Job 22

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,അതിന്നു തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?മനുഷ്യൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഉപകാരമായിവരുമോ? ജ്ഞാനിയായവൻ തനിക്കു തന്നേ ഉപകരിക്കേയുള്ളു.

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that you are righteous? or is it gain to him, that you make your ways perfect?നീ നീതിമാനായാൽ സർവ്വശക്തന്നു പ്രയോജനമുണ്ടോ? നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നതിനാൽ അവന്നു ലാഭമുണ്ടോ?

Will he reprove you for fear of you? will he enter with you into judgment?നിന്റെ ഭക്തിനിമിത്തമോ അവൻ നിന്നെ ശാസിക്കയും നിന്നെ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിൽ വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു?

Is not your wickedness great? and yours iniquities infinite?നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വലിയതല്ലയോ? നിന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾക്കു അന്തവുമില്ല.

For you have taken a pledge from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.നിന്റെ സഹോദരനോടു നീ വെറുതെ പണയം വാങ്ങി, നഗ്നന്മാരുടെ വസ്ത്രം ഉരിഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

You have not given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.ക്ഷീണിച്ചവന്നു നീ വെള്ളം കൊടുത്തില്ല; വിശന്നവന്നു നീ ആഹാരം മുടക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.കയ്യൂറ്റക്കാരന്നോ ദേശം കൈവശമായി, മാന്യനായവൻ അതിൽ പാർത്തു.

You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.വിധവമാരെ നീ വെറുങ്കയ്യായി അയച്ചു; അനാഥന്മാരുടെ ഭുജങ്ങളെ നീ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Therefore snares are round about you, and sudden fear troubles you;അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ചുറ്റും കണികൾ ഇരിക്കുന്നു. പെട്ടെന്നു ഭയം നിന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

Or darkness, that you can not see; and abundance of waters cover you.അല്ല, നീ അന്ധകാരത്തെയും നിന്നെ മൂടുന്ന പെരുവെള്ളത്തെയും കണുന്നില്ലയോ?

Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!ദൈവം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗോന്നതത്തിൽ ഇല്ലയോ? നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ എത്ര ഉയർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കുക.

And you says, How does God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?എന്നാൽ നീ: ദൈവം എന്തറിയുന്നു? കൂരിരുട്ടിൽ അവൻ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുമോ?

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he sees not; and he walks in the circuit of heaven.കാണാതവണ്ണം മേഘങ്ങൾ അവന്നു മറ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകാശമണ്ഡലത്തിൽ അവൻ ഉലാവുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

Have you marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യർ നടന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പുരാതനമാർഗ്ഗം നീ പ്രമാണിക്കുമോ?

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflowed with a flood:കാലം തികയും മുമ്പെ അവർ പിടിപെട്ടുപോയി; അവരുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനം നദിപോലെ ഒഴുകിപ്പോയി.

Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?അവർ ദൈവത്തോടു: ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോക; സർവ്വശക്തൻ ഞങ്ങളോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.അവനോ അവരുടെ വീടുകളെ നന്മകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന എന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.നീതിമാന്മാർ കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവൻ അവരെ പരിഹസിച്ചു:

Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumes.ഞങ്ങളുടെ എതിരാളികൾ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയി; അവരുടെ ശേഷിപ്പു തീക്കിരയായി എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

²¹

Acquaint now yourself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto you.നീ അവനോടിണങ്ങി സമാധാനമായിരിക്ക; അതിനാൽ നിനക്കു നന്മ വരും.

Receive, I pray you, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in yours heart.അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു ഉപദേശം കൈക്കൊൾക; അവന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിക്ക.

If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up, you shall put away iniquity far from your tabernacles.സർവ്വശക്തങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞാൽ നീ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിക്കും; നീതികേടു നിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അകറ്റിക്കളയും.

Then shall you lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.നിന്റെ പൊന്നു പൊടിയിലും ഓഫീർതങ്കം തോട്ടിലെ കല്ലിൻ ഇടയിലും ഇട്ടുകളക.

²⁵

Yea, the Almighty shall be your defence, and you shall have plenty of silver.അപ്പോൾ സർവ്വശക്തൻ നിന്റെ പൊന്നും നിനക്കു വെള്ളിവാളവും ആയിരിക്കും.

²⁶

For then shall you have your delight in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face unto God.അന്നു നീ സർവ്വശക്തനിൽ പ്രമോദിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു നിന്റെ മുഖം ഉയർത്തും.

²⁷

You shall make your prayer unto him, and he shall hear you, and you shall pay your vows.നീ അവനോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേൾക്കും; നീ നിന്റെ നേർച്ചകളെ കഴിക്കും.

You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto you: and the light shall shine upon your ways.നീ ഒരു കാര്യം നിരൂപിക്കും; അതു നിനക്കു സാധിക്കും; നിന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വെളിച്ചം പ്രകാശിക്കും.

When men are cast down, then you shall say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.നിന്നെ താഴ്ത്തുമ്പോൾ ഉയർച്ച എന്നു നീ പറയും; താഴ്മയുള്ളവനെ അവൻ രക്ഷിക്കും.

³⁰

He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of yours hands.നിർദ്ദോഷിയല്ലാത്തവനെപ്പോലും അവൻ വിടുവിക്കും; നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ വെടിപ്പിനാൽ അവൻ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടും.

Job 23

Then Job answered and said,അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.ഇന്നും എന്റെ സങ്കടം കൊടിയതാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ ഞരക്കത്തിന്മേൽ ഭാരമാകുന്നു.

Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!അവനെ എവിടെ കാണുമെന്നറിഞ്ഞെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കൽ ഞാൻ ചെല്ലുമായിരുന്നു.

I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ എന്റെ ന്യായം വിവരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ന്യായവാദം കോരിച്ചൊരിയുമായിരുന്നു.

I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.അവന്റെ ഉത്തരം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു; അവൻ എന്തു പറയുമെന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.

Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.അവൻ ബലാധിക്യത്തോടെ എന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുമോ? ഇല്ല; അവൻ എന്നെ ആദരിക്കേയുള്ളു.

There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.അവിടെ നേരുള്ളവൻ അവനോടു വാദിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഞാൻ സദാകാലത്തേക്കും എന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.

Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:ഞാൻ കിഴക്കോട്ടു ചെന്നാൽ അവൻ അവിടെ ഇല്ല; പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു ചെന്നാൽ അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.

On the left hand, where he does work, but I cannot behold him: he hides himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:വടക്കു അവൻ പ്രവർത്തിക്കയിൽ നോക്കീട്ടു അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ല; തെക്കോട്ടു അവൻ തിരിയുന്നു; അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ലതാനും.

But he knows the way that I take: when he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നടക്കുന്ന വഴി അവൻ അറിയുന്നു; എന്നെ ശോധന കഴിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ പൊന്നുപോലെ പുറത്തു വരും.

My foot has held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.എന്റെ കാലടി അവന്റെ ചുവടു തുടർന്നു ചെല്ലുന്നു; ഞാൻ വിട്ടുമാറാതെ അവന്റെ വഴി പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.

Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.ഞാൻ അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ കല്പന വിട്ടു പിന്മാറീട്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ വായലിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ആഹാരത്തെക്കാൾ സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desires, even that he does.അവനോ അനന്യൻ; അവനെ തടുക്കുന്നതു ആർ? തിരുവുള്ളത്തിന്റെ താല്പര്യം അവൻ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും.

¹⁴

For he performs the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.എനിക്കു നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു അവൻ നിവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പലതും അവന്റെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ടു.

Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവന്റെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിങ്കൽ ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നു; ഓർത്തുനോക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

For God makes my heart soft, and the Almighty troubles me:ദൈവം എനിക്കു ധൈര്യക്ഷയം വരുത്തി, സർവ്വശക്തൻ എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither has he covered the darkness from my face.ഞാൻ പരവശനായിരിക്കുന്നതു അന്ധകാരം നിമിത്തമല്ല, കൂരിരുട്ടു എന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മൂടുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമല്ല.

Job 24

Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?സർവ്വശക്തൻ ശിക്ഷാസമയങ്ങളെ നിയമിക്കാത്തതും അവന്റെ ഭക്തന്മാർ അവന്റെ വിസ്താര ദിവസങ്ങളെ കാണാതിരിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.ചിലർ അതിരുകളെ മാറ്റുന്നു; ചിലർ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെ കവർന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോയി മേയക്കുന്നു.

They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.ചിലർ അനാഥന്മാരുടെ കഴുതയെ കൊണ്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളയുന്നു; ചിലർ വിധവയുടെ കാളയെ പണയംവാങ്ങുന്നു.

They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.ചിലർ സാധുക്കളെ വഴി തെറ്റിക്കുന്നു; ദേശത്തെ എളിയവർ ഒരുപോലെ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising early for a prey: the wilderness yields food for them and for their children.അവർ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ കാട്ടുകഴുതകളെപ്പോലെ ഇര തേടി വേലെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുന്നു; ശൂന്യപ്രദേശം മക്കൾക്കു വേണ്ടി അവർക്കു ആഹാരം.

They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.അവർ വയലിൽ അന്യന്റെ പയറ് പറിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിൽ കാലാ പെറുക്കുന്നു.

They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.അവർ വസ്ത്രമില്ലാതെ നഗ്നരായി രാത്രി കഴിച്ചുകൂട്ടുന്നു; കുളിരിൽ അവർക്കു പുതപ്പും ഇല്ല.

They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for lack of a shelter.അവർ മലകളിൽ മഴ നനയുന്നു; മറവിടം ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ അവർ പാറയെ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു.

They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.ചിലർ മുലകുടിക്കുന്ന അനാഥകൂട്ടികളെ അപഹരിക്കുന്നു; ചിലർ ദരിദ്രനോടു പണയം വാങ്ങുന്നു.

They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;അവർ വസ്ത്രം കൂടാതെ നഗ്നരായി നടക്കുന്നു; പട്ടിണി കിടന്നുകൊണ്ടു കറ്റ ചുമക്കുന്നു.

Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.അന്യരുടെ മതിലുകൾക്കകത്തു അവർ ചക്കാട്ടുന്നു; മുന്തരിച്ചകൂ ചവിട്ടുകയും ദാഹിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded cries out: yet God lays not folly to them.പട്ടണത്തിൽ ആളുകൾ ഞരങ്ങുന്നു; പട്ടുപോയവരുടെ പ്രാണൻ നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്നോ അതിൽ നീരസം തോന്നുന്നില്ല.

They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.ഇവർ വെളിച്ചത്തോടു മത്സരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വഴികളെ അറിയുന്നില്ല; അതിന്റെ പാതകളിൽ നടക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.കുലപാതകൻ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രനെയും എളിയവനെയും കൊല്ലുന്നു; രാത്രിയിൽ കള്ളനായി നടക്കുന്നു.

The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguises his face.വ്യഭിചാരിയുടെ കണ്ണു അസ്തമാനം കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ മുഖം മറെച്ചു നടന്നു ഒരു കണ്ണും എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.ചിലർ ഇരുട്ടത്തു വീടു തുരന്നു കയറുന്നു; പകൽ അവർ വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു പാർക്കുന്നു; വെളിച്ചത്തു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതുമില്ല.

For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.പ്രഭാതം അവർക്കൊക്കെയും അന്ധതമസ്സു തന്നേ; അന്ധതമസ്സിന്റെ ഘോരത്വങ്ങൾ അവർക്കു പരിചയമുണ്ടല്ലോ.

He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholds not the way of the vineyards.വെള്ളത്തിന്മേൽ അവർ വേഗത്തിൽ പൊയ്പോകുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഓഹരി ഭൂമിയിൽ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളുടെ വഴിക്കു അവർ തിരിയുന്നില്ല.

Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so does the grave those which have sinned.ഹിമജലം വരൾച്ചെക്കും ഉഷ്ണത്തിന്നും പാപം ചെയ്തവൻ പാതാളത്തിന്നും ഇരയാകുന്നു.

²⁰

The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.ഗർഭപാത്രം അവനെ മറന്നുകളയും; കൃമി അവനെ തിന്നു രസിക്കും; പിന്നെ ആരും അവനെ ഓർക്കയില്ല; നീതികേടു ഒരു വൃക്ഷംപോലെ തകർന്നു പോകും.

He evil entreats the barren that bears not: and does not good to the widow.പ്രസവിക്കാത്ത മച്ചിയെ അവൻ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയുന്നു; വിധവെക്കു നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതുമില്ല.

He draws also the mighty with his power: he rises up, and no man is sure of life.അവൻ തന്റെ ശക്തിയാൽ നിഷ്കണ്ടകന്മാരെ നിലനില്ക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു; ജീവനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരാശപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കെ അവർ എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുന്നു.

Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he rests; yet his eyes are upon their ways.അവൻ അവർക്കു നിർഭയവാസം നല്കുന്നു; അവർ ഉറെച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി അവരുടെ വഴികളിന്മേൽ ഉണ്ടു.

²⁴

They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.അവർ ഉയർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; കുറെകഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടോ അവർ ഇല്ല; അവരെ താഴ്ത്തി മറ്റെല്ലാവരെയുംപോലെ നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു; കതിരുകളുടെ തലപോലെ അവരെ അറുക്കുന്നു.

²⁵

And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?ഇങ്ങനെയല്ലെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ കള്ളനാക്കുകയും എന്റെ വാക്കു ഖണ്ഡിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ആർ?
