Genesis 25

Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.അബ്രാഹാം വേറൊരു ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവൾക്കു കെതൂറാ എന്നു പേർ.

And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.അവൾ സിമ്രാൻ, യൊക്ശാൻ, മെദാൻ, മിദ്യാൻ, യിശ്ബാക്, ശൂവഹ് എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

And Jokshan brings forth Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.യൊക്ശാൻ ശെബയെയും ദെദാനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ദെദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ അശ്ശൂരീം, ലെത്തൂശീം, ലെയുമ്മീം എന്നിവർ.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.മിദ്യാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ഏഫാ, ഏഫെർ, ഹനോക്, അബീദാ, എൽദാഗാ എന്നിവർ. ഇവർ എല്ലാവരും കെതൂറയുടെ മക്കൾ.

And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.എന്നാൽ അബ്രാഹാം തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ മക്കൾക്കോ അബ്രാഹാം ദാനങ്ങൾ കൊടുത്തു; താൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ അവരെ തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു കിഴക്കോട്ടു കിഴക്കുദേശത്തേക്കു അയച്ചു.

And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റെഴുപത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു.

Then Abraham gave up the spirit, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.അബ്രാഹാം വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂർണ്ണനുമായി നല്ല വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർന്നു.

And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ യിസ്ഹാക്കും യിശ്മായേലും കൂടി മമ്രേക്കരികെ സോഹരിന്റെ മകനായ എഫ്രോനെന്ന ഹിത്യന്റെ നിലത്തു മക്ക്പേലാഗുഹയിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യരോടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയ നിലത്തു തന്നേ; അവിടെ അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെയും അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.അബ്രാഹാം മരിച്ചശേഷം ദൈവം അവന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ബേർലഹയിരോയീക്കരികെ പാർത്തു.

Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:സാറയുടെ മിസ്രയീമ്യദാസി ഹാഗാർ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യം അവരുടെ വംശാവലിപ്രകാരം പേരുപേരായി യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകൾ ആവിതു:

And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ നെബായോത്ത്,

And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,കേദാർ, അദ്ബെയേൽ, മിബ്ശാം, മിശ്മാ, ദൂമാ,

Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:മശ്ശാ, ഹദാദ്, തേമാ, യെതൂർ, നാഫീശ്, കേദെമാ.

These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.പന്ത്രണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ അവരുടെ ഊരുകളിലും പാളയങ്ങളിലും വംശംവംശമായി ഇവർ ആകുന്നു; അവരുടെ പേരുകൾ ഇവ തന്നേ.

And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the spirit and died; and was gathered unto his people.യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റി മുപ്പത്തേഴു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർന്നു.

And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as you go toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.ഹവീലാ തുടങ്ങി അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന വഴിയിൽ മിസ്രയീമിന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള ശൂർവരെ അവർ കുടിയിരുന്നു; അവൻ തന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാർക്കും എതിരെ പാർത്തു.

And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham brings forth Isaac:അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു: അബ്രാഹാം യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു നാല്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിലുള്ള അരാമ്യനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ പുത്രിയും അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാന്റെ സഹോദരിയുമായ റിബെക്കയെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

And Isaac implored the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was implored of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.തന്റെ ഭാര്യ മച്ചിയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവൾക്കു വേണ്ടി യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേട്ടു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ റിബെക്കാ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു.

And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.അവളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ ശിശുക്കൾ തമ്മിൽ തിക്കിയപ്പോൾ അവൾ: ഇങ്ങനെയായാൽ ഞാൻ എന്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യഹോവയോടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ പോയി.

And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in your womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from your bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.യഹോവ അവളോടു: രണ്ടുജാതികൾ നിന്റെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടു. രണ്ടു വംശങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ ഉദരത്തിൽനിന്നു തന്നേ പിരിയും; ഒരു വംശം മറ്റേ വംശത്തിലും ശക്തിപ്പെടും മൂത്തവൻ ഇളയവനെ സേവിക്കും. എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.അവൾക്കു പ്രസവകാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഇരട്ടപ്പിള്ളകൾ അവളുടെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ ചുവന്നവനായി പുറത്തുവന്നു, മേൽ മുഴുവനും രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വസ്ത്രംപോലെ ഇരുന്നു; അവന്നു ഏശാവ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.പിന്നെ അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ പുറത്തുവന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ ഏശാവിന്റെ കുതികാൽ പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവന്നു യാക്കോബ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. അവൾ അവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചപ്പോൾ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു അറുപതു വയസ്സു ആയിരുന്നു.

And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.കുട്ടികൾ വളർന്നു; ഏശാവ് വേട്ടയിൽ സമർത്ഥനും വനസഞ്ചാരിയും യാക്കോബ് സാധുശീലനും കൂടാരവാസിയും ആയിരുന്നു.

And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.ഏശാവിന്റെ വേട്ടയിറച്ചിയിൽ രുചിപിടിച്ചരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക്ക്ക് അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു; റിബെക്കയോ യാക്കോബിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

And Jacob cook pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:ഒരിക്കൽ യാക്കോബ് ഒരു പായസം വെച്ചു; ഏശാവ് വെളിൻ പ്രദേശത്തു നിന്നു വന്നു; അവൻ നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray you, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.ആ ചുവന്ന പായസം കുറെ എനിക്കു തരേണം; ഞാൻ നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു ഏദോം (ചുവന്നവൻ ) എന്നു പേരായി.

And Jacob said, Sell me this day your birthright.നിന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം ഇന്നു എനിക്കു വിൽകുക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു.

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?അതിന്നു ഏശാവ്: ഞാൻ മരിക്കേണ്ടിവരുമല്ലോ; ഈ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം എനിക്കു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.ഇന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു; തന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം യാക്കോബിന്നു വിറ്റു.

Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.യാക്കോബ് ഏശാവിന്നു അപ്പവും പയറുകൊണ്ടുള്ള പായസവും കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തു, എഴുന്നേറ്റുപോയി; ഇങ്ങനെ ഏശാവ് ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശത്തെ അലക്ഷ്യമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

Genesis 26

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ കാലത്തുണ്ടായ മുമ്പിലത്തെ ക്ഷാമം കൂടാതെ പിന്നെയും ആ ദേശത്തു ഒരു ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായി. അപ്പോൾ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ഗെരാരിൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ രാജാവായ അബീമേലെക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി.

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell you of:യഹോവ അവന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോകരുതു; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തു പാർക്ക.

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for unto you, and unto your seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham your father;ഈ ദേശത്തു താമസിക്ക; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും; നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും ഈ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും തരും; നിന്റെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു ഞാൻ ചെയ്ത സത്യം നിവർത്തിക്കും.

And I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;അബ്രാഹാം എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു എന്റെ നിയോഗവും കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും പ്രമാണങ്ങളും ആചരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കു ഈ ദേശമൊക്കെയും കൊടുക്കും; നിന്റെ സന്തതിമുഖാന്തരം ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:അങ്ങനെ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ഗെരാരിൽ പാർത്തു.

And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.ആ സ്ഥലത്തെ ജനം അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു; അവൾ എന്റെ സഹോദരിയെന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു; റിബെക്കാ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ളവളാകകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തെ ജനം അവളുടെ നിമിത്തം തന്നേ കൊല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൾ എന്റെ ഭാര്യ എന്നു പറവാൻ അവൻ ശങ്കിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.അവൻ അവിടെ ഏറെക്കാലം പാർത്തശേഷം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ രാജാവായ അബീമേലെക്ക് കിളിവാതിൽക്കൽ കൂടി നോക്കി യിസ്ഹാക്ക് തന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ റിബെക്കയോടുകൂടെ വിനോദിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, certainly she is your wife; and how said you, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.അബീമേലെക്ക് യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ വിളിച്ചു: അവൾ നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയാകുന്നു നിശ്ചയം; പിന്നെ എന്റെ സഹോദരിയെന്നു നീ പറഞ്ഞതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവനോടു: അവളുടെ നിമിത്തം മരിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ ആകുന്നു ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abimelech said, What is this you have done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with your wife, and you should have brought guiltiness upon us.അപ്പോൾ അബീമേലെക്: നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു ഈ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? ജനത്തിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടുകൂടെ ശയിപ്പാനും നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ കുറ്റം വരുത്തുവാനും സംഗതി വരുമായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.പിന്നെ അബീമേലെക്: ഈ പുരുഷനെയോ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയോ തൊടുന്നവന്നു മരണശിക്ഷ ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു സകലജനത്തോടും കല്പിച്ചു.

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ആ ദേശത്തു വിതെച്ചു; ആയാണ്ടിൽ നൂറുമേനി വിളവു കിട്ടി; യഹോവ അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:അവൻ വർദ്ധിച്ചു വർദ്ധിച്ചു മഹാധനവാനായിത്തീർന്നു.

For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.അവന്നു ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങളും മാട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങളും വളരെ ദാസീദാസന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഫെലിസ്ത്യർക്കു അവനോടു അസൂയ തോന്നി.

For all the wells which his father's servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ കാലത്തു അവന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ കുഴിച്ചിരുന്ന കിണറൊക്കെയും ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ മണ്ണിട്ടു നികത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for you are much mightier than we.അബീമേലെക്ക് യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു: നീ ഞങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ഏറ്റവും ബലവാനാകകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.അങ്ങനെ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഗേരാർതാഴ്വരയിൽ കൂടാരമടിച്ചു, അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

And Isaac dug again the wells of water, which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.തന്റെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ കാലത്തു കുഴിച്ചതും അബ്രാഹാം മരിച്ചശേഷം ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ നികത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞതുമായ കിണറുകൾ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് പിന്നെയും കുഴിച്ചു തന്റെ പിതാവു അവെക്കു ഇട്ടിരുന്ന പേർ തന്നേ ഇട്ടു.

And Isaac's servants dug in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ ആ താഴ്വരയിൽ കുഴിച്ചു നീരുറവുള്ള ഒരു കിണറ് കണ്ടു.

And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.അപ്പോൾ ഗെരാർദേശത്തിലെ ഇടയന്മാർ: ഈ വെള്ളം ഞങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ഇടയന്മാരോടു ശണ്ഠയിട്ടു; അവർ തന്നോടു ശണ്ഠയിട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ആ കിണറ്റിനു ഏശെക്ക് എന്നു പേർ വിളിച്ചു.

And they dug another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.അവർ മറ്റൊരു കിണറു കുഴിച്ചു; അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും അവർ ശണ്ഠയിട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അതിന്നു സിത്നാ എന്നു പേർ വിളിച്ചു.

And he removed from thence, and dug another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.അവൻ അവിടെനിന്നു മാറിപ്പോയി മറ്റൊരു കിണറ് കുഴിച്ചു; അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവർ ശണ്ഠയിട്ടില്ല. യഹോവ ഇപ്പോൾ നമുക്കു ഇടം ഉണ്ടാക്കി നാം ദേശത്തു വർദ്ധിക്കുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൻ അതിന്നു രെഹോബോത്ത് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

And he went up from thence to Beersheba.അവിടെ നിന്നു അവൻ ബേർ-ശേബെക്കു പോയി.

And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:ഏശാവിന്നു നാല്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഹിത്യനായ ബേരിയുടെ മകൾ യെഹൂദീത്തിനെയും ഹിത്യനായ ഏലോന്റെ മകൾ ബാസമത്തിനെയും ഭാര്യമാരായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

Genesis 27

Bring me venison, and make me savoury food, that I may eat, and bless you before the LORD before my death.ഞാൻ എന്റെ മരണത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ തിന്നു നിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ വേട്ടയിറച്ചി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു രുചികരമായ ഭോജനം ഉണ്ടാക്കിത്തരിക എന്നു പറയുന്നതു ഞാൻ കേട്ടു.

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command you.ആകയാൽ മകനേ, നീ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു ചെയ്ക.

And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD your God brought it to me.യിസ്ഹാക്ക് തന്റെ മകനോടു: മകനേ, നിനക്കു ഇത്ര വേഗത്തിൽ കിട്ടിയതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്റെ നേർക്കു വരുത്തിത്തന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray you, that I may feel you, my son, whether you be my very son Esau or not.യിസ്ഹാക്ക് യാക്കോബിനോടു: മകനെ, അടുത്തുവരിക; നീ എന്റെ മകനായ ഏശാവു തന്നേയോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാൻ തപ്പിനോക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു അടുത്തു ചെന്നു; അവൻ അവനെ തപ്പിനോക്കി: ശബ്ദം യാക്കോബിന്റെ ശബ്ദം; കൈകൾ ഏശാവിന്റെ കൈകൾ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.അവന്റെ കൈകൾ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ കൈകൾ പോലെ രോമമുള്ളവയാകകൊണ്ടു അവൻ തിരിച്ചറിയാതെ അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless you. And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD has blessed:അവൻ അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു; അവൻ അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങളുടെ വാസന മണത്തു അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇതാ, എന്റെ മകന്റെ വാസന യഹോവ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വയലിലെ വാസനപോലെ.

Therefore God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:ദൈവം ആകാശത്തിന്റെ മഞ്ഞും ഭൂമിയുടെ പുഷ്ടിയും അനവധി ധന്യവും വീഞ്ഞും നിനക്കു തരുമാറാകട്ടെ.

And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.യിസ്ഹാക്ക് യാക്കോബിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ഉടനെ അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ഏശാവ് വേട്ടകഴിഞ്ഞു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

And Isaac his father said unto him, Who are you? And he said, I am your son, your firstborn Esau.അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവനോടു: നീ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മകൻ, നിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ ഏശാവ് എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that has taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before you came, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.അപ്പോൾ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അത്യന്തം ഭ്രമിച്ചു നടുങ്ങി: എന്നാൽ വേട്ടതേടി എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവൻ ആർ? നീ വരുംമുമ്പെ ഞാൻ സകലവും തിന്നു അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനുമാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.ഏശാവ് അപ്പന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അതി ദുഃഖിതനായി ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു: അപ്പാ, എന്നെ, എന്നെയും കൂടെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ എന്നു അപ്പനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Your brother came with subtlety, and has taken away your blessing.അതിന്നു അവൻ: നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ഉപായത്തോടെ വന്നു നിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം അപഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he has supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he has taken away my blessing. And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him your lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto you, my son?യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ഏശാവിനോടു: ഞാൻ അവനെ നിനക്കു പ്രഭുവാക്കി അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു ദാസന്മാരാക്കി; അവന്നു ധാന്യവും വീഞ്ഞുംകൊടുത്തു; ഇനി നിനക്കു ഞാൻ എന്തു തരേണ്ടു മകനേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Esau said unto his father, Have you but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.ഏശാവ് പിതാവിനോടു: നിനക്കു ഒരു അനുഗ്രഹം മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളുവോ, അപ്പാ? എന്നെ, എന്നെയും കൂടെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ, അപ്പാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പൊട്ടിക്കരഞ്ഞു.

And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;എന്നാറെ അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ഉത്തരമായിട്ടു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിന്റെ വാസം ഭൂമിയിലെ പുഷ്ടിക്കുടാതെയും മീതെ ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞു കൂടാതെയും ഇരിക്കും.

And by your sword shall you live, and shall serve your brother; and it shall come to pass when you shall have the dominion, that you shall break his yoke from off your neck.നിന്റെ വാളുകൊണ്ടു നീ ഉപജീവിക്കും; നിന്റെ സഹോദരനെ നീ സേവിക്കും. നിന്റെ കെട്ടു അഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുമ്പോൾ നീ അവന്റെ നുകം കഴുത്തിൽനിന്നു കുടഞ്ഞുകളയും.

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.തന്റെ അപ്പൻ യാക്കോബിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ച അനുഗ്രഹം നിമിത്തം ഏശാവു അവനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു: അപ്പനെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്ന കാലം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യാക്കോബിനെ കൊല്ലും എന്നു ഏശാവു ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, your brother Esau, as concerning you, does comfort himself, purposing to kill you.മൂത്തമകനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ വാക്കു റിബെക്കാ അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ, അവൾ ഇളയമകനായ യാക്കോബിനെ ആളയച്ചു വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ഏശാവ് നിന്നെ കൊന്നു പകവീട്ടുവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു.

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; arise, flee you to Laban my brother to Haran;ആകയാൽ മകനേ: എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്ക: നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഹാരാനിൽ എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോക.

And tarry with him a few days, until your brother's fury turn away;നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ ക്രോധം ശമിക്കുവോളം കുറെ നാൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പാർക്ക.

Until your brother's anger turn away from you, and he forget that which you have done to him: then I will send, and fetch you from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു നിന്നോടുള്ള കോപം മാറി നീ അവനോടു ചെയ്തതു അവൻ മറക്കുംവരെ അവിടെ താമസിക്ക; പിന്നെ ഞാൻ ആളയച്ചു നിന്നെ അവിടെ നിന്നു വരുത്തിക്കൊള്ളാം; ഒരു ദിവസം തന്നേ നിങ്ങൾ ഇരുവരും എനിക്കു ഇല്ലാതെയാകുന്നതു എന്തിനു?

And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?പിന്നെ റിബെക്കാ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു: ഈ ഹിത്യസ്ത്രീകൾ നിമിത്തം എന്റെ ജീവൻ എനിക്കു അസഹ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഈ ദേശക്കാരത്തികളായ ഇവരെപ്പോലെയുള്ള ഒരു ഹിത്യ സ്ത്രീയെ യാക്കോബ് വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ എന്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു? എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Genesis 28

Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father; and take you a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother.പുറപ്പെട്ടു പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിൽ നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ അപ്പനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ പുത്രിമാരിൽ നിന്നു നിനക്കു ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്ക.

And God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a multitude of people;സർവ്വശക്തനായ ദൈവം നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും നീ ജനസമൂഹമായി തീരത്തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്നെ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനായി പെരുക്കുകയും

And give you the blessing of Abraham, to you, and to your seed with you; that you may inherit the land wherein you are a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു കൊടുത്തതും നീ പരദേശിയായി പാർക്കുന്നതുമായ ദേശം നീ കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും തരികയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ.

And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padanaram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.അങ്ങനെ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് യാക്കോബിനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവൻ പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിൽ അരാമ്യനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകനും യാക്കോബിന്റെയും ഏശാവിന്റെയും അമ്മയായ റിബെക്കയുടെ സഹോദരനുമായ ലാബാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി.

When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;യിസ്ഹാക്ക് യാക്കോബിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ എടുപ്പാൻ അവനെ അവിടെക്കു അയച്ചതും, അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുമ്പോൾ: നീ കനാന്യസ്ത്രീകളിൽനിന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കരുതെന്നു അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചതും

And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram;യാക്കോബ് അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും അനുസരിച്ചു പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിലേക്കു പോയതും ഏശാവ് അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ,

And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;കനാന്യസ്ത്രീകൾ തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളവരല്ല എന്നു കണ്ടു

Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.ഏശാവ് യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു തനിക്കുള്ള ഭാര്യമാരെ കൂടാതെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ മകളും നെബായോത്തിന്റെ സഹോദരിയുമായ മഹലത്തിനെയും വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു.

And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.എന്നാൽ യാക്കോബ് ബേർ-ശേബയിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഹാരാനിലേക്കു പോയി.

And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.അവൻ ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോൾ സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവിടെ രാപാർത്തു; അവൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്തെ കല്ലുകളിൽ ഒന്നു എടുത്തു തലയണയായി വെച്ചു അവിടെ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി.

And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.അവൻ ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു: ഇതാ, ഭൂമിയിൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കോവണി; അതിന്റെ തല സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോളം എത്തിയിരുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാർ അതിന്മേൽകൂടി കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങുകയുമായിരുന്നു.

And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed;അതിന്മീതെ യഹോവ നിന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും, യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവുമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു; നീ കിടക്കുന്ന ഭൂമിയെ ഞാൻ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും തരും.

And your seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in you and in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.നിന്റെ സന്തതി ഭൂമിയിലെ പൊടിപോലെ ആകും; നീ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും പരക്കും; നീ മുഖാന്തരവും നിന്റെ സന്തതി മുഖാന്തരവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലവംശങ്ങളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in all places where you go, and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken to you of.ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുണ്ടു; നീ പോകുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നിന്നെ കാത്തു ഈ രാജ്യത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ മടക്കിവരുത്തും; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കൈവിടാതെ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവർത്തിക്കും.

And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.അപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബ് ഉറക്കമുണർന്നു: യഹോവ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടു സത്യം; ഞാനോ അതു അറിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is no other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.അവൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു: ഈ സ്ഥലം എത്ര ഭയങ്കരം! ഇതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നല്ല; ഇതു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.യാക്കോബ് അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു തലയണയായി വെച്ചിരുന്ന കല്ലു എടുത്തു തൂണായി നിർത്തി, അതിന്മേൽ എണ്ണ ഒഴിച്ചു.

And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.അവൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ബേഥേൽ എന്നു പേർവിളിച്ചു; ആദ്യം ആ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു ലൂസ് എന്നു പേരായിരുന്നു.

And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,യാക്കോബ് ഒരു നേർച്ചനേർന്നു: ദൈവം എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കയും ഞാൻ പോകുന്ന ഈ യാത്രയിൽ എന്നെ കാക്കുകയും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആഹാരവും ധരിപ്പാൻ വസ്ത്രവും എനിക്കു തരികയും

So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:എന്നെ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു സൌഖ്യത്തോടെ മടക്കി വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ യഹോവ എനിക്കു ദൈവമായിരിക്കും.

And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that you shall give me I will surely give the tenth unto you.ഞാൻ തൂണായി നിർത്തിയ ഈ കല്ലു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയവും ആകും. നീ എനിക്കു തരുന്ന സകലത്തിലും ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ദശാംശം തരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
