Jeremiah 4

If you will return, O Israel, says the LORD, return unto me: and if you will put away yours abominations out of my sight, then shall you not remove.യിസ്രായേലേ, നീ മനംതിരിയുമെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു മടങ്ങി വന്നുകൊൾക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; നിന്റെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുമെങ്കിൽ നീ അലഞ്ഞു നടക്കേണ്ടിവരികയില്ല.

And you shall swear, The LORD lives, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.യഹോവയാണ എന്നു നീ പരമാർത്ഥമായും ന്യായമായും നീതിയായും സത്യം ചെയ്കയും ജാതികൾ അവനിൽ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവനിൽ പുകഴുകയും ചെയ്യും.

For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടും യെരൂശലേമ്യരോടും യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ മുള്ളുകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ വിതെക്കാതെ തരിശുനിലം ഉഴുവിൻ.

Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, all of you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളും ആയുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തികൾനിമിത്തം എന്റെ കോപം തീപോലെ ജ്വലിച്ചു ആർക്കും കെടുത്തുകൂടാതവണ്ണം കത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ യഹോവെക്കായി പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രചർമ്മം നീക്കിക്കളവിൻ.

Declare all of you in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow all of you the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.യെഹൂദയിൽ അറിയിച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി ദേശത്തു കാഹളം ഊതുവാൻ പറവിൻ; കൂടിവരുവിൻ; നമുക്കു ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കു പോകാം എന്നു ഉറക്കെ വിളിച്ചു പറവിൻ.

Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.സീയോന്നു കൊടി ഉയർത്തുവിൻ; നിൽക്കാതെ ഓടിപ്പോകുവിൻ; ഞാൻ വടക്കുനിന്നു അനർത്ഥവും വലിയ നാശവും വരുത്തും.

The lion has come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make your land desolate; and your cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.സിംഹം പള്ളക്കാട്ടിൽ നിന്നു ഇളകിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ജാതികളുടെ സംഹാരകൻ ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കുവാൻ തന്റെ സ്ഥലം വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളെ നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതവണ്ണം നശിപ്പിക്കും.

For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and wail: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.ഇതു നിമിത്തം രട്ടുടുപ്പിൻ; വിലപിച്ചു മുറയിടുവിൻ; യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപം നമ്മെ വിട്ടുമാറീട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.

And it shall come to pass at that day, says the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.അന്നാളിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ ധൈര്യവും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ ധൈര്യവും ക്ഷയിക്കും; പുരോഹിതന്മാർ ഭ്രമിച്ചും പ്രവാചകന്മാർ സ്തംഭിച്ചും പോകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely you have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, All of you shall have peace; whereas the sword reachs unto the soul.അതിന്നു ഞാൻ: അയ്യോ, യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, പ്രാണനിൽ വാൾ കടന്നിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നീ ഈ ജനത്തെയും യെരൂശലേമിനെയും ഏറ്റവും വഞ്ചിച്ചുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,ആ കാലത്തു ഈ ജനത്തോടും യെരൂശലേമിനോടും പറവാനുള്ളതെന്തെന്നാൽ: മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മൊട്ടക്കുന്നുകളിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ഉഷ്ണക്കാറ്റു പേറ്റുവാനല്ല കൊഴിപ്പാനുമല്ല എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിക്കു നേരെ ഊതും.

Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.ഇതിലും കൊടുതായൊരു കാറ്റു എന്റെ കല്പനയാൽ വരും; ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ അവരോടു ന്യായവാദം കഴിക്കും.

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.ഇതാ, അവൻ മേഘങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ കയറിവരുന്നു; അവന്റെ രഥങ്ങൾ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുപോലെ ആകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കുതിരകൾ കഴുക്കളെക്കാളും വേഗതയുള്ളവ; അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നാം നശിച്ചല്ലോ.

O Jerusalem, wash yours heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your vain thoughts lodge within you?യെരൂശലേമേ, നീ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത കഴുകിക്കളക; നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടവിചാരങ്ങൾ എത്രത്തോളം നിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ഇരിക്കും.

For a voice declares from Dan, and publishes affliction from mount Ephraim.ദാനിൽനിന്നു ഉറക്കെ ഘോഷിക്കുന്നു; എഫ്രയീംമലയിൽനിന്നു അനർത്ഥത്തെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.

Make all of you mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.ജാതികളോടു പ്രസ്താവിപ്പിൻ; ഇതാ, കോട്ടവളയുന്നവർ ദൂരദേശത്തു നിന്നു വന്നു യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കു നേരെ ആർപ്പുവിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യെരൂശലേമിനോടു അറിയിപ്പിൻ.

As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she has been rebellious against me, says the LORD.അവൾ എന്നോടു മത്സരിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവർ വയലിലെ കാവൽക്കാരെപ്പോലെ അവളുടെ നേരെ വന്നു ചുറ്റും വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Your way and your doings have procured these things unto you; this is your wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reachs unto yours heart.നിന്റെ നടപ്പും പ്രവൃത്തികളും ഹേതുവായിട്ടത്രേ ഇവ നിനക്കു വന്നതു; ഇത്ര കൈപ്പായിരിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്നു തട്ടുവാനും കാരണം നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത തന്നേ.

My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.അയ്യോ എന്റെ ഉദരം, എന്റെ ഉദരം! എനിക്കു നോവു കിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അയ്യോ എന്റെ ഹൃദയഭിത്തികൾ! എന്റെ നെഞ്ചിടിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു മിണ്ടാതെ ഇരുന്നുകൂടാ; എന്റെ ഉള്ളം കാഹളനാദവും യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആർപ്പുവിളിയും കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.നാശത്തിന്മേൽ നാശം വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നു; ദേശമൊക്കെയും ശൂന്യമായി പെട്ടെന്നു എന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളും ഒരു ക്ഷണത്തിൽ എന്റെ തിരശ്ശീലകളും കവർച്ചയായ്പോയി.

How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?എത്രത്തോളം ഞാൻ കൊടി കണ്ടു കാഹളധ്വനി കേൾക്കേണ്ടിവരും?

For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are foolish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.എന്റെ ജനം ഭോഷന്മാർ; അവർ എന്നെ അറിയുന്നില്ല; അവർ ബുദ്ധികെട്ട മക്കൾ; അവർക്കു ഒട്ടും ബോധമില്ല; ദോഷം ചെയ്‍വാൻ അവർ സമർത്ഥന്മാർ; നന്മ ചെയ്‍വാനോ അവർക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ.

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയെ നോക്കി അതിനെ പാഴും ശൂന്യമായി കണ്ടു; ഞാൻ ആകാശത്തെ നോക്കി; അതിന്നു പ്രകാശം ഇല്ലാതെയിരുന്നു.

I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.ഞാൻ പർവ്വതങ്ങളെ നോക്കി; അവ വിറെക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; കുന്നുകൾ എല്ലാം ആടിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.ഞാൻ നോക്കി, ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെയും കണ്ടില്ല; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾ ഒക്കെയും പറന്നു പോയിരുന്നു.

²⁶

I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.ഞാൻ നോക്കി ഉദ്യാനം മരുഭൂമിയായ്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അതിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളൊക്കെയും യഹോവയാൽ അവന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം ഹേതുവായി ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁷

For thus has the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ദേശമൊക്കെയും ശൂന്യമാകും; എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ മുഴുവനായി മുടിച്ചുകളകയില്ല.

²⁸

For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.ഇതുനിമിത്തം ഭൂമി വിലപിക്കും; മീതെ ആകാശം കറുത്തു പോകും; ഞാൻ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അനുതപിക്കയില്ല, പിൻമാറുകയുമില്ല.

The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.കുതിരച്ചേവകരുടെയും വില്ലാളികളുടെയും ആരവം ഹേതുവായി സകല നഗരവാസികളും ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു; അവർ പള്ളക്കാടുകളിൽ ചെന്നു പാറകളിന്മേൽ കയറുന്നു; സകല നഗരവും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ആരും അവിടെ പാർക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

And when you are spoiled, what will you do? Though you cloth yourself with crimson, though you deck you with ornaments of gold, though you rent your face with painting, in vain shall you make yourself fair; your lovers will despise you, they will seek your life.ഇങ്ങനെ ശൂന്യമായ്പോകുമ്പോൾ നീ എന്തു ചെയ്യും? നീ രക്താംബരം ധരിച്ചാലും പൊന്നാഭരണം അണിഞ്ഞാലും നിന്റെ കണ്ണിൽ മഷി എഴുതിയാലും വ്യർത്ഥമായി നിനക്കു സൌന്ദര്യം വരുത്തുന്നു; നിന്റെ ജാരന്മാർ നിന്നെ നിരസിച്ചു നിനക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നു.

For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that brings forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewails herself, that spreads her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.ഈറ്റുനോവു കിട്ടിയവളുടെ ഒച്ചപോലെയും കടിഞ്ഞൂൽകുട്ടിയെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നവളുടെ ഞരക്കംപോലെയും ഒരു ശബ്ദം ഞാൻ കേട്ടു; നെടുവീർപ്പിട്ടും കൈമലർത്തിയുംകൊണ്ടു: അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! എന്റെ പ്രാണൻ കുലപാതകന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്ന സീയോൻ പുത്രിയുടെ ശബ്ദം തന്നേ.

Jeremiah 5

Run all of you back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if all of you can find a man, if there be any that executes judgment, that seeks the truth; and I will pardon it.ന്യായം പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും വിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ഉണ്ടോ? ഒരുത്തനെ കാണുമോ എന്നു യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീഥികളിൽ ചുറ്റിനടന്നു അന്വേഷിക്കയും അതിന്റെ വിശാലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ തിരഞ്ഞു അറികയും ചെയ്‍വിൻ; കണ്ടു എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ അതിനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും.

And though they say, The LORD lives; surely they swear falsely.യഹോവയാണ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലും അവർ കപടമായിട്ടത്രേ സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

O LORD, are not yours eyes upon the truth? you have stricken them, but they have not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ കണ്ണു വിശ്വസ്തതയല്ലയോ നോക്കുന്നതു? നീ അവരെ അടിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവർ വേദനപ്പെട്ടില്ല; നീ അവരെ ക്ഷയിപ്പിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവർക്കു ബോധം കൈക്കൊൾവാൻ മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മുഖം പാറയെക്കാൾ കടുപ്പമാക്കി; മടങ്ങിവരുവാൻ അവർക്കു മനസില്ലായിരുന്നു.

Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ: ഇവർ അല്പന്മാർ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനർ തന്നേ; അവർ യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവും അറിയുന്നില്ല.

I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.ഞാൻ മഹാന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവരോടു സംസാരിക്കും; അവർ യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവും അറിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ അവരും ഒരുപോലെ നുകം തകർത്തു കയറു പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goes out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.അതുകൊണ്ടു കാട്ടിൽനിന്നു ഒരു സിംഹം വന്നു അവരെ കൊല്ലും; മരുപ്രദേശത്തിലെ ചെന്നായ് അവരെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകും; പുള്ളിപ്പുലി അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കെതിരെ പതിയിരിക്കും; അവയിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും പറിച്ചു കീറിക്കളയും; അവരുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങൾ വളരെയല്ലോ? അവരുടെ പിൻമാറ്റങ്ങളും പെരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

How shall I pardon you for this? your children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? നിന്റെ മക്കൾ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, ദൈവമല്ലാത്തവയെ ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്തുവരുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരെ പോഷിപ്പിച്ച സമയത്തു അവർ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്കയും വേശ്യാഗൃഹങ്ങളിൽ കൂട്ടമായി ചെല്ലുകയും ചെയ്തു.

They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife.തീറ്റിത്തടിപ്പിച്ച കുതിരകളെപ്പോലെ അവർ മദിച്ചുനടന്നു, ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ നോക്കി ചിറാലിക്കുന്നു.

Shall I not visit for these things? says the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?ഇവനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ സന്ദർശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജാതിയോടു ഞാൻ പകരം ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Go all of you up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's.അതിന്റെ മതിലുകളിന്മേൽ കയറി നശിപ്പിപ്പിൻ; എങ്കിലും മുടിച്ചുകളയരുതു. അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ നീക്കിക്കളവിൻ; അവ യഹോവെക്കുള്ളവയല്ലല്ലോ.

For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, says the LORD.യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും എന്നോടു മഹാദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

They have lied concerning the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:അവർ യഹോവയെ നിഷേധിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: അതു അവനല്ല; നമുക്കു ദോഷം വരികയില്ല; നാം വാളോ ക്ഷാമമോ കാണുകയുമില്ല.

And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.പ്രവാചകന്മാർ കാറ്റായ്തീരും; അവർക്കു അരുളപ്പാടില്ല; അവർക്കു അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

Wherefore thus says the LORD God of hosts, Because all of you speak this word, behold, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ ഈ വാക്കു പറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു, ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വായിൽ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ തീയും ഈ ജനത്തെ വിറകും ആക്കും; അവർ അതിന്നു ഇരയായി തീരും.

Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, says the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you know not, neither understand what they say.യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, ഞാൻ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു ജാതിയെ നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു: അതു സ്ഥിരതയുള്ളോരു ജാതി; പുരാതനമായോരു ജാതി, ഭാഷ നിനക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാത്തതും വാക്കു നിനക്കു തിരിയാത്തതുമായോരു ജാതി തന്നേ;

Their quiver is as an open tomb, they are all mighty men.അവരുടെ ആവനാഴി തുറന്ന ശവക്കുഴി; അവർ എല്ലാവരും വീരന്മാരത്രേ.

Nevertheless in those days, says the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.എന്നാൽ അന്നാളിലും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മുടിച്ചുകളകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

And it shall come to pass, when all of you shall say, Wherefore does the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shall you answer them, Like all of you have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall all of you serve strangers in a land that is not your's.നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇവയൊക്കെയും നമ്മോടു ചെയ്‍വാൻ സംഗതി എന്തെന്നു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോൾ നീ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തു അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതല്ലാത്ത ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങൾ അന്യജാതിക്കാരെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടിവരും എന്നുത്തരം പറയേണം.

Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,നിങ്ങൾ യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തിൽ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു യെഹൂദയിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:കണ്ണു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കാണാതെയും ചെവി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കേൾക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കുന്ന മൂഢന്മാരും ബുദ്ധിഹീനന്മാരുമായ ജനമേ, ഇതു കേൾപ്പിൻ!

Fear all of you not me? says the LORD: will all of you not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ലയോ? എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വിറെക്കയില്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാൻ കടലിന്നു കവിഞ്ഞുകൂടാതവണ്ണം നിത്യപ്രമാണമായി മണൽ അതിരാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; തിരകൾ അലെച്ചാലും സാധിക്കയില്ല; എത്രതന്നേ ഇരെച്ചാലും അതിർ കടക്കയില്ല.

But this people has a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.ഈ ജനത്തിന്നോ ശാഠ്യവും മത്സരവും ഉള്ളോരു ഹൃദയം ഉണ്ടു; അവർ ശഠിച്ചു പോയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു

Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that gives rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserves unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.മുന്മഴയും പിന്മഴയും ഇങ്ങനെ നമുക്കു അതതു സമയത്തു വേണ്ടു മഴ തരികയും കൊയ്ത്തിന്നുള്ള കാലാവധി പാലിച്ചുതരികയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നാം ഭയപ്പെടുക എന്നു അവർ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറയുന്നതുമില്ല.

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good things from you.ഇവ മാറിപ്പോകുവാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾ അത്രേ കാരണം; നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളാൽ ഈ നന്മെക്കു മുടക്കം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that sets snares; they set a trap, they catch men.എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ കാണുന്നു; അവർ വേടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ കുടുക്കുവെച്ചു മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നു.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and becoming rich.കൂട്ടിൽ പക്ഷി നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവരുടെ വീട്ടിൽ വഞ്ചന നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ അവർ മഹാന്മാരും ധനവാന്മാരും ആയിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

They are becoming fat, they shine: yea, they pass over the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.അവർ പുഷ്ടിവെച്ചു മിന്നുന്നു; ദുഷ്കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ അവർ കവിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ അനാഥന്മാർക്കു ഗുണം വരത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തുന്നില്ല; ദരിദ്രന്മാർക്കു ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യുന്നതുമില്ല.

Shall I not visit for these things? says the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?ഇവനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ സന്ദർശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജാതിയോടു ഞാൻ പകരം ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;വിസ്മയവും ഭയങ്കരവുമായുള്ളതു ദേശത്തു സംഭവിക്കുന്നു.

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will all of you do in the end thereof?പ്രവാചകന്മാർ വ്യാജമായി പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു; പുരോഹിതന്മാരും അവരോടു ഒരു കയ്യായി നിന്നു അധികാരം നടത്തുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നോ അതു ഇഷ്ടം ആകുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഒടുക്കം നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു ചെയ്യും.

Jeremiah 6

O all of you children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appears out of the north, and great destruction.ബെന്യാമീൻമക്കളേ, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോകുവിൻ; തെക്കോവയിൽ കാഹളം ഊതുവിൻ; ബേത്ത്-ഹക്കേരെമിൽ ഒരു തീക്കുറി ഉയർത്തുവിൻ വടക്കു നിന്നു അനർത്ഥവും മഹാ നാശവും കാണായ്‍വരുന്നു.

I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.സുന്ദരിയും സുഖഭോഗിനിയുമായ സീയോൻ പുത്രിയെ ഞാൻ മുടിച്ചുകളയും.

The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഇടയന്മാർ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വരും; അവർ അവൾക്കെതിരെ ചുറ്റിലും കൂടാരം അടിക്കും; അവർ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ഭാഗത്തു മേയിക്കും.

Prepare all of you war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goes away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.അതിന്റെ നേരെ പടയൊരുക്കുവിൻ! എഴുന്നേല്പിൻ ഉച്ചെക്കു തന്നേ നമുക്കു കയറിച്ചെല്ലാം! അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! നേരം വൈകി നിഴൽ നീണ്ടുപോയി.

Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.എഴുന്നേല്പിൻ! രാത്രിയിൽ നാം കയറിച്ചെന്നു അതിലെ അരമനകളെ നശിപ്പിക്കുക!

For thus has the LORD of hosts said, Hew all of you down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിക്കുന്നു: വൃക്ഷം മുറിപ്പിൻ! യെരൂശലേമിന്നു നേരെ വാട കോരുവിൻ! സന്ദർശിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള നഗരം ഇതുതന്നേ; അതിന്റെ അകം മുഴുവനും പീഡനം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു;

As a fountain casts out her waters, so she casts out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.കിണറ്റിൽ പച്ചവെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അതിൽ എപ്പോഴും പുതിയ ദുഷ്ടത സംഭവിക്കുന്നു; സാഹസവും കവർച്ചയുമേ അവിടെ കേൾപ്പാനുള്ളു; എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ എപ്പോഴും ദീനവും മുറിവും മാത്രമേയുള്ളു.

Be you instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from you; lest I make you desolate, a land not inhabited.യെരൂശലേമേ, എന്റെ ഉള്ളം നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപിരിയാതെയും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ശൂന്യവും നിർജ്ജനപ്രദേശവും ആക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഉപദേശം കൈക്കൊൾക.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back yours hand as a grape-gatherer into the baskets.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പിനെ മുന്തിരിപ്പഴംപോലെ അരിച്ചു പറിക്കും; മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെ നിന്റെ കൈ വീണ്ടും വള്ളികളിലേക്കു നീട്ടുക.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.അവർ കേൾപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ആരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കേണ്ടു? അവരുടെ ചെവിക്കു പരിച്ഛേദന ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴികയില്ല; യഹോവയുടെ വചനം അവർക്കു നിന്ദയായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർക്കു അതിൽ ഇഷ്ടമില്ല.

Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു അടക്കിവെച്ചു ഞാൻ തളർന്നുപോയി; ഞാൻ അതു വീഥികളിലെ കുട്ടികളിന്മേലും യൌവനക്കാരുടെ സംഘത്തിന്മേലും ഒരുപോലെ ഒഴിച്ചുകളയും; ഭർത്താവും ഭാര്യയും വൃദ്ധനും വയോധികനും കൂടെ പിടിപെടും.

And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, says the LORD.അവരുടെ വീടുകളും നിലങ്ങളും ഭാര്യമാരും എല്ലാം അന്യന്മാർക്കു ആയിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ എന്റെ കൈ ദേശത്തിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ നേരെ നീട്ടും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one deals falsely.അവരൊക്കെയും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികൾ ആകുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ വ്യാജം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.സമാധാനം ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ, സമാധാനം സമാധാനം എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുറിവിന്നു ലഘുവായി ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നു.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, says the LORD.മ്ളേച്ഛത പ്രവർത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; അവർ ലജ്ജിക്കയോ നാണം അറികയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവർ വീണുപോകും; ഞാൻ അവരെ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന കാലത്തു അവർ ഇടറി വീഴും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Thus says the LORD, Stand all of you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and all of you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ വഴികളിൽ ചെന്നു നല്ലവഴി ഏതെന്നു പഴയ പാതകളെ നോക്കി ചോദിച്ചു അതിൽ നടപ്പിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സിന്നു വിശ്രാമം ലഭിക്കും. അവരോ: ഞങ്ങൾ അതിൽ നടക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കാവൽക്കാരെ ആക്കി: കാഹളനാദം ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അവർ: ഞങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Therefore hear, all of you nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.അതുകൊണ്ടു ജാതികളേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ; സഭയേ, അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടക്കുന്നതു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾക.

Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.ഭൂമിയോ, കേൾക്ക; ഈ ജനം എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെ എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ നിരസിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു, ഞാൻ അവരുടെ വിചാരങ്ങളുടെ ഫലമായി അനർത്ഥം അവരുടെമേൽ വരുത്തും.

To what purpose comes there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.ശെബയിൽനിന്നു കുന്തുരുക്കവും ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു വയമ്പും എനിക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതു എന്തിനു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളിൽ എനിക്കു പ്രസാദമില്ല; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളിൽ എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടവുമില്ല.

Therefore thus says the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.ആകയാൽ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇടർച്ചകളെ വെക്കും; പിതാക്കന്മാരും പുത്രന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ അതിന്മേൽ തട്ടി വീഴും; അയൽക്കാരനും കൂട്ടുകാരനും നശിച്ചുപോകും.

Thus says the LORD, Behold, a people comes from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, വടക്കുദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു ജാതി വരുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ഒരു മഹാജാതി ഉണർന്നുവരും.

They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against you, O daughter of Zion.അവർ വില്ലും കുന്തവും എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ക്രൂരന്മാർ; കരുണയില്ലാത്തവർ തന്നേ; അവരുടെ ആരവം കടൽപോലെ ഇരെക്കുന്നു; സീയോൻ പുത്രീ, അവർ നിന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി ഓരോരുത്തരും കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി അണിനിരന്നു നില്ക്കുന്നു.

We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish has taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.അതിന്റെ വർത്തമാനം കേട്ടിട്ടു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ധൈര്യം ക്ഷയിച്ചു, നോവു കിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയെപ്പോലെ മഹാവ്യസനവും അതിവേദനയും ഞങ്ങളെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.നിങ്ങൾ വയലിലേക്കു ചെല്ലരുതു; വഴിയിൽ നടക്കയുമരുതു; അവിടെ ശത്രുവിന്റെ വാളും ചുറ്റും ഭയവും ഉണ്ടു.

O daughter of my people, gird you with sackcloth, and wallow yourself in ashes: make you mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രീ, രട്ടുടുത്തു വെണ്ണീറിൽ ഉരുളുക; ഏകജാതനെക്കുറിച്ചു എന്നപോലെയുള്ള ദുഃഖവും കഠിനമായുള്ള വിലാപവും കഴിച്ചുകൊൾക; സംഹാരകൻ പെട്ടെന്നു നമ്മുടെ നേരെ വരും.

I have set you for a tower and a fortress among my people, that you may know and try their way.നീ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നടപ്പു പരീക്ഷിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു പരീക്ഷകനും മാറ്റുനോക്കുന്നവനും ആക്കിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

They are all grievous apostates, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.അവരെല്ലാവരും മഹാ മത്സരികൾ, നുണപറഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നവർ; ചെമ്പും ഇരിമ്പും അത്രേ; അവരെല്ലാവരും വഷളത്വം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melts in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.തുരുത്തി ഊതുന്നു; തീയിൽനിന്നു വരുന്നതു ഈയമത്രേ; ഊതിക്കഴിക്കുന്ന പണി വെറുതെ; ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD has rejected them.യഹോവ അവരെ ത്യജിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കു കറക്കൻ വെള്ളി എന്നു പേരാകും.
