Psalms 16

Preserve me, O God: for in you do I put my trust.ദൈവമേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ശരണം ആക്കിയിരിക്കയാൽ എന്നെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളേണമേ,

O my soul, you have said unto the LORD, You are my Lord: my goodness extends not to you;ഞാൻ യഹോവയോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ എന്റെ കർത്താവാകുന്നു; നീ ഒഴികെ എനിക്കു ഒരു നന്മയും ഇല്ല.

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.ഭൂമിയിലെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരോ അവർ എനിക്കു പ്രസാദമുള്ള ശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാർ തന്നേ.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.അന്യദേവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവരുടെ വേദനകൾ വർദ്ധിക്കും; അവരുടെ രക്തപാനീയബലികളെ ഞാൻ അർപ്പിക്കയില്ല; അവരുടെ നാമങ്ങളെ എന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ എടുക്കയുമില്ല.

The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: you maintain my lot.എന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്റെയും പാനപാത്രത്തിന്റെയും പങ്കു യഹോവ ആകുന്നു; നീ എനിക്കുള്ള ഓഹരിയെ പരിപാലിക്കുന്നു.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.അളവുനൂൽ എനിക്കു മനോഹരദേശത്തു വീണിരിക്കുന്നു; അതേ, എനിക്കു നല്ലോരവകാശം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.എനിക്കു ബുദ്ധി ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്ന യഹോവയെ ഞാൻ വാഴ്ത്തും; രാത്രികാലങ്ങളിലും എന്റെ അന്തരംഗം എന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു.

I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.ഞാൻ യഹോവയെ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോകയില്ല.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope.അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ഹൃദയം സന്തോഷിച്ചു എന്റെ മനസ്സു ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജഡവും നിർഭയമായി വസിക്കും.

For you will not leave my soul in hell; neither will you suffer yours Holy One to see corruption.നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ പാതാളത്തിൽ വിടുകയില്ല. നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ദ്രവത്വം കാണ്മാൻ സമ്മതിക്കയുമില്ല.

You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.ജീവന്റെ വഴി നീ എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരും; നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ സന്തോഷപരിപൂർണ്ണതയും നിന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു എന്നും പ്രമോദങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടു.

Psalms 17

Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goes not out of feigned lips.യഹോവേ, ന്യായത്തെ കേൾക്കേണമേ, എന്റെ നിലവിളിയെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണമേ. കപടമില്ലാത്ത അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥനയെ ചെവിക്കൊള്ളേണമേ.

Let my sentence come forth from your presence; let yours eyes behold the things that are equal.എനിക്കുള്ള വിധി നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടട്ടെ; നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നേർ കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ.

You have proved mine heart; you have visited me in the night; you have tried me, and shall find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.നീ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ശോധനചെയ്തു രാത്രിയിൽ എന്നെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു; നീ എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു ദുരുദ്ദേശമൊന്നും കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ വായ് ലംഘനം ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Concerning the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.മനുഷ്യരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ വചനത്താൽ നിഷ്ഠൂരന്റെ പാതകളെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചൊഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

Hold up my activities in your paths, that my footsteps slip not.എന്റെ നടപ്പു നിന്റെ ചുവടുകളിൽ തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു; എന്റെ കാൽ വഴുതിയതുമില്ല.

I have called upon you, for you will hear me, O God: incline yours ear unto me, and hear my speech.ദൈവമേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എനിക്കുത്തരമരുളുമല്ലോ; നിന്റെ ചെവി എങ്കലേക്കു ചായിച്ചു എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേൾക്കേണമേ.

Show your marvellous loving kindness, O you that save by your right hand them which put their trust in you from those that rise up against them.നിന്നെ ശരണമാക്കുന്നവരെ അവരോടു എതിർക്കുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു നിന്റെ വലങ്കയ്യാൽ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്റെ അത്ഭുതകാരുണ്യം കാണിക്കേണമേ.

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings,കണ്ണിന്റെ കൃഷ്ണമണിപോലെ എന്നെ കാക്കേണമേ; എന്നെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന്മാരും

From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.എന്നെ ചുറ്റിവളയുന്ന പ്രാണശത്രുക്കളും എന്നെ പിടിക്കാതവണ്ണം നിന്റെ ചിറകിന്റെ നിഴലിൽ എന്നെ മറെച്ചുകൊള്ളേണമേ.

They are enclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വായികൊണ്ടു വമ്പു പറയുന്നു.

They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലടി തുടർന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടുവാൻ ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കുന്നു.

Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is your sword:യഹോവേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനോടെതിർത്തു അവനെ തള്ളിയിടേണമേ. യഹോവേ, എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിന്റെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു ദുഷ്ടന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും

From men which are your hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly you fill with your hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.തൃക്കൈകൊണ്ടു ലൌകികപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നും വിടുവിക്കേണമേ; അവരുടെ ഓഹരി ഈ ആയുസ്സിൽ അത്രേ; നിന്റെ സമ്പത്തുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവരുടെ വയറു നിറെക്കുന്നു; അവർക്കു പുത്രസമ്പത്തു ധാരാളം ഉണ്ടു; തങ്ങളുടെ ധനശിഷ്ടം അവർ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾക്കു വെച്ചേക്കുന്നു.

As for me, I will behold your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with your likeness.ഞാനോ, നീതിയിൽ നിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ കാണും; ഞാൻ ഉണരുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ രൂപം കണ്ടു തൃപ്തനാകും.

Psalms 18

I will love you, O LORD, my strength.എന്റെ ബലമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.യഹോവ എന്റെ ശൈലവും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും എന്റെ രക്ഷകനും എന്റെ ദൈവവും ഞാൻ ശരണമാക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പാറയും എന്റെ പരിചയും എന്റെ രക്ഷയായ കൊമ്പും എന്റെ ഗോപുരവും ആകുന്നു.

I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.സ്തൂത്യനായ യഹോവയെ ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കയും എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.മരണപാശങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ചുറ്റി; അഗാധപ്രവാഹങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.പാതാളപാശങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വളഞ്ഞു; മരണത്തിന്റെ കണികളും എന്നെ തുടർന്നു പിടിച്ചു.

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഞാൻ യഹോവയെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു, എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവൻ തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു; തിരുമുമ്പിൽ ഞാൻ കഴിച്ച പ്രാർത്ഥന അവന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ എത്തി.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was angry.ഭൂമി ഞെട്ടിവിറെച്ചു; മലകളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ഇളകി; അവൻ കോപിക്കയാൽ അവകുലുങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.അവന്റെ മൂക്കിൽനിന്നു പുക പൊങ്ങി; അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു തീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു. തീക്കനൽ അവങ്കൽനിന്നു ജ്വലിച്ചു.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.അവൻ ആകാശം ചായിച്ചിറങ്ങി; കൂരിരുൾ അവന്റെ കാൽക്കീഴുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.അവൻ കെരൂബിനെ വാഹനമാക്കി പറന്നു; അവൻ കാറ്റിന്റെ ചിറകിന്മേലിരുന്നു പറപ്പിച്ചു.

He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.അവൻ അന്ധകാരത്തെ തന്റെ മറവും ജലതമസ്സിനെയും ആകാശമേഘങ്ങളെയും തനിക്കു ചുറ്റും കൂടാരവുമാക്കി.

At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.അവന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള പ്രകാശത്താൽ ആലിപ്പഴവും തീക്കനലും അവന്റെ മേഘങ്ങളിൽകൂടി പൊഴിഞ്ഞു.

The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.യഹോവ ആകാശത്തിൽ ഇടി മുഴക്കി, അത്യുന്നതൻ തന്റെ നാദം കേൾപ്പിച്ചു, ആലിപ്പഴവും തീക്കനലും പൊഴിഞ്ഞു.

Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and humiliated them.അവൻ അസ്ത്രം എയ്തു അവരെ ചിതറിച്ചു; മിന്നൽ അയച്ചു അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു.

Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ ഭർത്സനത്താലും നിന്റെ മൂക്കിലെ ശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ ഊത്തിനാലും നീർത്തോടുകൾ കാണായ്‍വന്നു ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെട്ടു.

He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.അവൻ ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു കൈ നീട്ടി എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു, പെരുവെള്ളത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്നെ വലിച്ചെടുത്തു

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.ബലമുള്ള ശത്രുവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും എന്നെ പകെച്ചവരുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നും അവൻ എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു; അവർ എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവരായിരുന്നു.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.എന്റെ അനർത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ അവർ എന്നെ ആക്രമിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ എനിക്കു തുണയായിരുന്നു.

¹⁹

He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.അവൻ എന്നെ വിശാലതയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; എന്നിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു.

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands has he recompensed me.യഹോവ എന്റെ നീതിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം എനിക്കു പ്രതിഫലം നല്കി; എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ വെടിപ്പിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം എനിക്കു പകരം തന്നു.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു; എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തതുമില്ല.

For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.അവന്റെ വിധികൾ ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ വിട്ടുനടന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.

I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരുന്നു; അകൃത്യം ചെയ്യാതെ എന്നെത്തന്നേ കാത്തു.

²⁴

Therefore has the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.യഹോവ എന്റെ നീതിപ്രകാരവും അവന്റെ കാഴ്ചയിൽ എന്റെ കൈകൾക്കുള്ള വെടിപ്പിൻ പ്രകാരവും എനിക്കു പകരം നല്കി.

With the merciful you will show yourself merciful; with an upright man you will show yourself upright;ദയാലുവോടു നീ ദയാലു ആകുന്നു; നഷ്കളങ്കനോടു നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കൻ;

²⁶

With the pure you will show yourself pure; and with the perverse you will show yourself perverse.നിർമ്മലനോടു നീ നിർമ്മലനാകുന്നു; വക്രനോടു നീ വക്രത കാണിക്കുന്നു.

²⁷

For you will save the afflicted people; but will bring down high looks.എളിയജനത്തെ നീ രക്ഷിക്കും; നിഗളിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നവരെ നീ താഴ്ത്തും.

²⁸

For you will light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.നീ എന്റെ ദീപത്തെ കത്തിക്കും; എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്റെ അന്ധകാരത്തെ പ്രകാശമാക്കും.

²⁹

For by you I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.നിന്നാൽ ഞാൻ പടക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലും; എന്റെ ദൈവത്താൽ ഞാൻ മതിൽ ചാടിക്കടക്കും.

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി തികവുള്ളതു; യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ഊതിക്കഴിച്ചതു; തന്നെ ശരണമാക്കുന്ന ഏവർക്കും അവൻ പരിചയാകുന്നു.

For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?യഹോവയല്ലാതെ ദൈവം ആരുള്ളു? നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം ഒഴികെ പാറയാരുള്ളു?

It is God that girds me with strength, and makes my way perfect.എന്നെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടു അരമുറുക്കുകയും എന്റെ വഴി കുറവുതീർക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ദൈവം തന്നേ.

He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me upon my high places.അവൻ എന്റെ കാലുകളെ മാൻ പേടക്കാല്ക്കു തുല്യമാക്കി, എന്റെ ഗിരികളിൽ എന്നെ നില്ക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു.

He teaches my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.അവൻ എന്റെ കൈകൾക്കു യുദ്ധാഭ്യാസം വരുത്തുന്നു; എന്റെ ഭുജങ്ങൾ താമ്രചാപം കുലെക്കുന്നു.

³⁵

You have also given me the shield of your salvation: and your right hand has held me up, and your gentleness has made me great.നിന്റെ രക്ഷ എന്ന പരിചയെ നീ എനിക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ എന്നെ താങ്ങി നിന്റെ സൌമ്യത എന്നെ വലിയവനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

You have enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.ഞാൻ കാലടി വെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ വിശാലതവരുത്തി; എന്റെ നരിയാണികൾ വഴുതിപ്പോയതുമില്ല.

³⁷

I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I return till they were consumed.ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ പിന്തുടർന്നു പിടിച്ചു; അവരെ മുടിക്കുവോളം ഞാൻ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല.

³⁸

I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.അവർക്കു എഴുന്നേറ്റുകൂടാതവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവരെ തകർത്തു; അവർ എന്റെ കാൽകീഴിൽ വീണിരിക്കുന്നു.

For you have girded me with strength unto the battle: you have subdued under me those that rose up against me.യുദ്ധത്തിന്നായി നീ എന്റെ അരെക്കു ശക്തി കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു എതിർത്തവരെ എനിക്കു കീഴടക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

You have also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ സംഹരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ എനിക്കു പുറംകാട്ടുമാറാക്കി.

They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.അവർ നിലവിളിച്ചു; രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആരുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവൻ ഉത്തരമരുളിയതുമില്ല.

Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.ഞാൻ അവരെ കാറ്റത്തെ പൊടിപോലെ പൊടിച്ചു; വീഥികളിലെ ചെളിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ അവരെ കോരിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; and you have made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.ജനത്തിന്റെ കലഹങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു നീ എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു; ജാതികൾക്കു എന്നെ തലവനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അറിയാത്ത ജനം എന്നെ സേവിക്കുന്നു.

⁴⁴

As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.അവർ കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ എന്നെ അനുസരിക്കും; അന്യജാതിക്കാർ എന്നോടു അനുസരണഭാവം കാണിക്കും.

The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.അന്യജാതിക്കാർ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അവർ വിറെച്ചും കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു.

The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.യഹോവ ജീവിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പാറ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ; എന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ ദൈവം ഉന്നതൻ തന്നേ.

He delivers me from mine enemies: yea, you lift me up above those that rise up against me: you have delivered me from the violent man.അവൻ ശത്രുവശത്തുനിന്നു എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു എതിർക്കുന്നവർക്കു മീതെ നീ എന്നെ ഉയർത്തുന്നു; സാഹസക്കാരന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു നീ എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore will I give thanks unto you, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto your name.അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യും; നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഞാൻ കീർത്തിക്കും.

Great deliverance gives he to his king; and shows mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.അവൻ തന്റെ രാജാവിന്നു മഹാരക്ഷ നല്കുന്നു; തന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്നു ദയ കാണിക്കുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്നും അവന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും എന്നേക്കും തന്നേ.
