Genesis 9

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറവിൻ.

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.നിങ്ങളെയുള്ള പേടിയും നടുക്കവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകൾക്കും സകല ഭൂചരങ്ങൾക്കും സുമദ്രത്തിലെ സകലമത്സ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ഉണ്ടാകും; അവയെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആഹാരം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; പച്ച സസ്യംപോലെ ഞാൻ സകലവും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall all of you not eat.പ്രാണനായിരിക്കുന്ന രക്തത്തോടുകൂടെ മാത്രം നിങ്ങൾ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു.

And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണാനായിരിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്തത്തിന്നു ഞാൻ പകരം ചോദിക്കും; സകലമൃഗത്തോടും മനുഷ്യനോടും ചോദിക്കും; അവനവന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു പകരം ചോദിക്കും.

Whoso sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.ആരെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യന്റെ രക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ചാൽ അവന്റെ രക്തം മനുഷ്യൻ ചൊരിയിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിലല്ലോ മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതു.

And you, be all of you fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകുവിൻ; ഭൂമിയിൽ അനവധിയായി പെറ്റു പെരുകുവിൻ.

And God spoke unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,ദൈവം പിന്നെയും നോഹയോടും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;ഞാൻ, ഇതാ, നിങ്ങളോടും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിയോടും

And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.ഭൂമിയിൽ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ള പക്ഷികളും കന്നുകാലികളും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളുമായ സകല ജീവജന്തുക്കളോടും പെട്ടകത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട സകലവുമായി ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങളോടും ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.ഇനി സകലജഡവും ജലപ്രളയത്താൽ നശിക്കയില്ല; ഭൂമിയെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ഇനി ജലപ്രളയം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:പിന്നെയും ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഉള്ള സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മിൽ തലമുറതലമുറയോളം സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ചെയ്യുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്റെ അടയാളം ആവിതു:

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.ഞാൻ എന്റെ വില്ലു മേഘത്തിൽ വെക്കുന്നു; അതു ഞാനും ഭൂമിയും തമ്മിലുള്ള നിയമത്തിന്നു അടയാളമായിരിക്കും.

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ മേഘം വരുത്തുമ്പോൾ മേഘത്തിൽ വില്ലു കാണും.

¹⁵

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.അപ്പോൾ ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും സർവ്വജഡവുമായ സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മിലുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം ഞാൻ ഓർക്കും; ഇനി സകല ജഡത്തെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളം ഒരു പ്രളയമായി തീരുകയുമില്ല.

And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.വില്ലു മേഘത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടാകും; ദൈവവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സർവ്വ ജഡവുമായ സകല ജീവികളും തമ്മിൽ എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള നിയമം ഓർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അതിനെ നോക്കും.

And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സർവ്വ ജഡത്തോടും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്നു ഇതു അടയാളം എന്നും ദൈവം നോഹയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And the sons of Noah, that went out of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.പെട്ടകത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടവരായ നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ ശേമും ഹാമും യാഫെത്തും ആയിരുന്നു; ഹാം എന്നവനോ കനാന്റെ പിതാവു.

These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.ഇവർ മൂവരും നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ; അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും നിറഞ്ഞു.

And Noah began to be an farmer, and he planted a vineyard:നോഹ കൃഷിചെയ്‍വാൻ തുടങ്ങി; ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി.

And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.അവൻ അതിലെ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചു തന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ വസ്ത്രം നീങ്ങി കിടന്നു.

And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.കനാന്റെ പിതാവായ ഹാം പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടു വെളിയിൽ ചെന്നു തന്റെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരെയും അറിയിച്ചു.

And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.ശേമും യാഫെത്തും ഒരു വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു, ഇരുവരുടെയും തോളിൽ ഇട്ടു വിമുഖരായി ചെന്നു പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത മറെച്ചു; അവരുടെ മുഖം തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടില്ല.

And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.നോഹ ലഹരിവിട്ടുണർന്നപ്പോൾ തന്റെ ഇളയ മകൻ ചെയ്തതു അറിഞ്ഞു.

²⁵

And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: കനാൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു അധമദാസനായ്തീരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁶

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.ശേമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; കനാൻ അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും.

²⁷

God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.ദൈവം യാഫെത്തിനെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ ശേമിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ വസിക്കും; കനാൻ അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.ജലപ്രളയത്തിന്റെ ശേഷം നോഹ മുന്നൂറ്റമ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.നോഹയുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ആകെ തൊള്ളായിരത്തമ്പതു സംവത്സരമായിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവൻ മരിച്ചു.

Genesis 10

Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരായ ശേം, ഹാം, യാഫെത്ത് എന്നവരുടെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു: ജലപ്രളയത്തിന്റെ ശേഷം അവർക്കു പുത്രന്മാർ ജനിച്ചു.

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.യാഫെത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഗോമെർ, മാഗോഗ്, മാദായി, യാവാൻ, തൂബൽ, മേശെക്, തീരാസ്.

And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.ഗോമെരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: അസ്കെനാസ്, രീഫത്ത്, തോഗർമ്മാ.

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.യാവാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: എലീശാ, തർശീശ്, കിത്തീം, ദോദാനീം.

By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.ഇവരാൽ ജാതികളുടെ ദ്വീപുകൾ അതതു ദേശത്തിൽ ഭാഷഭാഷയായും ജാതിജാതിയായും കുലംകുലമായും പിരിഞ്ഞു.

And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.ഹാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: കൂശ്, മിസ്രയീം, പൂത്ത്, കനാൻ.

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.കൂശിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: സെബാ, ഹവീലാ, സബ്താ, രമാ, സബ്തെക്കാ; രമയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ശെബയും ദെദാനും.

And Cush brings forth Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.കൂശ് നിമ്രോദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; അവൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ ആദ്യവീരനായിരുന്നു.

He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നായാട്ടു വീരനായിരുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു: യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിമ്രോദിനെപ്പോലെ നായാട്ടു വീരൻ എന്നു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലായി.

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.അവന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭം ശിനാർദേശത്തു ബാബേൽ, ഏരെക്ക്, അക്കാദ്, കൽനേ എന്നിവ ആയിരുന്നു.

Out of that land went forth Asshur, and built Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,ആ ദേശത്തനിന്നു അശ്ശൂർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു നീനവേ, രെഹോബത്ത് പട്ടണം, കാലഹ്,

And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.നീനവെക്കും കാലഹിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ മഹാനഗരമായ രേശെൻ എന്നിവ പണിതു.

And Mizraim brings forth Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,മിസ്രയീമോ; ലൂദീം, അനാമീം, ലെഹാബീം, നഫ്തൂഹീം, പത്രൂസീം, കസ്ളൂഹീം--

¹⁴

And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.ഇവരിൽനിന്നു ഫെലിസ്ഥ്യർ ഉത്ഭവിച്ചു-- കഫ്തോരീം എന്നിവരെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Canaan brings forth Sidon his first born, and Heth,കനാൻ തന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ സീദോൻ, ഹേത്ത്,

¹⁶

And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,യെബൂസ്യൻ, അമോർയ്യൻ,

¹⁷

And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,ഗിർഗ്ഗശ്യൻ, ഹിവ്യൻ, അർക്ക്യൻ, സീന്യൻ,

¹⁸

And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.അർവ്വാദ്യൻ, സെമാർയ്യൻ, ഹമാത്യൻ എന്നിവരെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. പിന്നീടു കനാന്യവംശങ്ങൾ പരന്നു.

And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you come to Gerar, unto Gaza; as you go, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.കനാന്യരുടെ അതിർ സീദോൻ തുടങ്ങി ഗെരാർവഴിയായി ഗസ്സാവരെയും സൊദോമും ഗൊമോരയും ആദ്മയും സെബോയീമും വഴിയായി ലാശവരെയും ആയിരുന്നു.

These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.ഇവർ അതതു ദേശത്തിൽ ജാതിജാതിയായും കുലംകുലമായും ഭാഷഭാഷയായും ഹാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ.

Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.ഏബെരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കൊക്കെയും പിതാവും യാഫെത്തിന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠനുമായ ശേമിന്നും പുത്രന്മാർ ജനിച്ചു.

The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.ശേമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഏലാം, അശ്ശൂർ, അർപ്പക്ഷാദ്, ലൂദ്, അരാം.

And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.അരാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഊസ്, ഹൂൾ, ഗേഥെർ, മശ്.

²⁴

And Arphaxad brings forth Salah; and Salah brings forth Eber.അർപ്പക്ഷാദ് ശാലഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ശാലഹ് ഏബെരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

²⁵

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.ഏബെരിന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ ജനിച്ചു; ഒരുത്തുന്നു പേലെഗ് എന്നു പേർ; അവന്റെ കാലത്തായിരുന്നു ഭൂവാസികൾ പിരിഞ്ഞുപോയതു; അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു യൊക്താൻ എന്നു പേർ.

²⁶

And Joktan brings forth Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,യൊക്താനോ: അല്മോദാദ്,

²⁷

And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,ശാലെഫ്, ഹസർമ്മാവെത്ത്, യാരഹ്, ഹദോരാം,

²⁸

And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,ഊസാൽ, ദിക്ളാ, ഓബാൽ, അബീമയേൽ,

²⁹

And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.ശെബാ, ഓഫീർ, ഹവീലാ, യോബാബ് എന്നിവരെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഇവർ എല്ലാവരും യൊക്താന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു.

And their dwelling was from Mesha, as you go unto Sephar a mount of the east.അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലം മേശാതുടങ്ങി കിഴക്കൻ മലയായ സെഫാർവരെ ആയിരുന്നു.

These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.ഇവർ അതതു ദേശത്തിൽ ജാതിജാതിയായും കുലംകുലമായും ഭാഷഭാഷയായും ശേമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.ഇവർ തന്നേ ജാതിജാതിയായും കുലംകുലമായും നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ വംശങ്ങൾ. അവരിൽനിന്നാകുന്നു ജലപ്രളയത്തിന്റെശേഷം ഭൂമിയിൽ ജാതികൾ പിരിഞ്ഞുപോയതു.

Genesis 11

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.ഭൂമിയിൽ ഒക്കെയും ഒരേ ഭാഷയും ഒരേ വാക്കും ആയിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.എന്നാൽ അവർ കിഴക്കോട്ടു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു, ശിനാർദേശത്തു ഒരു സമഭൂമി കണ്ടു അവിടെ കുടിയിരുന്നു.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and bitumen had they for mortar.അവർ തമ്മിൽ: വരുവിൻ, നാം ഇഷ്ടക അറുത്തു ചുടുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ഇഷ്ടക കല്ലായും പശമണ്ണു കുമ്മായമായും ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.വരുവിൻ, നാം ഭൂതലത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും ചിതറിപ്പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ ഒരു പട്ടണവും ആകാശത്തോളം എത്തുന്ന ഒരു ഗോപുരവും പണിക; നമുക്കു ഒരു പേരുമുണ്ടാക്കുക എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.മനുഷ്യർ പണിത പട്ടണവും ഗോപുരവും കാണോണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു.

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ: ഇതാ, ജനം ഒന്നു അവർക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും ഭാഷയും ഒന്നു; ഇതും അവർ ചെയ്തു തുടങ്ങുന്നു; അവർ ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതൊന്നും അവർക്കു അസാദ്ധ്യമാകയില്ല.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.വരുവിൻ; നാം ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു, അവർ തമ്മിൽ ഭാഷതിരിച്ചറിയാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവരുടെ ഭാഷ കലക്കിക്കളക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ അവരെ അവിടെനിന്നു ഭൂതലത്തിലെങ്ങും ചിന്നിച്ചു; അവർ പട്ടണം പണിയുന്നതു വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലെയും ഭാഷ യഹോവ അവിടെവെച്ചു കലക്കിക്കളകയാൽ അതിന്നു ബാബേൽ എന്നു പേരായി; യഹോവ അവരെ അവിടെനിന്നു ഭൂതലത്തിൽ എങ്ങും ചിന്നിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and brings forth Arphaxad two years after the flood:ശേമിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു: ശേമിന്നു നൂറു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ ജലപ്രളയത്തിന്നു പിമ്പു രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അർപ്പക്ഷാദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Shem lived after he brings forth Arphaxad five hundred years, and brings forth sons and daughters.അർപ്പക്ഷാദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം ശേം അഞ്ഞൂറു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Arphaxad lived after he brings forth Salah four hundred and three years, and brings forth sons and daughters.ശാലഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം അർപ്പക്ഷാദ് നാനൂറ്റിമൂന്നു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Salah lived thirty years, and brings forth Eber:ശാലഹിന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഏബെരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Reu lived after he brings forth Serug two hundred and seven years, and brings forth sons and daughters.ശെരൂഗിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം രെയൂ ഇരുനൂറ്റേഴു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Serug lived thirty years, and brings forth Nahor:ശെരൂഗിന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ നാഹോരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Serug lived after he brings forth Nahor two hundred years, and brings forth sons and daughters.നാഹോരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം ശേരൂഗ് ഇരുനൂറു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and brings forth Terah:നാഹോരിന്നു ഇരുപത്തൊമ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ തേരഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Nahor lived after he brings forth Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and brings forth sons and daughters.തേരഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം നാഹോർ നൂറ്റി പത്തൊമ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Terah lived seventy years, and brings forth Abram, Nahor, and Haran.തേരഹിന്നു എഴുപതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ അബ്രാം, നാഹോർ, ഹാരാൻ എന്നിവരെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah brings forth Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran brings forth Lot.തേരഹിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു: തേരഹ് അബ്രാമിനെയും നാഹോരിനെയും ഹാരാനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഹാരാൻ ലോത്തിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.എന്നാൽ ഹാരാൻ തന്റെ ജന്മദേശത്തുവെച്ചു, കൽദയരുടെ ഒരു പട്ടണമായ ഊരിൽവെച്ചു തന്നേ, തന്റെ അപ്പനായ തേരഹിന്നു മുമ്പെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.അബ്രാമും നാഹോരും ഭാര്യമാരെ എടുത്തു; അബ്രാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യക്കു സാറായി എന്നും നാഹോരിന്റെ ഭാര്യക്കു മിൽക്കാ എന്നും പേർ. ഇവൾ മിൽക്കയുടെയും യിസ്കയുടെയും അപ്പനായ ഹാരാന്റെ മകൾ തന്നെ.

But Sarai was barren; she had no child.സാറായി മച്ചിയായിരുന്നു; അവൾക്കു സന്തതി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.തേരഹ് തന്റെ മകനായ അബ്രാമിനെയും ഹാരാന്റെ മകനായ തന്റെ പൌത്രൻ ലോത്തിനെയും തന്റെ മകനായ അബ്രാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായി മരുമകളായ സാറായിയെയും കൂട്ടി കൽദയരുടെ പട്ടണമായ ഊരിൽനിന്നു കനാൻ ദേശത്തേക്കു പോകുവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ ഹാരാൻ വരെ വന്നു അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.തേരഹിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ഇരുനൂറ്റഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; തേരഹ് ഹാരാനിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, unto a land that I will show you:യഹോവ അബ്രാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെയും ചാർച്ചക്കാരെയും പിതൃഭവനത്തെയും വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കാണിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തെക്കു പോക.

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing:ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വലിയോരു ജാതിയാക്കും; നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നിന്റെ പേർ വലുതാക്കും; നീ ഒരു അനുഗ്രഹമായിരിക്കും.

And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും. നിന്നെ ശപിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ ശപിക്കും; നിന്നിൽ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകല വംശങ്ങളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അബ്രാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ലോത്തും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; ഹാരാനിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ അബ്രാമിന്നു എഴുപത്തഞ്ചു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had got in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.അബ്രാം തന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറായിയെയും സഹോദരന്റെ മകനായ ലോത്തിനെയും തങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ സമ്പത്തുകളെയൊക്കെയും തങ്ങൾ ഹാരാനിൽ വെച്ചു സമ്പാദിച്ച ആളുകളെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു കനാൻ ദേശത്തേക്കു പോകുവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു കനാൻ ദേശത്തു എത്തി.

And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.അബ്രാം ശേഖേമെന്ന സ്ഥലംവരെയും ഏലോൻ മോരെവരെയും ദേശത്തുകൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു. അന്നു കനാന്യൻ ദേശത്തു പാർത്തിരുന്നു.

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto your seed will I give this land: and there built he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.യഹോവ അബ്രാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി: നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കു ഞാൻ ഈ ദേശം കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു. തനിക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ യഹോവെക്കു അവൻ അവിടെ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു.

And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he built an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.അവൻ അവിടെനിന്നു ബേഥേലിന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള മലെക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ബേഥേൽ പടിഞ്ഞാറും ഹായി കിഴക്കുമായി കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു; അവിടെ അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ആരാധിച്ചു.

And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.അബ്രാം പിന്നെയും തെക്കോട്ടു യാത്രചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.ദേശത്തു ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായി; ദേശത്തു ക്ഷാമം കഠിനമായി തീർന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അബ്രാം മിസ്രയീമിൽ ചെന്നുപാർപ്പാൻ അവിടേക്കു പോയി.

And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that you are a fair woman to look upon:മിസ്രയീമിൽ എത്തുമാറായപ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യ സാറായിയോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇതാ, നീ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീയെന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see you, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save you alive.മിസ്രയീമ്യർ നിന്നെ കാണുമ്പോൾ ഇവൾ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നെകൊല്ലുകയും നിന്നെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

Say, I pray you, you are my sister: that it may be well with me for your sake; and my soul shall live because of you.നീ എന്റെ സഹോദരിയെന്നു പറയേണം; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം എനിക്കു നന്മവരികയും ഞാൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.അങ്ങനെ അബ്രാം മിസ്രയീമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ സ്ത്രീ അതി സുന്ദരി എന്നു മിസ്രയീമ്യർ കണ്ടു.

The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.ഫറവോന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അവളെ കണ്ടു, ഫറവോന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അവളെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു; സ്ത്രീ ഫറവോന്റെ അരമനയിൽ പോകേണ്ടിവന്നു.

And he pleaded Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and male servants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.അവളുടെ നിമിത്തം അവൻ അബ്രാമിന്നു നന്മ ചെയ്തു; അവന്നു ആടുമാടുകളും ആൺകഴുതകളും ദാസന്മാരും ദാസിമാരും പെൺകഴുതകളും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.അബ്രാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറായിനിമിത്തം യഹോവ ഫറവോനെയും അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെയും അത്യന്തം ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that you have done unto me? why did you not tell me that she was your wife?അപ്പോൾ ഫറവോൻ അബ്രാമിനെ വിളിച്ചു: നീ എന്നോടു ഈ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? അവൾ നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയെന്നു എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

Why said you, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold your wife, take her, and go your way.അവൾ എന്റെ സഹോദരിയെന്നു എന്തിന്നു പറഞ്ഞു? ഞാൻ അവളെ ഭാര്യയായിട്ടു എടുപ്പാൻ സംഗതി വന്നുപോയല്ലോ; ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ഭാര്യ; അവളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.ഫറവോൻ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്റെ ആളുകളോടു കല്പിച്ചു; അവർ അവനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും അവന്നുള്ള സകലവുമായി പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.
