Nehemiah 12

Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,ശെയൽതീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിനോടും യേശുവയോടുംകൂടെ വന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ആവിതു:

Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.സല്ലൂ, ആമോക്, ഹിൽക്കീയാവു, യെദായാവു. ഇവർ യേശുവയുടെ കാലത്തു പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെയും തലവന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു.

Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, which was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.ലേവ്യരോ യേശുവ, ബിന്നൂവി, കദ്മീയേൽ, ശേരെബ്യാവു, യെഹൂദാ എന്നിവരും സ്തോത്രഗാനനായകനായ മത്ഥന്യാവും സഹോദരന്മാരും.

Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were opposite to them in the watches.അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ബക്ക്ബൂക്ക്യാവും ഉന്നോവും അവർക്കു സഹകാരികളായി ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചുനിന്നു.

And Jeshua brings forth Joiakim, Joiakim also brings forth Eliashib, and Eliashib brings forth Joiada,യേശുവ യോയാക്കീമിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; യോയാക്കീം എല്യാശീബിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; എല്യാശീബ് യോയാദയെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു;

And Joiada brings forth Jonathan, and Jonathan brings forth Jaddua.യോയാദാ യോനാഥാനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; യോനാഥാൻ യദ്ദൂവയെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And in the days of Joiakim were priests, the chief of the fathers: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;യോയാക്കീമിന്റെ കാലത്തു പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരായിരുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാർ സെറായാ കുലത്തിന്നു മെരായ്യാവു; യിരെമ്യാകുലത്തിന്നുഹനന്യാവു;

Of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;എസ്രാകുലത്തിന്നു മെശുല്ലാം;

Of Melicu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;അമർയ്യാകുലത്തിന്നു യെഹോഹാനാൻ; മല്ലൂക്ക് കുലത്തിന്നു യോനാഥാൻ; ശെബന്യാകുലത്തിന്നു യോസേഫ്;

Of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;ഹാരീംകുലത്തിന്നു അദ്നാ; മെരായോത്ത് കുലത്തിന്നു ഹെൽക്കായി;

Of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;ഇദ്ദോകുലത്തിന്നു സെഖർയ്യാവു; ഗിന്നെഥോൻ കുലത്തിന്നു മെശുല്ലാം;

Of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai:അബീയാകുലത്തിന്നു സിക്രി; മിന്യാമീൻ കുലത്തിന്നും മോവദ്യാകുലത്തിന്നും പിൽതായി;

Of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;ബിൽഗാകുലത്തിന്നു ശമ്മൂവ; ശെമയ്യാകുലത്തിന്നു യെഹോനാഥാൻ;

And of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;യോയാരീബ് കലത്തിന്നു മഥെനായി; യെദായാകുലത്തിന്നു ഉസ്സി;

Of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;സല്ലായി കുലത്തിന്നു കല്ലായി; ആമോക്ക് കുലത്തിന്നു ഏബെർ;

Of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethaneel.ഹിൽക്കീയാകുലത്തിന്നു ഹശബ്യാവു; യെദായാകുലത്തിന്നു നെഥനയേൽ.

The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Darius the Persian.എല്യാശീബ്, യോയാദാ, യോഹാനാൻ, യദ്ദൂവ എന്നിവരുടെ കാലത്തു ലേവ്യരെയും പാർസിരാജാവായ ദാർയ്യാവേശിന്റെ കാലത്തു പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരായി എഴുതിവെച്ചു.

The sons of Levi, the chief of the fathers, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.ലേവ്യരായ പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാർ ഇന്നവരെന്നു എല്യാശീബിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാന്റെ കാലംവരെ ദിനവൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരുന്നു.

And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren opposite to them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward opposite to ward.ലേവ്യരുടെ തലവന്മാർ: ഹശബ്യാവു, ശേരെബ്യാവു, കദ്മീയേലിന്റെ മകൻ യേശുവ എന്നിവരും അവരുടെ സഹകാരികളായ സഹോദരന്മാരും ദൈവപുരുഷനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം തരംതരമായി നിന്നു സ്തുതിയും സ്തോത്രവും ചെയ്തുവന്നു.

Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.മത്ഥന്യാവും ബ്ക്കുബൂക്ക്യാവു, ഓബദ്യാവു, മെശുല്ലാം, തല്മോൻ, അക്കൂബ്, എന്നിവർ വാതിലുകൾക്കരികെയുള്ള ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹങ്ങൾ കാക്കുന്ന വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാർ ആയിരുന്നു.

These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.ഇവർ യോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യേശുവയുടെ മകനായ യോയാക്കീമിന്റെ കാലത്തും ദേശാധിപതിയായ നെഹെമ്യാവിന്റെയും ശാസ്ത്രിയായ എസ്രാപുരോഹിതന്റെയും കാലത്തും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച സമയം അവർ സ്തോത്രങ്ങളോടും സംഗീതത്തോടും കൂടെ കൈത്താളങ്ങളും വീണകളും കിന്നരങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടു സന്തോഷപൂർവ്വം പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ആചരിപ്പാൻ ലേവ്യരെ അവരുടെ സർവ്വവാസസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു അന്വേഷിച്ചു വരുത്തി.

And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;അങ്ങനെ സംഗീതക്കാരുടെ വർഗ്ഗം യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള പ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നും നെതോഫാത്യരുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും

Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had built them villages round about Jerusalem.ബേത്ത്-ഗിൽഗാലിൽനിന്നും ഗേബയുടെയും അസ്മാവെത്തിന്റെയും നാട്ടുപുറങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും വന്നുകൂടി; സംഗീതക്കാർ യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ ചുറ്റും തങ്ങൾക്കു ഗ്രാമങ്ങൾ പണിതിരുന്നു.

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടു ജനത്തെയും വാതിലുകളെയും മതിലിനെയും ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.

Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:പിന്നെ ഞാൻ യെഹൂദാപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ മതിലിന്മേൽ കൊണ്ടു പോയി; സ്തോത്രഗാനം ചെയ്തുംകൊണ്ടു പ്രദക്ഷിണം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു രണ്ടു വലിയ കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ നിയമിച്ചു; അവയിൽ ഒന്നു മതിലിന്മേൽ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തുകൂടി കുപ്പവാതിൽക്കലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ഹോശയ്യാവും യെഹൂദാപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരിൽ പാതിപേരും നടന്നു.

And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,അസർയ്യാവും എസ്രയും മെശുല്ലാമും

Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,യെഹൂദയും ബെന്യമീനും ശെമയ്യാവും

And certain of the priests' sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:യിരെമ്യാവും കാഹളങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പുരോഹിതപുത്രന്മാരിൽ ചിലരും ആസാഫിന്റെ മകനായ സക്കൂരിന്റെ മകനായ മീഖായാവിന്റെ മകനായ മത്ഥന്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ശെമയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാന്റെ മകൻ സെഖർയ്യാവും

And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.ദൈവപുരുഷനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ശെമയ്യാവു അസരയേലും മീലലായിയും ഗീലലായിയും മായായിയും നെഥനയേലും യെഹൂദയും ഹനാനിയും നടന്നു; എസ്രാശാസ്ത്രി അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നടന്നു.

And at the fountain gate, which was opposite to them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward.അവർ ഉറവുവാതിൽ കടന്നു നേരെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിന്റെ പടിക്കെട്ടിൽകൂടി ദാവീദിന്റെ അരമനെക്കപ്പുറം മതിലിന്റെ കയറ്റത്തിൽ കിഴക്കു നീർവ്വാതിൽവരെ ചെന്നു.

And the other company of them that gave thanks went opposite to them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall;സ്തോത്രഗാനക്കാരുടെ രണ്ടാം കൂട്ടം അവർക്കു എതിരെ ചെന്നു; അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ഞാനും ജനത്തിൽ പാതിയും മതിലിന്മേൽ ചൂളഗോപുരത്തിന്നു അപ്പുറം വിശാലമതിൽവരെയും എഫ്രയീംവാതിലിന്നപ്പുറം

And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate.പഴയവാതിലും മീൻ വാതിലും ഹനനേലിന്റെ ഗോപുരവും ഹമ്മേയാഗോപുരവും കടന്നു ആട്ടുവാതിൽവരെയും ചെന്നു; അവർ കാരാഗൃഹവാതിൽക്കൽ നിന്നു.

So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me:അങ്ങനെ സ്തോത്രഗാനക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടം രണ്ടും ഞാനും എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള പ്രമാണികളിൽ പാതിപേരും നിന്നു.

And the priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;കാഹളങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ എല്യാക്കീം, മയസേയാവു, മിന്യാമീൻ, മീഖായാവു, എല്യോവേനായി, സെഖർയ്യാവു, ഹനന്യാവു, എന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരും മയസേയാവു,

And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.ശെമയ്യാവു, എലെയാസാർ, ഉസ്സി, യെഹോഹാനാൻ മൽക്കീയാവു, ഏലാം, ഏസെർ എന്നിവരും ദൈവാലയത്തിന്നരികെ വന്നുനിന്നു; സംഗീതക്കാർ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ പാട്ടുപാടി; യിസ്രഹ്യാവു അവരുടെ പ്രമാണിയായിരുന്നു.

Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even far off.അവർ അന്നു മഹായാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു; ദൈവം അവർക്കു മഹാസന്തോഷം നല്കിയിരുന്നു; സ്ത്രീകളും പൈതങ്ങളുംകൂടെ സന്തോഷിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലെ സന്തോഷഘോഷം ബഹുദൂരത്തോളം കേട്ടു.

And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.അന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും കുറിച്ചു യെഹൂദാജനം സന്തോഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കും ലേവ്യർക്കും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഓഹരികളെ, പട്ടണങ്ങളോടു ചേർന്ന നിലങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ശേഖരിച്ചു ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിന്നും ഉദർച്ചാർപ്പണങ്ങൾക്കും ഉള്ള അറകളിൽ സൂക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ചില പുരുഷന്മാരെ മേൽവിചാരകന്മാരായി നിയമിച്ചു.

And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷയും ശുദ്ധീകരണശുശ്രൂഷയും നടത്തി; സംഗീതക്കാരും വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാരും ദാവീദിന്റെയും അവന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോന്റെയും കല്പനപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തു.

For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.പണ്ടു ദാവീദിന്റെയും ആസാഫിന്റെയും കാലത്തു സംഗീതക്കാർക്കു ഒരു തലവനും ദൈവത്തിന്നു സ്തുതിയും സ്തോത്രവും ആയുള്ള ഗീതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും സെരുബ്ബാബേലിന്റെ കാലത്തും നെഹെമ്യാവിന്റെ കാലത്തും സംഗീതക്കാർക്കും വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാർക്കും ദിവസേന ആവശ്യമായ ഉപജീവനം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു. അവർ ലേവ്യർക്കു നിവേദിതങ്ങളെ കൊടുത്തു; ലേവ്യർ അഹരോന്യർക്കും നിവേദിതങ്ങളെ കൊടുത്തു.

Nehemiah 13

On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;അന്നു ജനം കേൾക്കെ മോശെയുടെ പുസ്തകം വായിച്ചതിൽ അമ്മോന്യരും മോവാബ്യരും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഭയിൽ ഒരു നാളും പ്രവേശിക്കരുതു;

Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: nevertheless our God turned the curse into a blessing.അവർ അപ്പവും വെള്ളവുംകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ എതിരേറ്റുവരാതെ അവരെ ശപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർക്കു വിരോധമായി ബിലെയാമിനെ കൂലിക്കു വിളിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം ആ ശാപത്തെ അനുഗ്രഹമാക്കി എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.ആ ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവർ സമ്മിശ്രജാതികളെ ഒക്കെയും യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു വേറുപിരിച്ചു.

And before this, Eliashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto Tobiah:അതിന്നു മുമ്പെ തന്നേ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലെ അറകൾക്കു മേൽവിചാരകനായി നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന എല്യാശീബ് പുരോഹിതൻ തോബീയാവിന്റെ ബന്ധുവായിരുന്നതിനാൽ അവന്നു ഒരു വലിയ അറ ഒരുക്കിക്കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു.

And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where in old times they laid the food offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.മുമ്പെ അവിടെ ഭോജനയാഗം, കുന്തുരുക്കം, ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയും ലേവ്യർക്കും സംഗീതക്കാർക്കും വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാർക്കും വേണ്ടി നിയമിച്ച ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ, എന്നിവയുടെ ദശാംശവും പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കുള്ള ഉദർച്ചാർപ്പണങ്ങളും വെച്ചിരുന്നു.

But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king:ഈ കാലത്തൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല: ബാബേൽ രാജാവായ അർത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാവിന്റെ മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ ഞാൻ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയിരുന്നു; കുറെനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു

And I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.ഞാൻ രാജാവിനോടു അനുവാദം വാങ്ങി യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നാറെ എല്യാശീബ് തോബീയാവിന്നു ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു അറ ഒരുക്കിക്കൊടുത്തതിനാൽ ചെയ്തദോഷം ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞു.

And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff to Tobiah out of the chamber.അതു എനിക്കു അത്യന്തം വ്യസനമായതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ തോബീയാവിന്റെ വീട്ടുസാമാനമൊക്കെയും അറയിൽനിന്നു പുറത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞു.

Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the food offering and the frankincense.പിന്നെ ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടു അവർ ആ അറകളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗവും കുന്തുരുക്കവും ഞാൻ വീണ്ടും അവിടെ വരുത്തി.

And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.ലേവ്യർക്കു ഉപജീവനം കൊടുക്കായ്കയാൽ വേല ചെയ്യുന്ന ലേവ്യരും സംഗീതക്കാരും ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ നിലത്തിലേക്കു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞു

Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.പ്രമാണികളെ ശാസിച്ചു: ദൈവാലയത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു അവരെ കൂട്ടി വരുത്തി അവരുടെ സ്ഥാനത്തു നിർത്തി.

Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries.പിന്നെ എല്ലായെഹൂദന്മാരും ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയുടെ ദശാംശം ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹങ്ങളിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah: and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah: for they were counted faithful, and their office was to distribute unto their brethren.ഞാൻ ശേലെമ്യാപുരോഹിതനെയും സാദോക്ക് ശാസ്ത്രിയെയും ലേവ്യരിൽ പെദായാവെയും ഇവർക്കു സഹായിയായിട്ടു മത്ഥന്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സക്കൂരിന്റെ മകൻ ഹാനാനെയും ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹങ്ങളുടെ മേൽവിചാരകന്മാരായി നിയമിച്ചു; അവരെ വിശ്വസ്തരെന്നു എണ്ണിയിരുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു പങ്കിട്ടുകൊടുക്കുന്നതായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ ഉദ്യോഗം.

Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof.എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, ഇതു എനിക്കായി ഓർക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നും അതിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കും വേണ്ടി ചെയ്ത എന്റെ സൽപ്രവൃത്തികളെ മായിച്ചുകളയരുതേ.

In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.ആ കാലത്തു യെഹൂദയിൽ ചിലർ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ മുന്തിരിച്ചകൂ ചവിട്ടുന്നതും കറ്റ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതും കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു ചുമടുകയറ്റുന്നതും ശബ്ബത്തിൽ വീഞ്ഞു, മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം, അത്തിപ്പഴം മുതലായ ചുമടെല്ലാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നതും കണ്ടു; അവർ ഭക്ഷണസാധനം വില്ക്കുന്ന ദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.സോർയ്യരും അവിടെ പാർത്തു മത്സ്യവും പല ചരക്കും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ യെഹൂദ്യർക്കും യെരൂശലേമിലും വിറ്റുപോന്നു.

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that all of you do, and profane the sabbath day?അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യെഹൂദാശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരെ ശാസിച്ചു; നിങ്ങൾ ശബ്ബത്തുനാൾ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി ഇങ്ങനെ ദോഷം ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്തു?

Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet all of you bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തതിനാലല്ലയോ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം നമ്മുടെ മേലും ഈ നഗരത്തിന്മേലും ഈ അനർത്ഥം ഒക്കെയും വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതു? എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ശബ്ബത്തിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതിനാൽ യിസ്രായേലിന്മേൽ ഉള്ള ക്രോധം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.പിന്നെ ശബ്ബത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ യെരൂശലേം നഗരവാതിലുകളിൽ ഇരുട്ടായിത്തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ വാതിലുകൾ അടെപ്പാനും ശബ്ബത്ത് കഴിയുംവരെ അവ തുറക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചു; ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ ഒരു ചുമടും അകത്തു കടത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വാതിലുകൾക്കരികെ എന്റെ ആളുകളിൽ ചിലരെ നിർത്തി.

So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.അതുകൊണ്ടു കച്ചവടക്കാരും പലചരകൂ വില്ക്കുന്നവരും ഒന്നു രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം യെരൂശലേമിന്നു പുറത്തു രാപാർത്തു.

Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge all of you about the wall? if all of you do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ മതിലിന്നരികെ രാപാർക്കുന്നതെന്തു? നിങ്ങൾ ഇനിയും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിക്കും എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു. ആ കാലംമുതൽ അവർ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ വരാതെയിരുന്നു.

And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of your mercy.ലേവ്യരോടു ഞാൻ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിനെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കയും വന്നു വാതിലുകളെ കാക്കുകയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ കല്പിച്ചു. എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, ഇതുവും എനിക്കായി ഓർത്തു നിന്റെ മഹാദയപ്രകാരം എന്നോടു കനിവു തോന്നേണമേ.

In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:ആ കാലത്തു ഞാൻ അസ്തോദ്യരും അമ്മോന്യരും മോവാബ്യരും ആയ സ്ത്രീകളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ച യെഹൂദന്മാരെ കണ്ടു.

And their children spoke half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.അവരുടെ മക്കൾ പാതി അസ്തോദ്യഭാഷ സംസാരിച്ചു; അവർ അതതു ജാതിയുടെ ഭാഷയല്ലാതെ യെഹൂദ്യഭാഷ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

And I contended with them, and cursed them, and stroke certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, All of you shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.അവരെ ഞാൻ ശാസിച്ചു ശപിച്ചു അവരിൽ ചിലരെ അടിച്ചു അവരുടെ തലമുടി പറിച്ചു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കരുതു; അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കോ നിങ്ങൾക്കോ എടുക്കയുമരുതു എന്നു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ദൈവനാമത്തിൽ സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did foreign women cause to sin.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ശലോമോൻ ഇതിനാൽ പാപം ചെയ്തില്ലയോ? അവനെപ്പോലെ ഒരു രാജാവു അനേകംജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അവൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രിയനായിരുന്നതിനാൽ ദൈവം അവനെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവാക്കി; എങ്കിലും അവനെയും അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളായ ഭാര്യമാർ വശീകരിച്ചു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?നിങ്ങൾ അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു ദ്രോഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ വലിയ ദോഷം ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ സമ്മതിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.യോയാദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ എല്യാശീബിന്റെ മകൻ ഹോരോന്യനായ സൻ ബല്ലത്തിന്റെ മരുമകൻ ആയിരുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, അവർ പൌരോഹിത്യത്തെയും പൌരോഹിത്യത്തിന്റെയും ലേവ്യരുടെയും നിയമത്തെയും മലിനമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നതു അവർക്കു കണക്കിടേണമേ.

Thus cleansed I them from all strangers, and appointed the wards of the priests and the Levites, every one in his business;ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ അന്യമായതൊക്കെയും നീക്കി അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കയും പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കും ലേവ്യർക്കും ഓരോരുത്തന്നു താന്താന്റെ വേലയിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷക്രമവും നിശ്ചിതസമയങ്ങൾക്കു വിറകുവഴിപാടും

And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the first-fruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.ആദ്യഫലവും നിയമിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, ഇതു എനിക്കു നന്മെക്കായിട്ടു ഓർക്കേണമേ.

Esther 1

Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this is Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto Ethiopia, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:)അഹശ്വേരോശിന്റെ കാലത്തു--ഹിന്തുദേശംമുതൽ കൂശ്‌ വരെ നൂറ്റിരുപത്തേഴു സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ വാണ അഹശ്വേരോശ് ഇവൻ തന്നേ -

That in those days, when the king Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Shushan the palace,ആ കാലത്തു അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവു ശൂശൻ രാജധാനിയിൽ തന്റെ രാജാസനത്തിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ

In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him:തന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ തന്റെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും ഭൃത്യന്മാർക്കും ഒരു വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചു; പാർസ്യയിലെയും മേദ്യയിലെയും സേനാധിപന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും സംസ്ഥാനപതികളും അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

When he showed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days, even an hundred and fourscore days.അന്നു അവൻ തന്റെ രാജകീയമഹത്വത്തിന്റെ ഐശ്വര്യവും തന്റെ മഹിമാധിക്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രതാപവും ഏറിയനാൾ, നൂറ്റെണ്പതു ദിവസത്തോളം തന്നേ, കാണിച്ചു.

And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace;ആ നാളുകൾ കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം രാജാവു ശൂശൻരാജധാനിയിൽ കൂടിയിരുന്ന വലിയവരും ചെറിയവരുമായ സകലജനത്തിന്നും രാജധാനിയുടെ ഉദ്യാനപ്രാകാരത്തിൽവെച്ചു ഏഴുദിവസം വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചു.

Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble.അവിടെ വെൺകൽ തൂണുകളിന്മേൽ വെള്ളിവളയങ്ങളിൽ ശണനൂലും ധൂമ്രനൂലുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ചരടുകളാൽ വെള്ളയും പച്ചയും നീലയുമായ ശീലകൾ തൂക്കിയിരുന്നു; ചുവന്നതും വെളുത്തതും മഞ്ഞയും കറുത്തതുമായ മർമ്മരക്കല്ലു പടുത്തിരുന്ന തളത്തിൽ പൊൻകസവും വെള്ളിക്കസവുമുള്ള മെത്തകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.വിവിധാകൃതിയിലുള്ള പൊൻപാത്രങ്ങളിലായിരുന്നു അവർക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുത്തതു; രാജവീഞ്ഞും രാജപദവിക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ധാരാളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure.എന്നാൽ രാജാവു തന്റെ രാജധാനിവിചാരകന്മാരോടു: ആരെയും നിർബ്ബന്ധിക്കരുതു; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ മനസ്സുപോലെ ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതിനാൽ പാനം ചട്ടംപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.

Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus.രാജ്ഞിയായ വസ്ഥിയും അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ രാജധാനിയിൽവെച്ചു സ്ത്രീകൾക്കു ഒരു വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചു.

On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,ഏഴാം ദിവസം വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു ആനന്ദമായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവു: മെഹൂമാൻ, ബിസ്ഥാ, ഹർബ്ബോനാ, ബിഗ്ദ്ധാ, അബഗ്ദ്ധാ, സേഥർ, കർക്കസ് എന്നിങ്ങനെ രാജധാനിയിൽ സേവിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന

To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to show the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.ഏഴു ഷണ്ഡന്മാരോടു ജനങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും വസ്ഥിരാജ്ഞിയുടെ സൌന്ദര്യം കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവളെ രാജകിരീടം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു; അവൾ സുമുഖിയായിരുന്നു.

But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very angry, and his anger burned in him.എന്നാൽ ഷണ്ഡന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം അയച്ച രാജകല്പന മറുത്തു വസ്ഥിരാജ്ഞി ചെല്ലാതിരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടു രാജാവു ഏറ്റവും കോപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ കോപം അവന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ജ്വലിച്ചു.

Then the king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgment:ആ സമയത്തു രാജമുഖം കാണുന്നവരും രാജ്യത്തു പ്രധാനസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരുമായ കെർശനാ, ശേഥാർ, അദ്മാഥാ, തർശീശ്, മേരെസ്, മർസെനാ, മെമൂഖാൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെ പാർസ്യയിലെയും മേദ്യയിലെയും ഏഴു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ അവനോടു അടുത്തു ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king's face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;)രാജ്യധർമ്മത്തിലും ന്യായത്തിലും പരിജ്ഞാനികളായ എല്ലാവരോടും ആലോചിക്കുക പതിവായിരുന്നതിനാൽ കാലജ്ഞന്മാരായ ആ വിദ്വാന്മാരോടു രാജാവു:

What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law, because she has not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the chamberlains?ഷണ്ഡന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവു അയച്ച കല്പന വസ്ഥിരാജ്ഞി അനുസരിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു രാജ്യധർമ്മപ്രകാരം അവളോടു ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, Vashti the queen has not done wrong to the king only, but also to all the princes, and to all the people that are in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus.അതിന്നു മെമൂഖാൻ രാജാവിനോടും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: വസ്ഥിരാജ്ഞി രാജാവിനോടു മാത്രമല്ല, അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ സർവ്വസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലുള്ള സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും ജാതികളോടും അന്യായം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not.രാജ്ഞിയുടെ ഈ പ്രവൃത്തി സകലസ്ത്രീകളും അറിയും; അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവു വസ്ഥിരാജ്ഞിയെ തന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചയച്ചാറെ അവൾ ചെന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരെ നിന്ദിക്കും.

Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king's princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath.ഇന്നു തന്നെ രാജ്ഞിയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി കേട്ട പാർസ്യയിലെയും മേദ്യയിലെയും പ്രഭുപത്നിമാർ രാജാവിന്റെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പറയും; ഇങ്ങനെ നിന്ദയും നീരസവും അധികരിക്കും.

If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she.രാജാവിന്നു സമ്മതമെങ്കിൽ വസ്ഥി ഇനി അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വരരുതു എന്നു തിരുമുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഒരു രാജകല്പന പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കയും അതു മാറ്റിക്കൂടാതവണ്ണം പാർസ്യരുടെയും മേദ്യരുടെയും രാജ്യധർമ്മത്തിൽ എഴുതിക്കയും രാജാവു അവളുടെ രാജ്ഞിസ്ഥാനം അവളെക്കാൾ നല്ലവളായ മറ്റൊരുത്തിക്കു കൊടുക്കയും വേണം.

And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.രാജാവു കല്പിക്കുന്ന വിധി രാജ്യത്തെല്ലാടവും--അതു മഹാരാജ്യമല്ലോ--പരസ്യമാകുമ്പോൾ സകലഭാര്യമാരും വലിയവരോ ചെറിയവരോ ആയ തങ്ങളുടെ ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരെ ബഹുമാനിക്കും.

And the saying pleased the king and the princes; and the king did according to the word of Memucan:ഈ വാക്കു രാജാവിന്നും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും ബോധിച്ചു; രാജാവു മെമൂഖാന്റെ വാക്കുപോലെ ചെയ്തു.

For he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that it should be published according to the language of every people.ഏതു പുരുഷനും തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കർത്തവ്യം നടത്തുകയും സ്വഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കയും വേണമെന്നു രാജാവു തന്റെ സകലസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കും അതതു സംസ്ഥാനത്തേക്കു അതതിന്റെ അക്ഷരത്തിലും അതതു ജാതിക്കു അവരവരുടെ ഭാഷയിലും എഴുത്തു അയച്ചു.
