Luke 13

There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.ആ സമയത്തു തന്നേ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ചിലർ പീലാത്തൊസ് ചില ഗലീലക്കാരുടെ ചോര അവരുടെ യാഗങ്ങളോടു കലർത്തിയ വർത്തമാനം അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose all of you that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?അതിന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: “ആ ഗലീലക്കാർ ഇതു അനുഭവിക്കായാൽ എല്ലാ ഗലീലക്കാരിലും പാപികൾ ആയിരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നുന്നുവോ?

I tell you, Nay: but, except all of you repent, all of you shall all likewise perish.അല്ലല്ല, മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും അങ്ങനെതന്നേ നശിച്ചുപോകും” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think all of you that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?അല്ല, ശീലോഹാമിലെ ഗോപുരം വീണു മരിച്ചുപോയ ആ പതിനെട്ടുപേർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന സകല മനുഷ്യരിലും കുറ്റക്കാർ ആയിരുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നുന്നുവോ?

I tell you, Nay: but, except all of you repent, all of you shall all likewise perish.അല്ലല്ല, മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നശിച്ചുപോകും” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

He spoke also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.അവൻ ഈ ഉപമയും പറഞ്ഞു: “ഒരുത്തന്നു തന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിൽ നട്ടിരുന്നോരു അത്തിവൃക്ഷം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അതിൽ ഫലം തിരഞ്ഞുവന്നു, കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it the ground?അവൻ തോട്ടക്കാരനോടു: ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരമായി ഈ അത്തിയിൽ ഫലം തിരഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു കാണുന്നില്ലതാനും; അതിനെ വെട്ടിക്കളക അതു നിലത്തെ നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:അതിന്നു അവൻ: കർത്താവേ, ഞാൻ അതിന്നു ചുറ്റും കിളെച്ചു വളം ഇടുവോളം ഈ ആണ്ടും കൂടെ നിൽക്കട്ടെ.

And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down.മേലാൽ കായിച്ചെങ്കിലോ - ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ വെട്ടിക്കളയാം” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.ഒരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവൻ ഒരു പള്ളിയിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു;

And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.അവിടെ പതിനെട്ടു സംവത്സരമായി ഒരു രോഗാത്മാവു ബാധിച്ചിട്ടു ഒട്ടും നിവിരുവാൻ കഴിയാതെ കൂനിയായോരു സ്ത്രീ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from yours infirmity.യേശു അവളെ കണ്ടു അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു: “സ്ത്രിയേ, നിന്റെ രോഗബന്ധനം അഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവളുടെ മേൽ കൈവെച്ചു.

And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.അവൾ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ നിവിർന്നു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.യേശു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതു കൊണ്ടു പള്ളി പ്രമാണി നീരസപ്പെട്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തോടു: വേല ചെയ്‍വാൻ ആറുദിവസമുണ്ടല്ലോ; അതിന്നകം വന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

The Lord then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?കർത്താവു അവനോടു: “കപടഭക്തിക്കാരേ, നിങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തൻ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തന്റെ കാളയെയോ കഴുതയെയോ തൊട്ടിയിൽ നിന്നു അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?എന്നാൽ സാത്താൻ പതിനെട്ടു സംവത്സരമായി ബന്ധിച്ചിരുന്ന അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകളായ ഇവളെ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ ഈ ബന്ധനം അഴിച്ചു വിടേണ്ടതല്ലയോ ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.അവൻ ഇതു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ വിരോധികൾ എല്ലാവരും നാണിച്ചു; അവനാൽ നടക്കുന്ന സകല മഹിമകളാലും പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and unto which shall I resemble it?പിന്നെ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: “ദൈവരാജ്യം ഏതിനോടു സദൃശം? ഏതിനോടു അതിനെ ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു?

It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ എടുത്തു തന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിൽ ഇട്ട കടുകുമണിയോടു അതു സദൃശം; അതു വളർന്നു വൃക്ഷമായി, ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളും വന്നു അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളിൽ വസിച്ചു.

And again he said, Unto which shall I liken the kingdom of God?പിന്നെയും അവൻ “ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ഏതിനോടു ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു? അതു പുളിച്ചമാവിനോടു തുല്ല്യം;

It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.അതു ഒരു സ്ത്രീ എടുത്തു മൂന്നുപറ മാവിൽ ചേർത്തു എല്ലാം പുളിച്ചുവരുവോളം അടക്കിവെച്ചു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.അവൻ പട്ടണംതോറും ഗ്രാമംതോറും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.

Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,അപ്പോൾ ഒരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ചുരുക്കമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു:

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.ഇടുക്കുവാതിലൂടെ കടപ്പാൻ പോരാടുവിൻ. പലരും കടപ്പാൻ നോക്കും കഴികയില്ലതാനും” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut to the door, and all of you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence all of you are:വീട്ടുടയവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കതകു അടെച്ചശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുനിന്നു: കർത്താവേ, തുറന്നു തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു കതകിന്നു മുട്ടിത്തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ: “നിങ്ങൾ എവിടെ നിന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല,” എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറയും.

Then shall all of you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets.അന്നേരം നിങ്ങൾ: നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ തെരുക്കളിൽ നീ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലൊ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങും.

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence all of you are; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.അവനോ: “നിങ്ങൾ എവിടെ നിന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; അനീതി പ്രവൃത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകുവിൻ ”എന്നു പറയും.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when all of you shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.അവിടെ അബ്രാഹാമും യിസ്ഹാക്കും യാക്കോബും സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ദൈവ രാജ്യത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും നിങ്ങളെ പുറത്തു തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞതും നിങ്ങൾ കാണുമ്പോൾ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും.

And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.കിഴക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും തെക്കുനിന്നും വടക്കുനിന്നും അനേകർ വന്നു ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ പന്തിയിലിരിക്കും.

And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.മുമ്പന്മാരായ്തീരുന്ന പിമ്പന്മാരുണ്ടു, പിമ്പന്മാരായ്തീരുന്ന മുമ്പന്മാരും ഉണ്ടു.

The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get you out, and depart behind: for Herod will kill you.ആ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ ചില പരീശന്മാർ അടുത്തുവന്നു: ഇവിടം വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കാൾക ഹെരോദാവു നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, Go all of you, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “നിങ്ങൾ പോയി ആ കുറുക്കനോടു: ഞാൻ ഇന്നും നാളെയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും രോഗശാന്തി വരുത്തുകയും മൂന്നാം നാളിൽ സമാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

Nevertheless I must walk to day, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.എങ്കിലും ഇന്നും നാളെയും മറ്റെന്നാളും ഞാൻ സഞ്ചരിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; യെരൂശലേമിന്നു പുറത്തുവെച്ചു ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നതു അസംഭവ്യമല്ലോ ” എന്നു പറവിൻ.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kill the prophets, and stone them that are sent unto you; how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen does gather her brood under her wings, and all of you would not!യെരൂശലേമേ, യെരൂശലേമേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുകയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരെ കല്ലെറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നവളേ, കോഴി തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ചിറകിൻ കീഴിൽ ചേർക്കുംപോലെ നിന്റെ മക്കളെ എത്രവട്ടം ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ എനിക്കു മനസ്സായിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കോ മനസ്സായില്ല.

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, All of you shall not see me, until the time come when all of you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനം ശൂന്യമായ്ത്തീരും; കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുവോളം നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല ” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

Luke 14

And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.പരീശപ്രമാണികളിൽ ഒരുത്തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ അവൻ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാൻ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ അവർ അവനെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.മഹോദരമുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And Jesus answering spoke unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?യേശു ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരോടും പരീശന്മാരോടും: “ശബ്ബത്തിൽ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവരോ മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;അവൻ അവനെ തൊട്ടു സൌഖ്യമാക്കി വിട്ടയച്ചു.

And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?പിന്നെ അവരോടു: “നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുത്തന്റെ മകനോ കാളയോ ശബ്ബത്തു നാളിൽ കിണറ്റിൽ വീണാൽ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ

And they could not answer him again to these things.വലിച്ചെടുക്കയില്ലയോ ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു പ്രത്യുത്തരം പറവാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them.ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ മുഖ്യാസനങ്ങളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവൻ അവരോടു ഒരുപമ പറഞ്ഞു:

When you are bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than you be bidden of him;ഒരുത്തൻ നിന്നെ കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വിളിച്ചാൽ മുഖ്യാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കരുതു; പക്ഷെ നിന്നിലും മാനമേറിയവനെ അവൻ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കാം.

And he that bade you and him come and say to you, Give this man place; and you begin with shame to take the low room.പിന്നെ നിന്നെയും അവനെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചവൻ വന്നു: ഇവന്നു ഇടം കൊടുക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറയുമ്പോൾ നീ നാണത്തോടെ ഒടുക്കത്തെ സ്ഥലത്തുപോയി ഇരിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

But when you are bidden, go and sit down in the low room; that when he that bade you comes, he may say unto you, Friend, go up higher: then shall you have worship in the presence of them that sit to eat with you.നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചാൽ ചെന്നു ഒടുക്കത്തെ സ്ഥലത്തു ഇരിക്ക; നിന്നെ ക്ഷണിച്ചവൻ വരുമ്പോൾ നിന്നോടു: സ്നേഹിതാ, മുമ്പോട്ടു വന്നു ഇരിക്ക എന്നുപറവാൻ ഇടവരട്ടെ; അപ്പോൾ പന്തിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിനക്കു മാനം ഉണ്ടാകും.

For whosoever exalts himself shall be brought low; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയർത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.

Then said he also to him that bade him, When you make a dinner or a supper, call not your friends, nor your brethren, neither your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbours; lest they also bid you again, and a recompence be made you.തന്നെ ക്ഷണിച്ചവനോടു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: “നീ ഒരു മുത്താഴമോ അത്താഴമോ കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരേയും സഹോരദരന്മാരെയും ചാർച്ചക്കാരെയും സമ്പത്തുള്ള അയൽക്കാരെയും വിളിക്കരുതു; അവർ നിന്നെ അങ്ങോട്ടും വിളിച്ചിട്ടു നിനക്കു പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്യും.

But when you make a feast, call the poor, the physically disabled, the lame, the blind:നീ വിരുന്നു കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ ദരിദ്രന്മാർ, അംഗഹീനന്മാർ മുടന്തന്മാർ, കുരുടുന്മാർ എന്നിവരെ ക്ഷണിക്ക;

And you shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense you: for you shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.എന്നാൽ നീ ഭാഗ്യവാനാകും; നിനക്കു പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്‍വാൻ അവർക്കു വകയില്ലല്ലോ; നീതിമാന്മാരരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിൽ നിനക്കു പ്രത്യുപകാരം ഉണ്ടാകും.

And when one of them that sat at food with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.കൂടെ പന്തിയിരിരുന്നവരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു: ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു;

Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:അവനോടു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: “ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ വലിയോരു അത്താഴം ഒരുക്കി പലരെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു.

And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.അത്താഴസമയത്തു അവൻ തന്റെ ദാസനെ അയച്ചു ആ ക്ഷണിച്ചവരോടു: എല്ലാം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; വരുവിൻ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must essentially go and see it: I pray you have me excused.എല്ലാവരും ഒരു പോലെ ഒഴികഴിവു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി; ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ അവനോടു: ഞാൻ ഒരു നിലം കൊണ്ടതിനാൽ അതു ചെന്നു കാണേണ്ടുന്ന ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു; എന്നോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray you have me excused.മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ: ഞാൻ അഞ്ചേർകാളയെ കൊണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; അവയെ ശോധന ചെയ്‍വാൻ പോകുന്നു; എന്നോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.വേറൊരുത്തൻ: ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾവിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വരുവാൻ കഴിവില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the physically disabled, and the halt, and the blind.ദാസൻ മടങ്ങിവന്നു യജമാനനോടു അറിയിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ വീട്ടുടയവൻ കോപിച്ചു ദാസനോടു: നീ വേഗം പട്ടണത്തിലെ വീഥികളിലും ഇടത്തെരുക്കളിലും ചെന്നു ദരിദ്രന്മാർ, അംഗഹീനന്മാർ, കുരുടന്മാർ, മുടന്തന്മാർ, എന്നിവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And the servant said, Lord, it is done as you have commanded, and yet there is room.പിന്നെ ദാസൻ: യജമാനനേ, കല്പിച്ചതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനിയും സ്ഥലം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.യജമാനൻ ദാസനോടു: നീ പെരുവഴികളിലും വേലികൾക്കരികെയും പോയി, എന്റെ വീടുനിറയേണ്ടതിന്നു കണ്ടവരെ അകത്തുവരുവാൻ നിർബ്ബന്ധിക്ക.

For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.ആ ക്ഷണിച്ച പുരുഷന്മാർ ആരും എന്റെ അത്താഴം ആസ്വദിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,ഏറിയ പുരുഷാരം അവനോടുകൂടെ പോകുമ്പോൾ അവൻ തിരിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു:

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരികയും അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ഭാര്യയെയും മക്കളെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും സഹോദരികളെയും സ്വന്തജീവനെയും കൂടെ പകെക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു എന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല.

And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.തന്റെ ക്രൂശു എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരാത്തവന്നു എന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിപ്പാൻ കഴിയില്ല.

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരു ഗോപുരം പണിവാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചാൽ ആദ്യം ഇരുന്നു അതു തീർപ്പാൻ വക ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു കണക്കു നോക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

Lest lest by any means, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടശേഷം തീർപ്പാൻ വകയില്ല എന്നു വന്നേക്കാം;

Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.കാണുന്നവർ എല്ലാം; ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ പണിവാൻ തുടങ്ങി, തീർപ്പാനോ വകയില്ല എന്നു പരിഹസിക്കുമല്ലോ.

Or what king, going to make war against another king, sits not down first, and consults whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand?അല്ല, ഒരു രാജാവു മറ്റൊരു രാജാവിനോടു പട ഏല്പാൻ പുറപ്പെടുംമുമ്പേ ഇരുന്നു, ഇരുപതിനായിരവുമായി വരുന്നവനോടു താൻ പതിനായിരവുമായി എതിർപ്പാൻ മതിയോ എന്നു ആലോചിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy, and desires conditions of peace.പോരാ എന്നു വരികിൽ മറ്റവൻ ദൂരത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ സ്ഥാനാപതികളെ അയച്ചു സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും തനിക്കുള്ളതു ഒക്കെയും വിട്ടുപിരിയുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ അവന്നു എന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല.

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?ഉപ്പു നല്ലതു തന്നേ; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെ പോയാൽ എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു അതിന്നു രസം വരുത്തും?

It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.പിന്നെ നിലത്തിന്നും വളത്തിന്നും കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല; അതിനെ പുറത്തു കളയും. കേൾപ്പാൻ ചെവി ഉള്ളവൻ കേൾക്കട്ടെ

Luke 15

Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners in order to hear him.ചുങ്കക്കാരും പാപികളും എല്ലാം അവന്റെ വചനം കേൾപ്പാൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners, and eats with them.ഇവൻ പാപികളെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടുകൂടി ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പരീശന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പറഞ്ഞു പിറുപിറുത്തു.

And he spoke this parable unto them, saying,അവരോടു അവൻ ഈ ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞു:

What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു ആൾക്കു നൂറു ആടുണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ. അതിൽ ഒന്നു കാണാതെ പോയാൽ അവൻ തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതിനെയും മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിട്ടേച്ചു. ആ കാണാതെപോയതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തുംവരെ നോക്കി നടക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.കണ്ടു കിട്ടിയാൽ സന്തോഷിച്ചു ചുമലിൽ എടുത്തു വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെയും അയൽക്കാരെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി:

And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.കാണാതെ പോയ എന്റെ ആടിനെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നോടു കൂടെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിൻ എന്നു അവരോടു പറയും.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മാനസാന്തരം കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതിനെക്കാൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പാപിയെച്ചൊല്ലി സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ അധികം സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ടാകും” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?അല്ല, ഒരു സ്ത്രീക്കു പത്തു ദ്രഹ്മ ഉണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഒരു ദ്രഹ്മ കാണാതെ പോയാൽ അവൾ വിളക്കു കത്തിച്ചു വീടു അടിച്ചുവാരി അതുകണ്ടുകിട്ടുംവരെ സൂക്ഷ്മത്തോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയാൽ സ്നേഹിതമാരെയും അയൽക്കാരത്തികളെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി: കാണാതെപോയ ദ്രഹ്മ കണ്ടു കിട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നോടുകൂടെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറയും.

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പാപിയെക്കുറിച്ചു ദൈവദൂതന്മാരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ടാകും” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And he said, A certain man had two sons:പിന്നെയും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: “ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. And he divided unto them his living.അവരിൽ ഇളയവൻ അപ്പനോടു: അപ്പാ, വസ്തുവിൽ എനിക്കു വരേണ്ടുന്ന പങ്കു തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവൻ അവർക്കു മുതൽ പകുത്തുകൊടുത്തു.

And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.ഏറെനാൾ കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ ഇളയമകൻ സകലവും സ്വരൂപിച്ചു ദൂരദേശത്തേക്കു യാത്രയായി അവിടെ ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരനായി ജീവിച്ചു, വസ്തു നാനാവിധമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in lack.എല്ലാം ചെലവഴിച്ചശേഷം ആ ദേശത്തു കഠിനക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു അവന്നു മുട്ടുവന്നു തുടങ്ങി.

And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.അവൻ ആ ദേശത്തിലേ പൌരന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ ചെന്നു ആശ്രയിച്ചു. അവൻ അവനെ തന്റെ വയലിൽ പന്നികളെ മേയ്പാൻ അയച്ചു.

And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.പന്നി തിന്നുന്ന വാളവരകൊണ്ടു വയറു നിറെപ്പാൻ അവൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു എങ്കിലും ആരും അവന്നു കൊടുത്തില്ല.

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!അപ്പോൾ സുബോധം വന്നിട്ടു അവൻ: എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ എത്ര കൂലിക്കാർ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനോ വിശപ്പുകൊണ്ടു നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you,ഞാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: അപ്പാ, ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോടും നിന്നോടും പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

And am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired servants.ഇനി നിന്റെ മകൻ എന്ന പേരിന്നു ഞാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല; നിന്റെ കൂലിക്കാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെപ്പോലെ എന്നെ ആക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി. ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു തന്നേ അപ്പൻ അവനെ കണ്ടു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു ഓടിച്ചെന്നു അവന്റെ കഴുത്തു കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു.

And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son.മകൻ അവനോടു: അപ്പാ, ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോടും നിന്നോടും പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി നിന്റെ മകൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:അപ്പൻ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോടു: വേഗം മേല്ത്തരമായ അങ്കി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ഇവനെ ധരിപ്പിപ്പിൻ; ഇവന്റെ കൈക്കു മോതിരവും കാലിന്നു ചെരിപ്പും ഇടുവിപ്പിൻ.

And bring here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അറുപ്പിൻ; നാം തിന്നു ആനന്ദിക്ക.

For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.ഈ എന്റെ മകൻ മരിച്ചവനായിരുന്നു; വീണ്ടും ജീവിച്ചു; കാണാതെ പോയിരുന്നു; കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ അവർ ആനന്ദിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.അവന്റെ മൂത്തമകൻ വയലിൽ ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ വന്നു വീട്ടിനോടു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ വാദ്യവും നൃത്തഘോഷവും കേട്ടു,

And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.ബാല്യക്കാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ വിളിച്ചു: ഇതെന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said unto him, Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.അവൻ അവനോടു: നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ വന്നു; നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ അവനെ സൌഖ്യത്തോടെ കിട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ടു തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ അറുത്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and implored him.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ കോപിച്ചു, അകത്തു കടപ്പാൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ നിന്നു; അപ്പൻ പുറത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve you, neither transgressed I at any time your commandment: and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:അവൻ അവനോടു: ഇത്ര കാലമായി ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സേവിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ കല്പന ഒരിക്കലും ലംഘിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ചങ്ങതികളുമായി ആനന്ദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഒരിക്കലും എനിക്കു ഒരു ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടിയെ തന്നിട്ടില്ല.

But as soon as this your son was come, which has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fatted calf.വേശ്യമാരോടു കൂടി നിന്റെ മുതൽ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞ ഈ നിന്റെ മകൻ വന്നപ്പോഴേക്കോ തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ അവന്നുവേണ്ടി അറുത്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto him, Son, you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours.അതിന്നു അവൻ അവനോടു: മകനേ, നീ എപ്പോഴും എന്നോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നവല്ലോ; എനിക്കുള്ളതു എല്ലാം നിന്റെതു ആകുന്നു.

It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.നിന്റെ ഈ സഹോദരനോ മരിച്ചവനായിരുന്നു; വീണ്ടും ജീവച്ചു; കാണാതെ പോയിരുന്നു; കണ്ടു കിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ആകയാൽ ആനന്ദിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കേണ്ടതാവശ്യമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
