Luke 4

And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,യേശു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവനായി യോർദ്ദാൻ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങി; ആത്മാവു അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു നടത്തി; പിശാചു അവനെ നാല്പതു ദിവസം പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.ആ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ അവൻ ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിച്ചില്ല; അവ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവന്നു വിശന്നു.

And the devil said unto him, If you be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.അപ്പോൾ പിശാചു അവനോടു: നീ ദൈവ പുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഈ കല്ലിനോടു അപ്പമായി ത്തീരുവാൻ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.യേശു അവനോടു: “മനുഷ്യൻ അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല ജീവിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.പിന്നെ പിശാചു അവനെ മേലോട്ടു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി ലോകത്തിലെ സകല രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും ക്ഷണനേരത്തിൽ അവന്നു കാണിച്ചു:

And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give you, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.ഈ അധികാരം ഒക്കെയും അതിന്റെ മഹത്വവും നിനക്കു തരാം; അതു എങ്കൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവന്നു ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

If you therefore will worship me, all shall be yours.നീ എന്നെ നമസ്കരിച്ചാൽ അതെല്ലാം നിന്റെതാകും എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get you behind me, Satan: for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.യേശു അവനോടു: “നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If you be the Son of God, cast yourself down from behind:പിന്നെ അവൻ അവനെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോയി ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രത്തിന്മേൽ നിറുത്തി അവനോടു: നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഇവിടെ നിന്നു താഴോട്ടു ചാടുക.

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you:“നിന്നെ കാപ്പാൻ അവൻ തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരോടു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു കല്പിക്കയും

And in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone.നിന്റെ കാൽ കല്ലിനോടു തട്ടാതവണ്ണം അവർ നിന്നെ കയ്യിൽ താങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.യേശു അവനോടു: “നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു എന്നു അരുച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.അങ്ങനെ പിശാചു സകല പരീക്ഷയും തികെച്ചശേഷം കുറെ കാലത്തേക്കു അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറി.

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.യേശു ആത്മാവിന്റെ ശക്തിയോടെ ഗലീലെക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു; അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാട്ടിൽ ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു.

And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.അവൻ അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചു; എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up in order to read.അവൻ വളർന്ന നസറെത്തിൽ വന്നു: ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തന്റെ പതിവുപോലെ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്നു വായിപ്പാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു.

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകം അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ പുസ്തകം വിടർത്തി:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,“ദരിദ്രന്മാരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിപ്പാൻ കർത്താവു എന്നെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്കയാൽ അവന്റെ ആത്മാവു എന്റെമേൽ ഉണ്ടു; ബദ്ധന്മാർക്കു വിടുതലും കുരുടന്മാർക്കു കാഴ്ചയും പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും പീഡിതന്മാരെ വിടുവിച്ചയപ്പാനും

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.കർത്താവിന്റെ പ്രസാദവർഷം പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം കണ്ടു.

And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.പിന്നെ അവൻ പുസ്തകം മടക്കി ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന്നു തിരികെ കൊടുത്തിട്ടു ഇരുന്നു; പള്ളിയിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരുടെയും കണ്ണു അവങ്കൽ പതിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.അവൻ അവരോടു: “ഇന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കയിൽ ഈ തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു നിവൃത്തി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി, അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട ലാവണ്യ വാക്കുകൾ നിമിത്തം ആശ്ചര്യപെട്ടു; ഇവൻ യോസേഫിന്റെ മകൻ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, All of you will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal yourself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in your country.അവൻ അവരോടു: “വൈദ്യാ, നിന്നെത്തന്നേ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുക എന്നുള്ള പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ഉണ്ടായി കേട്ടതുഎല്ലാം ഈ നിന്റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തിലും ചെയ്കഎന്നും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു പറയും നിശ്ചയം.

And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.ഒരു പ്രവാചകനും തന്റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തിൽ സമ്മതനല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But I tell you truthfully, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;“ഏലീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു ആകാശം മൂവാണ്ടും ആറു മാസവും അടഞ്ഞിട്ടു ദേശത്തു എങ്ങും മഹാ ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല വിധവമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ യഥാർത്ഥമായി നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

But unto none of them was Elijah sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.എന്നാൽ സിദോനിലെ സരെപ്തയിൽ ഒരു വിധവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ അവരിൽ ആരുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു ഏലീയാവിനെ അയച്ചില്ല.

And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.അവ്വണ്ണം എലീശാപ്രവാചകന്റെ കാലത്തു യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സുറിയക്കാരനായ നയമാൻ അല്ലാതെ അവരാരും ശുദ്ധമായില്ല.” എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,പള്ളിയിലുള്ളവർ ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു എല്ലാവരും കോപം നിറഞ്ഞവരായി എഴുന്നേറ്റു

And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണം പണിതിരുന്ന മലയുടെ വക്കോളം കൊണ്ടുപോയി തലകീഴായി തള്ളിയിടുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.

But he passing through the midst of them went his way,അവനോ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ കൂടി കടന്നുപോയി.

And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.അനന്തരം അവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ ഒരു പട്ടണമായ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുപോന്നു.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.അവന്റെ വചനം അധികാരത്തോടെ ആകയാൽ അവർ അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽ വിസ്മയിച്ചു.

And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,അവിടെ പള്ളിയിൽ അശുദ്ധഭൂതം ബാധിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

³⁴

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us? I know you who you are; the Holy One of God.അവൻ നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, വിടു; ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവോ? നീ ആർ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നേ എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു.

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.“മിണ്ടരുതു; അവനെ വിട്ടുപോക” എന്നു യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഭൂതം അവനെ നടുവിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ടു കേടു ഒന്നും വരുത്താതെ അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.

And they were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.എല്ലാവർക്കും വിസ്മയം ഉണ്ടായി: ഈ വചനം എന്തു? അധികാരത്തോടും ശക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ അവൻ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോകുന്നു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാടെങ്ങും പരന്നു.

And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി ശിമോന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു. ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ കഠിനജ്വരംകൊണ്ടു വലഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാൽ അവർ അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.അവൻ അവളെ കുനിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, ജ്വരത്തെ ശാസിച്ചു; അതു അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി; അവൾ ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോൾ നാനാവ്യാധികൾ പിടിച്ച ദീനക്കാർ ഉള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും അവരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവൻ ഓരോരുത്തന്റെയും മേൽ കൈവെച്ചു അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.

And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, You are Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.പലരിൽ നിന്നും ഭൂതങ്ങൾ; നീ ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; താൻ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവ അറികകൊണ്ടു മിണ്ടുവാൻ അവൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ അവയെ ശാസിച്ചു.

And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോൾ അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിർജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തേക്കു പോയി. പുരുഷാരം അവനെ തിരഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ അരികത്തു വന്നു തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവനെ തടുത്തു.

And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.അവൻ അവരോടു: “ഞാൻ മറ്റുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ദൈവരാജ്യം സുവിശേഷിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ഇതിനായിട്ടല്ലോ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ പള്ളികളിൽ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുപോന്നു.

Luke 5

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,അവൻ ഗന്നേസരെത്ത് തടാകത്തിന്റെ കരയിൽ നില്ക്കുമ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം ദൈവവചനം കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ തിക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കയിൽ

And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.രണ്ടു പടകു കരെക്കു അടുത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടു; അവയിൽ നിന്നു മീൻപിടിക്കാർ ഇറങ്ങി വല കഴുകുകയായിരുന്നു.

And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.ആ പടകുകളിൽ ശിമോന്നുള്ളതായ ഒന്നിൽ അവൻ കയറി “കരയിൽ നിന്നു അല്പം നീക്കേണം” എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പടകിൽ ഇരുന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.സംസാരിച്ചു തീർന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ ശിമോനോടു: “ആഴത്തിലേക്കു നീക്കി മീമ്പിടിത്തത്തിന്നു വല ഇറക്കുവിൻ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at your word I will let down the net.അതിന്നു ശിമോൻ: നാഥാ, ഞങ്ങൾ രാത്രി മുഴുവനും അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചിട്ടും ഒന്നും കിട്ടിയില്ല; എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ വാക്കിന്നു ഞാൻ വല ഇറക്കാം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.അവർ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ പെരുത്തു മീൻകൂട്ടം അകപ്പെട്ടു വല കീറാറായി.

And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.അവർ മറ്റെ പടകിലുള്ള കൂട്ടാളികൾ വന്നു സഹായിപ്പാൻ അവരെ മാടിവിളിച്ചു. അവർ വന്നു പടകു രണ്ടും മുങ്ങുമാറാകുവോളും നിറെച്ചു.

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ് അതു കണ്ടിട്ടു യേശുവിന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ വീണു: കർത്താവേ, ഞാൻ പാപിയായ മനുഷ്യൻ ആകകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:അവർക്കു ഉണ്ടായ മീമ്പിടിത്തത്തിൽ അവന്നും അവനോടു കൂടെയുള്ളവർക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും സംഭ്രമം പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth you shall catch men.ശിമോന്റെ കൂട്ടാളികളായ യാക്കോബ് യോഹന്നാൻ എന്ന സെബെദിമക്കൾക്കും അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ. യേശു ശിമോനോടു: “ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ ഇന്നു മുതൽ നീ മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവൻ ആകും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.പിന്നെ അവർ പടകുകളെ കരെക്കു അടുപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു സകലവും വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.അവൻ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കുഷ്ഠം നിറഞ്ഞോരു മനുഷ്യൻ യേശുവിനെ കണ്ടു കവിണ്ണു വീണു: കർത്താവേ, നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be you clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.യേശു കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു: “എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടു; ശുദ്ധമാക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം അവനെ വിട്ടു മാറി.

And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.അവൻ അവനോടു: “ഇതു ആരോടും പറയരുതു; എന്നാൽ പോയി നിന്നെത്തന്നേ പുരോഹിതന്നു കാണിച്ചു, അവർക്കു സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നിന്റെ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നുള്ള വഴിപാടു അർപ്പിക്ക” എന്നു അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.എന്നാൽ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വർത്തമാനം അധികം പരന്നു. വളരെ പുരുഷാരം വചനം കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തങ്ങളുടെ വ്യാധികൾക്കു സൌഖ്യം കിട്ടേണ്ടതിന്നും കൂടി വന്നു.

And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.അവനോ നിർജ്ജനദേശത്തു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.അവൻ ഒരു ദിവസം ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഗലീലയിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലുമുള്ള സകലഗ്രാമത്തിൽനിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നും വന്ന പരീശന്മാരും ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവിടെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു. സൌഖ്യമാക്കുവാൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ ശക്തി അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.അപ്പോൾ ചില ആളുകൾ പക്ഷവാതം പിടിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ കിടക്കയിൽ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവനെ അകത്തുകൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെപ്പാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.

And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, your sins are forgiven you.അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ടു. അവൻ: “മനുഷ്യാ, നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും: ദൈവദൂഷണം പറയുന്ന ഇവൻ ആർ? ദൈവം ഒരുവൻ അല്ലാതെ പാപങ്ങളെ മോചിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നവൻ ആർ എന്നു ചിന്തിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.

But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason all of you in your hearts?യേശു അവരുടെ ചിന്തകളെ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു: “നിങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

Whether is easier, to say, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Rise up and walk?നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടക്ക എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ ഏതാകുന്നു എളുപ്പം” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

But that all of you may know that the Son of man has power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto you, Arise, and take up your couch, and go into yours house.എങ്കിലും ഭൂമിയിൽ പാപങ്ങളെ മോചിപ്പാൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നു അധികാരം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു - അവൻ പക്ഷവാതക്കാരനോടു: “എഴുന്നേറ്റു കിടക്ക എടുത്തു വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോക എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.ലേവി തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ അവന്നു ഒരു വലിയ വിരുന്നു ഒരുക്കി; ചുങ്കക്കാരും മറ്റും വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരം അവരോടുകൂടെ പന്തിയിൽ ഇരുന്നു.

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do all of you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?പരീശന്മാരും അവരുടെ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ചുങ്കക്കാരോടും പാപികളോടും കൂടെ തിന്നുകുടിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പിറുപിറുത്തു.

And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but yours eat and drink?അവർ അവനോടു: യോഹന്നാന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കൂടക്കൂടെ ഉപവസിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥനകഴിച്ചുവരുന്നു; പരീശന്മാരുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോ തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, Can all of you make the children of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?യേശു അവരോടു: “മണവാളൻ തോഴ്മക്കാരോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ അവരെ ഉപവാസം ചെയ്യിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുമോ?

But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.മണവാളൻ അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിയേണ്ടുന്ന കാലം വരും; അന്നു, ആ കാലത്തു, അവർ ഉപവസിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he spoke also a parable unto them; No man puts a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new makes a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agrees not with the old.ഒരു ഉപമയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ആരും കോടിത്തുണിക്കണ്ടം കീറിയെടുത്തു പഴയവസ്ത്രത്തോടു ചേർത്തു തുന്നുമാറില്ല. തുന്നിയാലോ പുതിയതു കീറുകയും പുതിയകണ്ടം പഴയതിനോടു ചേരാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

And no man puts new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.ആരും പുതുവീഞ്ഞു പഴയതുരുത്തിയിൽ പകരുമാറില്ല, പകർന്നാൽ പുതുവീഞ്ഞു തുരുത്തിയെ പൊളിച്ചു ഒഴുകിപ്പോകും; തുരുത്തിയും നശിച്ചുപോകും;

But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.പുതുവീഞ്ഞു പുതിയതുരുത്തിയിൽ അത്രേ പകർന്നുവെക്കേണ്ടതു.

No man also having drunk old wine immediately desires new: for he says, The old is better.പിന്നെ പഴയതു കുടിച്ചിട്ടു ആരും പുതിയതു ഉടനെ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല; പഴയതു ഏറെ നല്ലതു എന്നു പറയും.”

Luke 6

And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.ഒരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവൻ വിളഭൂമിയിൽ കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കതിർ പറിച്ചു കൈകൊണ്ടു തിരുമ്മിതിന്നു.

How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the showbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?പുരോഹിതന്മാർ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരും തിന്നരുതാത്ത കാഴ്ചയപ്പം വാങ്ങി തിന്നുകയും കൂടെയുള്ളവർക്കു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്തു എന്നുള്ളതു നിങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.“മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ശബ്ബത്തിന്നും കർത്താവു ആകുന്നു” എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.മറ്റൊരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ വലങ്കൈ വറണ്ടുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും അവനെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുവാൻ സംഗതി കിട്ടേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുമോ എന്നു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.അവരുടെ വിചാരം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ വരണ്ട കൈയുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോടു: “എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടുവിൽ നിൽക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു;

Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്നു. യേശു അവരോടു: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ഒന്നു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ: ശബ്ബത്തിൽ നന്മ ചെയ്കയോ തിന്മ ചെയ്കയോ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കയോ നശിപ്പിക്കയോ ഏതു വിഹിതം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.അവരെ എല്ലാം ചുറ്റും നോക്കീട്ടു ആ മനുഷ്യനോടു: “കൈ നീട്ടുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു”. അവൻ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു, അവന്റെ കൈക്കു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.അവരോ ഭ്രാന്തു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി യേശുവിനെ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ ആലോചന കഴിച്ചു.

And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;അവൻ അവരോടു കൂടെ ഇറങ്ങി സമഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടവും യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ എല്ലാടത്തുനിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നും സോർ സീദോൻ എന്ന സമുദ്രതീരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും അവന്റെ വചനം കേൾപ്പാനും രോഗശാന്തി കിട്ടുവാനും വന്ന ബഹു പുരുഷാരവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കൾ ബാധിച്ചവരും സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.ശക്തി അവനിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു എല്ലാവരെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും അവനെ തൊടുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.

And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be all of you poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.അനന്തരം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ നോക്കി പറഞ്ഞതു: “ദരിദ്രന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ, ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതു.

Blessed are all of you that hunger now: for all of you shall be filled. Blessed are all of you that weep now: for all of you shall laugh.ഇപ്പോൾ വിശക്കുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു തൃപ്തിവരും; ഇപ്പോൾകരയുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; നിങ്ങൾ ചിരിക്കും.

Blessed are all of you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ നിമിത്തം മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു ഭ്രഷ്ടരാക്കി നിന്ദിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പേർ വിടക്കു എന്നു തള്ളുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

Rejoice all of you in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.ആ നാളിൽ സന്തോഷിച്ചു തുള്ളുവിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഫലം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ വലിയതു; അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

But woe unto you that are rich! for all of you have received your consolation.എന്നാൽ സമ്പന്നരായ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങളുടെ ആശ്വാസം നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിച്ചുപോയല്ലോ.

Woe unto you that are full! for all of you shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for all of you shall mourn and weep.ഇപ്പോൾ തൃപ്തന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിശക്കും. ഇപ്പോൾ ചിരിക്കുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ ദുഃഖിച്ചു കരയും.

Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.സകല മനുഷ്യരും നിങ്ങളെ പുകഴത്തിപ്പറയുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ കള്ളപ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ”.

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,എന്നാൽ കേൾക്കുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങളോടു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നതു: “നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നവർക്കു ഗുണം ചെയ്‍വിൻ.

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.നിങ്ങളെ ശപിക്കുന്നവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളെ ദുഷിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പിൻ.

And unto him that strikes you on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that takes away your cloak forbid not to take your coat also.നിന്നെ ഒരു ചെകിട്ടത്തു അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു മറ്റേതും കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്ക; നിന്റെ പുതപ്പു എടുത്തുകളയുന്നവന്നു വസ്ത്രവും തടുക്കരുതു.

Give to every man that asks of you; and of him that takes away your goods ask them not again.നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും കൊടുക്ക; നിനക്കുള്ളതു എടുത്തുകളയുന്നവനോടു മടക്കി ചോദിക്കരുതു.

And as all of you would that men should do to you, do all of you also to them likewise.മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവർക്കും ചെയ്‍വിൻ.

For if all of you love them which love you, what thank have all of you? for sinners also love those that love them.നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു ഉപചാരം കിട്ടും? പാപികളും തങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവല്ലോ.

And if all of you do good to them which do good to you, what thank have all of you? for sinners also do even the same.നിങ്ങൾക്കു നന്മചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കു നന്മ ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു ഉപചാരം കിട്ടും? പാപികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And if all of you lend to them of whom all of you hope to receive, what thank have all of you? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.മടക്കി വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ആശിക്കുന്നവർക്കു കടം കൊടുത്താൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു കിട്ടും? പാപികളും കുറയാതെ മടക്കിവാങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു പാപികൾക്കു കടം കൊടുക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

But love all of you your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and all of you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.നിങ്ങളോ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ; അവർക്കു നന്മ ചെയ്‍വിൻ; ഒന്നും പകരം ഇച്ഛിക്കാതെ കടം കൊടുപ്പിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഫലം വളരെ ആകും; നിങ്ങൾ അത്യുന്നതന്റെ മക്കൾ ആകും; അവൻ നന്ദികെട്ടവരോടും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടും ദയാലുവല്ലോ.

Judge not, and all of you shall not be judged: condemn not, and all of you shall not be condemned: forgive, and all of you shall be forgiven:വിധിക്കരുതു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളെയും വിധിക്കയില്ല; ശിക്ഷെക്കു വിധിക്കരുതു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കും ശിക്ഷാവിധി ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; വിടുവിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളെയും വിടുവിക്കും.

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that all of you mete likewise it shall be measured to you again.കൊടുപ്പിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടും; അമർത്തി കുലുക്കി കവിയുന്നൊരു നല്ല അളവു നിങ്ങളുടെ മടിയിൽ തരും; നിങ്ങൾ അളക്കുന്ന അളവിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കും അളന്നു കിട്ടും.

And he spoke a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?അവൻ ഒരുപമയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “കുരുടന്നു കരുടനെ വഴികാട്ടുവാൻ കഴിയുമോ? ഇരുവരും കുഴിയിൽ വീഴുകയില്ലയോ? ശിഷ്യൻ ഗുരുവിന്നു മീതെയല്ല,

The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.അഭ്യാസം തികഞ്ഞവൻ എല്ലാം ഗുരുവിനെപ്പോലെ ആകും.

And why behold you the splinter that is in your brother's eye, but perceive not the beam that is in yours own eye?എന്നാൽ നീ സഹോദരന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കരടു നോക്കുകയും സ്വന്തകണ്ണിലെ കോൽ വിചാരിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?

Either how can you say to your brother, Brother, let me pull out the splinter that is in yours eye, when you yourself behold not the beam that is in yours own eye? You hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of yours own eye, and then shall you see clearly to pull out the splinter that is in your brother's eye.അല്ല, സ്വന്തകണ്ണിലെ കോൽ നോക്കാതെ: സഹോദരാ, നില്ലു; നിന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കരടു എടുത്തുകളയട്ടെ എന്നു സഹോദരനോടു പറവാൻ നിനക്കു എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? കപടഭക്തിക്കാരാ, മുമ്പെ സ്വന്തകണ്ണിലെ കോൽ എടുത്തുകളക; എന്നാൽ സഹോദരന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കരടു എടുത്തുകളവാൻ വെടിപ്പായി കണുമല്ലോ.

For a good tree brings not forth corrupt fruit; neither does a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.ആകാത്തഫലം കായക്കുന്ന നല്ല വൃക്ഷമില്ല; നല്ലഫലം കായക്കുന്ന ആകാത്ത വൃക്ഷവുമില്ല.

For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.ഏതു വൃക്ഷത്തെയും ഫലംകൊണ്ടു അറിയാം. മുള്ളിൽനിന്നു അത്തിപ്പഴം ശേഖരിക്കുകയും ഞെരിഞ്ഞിലിൽ നിന്നു മുന്തിരിങ്ങാ പറിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമാറില്ലല്ലോ.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.നല്ലമനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നല്ല നിക്ഷേപത്തിൽ നിന്നു നല്ലതു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടൻ ദോഷമായതിൽ നിന്നു ദോഷം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു. ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു കവിയുന്നതല്ലോ വായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു.

And why call all of you me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കർത്താവേ, കർത്താവേ എന്നു വിളിക്കയും ഞാൻ പറയുന്നതു ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?

Whosoever comes to me, and hears my sayings, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like:എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഇന്നവനോടു തുല്യൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണിച്ചു തരാം.

He is like a man which built an house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.ആഴെക്കുഴിച്ചു പാറമേൽ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടു വീടു പണിയുന്ന മനുഷ്യനോടു അവൻ തുല്യൻ. വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു ഒഴുക്കു വീട്ടിനോടു അടിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അതു നല്ലവണ്ണം പണിതിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അതു ഇളകിപ്പോയില്ല.

But he that hears, and does not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.കേട്ടിട്ടു ചെയ്യാത്തവനോ അടിസ്ഥാനം കൂടാതെ മണ്ണിന്മേൽ വീടു പണിത മനുഷ്യനോടു തുല്യൻ. ഒഴുക്കു അടിച്ച ഉടനെ അതു വീണു; ആ വീട്ടിന്റെ വീഴ്ച വലിയതുമായിരുന്നു”.
