Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം ഹെബ്രോനിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അസ്ഥിയും മാംസവും അല്ലോ.

And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, you were he that led out and brought in Israel: and the LORD your God said unto you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be ruler over my people Israel.മുമ്പെ ശൌൽ രാജാവായിരുന്ന കാലത്തും നീയായിരുന്നു നായകനായി യിസ്രായേലിനെ നടത്തിയതു: നീ എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ മേയ്ക്കയും എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവായിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുമുണ്ടു.

Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരൊക്കെയും ഹെബ്രോനിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; ദാവീദ് ഹെബ്രോനിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അവരോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു; ശമൂവേൽമുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു പോലെ അവർ ദാവീദിനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു.

And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.പിന്നെ ദാവീദും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും യെബൂസ് എന്ന യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ചെന്നു. അവിടെ ദേശനിവാസികളായ യെബൂസ്യർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, You shall not come here. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.യെബൂസ് നിവാസികൾ ദാവീദിനോടു: നീ ഇവിടെ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എങ്കിലും ദാവീദ് സീയോൻ കോട്ട പിടിച്ചു; അതു ആകുന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരം.

And David said, Whosoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ്: ആരെങ്കിലും യെബൂസ്യരെ ആദ്യം തോല്പിച്ചാൽ അവൻ തലവനും സേനാധിപതിയും ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ സെരൂയയുടെ മകൻ യോവാബ് ആദ്യം കയറിച്ചെന്നു തലവനായിത്തീർന്നു.

And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.ദാവീദ് ആ കോട്ടയിൽ പാർത്തതു കൊണ്ടു അതിന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരം എന്നു പേരായി.

And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.പിന്നെ അവൻ നഗരത്തെ മില്ലോ തുടങ്ങി ചുറ്റും പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു; നഗരത്തിന്റെ ശേഷമുള്ള ഭാഗം യോവാബ് കേടുതീർത്തു.

So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാൽ ദാവീദ് മേല്ക്കുമേൽ പ്രബലനായിത്തീർന്നു.

These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.ദാവീദിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രധാന വീരന്മാർ ആവിതു: യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം അവനെ രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലുമായി രാജത്വം സംബന്ധിച്ചു അവന്റെ പക്ഷം മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചു.

And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at the same.ദാവീദിന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്ന വീരന്മാരുടെ സംഖ്യയാവിതു: മുപ്പതുപേരിൽ പ്രധാനിയായി ഒരു ഹഖമോന്യന്റെ മകനായ യാശോബെയാം; അവൻ മുന്നൂറുപേരുടെ നേരെ കുന്തം ഓങ്ങി ഒരേ സമയത്തു അവരെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.അവന്റെ ശേഷം അഹോഹ്യനായ ദോദോവിന്റെ മകൻ എലെയാസാർ; അവൻ മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ആയിരുന്നു.

He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ പസ്-ദമ്മീമിൽ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു കൂടിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ അവിടെ ദാവീദിനോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവിടെ യവം നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു വയൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; പടജ്ജനം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോയി.

And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.എന്നാൽ അവർ ആ വയലിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്നു അതിനെ കാത്തു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; യഹോവ അവർക്കു വലിയോരു ജയം നല്കി.

Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.ഒരിക്കൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ സൈന്യം രെഫയീംതാഴ്വരയിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ മുപ്പതു തലവന്മാരിൽ മൂന്നുപേർ പാറയിങ്കൽ അദുല്ലാംഗുഹയിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.അന്നു ദാവീദ് ദുർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യർക്കു അക്കാലത്തു ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ ഒരു കാവൽപ്പട്ടാളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതിൽക്കലെ കിണറ്റിൽനിന്നു വെള്ളം എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ ആർ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തരും എന്നു ദാവീദ് ആർത്തിപൂണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.അപ്പോൾ ആ മൂന്നു പേരും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ പാളയത്തിൽകൂടി കടന്നുചെന്നു ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതിൽക്കലെ കിണറ്റിൽനിന്നു വെള്ളംകോരി ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ദാവീദോ അതു കുടിപ്പാൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ യഹോവെക്കു നിവേദിച്ചു ഒഴിച്ചു:

And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three might.ഇതു ചെയ്‍വാൻ എന്റെ ദൈവം എനിക്കു സംഗതി വരുത്തരുതേ; തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു പോയ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ രക്തം ഞാൻ കുടിക്കയോ? അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചല്ലോ അതു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു അതു കുടിപ്പാൻ മനസ്സായില്ല; ഇതാകുന്നു ഈ മൂന്നു വീരന്മാർ ചെയ്തതു.

And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.യോവാബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അബീശായി മൂവരിൽ തലവനായിരുന്നു; അവൻ മുന്നൂറുപേരുടെ നേരെ കുന്തം ഓങ്ങി, അവരെ കൊന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ആ മൂവരിൽവെച്ചു കീർത്തിപ്രാപിച്ചു;

Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: nevertheless he attained not to the first three.ഈ മൂവരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെക്കാൾ അധികം മാനം അവൻ പ്രാപിച്ചു അവർക്കു നായകനായ്തീർന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ മറ്റെ മൂവരോളം വരികയില്ല.

Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.കബ്സേലിൽ ഒരു പരാക്രമശാലിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവും വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്തു അവൻ മോവാബിലെ അരീയേലിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരെ സംഹരിച്ചതല്ലാതെ ഹിമകാലത്തു ഒരു ഗുഹയിൽ ചെന്നു ഒരു സിംഹത്തെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.അവൻ അഞ്ചുമുഴം പൊക്കമുള്ള ദീർഘകായനായോരു മിസ്രയീമ്യനെയും സംഹരിച്ചു; ആ മിസ്രയീമ്യന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നെയ്ത്തുകാരന്റെ പടപ്പുതടിപോലെ ഒരു കുന്തം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഇവനോ ഒരു വടിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു മിസ്രയീമ്യന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു കുന്തം പിടിച്ചു പറിച്ചു കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighty men.ഇവ യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവു ചെയ്തു, മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരിൽവെച്ചു കീർത്തി പ്രാപിച്ചു.

Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.അവൻ മുപ്പതു പേരിലും മാനമേറിയവനായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും മറ്റേ മൂവരോളം വരികയില്ല. ദാവീദ് അവനെ അകമ്പടിനായകനാക്കി.

Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,സൈന്യത്തിലെ വീരന്മാരോ യോവാബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അസാഹേൽ, ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമ്യനായ ദോദോവിന്റെ മകൻ എൽഹാനാൻ,

Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,ഹരോർയ്യനായ ശമ്മോത്ത്, പെലോന്യനായ ഹേലെസ്,

Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,തെക്കോവ്യനായ ഇക്കേശിന്റെ മകൻ ഈരാ, അനാഥോത്യനായ അബീയേസേർ,

Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,ഹൂശാത്യനായ സിബെഖായി, അഹോഹ്യനായ ഈലായി, നെതോഫാത്യനായ മഹരായി,

Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,നെതോഫാത്യനായ ബാനയുടെ മകൻ ഹേലെദ്,

Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,ബഹരൂമ്യനായ അസ്മാവെത്ത്, ശയൽബോന്യനായ എല്യഹ്ബാ,

The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,ഗീസോന്യനായ ഹശേമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ, ഹരാർയ്യനായ ശാഗേയുടെ മകൻ യോനാഥാൻ,

Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,ഹരാർയ്യനായ സാഖാരിന്റെ മകൻ അഹീയാം, ഊരിന്റെ മകൻ എലീഫാൽ,

Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.കീശിന്റെ മകനായ ശൌലിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ദാവീദ് ഒളിച്ചുപാർത്തിരുന്നപ്പോൾ സീക്ളാഗിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നർ ആവിതു--അവർ വീരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ അവന്നു യുദ്ധത്തിൽ തുണചെയ്തു;

They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.അവർ വില്ലാളികളും വലങ്കൈകൊണ്ടും ഇടങ്കൈകൊണ്ടും കല്ലെറിവാനും വില്ലുകൊണ്ടു അമ്പെയ്‍വാനും സമർത്ഥന്മാരുമായിരുന്നു:-- ബെന്യാമീന്യരായ ശൌലിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ തലവനായ അഹീയേസെർ, യോവാശ്,

The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite.ഗിബേയാത്യനായ ശെമായയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ, അസ്മാവെത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ യസീയേൽ, പേലെത്ത്, ബെരാഖാ, അനാഥോത്യൻ യേഹൂ.

And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,മുപ്പതുപേരിൽ വീരനും മുപ്പതുപേർക്കു നായകനുമായി ഗിബെയോന്യനായ യിശ്മയ്യാവു, യിരെമ്യാവു, യഹസീയേൽ, യോഹാനാൻ, ഗെദേരാത്യനായ യോസാബാദ്,

Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,എലൂസായി, യെരീമോത്ത്, ബെയല്യാവു, ശെമർയ്യാവു, ഹരൂഫ്യനായ ശെഫത്യാവു,

Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korhites,എൽക്കാനാ, യിശ്ശീയാവു, അസരേൽ, കോരഹ്യരായ യോവേസെർ, യാശൊബ്യാം;

And Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.ഗെദോരിൽനിന്നുള്ള യെരോഹാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ യോവേലാ, സെബദ്യാവു,

And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;പരിചയും കുന്തവും എടുപ്പാൻ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള വീരന്മാരും യുദ്ധാഭ്യാസികളും ഗാദ്യരെ പിരിഞ്ഞു വന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ദുർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ദാവീദിനോടു ചേർന്നു; അവർ സിംഹമുഖന്മാരും മലകളിലെ മാൻ പേടകളെപ്പോലെ വേഗതയുള്ളവരുമായിരുന്നു.

Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,അവരാരെന്നാൽ: തലവൻ ഏസെർ, രണ്ടാമൻ ഓബദ്യാവു, മൂന്നാമൻ എലീയാബ്,

Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,നാലാമൻ മിശ്മന്നാ, അഞ്ചാമൻ യിരെമ്യാവു,

Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,ആറാമൻ അത്ഥായി, ഏഴാമൻ എലീയേൽ,

Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,എട്ടാമൻ യോഹാനാൻ, ഒമ്പതാമൻ, എൽസാബാദ്,

Jeremiah the tenth, Machbanai the eleventh.പത്താമൻ യിരെമ്യാവു, പതിനൊന്നാമൻ മഖ്ബന്നായി.

These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least was over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.ഇവർ ഗാദ്യരിൽ പടനായകന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു; അവരിൽ ചെറിയവൻ നൂറുപേർക്കും വലിയവൻ ആയിരംപേർക്കും മതിയായവൻ.

These are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.അവർ ഒന്നാം മാസത്തിൽ യോർദ്ദാൻ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുമ്പോൾ അതിനെ കടന്നു താഴ്വര നിവാസികളെയൊക്കെയും കിഴക്കോട്ടും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും ഓടിച്ചു.

And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.ചില ബെന്യാമീന്യരും യെഹൂദ്യരും ദുർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Yours are we, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto you, and peace be to yours helpers; for your God helps you. And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.ആശേരിൽ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി പടെക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടവർ നാല്പതിനായിരംപേർ.

And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.അവർ അവിടെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചും പാനം ചെയ്തുംകൊണ്ടു ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം പാർത്തു; അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി വട്ടംകൂട്ടിയിരുന്നു.

And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സർവ്വസഭയോടും പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മതവും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു ഹിതവും ആകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നാം യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തെല്ലാടവുമുള്ള നമ്മുടെ ശേഷം സഹോദരന്മാരും അവരോടുകൂടെ പുൽപുറങ്ങളുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നുകൂടേണ്ടതിന്നു എല്ലാടവും ആളയക്കുക.

And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം വീണ്ടും നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരിക; ശൌലിന്റെ കാലത്തു നാം അതിനെ ഗണ്യമാക്കിയില്ലല്ലോ.

And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.ഈ കാര്യം സകലജനത്തിന്നും ബോധിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യേണമെന്നു സർവ്വസഭയും പറഞ്ഞു.

So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim.ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം കിർയ്യത്ത്-യെയാരീമിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു മിസ്രയീമിലെ ശീഹോർ തുടങ്ങി ഹമാത്ത് പ്രദേശംവരെയുള്ള എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനെയും കൂട്ടി വരുത്തി.

And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwells between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.കെരൂബുകളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ അധിവസിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തിരുനാമം വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന പെട്ടകം കൊണ്ടു വരേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാവീദും യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദയോടു ചേർന്നു കിർയ്യത്ത്-യെയാരീമെന്ന ബയലയിൽ ചെന്നു.

And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം അബീനാദാബിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽനിന്നെടുത്തു ഒരു പുതിയ വണ്ടിയിൽ കയറ്റി; ഉസ്സയും അഹ്യോവും വണ്ടിതെളിച്ചു.

And when they came unto the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.അവർ കീദോൻ കളത്തിന്നു സമീപം എത്തിയപ്പോൾ കാള വിരളുകകൊണ്ടു ഉസ്സാ പെട്ടകം പിടിപ്പാൻ കൈ നീട്ടി.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he stroke him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ഉസ്സയുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവൻ തന്റെ കൈ പെട്ടകത്തിങ്കലേക്കു നീട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ ബാധിച്ചു, അവൻ അവിടെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with stone workers and carpenters, to build him an house.സോർരാജാവായ ഹീരാം, ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെയും അവന്നു ഒരു അരമന പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ദേവദാരുക്കളെയും കൽപ്പണിക്കാരെയും ആശാരിമാരെയും അയച്ചു.

And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And will you deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into yours hand.അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് ദൈവത്തോടു: ഞാൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെടേണമോ? അവരെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുതരുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. യഹോവ അവനോടു: പുറപ്പെടുക; ഞാൻ അവരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

So they came up to Baalperazim; and David stroke them there. Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them opposite to the mulberry trees.ദാവീദ് പിന്നെയും ദൈവത്തോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ ദൈവം അവനോടു: അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെല്ലാതെ അവരെ വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു ബാഖാവൃക്ഷങ്ങൾക്കെതിരെ അവരുടെ നേരെ ചെല്ലുക.

And it shall be, when you shall hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall go out to battle: for God is gone forth before you to strike the host of the Philistines.ബാഖാവൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ അഗ്രങ്ങളിൽകൂടി അണിയണിയായി നടക്കുന്ന ഒച്ച കേട്ടാൽ നീ പടെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുക; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ സൈന്യത്തെ തോല്പിപ്പാൻ ദൈവം നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു;
