Concerning the Ammonites, thus says the LORD; Has Israel no sons? has he no heir? why then does their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?അമ്മോന്യരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പുത്രന്മാരില്ലയോ? അവന്നു അവകാശിയില്ലയോ? പിന്നെ മൽക്കോം ഗാദിനെ കൈവശമാക്കി, അവന്റെ ജനം അതിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നതെന്തു?

Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, says the LORD.ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രബ്ബയിൽ യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആർപ്പുവിളി കേൾപ്പിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അന്നു അതു ശൂന്യമായി കല്ക്കുന്നാകും; അതിന്റെ പുത്രീനഗരങ്ങളും തീ പിടിച്ചു വെന്തുപോകും; യിസ്രായേൽ തന്നേ കൈവശമാക്കിയവരെ കൈവശമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, all of you daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run back and forth by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.ഹെശ്ബോനേ, മുറയിടുക; ഹായി ശൂന്യമായ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; രബ്ബയുടെ പുത്രീനഗരങ്ങളേ, നിലവിളിപ്പിൻ; രട്ടുടുത്തുകൊൾവിൻ; വിലപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വേലികൾക്കരികെ ഉഴന്നുനടപ്പിൻ! മൽക്കോമും അവന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും എല്ലാം പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും.

Wherefore glory you in the valleys, your flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?ആർ എന്റെ നേരെ വരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ പുത്രീ, താഴ്വരകളിൽ നീ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്നു? നിന്റെ താഴ്വരകൾ ഒഴുകിപ്പോകുന്നു.

Behold, I will bring a fear upon you, says the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about you; and all of you shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wanders.ഇതാ നിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരാലും ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഭയം വരുത്തും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ചൊവ്വിന്നു ചിതറിപ്പോകും; ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുന്നവരെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർപ്പാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, says the LORD.എന്നാൽ ഒടുക്കം ഞാൻ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Concerning Edom, thus says the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?എദോമിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: തേമാനിൽ ഇനി ജ്ഞാനമില്ലയോ? ആലോചന വിവേകികളെ വിട്ടു നശിച്ചുപോയോ? അവരുടെ ജ്ഞാനം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോയോ?

Flee all of you, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.ദെദാൻ നിവാസികളേ, ഓടിപ്പോകുവിൻ; പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു കുഴികളിൽ പാർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ; ഞാൻ ഏശാവിന്റെ ആപത്തു, അവന്റെ ദർശനകാലം തന്നേ, അവന്നു വരുത്തും.

If grape-gatherers come to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിക്കുന്നവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാൽ കാലാ പറിപ്പാൻ ചിലതു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കയില്ലയോ? രാത്രിയിൽ കള്ളന്മാർ വന്നാൽ തങ്ങൾക്കു മതിയാകുവോളം മാത്രമല്ലോ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു?

But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.എന്നാൽ ഏശാവിനെ ഞാൻ നഗ്നമാക്കി അവന്റെ ഗൂഢസ്ഥലങ്ങളെ അനാവൃതമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഒളിച്ചുകൊൾവാൻ കഴികയില്ല; അവന്റെ സന്തതിയും സഹോദരന്മാരും അയൽക്കാരും നശിച്ചുപോയി; അവനും ഇല്ലാതെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Leave your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let your widows trust in me.നിന്റെ അനാഥന്മാരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്ക; ഞാൻ അവരെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കും; നിന്റെ വിധവമാർ എന്നിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കട്ടെ.

For thus says the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and are you he that shall altogether go unpunished? you shall not go unpunished, but you shall surely drink of it.യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: പാനപാത്രം കുടിപ്പാൻ അർഹതയില്ലാത്തവർ കുടിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു; പിന്നെ നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വരാതെ പോകുമോ? നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വരാതെ പോകയില്ല; നീയും കുടിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

For I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.ബൊസ്രാ സ്തംഭനവും നിന്ദയും ശൂന്യവും ശാപവുമായി ഭവിക്കും; അതിന്റെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും നിത്യശൂന്യങ്ങളായ്തീരും എന്നു ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather all of you together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.നിങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി അതിന്റെ നേരെ ചെല്ലുവിൻ; യുദ്ധത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേല്പിൻ! എന്നിങ്ങനെ വിളിച്ചുപറവാൻ ഒരു ദൂതനെ ജാതികളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നൊരു വർത്തമാനം ഞാൻ യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു കേട്ടു.

For, lo, I will make you small among the heathen, and despised among men.ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചെറിയവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്ദിതനും ആക്കും.

Your terribleness has deceived you, and the pride of yours heart, O you that dwell in the clefts of the rock, that hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from thence, says the LORD.പാറപ്പിളർപ്പുകളിൽ പാർത്തു കുന്നുകളുടെ മുകൾ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനേ, നിന്റെ ഭയങ്കരത്വം വിചാരിച്ചാൽ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ അഹങ്കാരം നിന്നെ ചതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ നിന്റെ കൂടു ഉയരത്തിൽ വെച്ചാലും അവിടെനിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ താഴെ ഇറങ്ങുമാറാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.എദോം സ്തംഭനവിഷയമായ്തീരും; അതിന്നരികത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവരും സ്തംഭിച്ചു അതിന്റെ സകലബാധകളും നിമിത്തം ചൂളകുത്തും.

As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, says the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.സൊദോമിന്റെയും ഗൊമോരയുടെയും അവയുടെ അയൽപട്ടണങ്ങളുടെയും ഉന്മൂലനാശശേഷം എന്നപോലെ അവിടെയും ആരും പാർക്കയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?യോർദ്ദാന്റെ വൻ കാട്ടിൽനിന്നു ഒരു സിംഹം എന്നപോലെ അവൻ എപ്പോഴും പച്ചയായിരിക്കുന്ന മേച്ചൽപുറങ്ങളിലേക്കു കയറിവരുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരെ പെട്ടന്നു അതിൽനിന്നു ഓടിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരാളെ അതിന്നു നിയമിക്കും; എനിക്കു സമനായവൻ ആർ? എനിക്കു നേരം കുറിക്കുന്നവൻ ആർ? എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിൽക്കാകുന്ന ഇടയൻ ആർ?

Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ എദോമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആലോചിച്ച ആലോചനയും തേമാൻ നിവാസികളെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരൂപിച്ച നിരൂപണങ്ങളും കേൾപ്പിൻ; ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ചെറിയവരെ അവർ ഇഴെച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവൻ അവരുടെ മേച്ചൽപുറങ്ങളെ അവരോടുകൂടെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും.

The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.അവരുടെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുഴക്കത്തിങ്കൽ ഭൂമി നടുങ്ങുന്നു; ഒരു നിലവിളി; അതിന്റെ ഒച്ച ചെങ്കടലിൽ കേൾക്കുന്നു!

Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.അവൻ കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ പൊങ്ങി പറന്നു വന്നു ബൊസ്രയുടെമേൽ ചിറകു വിടർക്കും; അന്നാളിൽ എദോമിലെ വീരന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയം നോവുകിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഹൃദയം പോലെയാകും.

Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.ദമ്മേശെക്കിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. ഹമാത്തും അർപ്പാദും ദോഷവർത്തമാനം കേട്ടതു കൊണ്ടു ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഉരുകിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; കടൽവരെ ദുഃഖം വ്യാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്നു അടങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാൻ കഴിവില്ല.

Damascus is waxed feeble, and turns herself to flee, and fear has seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.ദമ്മേശെക്ക് ക്ഷീണിച്ചു ഓടിപ്പോകുവാൻ തിരിയുന്നു; നടുക്കം അതിന്നു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നോവു കിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീക്കു എന്നപോലെ അതിന്നു അതിവ്യസനവും വേദനയും പിടിപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!കീർത്തിയുള്ള പട്ടണം എന്റെ ആനന്ദപുരം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, says the LORD of hosts.അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാർ അതിന്റെ വീഥികളിൽ വീഴുകയും സകലയോദ്ധാക്കളും അന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.ഞാൻ ദമ്മേശെക്കിന്റെ മതിലുകൾക്കു തീവെക്കും; അതു ബെൻ-ഹദദിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall strike, thus says the LORD; Arise all of you, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ ജയിച്ചടക്കിയ കേദാരിനെയും ഹാസോർരാജ്യങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടു കേദാരിൽ ചെന്നു കിഴക്കരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളവിൻ.

Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളെയും ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങളെയും അവർ അപഹരിക്കും; അവരുടെ തിരശ്ശീലകളെയും സകലഉപകരണങ്ങളെയും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെയും അവർ കൊണ്ടുപോകും; സർവ്വത്രഭീതി എന്നു അവർ അവരോടു വിളിച്ചുപറയും.

Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O all of you inhabitants of Hazor, says the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you.ഹാസോർനിവാസികളേ, ഓടിപ്പോകുവിൻ; അതിദൂരത്തു ചെന്നു കുഴിയിൽ പാർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു ആലേചന ആലോചിച്ചു ഒരു നിരൂപണം നിരൂപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwells without care, says the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.വാതിലുകളും ഓടാമ്പലുകളും എല്ലാതെ തനിച്ചു പാർക്കുന്നവരും സ്വൈരവും നിർഭയവുമായി വസിക്കുന്നവരുമായ ജാതിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ചെല്ലുവിൻ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, says the LORD.അവരുടെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾ കവർച്ചയും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലിക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ കൊള്ളയും ആയിത്തീരും; തലയുടെ അരികു വടിച്ചുവരെ ഞാൻ എല്ലാകാറ്റുകളിലേക്കും ചിന്നിച്ചുകളകയും നാലു പുറത്തുനിന്നും അവർക്കു ആപത്തു വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.ഹാസോർ കുറുനരികളുടെ പാർപ്പിടവും നിത്യശൂന്യവും ആയിത്തീരും; ആരും അവിടെ പാർക്കയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ വസിക്കയുമില്ല.

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കൽ ഏലാമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്തെന്നാൽ:

Thus says the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഏലാമിന്റെ മുഖ്യബലമായ അവരുടെ വില്ലു ഒടിച്ചുകളയും.

And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come.ഞാൻ ഏലാമിന്റെ നേരെ ആകാശത്തിന്റെ നാലു ദിക്കിൽനിന്നും നാലു കാറ്റുവരുത്തി ഈ എല്ലാകാറ്റുകളിലേക്കും അവരെ ചിന്നിച്ചുകളയും; ഏലാമിന്റെ ഭ്രഷ്ടന്മാർ ചെല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ജാതികയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയില്ല.

For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, says the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:ഞാൻ ഏലാമ്യരെ അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിലും അവർക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവരുടെ മുമ്പിലും ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കും; ഞാൻ അവർക്കു അനർത്ഥം, എന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം തന്നേ, വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ വാൾ അയച്ചു അവരെ മുടിച്ചുകളയും.

And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, says the LORD.ഞാൻ എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ ഏലാമിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു അവിടെ നിന്നു രാജാവിനെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, says the LORD.എന്നാൽ ഒടുക്കം ഞാൻ ഏലാമിന്റെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Jeremiah 50

The word that the LORD spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചും കല്ദയദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും കല്പിച്ച അരുളപ്പാടു:

Declare all of you among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുവിൻ; കൊടി ഉയർത്തുവിൻ; മറെച്ചുവെക്കാതെ ഘോഷിപ്പിൻ; ബാബേൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ബേൽ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോയി, മേരോദാക്ക് തകർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോയി, അതിലെ ബിംബങ്ങൾ തകർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറവിൻ.

For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.വടക്കുനിന്നു ഒരു ജാതി അതിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു; അതു ആ ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്നു; അതിൽ ആരും വസിക്കുന്നില്ല; മനുഷ്യരും മൃഗങ്ങളും ഓടിപ്പോയ്ക്കളയുന്നു.

In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.ആ നാളുകളിൽ, ആ കാലത്തു, യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളും യെഹൂദാമക്കളും ഒരുമിച്ചു കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു വന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces in that direction, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.അവർ സീയോനിലേക്കു മുഖം തിരിച്ചു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു: വരുവിൻ; മറന്നുപോകാത്തതായ ഒരു ശാശ്വത നിയമത്താൽ നമുക്കു യഹോവയോടു ചേർന്നുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറയും.

My people has been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.എന്റെ ജനം കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകൾ ആയീത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഇടയന്മാർ അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചു മലകളിൽ ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുമാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ മലയിൽനിന്നു കുന്നിന്മേൽ പോയി തങ്ങളുടെ കിടപ്പിടം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.അവരെ കാണുന്നവരൊക്കെയും അവരെ തിന്നുകളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ വൈരികൾ: നാം കുറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല; അവർ നീതിനിവാസമായ യഹോവയോടു, അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രത്യാശയായ യഹോവയോടു തന്നേ, പാപം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.ബാബേലിൽനിന്നു ഓടി കല്ദയദേശം വിട്ടു പോകുവിൻ; ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു മുമ്പായി നടക്കുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിപ്പിൻ.

For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.ഞാൻ ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ വടക്കെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു മഹാജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തെ ഉണർത്തി വരുത്തും; അവർ അതിന്റെ നേരെ അണി നിരത്തും; അവിടെവെച്ചു അതു പിടിക്കപ്പെടും; അവരുടെ അമ്പുകൾ വെറുതെ മടങ്ങാതെ സമർത്ഥവീരന്റെ അമ്പുകൾ പോലെ ഇരിക്കും.

And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, says the LORD.കല്ദയദേശം കൊള്ളയിട്ടുപോകും; അതിനെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവർക്കു ഏവർക്കും തൃപ്തിവരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Because all of you were glad, because all of you rejoiced, O all of you destroyers of mine heritage, because all of you are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;എന്റെ അവകാശം കൊള്ളയിട്ടവരേ, നിങ്ങൾ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു, നിങ്ങൾ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു, ധാന്യം മെതിക്കുന്ന പശുക്കിടാവിനെപ്പോലെ തുള്ളിക്കളിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു, ബലമുള്ള കുതിരയെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ ചിറാലിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.നിങ്ങളുടെ അമ്മ ഏറ്റവും ലജ്ജിക്കും നിങ്ങളെ പ്രസവിച്ചവൾ നാണിച്ചുപോകും; അവൾ ജാതികളിൽ അന്ത്യജാതിയും മരുഭൂമിയും വരണ്ട നിലവും ശൂന്യദേശവും ആകും.

Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധം ഹേതുവായി അതു നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെ അശേഷം ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും; ബാബേലിന്നരികത്തു കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവരും സ്തംഭിച്ചു അതിന്റെ സകല ബാധകളും നിമിത്തം ചൂളുകുത്തും.

Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all you that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against the LORD.ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ ചുറ്റം അണിനിരത്തുവിൻ; എല്ലാ വില്ലാളികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, അമ്പുകളെ ലോഭിക്കാതെ അതിലേക്കു എയ്തുവിടുവിൻ; അതു യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Shout against her round about: she has given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she has done, do unto her.അതിന്നുചുറ്റും നിന്നു ആർപ്പിടുവിൻ; അതു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കൊത്തളങ്ങൾ വീണുപോയി; അതിന്റെ മതിലുകൾ ഇടിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരമല്ലോ; അതിനോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്‍വിൻ; അതു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അതിനോടും ചെയ്‍വിൻ.

Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handles the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.വിതെക്കുന്നവനെയും കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു അരിവാൾ പിടിക്കുന്നവനെയും ബാബേലിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളവിൻ; നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വാൾ പേടിച്ചു ഓരോരുത്തൻ സ്വജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകയും സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകയും ചെയ്യും.

Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria has devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.യിസ്രായേൽ ചിന്നിപ്പോയ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടം ആകുന്നു; സിംഹങ്ങൾ അതിനെ ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; ആദ്യം അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു അതിനെ തിന്നു; ഒടുക്കം ഇപ്പോൾ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ അതിന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവിനെ സന്ദർശിച്ചതുപോലെ ബാബേൽ രാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെയും സന്ദർശിക്കും.

And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.പിന്നെ ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ അവന്റെ മേച്ചൽപുറത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തും; അവൻ കർമ്മേലിലും ബാശാനിലും മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും; എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിലും ഗിലെയാദിലും മേഞ്ഞു അവന്നു തൃപ്തിവരും.

In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.ഞാൻ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയാൽ ആ നാളുകളിൽ ആ കാലത്തു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അകൃത്യം അന്വേഷിച്ചാൽ അതു ഇല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കും; യെഹൂദയുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിച്ചാൽ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, says the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded you.ദ്വിമത്സരം (മെറാഥയീം) എന്ന ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ചെല്ലുക; അതിന്റെ നേരെയും സന്ദർശനം (പെക്കോദ്) എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ നേരെയും തന്നേ; നീ അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു വെട്ടി നിർമ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തി ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്ക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആരവവും മഹാസംഹാരവും ദേശത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടു.

How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!സർവ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും ചുറ്റിക പിളർന്നു തകർന്നുപോയതെങ്ങനെ? ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ബാബേൽ ശൂന്യമായിത്തീർന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, O Babylon, and you were not aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have striven against the LORD.ബാബേലേ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു കണിവെച്ചു, നീ അറിയാതെ അകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തി പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയോടല്ലോ നീ പൊരുതിയതു.

The LORD has opened his armoury, and has brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.യഹോവ തന്റെ ആയുധശാല തുറന്നു തന്റെ ക്രോധത്തിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്നു കല്ദയദേശത്തു ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്‍വാനുണ്ടു.

Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.സകലദിക്കുകളിലും നിന്നു അതിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു അതിന്റെ കളപ്പുരകളെ തുറപ്പിൻ; അതിനെ കറ്റപോലെ കൂമ്പാരം കൂട്ടുവിൻ; അതിൽ ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ നിർമ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തുവിൻ;

Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day has come, the time of their visitation.അതിലെ കാളയെ ഒക്കെയും കൊല്ലുവിൻ; അവ കുലെക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അവർക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; അവരുടെ നാൾ, അവരുടെ സന്ദർശനകാലം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരം, തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രതികാരം തന്നേ, സീയോനിൽ അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേൽദേശത്തുനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നവരുടെ ഘോഷം!

Call together the archers against Babylon: all you that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do unto her: for she has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ വില്ലാളികളെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവിൻ; വില്ലു കുലെക്കുന്ന ഏവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, അതിന്റെ നേരെ ചുറ്റും പാളയമിറങ്ങുവിൻ; ആരും അതിൽ നിന്നു ചാടിപ്പോകരുതു; അതിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്നു പകരം കൊടുപ്പിൻ; അതു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അതിനോടും ചെയ്‍വിൻ; അതു യഹോവയോടു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനോടു തന്നേ, അഹങ്കാരം കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, says the LORD.അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാർ അതിന്റെ വീഥികളിൽ വീഴും; അതിലെ യോദ്ധാക്കാൾ ഒക്കെയും അന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Behold, I am against you, O you most proud, says the Lord GOD of hosts: for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.അഹങ്കാരിയോ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വിരോധിയായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; നിന്റെ നാൾ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന കാലം, വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.അഹങ്കാരി ഇടറി വീഴും; ആരും അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ അവന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കു തീ വെക്കും; അതു അവന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

Thus says the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളും യെഹൂദാമക്കളും ഒരുപോലെ പീഡിതരായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോയവരൊക്കെയും അവരെ വിട്ടയപ്പാൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and trouble the inhabitants of Babylon.എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരൻ ശക്തിമാൻ; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം; ഭൂമിക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും ബാബേൽനിവാസികൾക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും അവരുടെ വ്യവഹാരം അവൻ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ നടത്തും.

A sword is upon the Chaldeans, says the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.കല്ദയരുടെ മേലും ബാബേൽനിവാസികളുടെമേലും അതിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ മേലും ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മേലും വാൾ വരുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

A sword is upon the liars; and they shall be foolish: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.വമ്പു പറയുന്നവർ ഭോഷന്മാരാകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേൽ വാൾ വരും; അതിലെ വീരന്മാർ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേലും വാൾ വരും.

A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.അവരുടെ കുതിരകളുടെമേലും രഥങ്ങളുടെമേലും അതിന്റെ നടുവിലെ സർവ്വസമ്മിശ്രജാതിയും സ്ത്രീകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിത്തീരത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേലും വാൾ വരും; അതിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങൾ കവർന്നുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവയുടെ മേലും വാൾവരും.

A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.അതിലെ വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അതിന്മേൽ വറുതി വരുത്തും; അതു വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ദേശമല്ലോ; ഘോരബിംബങ്ങൾ നിമിത്തം അവർ ഭ്രന്തന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.ആകയാൽ അവിടെ മരുമൃഗങ്ങൾ കുറുനരികളോടുകൂടെ പാർക്കും; ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷിയും അവിടെ വസിക്കും; ഇനി അതിൽ ഒരു നാളും കുടിപാർപ്പുണ്ടാകയില്ല; തലമുറതലമുറയായി അതു നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെ കിടക്കും.

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, says the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.ദൈവം സൊദോമും ഗൊമോരയും അവയുടെ അയൽ പട്ടണങ്ങളും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞശേഷം എന്നപോലെ അവിടെയും ആരും പാർക്കയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.വടക്കുനിന്നു ഒരു ജാതി വരുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ഒരു മഹാജാതിയും അനേകം രാജാക്കന്മാരും ഇളകിവരുന്നു.

They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not show mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against you, O daughter of Babylon.അവർ വില്ലും കുന്തവും എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ക്രൂരന്മാർ, കരുണയില്ലാത്തവർ തന്നേ; അവരുടെ ആരവം കടൽപോലെ ഇരെക്കുന്നു; ബാബേൽ പുത്രീ, അവർ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി ഓരോരുത്തനും കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി നിന്റെ നേരെ അണിനിരന്നു നില്ക്കുന്നു.

The king of Babylon has heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.ബാബേൽരാജാവു അവരുടെ വർത്തമാനം കേട്ടിട്ടു അവന്റെ ധൈര്യം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോയി; നോവുകിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയെപ്പോലെ അവനെ അതിവ്യസനവും വേദനയും പിടിച്ചു.

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?യോർദ്ദാന്റെ വൻ കാട്ടിൽനിന്നു ഒരു സിംഹം എന്നപോലെ അവൻ, എപ്പോഴും പച്ചയായിരിക്കുന്ന മേച്ചൽ പുറങ്ങളിലേക്കു കയറിവരുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരെ പെട്ടെന്നു അതിൽനിന്നു ഓടിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരാളെ അതിന്നു നിയമിക്കും; എനിക്കു സമനായവൻ ആർ? എനിക്കു നേരം കുറിക്കുന്നവൻ ആർ? എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിൽക്കാകുന്ന ഇടയൻ ആർ?

Therefore hear all of you the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആലോചിച്ച ആലേചനയും കല്ദയരുടെ ദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരൂപിച്ച നിരൂപണങ്ങളും കേൾപ്പിൻ! ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ചെറിയവരെ അവർ ഇഴെച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവൻ അവരുടെ മേച്ചൽപുറങ്ങളെ അവരോടുകൂടെ ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളയും.

At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.ബാബേൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന ഘോഷംകൊണ്ടു ഭൂമി നടുങ്ങുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നിലവിളി ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കേൾക്കുന്നു.

Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെയും എന്റെ എതിരാളികളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ നേരെയും സംഹാരകന്റെ മനസ്സു ഉണർത്തും.

And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.പാറ്റുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ ബാബേലിലേക്കു അയക്കും; അവർ അതിനെ പാറ്റി ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും; അനർത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ അവർ അതിനെ നാലുപുറവും വളയും.

Against him that bends let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifts himself up in his brigandine: and spare all of you not her young men; destroy all of you utterly all her host.വില്ലാളി വില്ലു കുലെക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ കവചം ധരിച്ചു നിവിർന്നുനിൽക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാരെ ആദരിക്കാതെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കിക്കളവിൻ.

Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets.അങ്ങനെ കല്ദയരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിഹതന്മാരും അതിന്റെ വീഥികളിൽ കുത്തിത്തുളക്കപ്പെട്ടവരും വീഴും.

For Israel has not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.യിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും യെഹൂദയുടെയും ദേശങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനോടുള്ള അകൃത്യംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ അവയുടെ ദൈവം അവയെ വിധവമാരായി വിട്ടിട്ടില്ല.

Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.ബാബേലിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു ഓടി ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ അതിന്റെ അകൃത്യത്തിൽ നശിച്ചുപോകരുതു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരകാലമല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അവൻ അതിനോടു പകരം ചെയ്യും;

Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.ബാബേൽ യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യിൽ സർവ്വഭൂമിയെയും ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പൊൻപാനപാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു; ജാതികൾ അതിലെ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിട്ടു അവർക്കു ഭ്രാന്തു പിടിച്ചു.

Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.പെട്ടെന്നു ബാബേൽ വീണു തകർന്നുപോയി; അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുറയിടുവിൻ; അതിന്റെ വേദനെക്കു തൈലം കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ; പക്ഷേ അതിന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reachs unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.ഞങ്ങൾ ബാബേലിന്നു ചികിത്സ ചെയ്തു എങ്കിലും സൌഖ്യം വന്നില്ല; അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളവിൻ; നാം ഓരോരുത്തനും നമ്മുടെ സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു പോക; അതിന്റെ ശിക്ഷാവിധി സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോളം എത്തി ആകാശത്തോളം പൊങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

The LORD has brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ നീതി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; വരുവിൻ, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ സീയോനിൽ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുക.

Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.അമ്പു മിനുക്കുവിൻ; പരിച ധരിപ്പിൻ; യഹോവ മേദ്യരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ മനസ്സു ഉണർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ബാബേലിനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്റെ നിരൂപണം അതിന്നു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരം, തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രതികാരം തന്നേ.

Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD has both devised and done that which he spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon.ബാബേലിന്റെ മതിലുകൾക്കു നേരെ കൊടി ഉയർത്തുവിൻ; കാവൽ ഉറപ്പിപ്പിൻ; കാവൽക്കാരെ നിർത്തുവിൻ; പതിയിരിപ്പുകാരെ ഒരുക്കുവിൻ; യഹോവ ബാബേൽനിവാസികളെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിർണ്ണയിച്ചും അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

O you that dwell upon many waters, abundant in treasures, yours end has come, and the measure of your covetousness.വലിയ വെള്ളങ്ങൾക്കരികെ വസിക്കുന്നവളായി വളരെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളവളേ, നിന്റെ അവസാനം നിന്നെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളവാനുള്ള അവധി, വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

The LORD of hosts has sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill you with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall lift up a shout against you.ഞാൻ നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു വിട്ടിലുകളെക്കൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ മനുഷ്യരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ നിറെക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ നേരെ ആർപ്പിടും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ തന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heaven by his understanding.അവൻ തന്റെ ശക്തിയാൽ ഭൂമിയെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്താൽ ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു, തന്റെ വിവേകത്താൽ ആകാശത്തെ വിരിച്ചു.

When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasures.അവൻ തന്റെ നാദം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആകാശത്തു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അവൻ ആവി കയറ്റുന്നു; മഴെക്കു മിന്നൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിൽനിന്നു കാറ്റു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.ഏതു മനുഷ്യനും മൃഗപ്രായനും പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവനുമാകുന്നു. തട്ടാന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും വിഗ്രഹംനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; അവർ വാർത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ ബിംബം വ്യാജമത്രേ.

They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.അവയിൽ ശ്വാസവും ഇല്ല. അവ മായയും വ്യർത്ഥപ്രവൃത്തിയും തന്നേ; സന്ദർശനകാലത്തു അവ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഓഹരിയായവൻ ഇവയെപ്പോലെയല്ല; അവൻ സർവ്വത്തെയും നിർമ്മിച്ചവൻ; യിസ്രായേൽ അവന്റെ അവകാശഗോത്രം; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

You are my battle axe and weapons of war: for with you will I break in pieces the nations, and with you will I destroy kingdoms;നീ എന്റെ വെണ്മഴുവും യുദ്ധത്തിന്നുള്ള ആയുധങ്ങളും ആകുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ജാതികളെ തകർക്കയും നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു രാജ്യങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

And with you will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with you will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ കുതിരയെയും അതിന്റെ പുറത്തു കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെയും തകർക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ രഥത്തെയും അതിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവനെയും തകർക്കും;

With you also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with you will I break in pieces old and young; and with you will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പുരുഷനെയും സ്ത്രീയെയും തകർക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ വൃദ്ധനെയും ബാലനെയും തകർക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യുവാവിനെയും യുവതിയെയും തകർക്കും.

I will also break in pieces with you the shepherd and his flock; and with you will I break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; and with you will I break in pieces captains and rulers.നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഇടയനെയും ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെയും തകർക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ കൃഷിക്കാരനെയും അവന്റെ ഏർകാളയെയും തകർക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ദേശാധിപതികളെയും സ്ഥാനാപതികളെയും തകർക്കും.

And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, says the LORD.നിങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ ഞാൻ ബാബേലിന്നും സകല കല്ദയനിവാസികൾക്കും അവർ സീയോനിൽ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന സകലദോഷത്തിന്നും തക്കവണ്ണം പകരം വീട്ടുമെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, says the LORD, which destroys all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain.സകലഭൂമിയെയും നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിനാശകപർവ്വതമേ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മേൽ കൈ നീട്ടി നിന്നെ പാറകളിൽനിന്നു ഉരുട്ടി ദഹനപർവ്വതം ആക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

And they shall not take of you a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but you shall be desolate for ever, says the LORD.നിന്നിൽനിന്നു അവർ മൂലക്കല്ലായിട്ടോ അടിസ്ഥാനക്കല്ലായിട്ടോ ഒരു കല്ലും എടുക്കാതവണ്ണം നീ നിത്യശൂന്യമായി ഭവിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Set all of you up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillars.ദേശത്തു ഒരു കൊടി ഉയർത്തുവിൻ; ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കാഹളം ഊതുവിൻ; ജാതികളെ അതിന്റെ നേരെ സംസ്കരിപ്പിൻ; അറാറാത്ത്, മിന്നി, അസ്കെനാസ്, എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളെ അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവിൻ; അതിന്നെതിരെ ഒരു സേനാപതിയെ നിയമിപ്പിൻ; പരുപരുത്ത വിട്ടിലുകളെപ്പോലെ കുതിരകളെ പുറപ്പെടുമാറാക്കുവിൻ.

Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.മേദ്യരുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാരും ദേശാധിപതിമാരും സകല സ്ഥാനാപതിമാരും അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട സകലദേശക്കാരുമായ ജാതികളെ അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസ്കരിപ്പിൻ;

And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.ബാബേൽദേശത്തെ നിവാസികളില്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ നിരൂപണങ്ങൾ നിവൃത്തിയായ്‍വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദേശം നടുങ്ങി സങ്കടപ്പെടുന്നു.

The mighty men of Babylon have ceased to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might has failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwelling places; her bars are broken.ബാബേലിലെ വീരന്മാർ യുദ്ധം മതിയാക്കി കോട്ടകളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ശക്തി ക്ഷയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ സ്ത്രീകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വീടുകൾക്കു തീ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ ഓടാമ്പലുകൾ തകർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken at every quarter,പട്ടണം നാലുപുറവും പിടിപെട്ടുപോയി, കടവുകൾ ശത്രുവശമായി, കളങ്ങൾ തീ പിടിച്ചു ദഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, യോദ്ധാക്കൾ ഭയപരവശരായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനോടു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.ഓട്ടാളൻ ഓട്ടാളന്നും ദൂതൻ ദൂതന്നും എതിരെ ഓടുന്നു.

For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേൽപുത്രി മെതികാലത്തെ മെതിക്കളംപോലെയായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അതിന്റെ കൊയ്ത്തുകാലം വരും.

Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me, he has crushed me, he has made me an empty vessel, he has swallowed me up like a dragon, he has filled his belly with my delicates, he has cast me out.ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ എന്നെ തിന്നുമുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു, അവൻ എന്നെ വെറുമ്പാത്രമാക്കി, മഹാസർപ്പം എന്നപോലെ അവൻ എന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു, എന്റെ സ്വാദുഭോജ്യങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു വയറു നിറെച്ചു, എന്നെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.ഞാൻ സഹിച്ച സാഹസവും ദേഹപീഡയും ബാബേലിന്മേൽ വരട്ടെ എന്നു സീയോൻ നിവാസിനി പറയും; എന്റെ രക്തം കല്ദയ നിവാസികളുടെമേൽ വരട്ടെ എന്നു യെരൂശലേം പറയും.

Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി, നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യും; അതിന്റെ കടൽ ഞാൻ ഉണക്കി, അതിന്റെ ഉറവുകൾ വറ്റിച്ചുകളയും.

And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.ബാബേൽ, നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെ കല്ക്കുന്നുകളും കുറുനരികളുടെ പാർപ്പിടവും വിസ്മയത്തിന്നും ചൂളകുത്തുന്നതിന്നും വിഷയവുമായ്തീരും.

They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions' whelps.അവർ ഒക്കെയും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഗർജ്ജിക്കും; അവർ സിംഹികളുടെ കുട്ടികളെപ്പോലെ മുരളും.

In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the LORD.അവർ ജയമത്തരായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഉല്ലസിച്ചു ഉണരാതവണ്ണം നിത്യനിദ്ര കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവർക്കു ഒരു പാനീയം ഒരുക്കി അവരെ ലഹരി പിടിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats.ഞാൻ അവരെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെപ്പോലെയും മുട്ടാടുകളോടുകൂടി ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെപ്പോലെയും കുലനിലത്തേക്കു ഇറക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു വരും.

How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!ശേശക്ക് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയതെങ്ങനെ? സർവ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും പ്രശംസയായിരുന്നതു ശത്രുവശമായ്പോയതെങ്ങനെ? ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ബാബേൽ ഒരു സ്തംഭനവിഷയമായ്തീർന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

The sea has come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.ബാബേലിന്മേൽ കടൽ കവിഞ്ഞുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ തിരകളുടെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു അതു മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwells, neither does any son of man pass thereby.അതിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ശൂന്യവും വരണ്ടനിലവും മരുഭൂമിയും ആരും പാർക്കാത്തതും വഴനടക്കാത്തതും ആയ ദേശവും ആയിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.ഞാൻ ബാബേലിൽവെച്ചു ബേലിനെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു, അവൻ വിഴുങ്ങിയതിനെ അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു പുറത്തിറക്കും; ജാതികൾ ഇനി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഓടിച്ചെല്ലുകയില്ല; ബാബേലിന്റെ മതിൽ വീണുപോകും.

My people, go all of you out of the midst of her, and deliver all of you every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.എന്റെ ജനമേ, അതിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിൻ; യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപത്തിൽനിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

And lest your heart faint, and all of you fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.ദേശത്തു കേൾക്കുന്ന വർത്തമാനംകൊണ്ടും ഒരു ആണ്ടിൽ ഒരു വർത്തമാനവും പിറ്റെയാണ്ടിൽ മറ്റൊരു വർത്തമാനവും കേൾക്കുമ്പോഴും സാഹസകൃത്യങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോഴും അധിപതി അധിപതിക്കു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുമ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളുടെ ധൈര്യം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകരുതു; നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അരുതു.

Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ബാബേലിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ സന്ദർശിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം വരും; അന്നു ദേശമെല്ലാം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും; അതിലെ നിഹതന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും അതിന്റെ നടുവിൽ വീഴും.

Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, says the LORD.ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും അവയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ബാബേലിനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കും; വടക്കുനിന്നു വിനാശകന്മാർ അതിലേക്കു വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

As Babylon has caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.യിസ്രായേൽ നിഹതന്മാരേ, ബാബേൽ വീഴേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ബാബേലിനോടുകൂടെ സർവ്വദേശവും തന്നേ.

All of you that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD far off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.വാളിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയവരേ, നിൽക്കാതെ ചെല്ലുവിൻ; ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു യഹോവയെ ഓർപ്പിൻ; യെരൂശലേം നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഓർമ്മ വരട്ടെ!

We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame has covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD's house.ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്ദ കേട്ടു ലജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അന്യന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കു വന്നിരിക്കയാൽ ലജ്ജ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുഖം മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Wherefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan.അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അതിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ സന്ദർശിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം വരും എാന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അന്നു ദേശത്തെല്ലാടവും നിഹതന്മാർ കിടന്നു ഞരങ്ങും.

Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, says the LORD.ബാബേൽ ആകാശത്തോളം കയറിയാലും കോട്ട ഉയർത്തി ഉറപ്പിച്ചാലും, ഞാൻ വിനാശകന്മാരെ അതിലേക്കു അയക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

A sound of a cry comes from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans:ബാബേലിൽനിന്നു നിലവിളിയും കല്ദയദേശത്തുനിന്നു മഹാനാശവും കേൾക്കുന്നു.

Because the LORD has spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:യഹോവ ബാബേലിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു അതിൽ നിന്നു മഹാഘോഷം ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ തിരകൾ പെരുവെള്ളംപോലെ ഇരെക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ആരവത്തിന്റെ മുഴക്കം കേൾക്കുന്നു.

Because the spoiler has come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite.അതിന്റെ നേരെ, ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ തന്നേ, വിനാശകൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വീരന്മാർ പിടിപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വില്ലു എല്ലാം ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോയി; യഹോവ പ്രതികാരത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമാകുന്നു; അവൻ പകരം ചെയ്യും.

And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.ഞാൻ അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും ജ്ഞാനികളെയും ദേശാധിപതിമാരെയും സ്ഥാനാപതികളെയും വീരന്മാരെയും മത്തുപിടിപ്പിക്കും; അവർ ഉണരാതവണ്ണം നിത്യനിദ്രകൊള്ളും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നു നാമമുള്ള രാജാവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Thus says the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേലിന്റെ വിശാലമായ മതിലുകൾ അശേഷം ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; അതിന്റെ ഉയർന്ന വാതിലുകൾ തീ പിടിച്ചു വെന്തുപോകും; അങ്ങനെ വംശങ്ങളുടെ അദ്ധ്വാനം വ്യർത്ഥമായും ജാതികളുടെ പ്രയത്നം തീക്കിരയായും തീരുകയും അവർ ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ നാലം ആണ്ടിൽ, അവനോടുകൂടെ മഹ്സേയാവിന്റെ മകനായ നേർയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെരായാവു പ്രയാണാദ്ധ്യക്ഷനായി ബാബേലിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോൾ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ സെരായാവോടു കല്പിച്ചു വചനം--

So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.ബാബേലിന്നു വരുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന അനർത്ഥമൊക്കെയും, ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സകലവചനങ്ങളും തന്നേ, യിരെമ്യാവു ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതി --

And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When you come to Babylon, and shall see, and shall read all these words;യിരെമ്യാവു സെരായാവോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ ബാബേലിൽ എത്തിയശേഷം ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയും നോക്കി വായിച്ചിട്ടു:

Then shall you say, O LORD, you have spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.യഹോവേ, ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു മനുഷ്യനോ മൃഗമോ ഒന്നും ശേഷിക്കാതെ അതു ശാശ്വതശൂന്യമായിരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം നീ അതിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുമെന്നു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറയേണം.

And it shall be, when you have made an end of reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:പിന്നെ ഈ പുസ്തകം വായിച്ചശേഷം നീ അതിന്നു ഒരു കല്ലു കെട്ടി ഫ്രാത്തിന്റെ നടുവിലേക്കു എറിഞ്ഞു;

And you shall say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.ഇങ്ങനെ ബാബേൽ ആണ്ടുപോകും; ഞാൻ അതിന്നു വരുത്തുന്ന അനർത്ഥത്തിൽനിന്നു അതു പൊങ്ങിവരികയില്ല; അവർ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു പറയേണം. ഇത്രത്തോളം യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ.
