Nehemiah 3

Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they built the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.അങ്ങനെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ എല്യാശീബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു ആട്ടിൻ വാതിൽ പണിതു: അവർ അതു പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു അതിന്റെ കതകുകളും വെച്ചു; ഹമ്മേയാഗോപുരംവരെയും ഹനനയേൽഗോപുരംവരെയും അവർ അതു പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

And next unto him built the men of Jericho. And next to them built Zaccur the son of Imri.അവർ പണിതതിന്നപ്പുറം യെരീഹോക്കാർ പണിതു; അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം ഇമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ സക്കൂർ പണിതു.

But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.മീൻ വാതിൽ ഹസ്സെനായക്കാർ പണിതു; അവർ അതിന്റെ പടികൾ വെച്ചു കതകും ഓടാമ്പലും അന്താഴവും ഇണക്കി.

And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം ഹക്കോസിന്റെ മകനായ ഊരീയാവിന്റെ മകൻ മെരേമോത്ത് അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു. അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം മെശേസ്സബെയേലിന്റെ മകനായ ബേരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ മെശുല്ലാം അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു. അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം ബാനയുടെ മകൻ സാദോക്ക്ക് അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their LORD.അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം തെക്കോവ്യർ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു; എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാർ കർത്താവിന്റെ വേലെക്കു ചുമൽ കൊടുത്തില്ല.

Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.പഴയവാതിൽ പാസേഹയുടെ മകനായ യോയാദയും ബെസോദ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ മെശുല്ലാമും അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു; അവർ അതിന്റെ പടികൾ വെച്ചു കതകും ഓടാമ്പലും അന്താഴവും ഇണക്കി.

And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം ഗിബെയോന്യനായ മെലത്യാവും മെരോനോഥ്യനായ യാദോനും ഗിബെയോന്യരും മിസ്പായരും നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെയുള്ള ദേശാധിപതിയുടെ ന്യായാസനസ്ഥലംവരെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.അതിന്നപ്പുറം തട്ടാന്മാരിൽ ഹർഹയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഉസ്സീയേൽ അറ്റംകുറ്റം തീർത്തു. അവന്റെ അപ്പുറം തൈലക്കാരിൽ ഒരുവനായ ഹനന്യാവു അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു വീതിയുള്ള മതിൽവരെ യെരൂശലേമിനെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം യെരൂശലേം ദേശത്തിന്റെ പാതിക്കു പ്രഭുവായ ഹൂരിന്റെ മകൻ രെഫായാവു അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even opposite to his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.അവരുടെ അപ്പുറം ഹരൂമഫിന്റെ മകൻ യെദായാവു തന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നു നേരെയുള്ള ഭാഗം അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു; അവന്റെ അപ്പുറം ഹശബ്നെയാവിന്റെ മകൻ ഹത്തൂശ് അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.മറ്റൊരു ഭാഗവും ചൂളകളുടെ ഗോപുരവും ഹാരീമിന്റെ മകൻ മൽക്കീയാവും പഹത്ത്-മോവാബിന്റെ മകൻ ഹശ്ശൂബും അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.അവന്റെ അപ്പുറം യെരൂശലേംദേശത്തിന്റെ മറ്റെ പാതിക്കു പ്രഭുവായ ഹല്ലോഹേശിന്റെ മകൻ ശല്ലൂമും അവന്റെ പുത്രിമാരും അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.താഴ്വരവാതിൽ ഹനൂനും സാനോഹ് നിവാസികളും അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു: അവർ അതു പണിതു അതിന്റെ കതകും ഓടാമ്പലും അന്താഴവും ഇണക്കി കുപ്പ വാതിൽവരെ മതിൽ ആയിരം മുഴം കേടുപോക്കി.

But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.കുപ്പവാതിൽ ബേത്ത്-ഹഖേരെംദേശത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുവായ രേഖാബിന്റെ മകൻ മൽക്കീയാവു അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു; അവൻ അതു പണിതു അതിന്റെ കതകും ഓടാമ്പലും അന്താഴവും ഇണക്കി.

But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king's garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.ഉറവുവാതിൽ മിസ്പാദേശത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുവായ കൊൽ-ഹോസെയുടെ മകനായ ശല്ലൂൻ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു; അവൻ അതു പണിതു മേച്ചൽ കഴിച്ചു കതകും ഓടാമ്പലും അന്താഴവും ഇണക്കി രാജോദ്യാനത്തിന്റെ നീർപ്പാത്തിക്കരികെയുള്ള കുളത്തിന്റെ മതിലും ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുന്ന കല്പടിവരെ തീർത്തു.

After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place opposite to the sepulchers of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.അവന്റെ അപ്പുറം ബേത്ത്സൂർദേശത്തിന്റെ പാതിക്കു പ്രഭുവായ അസ്ബൂക്കിന്റെ മകൻ നെഹെമ്യാവു ദാവീദിന്റെ കല്ലറകളുടെ നേരെയുള്ള സ്ഥലംവരെയും വെട്ടിക്കുഴിച്ച കുളംവരെയും വീരന്മാരുടെ ആഗാരംവരെയും അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.അതിന്നപ്പുറം ലേവ്യരിൽ ബാനിയുടെ മകൻ രെഹൂം അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു. അവന്റെ അപ്പുറം കെയീലാദേശത്തിന്റെ പാതിക്കു പ്രഭുവായ ഹശബ്യാവു തന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ പേർക്കു അറ്റകുറ്റം തിർത്തു.

After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.അതിന്റെശേഷം അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ കെയീലാദേശത്തിന്റെ മറ്റെ പാതിക്കു പ്രഭുവായ ഹേനാദാദിന്റെ മകൻ ബവ്വായി അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece opposite to the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.അവന്റെ അപ്പുറം മിസ്പാപ്രഭുവായ യേശുവയുടെ മകൻ ഏസെർ കോണിങ്കലെ ആയുധശാലെക്കുള്ള കയറ്റത്തിന്നു നേരെ മറ്റൊരു ഭാഗം അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.അതിന്റെശേഷം സബ്ബായിയുടെ മകൻ ബാരൂക്ക് ആ കോണുതുടങ്ങി മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ എല്യാശീബിന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽവരെ മറ്റൊരു ഭാഗം ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ഹക്കോസിന്റെ മകനായ ഊരീയാവിന്റെ മകൻ മെരേമോത്ത് എല്യാശീബിന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽ തുടങ്ങി എല്യാശീബിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ അറ്റംവരെ മറ്റൊരു ഭാഗം അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.അതിന്റെശേഷം നാട്ടുപുറക്കാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub opposite to their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.അതിന്റെശേഷം ബെന്യാമീനും ഹശ്ശൂബും തങ്ങളുടെ വീട്ടിന്നു നേരെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അനന്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ മയസേയാവിന്റെ മകൻ അസർയ്യാവു തന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നരികെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.അതിന്റെശേഷം ഹേനാദാദിന്റെ മകൻ ബിന്നൂവി അസർയ്യാവിന്റെ വീടുമുതൽ കോണിന്റെ തിരിവുവരെ മറ്റൊരുഭാഗം അറ്റകുറ്റംതീർത്തു.

Palal the son of Uzai, opposite to the turning of the wall, and the tower which lies out from the king's high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.ഊസായിയുടെ മകൻ പാലാൽ കോണിന്നും കാരാഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ മുറ്റത്തോടു ചേർന്നതായി രാജധാനി കവിഞ്ഞു മുമ്പോട്ടു നില്ക്കുന്ന ഉന്നതഗോപുരത്തിന്നും നേരെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു; അതിന്റെശേഷം പരോശിന്റെ മകൻ പെദായാവു അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place opposite to the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lies out.ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാർ ഓഫേലിൽ കിഴക്കു നീർവ്വാതിലിന്നെതിരെയുള്ള സ്ഥലംമുതൽ കവിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്കുന്ന ഗോപുരംവരെ പാർത്തുവന്നു.

After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, opposite to the great tower that lies out, even unto the wall of Ophel.അതിന്റെശേഷം തെക്കോവ്യർ കവിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്കുന്ന വലിയ ഗോപുരത്തിന്നു നേരെ ഓഫേലിന്റെ മതിൽ വരെ മറ്റൊരു ഭാഗം അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one opposite to his house.കുതിരവാതിൽമുതൽ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നു നേരെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer opposite to his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ഇമ്മേരിന്റെ മകൻ സാദോക്ക് തന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നു നേരെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു. അതിന്റെശേഷം കിഴക്കെ വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാരനായ ശെഖന്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ ശെമയ്യാവു അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah opposite to his chamber.അതിന്റെശേഷം ശേലെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ ഹനന്യാവും സാലാഫിന്റെ ആറാമത്തെ മകൻ ഹാനൂനും മറ്റൊരു ഭാഗം അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു. അതിന്റെശേഷം ബേരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ മെശുല്ലാം തന്റെ അറയുടെ നേരെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith's son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, opposite to the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.അതിന്റെശേഷം തട്ടാന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനായ മൽക്കീയാവു ഹമ്മീഫ് ഖാദ്വാതിലിന്നു നേരെ ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരുടെയും കച്ചവടക്കാരുടെയും സ്ഥലംവരെയും കോണിങ്കലെ മാളികമുറിവരെയും അറ്റ കുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.കോണിങ്കലെ മാളികമുറിക്കും ആട്ടുവാതിലിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ തട്ടാന്മാരും കച്ചവടക്കാരും അറ്റകുറ്റം തിർത്തു.

Nehemiah 4

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we built the wall, he was angry, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.ഞങ്ങൾ മതിൽ പണിയുന്നു എന്നു സൻ ബല്ലത്ത് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവൻ കോപവും മഹാരോഷവും പൂണ്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാരെ നിന്ദിച്ചു.

And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?ഈ ദുർബ്ബലന്മാരായ യെഹൂദന്മാർ എന്തു ചെയ്‍വാൻ പോകുന്നു? അവരെ സമ്മതിക്കുമോ അവർ യാഗം കഴിക്കുമോ? ഒരു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു പണി തീർത്തുകളയുമോ? വെന്തുകിടക്കുന്ന ചണ്ടിക്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു അവർ കല്ലു ജീവിപ്പിക്കുമോ എന്നിങ്ങനെ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും ശമർയ്യാസൈന്യവും കേൾക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു.

Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.അപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നിരുന്ന അമ്മോന്യനായ തോബീയാവു: അവർ എങ്ങനെ പണിതാലും ഒരു കുറുക്കൻ കയറിയാൽ അവരുടെ കന്മതിൽ ഉരുണ്ടുവീഴും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമേ, കേൾക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്ദിതന്മാർ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ നിന്ദയെ അവരുടെ സ്വന്തതലയിലേക്കു തിരിച്ചു പ്രവാസദേശത്തിൽ അവരെ കവർച്ചെക്കു ഏല്പിക്കേണമേ.

And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before you: for they have provoked you to anger before the builders.പണിയുന്നവർ കേൾക്കെ അവർ നിന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ അവരുടെ അകൃത്യം മറെക്കരുതേ; അവരുടെ പാപം നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു മാഞ്ഞുപോകയും അരുതേ.

So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങൾ മതിൽ പണിതു; വേല ചെയ്‍വാൻ ജനത്തിന്നു ഉത്സാഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മതിൽ മഴുവനും പാതിപൊക്കംവരെ തീർത്തു.

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very angry,യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതിലുകൾ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർന്നുവരുന്നു എന്നും ഇടിവുകൾ അടഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി എന്നും സൻബല്ലത്തും തോബീയാവും അരാബ്യരും അമ്മോന്യരും അസ്തോദ്യരും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവർക്കു മഹാകോപം ജനിച്ചു.

And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നേരെ ചെന്നു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നും അവിടെ കലക്കം വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും അവർ ഒക്കെയും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി.

Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.ഞങ്ങളോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു; അവരുടെ നിമിത്തം രാവും പകലും കാവൽക്കാരെ ആക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.എന്നാൽ യെഹൂദ്യർ: ചുമട്ടുകാരുടെ ശക്തി ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; കല്ലും മണ്ണും ഇനിയും വളരെ കിടക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ മതിൽ പണിവാൻ നമുക്കു കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളോ: നാം അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചെന്നു അവരെ കൊന്നു പണി മുടക്കുന്നതുവരെ അവർ ഒന്നും അറികയും കാണുകയും അരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence all of you shall return unto us they will be upon you.അവരുടെ സമീപം പാർത്ത യെഹൂദന്മാർ പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും വന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവിൻ എന്നു പത്തു പ്രാവശ്യം ഞങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ മതിലിന്റെ പിമ്പുറത്തു പൊക്കം കുറഞ്ഞ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും തുറന്നുകിടക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ആളുകളെ ആക്കി ജനത്തെ കുടുംബം കുടുംബമായി വാളുകളോടും കുന്തങ്ങളോടും വില്ലുകളോടും കൂടെ നിർത്തി.

And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not all of you afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.ഞാൻ നോക്കി എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും പ്രമാണികളോടും ശേഷം ജനത്തോടും: നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ പേടിക്കേണ്ടാ; വലിയവനും ഭയങ്കരനുമായ കർത്താവിനെ ഓർത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കും പുത്രന്മാർക്കും പുത്രിമാർക്കും ഭാര്യമാർക്കും വീടുകൾക്കും വേണ്ടി പൊരുതുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nothing, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അറിവു കിട്ടിപ്പോയെന്നും ദൈവം അവരുടെ ആലോചനയെ നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കിയെന്നും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ കേട്ടശേഷം ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും മതിലിങ്കൽ താന്താന്റെ വേലെക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുവാനിടയായി.

And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.അന്നുമുതല്ക്കു എന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരിൽ പാതിപേർ വേലെക്കു നിന്നു പാതിപേർ കുന്തവും പരിചയും വില്ലും കവചവും ധരിച്ചു നിന്നു; മതിൽ പണിയുന്ന എല്ലാ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെയും പുറകിൽ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ നിന്നു;

They which built on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.ചുമടെടുക്കുന്ന ചുമട്ടുകാർ ഒരു കൈകൊണ്ടു വേല ചെയ്കയും മറ്റെ കൈകൊണ്ടു ആയുധം പിടിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so built. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.പണിയുന്നവർ അരെക്കു വാൾ കെട്ടിയുംകൊണ്ടു പണിതു. എന്നാൽ കാഹളം ഊതുന്നവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു.

And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another.ഞാൻ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും പ്രമാണികളോടും ശേഷംജനത്തോടും: വേല വലിയതും വിശാലമായതും ആകുന്നു; നാം മതിലിന്മേൽ ചിതറി തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

In what place therefore all of you hear the sound of the trumpet, resort all of you thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.നിങ്ങൾ കാഹളനാദം കേൾക്കുന്നേടത്തു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൂടിക്കൊൾവിൻ; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങൾ പണി നടത്തി; പാതിപേർ നേരം വെളുക്കുമ്പോൾതുടങ്ങി നക്ഷത്രം പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതുവരെ കുന്തം പിടിച്ചുനിന്നു.

Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.ആ കാലത്തു ഞാൻ ജനത്തോടു: രാത്രിയിൽ നമുക്കു കാവലിന്നും പകൽ വേല ചെയ്യുന്നതിന്നും ഉതകത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ വേലക്കാരനുമായി യെരൂശലേമിന്നകത്തു പാർക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.ഞാനോ എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോ എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരോ എന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള കാവൽക്കാരോ ആരും ഉടുപ്പു മാറിയില്ല; കുളിക്കുന്ന സമയത്തുകൂടെയും ആയുധം ധരിച്ചിരുന്നു.

Nehemiah 5

And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.ജനവും അവരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും യെഹൂദന്മാരായ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നേരെ വലിയ നിലവിളി കൂട്ടി:

For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.ഞങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരുമായി പലരാകകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഉപജീവനത്തിന്നു ധാന്യം വേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലരും

Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലങ്ങളും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും വീടുകളും പണയം എഴുതി ഈ ദുർഭിക്ഷകാലത്തു ധാന്യം വാങ്ങേണ്ടിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലരും

There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.രാജഭോഗം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ നിലങ്ങളിന്മേലും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളിന്മേലും പണം കടംമേടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു;

Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദേഹം ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ദേഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾ അവരുടെ മക്കളെപ്പോലെയും ആകുന്നുവെങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ദാസ്യത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കേണ്ടിവരുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരിൽ ചിലർ അടിമപ്പെട്ടു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വേറെ നിർവ്വാഹമില്ല; ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലങ്ങളും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും അന്യാധീനമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വേറെ ചിലരും പറഞ്ഞു.

And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.അവരുടെ നിലവിളിയും ഈ വാക്കുകളും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ എനിക്കു അതി കോപം വന്നു.

Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, All of you exact interest, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.ഞാൻ എന്റെ മനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു ആലോചിച്ചശേഷം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും പ്രമാണികളെയും ശാസിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനോടു പലിശ വാങ്ങുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അവർക്കു വിരോധമായി ഞാൻ ഒരു മഹായോഗം വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി.

And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will all of you even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.ജാതികൾക്കു വിറ്റിരുന്ന നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ യെഹൂദന്മാരെ നമ്മാൽ കഴിയുന്നേടത്തോളം നാം വീണ്ടെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോ നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ നമുക്കു വില്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരെ വീണ്ടും വില്പിപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നുവോ എന്നു ഞാൻ അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവർ ഒരു വാക്കും പറവാൻ കഴിയാതെ മൌനമായിരുന്നു.

Also I said, It is not good that all of you do: ought all of you not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?പിന്നെയും ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യം നന്നല്ല; നമ്മുടെ ശത്രുക്കളായ ജാതികളുടെ നിന്ദ ഓർത്തിട്ടെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു നടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ?

I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this interest.ഞാനും എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും എന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും അവർക്കു ദ്രവ്യവും ധാന്യവും കടം കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം ഈ പലിശ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളക.

Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their olive yards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that all of you exact of them.നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്നു തന്നേ അവരുടെ നിലങ്ങളും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും ഒലിവുതോട്ടങ്ങളും വീടുകളും മടക്കിക്കൊടുപ്പിൻ; ദ്രവ്യം, ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞ്, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയിൽ നൂറ്റിന്നു ഒന്നു വീതം നിങ്ങൾ അവരോടു വാങ്ങിവരുന്നതും അവർക്കു ഇളെച്ചുകൊടുപ്പിൻ.

Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as you says. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.അതിന്നു അവർ: ഞങ്ങൾ അവ മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കാം; ഇനി അവരോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിക്കയുമില്ല; നീ പറയുമ്പോലെ തന്നേ ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ പുരോഹിതന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു ഈ വാഗ്ദാനപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളാമെന്നു അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചു അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performs not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.ഞാൻ എന്റെ മടി കുടഞ്ഞു; ഈ വാഗ്ദാനം നിവർത്തിക്കാത്ത ഏവനെയും അവന്റെ വീട്ടിൽനിന്നും അവന്റെ സമ്പാദ്യത്തിൽനിന്നും ദൈവം ഇതുപോലെ കുടഞ്ഞുകളയട്ടെ; ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ കുടഞ്ഞും ഒഴിഞ്ഞും പോകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സർവ്വസഭയും: ആമേൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിച്ചു. ജനം ഈ വാഗ്ദാനപ്രകാരം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.ഞാൻ യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു അവരുടെ ദേശാധിപതിയായി നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ട നാൾമുതൽ അർത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാരാജാവിന്റെ ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടുമുതൽ തന്നേ, അവന്റെ മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ടാം ആണ്ടുവരെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം ഞാനും എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും ദേശാധിപതിക്കുള്ള അഹോവൃത്തി വാങ്ങിയില്ല.

But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പണ്ടത്തെ ദേശാധിപതികൾ ജനത്തിന്നു ഭാരമായിരുന്നു; നാല്പതു ശേക്കെൽ വെള്ളിവീതം വാങ്ങിയതു കൂടാതെ അപ്പവും വീഞ്ഞും കൂടെ അവരോടു വാങ്ങി; അവരുടെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്മേൽ കർത്തൃത്വം നടത്തിവന്നു; ഞാനോ ദൈവഭയം ഹേതുവായി അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തില്ല.

Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work.ഞാൻ ഈ മതിലിന്റെ വേലയിൽ തന്നേ ഉറ്റിരുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു നിലവും വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയില്ല; എന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും ഈ വേലയിൽ ചേർന്നു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുപോന്നു.

Moreover there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that are about us.യെഹൂദന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളുമായ നൂറ്റമ്പതുപേരല്ലാതെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നവരും എന്റെ മേശെക്കൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചുപോന്നു.

Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people.എനിക്കു ഒരു ദിവസത്തേക്കു ഒരു കാളയെയും വിശേഷമായ ആറു ആടിനെയും പാകം ചെയ്യും; പക്ഷികളെയും പാകം ചെയ്യും. പത്തു ദിവസത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കൽ സകലവിധ വീഞ്ഞും ധാരാളം കൊണ്ടുവരും; ഇങ്ങനെയൊക്കെയും വേണ്ടിയിരുന്നിട്ടും ഈ ജനം പെടുന്ന പാടു കഠിനമായിരുന്നതിനാൽ ദേശാധിപതിക്കുള്ള അഹോവൃത്തി ഞാൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടില്ല.

Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും എനിക്കു നന്മെക്കായിട്ടു ഓക്കേണമേ.
