Deuteronomy 16

Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD your God: for in the month of Abib the LORD your God brought you forth out of Egypt by night.ആബീബ് മാസം ആചരിച്ചു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു പെസഹ കൊണ്ടാടേണം; ആബീബ് മാസത്തിലല്ലോ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ രാത്രിയിൽ നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു.

You shall therefore sacrifice the passover unto the LORD your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there.യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു പെസഹയാഗമായി ആടുകളെയും മാടുകളെയും അറുക്കേണം.

You shall eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shall you eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for you came forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that you may remember the day when you came forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട ദിവസത്തെ നിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ഒക്കെയും ഓർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിനോടുകൂടെ പുളിച്ച അപ്പം തിന്നരുതു; നീ കഷ്ടതയുടെ ആഹാരമായ പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം ഏഴു ദിവസം തിന്നേണം; തത്രപ്പാടോടുകൂടിയല്ലോ നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതു.

And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you in all your coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which you sacrificed the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.ഏഴു ദിവസം നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെങ്ങും പുളിച്ച അപ്പം കാണരുതു; ആദ്യ ദിവസം വൈകുന്നേരം അറുത്ത മാംസത്തിൽ ഒട്ടും രാവിലേക്കു ശേഷിക്കരുതു.

You may not sacrifice the passover within any of your gates, which the LORD your God gives you:നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽവെച്ചു പെസഹയെ അറുത്തുകൂടാ.

But at the place which the LORD your God shall choose to place his name in, there you shall sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Egypt.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു മാത്രം, സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു, നീ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട നേരത്തു തന്നേ, സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോൾ പെസഹയെ അറുക്കേണം.

And you shall roast and eat it in the place which the LORD your God shall choose: and you shall turn in the morning, and go unto your tents.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു അതിനെ ചുട്ടുതിന്നേണം; രാവിലെ നിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം.

Six days you shall eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD your God: you shall do no work therein.ആറു ദിവസം പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം തിന്നേണം; ഏഴാംദിവസം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു സഭായോഗം കൂടേണം; അന്നു വേലയൊന്നും ചെയ്യരുതു.

Seven weeks shall you number unto you: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as you begin to put the sickle to the corn.പിന്നെ ഏഴു ആഴ്ചവട്ടം എണ്ണേണം; വിളയിൽ അരിവാൾ ഇടുവാൻ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതു മുതൽ ഏഴു ആഴ്ചവട്ടം എണ്ണേണം.

And you shall keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of yours hand, which you shall give unto the LORD your God, according as the LORD your God has blessed you:എന്നിട്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു വാരോത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചതിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ സ്വമേധാദാനങ്ങൾ അവന്നു അർപ്പിക്കേണം.

And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD your God has chosen to place his name there.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു നീയും നിന്റെ പുത്രനും പുത്രിയും നിന്റെ ദാസനും ദാസിയും നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള ലേവ്യനും നിന്റെ ഇടയിലുള്ള പരദേശിയും അനാഥനും വിധവയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കേണം.

And you shall remember that you were a bondman in Egypt: and you shall observe and do these statutes.നീ മിസ്രയീമിൽ അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഓർത്തു ഈ ചട്ടങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്കേണം.

You shall observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that you have gathered in your corn and your wine:കളത്തിലെ ധാന്യവും ചക്കിലെ വീഞ്ഞും ശേഖരിച്ചുകഴിയുമ്പോൾ നീ ഏഴു ദിവസം കൂടാരപ്പെരുനാൾ ആചരിക്കേണം.

And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within your gates.ഈ പെരുനാളിൽ നീയും നിന്റെ മകനും മകളും നിന്റെ ദാസനും ദാസിയും നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള ലേവ്യനും പരദേശിയും അനാഥനും വിധവയും സന്തോഷിക്കേണം.

Seven days shall you keep a solemn feast unto the LORD your God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD your God shall bless you in all yours increase, and in all the works of yours hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു ഏഴു ദിവസം പെരുനാൾ ആചരിക്കേണം; നിന്റെ അനുഭവത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ വേണ്ടുംവണ്ണം സന്തോഷിക്കേണം.

¹⁶

Three times in a year shall all your males appear before the LORD your God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്റെ ആണുങ്ങളൊക്കെയും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പെരുനാളിലും വാരോത്സവത്തിലും കൂടാരപ്പെരുനാളിലും ഇങ്ങനെ സംവത്സരത്തിൽ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വരേണം; എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വെറുങ്കയ്യായി വരരുതു.

Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which he has given you.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള അനുഗ്രഹത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ പ്രാപ്തിപോലെ കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

Judges and officers shall you make you in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, throughout your tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ഗോത്രംതോറും ന്യായാധിപതിമാരെയും പ്രമാണികളെയും നിയമിക്കേണം; അവർ ജനത്തിന്നു നീതിയോടെ ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യേണം.

You shall not shift judgment; you shall not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift does blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളയരുതു; മുഖം നോക്കരുതു; സമ്മാനം വാങ്ങരുതു; സമ്മാനം ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ കണ്ണു കുരുടാക്കുകയും നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ കര്യം മറിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

That which is altogether just shall you follow, that you may live, and inherit the land which the LORD your God gives you.നീ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീതിയെ തന്നേ പിന്തുടരേണം.

You shall not plant you a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD your God, which you shall make you.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു നീ പണിയുന്ന യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നരികെ യാതൊരു അശേരപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കരുതു.

Neither shall you set you up any image; which the LORD your God hates.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വെറുക്കുന്ന ഒരു ശിലാസ്തംഭം നാട്ടുകയും അരുതു.

Deuteronomy 17

You shall not sacrifice unto the LORD your God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evil thing: for that is an abomination unto the LORD your God.വല്ല ഊനമോ വിരൂപതയോ ഉള്ള കാളയെ എങ്കിലും ആടിനെ എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു.

If there be found among you, within any of your gates which the LORD your God gives you, man or woman, that has wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD your God, in transgressing his covenant,നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ഏതൊരു പട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു അവന്റെ നിയമം ലംഘിക്കയും

And has gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെയോ സൂര്യചന്ദ്രന്മാരെയോ ആകാശത്തിലെ ശേഷം സൈന്യത്തെയോ ചെന്നു സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്ത പുരുഷനെയാകട്ടെ സ്ത്രീയെയാകട്ടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കയും

And it be told you, and you have heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിനക്കു അറിവുകിട്ടുകയും ചെയ്താൽ നീ നല്ലവണ്ണം ശോധനകഴിച്ചു അങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛത യിസ്രായേലിൽ നടന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു വാസ്തവവും കാര്യം യഥാർത്ഥവും എന്നു കണ്ടാൽ

Then shall you bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto your gates, even that man or that woman, and shall stone them with stones, till they die.ആ ദുഷ്ടകാര്യം ചെയ്ത പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ പട്ടണവാതിലിന്നു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം.

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.മരണയോഗ്യനായവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നതു രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിമേൽ ആയിരിക്കേണം; ഏകസാക്ഷിയുടെ വാമൊഴിമേൽ അവനെ കൊല്ലരുതു.

The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall put the evil away from among you.അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു ആദ്യം സാക്ഷികളുടെയും പിന്നെ സർവ്വജനത്തിന്റെയും കൈ അവന്റെമേൽ ചെല്ലേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

If there arise a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates: then shall you arise, and get you up into the place which the LORD your God shall choose;നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ കുലപാതകമാകട്ടെ വസ്തുസംബന്ധമായ വ്യവഹാരമാകട്ടെ അടികലശലാകട്ടെ ഇങ്ങിനെയുള്ള ആവലാധികാര്യങ്ങളിൽ വല്ലതും വിധിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രയാസം ഉണ്ടായാൽ നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു പോകേണം.

And you shall come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall show you the sentence of judgment:ലേവ്യരായ പുരേഹിതന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലും അന്നുള്ള ന്യായാധിപന്റെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു ചോദിക്കേണം; അവർ നിനക്കു വിധി പറഞ്ഞുതരും.

And you shall do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall show you; and you shall observe to do according to all that they inform you:യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്ന വിധിപോലെ നീ ചെയ്യേണം; അവർ ഉപദേശിചുതരുന്നതു പോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്‌വാൻ ജാഗ്രതയായിരിക്കേണം.

According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do: you shall not decline from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand, nor to the left.അവർ ഉപദേശിചുതരുന്ന പ്രമാണത്തിന്നും പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്ന വിധിക്കും അനുസരണയായി നീ ചെയ്യേണം; അവർ പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്ന വിധി വിട്ടു നീ ഇടത്തോട്ടൊ വലത്തോട്ടൊ മാറരുതു.

And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and you shall put away the evil from Israel.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവക്കു അവിടെ ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയുതു നില്ക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്റെയോ ന്യായാധിപന്റെയോ വാക്കു കേള്‍ക്കാതെ ആരെങ്കിലും അഹങ്കാരം കാണിച്ചാല്‍ അവന്‍ മരിക്കേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലില്‍നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.ഇനി അഹങ്കാരം കാണിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ജനമെല്ലാം കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം.

When you are come unto the land which the LORD your God gives you, and shall possess it, and shall dwell therein, and shall say, I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are about me;നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നീ ചെന്നു അതിനെ കൈവശമാക്കി അവിടെ കുടിപാർത്ത ശേഷം: എന്റെ ചുറ്റമുള്ള സകലജതികളെയും പോലെ ഞാൻ ഒരു രാജാവിനെ എന്റെമേല്‍ ആക്കുമെന്നു പറയുമ്പോള്‍

You shall in any way set him king over you, whom the LORD your God shall choose: one from among your brethren shall you set king over you: you may not set a stranger over you, which is not your brother.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന രാജാവിനെ നിന്റെമേൽ ആക്കേണം; നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്‍നിന്നു ഒരുത്തനെ നിന്റെമേൽ രാജാവാക്കേണം; നിന്റെ സഹോദരനല്ലാത്ത അന്യജാതിക്കാരനെ നിന്റെമേൽ ആക്കിക്കൂടാ.

But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD has said unto you, All of you shall henceforth return no more that way.എന്നൽ അവന്നു കുതിര അനവധി ഉണ്ടാകരുതു. അധികം കുതിര സമ്പാദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ജനം മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാൻ അവൻ ഇടവരുത്തരുതു; ഇനിമേൽ ആ വഴിക്കു തിരിയരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം മറിഞ്ഞുപോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ അനേകം ഭാർയ്യമാരെ അവൻ എടുക്കരുതു; വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും അധികമായി സമ്പാദിക്കയും അരുതു.

And it shall be, when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:അവൻ തന്റെ രാജാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നു ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണം വാങ്ങി അതിന്റെ ഒരു പകർപ്പു ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതി എടുക്കേണം.

And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ സകലവചനങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും അവൻ പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടന്നു തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുവാൻ പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു അവന്റെ കൈവശം ഇരിക്കുകയും

That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു മീതെ അഹങ്കരിച്ചുയരാതെയും അവൻ കൽപനവിട്ടു ഇടത്തോട്ടൊ വലത്തോട്ടൊ തിരിയാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അവനും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ ദീർഘകാലം രാജ്യഭാരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി അവൻ തന്റെ ആയുഷ്ക്കാലം ഒക്കെയും അതു വായിക്കയും വേണം.

Deuteronomy 18

The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കും ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിന്നും യിസ്രായേലിനോടുകൂടെ ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങളും അവന്റെ അവകാശവുംകൊണ്ടു അവർ ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കേണം.

Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he has said unto them.ആകയാൽ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവർക്കു അവകാശം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവൻ തന്നേ അവരുടെ അവകാശം.

And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.ജനത്തിൽനിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കു ചെല്ലേണ്ടുന്ന അവകാശം എന്തെന്നാൽ: മാടിനെയോ ആടിനെയോ യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ കൈക്കുറകും കവിൾ രണ്ടും ആമാശയവും കൊടുക്കേണം.

The first-fruit also of your corn, of your wine, and of yours oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, shall you give him.ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും നിന്റെ ആടുകളെ കത്രിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യരോമവും നീ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

For the LORD your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാൻ എപ്പോഴും നിൽക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അവനെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും അല്ലോ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

And if a Levite come from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the LORD shall choose;ഏതു യിസ്രായേല്യപട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും പരദേശിയായി പാർത്തിരുന്ന ഒരു ലേവ്യൻ അവിടെനിന്നു യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നാൽ--അവന്നു മനസ്സുപോലെ വരാം--

Then he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there before the LORD.അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്ന ലേവ്യരായ തന്റെ സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയുംപോലെ അവന്നും തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യാം.

They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which comes of the sale of his patrimony.അവന്റെ പിതൃസ്വത്തു വിറ്റുകിട്ടിയ മുതലിന്നു പുറമെ അവരുടെ ഉപജീവനം സമാംശമായിരിക്കേണം.

When you are come into the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം അവിടത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകൾ നീ പഠിക്കരുതു.

There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.തന്റെ മകനെയോ മകളെയോ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നവൻ, പ്രശ്നക്കാരൻ, മുഹൂർത്തക്കാരൻ, ആഭിചാരകൻ, ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരൻ,

Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.മന്ത്രവാദി, വെളിച്ചപ്പാടൻ, ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നവൻ, അജ്ഞനക്കാരൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കാണരുതു.

For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you.ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നവനെല്ലാം യഹോവെക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛതകൾ നിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.

You shall be perfect with the LORD your God.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരിക്കേണം.

¹⁴

For these nations, which you shall possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for you, the LORD your God has not suffered you so to do.നീ നീക്കിക്കളവാനിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികൾ മുഹൂർത്തക്കാരുടെയും പ്രശ്നക്കാരുടെയും വാക്കുകേട്ടു നടന്നു; നീയോ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

The LORD your God will raise up unto you a Prophet from the midst of you, of your brethren, like unto me; unto him all of you shall hearken;നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു എന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചുതരും; അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കേണം.

According to all that you desired of the LORD your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.ഞാൻ മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇനി എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേൾപ്പാനും ഈ മഹത്തായ തീ കാണ്മാനും എനിക്കു ഇടവരരുതേ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഹോരേബിൽവെച്ചു മഹായോഗം കൂടിയ നാളിൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നീ അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.അന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: അവർ പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി.

¹⁸

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto you, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ ഞാൻ അവർക്കു അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ ആക്കും; ഞാൻ അവനോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവൻ അവരോടു പറയും.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.അവൻ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പറയുന്ന എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ യാതൊരുത്തെനങ്കിലും കേൾക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ അവനോടു ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കും.

But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.എന്നാൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ഞാൻ അവനോടു കല്പിക്കാത്ത വചനം എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അഹങ്കാരത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കയോ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ നാമത്തിൽ സംസാരിക്കയോ ചെയ്താൽ ആ പ്രവാചകൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

And if you say in yours heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാത്ത വചനം എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ അറിയും എന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞാൽ

When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken, but the prophet has spoken it presumptuously: you shall not be afraid of him.ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം സംഭവിക്കയും ഒത്തുവരികയും ചെയ്യാഞ്ഞാൽ അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതല്ല; പ്രവാചകൻ അതു സ്വയംകൃതമായി സംസാരിച്ചതത്രേ; അവനെ പേടിക്കരുതു.

Deuteronomy 19

When the LORD your God has cut off the nations, whose land the LORD your God gives you, and you succeed them, and dwell in their cities, and in their houses;നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ ജാതികളെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഛേദിച്ചുകളകയും നീ അവരുടെ ദേശം അടക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും വീടുകളിലും പാർക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ

You shall separate three cities for you in the midst of your land, which the LORD your God gives you to possess it.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തിൽ മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

You shall prepare you a way, and divide the coasts of your land, which the LORD your God gives you to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.ആരെങ്കിലും കുലചെയ്തുപോയാൽ അവിടേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഒരു വഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം മൂന്നായി വിഭാഗിക്കയും വേണം;

And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso kills his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;കുല ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവിടേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണ്ടുന്നവന്റെ സംഗതി എന്തെന്നാൽ: ഒരുത്തൻ പൂർവ്വദ്വേഷംകൂടാതെ അബദ്ധവശാൽ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ കൊന്നുപോയെങ്കിൽ, എങ്ങനെയെന്നാൽ:

As when a man goes into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetches a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the wooden handle, and lights upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:മരംവെട്ടുവാൻ ഒരുത്തൻ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടുകൂടെ കാട്ടിൽ പോയി മരംവെട്ടുവാൻ കോടാലി ഓങ്ങുമ്പോൾ കോടാലി ഊരി തെറിച്ചു കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു കൊണ്ടിട്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ,

Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.ഇങ്ങനെ കുല ചെയ്തവനെ രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ മനസ്സിന്റെ ഉഷ്ണത്തോടെ പിന്തുടർന്നു വഴിയുടെ ദൂരംനിമിത്തം അവനെ പിടിച്ചു അവന്റെ ജീവനെ നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവൻ ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിൽ ഓടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണം; അവന്നു അവനോടു പൂർവ്വദ്വേഷമില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മരണശിക്ഷെക്കു ഹേതുവില്ല.

Wherefore I command you, saying, You shall separate three cities for you.അതുകൊണ്ടു മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു.

And if the LORD your God enlarge your coast, as he has sworn unto your fathers, and give you all the land which he promised to give unto your fathers;നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എല്ലാനാളും അവന്റെ വഴികളിൽ നടക്കയും ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന ഈ സകലകല്പനകളും ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ

If you shall keep all these commandments to do them, which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shall you add three cities more for you, beside these three:നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്റെ അതിർ വിശാലമാക്കി നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത ദേശം ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു തന്നാൽ ഈ മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങൾ കൂടാതെ വേറെയും മൂന്നു വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

That innocent blood be not shed in your land, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance, and so blood be upon you.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചിന്നീട്ടു നിന്റെമേൽ രക്തപാതകം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

¹¹

But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and strike him mortally that he die, and flees into one of these cities:എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൻ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു തരംനോക്കി അവനോടു കയർത്തു അവനെ അടിച്ചുകൊന്നിട്ടു ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിൽ ഓടിപ്പോയാൽ,

Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.അവന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാർ ആളയച്ചു അവനെ അവിടെനിന്നു വരുത്തി അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു രക്തപ്രതികാരകന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കേണം.

Yours eye shall not pity him, but you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with you.നിനക്കു അവനോടു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; നിനക്കു നന്മ വരുവാനായി കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചൊരിഞ്ഞ പാതകം യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു നീക്കക്കളയേണം.

You shall not remove your neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in yours inheritance, which you shall inherit in the land that the LORD your God gives you to possess it.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നീ കൈവശമാക്കുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ അവകാശത്തിൽ പൂർവ്വന്മാർ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ അതിർ നീക്കരുതു.

¹⁵

One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sins: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.മനുഷ്യൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന യാതൊരു അകൃത്യത്തിന്നോ പാപത്തിന്നോ അവന്റെ നേരെ ഏകസാക്ഷി നിൽക്കരുതു; രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിമേൽ കാര്യം ഉറപ്പാക്കേണം.

If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;ഒരുത്തന്റെ നേരെ അകൃത്യം സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പാൻ ഒരു കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി അവന്നു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേറ്റാൽ

¹⁷

Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;തമ്മിൽ വ്യവഹാരമുള്ള രണ്ടുപേരും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അന്നുള്ള പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിൽക്കേണം.

¹⁸

And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother;ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ നല്ലവണ്ണം വിസ്താരം കഴിക്കേണം; സാക്ഷി കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി എന്നും സഹോദരന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാകഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും കണ്ടാൽ

¹⁹

Then shall all of you do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shall you put the evil away from among you.അവൻ സഹോദരന്നു വരുത്തുവാൻ നിരൂപിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ അവനോടു ചെയ്യേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

²⁰

And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.ഇനി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അതുപോലെയുള്ള ദോഷം നടക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശേഷമുള്ളവർ കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം.

And yours eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.നിനക്കു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; ജീവന്നു പകരം ജീവൻ, കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം കണ്ണു, പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലു, കൈക്കു പകരം കൈ, കാലിന്നു പകരം കാൽ.
