Matthew 6

Take heed that all of you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise all of you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.“മനുഷ്യർ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതിയെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിപ്പിൻ; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ പക്കൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു പ്രതിഫലമില്ല.

Therefore when you do yours alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.ആകയാൽ ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യരാൽ മാനം ലഭിപ്പാൻ പള്ളികളിലും വീഥികളിലും കപടഭക്തിക്കാർ ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ കാഹളം ഊതിക്കരുതു; അവർക്കു പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു

But when you do alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does:നീയോ ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ഭിക്ഷ രഹസ്യത്തിലായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വലങ്കൈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഇടങ്കൈ അറിയരുതു.

That yours alms may be in secret: and your Father which sees in secret himself shall reward you openly.രഹസ്യത്തിൽ കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.നിങ്ങൾ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോൾ കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ ആകരുതു; അവർ മനുഷ്യർക്കു വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു പള്ളികളിലും തെരുക്കോണുകളിലും നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പാൻ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു; അവർക്കു പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.നീയോ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോൾ അറയിൽ കടന്നു വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്ക; രഹസ്യത്തിൽ കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

But when all of you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ജാതികളെപ്പോലെ ജല്പനം ചെയ്യരുതു; അതിഭാഷണത്താൽ ഉത്തരം കിട്ടും എന്നല്ലോ അവർക്കു തോന്നുന്നതു.

Be not all of you therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things all of you have need of, before all of you ask him.അവരോടു തുല്യരാകരുതു; നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു ഇന്നതെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ യാചിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

After this manner therefore pray all of you: Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name.നിങ്ങൾ ഈവണ്ണം പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പിൻ: സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടേണമേ;

Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.നിന്റെ രാജ്യം വരേണമേ; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിലും ആകേണമേ;

Give us this day our daily bread.ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ള ആഹാരം ഇന്നു തരേണമേ;

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടക്കാരോടു ഞങ്ങൾ ക്ഷിമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ;

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.ഞങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷയിൽ കടത്താതെ ദുഷ്ടങ്കൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ. രാജ്യവും ശക്തിയും മഹത്വവും എന്നേക്കും നിനക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.

For if all of you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യരോടു അവരുടെ പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചാൽ, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കും.

But if all of you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യരോടു പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിഴകളെയും ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

Moreover when all of you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ വാടിയ മുഖം കാണിക്കരുതു; അവർ ഉപവസിക്കുന്നതു മനുഷ്യർക്കു വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു മുഖം വിരൂപമാക്കുന്നു; അവർക്കു പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

But you, when you fast, anoint yours head, and wash your face;നീയോ ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ഉപവാസം മനുഷ്യർക്കല്ല രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്നു വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു തലയിൽ എണ്ണ തേച്ചു മുഖം കഴുകുക.

That you appear not unto men to fast, but unto your Father which is in secret: and your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you openly.രഹസ്യത്തിൽ കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം നല്കും.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കയും കള്ളന്മാർ തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ഭൂമിയിൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിക്കരുതു.

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കാതെയും കള്ളന്മാർ തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.നിന്റെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉള്ളേടത്തു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയവും ഇരിക്കും.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore yours eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light.ശരീരത്തിന്റെ വിളക്കു കണ്ണു ആകുന്നു; കണ്ണു ചൊവ്വുള്ളതെങ്കിൽ നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും.

But if yours eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness!കണ്ണു കേടുള്ളതെങ്കിലോ നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും ഇരുണ്ടതായിരിക്കും; എന്നാൽ നിന്നിലുള്ള വെളിച്ചം ഇരുട്ടായാൽ ഇരുട്ടു എത്ര വലിയതു!

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. All of you cannot serve God and mammon.രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാൻ ആർക്കുംകഴികയില്ല; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താൽ ഒരുത്തനെ പകെച്ചു മറ്റവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരുത്തനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേർന്നു മറ്റവനെ നിരസിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൈവത്തെയും മാമോനെയും സേവിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല.

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what all of you shall eat, or what all of you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what all of you shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: എന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നു ശരീരത്തിന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; ആഹാരത്തെക്കാൾ ജീവനും ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കാൾ ശരീരവും വലുതല്ലേയോ?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are all of you not much better than they?ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെ നോക്കുവിൻ; അവ വിതെക്കുന്നില്ല, കൊയ്യുന്നില്ല, കളപ്പുരയിൽ കൂട്ടിവെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല എങ്കിലും സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അവയെ പുലർത്തുന്നു; അവയെക്കാൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റവും വിശേഷതയുള്ളവരല്ലയോ ?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതിനാൽ തന്റെ നീളത്തോടു ഒരു മുഴം കൂട്ടുവാൻ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആർക്കു കഴിയും?

²⁸

And why take all of you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതും എന്തു? വയലിലെ താമര എങ്ങനെ വളരുന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിപ്പിൻ; അവ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നില്ല, നൂല്ക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.എന്നാൽ ശലോമോൻ പോലും തന്റെ സർവ്വ മഹത്വത്തിലും ഇവയിൽ ഒന്നിനോളം ചമഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O all of you of little faith?ഇന്നുള്ളതും നാളെ അടുപ്പിൽ ഇടുന്നതുമായ വയലിലെ പുല്ലിനെ ദൈവം ഇങ്ങനെ ചമയിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, അല്പവിശ്വാസികളേ, നിങ്ങളെ എത്ര അധികം.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?ആകയാൽ നാം എന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു.

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that all of you have need of all these things.ഈ വക ഒക്കെയും ജാതികൾ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആവശ്യം എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

But seek all of you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.മുമ്പെ അവന്റെ രാജ്യവും നീതിയും അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ; അതോടുകൂടെ ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടും.

³⁴

Take therefore no thought for the next day: for the next day shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.അതുകൊണ്ടു നാളെക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; നാളത്തെ ദിവസം തനിക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടുമല്ലോ; അതതു ദിവസത്തിന്നു അന്നന്നത്തെ ദോഷം മതി ”

Matthew 7

Judge not, that all of you be not judged.“നിങ്ങൾ വിധിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വിധിക്കരുതു.

For with what judgment all of you judge, all of you shall be judged: and with what measure all of you mete, it shall be measured to you again.നിങ്ങൾ വിധിക്കുന്ന വിധിയാൽ നിങ്ങളെയും വിധിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ അളക്കുന്ന അളവിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കും അളന്നു കിട്ടും.

And why behold you the splinter that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in yours own eye?എന്നാൽ സ്വന്തകണ്ണിലെ കോൽ ഓർക്കാതെ സഹോദരന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കരടു നോക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

Or how will you say to your brother, Let me pull out the splinter out of yours eye; and, behold, a beam is in yours own eye?അല്ല, സ്വന്ത കണ്ണിൽ കോൽ ഇരിക്കെ നീ സഹോദരനോടു: നില്ലു, നിന്റെ കണ്ണിൽ നിന്നു കരടു എടുത്തുകളയട്ടേ, എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of yours own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the splinter out of your brother's eye.കപട ഭക്തിക്കാരാ, മുമ്പെ സ്വന്തകണ്ണിൽനിന്നു കോൽ എടുത്തുകളക; പിന്നെ സഹോദരന്റെ കണ്ണിൽ കരടു എടുത്തുകളവാൻ വെടിപ്പായി കാണും.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast all of you your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and return and rend you.വിശുദ്ധമായതു നായ്ക്കൾക്കു കൊടുക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ മുത്തുകളെ പന്നികളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇടുകയുമരുതു; അവ കാൽകൊണ്ടു അവ ചവിട്ടുകയും തിരിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെ ചീന്തിക്കളകയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഇടവരരുതു.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and all of you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:യാചിപ്പിൻ എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടും; അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തും; മുട്ടുവിൻ എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തുറക്കും.

For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.യാചിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവൻ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; മുട്ടുന്നവന്നു തുറക്കും.

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?മകൻ അപ്പം ചോദിച്ചാൽ അവന്നു കല്ലു കൊടുക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരുള്ളൂ?

Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?മീൻ ചോദിച്ചാൽ അവന്നു പാമ്പിനെ കൊടുക്കുമോ?

If all of you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?അങ്ങനെ ദോഷികളായ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കു നല്ല ദാനങ്ങളെ കൊടുപ്പാൻ അറിയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു തന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നന്മ എത്ര അധികം കൊടുക്കും!

Therefore all things whatsoever all of you would that men should do to you, do all of you even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഇച്ഛിക്കന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾ അവർക്കും ചെയ്‍വിൻ; ന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഇതു തന്നേ.

Enter all of you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:ഇടുക്കുവാതിലൂടെ അകത്തു കടപ്പിൻ; നാശത്തിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന വാതിൽ വീതിയുള്ളതും വഴി വിശാലവും അതിൽകൂടി കടക്കുന്നവർ അനേകരും ആകുന്നു.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.ജീവങ്കലേക്കു പോകുന്ന വാതിൽ ഇടുക്കവും വഴി ഞെരുക്കവുമുള്ളതു; അതു കണ്ടെത്തുന്നവർ ചുരുക്കമത്രേ.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.കള്ള പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; അവർ ആടുകളുടെ വേഷം പൂണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു; അകമെയോ കടിച്ചുകീറുന്ന ചെന്നായ്ക്കൾ ആകുന്നു.

All of you shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?അവരുടെ ഫലങ്ങളാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അവരെ തിരിച്ചറിയാം; മുള്ളുകളിൽനിന്നു മുന്തിരിപ്പഴവും ഞെരിഞ്ഞിലുകളിൽനിന്നു അത്തിപ്പഴവും പറിക്കുമാറുണ്ടോ?

Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.നല്ല വൃക്ഷം ഒക്കെയും നല്ല ഫലം കായക്കുന്നു; ആകാത്ത വൃക്ഷമോ ആകാത്ത ഫലം കായക്കുന്നു.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.നല്ല വൃക്ഷത്തിന്നു ആകാത്ത ഫലവും ആകാത്ത വൃക്ഷത്തിന്നു നല്ല ഫലവും കായ്പ്പാൻ കഴിയില്ല.

Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.നല്ല ഫലം കായ്ക്കാത്തവൃക്ഷം ഒക്കെയും വെട്ടി തീയിൽ ഇടുന്നു.

Wherefore by their fruits all of you shall know them.ആകയാൽ അവരുടെ ഫലത്താൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ തിരിച്ചറിയും.

Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.എന്നോടു കർത്താവേ, കർത്താവേ, എന്നു പറയുന്നവൻ ഏവനുമല്ല, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അത്രേ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതു.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works?കർത്താവേ, കർത്താവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രവചിക്കയും നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വളരെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും ചെയ്തില്ലയോ എന്നു പലരും ആ നാളിൽ എന്നോടു പറയും.

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, all of you that work iniquity.അന്നു ഞാൻ അവരോടു: ഞാൻ ഒരു നാളും നിങ്ങളെ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല; അധർമ്മം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടു പോകുവിൻ എന്നു തീർത്തു പറയും.

Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:ആകയാൽ എന്റെ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ഒക്കെയും പാറമേൽ വീടു പണിത ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോടു തുല്യനാകുന്നു.

²⁵

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.വന്മഴ ചൊരിഞ്ഞു നദികൾ പൊങ്ങി കാറ്റു അടിച്ചു ആ വീട്ടിന്മേൽ അലെച്ചു; അതു പാറമേൽ അടിസ്ഥാനമുള്ളതാകയാൽ വീണില്ല.

And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:എന്റെ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു ചെയ്യാത്തവൻ ഒക്കെയും മണലിന്മേൽ വീടുപണിത മനുഷ്യനോടു തുല്യനാകുന്നു.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.വന്മഴ ചൊരിഞ്ഞു നദികൾ പൊങ്ങി കാറ്റു അടിച്ചു ആ വീട്ടിന്മേൽ അലെച്ചു, അതു വീണു; അതിന്റെ വീഴ്ച വലിയതായിരുന്നു.”

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ യേശു പറഞ്ഞു തീർന്നപ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽ വിസ്മയിച്ചു;

For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.അവരുടെ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെ അല്ല, അധികാരമുള്ളവനായിട്ടത്രേ അവൻ അവരോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചതു.

Matthew 8

When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.അവൻ മലയിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നാറെ വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു.

And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.അപ്പോൾ ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി വന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു കർത്താവേ, നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be you clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.അവൻ കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു: “എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടു; നീ ശുദ്ധമാക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം മാറി അവൻ ശുദ്ധമായി.

And Jesus says unto him, See you tell no man; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.യേശു അവനോടു: “നോക്കൂ, ആരോടും പറയരുതു; അവർക്കു സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി നീ ചെന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ പുരോഹിതന്നു കാണിച്ചു, മോശെ കല്പിച്ച വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,അവൻ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഒരു ശതാധിപൻ വന്നു അവനോടു:

And saying, Lord, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.കർത്താവേ, എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരൻ പക്ഷവാതം പിടിച്ചു കഠിനമായി വേദനപ്പെട്ടു വീട്ടിൽ കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus says unto him, I will come and heal him.അവൻ അവനോടു: “ഞാൻ വന്നു അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.അതിന്നു ശതാധിപൻ: കർത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ പുരെക്കകത്തു വരുവാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല; ഒരു വാക്കുമാത്രം കല്പിച്ചാൽ എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.ഞാനും അധികാരത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള മനുഷ്യൻ ആകുന്നു. എന്റെ കീഴിൽ പടയാളികൾ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാൻ ഒരുവനോടു: പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ പോകുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടു: വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ വരുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനോടു: ഇതു ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു യേശു അതിശയിച്ചു, പിൻചെല്ലുന്നവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “യിസ്രായേലിൽകൂടെ ഇത്ര വലിയ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.കിഴക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും അനേകർ വന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും കൂടെ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ പന്തിക്കിരിക്കും.

But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേയോ ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുളിലേക്കു തള്ളിക്കളയും; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done unto you. And his servant was healed in the very same hour.പിന്നെ യേശു ശതാധിപനോടു: “പോക, നീ വിശ്വസിച്ചതു പോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ അവന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.യേശു പത്രോസിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നാറെ അവന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.അവൻ അവളുടെ കൈതൊട്ടു പനി അവളെ വിട്ടു; അവൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവർക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു.

When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:വൈകുന്നേരം ആയപ്പോൾ പല ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവൻ വാക്കുകൊണ്ടു ദുരാത്മാക്കളെ പുറത്താക്കി സകലദീനക്കാർക്കും സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തി.

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.അവൻ നമ്മുടെ ബലഹീനതകളെ എടുത്തു വ്യാധികളെ ചുമന്നു എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ പറഞ്ഞതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാൻ തന്നേ.

Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.എന്നാൽ യേശു തന്റെ ചുറ്റും വളരെ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ അക്കരെക്കു പോകുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow you anywhere you go.അന്നു ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പോയാലും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus says unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.യേശു അവനോടു: “കുറുനരികൾക്കു കുഴികളും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകൾക്കു കൂടുകളും ഉണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നോ തലചായിപ്പാൻ ഇടം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ വേറൊരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, ഞാൻ മുമ്പെപോയി എന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്‍വാൻ അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.യേശു അവനോടു: “നീ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരിക; മരിച്ചവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മരിച്ചവരെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.അവൻ ഒരു പടകിൽ കയറിയപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കൂടെ ചെന്നു.

And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.പിന്നെ കടലിൽ വലിയ ഓളം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പടകു തിരകളാൽ മുങ്ങുമാറായി; അവനോ ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.

And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.അവർ അടുത്തുചെന്നു: കർത്താവേ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ: ഞങ്ങൾ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ഉണർത്തി.

²⁶

And he says unto them, Why are all of you fearful, O all of you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.അവൻ അവരോടു: “അല്പവിശ്വാസികളെ, നിങ്ങൾ ഭീരുക്കൾ ആകുവാൻ എന്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാറ്റിനെയും കടലിനെയും ശാസിച്ചപ്പോൾ വലിയ ശാന്തതയുണ്ടായി.

But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!എന്നാറെ ആ മനുഷ്യർ അതിശയിച്ചു: ഇവൻ എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവൻ? കാറ്റും കടലും കൂടെ ഇവനെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁸

And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.അവൻ അക്കരെ ഗദരേനരുടെ ദേശത്തു എത്തിയാറെ രണ്ടു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തർ ശവക്കല്ലറകളിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്നു എതിരെ വന്നു; അവർ അത്യുഗ്രന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ആർക്കും ആ വഴി നടന്നുകൂടാഞ്ഞു.

And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God? are you come here to torment us before the time?അവർ നിലവിളിച്ചു: ദൈവപുത്രാ, ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? സമയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ഇവിടെ വന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.അവർക്കകലെ ഒരു വലിയ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

So the devils besought him, saying, If you cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.ഭൂതങ്ങൾ അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടത്തിലേക്കു അയക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു

And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.“പൊയ്ക്കൊൾവിൻ” എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പന്നികളിലേക്കു ചെന്നു; ആ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ കടലിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുങ്ങി ചത്തു.

And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.മേയക്കുന്നവർ ഓടി പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു സകലവും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്ഥരുടെ വസ്തുതയും അറിയിച്ചു.

³⁴

And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.ഉടനെ പട്ടണം എല്ലാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശുവിന്നു എതിരെ ചെന്നു; അവനെ കണ്ടാറെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിർ വിട്ടു പോകേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
