Isaiah 7

And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.ഉസ്സീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോഥാമിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആഹാസിന്റെ കാലത്തു അരാമ്യരാജാവായ രെസീനും രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായി യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ പേക്കഹൂം യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്‍വാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു; അതിനെ പിടിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലതാനും.

And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.അരാം എഫ്രയീമിനോടു യോജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ദാവീദ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു അറിവുകിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ഹൃദയവും അവന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയവും കാട്ടിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ കാറ്റുകൊണ്ടു ഉലയുമ്പോലെ ഉലഞ്ഞുപോയി.

Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the launderer's field;അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ യെശയ്യാവോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നീയും നിന്റെ മകൻ ശെയാർ-യാശൂബും അലക്കുകാരന്റെ വയലിലെ പെരുവഴിക്കൽ മേലെക്കുളത്തിന്റെ നീർപാത്തിയുടെ അറ്റത്തു ആഹാസിനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ചെന്നു അവനോടു പറയേണ്ടതു:

And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക: സാവധാനമായിരിക്ക; പുകയുന്ന ഈ രണ്ടു മുറിക്കൊള്ളിനിമിത്തം അരാമിന്റെയും രെസീന്റെയും രെമല്യാവിൻ മകന്റെയും ഉഗ്രകോപംനിമിത്തം നീ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നിന്റെ ധൈര്യം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകയുമരുതു.

Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against you, saying,നാം യെഹൂദയുടെ നേരെ ചെന്നു അതിനെ വിഷമിപ്പിച്ചു മതിൽ ഇടിച്ചു കടന്നു താബെയലിന്റെ മകനെ അവിടെ രാജാവായി വാഴിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:അരാമും എഫ്രയീമും രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനും നിന്റെ നേരെ ദുരാലോചന ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു

Thus says the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അതു നടക്കയില്ല, സാധിക്കയുമില്ല.

For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.അരാമിന്നു തല ദമ്മേശെക്; ദമ്മേശക്കിന്നു തല രെസീൻ അറുപത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരത്തിന്നകം എഫ്രയീം ജനമായിരിക്കാതവണ്ണം തകർന്നു പോകും.

And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If all of you will not believe, surely all of you shall not be established.എഫ്രയീമിന്നു തല ശമർയ്യ; ശമർയ്യെക്കു തല രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ; നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ സ്ഥിരവാസവുമില്ല.

Moreover the LORD spoke again unto Ahaz, saying,യഹോവ പിന്നെയും ആഹാസിനോടു:

Ask you a sign of the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു താഴെ പാതാളത്തിലോ മീതെ ഉയരത്തിലോ ഒരു അടയാളം ചോദിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചതിന്നു ആഹാസ്:

But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കയില്ല, യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കയും ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Hear all of you now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will all of you weary my God also?അതിന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: ദാവീദ്ഗൃഹമേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ; മനുഷ്യരെ മുഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു പോരാഞ്ഞിട്ടോ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ദൈവത്തെക്കൂടെ മുഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു?

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.അതു കൊണ്ടു കർത്താവു തന്നേ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു അടയാളം തരും: കന്യക ഗർഭിണിയായി ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവന്നു ഇാമ്മനൂവേൽ എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്കും.

Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.തിന്മ തള്ളി നന്മ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പാൻ പ്രായമാകുംവരെ അവൻ തൈരും തേനുംകൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവിക്കും.

For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that you abhor shall be forsaken of both her kings.തിന്മ തള്ളി നന്മ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പാൻ ബാലന്നു പ്രായമാകുംമുമ്പെ, നീ വെറുക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെയും ദേശം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും.

The LORD shall bring upon you, and upon your people, and upon your father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.യഹോവ നിന്റെമേലും നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്മേലും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്മേലും എഫ്രയീം യെഹൂദയെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞ നാൾമുതൽ വന്നിട്ടില്ലാത്തൊരു കാലം വരുത്തും; അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെ തന്നേ.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.അന്നാളിൽ യഹോവ മിസ്രയീമിലെ നദികളുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നു കൊതുകിനെയും അശ്ശൂർദേശത്തുനിന്നു തേനീച്ചയെയും ചൂളകുത്തി വിളിക്കും.

And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.അവ ഒക്കെയും വന്നു ശൂന്യമായ താഴ്വരകളിലും പാറപ്പിളർപ്പുകളിലും എല്ലാ മുൾപടർപ്പുകളിലും എല്ലാ മേച്ചൽ പുറങ്ങളിലും പറ്റും

In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.അന്നാളിൽ കർത്താവു നദിക്കു അക്കരെനിന്നു കൂലിക്കു വാങ്ങിയ ക്ഷൌരക്കത്തികൊണ്ടു, അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ, തലയും കാലും ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യും; അതു താടിയുംകൂടെ നീക്കും.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;അന്നാളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവിനെയും രണ്ടു ആട്ടിനെയും വളർത്തും.

And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.അവയെ കറന്നു കിട്ടുന്ന പാലിന്റെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു അവൻ തൈരു തന്നേ കൊറ്റുകഴിക്കും; ദേശത്തു ശേഷിച്ചരിക്കുന്ന ഏവരുടെയും ആഹാരം തൈരും തേനും ആയിരിക്കും.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silver coins, it shall even be for briers and thorns.അന്നാളിൽ ആയിരം വെള്ളിക്കാശു വിലയുള്ള ആയിരം മുന്തിരിവള്ളി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സ്ഥലമൊക്കെയും മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും പിടിച്ചുകിടക്കും.

With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.ദേശമൊക്കെയും മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും പിടിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നതിനാൽ മനുഷ്യർ അമ്പും വില്ലും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമേ അവിടേക്കു ചെല്ലുകയുള്ളു.

²⁵

And on all hills that shall be dug with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending out of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.തൂമ്പാകൊണ്ടു കിളെച്ചുവന്ന എല്ലാമലകളിലും മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും പേടിച്ചിട്ടു ആരും പോകയില്ല; അതു കാളകളെ അഴിച്ചുവിടുവാനും ആടുകൾ ചവിട്ടിക്കളവാനും മാത്രം ഉതകും.

Isaiah 8

Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take you a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: നീ ഒരു വലിയ പലക എടുത്തു, സാമാന്യ അക്ഷരത്തിൽ: മഹേർ-ശാലാൽ ഹാശ്-ബസ് എന്നു എഴുതുക.

And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.ഞാൻ ഊരിയാപുരോഹിതനെയും യെബെരെഖ്യാവിൻ മകനായ സഖർയ്യാവെയും എനിക്കു വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷികളാക്കിവെക്കും.

And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; അവൾ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. യഹോവ എന്നോടു: അവന്നു മഹേർ-ശാലാൽ ഹാശ്-ബസ് എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്ക;

For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.ഈ കുട്ടിക്കു അപ്പാ, അമ്മേ എന്നു വിളിപ്പാൻ പ്രായമുകുംമുമ്പെ ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ ധനവും ശമർയ്യയിലെ കൊള്ളയും അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോകും എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

The LORD spoke also unto me again, saying,യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Forasmuch as this people refuses the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;ഈ ജനം സാവധാനത്തോടെ ഒഴുകുന്ന ശീലോഹാവെള്ളത്തെ നിരസിച്ചു രെസീനിലും രെമല്യാവിൻ മകനിലും സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:അതുകാരണത്താൽ തന്നേ, യഹോവ നദിയിലെ ബലമേറിയ പെരുവെള്ളത്തെ, അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ സകലമഹത്വത്തെയും തന്നേ, അവരുടെമേൽ വരുത്തും; അതു അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ തോടുകളിലും പൊങ്ങി അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ കരകളെയും കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകും.

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.അതു യെഹൂദയിലേക്കു കടന്നു കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി കഴുത്തോളം എത്തും; അതിന്റെ വിടർന്ന ചിറകു, ഇമ്മാനൂവേലേ, നിന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ വീതിയെ മൂടും.

Associate yourselves, O all of you people, and all of you shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all you of far countries: gird yourselves, and all of you shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and all of you shall be broken in pieces.ജാതികളേ, കലഹിപ്പിൻ; തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ! സകല ദൂരദിക്കുകാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; അര കെട്ടിക്കൊൾവിൻ; തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ. അര കെട്ടിക്കൊൾവിൻ, തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ.

Take counsel together, and it shall come to nothing; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; അതു നിഷ്ഫലമായിത്തീരും; കാര്യം പറഞ്ഞുറെപ്പിൻ; സാദ്ധ്യം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടു.

For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴിയിൽ നടക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Say all of you not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear all of you their fear, nor be afraid.ഈ ജനം കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു എന്നു പറയുന്നതിന്നൊക്കെയും കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയരുതു; അവർ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതിനെ നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു, ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകയുമരുതു.

Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പിൻ; അവൻ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭയവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭീതിയും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.

And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a animal trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.എന്നാൽ അവൻ ഒരു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരമായിരിക്കും; എങ്കിലും യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്നു രണ്ടിന്നും അവൻ ഒരു ഇടർച്ചക്കല്ലും തടങ്ങൽപാറയും യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികൾക്കു ഒരു കുടുക്കും കണിയും ആയിരിക്കും.

And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.പലരും അതിന്മേൽ തട്ടിവീണു തകർന്നുപോകയും കണിയിൽ കുടുങ്ങി പിടിപെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

¹⁶

Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.സാക്ഷ്യം പൊതിഞ്ഞുകെട്ടുക; എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉപദേശം മുദ്രയിട്ടു വെക്കുക.

¹⁷

And I will wait upon the LORD, that hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.ഞാനോ യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു തന്റെ മുഖം മറെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ യഹോവെക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കയും പ്രത്യാശിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwells in mount Zion.ഇതാ, ഞാനും യഹോവ എനിക്കു തന്ന മക്കളും സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ അധിവസിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയാൽ യിസ്രായേലിൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mumble: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന്മാരോടു ചിലെക്കുകയും ജപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരായ ലക്ഷണവാദികളോടും അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പിൻ എന്നു അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ -- ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തോടല്ലയോ ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതു? ജീവനുള്ളവർക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ചവരോടോ ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതു?

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.ഉപദേശത്തിന്നും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നും വരുവിൻ! അവർ ഈ വാക്കുപോലെ പറയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ -- അവർക്കു അരുണോദയം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.അവർ ഏറ്റവും വലഞ്ഞും വിശന്നും ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകും; അവർക്കു വിശക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ മുഷിഞ്ഞു തങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവിനെയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെയും ശപിച്ചു മുഖം മേലോട്ടു തിരിക്കും.

And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.അവർ ഭൂമിയിൽ നോക്കുമ്പോൾ കഷ്ടതയും അന്ധകാരവും സങ്കടമുള്ള തിമിരവും കാണും; കൂരിരുട്ടിലേക്കു അവരെ തള്ളിക്കളയും.

Isaiah 9

Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.എന്നാൽ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഇരുന്ന ദേശത്തിന്നു തിമിരം നിൽക്കയില്ല; പണ്ടു അവൻ സെബൂലൂൻ ദേശത്തിന്നു നഫ്താലിദേശത്തിന്നും ഹീനത വരുത്തിയെങ്കിലും പിന്നത്തേതിൽ അവൻ കടൽവഴിയായി യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുള്ള ജാതികളുടെ മണ്ഡലത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം വരുത്തും.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined.ഇരുട്ടിൽ നടന്ന ജനം വലിയൊരു വെളിച്ചം കണ്ടു; അന്ധതമസ്സുള്ള ദേശത്തു പാർത്തവരുടെ മേൽ പ്രകാശം ശോഭിച്ചു.

You have multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before you according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.നീ വർദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ജാതിയെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവർ നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്ന സന്തോഷം കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തിലെ സന്തോഷംപോലെയും കൊള്ളപങ്കിടുമ്പോൾ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നതു പോലെയും ആകുന്നു.

For you have broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.അവൻ ചുമക്കുന്ന നുകവും അവന്റെ ചുമലിലെ കോലും അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന്റെ വടിയും മിദ്യാന്റെ നാളിലെപ്പോലെ നീ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.ഒച്ചയോടെ ചവിട്ടി നടക്കുന്ന യോദ്ധാവിന്റെ ചെരിപ്പൊക്കെയും രക്തംപിരണ്ട വസ്ത്രവും വിറകുപോലെ തീക്കു ഇരയായിത്തീരും.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.നമുക്കു ഒരു ശിശു ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നമുക്കു ഒരു മകൻ നല്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ആധിപത്യം അവന്റെ തോളിൽ ഇരിക്കും; അവന്നു അത്ഭുതമന്ത്രി, വീരനാം ദൈവം, നിത്യപിതാവു, സമാധാന പ്രഭു എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ വർദ്ധനെക്കും സമാധാനത്തിന്നും അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിലും അവന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിലും ഇന്നുമുതൽ എന്നെന്നേക്കും അവൻ അതിനെ ന്യായത്തോടും നീതിയോടും കൂടെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു നിലനിർത്തും; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ തീക്ഷ്ണത അതിനെ നിവർത്തിക്കും.

The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it has lighted upon Israel.കർത്താവു യാക്കോബിൽ ഒരു വചനം അയച്ചു; അതു യിസ്രായേലിന്മേൽ വീണും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,ഇഷ്ടികകൾ വീണുപോയി എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങൾ വെട്ടുകല്ലുകൊണ്ടു പണിയും; കാട്ടത്തികളെ വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങൾ അവെക്കു പകരം ദേവദാരുക്കളെ നട്ടുകൊള്ളും

The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഡംഭത്തോടും ഹൃദയഗർവ്വത്തോടുംകൂടെ പറയുന്ന എഫ്രയീമും ശമർയ്യനിവാസികളുമായ ജനമൊക്കെയും അതു അറിയും.

Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ രെസീന്റെ വൈരികളെ അവന്റെ നേരെ ഉയർത്തി, അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ഇളക്കിവിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.അരാമ്യർ കിഴക്കും ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ പടിഞ്ഞാറും തന്നേ; അവർ യിസ്രായേലിനെ വായ് പിളർന്നു വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും. ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.

For the people turns not unto him that strikes them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.എന്നിട്ടും ജനം തങ്ങളെ അടിക്കുന്നവങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നില്ല; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു തലയും വാലും പനമ്പട്ടയും പോട്ടപ്പുല്ലും ഒരു ദിവസത്തിൽ തന്നേ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail.മൂപ്പനും മൂന്യപുരുഷനും തന്നേ തല; അസത്യം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകൻ തന്നേ വാൽ.

For the leaders of this people cause them to go astray; and they that are led of them are destroyed.ഈ ജനത്തെ നടത്തുന്നവർ അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; അവരാൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നവർ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

Therefore the LORD shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.അതുകൊണ്ടു കർത്താവു അവരുടെ യൌവനക്കാരിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കയില്ല; അവരുടെ അനാഥന്മാരോടും വിധവമാരോടും അവന്നു കരുണ തോന്നുകയുമില്ല; എല്ലാവരും വഷളന്മാരും ദുഷ്കർമ്മികളും ആകുന്നു; എല്ലാവായും ഭോഷത്വം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.

For wickedness burns as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.ദുഷ്ടത തീപോലെ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നു; അതു പറക്കാരയും മുള്ളും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; വനത്തിലെ പള്ളക്കാടുകളിൽ കത്തുന്നു; പുകത്തൂണുകളായി ഉരുണ്ടുപൊങ്ങും.

Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ കോപംനിമിത്തം ദേശം ദഹിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ജനവും തീക്കു ഇരയായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഒരുത്തനും തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നില്ല.

And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:ഒരുത്തൻ വലത്തുഭാഗം കടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടും വിശന്നിരിക്കും; ഇടത്തുഭാഗവും തിന്നും; തൃപ്തിവരികയുമില്ല; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയുന്നു.

Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.മനശ്ശെ എഫ്രയീമിനെയും എഫ്രയീം മനശ്ശെയെയും തന്നേ; അവർ ഇരുവരും യെഹൂദെക്കു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.
