My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.സഹോദരന്മാരേ, തേജസ്സുള്ളവനായി നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങൾ മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിക്കരുതു.

For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;നിങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളിയിൽ മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും പൊന്മോതിരം ഇട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനും മുഷിഞ്ഞ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചോരു ദരിദ്രനും വന്നാൽ

And all of you have respect to him that wears the cheerful clothing, and say unto him, Sit you here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand you there, or sit here under my footstool:നിങ്ങൾ മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചവനെ നോക്കി: ഇവിടെ സുഖേന ഇരുന്നാലും എന്നും ദരിദ്രനോടു: നീ അവിടെ നിൽക്ക; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ പാദപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ ഇരിക്ക എന്നും പറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ

Are all of you not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?നിങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളിൽ പ്രാമാണമില്ലാതെ ന്യായരഹിതമായി വിധിക്കുന്നവരായില്ലയോ?

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to them that love him?പ്രിയ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ: ദൈവം ലോകത്തിൽ ദരിദ്രരായവരെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ സമ്പന്നരും തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ അവകാശികളുമാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളോ ദരിദ്രനെ അപമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

But all of you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?ധനവാന്മാർ അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു? അവർ അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ ന്യായസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതു?

Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which all of you are called?നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നല്ല നാമത്തെ അവർ അല്ലയോ ദുഷിക്കുന്നതു?

If all of you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbour as yourself, all of you do well:എന്നാൽ “കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം” എന്ന തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം രാജകീയന്യായപ്രമാണം നിങ്ങൾ നിവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നന്നു.

But if all of you have respect to persons, all of you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിച്ചാലോ പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ലംഘനക്കാർ എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ തെളിയുന്നു.

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.ഒരുത്തൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണം മുഴുവനും അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നിട്ടും ഒന്നിൽ തെറ്റിയാൽ അവൻ സകലത്തിന്നും കുറ്റക്കാരനായിത്തീർന്നു.

For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചവൻ കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നീ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിക്കുന്നവനായിത്തീർന്നു.

So speak all of you, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ വിധിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ സംസാരിക്കയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും ചെയ്വിൻ.

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that has showed no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.കരുണ കാണിക്കാത്തവന്നു കരുണയില്ലാത്ത ന്യായവിധി ഉണ്ടാകും; കരുണ ന്യായവിധിയെ ജയിച്ചു പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു.

What does it profit, my brethren, though a man say he has faith, and have not works? can faith save him?സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഒരുത്തൻ തനിക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയും പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ ഉപകാരം എന്തു? ആ വിശ്വാസത്താൽ അവൻ രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കുമോ?

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,ഒരു സഹോദരനോ, സഹോദരിയോ നഗ്നരും അഹോവൃത്തിക്കു വക ഇല്ലാത്ത വരുമായിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ അവരോടു:

And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be all of you warmed and filled; notwithstanding all of you give them not those things which are necessary to the body; what does it profit?സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി തീ കായുകയും വിശപ്പടക്കുകയും ചെയ്വിൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ ദേഹരക്ഷെക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ ഉപകാരം എന്തു?

Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വാസവും പ്രവൃത്തികളില്ലാത്തതായാൽ സ്വതവെ നിർജ്ജീവമാകുന്നു.

Yea, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൻ: നിനക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടു; എനിക്കു പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറയുമായിരിക്കും. നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ കൂടാതെ കാണിച്ചുതരിക; ഞാനും എന്റെ വിശ്വാസം പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ കാണിച്ചു തരാം.

You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble.ദൈവം ഏകൻ എന്നു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ; കൊള്ളാം; പിശാചുകളും അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും വിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?വ്യർത്ഥമനുഷ്യാ, പ്രവൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസം നിഷ്ഫലമെന്നു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടോ?

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ അർപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ അല്ലയോ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു?

See you how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയോടുകൂടെ വിശ്വാസം വ്യാപരിച്ചു എന്നും പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ വിശ്വാസം പൂർണ്ണമായി എന്നും നീ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിടുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തു നിവൃത്തിയായി അവൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതൻ എന്നു പേർ പ്രാപിച്ചു.

All of you see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യൻ വെറും വിശ്വാസത്താലല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ തന്നേ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്നു.

Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?അവ്വണ്ണം രാഹാബ് എന്ന വേശ്യയും ദൂതരെ കൈക്കൊൾകയും വേറൊരു വഴിയായി പറഞ്ഞയക്കയും ചെയ്തതിൽ പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ അല്ലയോ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു?

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.ഇങ്ങനെ ആത്മാവില്ലത്ത ശരീരം നിർജ്ജീവമായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പ്രവൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസവും നിർജ്ജീവമാകുന്നു.
