And David spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:യഹോവ ദാവീദിനെ സകലശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും ശൌലിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നും വിടുവിച്ചശേഷം അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു സംഗീതംപാടി ചൊല്ലിയതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;യഹോവ എന്റെ ശൈലവും എൻ കോട്ടയും എന്റെ രക്ഷകനും ആകുന്നു.

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; you save me from violence.എന്റെ പാറയായ ദൈവം; അവനിൽ ഞാൻ ആശ്രയിക്കും; എന്റെ പരിചയും എന്റെ രക്ഷയായ കൊമ്പും എന്റെ ഗോപുരവും എന്റെ സങ്കേതവും തന്നേ. എന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവേ, നീ എന്നെ സാഹസത്തിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.സ്തുത്യനായ യഹോവയെ ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും; എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളിൽനിന്നു താൻ എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;മരണത്തിന്റെ തിരമാല എന്നെ വളഞ്ഞു; ദുഷ്ടതയുടെ പ്രവാഹങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു;

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;പാതാളപാശങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ചുഴന്നു; മരണത്തിന്റെ കണികൾ എന്റെമേൽ വീണു.

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഞാൻ യഹോവയെ വിളിച്ചു, എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു തന്നേ നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവൻ തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു; എന്റെ നിലവിളി അവന്റെ ചെവികളിൽ എത്തി.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was angry.ഭൂമി ഞെട്ടി വിറെച്ചു, ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ഇളകി, അവൻ കോപിക്കയാൽ അവ കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.അവന്റെ മൂക്കിൽനിന്നു പുക പൊങ്ങി, അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു തീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു, തീക്കനൽ അവങ്കൽനിന്നു ജ്വലിച്ചു.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.അവൻ ആകാശം ചായിച്ചിറങ്ങി; കൂരിരുൾ അവന്റെ കാൽക്കീഴുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.അവൻ കെരൂബിനെ വാഹനമാക്കി പറന്നു, കാറ്റിൻ ചിറകിന്മേൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.

And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.അവൻ അന്ധകാരം തനിക്കു ചുറ്റും മണ്ഡപമാക്കി; ജലാശയവും കനത്ത മേഘങ്ങളും കൂടെ.

Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.അവന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള പ്രകാശത്താൽ തീക്കനൽ ജ്വലിച്ചു.

The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.യഹോവ ആകാശത്തിൽ ഇടിമുഴക്കി, അത്യുന്നതൻ തന്റെ നാദം കേൾപ്പിച്ചു.

And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and humiliated them.അവൻ അസ്ത്രം എയ്തു അവരെ ചിതറിച്ചു, മിന്നൽ അയച്ചു അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു.

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.യഹോവയുടെ ഭത്സനത്താൽ, തിരുമൂക്കിലെ ശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ ഊത്തിനാൽ കടലിന്റെ ചാലുകൾ കാണായ്‍വന്നു ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെട്ടു.

He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;അവൻ ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു കൈനീട്ടി എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു, പെരുവെള്ളത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്നെ വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.ബലമുള്ള ശത്രുവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും എന്നെ പകെച്ചവരുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നും എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു; അവർ എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവർ ആയിരുന്നു.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.എന്റെ അനർത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ അവർ എന്നെ ആക്രമിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ എനിക്കു തുണയായിരുന്നു.

He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.അവൻ എന്നെ വിശാലതയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു, എന്നിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു.

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands has he recompensed me.യഹോവ എന്റെ നീതിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം എനിക്കു പ്രതിഫലം നല്കി, എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ വെടിപ്പിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം എനിക്കു പകരം തന്നു.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു, എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തതുമില്ല.

For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.അവന്റെ വിധികൾ ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പിലുണ്ടു; അവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ വിട്ടുനടന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.

²⁴

I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരുന്നു, അകൃത്യം ചെയ്യാതെ എന്നെ തന്നേ കാത്തു.

²⁵

Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.യഹോവ എന്റെ നീതിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണവും അവന്റെ കാഴ്ചയിൽ എന്റെ നിർമ്മലതെക്കൊത്തവണ്ണവും എനിക്കു പകരം നല്കി.

²⁶

With the merciful you will show yourself merciful, and with the upright man you will show yourself upright.ദയാലുവോടു നീ ദയാലുവാകുന്നു; നിഷ്കളങ്കനോടു നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കൻ.

²⁷

With the pure you will show yourself pure; and with the perverse you will show yourself unpleasing.നിർമ്മലനോടു നീ നിർമ്മലനാകുന്നു; വക്രനോടു നീ വക്രത കാണിക്കുന്നു.

²⁸

And the afflicted people you will save: but yours eyes are upon the haughty, that you may bring them down.എളിയ ജനത്തെ നീ രക്ഷിക്കും; നിഗളിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നവരെ താഴ്ത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കുന്നു.

²⁹

For you are my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.യഹോവേ, നീ എന്റെ ദീപം ആകുന്നു; യഹോവ എന്റെ അന്ധകാരത്തെ പ്രകാശമാക്കും.

³⁰

For by you I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.നിന്നാൽ ഞാൻ പടക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലും; എന്റെ ദൈവത്താൽ ഞാൻ മതിൽ ചാടിക്കടക്കും.

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി തികവുള്ളതു, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ഊതിക്കഴിച്ചതു; തന്നെ ശരണമാക്കുന്ന ഏവർക്കും അവൻ പരിച ആകുന്നു.

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?യഹോവയല്ലാതെ ദൈവം ആരുള്ളു? നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം ഒഴികെ പാറ ആരുള്ളു?

God is my strength and power: and he makes my way perfect.ദൈവം എന്റെ ഉറപ്പുള്ള കോട്ട, നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ അവൻ വഴി നടത്തുന്നു.

³⁴

He makes my feet like hinds' feet: and sets me upon my high places.അവൻ എന്റെ കാലുകളെ മാൻ പേടക്കാല്ക്കു തുല്യമാക്കി എന്റെ ഗിരികളിൽ എന്നെ നില്ക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു.

³⁵

He teaches my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.അവൻ എന്റെ കൈകൾക്കു യുദ്ധാഭ്യാസം വരുത്തുന്നു; എന്റെ ഭുജങ്ങൾ താമ്രചാപം കുലെക്കുന്നു.

³⁶

You have also given me the shield of your salvation: and your gentleness has made me great.നിന്റെ രക്ഷ എന്ന പരിചയെ നീ എനിക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ സൌമ്യത എന്നെ വലിയവനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁷

You have enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.ഞാൻ കാലടി വെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ വിശാലത വരുത്തി; എന്റെ നരിയാണികൾ വഴുതിപ്പോയതുമില്ല.

³⁸

I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ പിന്തുടർന്നൊടുക്കി അവരെ മുടിക്കുവോളം ഞാൻ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല.

³⁹

And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.അവർക്കു എഴുന്നേറ്റുകൂടാതവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവരെ തകർത്തൊടുക്കി; അവർ എന്റെ കാൽക്കീഴിൽ വീണിരിക്കുന്നു.

For you have girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me have you subdued under me.യുദ്ധത്തിന്നായി നീ എന്റെ അരെക്കു ശക്തി കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു എതിർത്തവരെ എനിക്കു കീഴടക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

You have also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ സംഹരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ എനിക്കു പുറം കാട്ടുമാറാക്കി.

They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.അവർ ചുറ്റും നോക്കിയെങ്കിലും രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു നോക്കി, അവൻ ഉത്തരം അരുളിയതുമില്ല.

Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.ഞാൻ അവരെ നിലത്തിലെ പൊടിപോലെ പൊടിച്ചു, വീഥികളിലെ ചെളിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ അവരെ ചവിട്ടി ചിതറിച്ചു.

⁴⁴

You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people, you have kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ കലഹങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും നീ എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു, ജാതികൾക്കു എന്നെ തലവനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അറിയാത്ത ജനം എന്നെ സേവിക്കുന്നു.

⁴⁵

Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.അന്യജാതിക്കാർ എന്നോടു അനസരണഭാവം കാണിക്കും; അവർ കേട്ട മാത്രെക്കു എന്നെ അനുസരിക്കും.

⁴⁶

Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.അന്യജാതിക്കാർ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അവർ വിറെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.

⁴⁷

The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.യഹോവ ജീവിക്കുന്നു; എൻ പാറ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ. എൻ രക്ഷയുടെ പാറയായ ദൈവം ഉന്നതൻ തന്നേ.

⁴⁸

It is God that avenges me, and that brings down the people under me.ദൈവം എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്കയും ജാതികളെ എനിക്കു കീഴാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

⁴⁹

And that brings me forth from mine enemies: you also have lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: you have delivered me from the violent man.അവൻ ശത്രുവശത്തുനിന്നു എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു എതിർക്കുന്നവർക്കു മീതെ നീ എന്നെ ഉയർത്തുന്നു; സാഹസക്കാരന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു നീ എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.

⁵⁰

Therefore I will give thanks unto you, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto your name.അതുകൊണ്ടു, യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യും, നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഞാൻ കീർത്തിക്കും.

He is the tower of salvation for his king: and shows mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.അവൻ തന്റെ രാജാവിന്നു മഹാരക്ഷ നല്കുന്നു; തന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്നു ദയ കാണിക്കുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്നും അവന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും എന്നെന്നേക്കും തന്നേ.

2 Samuel 23

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,ദാവീദിന്റെ അന്ത്യവാക്യങ്ങളാവിതു: യിശ്ശായിപ്പുത്രൻ ദാവീദ് ചൊല്ലുന്നു; ഓന്നത്യം പ്രാപിച്ച പുരുഷൻ ചൊല്ലുന്നു; യാക്കോബിൻ ദൈവത്താൽ അഭിഷിക്തൻ, യിസ്രായേലിൻ മധുരഗായകൻ തന്നേ.

The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and his word was in my tongue.യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു എന്നിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വചനം എന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേലിൻ പാറ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: മനുഷ്യരെ നീതിമാനായി ഭരിക്കുന്നവൻ,

And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.ദൈവഭയത്തോടെ വാഴുന്നവൻ, മേഘമില്ലാത്ത പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു സുര്യോദയത്തിങ്കലെ പ്രകാശത്തിന്നു തുല്യൻ; മഴെക്കു പിമ്പു സൂര്യകാന്തിയാൽ ഭൂമിയിൽ മുളെക്കുന്ന ഇളമ്പുല്ലിന്നു തുല്യൻ.

Although my house be not so with God; yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ എന്റെ ഗൃഹം അതു പോലെയല്ലയോ? അവൻ എന്നോടു ഒരു ശാശ്വതനിയമം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ: അതു എല്ലാറ്റിലും സ്ഥാപിതവും സ്ഥിരവുമായിരിക്കുന്നു. അവൻ എനിക്കു സകലരക്ഷയും വാഞ്ഛയും തഴെപ്പിക്കയില്ലയോ?

But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:എന്നാൽ സകലനീചന്മാരും എറിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നതും കൈകൊണ്ടു പിടിച്ചുകൂടാത്തതുമായ മുള്ളുപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.അവയെ തൊടുവാൻ തുനിയുന്നവൻ ഇരിമ്പും കുന്തപ്പിടിയും ധരിച്ചിരിക്കേണം; അവയെ അവ കിടക്കുന്നേടത്തു തന്നേ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം.

These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at the same.ദാവീദിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വീരന്മാരുടെ പേരുകളാവിതു: തഹ്കെമോന്യൻ യോശേബ്-ബശ്ശേബെത്ത്; അവൻ നായകന്മാരിൽ തലവൻ; എണ്ണൂറുപേരെ ഒരേ സമയത്തു ആക്രമിച്ചു കൊന്ന എസ്ന്യൻ അദീനോ ഇവൻ തന്നേ.

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:അവന്റെ ശേഷം ഒരു അഹോഹ്യന്റെ മകനായ ദോദായിയുടെ മകൻ എലെയാസാർ; അവൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു യിസ്രായേല്യർ പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ നിന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെല്ലുവിളിച്ച മൂന്നു വീരന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ആയിരുന്നു.

He arose, and stroke the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കൈതളർന്നു വാളോടു പറ്റിപ്പോകുംവരെ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെട്ടി; അന്നു യഹോവ വലിയോരു ജയം നല്കി; കൊള്ളയിടുവാൻ മാത്രമേ പടജ്ജനം അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നുള്ളു.

And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentils: and the people fled from the Philistines.അവന്റ ശേഷം ഹാരാർയ്യനായ ആഗേയുടെ മകനായ ശമ്മാ; ഒരിക്കൽ; ചെറുപയർ ഉള്ളോരു വയലിൽ കവർച്ചെക്കു ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ കൂടിവന്നപ്പോൾ ജനം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോയി.

But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.അവനോ വയലിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു അതിനെ കാത്തു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ വെട്ടി; യഹോവ വലിയോരു ജയം നല്കി.

And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.മുപ്പതു നായകന്മാരിൽ മൂന്നുപേർ കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു അദുല്ലാംഗുഹയിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ സൈന്യം രെഫായീംതാഴ്വരയിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.അന്നു ദാവീദ് ദുർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യർക്കു ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ അക്കാലത്തു ഒരു കാവൽപട്ടാളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതിൽക്കലെ കിണറ്റിൽനിന്നു വെള്ളം എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ ആർ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തരും എന്നു ദാവീദ് ആർത്തിപൂണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.എങ്കിലും യോവാബും പടനായകന്മാരും രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന അനുസരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു. അങ്ങനെ യോവാബും പടനായകന്മാരും യിസ്രായേൽജനത്തെ എണ്ണുവാൻ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

And David's heart stroke him after that he had numbered the people. For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,ദാവീദ് രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദർശകനായ ഗാദ്പ്രവാചകന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:

Go and say unto David, Thus says the LORD, I offer you three things; choose you one of them, that I may do it unto you.നീ ചെന്നു ദാവീദിനോടു: ഞാൻ മൂന്നു കാര്യം നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെക്കുന്നു; അതിൽ ഒന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊൾക; അതു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്യും എന്നിപ്രകാരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറക.

And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.ദാവീദ് ഗാദിനോടു: ഞാൻ വലിയ വിഷമത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യിൽ തന്നേ വീഴുക; അവന്റെ കരുണ വലിയതല്ലോ; മനുഷ്യന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഞാൻ വീഴരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിൽ രാവിലേ തുടങ്ങി നിശ്ചയിച്ച അവധിവരെ മഹാമാരി അയച്ചു; ദാൻ മുതൽ ബേർ-ശേബവരെ ജനത്തിൽ എഴുപതിനായിരം പേർ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now yours hand. And David spoke unto the LORD when he saw the angel that stroke the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let yours hand, I pray you, be against me, and against my father's house.ജനത്തെ ബാധിക്കുന്ന ദൂതനെ ദാവീദ് കണ്ടിട്ടു യഹോവയോടു: ഞാനല്ലോ പാപം ചെയ്തതു; ഞാനല്ലോ കുറ്റം ചെയ്തതു; ഈ ആടുകൾ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? നിന്റെ കൈ എനിക്കും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.അന്നുതന്നേ ഗാദ് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു: നീ ചെന്നു യെബൂസ്യനായ അരവ്നയുടെ കളത്തിൽ യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded.യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ഗാദ് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ദാവീദ് അവിടേക്കു പോയി.

And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.അരവ്നാ നോക്കി; രാജാവും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടാറെ അരവ്നാ പുറപ്പെട്ടുചെന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshing floor of you, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.യജമാനനായ രാജാവു അടിയന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അരവ്നാ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ദാവീദ്: ബാധ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടുമാറുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ കളം നിന്നോടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങുവാൻ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood.അരവ്നാ ദാവീദിനോടു: യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്നു ബോധിച്ചതു എടുത്തു യാഗം കഴിച്ചാലും; ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു കാളകളും വിറകിന്നു മെതിവണ്ടികളും കാളക്കോപ്പുകളും ഇതാ.

All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD your God accept you.രാജാവേ, ഇതൊക്കെയും അരവ്നാ രാജാവിന്നു തരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നിൽ പ്രസാദിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നും അരവ്നാ രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of you at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which does cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.രാജാവു അരവ്നയോടു: അങ്ങനെയല്ല, ഞാൻ അതു നിന്നോടു വിലെക്കേ വാങ്ങുകയുള്ളു; എനിക്കു ഒന്നും ചെലവില്ലാതെ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു ഹോമയാഗം കഴിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് കളത്തെയും കാളകളെയും അമ്പതു ശേക്കൽ വെള്ളിക്കു വാങ്ങി.

And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was implored for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.ദാവീദ് യഹോവെക്കു അവിടെ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും കഴിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ ദേശത്തിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേട്ടു; ബാധ യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടുമാറുകയും ചെയ്തു.

Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.അനന്തരം ഹഗ്ഗീത്തിന്റെ മകനായ അദോനീയാവു നിഗളിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു: ഞാൻ രാജാവാകുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു രഥങ്ങളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും തനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ഓടുവാൻ അമ്പതു അകമ്പടികളെയും സമ്പാദിച്ചു.

But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.എങ്കിലും നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകനെയും ബെനായാവെയും വീരന്മാരെയും തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ശലോമോനെയും അവൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചില്ല.

Wherefore Nathan spoke unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith does reign, and David our lord knows it not?എന്നാൽ നാഥാൻ ശലോമോന്റെ അമ്മയായ ബത്ത്-ശേബയോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഹഗ്ഗീത്തിന്റെ മകനായ അദോനീയാവു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നീ കേട്ടില്ലയോ? നമ്മുടെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല.

Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you counsel, that you may save yours own life, and the life of your son Solomon.ആകയാൽ വരിക; നിന്റെ ജീവനെയും നിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോന്റെ ജീവനെയും രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞുതരാം.

Go and get you in unto king David, and say unto him, Did not you, my lord, O king, swear unto yours handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?നീ ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, നിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോൻ എന്റെ അനന്തരവനായിവാണു എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു നീ അടിയനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തില്ലയോ? പിന്നെ അദോനീയാവു വാഴുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിക്ക.

Behold, while you yet talk there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.നീ അവിടെ രാജാവിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഞാനും നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വന്നു നിന്റെ വാക്കു ഉറപ്പിച്ചുകൊള്ളാം.

And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.അങ്ങനെ ബത്ത്-ശേബ പള്ളിയറയിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; രാജാവു വയോധികനായിരുന്നു; ശൂനേംകാരത്തിയായ അബീശഗ് രാജാവിന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And Bathsheba bowed, and did reverence unto the king. And the king said, What would you?ബത്ത്-ശേബ കുനിഞ്ഞു രാജാവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു നിനക്കു എന്തു വേണം എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിച്ചു.

And she said unto him, My lord, you sware by the LORD your God unto yours handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.അവൾ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്റെ യജമാനനേ, നിന്റെ മകൻ ശലോമോൻ എന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി വാണു എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ അടിയനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

And now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and now, my lord the king, you know it not:ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, അദോനീയാവു രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവു അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

And he has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon your servant has he not called.അവൻ അനവധി കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ആടുകളെയും അറുത്തു, രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും പുരോഹിതനായ അബ്യാഥാരിനെയും സേനാധിപതിയായ യോവാബിനെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു. എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ശലോമോനെ അവൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചില്ല.

And you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതു ആരെന്നു നീ അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും കണ്ണു നിന്നെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവു തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചശേഷം, ഞാനും എന്റെ മകൻ ശലോമോനും കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കും.

And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.അവൾ രാജാവിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഇതാ, നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകൻ വരുന്നു.

And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു രാജാവിനോടു അറിയിച്ചു. അവൻ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്നു രാജാവിനെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?നാഥാൻ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, അദോനീയാവു എന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി വാണു എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു നീ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

For he is gone down this day, and has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.അവൻ ഇന്നു ചെന്നു അനവധി കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ആടുകളെയും അറുത്തു, രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും സേനാധിപതിമാരെയും പുരോഹിതനായ അബ്യാഥാരിനെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു. അവർ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനംചെയ്തു: അദോനീയാരാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

But me, even me your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, has he not called.എന്നാൽ അടിയനെയും പുരോഹിതനായ സാദോക്കിനെയും യഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവെയും നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ശലോമോനെയും അവൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചില്ല.

Is this thing done by my lord the king, and you have not showed it unto your servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതു ആരെന്നു അടിയങ്ങളെ നീ അറിയിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കെ ഈ കാര്യം യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പനയാലോ നടന്നതു?

Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.ബത്ത്-ശേബയെ വിളിപ്പിൻ എന്നു ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചു. അവൾ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽചെന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു.

And the king swore, and said, As the LORD lives, that has redeemed my soul out of all distress,എന്നാറെ രാജാവു: എന്റെ ജീവനെ സകലകഷ്ടത്തിൽനിന്നും വീണ്ടെുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണ,

Even as I swore unto you by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my position; even so will I certainly do this day.നിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോൻ എന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി വാണു എനിക്കു പകരം എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിവർത്തിക്കും എന്നു സത്യംചെയ്തു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.അപ്പോൾ ബത്ത്-ശേബ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു രാജാവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു: എന്റെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.പിന്നെ ദാവീദ്: പുരോഹിതനായ സാദോക്കിനെയും പ്രവാചകനായ നാഥാനെയും യഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവെയും വിളിപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്നുനിന്നു.

The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:രാജാവു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ മകനായ ശാലോമോനെ എന്റെ കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറ്റി താഴെ ഗീഹോനിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവിൻ.

And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow all of you with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.അവിടെവെച്ചു സാദോക്ക് പുരോഹിതനും നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകനും അവനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്യേണം; പിന്നെ കാഹളം ഊതി: ശലമോൻ രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു ഘോഷിച്ചുപറവിൻ.

Then all of you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my position: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.അതിന്റെശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിൻ; അവൻ വന്നു എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നു എനിക്കു പകരം വാഴേണം; യിസ്രായേലിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും പ്രഭുവായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവനെ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so too.അപ്പോൾ യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവു രാജാവിനോടു: ആമേൻ; യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ കല്പിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

As the LORD has been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.യഹോവ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ ശലോമോനോടുംകൂടെ ഇരിക്കയും യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെക്കാളും അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.അങ്ങനെ സാദോക്ക് പുരോഹിതനും നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകനും യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവും ക്രേത്യരും പ്ളേത്യരും ചെന്നു ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിന്റെ കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്തു ശലോമേനെ കയറ്റി ഗീഹോനിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി,

And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.സാദോക്ക് പുരോഹിതൻ തൃക്കൂടാരത്തിൽനിന്നു തൈലക്കൊമ്പു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു ശലോമോനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു. അവർ കാഹളം ഊതി, ജനമൊക്കെയും ശലോമോൻ രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു ഘോഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.പിന്നെ ജനമൊക്കയും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; ജനം കുഴലൂതി; അവരുടെ ഘോഷംകൊണ്ടു ഭൂമികുലുങ്ങുമാറു അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

And Adonijah and all the guest that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?അദോനീയാവും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല വിരുന്നുകാരും ഭക്ഷണം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതു കേട്ടു. കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ യോവാബ്: പട്ടണം കലങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആരവം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for you are a valiant man, and bring good tidings.അവൻ പറയുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ ഇതാ, പുരോഹിതനായ അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകൻ യോനാഥാൻ വരുന്നു; അദോനീയാവു അവനോടു: അകത്തുവരിക; നീ യോഗ്യപുരുഷൻ; നീ നല്ലവർത്തമാനം കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David has made Solomon king.യോനാഥാൻ അദോനീയാവോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: നമ്മുടെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവു ശലോമോനെ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule:രാജാവു സാദോക്ക് പുരോഹിതനെയും നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകനെയും യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവെയും ക്രേത്യരെയും പ്ളേത്യരെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചു. അവർ അവനെ രാജാവിന്റെ കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറ്റി.

And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that all of you have heard.സാദോക്ക് പുരോഹിതനും നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകനും അവനെ ഗീഹോനിൽവെച്ചു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു. അവർ പട്ടണം മുഴങ്ങുംവണ്ണം സന്തോഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവിടെനിന്നു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി. ഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ട ഘോഷം.

And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.അത്രയുമല്ല ശലോമോൻ രാജസിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു;

And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.രാജഭൃത്യന്മാരും നമ്മുടെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിനെ അഭിവന്ദനം ചെയ്‍വാൻ ചെന്നു; നിന്റെ ദൈവം ശലോമോന്റെ നാമത്തെ നിന്റെ നാമത്തെക്കാൾ ഉൽകൃഷ്ടവും അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ നിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ആക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which has given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.രാജാവു തന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ നമസ്കരിച്ചു: ഇന്നു എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ എന്റെ സന്തതി ഇരിക്കുന്നതു എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണ്മാൻ സംഗതി വരുത്തിയ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And all the guest that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.ഉടനെ അദോനീയാവിന്റെ വിരുന്നുകാർ ഒക്കെയും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ വഴിക്കുപോയി.

And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.അദോനീയാവും ശലോമോനെ പേടിച്ചു ചെന്നു യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പിടിച്ചു.

And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon: for, lo, he has caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword.അദോനീയാവു ശലോമോൻ രാജാവിനെ പേടിക്കുന്നു; ശലോമോൻ രാജാവു അടിയനെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊല്ലുകയില്ല എന്നു ഇന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ശലോമോൻ വർത്തമാനം കേട്ടു.

And Solomon said, If he will show himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.അവൻ യോഗ്യനായിരുന്നാൽ അവന്റെ തലയിലെ ഒരു രോമവും നിലത്തു വീഴുകയില്ല; അവനിൽ കുറ്റം കണ്ടാലോ അവൻ മരിക്കേണം എന്നു ശലോമോൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar.
