Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.“ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു, ആട്ടിൻ തൊഴിത്തിൽ വാതിലൂടെ കടക്കാതെ വേറെ വഴിയായി കയറുന്നവൻ കള്ളനും കവർച്ചക്കാരനും ആകുന്നു.

But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.വാതിലൂടെ കടക്കുന്നവനോ ആടുകളുടെ ഇടയൻ ആകുന്നു.

To him the gate keeper opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.അവന്നു വാതിൽ കാവൽക്കാരൻ തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കുന്നു; ആടുകൾ അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ ആടുകളെ അവൻ പേർ ചൊല്ലി വിളിച്ചു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.

And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.തനിക്കുള്ളവയെ ഒക്കെയും പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോയശേഷം അവൻ അവെക്കു മുമ്പായി നടക്കുന്നു; ആടുകൾ അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം അറിഞ്ഞു അവനെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നു.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.അന്യന്മാരുടെ ശബ്ദം അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവ അന്യനെ അനുഗമിക്കാതെ വിട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോകും.

This parable spoke Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spoke unto them.ഈ സാദൃശ്യം യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു അവർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല.

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.യേശു പിന്നെയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ആടുകളുടെ വാതിൽ ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു.

All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ വന്നവർ ഒക്കെയും കള്ളന്മാരും കവർച്ചക്കാരും അത്രേ; ആടുകളോ അവരുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടില്ല.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.ഞാൻ വാതിൽ ആകുന്നു; എന്നിലൂടെ കടക്കുന്നവൻ രക്ഷപ്പെടും; അവൻ അകത്തു വരികയും പുറത്തുപോകയും മേച്ചൽ കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.

The thief comes not, but in order to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.മോഷ്ടിപ്പാനും അറുപ്പാനും മുടിപ്പാനും അല്ലാതെ കള്ളൻ വരുന്നില്ല; അവർക്കു ജീവൻ ഉണ്ടാകുവാനും സമൃദ്ധിയായിട്ടു ഉണ്ടാകുവാനും അത്രേ ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.ഞാൻ നല്ല ഇടയൻ ആകുന്നു; നല്ല ഇടയൻ ആടുകൾക്കു വേണ്ടി തന്റെ ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

But he that is a worker, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and left the sheep, and flees: and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep.ഇടയനും ആടുകളുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥനുമല്ലാത്ത കൂലിക്കാരൻ ചെന്നായ് വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു ആടുകളെ വിട്ടു ഓടിക്കളയുന്നു; ചെന്നായ് അവയെ പിടിക്കയും ചിന്നിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

The worker flees, because he is a worker, and cares not for the sheep.അവൻ കൂലിക്കാരനും ആടുകളെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരമില്ലാത്തവനുമല്ലോ.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.ഞാൻ നല്ല ഇടയൻ; പിതാവു എന്നെ അറികയും ഞാൻ പിതാവിനെ അറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാൻ എനിക്കുള്ളവയെ അറികയും എനിക്കുള്ളവ എന്നെ അറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.ആടുകൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.ഈ തൊഴുത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടാത്ത വേറെ ആടുകൾ എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടു; അവയെയും ഞാൻ നടത്തേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; അവ എന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കും; ഒരാട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടവും ഒരിടയനും ആകും.

Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.എന്റെ ജീവനെ വീണ്ടും പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അതിനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു പിതാവു എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.ആരും അതിനെ എന്നോടു എടുത്തുകളയുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ തന്നേ അതിനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നു; അതിനെ കൊടുപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു അധികാരം ഉണ്ടു; വീണ്ടും പ്രാപിപ്പാനും അധികാരം ഉണ്ടു; ഈ കല്പന എന്റെ പിതാവിങ്കൽ നിന്നു എനിക്കു ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.ഈ വചനം നിമിത്തം യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ പിന്നെയും ഭിന്നത ഉണ്ടായി.

And many of them said, He has a devil, and is mad; why hear all of you him?അവരിൽ പലരും; അവന്നു ഭൂതം ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ ഭ്രാന്തൻ ആകുന്നു; അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Others said, These are not the words of him that has a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?മറ്റു ചിലർ: ഇതു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തന്റെ വാക്കല്ല; ഭൂതത്തിന്നു കുരുടന്മാരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറപ്പാൻ കഴിയുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.അനന്തരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠോത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു; അന്നു ശീതകാലമായിരുന്നു.

And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.യേശു ദൈവലായത്തിൽ ശലോമോന്റെ മണ്ഡപത്തിൽ നടന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you be the Christ, tell us plainly.യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ വളഞ്ഞു: നീ എത്രത്തോളം ഞങ്ങളെ ആശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു? നീ ക്രിസ്തു എങ്കിൽ സ്പഷ്ടമായി പറക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus answered them, I told you, and all of you believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം ആകുന്നു.

But all of you believe not, because all of you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.നിങ്ങളോ എന്റെ ആടുകളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവരല്ലായ്കയാൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്റെ ആടുകൾ എന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുന്നു;

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:ഞാൻ അവയെ അറികയും അവ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

²⁸

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.ഞാൻ അവെക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ കൊടുക്കുന്നു; അവ ഒരുനാളും നശിച്ചു പോകയില്ല; ആരും അവയെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു പിടിച്ചുപറിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.അവയെ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പിതാവു എല്ലാവരിലും വലിയവൻ; പിതാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു പിടിച്ചുപറിപ്പാൻ ആർക്കും കഴികയില്ല

I and my Father are one.ഞാനും പിതാവും ഒന്നാകുന്നു.”

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ എറിവാൻ പിന്നെയും കല്ലു എടുത്തു.

Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do all of you stone me?യേശു അവരോടു: “പിതാവിന്റെ കല്പനയാൽ ഞാൻ പല നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികൾ നിങ്ങളെ കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവയിൽ ഏതു പ്രവൃത്തിനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കല്ലെറിയുന്നു?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, make yourself God.യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനോടു: നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തി നിമിത്തമല്ല, ദൈവദൂഷണം നിമിത്തവും നീ മനുഷ്യനായിരിക്കെ നിന്നെത്തന്നേ ദൈവം ആക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമത്രേ ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെ കല്ലെറിയുന്നതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, All of you are gods?യേശു അവരോടു: “നിങ്ങൾ ദേവന്മാർ ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുള്ളവരെ ദേവന്മാർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ-തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു നീക്കം വന്നുകൂടായല്ലോ-

Say all of you of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of God?ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു: നീ ദൈവദൂഷണം പറയുന്നു എന്നു പിതാവു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു ലോകത്തിൽ അയച്ചവനോടു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നുവോ?

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടാ;

But if I do, though all of you believe not me, believe the works: that all of you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിലോ എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്നാലും പിതാവു എന്നിലും ഞാൻ പിതാവിലും എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഗ്രഹിച്ചു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു പ്രവൃത്തിയെ വിശ്വസിപ്പിൻ”.

Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,അവർ അവനെ പിന്നെയും പിടിപ്പാൻ നോക്കി; അവനോ അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി.

And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.അവൻ യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ യോഹന്നാൻ ആദിയിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു പിന്നെയും ചെന്നു അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spoke of this man were true.പലരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: യോഹന്നാൻ അടയാളം ഒന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല; എന്നാൽ ഇവനെക്കുറിച്ചു യോഹന്നാൻ പറഞ്ഞതു ഒക്കെയും സത്യമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And many believed on him there.അവിടെ പലരും അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

John 11

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.മറിയയുടെയും അവളുടെ സഹോദരി മാർത്തയുടെയും ഗ്രാമമായ ബേഥാന്യയിലെ ലാസർ എന്ന ഒരുത്തൻ ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നു.

(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)ഈ മറിയ ആയിരുന്നു കർത്താവിനെ പരിമള തൈലം പൂശി തന്റെ തലമുടികൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കാൽ തുടച്ചതു. അവളുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാസർ ആയിരുന്നു ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നതു.

Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom you love is sick.ആ സഹോദരിമാർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: കർത്താവേ, നിനക്കു പ്രിയനായവൻ ദീനമായ്ക്കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.യേശു അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു: ഈ ദീനം മരണത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല, ദൈവപുത്രൻ മഹത്വപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്നായിട്ടത്രേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.യേശു മാർത്തയെയും അവളുടെ സഹോദരിയെയും ലാസരിനെയും സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.എന്നിട്ടും അവൻ ദീനമായ്ക്കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടാറെ താൻ അന്നു ഇരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു രണ്ടു ദിവസം പാർത്തു.

Then after that says he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: നാം വീണ്ടും യെഹൂദ്യയിലേക്കു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone you; and go you thither again?ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു: റബ്ബീ, യെഹൂദന്മാർ ഇപ്പോൾതന്നേ നിന്നെ കല്ലെറിവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചുവല്ലോ; നീ പിന്നെയും അവിടെ പോകുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the light of this world.അതിന്നു യേശു: പകലിന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു മണിനേരം ഇല്ലയോ? പകൽ സമയത്തു നടക്കുന്നവൻ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം കാണുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഇടറുന്നില്ല.

But if a man walk in the night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him.രാത്രിയിൽ നടക്കുന്നവനോ അവന്നു വെളിച്ചം ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഇടറുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

These things said he: and after that he says unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ: നമ്മുടെ സ്നേഹിതനായ ലാസർ നിദ്രകൊള്ളുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ അവനെ ഉണർത്തുവാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, അവൻ നിദ്രകൊള്ളുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Nevertheless Jesus spoke of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.യേശുവോ അവന്റെ മരണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ആയിരുന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു; ഉറക്കം എന്ന നിദ്രയെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവർക്കു തോന്നിപ്പോയി.

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.അപ്പോൾ യേശു സ്പഷ്ടമായി അവരോടു: ലാസർ മരിച്ചുപോയി;

And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent all of you may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.ഞാൻ അവിടെ ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ വിചാരിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിപ്പാൻ ഇടയാകുമല്ലോ; എന്നാൽ നാം അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellow disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.ദിദിമൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള തോമസ് സഹശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: അവനോടു കൂടെ മരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാമും പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.യേശു അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവനെ കല്ലറയിൽ വെച്ചിട്ടു നാലുദിവസമായി എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു.

Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:ബേഥാന്യ യെരൂശലേമിന്നരികെ ഏകദേശം രണ്ടു നാഴിക ദൂരത്തായിരുന്നു.

And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.മാർത്തയെയും മറിയയെയും സഹോദരനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പല യെഹൂദന്മാരും അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരുന്നു.

Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.യേശു വരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു മാർത്ത അവനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ചെന്നു; മറിയയോ വീട്ടിൽ ഇരുന്നു.

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if you had been here, my brother had not died.മാർത്ത യേശുവിനോടു: കർത്താവേ, നീ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ എന്റെ സഹോദരൻ മരിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever you will ask of God, God will give it you.ഇപ്പോഴും നീ ദൈവത്തോടു എന്തു അപേക്ഷിച്ചാലും ദൈവം നിനക്കു തരും എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto her, Your brother shall rise again.യേശു അവളോടു: നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁴

Martha says unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.മാർത്ത അവനോടു: ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിലെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിൽ അവൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:യേശു അവളോടു: ഞാൻ തന്നേ പുനരുത്ഥാനവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു; എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ മരിച്ചാലും ജീവിക്കും.

²⁶

And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believe you this?ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ ആരും ഒരു നാളും മരിക്കയില്ല; ഇതു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master has come, and calls for you.പോയി തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ മറിയയെ സ്വകാര്യമായി വിളിച്ചു: ഗുരു വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.യേശു അതുവരെ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ കടക്കാതെ മാർത്ത അവനെ എതിരേറ്റ സ്ഥലത്തു തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു.

The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goes unto the grave to weep there.വീട്ടിൽ അവളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു അവളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാർ, മറിയ വേഗം എഴുന്നേറ്റു പോകുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവൾ കല്ലറെക്കൽ കരവാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു പിൻചെന്നു.

Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if you had been here, my brother had not died.യേശു ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തു മറിയ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ വീണു: കർത്താവേ, നീ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ എന്റെ സഹോദരൻ മരിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.അവൾ കരയുന്നതും അവളോടുകൂടെ വന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാർ കരയുന്നതും യേശു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഉള്ളം നൊന്തു കലങ്ങി:

And said, Where have all of you laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.അവനെ വെച്ചതു എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. കർത്താവേ, വന്നു കാൺക എന്നു അവർ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus wept.യേശു കണ്ണുനീർ വാർത്തു.

Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ: കണ്ടോ അവനോടു എത്ര പ്രിയം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?ചിലരോ: കുരുടന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്ന ഇവന്നു ഇവനെയും മരിക്കാതാക്കുവാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus therefore again groaning in himself comes to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.യേശു പിന്നെയും ഉള്ളംനൊന്തു കല്ലറെക്കൽ എത്തി; അതു ഒരു ഗുഹ ആയിരുന്നു; ഒരു കല്ലും അതിന്മേൽ വെച്ചിരുന്നു.

Jesus said, Take all of you away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, says unto him, Lord, by this time he stinks: for he has been dead four days.കല്ലു നീക്കുവിൻ എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു മരിച്ചവന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ മാർത്ത: കർത്താവേ, നാറ്റം വെച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; നാലുദിവസമായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto her, Said I not unto you, that, if you would believe, you should see the glory of God?യേശു അവളോടു: വിശ്വസിച്ചാൽ നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വം കാണും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me.അവർ കല്ലു നീക്കി. യേശു മേലോട്ടു നോക്കി: പിതാവേ, നീ എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടതിനാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു.

And I knew that you hear me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that you have sent me.നീ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേൾക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു ചുറ്റും നില്ക്കുന്ന പുരുഷാരം വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ: ലാസരേ, പുറത്തുവരിക എന്നു ഉറക്കെ വിളിച്ചു.

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a cloth. Jesus says unto them, Loose him, and let him go.മരിച്ചവൻ പുറത്തുവന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലും കയ്യും ശീലകൊണ്ടു കെട്ടിയും മുഖം റൂമാൽകൊണ്ടു മൂടിയുമിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ കെട്ടു അഴിപ്പിൻ; അവൻ പോകട്ടെ എന്നു യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.മറിയയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരിൽ പലരും അവൻ ചെയ്തതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.എന്നാൽ ചിലർ പരീശന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി യേശു ചെയ്തതു അവരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man does many miracles.മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും സംഘം കൂടി: നാം എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ വളരെ അടയാളങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.അവനെ ഇങ്ങനെ വിട്ടേച്ചാൽ എല്ലാവരും അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കും; റോമക്കാരും വന്നു നമ്മുടെ സ്ഥലത്തെയും ജനത്തെയും എടുത്തുകളയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, All of you know nothing at all,അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ, ആ സംവത്സരത്തെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ കയ്യഫാവു തന്നേ, അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല;

Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.ജനം മുഴുവനും നശിച്ചുപോകാതവണ്ണം ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ജാതിക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു എന്നു ഓർക്കുന്നതുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And this spoke he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;അവൻ ഇതു സ്വയമായി പറഞ്ഞതല്ല, താൻ ആ സംവത്സരത്തെ മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ ആകയാൽ ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി യേശു മരിപ്പാൻ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പ്രവചിച്ചതത്രേ.

And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി മാത്രമല്ല ചിതറിയിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവമക്കളെ ഒന്നായിട്ടു ചേർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നേ.

Then from that day forth they took counsel together in order to put him to death.അന്നു മുതൽ അവർ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ആലോചിച്ചു.

Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.അതുകൊണ്ടു യേശു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ പിന്നെ പരസ്യമായി നടക്കാതെ അവിടം വിട്ടു മരുഭൂമിക്കരികെ എഫ്രയീം എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു വാങ്ങി ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പെസഹ അടുത്തിരിക്കയാൽ പലരും തങ്ങൾക്കു ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തുവാൻ പെസഹെക്കു മുമ്പെ നാട്ടിൽ നിന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോയി.

Then sought they for Jesus, and spoke among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think all of you, that he will not come to the feast?അവർ യേശുവിനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു: എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? അവൻ പെരുനാൾക്കു വരികയില്ലയോ എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should show it, that they might take him.എന്നാൽ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും അവനെ പിടിക്കേണം എന്നു വെച്ചു അവൻ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഇടം ആരെങ്കിലും അറിഞ്ഞാൽ അറിവു തരേണമെന്നു കല്പന കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു.

John 12

Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.യേശു മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർപ്പിച്ച ലാസർ പാർത്ത ബേഥാന്യയിലേക്കു യേശു പെസഹെക്കു ആറുദിവസം മുമ്പെ വന്നു.

There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.അവിടെ അവർ അവന്നു ഒരു അത്താഴം ഒരുക്കി; മാർത്ത ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു, ലാസരോ അവനോടുകൂടെ പന്തിയിൽ ഇരുന്നവരിൽ ഒരുവൻ ആയിരുന്നു.

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.അപ്പോൾ മറിയ വിലയേറിയ സ്വച്ഛജടാമാംസിതൈലം ഒരു റാത്തൽ എടുത്തു യേശുവിന്റെ കാലിൽ പൂശി തന്റെ തലമുടികൊണ്ടു കാൽ തുവർത്തി; തൈലത്തിന്റെ സൌരഭ്യം കൊണ്ടു വീടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

Then says one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനായി അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാനുള്ള യൂദാ ഈസ്കര്യോത്താവു:

Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?ഈ തൈലം മുന്നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നു വിറ്റു ദിരിദ്രന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.ഇതു ദരിദ്രന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടല്ല, അവൻ കള്ളൻ ആകകൊണ്ടും പണസ്സഞ്ചി തന്റെ പക്കൽ ആകയാൽ അതിൽ ഇട്ടതു എടുത്തുവന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അത്രേ പറഞ്ഞതു.

Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying has she kept this.യേശുവോ: അവളെ വിടുക; എന്റെ ശവസംസ്കാരദിവസത്തിന്നായി അവൾ ഇതു സൂക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ.

For the poor always all of you have with you; but me all of you have not always.ദരിദ്രന്മാർ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഞാൻ എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഇല്ലതാനും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.അവൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം യേശുവിന്റെ നിമിത്തം മാത്രമല്ല, അവൻ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർപ്പിച്ച ലാസരെ കാണ്മാനായിട്ടുംകൂടെ വന്നു.

But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;അവൻ ഹേതുവായി അനേകം യെഹൂദന്മാർ ചെന്നു

Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.യേശുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കയാൽ ലാസരെയും കൊല്ലേണം എന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാർ ആലോചിച്ചു.

On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,പിറ്റേന്നു പെരുന്നാൾക്കു വന്നോരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു

Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that comes in the name of the Lord.ഈത്തപ്പനയുടെ കുരുത്തോല എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ചെന്നു: ഹോശന്നാ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായി കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നു ആർത്തു.

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,യേശു ഒരു ചെറിയ കഴുതയെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അതിന്മേൽ കയറി.

Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, your King comes, sitting on an ass's colt.“സീയോൻ പുത്രി, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഇതാ നിന്റെ രാജാവു കഴുതക്കുട്ടിപ്പുറത്തു കയറിവരുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.ഇതു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ആദിയിൽ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; യേശുവിന്നു തേജസ്കരണം വന്നശേഷം അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും തങ്ങൾ അവന്നു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു എന്നും അവർക്കു ഓർമ്മ വന്നു.

The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.അവൻ ലാസരെ കല്ലറയിൽ നിന്നു വിളിച്ചു മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പുരുഷാരം സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു.

For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.അവൻ ഈ അടയാളം ചെയ്തപ്രകാരം പുരുഷാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു.

The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive all of you how all of you prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.ആകയാൽ പരീശന്മാർ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ: നമുക്കു ഒന്നും സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; ലോകം അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ആയിപ്പോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:പെരുനാളിൽ നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ വന്നവരിൽ ചില യവനന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.ഇവർ ഗലീലയിലെ ബേത്ത്സയിദക്കാരനായ ഫിലിപ്പൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: യജമാനനേ, ഞങ്ങൾക്കു യേശുവിനെ കാണ്മാൻ താല്പര്യമുണ്ടു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

Philip comes and tells Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ചെന്നു അന്ത്രെയാസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അന്ത്രെയാസും ഫിലിപ്പൊസും കൂടെ ചെന്നു യേശുവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour has come, that the Son of man should be glorified.യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ തേജസ്കരിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള നാഴിക വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it die, it brings forth much fruit.ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: കോതമ്പുമണി നിലത്തു വീണു ചാകുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ അതു തനിയേ ഇരിക്കും; ചത്തു എങ്കിലോ വളരെ വിളവുണ്ടാകും.

²⁵

He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.തന്റെ ജീവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവൻ അതിനെ കളയും; ഇഹലോകത്തിൽ തന്റെ ജീവനെ പകെക്കുന്നവൻ അതിനെ നിത്യജീവന്നായി സൂക്ഷിക്കും.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തു എന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരനും ഇരിക്കും; എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യുന്നവനെ പിതാവു മാനിക്കും.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.ഇപ്പോൾ എന്റെ ഉള്ളം കലങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? പിതാവേ, ഈ നാഴികയിൽനിന്നു എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; എങ്കിലും ഇതു നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ ഈ നാഴികയിലേക്കു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

Father, glorify your name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണമേ. അപ്പോൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു; ഞാൻ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനിയും മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും എന്നൊരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായി:

The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spoke to him.അതുകേട്ടിട്ടു അരികെ നില്ക്കുന്ന പുരുഷാരം: ഇടി ഉണ്ടായി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; മറ്റു ചിലർ ഒരു ദൈവദൂതൻ അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.അതിന്നു യേശു: ഈ ശബ്ദം എന്റെ നിമിത്തമല്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം അത്രേ ഉണ്ടായതു.

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.ഇപ്പോൾ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവിധി ആകുന്നു; ഇപ്പോൾ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുവിനെ പുറത്തു തള്ളിക്കളയും.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.ഞാനോ ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു ഉയർത്തപ്പെട്ടാൽ എല്ലാവരെയും എങ്കലേക്കു ആകർഷിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

This he said, signifying what death he should die.ഇതു താൻ മരിപ്പാനുള്ള മരണവിധം സൂചിപ്പിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതത്രേ.

The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abides for ever: and how says you, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?പുരുഷാരം അവനോടു: ക്രിസ്തു എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കും എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ വായിച്ചുകേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ഉയർത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതെന്നു നീ പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ഈ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while all of you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not where he goes.അതിന്നു യേശു അവരോടു: ഇനി കുറെകാലം മാത്രം വെളിച്ചം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഇരിക്കും; ഇരുൾ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വെളിച്ചം ഉള്ളേടത്തോളം നടന്നുകൊൾവിൻ. ഇരുളിൽ നടക്കുന്നവൻ താൻ എവിടെ പോകുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

While all of you have light, believe in the light, that all of you may be the children of light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.നിങ്ങൾ വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചം ഉള്ളടത്തോളം വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:ഇതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടു യേശു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി അവരെ വിട്ടു മറഞ്ഞു. അവർ കാൺകെ അവൻ ഇത്ര വളരെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ ചെയ്തിട്ടും അവർ അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who has believed our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?“കർത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങൾ കേൾപ്പിച്ചതു ആർ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു? കർത്താവിന്റെ ഭുജം ആർക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു?” എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ പറഞ്ഞ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാവാൻ ഇടവന്നു.

Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again,അവർക്കു വിശ്വസിപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിന്റെ കാരണം യെശയ്യാവു വേറെ ഒരേടത്തു പറയുന്നതു:

He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.അവർ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുകയോ ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു ഗ്രഹിക്കയോ മനം തിരികയോ താൻ അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ കണ്ണു അവൻ കുരുടാക്കി ഹൃദയം തടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”

These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.യെശയ്യാവു അവന്റെ തേജസ്സു കണ്ടു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഇതു പറഞ്ഞതു.

Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:എന്നിട്ടും പ്രമാണികളിൽ തന്നേയും അനേകർ അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; പള്ളിഭ്രഷ്ടർ ആകാതിരിപ്പാൻ പരീശന്മാർ നിമിത്തം ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞില്ലതാനും.

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.അവർ ദൈവത്താലുള്ള മാനത്തെക്കാൾ മനുഷ്യരാലുള്ള മാനത്തെ അധികം സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me.യേശു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ എന്നിലല്ല എന്നെ അയച്ചവനിൽ തന്നേ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

And he that sees me sees him that sent me.എന്നെ കാണുന്നവൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കാണുന്നു.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness.എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ ആരും ഇരുളിൽ വസിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ വെളിച്ചമായി ലോകത്തിൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു പ്രമാണിക്കാത്തവനെ ഞാൻ വിധിക്കുന്നില്ല; ലോകത്തെ വിധിപ്പാനല്ല, ലോകത്തെ രക്ഷിപ്പാനത്രേ ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.എന്റെ വചനം കൈക്കൊള്ളാതെ എന്നെ തള്ളിക്കളയുന്നവനെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നവൻ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാൻ സംസാരിച്ച വചനം തന്നേ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ അവനെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കും.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.ഞാൻ സ്വയമായി സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവു തന്നേ ഞാൻ ഇന്നതു പറയേണം എന്നും ഇന്നതു സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നും കല്പന തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.അവന്റെ കല്പന നിത്യജീവൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു പിതാവു എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.
