And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.ശെബാരാജ്ഞി യഹോവയുടെ നാമം സംബന്ധിച്ചു ശലോമോന്നുള്ള കീർത്തികേട്ടിട്ടു കടമൊഴികളാൽ അവനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വന്നു.

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.അവൾ അതിമഹത്തായ പരിവാരത്തോടും സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗവും അനവധി പൊന്നും രത്നവും ചുമന്ന ഒട്ടകളങ്ങളോടുംകൂടെ യെരൂശലേമിൽവന്നു; അവൾ ശലോമോന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നശേഷം തന്റെ മനോരഥമൊക്കെയും അവനോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.അവളുടെ സകലചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ശലോമോൻ സമാധാനം പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനം പറവാൻ കഴിയാതെ ഒന്നും രാജാവിന്നു മറപൊരുളായിരുന്നില്ല.

And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,ശെബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോന്റെ സകലജ്ഞാനവും അവൻ പണിത അരമനയും

And the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.അവന്റെ മേശയിലെ ഭക്ഷണവും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ ഇരിപ്പും അവന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരുടെ നിലയും അവരുടെ ഉടുപ്പും അവന്റെ പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരെയും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കുള്ള അവന്റെ എഴുന്നെള്ളത്തും കണ്ടിട്ടു അമ്പരന്നുപോയി.

And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of your acts and of your wisdom.അവൾ രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങളെയും ജ്ഞാനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു കേട്ട വർത്തമാനം സത്യം തന്നേ.

Nevertheless I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: your wisdom and prosperity exceeds the fame which I heard.ഞാൻ വന്നു എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുന്നതുവരെ ആ വർത്തമാനം വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല. എന്നാൽ പാതിപോലും ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല. ഞാൻ കേട്ട കീർത്തിയെക്കാൾ നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനവും ധനവും അധികമാകുന്നു.

Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, which stand continually before you, and that hear your wisdom.നിന്റെ ഭാര്യമാർ ഭാഗ്യവതികൾ; നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ എപ്പോഴും നിന്നു നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേൾക്കുന്ന ഈ നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

Blessed be the LORD your God, which delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he you king, to do judgment and justice.നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തിൽ ഇരുത്തുവാൻ നിന്നിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ച നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ; യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനെ എന്നേക്കും സ്നേഹിക്കകൊണ്ടു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നെ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.അവൾ രാജാവിന്നു നൂറ്റിരുപതു താലന്ത് പൊന്നും അനവധി സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗവും രത്നവും കൊടുത്തു; ശെബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിന്നു കൊടുത്ത സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗംപോലെ അത്ര വളരെ പിന്നെ ഒരിക്കലും വന്നിട്ടില്ല.

And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.ഓഫീരിൽനിന്നു പൊന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഹീരാമിന്റെ കപ്പലുകൾ ഓഫീരിൽനിന്നു അനവധി ചന്ദനവും രത്നവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.രാജാവു ചന്ദനംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നും രാജധാനിക്കും അഴികളും സംഗീതക്കാർക്കു കിന്നരങ്ങളും വീണകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ചന്ദനമരം ഇന്നുവരെ വന്നിട്ടില്ല, കണ്ടിട്ടുമില്ല.

And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.ശലോമോൻ രാജാവു സ്വമേധയാ ശെബാരാജ്ഞിക്കു രാജൌചിത്യംപോലെ കൊടുത്തതുകൂടാതെ അവൾ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചതുമെല്ലാം ശലോമോൻ രാജാവു അവൾക്കു കൊടുത്തു. അങ്ങനെ അവൾ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുമായി സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,ശലോമോന്നു സഞ്ചാരവ്യാപാരികളാലും വർത്തകന്മാരുടെ കച്ചവടത്താലും സമ്മിശ്രജാതികളുടെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരാലും ദേശാധിപതിമാരാലും വന്നതു കൂടാതെ

Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the trade of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.ആണ്ടുതോറും വന്ന പൊന്നിന്റെ തൂക്കം അറുനൂറ്ററുപത്താറു താലന്തായിരുന്നു.

And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.ശലോമോൻ രാജാവു, അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഇരുനൂറു വൻ പരിച ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഓരോ പരിചെക്കു അറുനൂറുശേക്കൽ പൊന്നു ചെലവായി.

And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ മുന്നൂറു ചെറുപരിചയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഓരോ ചെറു പരിചെക്കു മൂന്നു മാനേ പൊന്നു ചെലവായി; അവയെ രാജാവു ലെബാനോൻ വനഗൃഹത്തിൽ വെച്ചു.

Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.രാജാവു ദന്തംകൊണ്ടു ഒരു വലിയ സിംഹാസനം ഉണ്ടാക്കി തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.സിംഹാസനത്തിന്നു ആറു പതനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സിംഹാസനത്തിന്റെ തലപുറകോട്ടു വളഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; ഇരിപ്പിടത്തിന്റെ ഇരുഭാഗത്തും കൈത്താങ്ങലും കൈത്താങ്ങലിന്നരികെ നില്ക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു സിംഹവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.ആറു പതനത്തിൽ ഇപ്പുറത്തും അപ്പുറത്തുമായി പന്ത്രണ്ടു സിംഹം നിന്നിരുന്നു. ഒരു രാജ്യത്തും ഇങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നില്ല.

And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിന്റെ സകലപാനപാത്രങ്ങളും പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും ലെബാനോൻ വനഗൃഹത്തിലെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളൊക്കെയും തങ്കംകൊണ്ടും ആയിരുന്നു; ഒന്നും വെള്ളികൊണ്ടല്ല; അതിന്നു ശലോമോന്റെ കാലത്തു വിലയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.രാജാവിന്നു സമുദ്രത്തിൽ ഹീരാമിന്റെ കപ്പലുകളോടുകൂടെ തർശീശ് കപ്പലുകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; തർശീശ് കപ്പലുകൾ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കൽ പൊന്നു, വെള്ളി, ആനക്കൊമ്പു, കുരങ്ങു, മയിൽ എന്നിവ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോൻ രാജാവു ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരിലുംവെച്ചു ധനംകൊണ്ടും ജ്ഞാനംകൊണ്ടും മികെച്ചവനായിരുന്നു.

And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.ദൈവം ശലോമോന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ കൊടുത്ത ജ്ഞാനം കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സകലദേശക്കാരും അവന്റെ മുഖദർശനം അന്വേഷിച്ചുവന്നു.

And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തനും ആണ്ടുതോറും താന്താന്റെ കാഴ്ചയായി വെള്ളിപ്പാത്രം, പൊൻ പാത്രം, വസ്ത്രം, ആയുധം, സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗം, കുതിര, കോവർകഴുത എന്നിവ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.ശലോമോൻ രഥങ്ങളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും ശേഖരിച്ചു: അവന്നു ആയിരത്തിനാനൂറു രഥങ്ങളും പന്തീരായിരം കുതിരച്ചേവകരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരെ അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ രഥനഗരങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലും പാർപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.രാജാവു യെരൂശലേമിൽ വെള്ളിയെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു കല്ലുപോലെയും ദേവദാരുവിനെ താഴ്വീതിയിലെ കാട്ടത്തിമരംപോലെയുമാക്കി.

And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.ശലോമോന്നു കുതിരകളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നായിരുന്നു; രാജാവിന്റെ കച്ചവടക്കാർ അവയെ കൂട്ടമായിട്ടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും.

And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.അവർ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു രഥം ഒന്നിന്നു അറുനൂറും കുതിര ഒന്നിന്നു നൂറ്റമ്പതും വെള്ളിശേക്കൽ വില കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങികൊണ്ടുവരും; അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ അവർ ഹിത്യരുടെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും അരാംരാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും.

But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:ശലോമോൻ രാജാവു ഫറവോന്റെ മകളെ കൂടാതെ മോവാബ്യർ, അമ്മോന്യർ, എദോമ്യർ, സീദോന്യർ, ഹിത്യർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ അന്യാജാതിക്കാരത്തികളായ അനേക സ്ത്രീകളെയും സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, All of you shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.നിങ്ങൾക്കു അവരോടു കൂടിക്കലർച്ച അരുതു; അവർക്കു നിങ്ങളോടും കൂടിക്കലർച്ച അരുതു; അവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരിലേക്കു വശീകരിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത അന്യജാതികളിൽനിന്നുള്ളവരെ തന്നേ; അവരോടു ശലോമോൻ സ്നേഹത്താൽ പറ്റിച്ചേർന്നിരുന്നു.

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.അവന്നു എഴുനൂറു കുലീനപത്നികളും മുന്നൂറു വെപ്പാട്ടികളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യമാർ അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ വശീകരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.എങ്ങനെയെന്നാൽ: ശലോമോൻ വയോധികനായപ്പോൾ ഭാര്യമാർ അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അന്യദേവന്മാരിലേക്കു വശീകരിച്ചു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഹൃദയംപോലെ തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നില്ല.

For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.ശലോമോൻ സീദോന്യദേവിയായ അസ്തോരെത്തിനെയും അമ്മോന്യരുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹമായ മിൽക്കോമിനെയും ചെന്നു സേവിച്ചു

And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ യഹോവയെ പൂർണ്ണമായി അനുസരിക്കാതെ ശലോമോൻ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.അന്നു ശലോമോൻ യെരൂശലേമിന്നു എതിരെയുള്ള മലയിൽ മോവാബ്യരുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹമായ കെമോശിന്നും അമ്മോന്യരുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹമായ മോലേക്കിന്നും ഓരോ പൂജാഗിരി പണിതു.

And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാർക്കു ധൂപം കാട്ടിയും ബലികഴിച്ചുംപോന്ന അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളായ സകലഭാര്യമാർക്കും വേണ്ടി അവൻ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു.

And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,തനിക്കു രണ്ടുപ്രാവശ്യം പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകയും അന്യദേവന്മാരെ ചെന്നു സേവിക്കരുതെന്ന കാര്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നോടു കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരുന്ന യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ വിട്ടു ശലോമോൻ തന്റെ ഹൃദയം തിരിക്കയും

And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതു പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കയും ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ അവനോടു കോപിച്ചു.

Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.യഹോവ ശലോമോനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: എന്റെ നിയമവും ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച കല്പനകളും നീ പ്രമാണിച്ചില്ല എന്നുള്ള സംഗതി നിന്റെ പേരിൽ ഇരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ രാജത്വം നിങ്കൽ നിന്നു നിശ്ചയമായി പറിച്ചു നിന്റെ ദാസന്നു കൊടുക്കും.

Notwithstanding in your days I will not do it for David your father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of your son.എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിൻ നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു അതു ചെയ്കയില്ല; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ മകന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു അതിനെ പറിച്ചുകളയും.

Nevertheless I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to your son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.എങ്കിലും രാജത്വം മുഴുവനും പറിച്ചുകളയാതെ എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിൻ നിമിത്തവും ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത യെരൂശലേമിൻ നിമിത്തവും ഒരു ഗോത്രത്തെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മകന്നു കൊടുക്കും.

And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.യഹോവ എദോമ്യനായ ഹദദ് എന്ന ഒരു പ്രതിയോഗിയെ ശലോമോന്റെ നേരെ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ എദോം രാജസന്തതിയിൽ ഉള്ളവൻ ആയിരുന്നു.

For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;ദാവീദ് എദോമ്യരെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചകാലത്തു സേനാധിപതിയായ യോവാബ് പട്ടുപോയവരെ അടക്കംചെയ്‍വാൻ ചെന്നു എദോമിലെ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ ഒക്കെയും നിഗ്രഹിച്ചപ്പോൾ--

(For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)എദോമിലെ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ ഒക്കെയും നിഗ്രഹിക്കുവോളം യോവാബും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അവിടെ ആറുമാസം പാർത്തിരുന്നു--

That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.ഹദദ് എന്നവൻ തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരിൽ ചില എദോമ്യരുമായി മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി; ഹദദ് അന്നു പൈതൽ ആയിരുന്നു.

And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.അവർ മിദ്യാനിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പാറാനിൽ എത്തി; പാറാനിൽനിന്നു ആളുകളെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു മിസ്രയീമിൽ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; അവൻ അവന്നു ഒരു വീടു കൊടുത്തു ആഹാരം കല്പിച്ചു ഒരു ദേശവും കൊടുത്തു.

And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.ഫറവോന്നു ഹദദിനോടു വളരെ ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നി; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ തഹ്പെനേസ്രാജ്ഞിയുടെ സഹോദരിയെ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു.

Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what have you lacked with me, that, behold, you seek to go to yours own country? And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:ദൈവം അവന്റെ നേരെ എല്യാദാവിന്റെ മകനായ രെസോൻ എന്ന മറ്റൊരു പ്രതിയോഗിയെയും എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു; അവൻ സോബാരാജാവായ ഹദദേസർ എന്ന തന്റെ യജമാനനെ വിട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോയിരുന്നു.

And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.ദാവീദ് സോബക്കാരെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ തനിക്കു ആളുകളെ ശേഖരിച്ചു അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു നായകനായ്തീർന്നു; അവർ ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ ചെന്നു അവിടെ പാർത്തു ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ വാണു.

And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.ഹദദ് ചെയ്ത ദോഷം കൂടാതെ ഇവനും ശലോമോന്റെ കാലത്തൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രതിയോഗി ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ വെറുത്തു അരാമിൽ രാജാവായിവാണു.

And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.സെരേദയിൽനിന്നുള്ള എഫ്രയീമ്യനായ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകൻ യൊരോബെയാം എന്ന ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസനും രാജാവിനോടു മത്സരിച്ചു; അവന്റെ അമ്മ സെരൂയാ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു വിധവ ആയിരുന്നു.

And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.അവൻ രാജാവിനോടു മത്സരിപ്പാനുള്ള കാരണം എന്തെന്നാൽ: ശലോമോൻ മില്ലോ പണിതു, തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിന്റെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു.

And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:ആ കാലത്തു ഒരിക്കൽ യൊരോബെയാം യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു വരുമ്പോൾ ശിലോന്യനായ അഹിയാപ്രവാചകൻ വഴിയിൽവെച്ചു അവനെ കണ്ടു; അവൻ ഒരു പുതിയ അങ്കി ധരിച്ചിരുന്നു; രണ്ടുപേരും വയലിൽ തനിച്ചായിരുന്നു.

And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:അഹിയാവു താൻ ധരിച്ചിരുന്ന പുതിയ അങ്കി പിടിച്ചു പന്ത്രണ്ടു ഖണ്ഡമായി കീറി:

And he said to Jeroboam, Take you ten pieces: for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you:യൊരോബെയാമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: പത്തു ഖണ്ഡം നീ എടുത്തുകൊൾക; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ ഞാൻ രാജത്വം ശലോമോന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു പറിച്ചുകീറി, പത്തു ഗോത്രം നിനക്കു തരുന്നു.

(But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിൻ നിമിത്തവും ഞാൻ എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത യെരൂശലേം നഗരം നിമിത്തവും ഒരു ഗോത്രം അവന്നു ഇരിക്കും.

Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:എന്നാൽ രാജത്വം മുഴുവനും ഞാൻ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു എടുക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവനും എന്റെ കല്പനകളെയും ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചവനും ആയ എന്റെ ദാസൻ ദാവീദ് നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവനെ അവന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊക്കെയും പ്രഭുവായി വെച്ചേക്കും.

But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto you, even ten tribes.എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ മകന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ രാജത്വം എടുത്തു നിനക്കു തരും; പത്തു ഗോത്രങ്ങളെ തന്നേ.

And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.എന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത യെരൂശലേംനഗരത്തിൽ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്നു എന്നേക്കും ഒരു ദീപം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മകന്നു ഒരു ഗോത്രത്തെ കൊടുക്കും.

And I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.നീയോ നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ഒക്കെയും വാണു യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

And it shall be, if you will hearken unto all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto you.ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നീ കേട്ടു എന്റെ വഴികളിൽ നടന്നു എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദ് ചെയ്തതു പോലെ എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്താൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും; ഞാൻ ദാവീദിന്നു പണിതതുപോലെ നിനക്കു സ്ഥിരമായോരു ഗൃഹം പണിതു യിസ്രായേലിനെ നിനക്കു തരും.

And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.ദാവീദിന്റെ സന്തതിയെയോ ഞാൻ ഇതു നിമിത്തം താഴ്ത്തും; സദാകാലത്തേക്കല്ലതാനും.

Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.അതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോൻ യൊരോബെയാമിനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ യൊരോബെയാം എഴുന്നേറ്റു മിസ്രയീമിൽ ശീശക്ക്ക് എന്ന മിസ്രയീംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഓടിപ്പോയി; ശലോമോന്റെ മരണംവരെ അവൻ മിസ്രയീമിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.

And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?ശലോമോന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ ജ്ഞാനവും ശലോമോന്റെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.ശലോമോൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലിനെയും വാണകാലം നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു.

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his position.ശലോമോൻ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ രെഹബെയാം അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.രെഹബെയാമിനെ രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ശെഖേമിൽ വന്നിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവനും ശെഖേമിൽ ചെന്നു.

And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;)നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം മിസ്രയീമിൽ അതു കേട്ടാറെ ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു യൊരോബെയാം മിസ്രയീമിൽ ഓടിപ്പോയി അവിടെ പാർത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ

That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spoke unto Rehoboam, saying,അവർ ആളയച്ചു അവനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു--യൊരോബെയാമും യിസ്രായേൽസഭയൊക്കെയും വന്നു രെഹബെയാമിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:

Your father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make you the grievous service of your father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve you.നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ ഭാരമുള്ള നുകം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വെച്ചു; നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ കഠിനവേലയും അവൻ ഞങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഭാരമുള്ള നുകവും നീ ഭാരം കുറെച്ചുതരേണം; എന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെ സേവിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.അവൻ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ പോയി മൂന്നു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു വീണ്ടും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ജനം പോയി.

And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do all of you advise that I may answer this people?രെഹബെയാം രാജാവു തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ശലോമോന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നിരുന്ന വൃദ്ധന്മാരോടു ആലോചിച്ചു: ഈ ജനത്തോടു ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എന്താലോചന പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And they spoke unto him, saying, If you will be a servant unto this people this day, and will serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants for ever.അതിന്നു അവർ അവനോടു: നീ ഇന്നു ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു വഴിപ്പെട്ടു അവരെ സേവിച്ചു അവരോടു നല്ലവാക്കു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവർ എന്നും നിനക്കു ദാസന്മാരായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:എന്നാൽ വൃദ്ധന്മാർ തന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ ആലോചന അവൻ ത്യജിച്ചു, തന്നോടുകൂടെ വളർന്നവരായി തന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നില്ക്കുന്ന യൌവ്വനക്കാരോടു ആലോചിച്ചു:

And he said unto them, What counsel give all of you that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which your father did put upon us lighter?നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നുകം ഭാരം കുറെച്ചു തരേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഈ ജനത്തോടു നാം ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എന്താലോചന പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

And the young men that were grown up with him spoke unto him, saying, Thus shall you speak unto this people that spoke unto you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, but make you it lighter unto us; thus shall you say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.അവനോടുകൂടെ വളർന്നിരുന്ന യൌവ്വനക്കാർ അവനോടു: നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ ഭാരമുള്ള നുകം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വെച്ചു; നീ അതു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഭാരം കുറെച്ചുതരേണമെന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ ഈ ജനത്തോടു: എന്റെ ചെറുവിരൽ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ അരയെക്കാൾ വണ്ണമുള്ളതായിരിക്കും.

And now whereas my father did load you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father has chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.എന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ ഭാരമുള്ള നുകം വെച്ചിരിക്കെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ നുകത്തിന്നു ഭാരം കൂട്ടും; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിങ്ങളെ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു; ഞാനോ തേളുകളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ നീ ഉത്തരം പറയേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.മൂന്നാം ദിവസം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വീണ്ടും വരുവിൻ എന്നു രാജാവു പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ യൊരോബെയാമും സകലജനവും മൂന്നാം ദിവസം രെഹബെയാമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;എന്നാൽ രാജാവു ജനത്തോടു കഠിനമായി ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; വൃദ്ധന്മാർ തന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ ആലോചനയെ അവൻ ത്യജിച്ചു.

And spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.യൌവ്വനക്കാരുടെ ആലോചനപോലെ അവരോടു: എന്റെ അപ്പൻ ഭാരമുള്ള നുകം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വെച്ചു; ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളുടെ നുകത്തിന്നു ഭാരം കൂട്ടും; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിങ്ങളെ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു; ഞാനോ തേളുകളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.ഇങ്ങനെ രാജാവു ജനത്തിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടില്ല; യഹോവ ശിലോന്യനായ അഹിയാവുമുഖാന്തരം നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ കാര്യം യഹോവയുടെ ഹിതത്താൽ സംഭവിച്ചു.

So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to yours own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.രാജാവു തങ്ങളുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേൾക്കയില്ലെന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ജനം രാജാവിനോടു: ദാവീദിങ്കൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു ഓഹരി ഉള്ളു? യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകങ്കൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അവകാശമില്ലല്ലോ; യിസ്രായേലേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിലേക്കു പൊയ്ക്കൊൾവിൻ; ദാവീദേ, നിന്റെ ഗൃഹം നോക്കിക്കൊൾക എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു, യിസ്രായേൽ തങ്ങളുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിലേക്കു പോയി.

But as for the children of Israel which dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്ന യിസ്രായേല്യർക്കോ രെഹബെയാം രാജാവായ്തീർന്നു.

Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.പിന്നെ രെഹബെയാംരാജാവു ഊഴിയവേലെക്കു മേൽവിചാരകനായ അദോരാമിനെ അയച്ചു; എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; രെഹബെയാംരാജാവോ വേഗത്തിൽ രഥം കയറി യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോന്നു.

And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.യൊരോബെയാം മടങ്ങിവന്നു എന്നു യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവർ ആളയച്ചു അവനെ സഭയിലേക്കു വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവാക്കി; യെഹൂദാഗോത്രം മാത്രം അല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരും ദാവീദ് ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്നില്ല.

And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.രെഹബെയാം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വന്നശേഷം യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു രാജത്വം ശലോമോന്റെ മകനായ രെഹബെയാമിന്നു വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ യെഹൂദാഗൃഹം മുഴുവനിലും ബെന്യാമീന്റെ ഗോത്രത്തിലുംനിന്നു ശ്രേഷ്ഠയോദ്ധാക്കളായ ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തെണ്പതിനായിരംപേരെ ശേഖരിച്ചു.

But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,എന്നാൽ ദൈവപുരുഷനായ ശെമയ്യാവിന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,നീ ശലോമോന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ രെഹബെയാമിനോടും യെഹൂദയുടെയും ബെന്യാമീന്റെയും സകലഗൃഹത്തോടും ശേഷം ജനത്തോടും പറക; നിങ്ങൾ പുറപ്പെടരുതു;

Thus says the LORD, All of you shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്കയുമരുതു; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുവിൻ; ഈ കാര്യം എന്റെ ഹിതത്താൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിപ്രകാരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവർ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു അനുസരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.അനന്തരം യൊരോബെയാം എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിൽ ശെഖേം പണിതു അവിടെ പാർത്തു. അവൻ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പെനൂവേലും പണിതു.

If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people return unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.ഈ ജനം യെരൂശലേമിൽ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ യാഗം കഴിപ്പാൻ ചെന്നാൽ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയം യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ രെഹബെയാം എന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനങ്കലേക്കു തിരികയും അവർ എന്നെ കൊന്നു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ രെഹബെയാമിന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേരുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.ആകയാൽ രാജാവു ആലോചിച്ചു പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു രണ്ടു കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നിങ്ങൾ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പോയതു മതി; യിസ്രായേലേ, ഇതാ നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.അവൻ ഒന്നിനെ ബേഥേലിലും മറ്റേതിനെ ദാനിലും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.ഈ കാര്യം പാപഹേതുവായിത്തീർന്നു; ജനം ഒന്നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ ദാൻവരെ ചെന്നു.

And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the low of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.അവൻ പൂജാഗിരിക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി സർവ്വജനത്തിൽനിന്നും ലേവ്യരല്ലാത്തവരെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായി നിയമിച്ചു.

And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.യെഹൂദയിൽ ആചരിച്ചുവന്ന ഉത്സവംപോലെ യൊരോബെയാം എട്ടാം മാസം പതിനഞ്ചാം തിയ്യതി ഒരു ഉത്സവം നിശ്ചയിച്ചു യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ ചെന്നു; താൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ കാളക്കുട്ടികൾക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ബേഥേലിലും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു; താൻ നിയമിച്ച പൂജാഗിരിപുരോഹിതന്മാരെ അവൻ ബേഥേലിൽ ആക്കി.

So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.അവൻ സ്വമേധയായി നിശ്ചയിച്ച എട്ടാം മാസം പതിനഞ്ചാം തിയ്യതി താൻ ബേഥേലിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു ഒരു ഉത്സവം നിയമിച്ചു, പീഠത്തിന്നരികെ ചെന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടി.

And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.യൊരോബെയാം ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാൻ പീഠത്തിന്നരികെ നില്ക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ ഒരു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനയാൽ യെഹൂദയിൽ നിന്നു ബേഥേലിലേക്കു വന്നു.

And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus says the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon you shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon you, and men's bones shall be burnt upon you.അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനയാൽ യാഗപീഠത്തോടു: യാഗപീഠമേ, യാഗപീഠമേ, യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ദാവീദ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു യോശീയാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു മകൻ ജനിക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ മേൽ ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്ന പൂജാഗിരിപുരോഹിതന്മാരെ നിന്റെമേൽ വെച്ചു അറുക്കയും മനുഷ്യാസ്ഥികളെ നിന്റെമേൽ ചുട്ടുകളകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.ദൈവപുരുഷൻ ബേഥേലിലെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞ വചനം യൊരോബെയാംരാജാവു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവൻ യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നു കൈ നീട്ടി: അവനെ പിടിപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ നേരെ നിട്ടിയ കൈ വരണ്ടുപോയിട്ടു തിരികെ മടക്കുവാൻ കഴിവില്ലാതെ ആയി.

The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.ദൈവപുരുഷൻ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനയാൽ കൊടുത്തിരുന്ന അടയാളപ്രകാരം യാഗപീഠം പിളർന്നു ചാരം യാഗപീഠത്തിൽനിന്നു തൂകിപ്പോയി.

And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Implore now the face of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.രാജാവു ദൈവപുരുഷനോടു: നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു കൃപെക്കായി അപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്റെ കൈമടങ്ങുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ദൈവപുരുഷൻ യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; എന്നാറെ രാജാവിന്റെ കൈ മടങ്ങി മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ആയി.

And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.രാജാവു ദൈവപുരുഷനോടു: നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ അരമനയിൽ വന്നു അല്പം ആശ്വസിച്ചുകൊൾക; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഒരു സമ്മാനം തരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the man of God said unto the king, If you will give me half yours house, I will not go in with you, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:ദൈവപുരുഷൻ രാജാവിനോടു: നിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ പകുതി തന്നാലും ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ വരികയില്ല; ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു വെച്ചു ഞാൻ അപ്പം തിന്നുകയില്ല, വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way that you came.നീ അപ്പം തിന്നരുതു, വെള്ളം കുടിക്കരുതു; പോയ വഴിയായി മടങ്ങിവരികയും അരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളപ്പാടായി എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ബേഥേലിലേക്കു വന്ന വഴിയായി മടങ്ങാതെ മറ്റൊരുവഴിയായി പോയി.

Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.ബേഥേലിൽ വൃദ്ധനായൊരു പ്രവാചകൻ പാർത്തിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ വന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ ബേഥേലിൽ ചെയ്ത കാര്യമൊക്കെയും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവൻ രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളും അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനെ അറിയിച്ചു.

And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.അവരുടെ അപ്പൻ അവരോടു: അവൻ ഏതു വഴിക്കു പോയി എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നു വന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ പോയ വഴി അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon,അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടു: കഴുതെക്കു കോപ്പിട്ടുതരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, അവർ കഴുതെക്കു കോപ്പിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു; അവൻ അതിന്റെ പുറത്തു കയറി ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു;

And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Are you the man of God that came from Judah? And he said, I am.അവൻ ഒരു കരുവേലകത്തിൻ കീഴെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു: നീ യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നു വന്ന ദൈവപുരുഷനോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.അവൻ അതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനോടു: നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, I may not return with you, nor go in with you: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place:അതിന്നു അവൻ: എനിക്കു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരികയോ നിന്റെ വിട്ടിൽ കയറുകയോ ചെയ്തുകൂടാ; ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ അപ്പം തിന്നുകയില്ല വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയുമില്ല.

For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, You shall eat no bread nor drink water there, nor return to go by the way that you came.നീ അവിടെവെച്ചു അപ്പം തിന്നരുതു, വെള്ളം കുടിക്കരുതു, പോയ വഴിയായി മടങ്ങിവരികയും അരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളപ്പാടായി എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

He said unto him, I am a prophet also as you are; and an angel spoke unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with you into yours house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.അതിന്നു അവൻ: ഞാനും നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ആകുന്നു; അപ്പം തിന്നുകയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവനെ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരിക എന്നു ഒരു ദൂതൻ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനയാൽ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതോ ഭോഷ്കായിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back:അവൻ ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന പ്രവാചകന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.

And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus says the LORD, Forasmuch as you have disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and have not kept the commandment which the LORD your God commanded you,അവർ യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നു വന്ന ദൈവപുരുഷനോടു: നീ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം മറുത്തു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന

But came back, and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to you, Eat no bread, and drink no water; your carcass shall not come unto the tomb of your fathers.കല്പന പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ അപ്പം തിന്നുകയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യരുതെന്നു അവൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച സ്ഥലത്തു നീ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അപ്പം തിന്നുകയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ശവം നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറയിൽ വരികയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, to know, for the prophet whom he had brought back.അപ്പം തിന്നുകയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്തശേഷം അവൻ താൻ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന പ്രവാചകന്നുവേണ്ടി കഴുതെക്കു കോപ്പിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു;

And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcass was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcass.അവൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ വഴിയിൽ ഒരു സിംഹം അവനെ കണ്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നു; അവന്റെ ശവം വഴിയിൽ കിടന്നു, കഴുത അതിന്റെ അരികെ നിന്നു; സിംഹവും ശവത്തിന്റെ അരികെ നിന്നു.

And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcass cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcass: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.വഴിപോകുന്ന ആളുകൾ ശവം വഴിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നതും ശവത്തിന്റെ അരികെ സിംഹം നില്ക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു; വൃദ്ധനായ പ്രവാചകൻ പാർക്കുന്ന പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.

And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD has delivered him unto the lion, which has torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke unto him.അവനെ വഴിയിൽ നിന്നു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വന്ന പ്രവാചകൻ അതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ: അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം മറുത്ത ദൈവപുരുഷൻ തന്നേ; യഹോവ അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം യഹോവ അവനെ സിംഹത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചു; അതു അവനെ കീറി കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he spoke to his sons, saying, Saddle me the ass. And they saddled him.പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടു: കഴുതെക്കു കോപ്പിട്ടുതരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he went and found his carcass cast in the way, and the ass and the lion standing by the carcass: the lion had not eaten the carcass, nor torn the ass.അവർ കോപ്പിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു. അവൻ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ ശവം വഴിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നതും ശവത്തിന്റെ അരികെ കഴുതയും സിംഹവും നില്ക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു; സിംഹം ശവത്തെ തിന്നുകയോ കഴുതയെ കീറിക്കളകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല.

And the prophet took up the carcass of the man of God, and laid it upon the ass, and brought it back: and the old prophet came to the city, to mourn and to bury him.പ്രവാചകൻ ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ ശവം എടുത്തു കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു വെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; വൃദ്ധനായ പ്രവാചകൻ തന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ എത്തി അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിച്ചു അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

And he laid his carcass in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, Alas, my brother!അവന്റെ ശവം അവൻ തന്റെ സ്വന്ത കല്ലറയിൽ വെച്ചിട്ടു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു: അയ്യോ എന്റെ സഹോദരാ, എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു അവർ വിലാപം കഴിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spoke to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the tomb wherein the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones:അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തശേഷം അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടു: ഞാൻ മരിച്ചശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ദൈവപുരുഷനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന കല്ലറയിൽ തന്നേ അടക്കം ചെയ്യേണം; അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളുടെ അരികെ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളും ഇടേണം.

For the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass.അവൻ ബേഥേലിലെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും ശമര്യപട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ സകലപൂജാഗിരിക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾക്കും വിരോധമായി യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞ വചനം നിശ്ചയമായി സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the low of the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.ഈ കാര്യം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടും യൊരോബെയാം തന്റെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുതിരിയാതെ പിന്നെയും സർവ്വജനത്തിൽനിന്നും പൂജാഗിരിപുരോഹിതന്മാരെ നിയമിച്ചു; തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവരെ കരപൂരണം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; അവർ പൂജാഗിരിപുരോഹിതന്മാരായ്തീർന്നു.

And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.യൊരോബെയാംഗൃഹത്തെ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചു മുടിച്ചുകളയത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഈ കാര്യം അവർക്കു പാപമായ്തീർന്നു.
