Matthew 9

And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.അവൻ പടകിൽ കയറി ഇക്കരെക്കു കടന്നു സ്വന്തപട്ടണത്തിൽ എത്തി.

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; your sins be forgiven you.അവിടെ ചിലർ കിടക്കമേൽ കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരു പക്ഷവാതക്കാരനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; യേശു അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടു പക്ഷവാതക്കാരനോടു: “മകനേ, ധൈര്യമായിരിക്ക; നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think all of you evil in your hearts?യേശുവോ അവരുടെ നിരൂപണം ഗ്രഹിച്ചു: “നിങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

For whether is easier, to say, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and walk?എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടക്ക എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ, ഏതാകുന്നു എളുപ്പം” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

But that all of you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then says he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up your bed, and go unto yours house.എങ്കിലും ഭൂമിയിൽ പാപങ്ങളെ മോചിപ്പാൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നു അധികാരം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു-അവൻ പക്ഷവാതക്കാരനോടു: “എഴുന്നേറ്റു, കിടക്ക എടുത്തു വീട്ടിൽ പോക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he arose, and departed to his house.അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വീട്ടിൽ പോയി.

But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.പുരുഷാരം അതു കണ്ടു ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മനുഷ്യർക്കു ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള അധികാരം കൊടുത്ത ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he says unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.യേശു അവിടെനിന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ മത്തായി എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ചുങ്കസ്ഥലത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു: “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക” എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at food in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.അവൻ വീട്ടിൽ ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ വളരെ ചുങ്കക്കാരും പാപികളും വന്നു യേശുവിനോടും അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടും കൂടെ പന്തിയിൽ ഇരുന്നു.

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eats your Master with publicans and sinners?പരീശന്മാർ അതു കണ്ടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു ചുങ്കക്കാരോടും പാപികളോടും കൂടെ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.യേശു അതു കേട്ടാറെ: “ദീനക്കാർക്കല്ലാതെ സൌഖ്യമുള്ളവർക്കു വൈദ്യനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ല.

But go all of you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.യാഗത്തിലല്ല കരുണയിൽ അത്രേ ഞാൻ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു പോയി പഠിപ്പിൻ. ഞാൻ നീതിമാന്മാരെ അല്ല പാപികളെ അത്രേ വിളിപ്പാൻ വന്നതു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples fast not?യോഹന്നാന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ഞങ്ങളും പരീശന്മാരും വളരെ ഉപവസിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഉപവസിക്കാത്തതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bride-chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “മണവാളൻ കൂടെയുള്ളപ്പോൾ തോഴ്മക്കാർക്കു ദുഃഖിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല; മണവാളൻ പിരിഞ്ഞുപോകേണ്ടുന്ന നാൾ വരും; അന്നു അവർ ഉപവസിക്കും.

No man puts a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse.കോടിത്തുണിക്കണ്ടം ആരും പഴയ വസ്ത്രത്തിൽ ചേർത്തു തുന്നുമാറില്ല; തുന്നിച്ചേർത്താൽ അതു കൊണ്ടു വസ്ത്രം കീറും; ചീന്തൽ ഏറ്റവും വല്ലാതെയായി തീരും.

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.പുതു വീഞ്ഞു പഴയ തുരുത്തിയിൽ പകരുമാറുമില്ല; പകർന്നാൽ തുരുത്തി പൊളിഞ്ഞു വീഞ്ഞു ഒഴുകിപ്പോകും; തുരുത്തിയും നശിച്ചുപോകും. പുതുവീഞ്ഞു പുതിയ തുരുത്തിയിലേ പകർന്നു വെക്കയുള്ളു; അങ്ങനെ രണ്ടും ഭദ്രമായിരിക്കും.”

While he spoke these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay your hand upon her, and she shall live.അവൻ ഇങ്ങനെ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു പ്രമാണി വന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു: എന്റെ മകൾ ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി; എങ്കിലും നീ വന്നു അവളുടെമേൽ കൈ വെച്ചാൽ അവൾ ജീവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.യേശു എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി അവന്റെ കൂടെ ചെന്നു.

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:അന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു സംവത്സരമായിട്ടു രക്തസ്രവമുള്ളോരു സ്ത്രീ:

For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം മാത്രം ഒന്നു തൊട്ടാൽ എനിക്കു സൌഖ്യം വരും എന്നു ഉള്ളംകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു, പിറകിൽ വന്നു അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ തൊങ്ങൽ തൊട്ടു.

But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; your faith has made you whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവളെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: “മകളെ, ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ആ നാഴികമുതൽ സ്ത്രീക്കു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,പിന്നെ യേശു പ്രമാണിയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ കടന്നു, കുഴലൂതുന്നവരെയും ആരവാരക്കൂട്ടത്തെയും കണ്ടിട്ടു:

He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn.“മാറിപ്പോകുവിൻ; ബാല മരിച്ചില്ലല്ലോ ഉറങ്ങുന്നത്രേ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരോ അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.

But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെ പുറത്താക്കി അകത്തു കടന്നു ബാലയുടെ കൈപിടിച്ചു, ബാല എഴുന്നേറ്റു.

And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.ഈ വർത്തമാനം ആ ദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു.

And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, You son of David, have mercy on us.യേശു അവിടെനിന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ രണ്ടു കുരുടന്മാർ: ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, ഞങ്ങളോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പിന്തുടർന്നു.

And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus says unto them, Believe all of you that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.അവൻ വീട്ടിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ കുരുടന്മാർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു. “ഇതു ചെയ്‍വാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ” എന്നു യേശു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഉവ്വു, കർത്താവേ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.അവൻ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തൊട്ടു: “നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസം പോലെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു.

And their eyes were opened; and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.പിന്നെ യേശു: “നോക്കുവിൻ; ആരും അറിയരുതു എന്നു അമർച്ചയായി കല്പിച്ചു.”

But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.അവരോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ആ ദേശത്തിലൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ ശ്രുതിയെ പരത്തി.

As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.അവർ പോകുമ്പോൾ ചിലർ ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തനായോരു ഊമനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spoke: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.അവൻ ഭൂതത്തെ പുറത്താക്കിയ ശേഷം ഊമൻ സംസാരിച്ചു: യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പുരുഷാരം അതിശയിച്ചു.

But the Pharisees said, He casts out devils through the prince of the devils.പരീശന്മാരോ: ഇവൻ ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവനെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.യേശു പട്ടണംതോറും ഗ്രാമംതോറും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചു രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കയും സകലവിധദീനവും വ്യാധിയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഇടയനില്ലാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ കുഴഞ്ഞവരും ചിന്നിയവരുമായി കണ്ടിട്ടു അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു, തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു:

Then says he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is abundant, but the labourers are few;“കൊയ്ത്തു വളരെ ഉണ്ടു സത്യം, വേലക്കാരോ ചുരുക്കം;

Pray all of you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.ആകയാൽ കൊയ്ത്തിന്റെ യജമാനനോടു കൊയ്ത്തിലേക്കു വേലക്കാരെ അയക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യാചിപ്പിൻ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Matthew 10

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.അനന്തരം അവൻ തന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെയും അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ചു, അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളെ പുറത്താക്കുവാനും സകലവിധ ദീനവും വ്യാധിയും പൊറുപ്പിപ്പാനും അവർക്കു അധികാരം കൊടുത്തു.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;പന്ത്രണ്ടു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ പേരാവിതു: ഒന്നാമൻ പത്രൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോൻ, അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ അന്ത്രെയാസ്, സെബെദിയുടെ മകൻ യാക്കോബ്,

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter all of you not:ഈ പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെയും യേശു അയക്കുമ്പോൾ അവരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ: “ജാതികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകാതെയും ശമര്യരുടെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടക്കാതെയും

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തിലെ കാണാതെ പോയ ആടുകളുടെ അടുക്കൽ തന്നേ ചെല്ലുവിൻ.

And as all of you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.നിങ്ങൾ പോകുമ്പോൾ: സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഘോഷിപ്പിൻ.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely all of you have received, freely give.രോഗികളെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുവിൻ; മരിച്ചവരെ ഉയിർപ്പിപ്പിൻ; കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവിൻ; ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുവിൻ; സൌജന്യമായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിച്ചു സൌജന്യമായി കൊടുപ്പിൻ.

Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,മടിശ്ശീലയിൽ പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും ചെമ്പും

Nor pouch for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his food.വഴിക്കു പൊക്കണവും രണ്ടു ഉടുപ്പും ചെരിപ്പും വടിയും കരുതരുതു; വേലക്കാരൻ തന്റെ ആഹാരത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യനല്ലോ

And into whatsoever city or town all of you shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till all of you go thence.ഏതു പട്ടണത്തിലോ ഗ്രാമത്തിലോ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടെ യോഗ്യൻ ആർ എന്നു അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ; പുറപ്പെടുവോളം അവിടത്തന്നേ പാർപ്പിൻ.

And when all of you come into an house, salute it.ആ വീട്ടിൽ ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ അതിന്നു വന്ദനം പറവിൻ.

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.വീട്ടിന്നു യോഗ്യതയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ സമാധാനം അതിന്മേൽ വരട്ടെ; യോഗ്യതയില്ല എന്നു വരികിൽ സമാധാനം നിങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോരട്ടെ.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when all of you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാതെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾക്കാതെയുമിരുന്നാൽ ആ വീടോ പട്ടണമോ വിട്ടു പോകുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലിലെ പൊടി തട്ടിക്കളവിൻ.

Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ ആ പട്ടണത്തെക്കാൾ സൊദോമ്യരുടേയും ഗമോര്യരുടെയും ദേശത്തിന്നു സഹിക്കാവതാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be all of you therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.ചെന്നായ്ക്കളുടെ നടുവിൽ ആടിനെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അയക്കുന്നു. ആകയാൽ പാമ്പിനെപ്പോലെ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരും പ്രാവിനെപ്പോലെ കളങ്കമില്ലാത്തവരും ആയിരിപ്പിൻ.

But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;മനുഷ്യരെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; അവർ നിങ്ങളെ ന്യായാധിപസഭകളിൽ ഏല്പിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളികളിൽവെച്ചു ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു അടിക്കയും

And all of you shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.എന്റെ നിമിത്തം നാടുവാഴികൾക്കും രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും മുമ്പിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും; അതു അവർക്കും ജാതികൾക്കും ഒരു സാക്ഷ്യം ആയിരിക്കും.

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what all of you shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what all of you shall speak.എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളെ ഏല്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ എങ്ങനെയോ എന്തോ പറയേണ്ടു എന്നു വിചാരപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; പറവാനുള്ളതു ആ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിക്കും.

For it is not all of you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you.പറയുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ അല്ല, നിങ്ങളിൽ പറയുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ആത്മാവത്രേ.

And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.സഹോദരൻ സഹോദരനെയും അപ്പൻ മകനെയും മരണത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കും; അമ്മയപ്പന്മാർക്കു എതിരായി മക്കൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ കൊല്ലിക്കും.

And all of you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.എന്റെ നാമം നിമിത്തം എല്ലാവരും നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കും; അവസാനത്തോളം സഹിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee all of you into another: for verily I say unto you, All of you shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.എന്നാൽ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചാൽ മറ്റൊന്നിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകുവിൻ. മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വരുവോളം നിങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽ പട്ടണങ്ങളെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു തീരുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.ശിഷ്യൻ ഗുരുവിന്മീതെയല്ല; ദാസൻ യജമാനന്നു മീതെയുമല്ല;

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?ഗുരുവിനെപ്പോലെയാകുന്നതു ശിഷ്യന്നു മതി; യജമാനനെപ്പോലെയാകുന്നതു ദാസന്നും മതി. അവർ വീട്ടുടയവനെ ബെയെത്സെബൂൽ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ വീട്ടുകാരെ എത്ര അധികം?

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.അതു കൊണ്ടു അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; മറെച്ചുവെച്ചതു ഒന്നും വെളിപ്പെടാതെയും ഗൂഢമായതു ഒന്നും അറിയാതെയും ഇരിക്കുകയില്ല.

What I tell you in darkness, that speak all of you in light: and what all of you hear in the ear, that preach all of you upon the housetops.ഞാൻ ഇരുട്ടത്തു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു വെളിച്ചത്തു പറവിൻ; ചെവിയിൽ പറഞ്ഞുകേൾക്കുന്നതു പുരമുകളിൽനിന്നു ഘോഷിപ്പിൻ.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.ദേഹിയെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ കഴിയാതെ ദേഹത്തെ കൊല്ലുന്നവരെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ദേഹിയെയും ദേഹത്തെയും നരകത്തിൽ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നവനെ തന്നേ ഭയപ്പെടുവിൻ.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.കാശിന്നു രണ്ടു കുരികിൽ വിൽക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? അവയിൽ ഒന്നുപോലും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു സമ്മതിക്കാതെ നിലത്തു വീഴുകയില്ല.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ തലയിലെ രോമവും എല്ലാം എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

Fear all of you not therefore, all of you are of more value than many sparrows.ആകയാൽ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഏറിയ കുരികിലുകളെക്കാളും നിങ്ങൾ വിശേഷതയുള്ളവരല്ലോ.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ എന്നെ ഏറ്റുപറയുന്ന ഏവനെയും സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിൻ മുമ്പിൽ ഞാനും ഏറ്റുപറയും.

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയുന്നവനെയോ എന്റെ പിതാവിൻ മുമ്പിൽ ഞാനും തള്ളിപ്പറയും.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ സമാധാനം വരുത്തുവാൻ വന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കരുതു; സമാധാനം അല്ല വാൾ അത്രേ വരുത്തുവാൻ ഞാൻ വന്നതു.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.മനുഷ്യനെ തന്റെ അപ്പനോടും മകളെ അമ്മയോടും മരുമകളെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മയോടും ഭേദിപ്പിപ്പാനത്രേ ഞാൻ വന്നതു.

And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.മനുഷ്യന്റെ വീട്ടുകാർ തന്നേ അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾ ആകും.

He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.എന്നെക്കാൾ അധികം അപ്പനേയോ അമ്മയേയോ പ്രിയപ്പെടുന്നവൻ എനിക്കു യോഗ്യനല്ല; എന്നെക്കാൾ അധികം മകനെയോ മകളെയോ പ്രിയപ്പെടുന്നവൻ എനിക്കു യോഗ്യനല്ല.

And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me.തന്റെ ക്രൂശു എടുത്തു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാത്തവനും എനിക്കു യോഗ്യനല്ല.

He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.തന്റെ ജീവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയവൻ അതിനെ കളയും; എന്റെ നിമിത്തം തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളഞ്ഞവൻ അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

He that receives you receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me.നിങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.

He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നുവെച്ചു പ്രവാചകനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവന്നു പ്രവാചകന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും. നീതിമാൻ എന്നുവെച്ചു നീതിമാനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവന്നു നീതിമാന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും.

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.ശിഷ്യൻ എന്നു വെച്ചു ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുത്തന്നു ഒരു പാനപാത്രം തണ്ണീർ മാത്രം കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടാതെ പോകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.യേശു തന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു തീർന്നശേഷം അതതു പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഉപദേശിപ്പാനും പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി.

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,യോഹന്നാൻ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽവെച്ചു, ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിട്ടു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അയച്ചു;

And said unto him, Are you he that should come, or do we look for another?വരുവാനുള്ളവൻ നീയോ, ഞങ്ങൾ മറ്റൊരുവനെ കാത്തിരിക്കയോ എന്നു അവർ മുഖാന്തരം അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and show John again those things which all of you do hear and see:യേശു അവരോടു: “കുരുടർ കാണുന്നു; മുടന്തർ നടക്കുന്നു; കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ ശുദ്ധരായിത്തീരുന്നു; ചെകിടർ കേൾക്കുന്നു; മരിച്ചവർ ഉയിർക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നു

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കയും കാണുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു യോഹന്നാനെ ചെന്നു അറിയിപ്പിൻ.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.എന്നാൽ എങ്കൽ ഇടറിപ്പോകാത്തവൻ എല്ലാം ഭാഗ്യവാൻ ” എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went all of you out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?അവർ പോയ ശേഷം യേശു യോഹന്നാനെക്കുറിച്ചു പുരുഷാരത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങിയതു: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു കാണ്മാൻ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോയി? കാറ്റിനാൽ ഉലയുന്ന ഓടയോ?

But what went all of you out in order to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.അല്ല, എന്തുകാണ്മാൻ പോയി? മാർദ്ദവവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച മനുഷ്യനെയോ? മാർദ്ദവ വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കുന്നവർ രാജഗൃഹങ്ങളിലല്ലോ.

But what went all of you out in order to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.അല്ല, എന്തിന്നു പോയി? ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ കാണ്മാനോ? അതെ, പ്രവാചകനിലും മികെച്ചവനെ തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.“ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദൂതനെ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി അയക്കുന്നു; അവൻ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിനക്കു വഴി ഒരുക്കും” എന്നു എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവൻ അവൻ തന്നേ.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.സത്രീകളിൽ നിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരിൽ യോഹന്നാൻ സ്നാപകനെക്കാൾ വലിയവൻ ആരും എഴുന്നേറ്റിട്ടില്ല; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവനോ അവനിലും വലിയവൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.യോഹന്നാൻ സ്നാപകന്റെ നാളുകൾ മുതൽ ഇന്നേവരെ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തെ ബലാൽക്കാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ബലാൽക്കാരികൾ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കുന്നു.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ന്യായപ്രമാണവും യോഹന്നാൻ വരെ പ്രവചിച്ചു.

And if all of you will receive it, this is Elijah, which was in order to come.നിങ്ങൾക്കു പരിഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ വരുവാനുള്ള ഏലിയാവു അവൻ തന്നേ.

He that has ears to hear, let him hear.കേൾപ്പാൻ ചെവിയുള്ളവർ കേൾക്കട്ടെ.

But unto which shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,എന്നാൽ ഈ തലമുറയെ ഏതിനോടു ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു? ചന്തസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഇരുന്നു ചങ്ങാതികളോടു:

And saying, We have piped unto you, and all of you have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and all of you have not lamented.ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കായി കുഴലൂതി, നിങ്ങൾ നൃത്തംചെയ്തില്ല; ഞങ്ങൾ വിലാപം പാടി, നിങ്ങൾ മാറത്തടിച്ചില്ല; എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്ന കുട്ടികളോടു അതു തുല്യം.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil.യോഹന്നാൻ തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാത്തവനായി വന്നു; അവന്നു ഭൂതമുണ്ടെന്നു അവർ പറയുന്നു.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a wine indulger, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.മുനഷ്യപുത്രൻ തിന്നും കുടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വന്നു; തിന്നിയും കുടിയനുമായ മനുഷ്യൻ; ചുങ്കക്കാരുടെയും പാപികളുടെയും സ്നേഹിതൻ എന്നു അവർ പറയുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനമോ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.”

Then began he to reproach the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾ മിക്കതും നടന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടായ്കയാൽ അവയെ ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി:

Woe unto you, Chorazin! woe unto you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.“കോരസീനേ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; ബേത്ത്സയിദേ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങളിൽ നടന്ന വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾ സോരിലും സീദോനിലും നടന്നിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവർ പണ്ടുതന്നേ രട്ടിലും വെണ്ണീറിലും മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.എന്നാൽ ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ സോരിന്നും സീദോന്നും സഹിക്കാവതാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And you, Capernaum, which are exalted unto heaven, shall be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in you, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.നീയോ കഫർന്നഹൂമേ, സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോളം ഉയർന്നിരിക്കുമോ? നീ പാതാളംവരെ താണുപോകും; നിന്നിൽ നടന്ന വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾ സൊദോമിൽ നടന്നിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതു ഇന്നുവരെ നില്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you.എന്നാൽ ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ നിന്നെക്കാൾ സൊദോമ്യരുടെ നാട്ടിന്നു സഹിക്കാവതാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes.ആ സമയത്തു തന്നേ യേശു പറഞ്ഞതു: പിതാവേ, സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും കർത്താവായുള്ളോവേ, നീ ഇതു ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കും വിവേകികൾക്കും മറെച്ചു ശിശുക്കൾക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു.

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in your sight.അതേ, പിതാവേ, ഇങ്ങനെയല്ലോ നിനക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയതു.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.എന്റെ പിതാവു സകലവും എങ്കൽ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പിതാവല്ലാതെ ആരും പുത്രനെ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പുത്രനും പുത്രൻ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊടുപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനും അല്ലാതെ ആരും പിതാവിനെ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നവരും ഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവരും ആയുള്ളോരേ, എല്ലാവരും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവിൻ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കും.

²⁹

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and all of you shall find rest unto your souls.ഞാൻ സൌമ്യതയും താഴ്മയും ഉള്ളവൻ ആകയാൽ എന്റെ നുകം ഏറ്റുകൊണ്ടു എന്നോടു പഠിപ്പിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാക്കൾക്കു ആശ്വാസം കണ്ടത്തും.

³⁰

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.എന്റെ നുകം മൃദുവും എന്റെ ചുമടു ലഘുവും ആകുന്നു.”
