared you, because you are an austere man: you take up that you layed not down, and reap that you did not sow.നീ വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കുകയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യൻ ആകകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he says unto him, Out of yours own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:അവൻ അവനോടു: ദുഷ്ടദാസനേ, നിന്റെ വായിൽ നിന്നു തന്നേ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കും. ഞാൻ വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യൻ എന്നു നീ അറിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

Wherefore then gave not you my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with interest?ഞാൻ വന്നു എന്റെ ദ്രവ്യം പലിശയോടുകൂടെ വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നാണ്യപീഠത്തിൽ ഏല്പിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that has ten pounds.പിന്നെ അവൻ അരികെ നില്ക്കുന്നവരോടു: ആ റാത്തൽ അവന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നു എടുത്തു പത്തു റാത്തലുള്ളവന്നു കൊടുപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

(And they said unto him, Lord, he has ten pounds.)കർത്താവേ, അവന്നു പത്തു റാത്തൽ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

For I say unto you, That unto every one which has shall be given; and from him that has not, even that he has shall be taken away from him.ഉള്ളവന്നു ഏവന്നു കൊടുക്കും ഇല്ലാത്തവനോടു ഉള്ളതുംകൂടെ എടുത്തു കളയും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me.എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ തങ്ങൾക്കു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നതു സമ്മതമില്ലാത്ത ശത്രുക്കളായവരെ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ മുമ്പായി നടന്നുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.

And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,അവൻ ഒലീവ് മലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫാഗെക്കും ബേഥാന്യെക്കും സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു:

Saying, Go all of you into the village opposite to you; in the which at your entering all of you shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him here.നിങ്ങൾക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുവിൻ; അതിൽ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ ആരും ഒരിക്കലും കയറീട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു കഴുതക്കുട്ടിയെ കെട്ടീയിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണും; അതിനെ അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ.

And if any man ask you, Why do all of you loose him? thus shall all of you say unto him, Because the Lord has need of him.അതിനെ അഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിച്ചാൽ: കർത്താവിന്നു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ പോയി തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ കണ്ടു.

And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose all of you the colt?കഴുതക്കുട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ ഉടയവർ: കഴുതക്കുട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു:

And they said, The Lord has need of him.കർത്താവിനു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.അതിനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം കഴുതക്കുട്ടിമേൽ ഇട്ടു യേശുവിനെ കയറ്റി.

And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.അവൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയിൽ വിരിച്ചു.

And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;അവൻ ഒലീവുമലയുടെ ഇറക്കത്തിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം തങ്ങൾ കണ്ട സകല വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെയും കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു അത്യുച്ചത്തിൽ ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി:

Saying, Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്ന രാജാവു വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ സമാധാനവും അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ മഹത്വവും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke your disciples.പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ചില പരീശന്മാരോ അവനോടു: ഗുരോ, നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെ വിലക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.അതിന്നു അവൻ: “ഇവർ മണ്ടാതിരുന്നാൽ കല്ലുകൾ ആർത്തുവിളിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,അവൻ നഗരത്തിന്നു സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ അതിനെ കണ്ടു അതിനെക്കുറിചു കരഞ്ഞു:

Saying, If you had known, even you, at least in this your day, the things which belong unto your peace! but now they are hid from yours eyes.ഈ നാളിൽ നിന്റെ സമാധാനത്തിന്നുള്ളതു നീയും അറിഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോഴോ അതു നിന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

For the days shall come upon you, that yours enemies shall cast a trench about you, and compass you round, and keep you in on every side,നിന്റെ സന്ദർശനകാലം നീ അറിയാഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾ നിനക്കു ചുറ്റും വാടകോരി നിന്നെ വളഞ്ഞു നാലുപുറത്തും ഞെരുക്കി

And shall lay you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave in you one stone upon another; because you knew not the time of your visitation.നിന്നെയും നിന്നിലുള്ള നിന്റെ മക്കളെയും നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു, നിങ്കൽ കല്ലിന്മേൽ കല്ലു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്ന കാലം നിനക്കു വരും.

And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;പിന്നെ അവൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു വിൽക്കുന്നവരെ പുറത്താക്കിത്തുടങ്ങി:

Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but all of you have made it a den of thieves.എന്റെ ആലയം പ്രാർത്ഥനാലയം ആകും എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോ അതിനെ കള്ളന്മാരുടെ ഗുഹ ആക്കിത്തീർത്തു” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,അവൻ ദിവസേന ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചുപോന്നു; എന്നാൽ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും ജനത്തിൽ പ്രധാനികളായവരും അവനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തക്കം നോക്കി.

And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.എങ്കിലും ജനം എല്ലാം അവന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു രഞ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു അവർ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

Luke 20

And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,ആ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിൽ അവൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ജനത്തോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുമ്പോൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരുമായി അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു:

And spoke unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority do you these things? or who is he that gave you this authority?നീ എന്തു അധികാരംകൊണ്ടു ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു? ഈ അധികാരം നിനക്കു തന്നതു ആർ? ഞങ്ങളോടു പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:അതിന്നു ഉത്തരമായി അവൻ: “ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു വാക്കു ചോദിക്കും; അതു എന്നോടു പറവിൻ.

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നോ മനുഷ്യരിൽനിന്നോ ഉണ്ടായതു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed all of you him not?അവർ തമ്മിൽ നിരൂപിച്ചു: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിക്കും.

But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.മനുഷ്യരിൽനിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ ജനം ഒക്കെയും യോഹന്നാൻ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നു ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു നമ്മെ കല്ലെറിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു:

And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.എവിടെനിന്നോ ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.യേശു അവരോടു: “എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഇന്ന അധികാരം കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നില്ല ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.അനന്തരം അവൻ ജനത്തോടു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: “ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി കുടിയാന്മാരെ പാട്ടത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു ഏറിയ കാലം പരദേശത്തു പോയി പാർത്തു.

And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.സമയമായപ്പോൾ കുടിയാന്മാരോടു തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ അനുഭവം വാങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഒരു ദാസനെ അയച്ചു; അവനെ കുടിയാന്മാർ തല്ലി വെറുതെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and pleaded him shamefully, and sent him away empty.അവൻ മറ്റൊരു ദാസനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവനെയും അവർ തല്ലി അപമാനിച്ചു വെറുതെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.അവൻ മൂന്നാമതു ഒരുത്തനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവർ അവനെയും മുറിവേല്പിച്ചു പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.അപ്പോൾ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥൻ: ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? എന്റെ പ്രിയ പുത്രനെ അയക്കും; പക്ഷേ അവർ അവനെ ശങ്കിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.കുടിയാന്മാർ അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു: ഇവൻ അവകാശി; അവകാശം നമുക്കു ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവനെ കൊന്നുകളക എന്നു തമ്മിൽ ആലോചിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?അവർ അവനെ തോട്ടത്തിൽ നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥൻ അവരോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും?

He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.അവൻ വന്നു ആ കുടിയാന്മാരെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു തോട്ടം അന്യന്മാർക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും”. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ അങ്ങനെ ഒരുനാളും സംഭവിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?അവനോ അവരെ നോക്കി: “എന്നാൽ വീടുപണിയുന്നവർ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞ കല്ലു മൂലക്കല്ലായിത്തീർന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.ആ കല്ലിന്മേൽ വീഴുന്ന ഏവനും തകർന്നുപോകും; അതു ആരുടെ മേൽ എങ്കിലും വീണാൽ അവനെ ധൂളിപ്പിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.ഈ ഉപമ തങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു ആ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ അവന്റെ മേൽ കൈവെപ്പാൻ നോക്കി എങ്കിലും ജനത്തെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.പിന്നെ അവർ അവനെ നാടുവാഴിയുടെ അധീനതയിലും അധികാരത്തിലും ഏല്പിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ വാക്കിൽ പിടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തക്കം നോക്കി നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്നു നടിക്കുന്ന ഒറ്റുകാരെ അയച്ചു.

And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that you says and teach rightly, neither accept you the person of any, but teach the way of God truly:അവർ അവനോടു: ഗുരോ, നീ നേർ പറഞ്ഞു ഉപദേശിക്കയും മുഖപക്ഷം നോക്കാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി യഥാർത്ഥമായി പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു.

Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?നാം കൈസർക്കു കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt all of you me?അവരുടെ ഉപായം ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു അവൻ അവരോടു: “ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് കാണിപ്പിൻ;

Show me a penny. Whose image and superscription has it? They answered and said, Caesar's.അതിനുള്ള സ്വരൂപവും മേലെഴുത്തും ആരുടേതു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: കൈസരുടേതു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.എന്നാൽ കൈസർക്കുള്ളതു കൈസർക്കും ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിൻ ” എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.അങ്ങനെ അവർ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചു അവനെ വാക്കിൽ പിടിപ്പാൻ കഴിയാതെ അവന്റെ ഉത്തരത്തിൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന സദൂക്യരിൽ ചിലർ അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതു:

Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.ഗുരോ, ഒരുത്തന്റെ സഹോദരൻ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിട്ടു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു സഹോദരന്നു സന്തതിയെ ജനിപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.എന്നാൽ ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവരിൽ ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും അവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.അവ്വണ്ണം ഏഴുപേരും ചെയ്തു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

Last of all the woman died also.ഒടുവിൽ സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.എന്നാൽ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിൽ അവൾ അവരിൽ ഏവന്നു ഭാര്യയാകും? ഏഴുവർക്കും ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: “ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കയും വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:എങ്കിലും ആ ലോകത്തിന്നും മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നുള്ള പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്നും യോഗ്യരായവർ വിവാഹം കഴിയക്കയുമില്ല വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുകയുമില്ല; അവർക്കു ഇനി മരിപ്പാനും കഴികയില്ല.

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.അവൻ പുനരുത്ഥാനപുത്രന്മാരാകയാൽ ദൈവദൂതതുല്യരും ദൈവ പുത്രന്മാരും ആകുന്നു.

Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.മരിച്ചവർ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കുന്നു എന്നതോ മോശെയും മുൾപ്പടർപ്പുഭാഗത്തു കർത്താവിനെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും എന്നു പറയുന്നതിനാൽ സൂചിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.ദൈവമോ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ദൈവമല്ല, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദൈവമത്രേ; എല്ലാവരും അവന്നു ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, you have well said.അതിന്നു ചില ശാസ്ത്രിമാർ: ഗുരോ, നീ പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.പിന്നെ അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിപ്പാൻ അവർ തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?എന്നാൽ അവൻ അവരോടു: “ക്രിസ്തു ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

And David himself says in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit you on my right hand,“കർത്താവു എന്റെ കർത്താവിനോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദപീഠമാക്കുവോളം എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തിരിക്ക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു”

Till I make yours enemies your footstool.എന്നു സങ്കീർത്തനപുസ്തകത്തിൽ ദാവീദ് തന്നേ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

David therefore calls him Lord, how is he then his son?ദാവീദ് അവനെ കർത്താവു എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന്റെ പുത്രൻ ആകുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,എന്നാൽ ജനം ഒക്കെയും കേൾക്കെ അവൻ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു:

Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;നിലയങ്കികളോടെ നടപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കയും അങ്ങാടിയിൽ വന്ദനവും പള്ളിയിൽ മുഖ്യാസനവും അത്താഴത്തിൽ പ്രധാനസ്ഥലവും പ്രിയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

Which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.അവർ വിധവമാരുടെ വീടുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങുകയും ഉപായരൂപേണ ദീർഘമായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവർക്കു ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ശിക്ഷാവിധിവരും.

Luke 21

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.അവൻ തലപൊക്കി ധനവാന്മാർ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിൽ വഴിപാടു ഇടുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.ദരിദ്രയായോരു വിധവ രണ്ടു കാശു ഇടുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവൻ:

And he said, Truthfully I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than they all:“ഈ ദരിദ്രയായ വിധവ എല്ലാവരെക്കാളും അധികം ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായി നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her destitution has cast in all the living that she had.എല്ലാവരും തങ്ങളുടെ സമൃദ്ധിയിൽ നിന്നല്ലോ വഴിപാടു ഇട്ടതു; ഇവളോ തന്റെ ഇല്ലായ്മയിൽ നിന്നു തനിക്കുള്ള ഉപജീവനം ഒക്കെയും ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,ചിലർ ദൈവാലയത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അതു മനോഹരമായ കല്ലുകളാലും വഴിപാടുകളാലും അലങ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ:

As for these things which all of you behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.ഈ കാണുന്നതിൽ ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോകാതെ കല്ലു കല്ലിന്മേൽ ശേഷിക്കാത്ത കാലം വരും” എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?ഗുരോ, അതു എപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടാകും? അതു സംഭവിപ്പാറാകുമ്പോഴുള്ള ലക്ഷണം എന്തു എന്നു അവർ അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said, Take heed that all of you be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draws near: go all of you not therefore after them.അതിന്നു അവൻ: “ആരും നിങ്ങളെ തെറ്റിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ. ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു എന്നും സമയം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു അനേകർ എന്റെ പേരെടുത്തു വരും; അവരെ അനുഗമിക്കരുതു.

But when all of you shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.നിങ്ങൾ യുദ്ധങ്ങളെയും കലഹങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞെട്ടിപ്പോകരുതു; അതു ആദ്യം സംഭവിക്കേണ്ടതു തന്നേ. അവസാനം ഉടനെ അല്ലതാനും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:പിന്നെ അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ജാതി ജാതിയോടും രാജ്യം രാജ്യത്തോടും എതിർക്കും.

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.വലിയ ഭൂകമ്പവും ക്ഷാമവും മഹാവ്യാധികളും അവിടവിടെ ഉണ്ടാകും; ഭയങ്കരകാഴ്ചകളും ആകാശത്തിൽ മഹാ ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകും.

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.ഇതു എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും മുമ്പെ എന്റെ നാമംനിമിത്തം അവർ നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ കൈവെച്ചു രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെയും നാടുവാഴികളുടെയും മുമ്പിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും പള്ളികളിലും തടവുകളിലും ഏല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവാൻ തരം ആകും.

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what all of you shall answer:ആകയാൽ പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാൻ മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി വിചാരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മനസ്സിൽ ഉറെച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.നിങ്ങളുടെ എതിരികൾക്കു ആർക്കും ചെറുപ്പാനോ എതിർപറവാനോ കഴിയാത്ത വാക്കും ജ്ഞാനവും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരും.

And all of you shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.എന്നാൽ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരും സഹോദരന്മാരും ചാർച്ചക്കാരും ചങ്ങാതികളും നിങ്ങളെ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും നിങ്ങളിൽ ചിലരെ കൊല്ലിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

And all of you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.എന്റെ നാമം നിമിത്തം എല്ലാവരും നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കും.

But there shall not an hair of your head perish.നിങ്ങളുടെ തലയിലെ ഒരു രോമംപോലും നശിച്ചുപോകയില്ലതാനും.

In your patience possess all of you your souls.നിങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണനെ നേടും.

And when all of you shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.സൈന്യങ്ങൾ യെരൂശലേമിനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ ശൂന്യകാലം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ.

Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter therein.അന്നു യെഹൂദ്യയിലുള്ളവർ മലകളിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അതിന്റെ നടുവിലുള്ളവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകട്ടെ; നാട്ടുപുറങ്ങളിലുള്ളവർ അതിൽ കടക്കരുതു.

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ആ നാളുകൾ പ്രതികാരകാലം ആകുന്നു.

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.ആ കാലത്തു ഗർഭിണികൾക്കും മുല കുടിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! ദേശത്തു വലിയ ഞെരുക്കവും ഈ ജനത്തിന്മേൽ ക്രോധവും ഉണ്ടാകും.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.അവർ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ വീഴുകയും അവരെ സകലജാതികളിലേക്കും ബദ്ധരായി കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ജാതികളുടെ കാലം തികയുവോളം ജാതികൾ യെരൂശലേം ചവിട്ടിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യും.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;സൂര്യനിലും ചന്ദ്രനിലും നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളിലും ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകും; കടലിന്റെയും ഓളത്തിന്റെയും മുഴക്കം നിമിത്തം ഭൂമിയിലെ ജാതികൾക്കു നിരാശയോടു കൂടിയ പരിഭ്രമം ഉണ്ടാകും.

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.ആകാശത്തിന്റെ ശക്തികൾ ഇളകിപ്പോകുന്നതിനാൽ ഭൂലോകത്തിന്നു എന്തു ഭവിപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു പേടിച്ചും നോക്കിപ്പാർത്തുംകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യർ നിർജ്ജീവന്മാർ ആകും.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.അപ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ശക്തിയോടും മഹാതേജസ്സോടും കൂടെ മേഘത്തിൽ വരുന്നതു അവർ കാണും.

²⁸

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh.ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചുതുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പു അടുത്തുവരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിവിർന്നു തല പൊക്കുവിൻ.

And he spoke to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;ഒരുപമയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “അത്തി മുതലായ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളെയും നോക്കുവിൻ.

When they now shoot forth, all of you see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.അവ തളിർക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ കാണുമ്പോൾ വേനൽ അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വതവെ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

So likewise all of you, when all of you see these things come to pass, know all of you that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ഇതു സംഭവിക്കുന്നതു കാണുമ്പോൾ ദൈവരാജ്യം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിപ്പിൻ.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.സകലവും സംഭവിക്കുവോളം ഈ തലമുറ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല ” എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളോ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with worldly excess, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unexpectedly.നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം അതിഭക്ഷണത്താലും മദ്യപാനത്താലും ഉപജീവനചിന്തകളാലും ഭാരപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു ആ ദിവസം നിങ്ങൾക്കു പെട്ടെന്നു കണിപോലെ വരാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു കൊൾവിൻ.

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.അതു സർവ്വഭൂതലത്തിലും വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവർക്കും വരും.

³⁶

Watch all of you therefore, and pray always, that all of you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.ആകയാൽ ഈ സംഭവിപ്പാനുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും ഒഴിഞ്ഞു പോകുവാനും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നില്പാനും നിങ്ങൾ പ്രാപ്തരാകേണ്ടതിന്നു സദാകാലവും ഉണർന്നും പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരിപ്പിൻ.

And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.അവൻ ദിവസേന പകൽ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചുപോന്നു; രാത്രി ഓലിവ്മലയിൽ പോയി പാർക്കും.

And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, in order to hear him.ജനം എല്ലാം അവന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതികാലത്തു ദൈവലായത്തിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലും.
