Matthew 3

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,ആ കാലത്തു യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ വന്നു, യെഹൂദ്യമരുഭൂമിയിൽ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു:

And saying, Repent all of you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.“മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ വാക്കാവിതു: കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കി അവന്റെ പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുവിൻ ” എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാ പ്രവാചകൻ പറഞ്ഞവൻ ഇവൻ തന്നേ.

And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.യോഹന്നാന്നു ഒട്ടക രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉടുപ്പും അരയിൽ തോൽവാറും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ആഹാരമോ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും കാട്ടുതേനും ആയിരുന്നു.

Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,അന്നു യെരൂശലേമ്യരും യെഹൂദ്യദേശക്കാരൊക്കയും യോർദ്ദാന്റെ ഇരുകരെയുമുള്ള എല്ലാ നാട്ടുകാരും പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു

And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു യോർദ്ദാൻ നദിയിൽ അവനാൽ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?തന്റെ സ്നാനത്തിന്നായി പരീശരിലും സദൂക്യരിലും പലർ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടാറെ അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: സർപ്പസന്തതികളെ, വരുവാനുള്ള കോപത്തെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞു ഓടിപ്പോകുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതു ആർ?

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യമായ ഫലം കായ്പിൻ.

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.അബ്രാഹാം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പിതാവായിട്ടു ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഉള്ളംകൊണ്ടു പറവാൻ തുനിയരുതു; ഈ കല്ലുകളിൽ നിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു മക്കളെ ഉളവാക്കുവാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നു കഴിയും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ ചുവട്ടിന്നു കോടാലി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നല്ലഫലം കായ്ക്കാത്ത വൃക്ഷം എല്ലാം വെട്ടി തീയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയുന്നു.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്നായി വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം ഏല്പിക്കുന്നതേയുള്ളു; എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവനോ എന്നെക്കാൾ ബലവാൻ ആകുന്നു; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പു ചുമപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ മതിയായവനല്ല; അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിലും തീയിലും സ്നാനം ഏല്പിക്കും.

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.വീശുമുറം അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ കളത്തെ മുറ്റും വെടിപ്പാക്കി കോതമ്പു കളപ്പുരയിൽ കൂട്ടിവെക്കയും പതിർ കെടാത്ത തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളകയും ചെയ്യും.

Then comes Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.അനന്തരം യേശു യോഹന്നാനാൽ സ്നാനം ഏല്ക്കുവാൻ ഗലീലയിൽ നിന്നു യോർദ്ദാൻ കരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of you, and come you to me?യോഹന്നാനോ അവനെ വിലക്കി: നിന്നാൽ സ്നാനം ഏല്ക്കുവാൻ എനിക്കു ആവശ്യം; പിന്നെ നീ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.യേശു അവനോടു: “ഇപ്പോൾ സമ്മതിക്ക; ഇങ്ങനെ സകലനീതിയും നിവർത്തിക്കുന്നതു നമുക്കു ഉചിതം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു”; എന്നാറെ അവൻ അവനെ സമ്മതിച്ചു.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up immediately out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:യേശു സ്നാനം ഏറ്റ ഉടനെ വെള്ളത്തിൽനിന്നു കയറി അപ്പോൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗം തുറന്നു ദൈവാത്മാവു പ്രാവെന്നപോലെ ഇറങ്ങി തന്റെ മേൽ വരുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടു;

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.ഇവൻ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രൻ; ഇവനിൽ ഞാൻ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.

Matthew 4

Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.അനന്തരം പിശാചിനാൽ പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ യേശുവിനെ ആത്മാവു മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു നടത്തി.

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered.അവൻ നാല്പതു പകലും നാല്പതു രാവും ഉപവസിച്ച ശേഷം അവന്നു വിശന്നു.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If you be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.അപ്പോൾ പരീക്ഷകൻ അടുത്തു വന്നു: നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഈ കല്ലു അപ്പമായ്തീരുവാൻ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.അതിന്നു അവൻ: “മനുഷ്യൻ അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വായിൽകൂടി വരുന്ന സകലവചനംകൊണ്ടും ജീവിക്കുന്നു”എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the devil takes him up into the holy city, and sets him on a pinnacle of the temple,പിന്നെ പിശാചു അവനെ വിശുദ്ധ നഗരത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രത്തിന്മേൽ നിറുത്തി അവനോടു:

And says unto him, If you be the Son of God, cast yourself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning you: and in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone.നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ താഴത്തോട്ടു ചാടുക; “നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു അവൻ തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരോടു കല്പിക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ കാൽ കല്ലിനോടു തട്ടാതവണ്ണം നിന്നെ കയ്യിൽ താങ്ങികൊള്ളും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.യേശു അവനോടു: “നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു എന്നും കൂടെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Again, the devil takes him up into an exceeding high mountain, and shows him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;പിന്നെ പിശാചു അവനെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്നോരു മലമേൽ കൂട്ടികൊണ്ടുപോയി ലോകത്തിലുള്ള സകല രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും അവയുടെ മഹത്വത്തെയും കാണിച്ചു:

And says unto him, All these things will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me.വീണു എന്നെ നമസ്കരിച്ചാൽ ഇതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then says Jesus unto him, Get you behind, Satan: for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.യേശു അവനോടു: “സാത്താനേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോ; 'നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവു' എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the devil left him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.അപ്പോൾ പിശാചു അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി; ദൂതന്മാർ അടുത്തുവന്നു അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;യോഹന്നാൻ തടവിൽ ആയി എന്നു കേട്ടാറെ അവൻ ഗലീലെക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി,

And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:നസറെത്ത് വിട്ടു സെബൂലൂന്റെയും നഫ്താലിയുടെയും അതിരുകളിൽ കടൽക്കരെയുള്ള കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു പാർത്തു;

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying,“സെബൂലൂൻ ദേശവും നഫ്താലിദേശവും കടൽക്കരയിലും യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുമുള്ള നാടും ജാതികളുടെ ഗലീലയും.”

The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ജനം വലിയോരു വെളിച്ചം കണ്ടു; മരണത്തിന്റെ ദേശത്തിലും നിഴലിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു പ്രകാശം ഉദിച്ചു”

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാൻ ഇടവന്നു.

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.അന്നുമുതൽ യേശു: “സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുവിൻ”എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.അവൻ ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോൻ, അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് എന്നിങ്ങനെ മീൻപിടിക്കാരായ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാർ കടലിൽ വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു:

And he says unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.“എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിൻ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they immediately left their nets, and followed him.ഉടനെ അവർ വല വിട്ടേച്ചു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.അവിടെ നിന്നു മുമ്പോട്ടു പോയാറെ സെബെദിയുടെ മകൻ യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ യോഹന്നാനും എന്ന വേറെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാർ പടകിൽ ഇരുന്നു അപ്പനായ സെബദിയുമായി വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു.

And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.അവരും ഉടനെ പടകിനെയും അപ്പനെയും വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.പിന്നെ യേശു ഗലീലയിൽ ഒക്കെയും ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ഉപദേശിക്കയും രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ജനത്തിലുള്ള സകലദീനത്തെയും വ്യാധിയെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി സുറിയയിൽ ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു. നാനാവ്യാധികളാലും ബാധകളാലും വലഞ്ഞവർ, ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തർ, ചന്ദ്രരോഗികൾ, പക്ഷവാതക്കാർ ഇങ്ങനെ സകലവിധ ദീനക്കാരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു വന്നു.

And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.അവൻ അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി; ഗലീല, ദെക്കപ്പൊലി, യെരൂശലേം, യെഹൂദ്യ, യോർദ്ദന്നക്കരെ എന്നീ ഇടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു.

Matthew 5

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ മലമേൽ കയറി. അവൻ ഇരുന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,അവൻ തിരുവായ്മൊഴിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.“ആത്മാവിൽ ദരിദ്രരായവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവർക്കുള്ളതു.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു ആശ്വാസം ലഭിക്കും.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കും.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.നീതിക്കു വിശന്നു ദാഹിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു തൃപ്തിവരും.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.കരുണയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.ഹൃദയ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തെ കാണും.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.നീതിനിമിത്തം ഉപദ്രവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവർക്കുള്ളതു.

Blessed are all of you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.എന്റെ നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങളെ പഴിക്കയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ തിന്മയും കളവായി പറകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഫലം വലുതാകകൊണ്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും അവർ അങ്ങനെതന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

All of you are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉപ്പാകുന്നു; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെപോയാൽ അതിന്നു എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു രസം വരുത്താം? പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു മനുഷ്യർ ചവിട്ടുവാൻ അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിന്നും പിന്നെ കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല.

All of you are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.നിങ്ങൾ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു; മലമേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പട്ടണം മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ല.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house.വിളക്കു കത്തിച്ചു പറയിൻകീഴല്ല തണ്ടിന്മേലത്രെ വെക്കുന്നതു; അപ്പോൾ അതു വീട്ടിലുള്ള എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളുടെ നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടു, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ വെളിച്ചം അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ പ്രകാശിക്കട്ടെ.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.ഞാൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയൊ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയോ നീക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കരുതു; നീക്കുവാനല്ല നിവർത്തിപ്പാനത്രെ ഞാൻ വന്നതു.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.സത്യമായിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുംവരെ സകലവും നിവൃത്തിയാകുവോളം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു വള്ളി എങ്കിലും പുള്ളി എങ്കിലും ഒരുനാളും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.ആകയാൽ ഈ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ കല്പനകളിൽ ഒന്നു അഴിക്കയും മനുഷ്യരെ അങ്ങനെ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അവയെ ആചരിക്കയും പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നോ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ വലിയവൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, all of you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതി ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും പരീശന്മാരുടെയും നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

All of you have heard that it was said of them of old time, You shall not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും ആരെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്താൽ ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും എന്നും പൂർവ്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, You fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: സഹോദരനോടു കോപിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും: സഹോദരനോടു നിസ്സാര എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ ന്യായാധിപസഭയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കേണ്ടി വരും; മൂഢാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ അഗ്നിനരകത്തിനു യോഗ്യനാകും.

Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has ought against you;ആകയാൽ നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ സഹോദരന്നു നിന്റെ നേരെ വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു ഓർമ്മവന്നാൽ

Leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു അവിടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചേച്ചു, ഒന്നാമതു ചെന്നു സഹോദരനോടു നിരന്നുകൊൾക; പിന്നെ വന്നു നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക.

Agree with yours adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.നിന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടുകൂടെ വഴിയിൽ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ തന്നേ വേഗത്തിൽ അവനോടു ഇണങ്ങിക്കൊൾക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ പ്രതിയോഗി നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന്നും ന്യായാധിപൻ ചേവകന്നും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു നീ തടവിൽ ആയ്പോകും.

Verily I say unto you, You shall by no means come out thence, till you have paid the uttermost farthing.ഒടുവിലത്തെ കാശുപോലും കൊടുത്തു തീരുവോളം നീ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്തു വരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

All of you have heard that it was said by them of old time, You shall not commit adultery:വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: സ്ത്രീയെ മോഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവളെ നോക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു അവളോടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തുപോയി.

And if your right eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.എന്നാൽ വലങ്കണ്ണു നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനെ ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തിൽ വീഴുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ നിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

And if your right hand offend you, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.വലങ്കൈ നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനെ വെട്ടി എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തിൽ പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

It has been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:ആരെങ്കിലും ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാൽ അവൾക്കു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: പരസംഗം ഹേതുവായിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം അവളെക്കൊണ്ടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ ആരെങ്കിലും വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചാൽ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Again, all of you have heard that it has been said by them of old time, You shall not renounce swearing yourself, but shall perform unto the Lord yours oaths:കള്ളസത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും സത്യം ചെയ്തതു കർത്താവിന്നു നിവർത്തിക്കേണം എന്നും പൂർവ്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: അശേഷം സത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം;

Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.ഭൂമിയെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു അവന്റെ പാദപീഠം; യെരൂശലേമിനെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു മഹാരാജാവിന്റെ നഗരം

Neither shall you swear by your head, because you can not make one hair white or black.നിന്റെ തലയെക്കൊണ്ടും സത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു; ഒരു രോമവും വെളുപ്പിപ്പാനോ കറുപ്പിപ്പാനോ നിനക്കു കഴികയില്ലല്ലോ.

But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil.നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു ഉവ്വു, ഉവ്വു എന്നും ഇല്ല, ഇല്ല എന്നും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതിൽ അധികമായതു ദുഷ്ടനിൽനിന്നു വരുന്നു.

All of you have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:കണ്ണിനു പകരം കണ്ണും പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

³⁹

But I say unto you, That all of you resist not evil: but whosoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: ദുഷ്ടനോടു എതിർക്കരുതു; നിന്നെ വലത്തെ ചെകിട്ടത്തു അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു മറ്റേതും തിരിച്ചുകാണിക്ക.

And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.നിന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിച്ചു നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനു നിന്റെ പുതപ്പും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്ക.

And whosoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two.ഒരുത്തൻ നിന്നെ ഒരു നാഴിക വഴി പോകുവാൻ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചാൽ രണ്ടു അവനോടുകൂടെ പോക.

Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you turn not you away.നിന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവനു കൊടുക്ക; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയരുതു.

All of you have heard that it has been said, You shall love your neighbour, and hate yours enemy.കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നും ശത്രുവിനെ പകെക്ക എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പിൻ;

That all of you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്നു പുത്രന്മാരായി തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവൻ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെമേലും നല്ലവരുടെമേലും തന്റെ സൂര്യനെ ഉദിപ്പിക്കയും നീതിമാന്മാരുടെമേലും നീതികെട്ടവരുടെ മേലും മഴപെയ്യിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

For if all of you love them which love you, what reward have all of you? do not even the publicans the same?നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു പ്രതിഫലം? ചുങ്കക്കാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

And if all of you salute your brethren only, what do all of you more than others? do not even the publicans so?സഹോദരന്മാരെ മാത്രം വന്ദനം ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു വിശേഷം ചെയ്യുന്നു? ജാതികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

Be all of you therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വർഗ്ഗീയപിതാവു സൽഗുണപൂർണ്ണൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും സൽഗുണപൂർണ്ണരാകുവിൻ.”
