Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor has come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരിൽ ഒരുത്തി എലീശയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു: നിന്റെ ദാസനായ എന്റെ ഭർത്താവു മരിച്ചുപോയി; നിന്റെ ദാസൻ യഹോവാഭക്തനായിരുന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കറിയാമല്ലോ; ഇപ്പോൾ കടക്കാരൻ എന്റെ രണ്ടു മക്കളെ പിടിച്ചു അടിമകളാക്കുവാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for you? tell me, what have you in the house? And she said, Yours handmaid has not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.എലീശ അവളോടു: ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം? പറക; വീട്ടിൽ നിനക്കു എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഒരു ഭരണി എണ്ണയല്ലാതെ അടിയന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ മറ്റൊന്നും ഇല്ല എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

Then he said, Go, borrow you vessels abroad of all your neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.അതിന്നു അവൻ: നീ ചെന്നു നിന്റെ അയൽക്കാരോടൊക്കെയും വെറുമ്പാത്രങ്ങൾ വായ്പ വാങ്ങുക; പാത്രങ്ങൾ കുറവായിരിക്കരുതു.

And when you are come in, you shall shut the door upon you and upon your sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that which is full.പിന്നെ നീയും നിന്റെ മക്കളും അകത്തു കയറി വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു പാത്രങ്ങളിലൊക്കെയും പകർന്നു, നിറഞ്ഞതു നിറഞ്ഞതു ഒരു ഭാഗത്തുമാറ്റിവെക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.അവൾ അവനെ വിട്ടു ചെന്നു തന്റെ മക്കളോടുകൂടെ അകത്തു കടന്നു വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു; അവർ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പാത്രങ്ങളെ വെച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും അവൾ പകരുകയും ചെയ്തു.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.പാത്രങ്ങൾ നിറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൾ തന്റെ മകനോടു: ഇനിയും പാത്രം കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവളോടു: പാത്രം ഒന്നും ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ എണ്ണ നിന്നുപോയി.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt, and live you and your children of the rest.അവൾ ചെന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനോടു വസ്തുത അറിയിച്ചു. നീ പോയി എണ്ണ വിറ്റു കടം വീട്ടി ശേഷിപ്പുകൊണ്ടു നീയും മക്കളും ഉപജീവനും കഴിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it fell upon a certain day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.ഒരു ദിവസം എലീശാ ശൂനേമിലേക്കു പോയി; അവിടെ ധനികയായോരു സ്ത്രി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൾ അവനെ ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു വരേണം എന്നു നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചു. പിന്നെത്തേതിൽ അവൻ ആ വഴി പോകുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു അവിടെ കയറും.

And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passes by us continually.അവൾ തന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനോടു: നമ്മുടെ വഴിയായി കൂടക്കൂടെ കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഈയാൾ വിശുദ്ധനായോരു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു.

Let us make a little chamber, I pray you, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in thither.നാം ചുവരോടുകൂടിയ ചെറിയോരു മാളികമുറി പണിതുണ്ടാക്കുക; അതിൽ അവന്നു ഒരു കട്ടിലും ഒരു മേശയും ഒരു നാൽക്കാലിയും ഒരു നിലവിളക്കും വെക്കുക; അവൻ നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരുമ്പോൾ അവന്നു അവിടെ കയറി പാർക്കാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it fell upon a certain day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.പിന്നെ ഒരു ദിവസം അവൻ അവിടെ വരുവാൻ ഇടയായി; അവൻ ആ മാളികമുറിയിൽ കയറി അവിടെ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി.

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.അവൻ തന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരനായ ഗേഹസിയോടു: ശൂനേംകാരത്തിയെ വിളിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവളെ വിളിച്ചു. അവൾ അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വന്നുനിന്നു.

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, you have been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for you? would you be spoken in order to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.അവൻ അവനോടു: നീ ഇത്ര താല്പര്യത്തോടെയൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി കരുതിയല്ലോ? നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം? രാജാവിനോടോ സേനാധിപതിയോടോ നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി വല്ലതും പറയേണ്ടതുണ്ടോ എന്നു നീ അവളോടു ചോദിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു അവൾ: ഞാൻ സ്വജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she has no child, and her husband is old.എന്നാൽ അവൾക്കു വേണ്ടി എന്തുചെയ്യാമെന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഗേഹസി: അവൾക്കു മകനില്ലല്ലോ; അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവു വൃദ്ധനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.അവളെ വിളിക്ക എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവളെ വിളിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൾ വാതിൽക്കൽ വന്നുനിന്നു.

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, you shall embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, you man of God, do not lie unto yours handmaid.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: വരുന്ന ആണ്ടിൽ ഈ സമയമാകുമ്പോഴേക്കു നീ ഒരു മകനെ അണെച്ചുകൊള്ളും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു അവൾ: അല്ല, ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എന്റെ യജമാനനേ, അടിയനോടു ഭോഷ്കു പറയരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.ആ സ്ത്രീ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു പിറ്റെ ആണ്ടിൽ എലീശാ അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞ സമയത്തു തന്നേ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

And when the child was grown, it fell upon a certain day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.ബാലൻ വളർന്നപ്പോൾ ഒരു ദിവസം അവൻ കൊയ്ത്തുകാരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്ന തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.അവൻ അപ്പനോടു: എന്റെ തല, എന്റെ തല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: ഇവനെ എടുത്തു അമ്മയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.അവൻ അവനെ എടുത്തു അവന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കെണ്ടുചെന്നു; അവൻ ഉച്ചവരെ അവളുടെ മടിയിൽ ഇരുന്നശേഷം മരിച്ചുപോയി.

And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.അപ്പോൾ അവൾ കയറിച്ചെന്നു അവനെ ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ കിടത്തി വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു പുറത്തിറങ്ങി.

And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray you, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.പിന്നെ അവൾ തന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനെ വിളിച്ചു: ഞാൻ വേഗത്തിൽ ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കലോളം പോയിവരേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരനെയും ഒരു കഴുതയെയും അയച്ചുതരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Wherefore will you go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.അതിന്നു അവൻ: ഇന്നു നീ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? ഇന്നു അമാവാസ്യയല്ല, ശബ്ബത്തും അല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. വേണ്ടതില്ല എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not your riding for me, except I bid you.അങ്ങനെ അവൾ കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കോപ്പിട്ടു കയറി ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: നല്ലവണ്ണം തെളിച്ചുവിടുക; ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞല്ലാതെ വഴിയിൽ എവിടെയും നിർത്തരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her far off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:അവൾ ചെന്നു കർമ്മേൽപർവ്വതത്തിൽ ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി; ദൈവപുരുഷൻ അവളെ ദൂരത്തുകണ്ടപ്പോൾ തന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരനായ ഗേഹസിയോടു: അതാ, ശൂനേംകാരത്തി വരുന്നു; നീ ഓടിച്ചെന്നു അവളെ എതിരേറ്റു:

Run now, I pray you, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with you? is it well with your husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:സുഖം തന്നേയോ? ഭർത്താവു സുഖമായിരിക്കുന്നുവോ? ബാലന്നു സുഖമുണ്ടോ എന്നു അവളോടു ചോദിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സുഖം തന്നേ എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD has hid it from me, and has not told me.അവൾ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ കാൽ പിടിച്ചു; ഗേഹസി അവളെ മാറ്റുവാൻ അടുത്തുചെന്നാറെ ദൈവപുരുഷൻ: അവളെ വിടുക; അവൾക്കു വലിയ മനോവ്യസനം ഉണ്ടു; യഹോവ അതു എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതെ മറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?ഞാൻ യജമാനനോടു ഒരു മകനെ ചോദിച്ചിരുന്നുവോ? എന്നെ ചതിക്കരുതേ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins, and take my staff in yours hand, and go your way: if you meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute you, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.ഉടനെ അവൻ ഗേഹസിയോടു: നീ അര കെട്ടി എന്റെ വടിയും കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തുപോക; നീ ആരെ എങ്കിലും കണ്ടാൽ വന്ദനം ചെയ്യരുതു; നിന്നെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്താൽ പ്രതിവന്ദനം പറകയും അരുതു; എന്റെ വടി ബാലന്റെ മുഖത്തു വെക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the mother of the child said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And he arose, and followed her.എന്നാൽ ബാലന്റെ അമ്മ യഹോവയാണ, നിന്റെ ജീവനാണ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിടുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവളോടുകൂടെ പോയി.

And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.ഗേഹസി അവർക്കു മുമ്പായി ചെന്നു വടി ബാലന്റെ മുഖത്തു വെച്ചു; എങ്കിലും ഒരു അനക്കമോ ഉണർച്ചയോ ഉണ്ടായില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ മടങ്ങിവന്നു: ബാലൻ ഉണർന്നില്ല എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.

And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.എലീശാ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ തന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ ബാലൻ മരിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നതുകണ്ടു.

He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them two, and prayed unto the LORD.താനും ബാലനും മാത്രം അകത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കെ അവൻ വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.പിന്നെ അവൻ കയറി ബാലന്റെ മേൽ കിടന്നു; തന്റെ വായ് ബാലന്റെ വായ്മേലും തന്റെ കണ്ണു അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേലും തന്റെ ഉള്ളംകൈകൾ അവന്റെ ഉള്ളം കൈകളിന്മേലും വെച്ചു അവന്റെമേൽ കവിണ്ണുകിടന്നപ്പോൾ ബാലന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു ചൂടുപിടിച്ചു.

Then he returned, and walked in the house back and forth; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.അവൻ ഇറങ്ങി മുറിയിൽ അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും ഒന്നു നടന്നിട്ടു പിന്നെയും കയറി അവന്റെമേൽ കവിണ്ണുകിടന്നു; അപ്പോൾ ബാലൻ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം തുമ്മി കണ്ണു തുറന്നു.

And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up your son.അവൻ ഗേഹസിയെ വിളിച്ചു; ശൂനേംകാരത്തിയെ വിളിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അവൻ അവളെ വിളിച്ചു. അവൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ: നിന്റെ മകനെ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോയ്ക്കൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.അവൾ അകത്തുചെന്നു അവന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു തന്റെ മകനെ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.

And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.അനന്തരം എലീശാ ഗില്ഗാലിൽ പോയി; അന്നു ദേശത്തു ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: നീ വലിയ കലം അടുപ്പത്തു വെച്ചു പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യന്മാർക്കു പായസം ഉണ്ടാക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.ഒരുത്തൻ ചീര പറിപ്പാൻ വയലിൽ ചെന്നു ഒരു കാട്ടുവള്ളി കണ്ടു മടിനിറയ പേച്ചുര പറിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവർ അറിയായ്കയാൽ അരിഞ്ഞു പായസക്കലത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു.

So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O you man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.അവർ അതു ആളുകൾക്കു വിളമ്പി; അവർ പായസം കുടിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിലവിളിച്ചു; ദൈവപുരുഷനായുള്ളോവേ കലത്തിൽ മരണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.അവർക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. മാവു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു അതു കലത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു: ആളുകൾക്കു വിളമ്പികൊടുക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ ദൂഷ്യമായുള്ളതൊന്നും കലത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.അനന്തരം ബാൽ-ശാലീശയിൽനിന്നു ഒരാൾ ദൈവപുരുഷന്നു ആദ്യഫലമായിട്ടു ഇരുപതു യവത്തപ്പവും മലരും പൊക്കണത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. ജനത്തിന്നു അതു തിന്മാൻ കൊടുക്ക എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And his personal attendant said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus says the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.അതിന്നു അവന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരൻ: ഞാൻ ഇതു നൂറു പേർക്കു എങ്ങനെ വിളമ്പും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ പിന്നെയും: ജനത്തിന്നു അതു തിന്മാൻ കൊടുക്ക; അവർ തിന്നുകയും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ അവർക്കു വിളമ്പിക്കൊടുത്തു; യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം അവർ തിന്നുകയും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ നയമാൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരാമിന്നു ജയം നല്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവനെ മഹാനും മാന്യനും ആയി എണ്ണി; അവൻ പരാക്രമശാലി എങ്കിലും കുഷ്ഠരോഗി ആയിരുന്നു.

And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.അരാമ്യർ കവർച്ചപ്പടയായി വന്നിരുന്നപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോയിരുന്നു; അവൾ നയമാന്റെ ഭാര്യക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുവന്നു.

And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.അവൾ തന്റെ യജമാനത്തിയോടു: യജമാനൻ ശമർയ്യയിലെ പ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒന്നു ചെന്നെങ്കിൽ അവൻ അവന്റെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.അവൻ ചെന്നു തന്റെ യജമാനനോടു: യിസ്രായേൽദേശക്കാരത്തിയായ പെൺകുട്ടി ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.നീ പോയി വരിക; ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്നു ഒരു എഴുത്തു തരാം എന്നു അരാംരാജാവു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പത്തു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും ആറായിരം ശേക്കെൽ പൊന്നും പത്തു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും എടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter has come unto you, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may recover him of his leprosy.അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എഴുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു; അതിൽ: ഈ എഴുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന എന്റെ ഭൃത്യൻ നയമാന്റെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം നീ മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man does send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു എഴുത്തു വായിച്ചപ്പോൾ വസ്ത്രം കീറി: അവൻ ഇതാ, കുഷ്ഠരോഗം മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരാളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു! മരിപ്പിക്കയും ജീവിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഞാൻ ദൈവമോ? നോക്കുവിൻ, അവൻ ഇതിനാൽ എന്നോടു ശണ്ഠെക്കു കാരണം അന്വേഷിക്കയല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore have you rent your clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എലീശാ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: നീ വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരട്ടെ; എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവൻ അറിയും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.അങ്ങനെ നയമാൻ രഥത്തോടും കുതിരകളോടുംകൂടെ എലീശയുടെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ വന്നു നിന്നു.

And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.എലീശാ ആളയച്ചു: നീ ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം കുളിക്ക; അപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദേഹം മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെയായി നീ ശുദ്ധനാകും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.അപ്പോൾ നയമാൻ ഏറ്റവും ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടു: അവൻ തന്നേ പുറത്തുവന്നു അടുത്തുനിന്നു തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു തന്റെ കൈ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്മീതെ ആട്ടി ഇങ്ങനെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ നദികളായ അബാനയും പർപ്പരും യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ വെള്ളങ്ങളെക്കാളും നല്ലതല്ലയോ? എനിക്കു അവയിൽ കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാകരുതോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൻ ക്രോധത്തോടെ പോയി.

And his servants came near, and spoke unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid you do some great thing, would you not have done it? how much rather then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean?എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു: പിതാവേ, പ്രവാചകൻ വലിയോരു കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ നീ ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? പിന്നെ അവൻ: കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാക എന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചാൽ എത്ര അധികം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ ചെന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം മുങ്ങി; അവന്റെ ദേഹം ചെറിയ ബാലന്റെ ദേഹം പോലെ ആയി; അവൻ ശുദ്ധനായ്തീർന്നു.

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray you, take a blessing of your servant.പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ സകലപരിവാരവുമായി ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങി വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു; യിസ്രായേലിൽ അല്ലാതെ ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും ഒരു ദൈവം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നു; ആകയാൽ അടിയന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു ഒരു പ്രതിഗ്രഹം കൈക്കൊള്ളേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But he said, As the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.അതിന്നു അവൻ: ഞാൻ സേവിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണ, ഞാൻ ഒന്നും കൈക്കൊള്ളുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കൈക്കൊൾവാൻ അവനെ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടും അവൻ വാങ്ങിയില്ല.

And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray you, be given to your servant two mules' burden of earth? for your servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.അപ്പോൾ നയമാൻ: എന്നാൽ രണ്ടു കോവർക്കഴുതച്ചുമടു മണ്ണു അടിയന്നു തരുവിക്കേണമേ; അടിയൻ ഇനി യഹോവെക്കല്ലാതെ അന്യദൈവങ്ങൾക്കു ഹോമയാഗവും ഹനനയാഗവും കഴിക്കയില്ല.

In this thing the LORD pardon your servant, that when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon your servant in this thing.ഒരു കാര്യത്തിൽ മാത്രം യഹോവ അടിയനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ: എന്റെ യജമാനൻ നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ രിമ്മോന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ചെന്നു എന്റെ കൈത്താങ്ങലോടെ കുമ്പിടുമ്പോൾ ഞാനും രിമ്മോന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നമസ്കരിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ യഹോവ അടിയനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.അവൻ അവനോടു: സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD lives, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.അവൻ അവനെ വിട്ടു കുറെ ദൂരം പോയശേഷം ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എലീശയുടെ ബാല്യക്കാരൻ ഗേഹസി: അരാമ്യൻ നയമാൻ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വാങ്ങാതെ വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; യഹോവയാണ, ഞാൻ അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഓടിച്ചെന്നു അവനോടു അല്പമെങ്കിലും വാങ്ങുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?അങ്ങനെ അവൻ നയമാനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു. അവൻ തന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഓടിവരുന്നതു നയമാൻ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ രഥത്തിൽനിന്നിറങ്ങി അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു: സുഖം തന്നെയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said, All is well. My master has sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray you, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.അതിന്നു അവൻ: സുഖം തന്നേ; ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടു യൌവനക്കാർ എഫ്ര്യയീംമലനാട്ടിൽനിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർക്കു ഒരു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും രണ്ടു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും തരേണമേ എന്നു പറവാൻ എന്റെ യജമാനൻ എന്നെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.ദയ ചെയ്തു രണ്ടു താലന്തു വാങ്ങേണമേ എന്നു നയമാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനെ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചു രണ്ടു സഞ്ചിയിൽ രണ്ടു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും രണ്ടു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും കെട്ടി തന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരുടെ പക്കൽ കൊടുത്തു; അവർ അതു ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നടന്നു.

And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed.കുന്നിന്നരികെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ അതു അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വാങ്ങി വീട്ടിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു വെച്ചിട്ടു ബാല്യക്കാരെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവർ പോകയും ചെയ്തു.

But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence come you, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant went no where.പിന്നെ അവൻ അകത്തു കടന്നു യജമാനന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു. എന്നാറെ എലീശാ അവനോടു: ഗേഹസിയേ, നീ എവിടെ പോയിരുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അടിയൻ എങ്ങും പോയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with you, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive yards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and male servants, and maidservants?അതിന്നു അവൻ: ആ പുരുഷൻ രഥത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി നിന്നെ എതിരേറ്റപ്പോൾ എന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിന്നോടു കൂടെ പോന്നിരുന്നില്ലയോ? ദ്രവ്യം സമ്പാദിപ്പാനും വസ്ത്രം, ഒലിവുതോട്ടം, മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം, ആടുമാടുകൾ, ദാസീദാസന്മാർ എന്നീവകമേടിപ്പാനും ഇതാകുന്നുവോ സമയം?

The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto you, and unto your seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.ആകയാൽ നയമാന്റെ കുഷ്ഠം നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും എന്നേക്കും പിടിച്ചിരിക്കും എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ ഹിമംപോലെ വെളുത്തു കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയായി അവനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി.

And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with you is too strait for us.പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യന്മാർ എലീശയോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ പാർക്കുന്ന ഈ സ്ഥലം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തീരെ ഇടുക്കമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നീ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Let us go, we pray you, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go all of you.ഞങ്ങൾ യോർദ്ദാനോളം ചെന്നു അവിടെനിന്നു ഓരോരുത്തൻ ഓരോ മരം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പാർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു സ്ഥലം ഉണ്ടാക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. പോകുവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൻ മരം മുറിക്കുമ്പോൾ കോടാലി ഊരി വെള്ളത്തിൽ വീണു; അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; യജമാനനേ, അതു വായിപ്പ വാങ്ങിയതായിരുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ നിലവിളിച്ചു.

And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he showed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.അതു എവിടെ വീണു എന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ ചോദിച്ചു; അവൻ ആ സ്ഥലം അവനെ കാണിച്ചു; അവൻ ഒരു കോൽ വെട്ടി അവിടെ എറിഞ്ഞു; ആ ഇരിമ്പു പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

Therefore said he, Take it up to you. And he put out his hand, and took it.അതു എടുത്തുകൊൾക എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ കൈ നീട്ടി അതു എടുത്തു.

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.അനന്തരം അരാംരാജാവിന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായി; ഇന്നിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു പാളയം ഇറങ്ങേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവൻ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുമായി ആലോചന കഴിച്ചു.

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that you pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.എന്നാൽ ദൈവപുരുഷൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിനോടു: ഇന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുകൂടി കടക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിക്ക; അരാമ്യർ അവിടേക്കു വരുന്നുണ്ടു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.ദൈവപുരുഷൻ പറഞ്ഞും പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും ഇരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവു ആളയച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യമല്ല, രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യവുമല്ല തന്നെത്താൻ രക്ഷിച്ചതു.

Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will all of you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?ഇതു ഹേതുവായി അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ മനസ്സു ഏറ്റവും കലങ്ങി; അവൻ ദൃത്യന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു: നമ്മുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവിന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാരൻ ആരെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞു തരികയില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedchamber.അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, കാര്യം അങ്ങനെയല്ല; നീ ശയനഗൃഹത്തിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകൾ യിസ്രായേലിലെ പ്രവാചകനായ എലീശാ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.നിങ്ങൾ ചെന്നു അവൻ എവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കുവിൻ; ഞാൻ ആളയച്ചു അവനെ പിടിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ ദോഥാനിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവന്നു അറിവുകിട്ടി.

Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.അവൻ അവിടേക്കു ശക്തിയുള്ള സൈന്യത്തെ കുതിരകളും രഥങ്ങളുമായി അയച്ചു; അവർ രാത്രിയിൽ ചെന്നു പട്ടണം വളഞ്ഞു.

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരൻ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ഒരു സൈന്യം കുതിരകളും രഥങ്ങളുമായി പട്ടണം വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; ബാല്യക്കാരൻ അവനോടു: അയ്യോ യജമാനനേ, നാം എന്തു ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.അതിന്നു അവൻ: പേടിക്കേണ്ടാ; നമ്മോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർ അവരോടു കൂടെയുള്ളവരെക്കാൾ അധികം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray you, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.പിന്നെ എലീശാ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു: യഹോവേ, ഇവൻ കാണത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഇവന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യഹോവ ബാല്യക്കാരന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു; എലീശയുടെ ചുറ്റും അഗ്നിമയമായ കുതിരകളും രഥങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടു മല നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടു.

And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Strike this people, I pray you, with blindness. And he stroke them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.അവർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ എലീശാ യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു: ഈ ജാതിയെ അന്ധത പിടിപ്പിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എലീശയുടെ അപേക്ഷപ്രകാരം അവൻ അവരെ അന്ധത പിടിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom all of you seek. But he led them to Samaria.എലീശാ അവരോടു: ഇതല്ല വഴി; പട്ടണവും ഇതല്ല; എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ആളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവരെ ശമർയ്യയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി

And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.ശമർയ്യയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ എലീശാ: യഹോവേ, കാണത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഇവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യഹോവ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു; അവർ നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ തങ്ങൾ ശമർയ്യയുടെ നടുവിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നതുകണ്ടു.

And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I strike them? shall I strike them?യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു അവരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു എലീശയോടു: എന്റെ പിതാവേ, വെട്ടിക്കളയട്ടെ ഞാൻ ഇവരെ വെട്ടിക്കളയട്ടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he answered, You shall not strike them: would you strike those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.അതിന്നു അവൻ: വെട്ടിക്കളയരുതു; നിന്റെ വാൾകൊണ്ടും വില്ലുകൊണ്ടും പിടിച്ചവരെ നീ വെട്ടിക്കളയുമോ? ഇവർ തിന്നുകുടിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു അപ്പവും വെള്ളവും അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ അവർക്കു വലിയോരു വിരുന്നു ഒരുക്കി; അവർ തിന്നുകുടിച്ചശേഷം അവൻ അവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി. അരാമ്യപ്പടക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തേക്കു പിന്നെ വന്നില്ല.

And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.അതിന്റെശേഷം അരാംരാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് തന്റെ സൈന്യത്തെ ഒക്കെയും കൂട്ടി പുറപ്പെട്ടുചെന്നു ശമർയ്യയെ വളഞ്ഞു.

And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.അവർ ശമർയ്യയെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടെ മഹാക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായി; ഒരു കഴുതത്തലെക്കു എണ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശും കാൽകബ് പ്രാക്കാഷ്ഠത്തിന്നു അഞ്ചു വെള്ളിക്കാശും വരെ വിലകയറി.

And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.ഒരിക്കൽ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു മതിലിന്മേൽ നടക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു സ്ത്രീ അവനോടു: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

And he said, If the LORD do not help you, whence shall I help you? out of the barn floor, or out of the winepress?അതിന്നു അവൻ: യഹോവ നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ എവിടെനിന്നു തന്നു നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടു? കളപ്പുരയിൽനിന്നോ മുന്തിരിച്ചക്കിൽനിന്നോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And the king said unto her, What disturbs you? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give your son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son tomorrow.രാജാവു പിന്നെയും അവളോടു: നിന്റെ സങ്കടം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൾ: ഈ സ്ത്രീ എന്നോടു: നിന്റെ മകനെ കൊണ്ടുവാ; ഇന്നു നമുക്കു അവനെ തിന്നാം; നാളെ എന്റെ മകനെ തിന്നാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give your son, that we may eat him: and she has hid her son.അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങൾ എന്റെ മകനെ പുഴുങ്ങിത്തിന്നു; പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ഞാൻ അവളോടു: നിന്റെ മകനെ കൊണ്ടുവാ; നമുക്കു അവനെയും തിന്നാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാറെ അവൾ തന്റെ മകനെ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.സ്ത്രീയുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാജാവു വസ്ത്രം കീറി; അവൻ മതിലിന്മേൽ നടന്നു പോകയായിരുന്നു; ജനം അവനെ നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ അകമെ ദേഹം പറ്റെ രട്ടു ഉടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.ശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ എലീശയുടെ തല ഇന്നു അവന്റെ ഉടലിന്മേൽ ഇരുന്നാൽ ദൈവം എന്നോടു തക്കവണ്ണവും അധികവും ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See all of you how this son of a murderer has sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?എലീശാ തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ മൂപ്പന്മേരോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ രാജാവു ഒരാളെ തനിക്കു മുമ്പായി അയച്ചു; ദൂതൻ എലീശയുടെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തുന്നതിന്നു മുമ്പെ അവൻ മൂപ്പന്മാരോടു: എന്റെ തല എടുത്തുകളവാൻ ആ കുലപാതകപുത്രൻ ആളയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടുവോ? നോക്കുവിൻ ദൂതൻ വരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു വാതിൽക്കൽ അവനെ തടുത്തുകൊൾവിൻ; അവന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ കാലൊച്ച അവന്റെ പിമ്പിൽ കേൾക്കുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Elisha said, Hear all of you the word of the LORD; Thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.അപ്പോൾ എലീശാ: യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു കേൾപ്പിൻ: നാളെ ഈ നേരത്തു ശമർയ്യയുടെ പടിവാതിൽക്കൽ ശേക്കെലിന്നു ഒരു സെയാ കോതമ്പുമാവും ശേക്കലിന്നു രണ്ടു സെയാ യവവും വില്ക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with yours eyes, but shall not eat thereof.രാജാവിന്നു കൈത്താങ്ങൽ കൊടുക്കുന്ന അകമ്പടിനായകൻ ദൈവപുരുഷനോടു: യഹോവ ആകാശത്തിൽ കിളിവാതിലുകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയാലും ഈ കാര്യം സാധിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു അവൻ: നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു നീ അതു കാണും; എങ്കിലും നീ അതിൽ നിന്നു തിന്നുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?അന്നു കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളായ നാലാൾ പടിവാതിൽക്കൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ: നാം ഇവിടെ കിടന്നു മരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു?

If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുക എന്നുവന്നാൽ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ക്ഷാമമായിക്കകൊണ്ടു നാം അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിക്കും; ഇവിടെ പാർത്താലും മരിക്കും. അതുകൊണ്ടു വരിക നമുക്കു അരാമ്യപാളയത്തിൽ പോകാം; അവർ നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ വെച്ചാൽ നാം ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും; അവർ നമ്മെ കൊന്നാൽ നാം മരിക്കയേയുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.അങ്ങനെ അവർ അരാംപാളയത്തിൽ പോകുവാൻ സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അരാംപാളയത്തിന്റെ അറ്റത്തു വന്നപ്പോൾ അവിടെ ആരെയും കാണ്മാനില്ല.

For the LORD had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.കർത്താവു അരാമ്യസൈന്യത്തെ രഥങ്ങളുടെയും കുതിരകളുടെയും മഹാസൈന്യത്തിന്റെയും ആരവം കേൾപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ: ഇതാ, നമ്മുടെ നേരെ വരേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു ഹിത്യരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും മിസ്രയീംരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും നമുക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂലിക്കു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.അതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തുതന്നേ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഓടിപ്പോയി; കൂടാരങ്ങൾ, കുതിരകൾ, കഴുതകൾ എന്നിവയെ പാളയത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നപാടെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു ജീവരക്ഷെക്കായി ഓടിപ്പോയി.

And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.ആ കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ പാളയത്തിന്റെ അറ്റത്തു എത്തി ഒരു കൂടാരത്തിന്നകത്തു കയറി തിന്നുകുടിച്ചശേഷം അവിടെ നിന്നു വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു; മടങ്ങിവന്നു മറ്റൊരു കൂടാരത്തിന്നകത്തു കയറി അതിൽനിന്നും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഒളിച്ചു വെച്ചു.

Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.പിന്നെ അവർ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ: നാം ചെയ്യുന്നതു ശരിയല്ല; ഇന്നു സദ്വർത്തമാനദിവസമല്ലോ; നാമോ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നു; നേരം പുലരുംവരെ നാം താമസിച്ചാൽ നമുക്കു കുറ്റം വരും; ആകയാൽ വരുവിൻ; നാം ചെന്നു രാജധാനിയിൽ അറിവുകൊടുക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So they came and called unto the gate keeper of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.അങ്ങനെ അവർ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ ചെന്നു കാവൽക്കാരനെ വിളിച്ചു: ഞങ്ങൾ അരാംപാളയത്തിൽ പോയിരുന്നു; അവിടെ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും ഇല്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെയും ശബ്ദം കേൾപ്പാനുമില്ല കുതിരകളും കഴുതകളും കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നപാടെ നില്ക്കുന്നു; കൂടാരങ്ങളും അപ്പാടെ തന്നേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.രാജാവു രാത്രിയിൽ തന്നേ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: അരാമ്യർ നമ്മോടു ഇച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞുതരാം; നാം വിശന്നിരിക്കയാകുന്നു എന്നു അവർ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു: അവർ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്നു പുറത്തുവരും; അപ്പോൾ നമുക്കു അവരെ ജീവനോടെ പിടിക്കയും പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടക്കയും ചെയ്യാം എന്നുറെച്ചു അവർ പാളയം വിട്ടുപോയി വയലിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കയാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray you, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.അതിന്നു അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ: പട്ടണത്തിൽ ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള കുതിരകളിൽ അഞ്ചിനെ കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെ; നാം ആളയച്ചു നോക്കിക്കേണം; അവർ ഇവിടെ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലപുരുഷാരവും നശിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലപുരുഷാരവും എന്നപോലെ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.അങ്ങനെ അവർ രണ്ടു രഥം കുതിരയെ കെട്ടി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; രാജാവു അവരെ അരാമ്യസൈന്യത്തിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ അയച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ ചെന്നു നോക്കുവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.അവർ യോർദ്ദാൻ വരെ അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; എന്നാൽ അരാമ്യർ തത്രപ്പാടിൽ എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞ വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും മറ്റു സാധനങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടു വഴിയൊക്കെയും നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; ദൂതന്മാർ മടങ്ങിവന്നു വിവരം രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചു.

And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.അങ്ങനെ ജനം പുറപ്പെട്ടു അരാംപാളയം കൊള്ളയിട്ടു. യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം അന്നു ശേക്കെലിന്നു ഒരു സെയാ കോതമ്പുമാവും ശേക്കെലിന്നു രണ്ടു സെയാ യവവും വിറ്റു.

And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.രാജാവു തനിക്കു കൈത്താങ്ങൽ കൊടുക്കുന്ന അകമ്പടിനായകനെ വാതിൽക്കൽ വിചാരകനായി നിയമിച്ചിരുന്നു; ജനം അവനെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; രാജാവു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുപോലെ അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:നാളെ ഈ നേരത്തു ശമർയ്യയുടെ പടിവാതിൽക്കൽ ശേക്കെലിന്നു രണ്ടു സെയാ യവവും ശേക്കെലിന്നു ഒരു സെയാ കോതമ്പുമാവും വില്ക്കുമെന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഈ അകമ്പടിനായകൻ ദൈവപുരുഷനോടു:
