In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ പേക്കഹിന്റെ പതിനേഴാം ആണ്ടിൽ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യോഥാമിന്റെ മകൻ ആഹാസ് രാജാവായി.

Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.ആഹാസ് വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവന്നു ഇരുപതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പതിനാറു സംവത്സരം വാണു, തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദ്, ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തില്ല.

But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വഴിയിൽ നടന്നു; യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകൾക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം തന്റെ മകനെ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശവും ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.അവൻ പൂജാഗിരികളിലും കുന്നുകളിലും പച്ചവൃക്ഷത്തിൻ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും ബലി കഴിച്ചും ധൂപം കാട്ടിയും പോന്നു.

Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.അക്കാലത്തു അരാംരാജാവായ രെസീനും യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ രെമല്യാവിന്റെ മകൻ പേക്കഹും യെരൂശലേമിന്നു നേരെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു ആഹാസിനെ നിരോധിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അവനെ ജയിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day.അന്നു അരാംരാജാവായ രെസീൻ ഏലത്ത് വീണ്ടെടുത്തു അരാമിനോടു ചേർത്തു യെഹൂദന്മാരെ ഏലത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അരാമ്യർ ഏലത്തിൽ വന്നു ഇന്നുവരെയും അവിടെ പാർക്കുന്നു.

So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am your servant and your son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.ആഹാസ് അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ തിഗ്ളത്ത്-പിലേസരിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ദാസനും നിന്റെ പുത്രനും ആകുന്നു; നീ വന്നു എന്നോടു എതിർത്തിരിക്കുന്ന അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമെന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.അതിന്നായിട്ടു ആഹാസ് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും രാജധാനിയിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിലും കണ്ട വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും എടുത്തു അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവിന്നു സമ്മാനമായി കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു അവന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു; അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ദമ്മേശെക്കിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു അതിലെ നിവാസികളെ കീരിലേക്കു ബദ്ധരായി കൊണ്ടുപോയി രെസീനെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof.ആഹാസ്‌രാജാവു അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ തിഗ്ളത്ത്-പിലേസരിനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ ചെന്നു, ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ ബലിപീഠം കണ്ടു; ആഹാസ്‌രാജാവു ബലിപീഠത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രതിമയും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാപണിയോടുംകൂടിയുള്ള മാതൃകയും ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the priest made it against king Ahaz came from Damascus.ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതൻ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു; ആഹാസ്‌രാജാവു ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽനിന്നു അയച്ചപ്രകാരമൊക്കെയും ആഹാസ്‌രാജാവു ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽനിന്നു വരുമ്പോഴെക്കു ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതൻ അതു പണിതിരുന്നു.

And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king approached to the altar, and offered thereon.രാജാവു ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽനിന്നു വന്നപ്പോൾ ആ യാഗപീഠം കണ്ടു; രാജാവു യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ ചെന്നു അതിന്മേൽ കയറി.

And he burnt his burnt offering and his food offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar.ഹോമയാഗവും ഭോജനയാഗവും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു പാനീയയാഗവും പകർന്നു സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളുടെ രക്തവും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ തളിച്ചു.

And he brought also the brazen altar, which was before the LORD, from the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of the altar.യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിലെ താമ്രയാഗപീഠം അവൻ ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുൻ വശത്തു തന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേനിന്നു നീക്കി തന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ വടക്കുവശത്തു കൊണ്ടു പോയി വെച്ചു.

And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening food offering, and the king's burnt sacrifice, and his food offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their food offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brazen altar shall be for me to enquire by.ആഹാസ് രാജാവു ഊരീയാ പുരോഹിതനോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: മഹായാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ നീ രാവിലത്തെ ഹോമയാഗവും വൈകുന്നേരത്തെ ഭോജനയാഗവും രാജാവിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗവും ഭോജനയാഗവും ദേശത്തെ സകലജനത്തിന്റെയും ഹോമയാഗവും ഭോജനയാഗവും ദഹിപ്പിക്കയും അവരുടെ പാനീയയാഗങ്ങൾ കഴിക്കയും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളുടെയും ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളുടെയും രക്തമൊക്കെയും തളിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണം; താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തെപ്പറ്റിയോ ഞാൻ ആലോചിച്ചു കൊള്ളാം.

Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.ആഹാസ്‌രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതൻ ചെയ്തു.

And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the vessel that holds water from off them; and took down the sea from off the brazen oxen that were under it, and put it upon the pavement of stones.ആഹാസ്‌രാജാവു പീഠങ്ങളുടെ ചട്ടപ്പലക കണ്ടിച്ചു തൊട്ടിയെ അവയുടെ മേൽനിന്നു നീക്കി; താമ്രക്കടലിനെയും അതിന്റെ കീഴെ നിന്ന താമ്രക്കാളപ്പുറത്തുനിന്നു ഇറക്കി ഒരു കല്ത്തളത്തിന്മേൽ വെച്ചു.

And the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king's entry without, turned he from the house of the LORD for the king of Assyria.ആലയത്തിങ്കൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന ശബ്ബത്ത് താഴ്വാരവും രാജാവിന്നു പ്രവേശിപ്പാനുള്ള പുറത്തെ നടയും അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെ വിചാരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നു മാറ്റിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?ആഹാസ് ചെയ്ത മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his position.ആഹാസ് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകൻ ഹിസ്കീയാവു അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

2 Kings 17

In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആഹാസിന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ ഏലയുടെ മകനായ ഹോശേയ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി ശമർയ്യയിൽ ഒമ്പതു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; തനിക്കു മുമ്പുള്ള യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അല്ലതാനും.

Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.അവന്റെ നേരെ അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവായ ശൽമനേസെർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നു; ഹോശേയ അവന്നു ആശ്രിതനായിത്തീർന്നു കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു.

And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.എന്നാൽ ഹോശേയ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ സോവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയക്കയും അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്നു ആണ്ടുതോറുമുള്ള കപ്പം കൊടുത്തയക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുനിമിത്തം അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവു അവനിൽ ദ്രോഹം കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ പിടിച്ചു ബന്ധിച്ചു കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആക്കി.

Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു രാജ്യത്തു എല്ലാടവും കൂടി കടന്നു ശമർയ്യയിലേക്കു വന്നു അതിനെ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം നിരോധിച്ചു.

In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.ഹോശേയയുടെ ഒമ്പതാം ആണ്ടിൽ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ശമർയ്യയെ പിടിച്ചു യിസ്രായേലിനെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി, ഹലഹിലും ഗോസാൻ നദീതീരത്തിലെ ഹാബോരിലും മേദ്യരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും പാർപ്പിച്ചു.

For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ കൈക്കീഴിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കയും

And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും അവയെ നടപ്പാക്കിയ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഇങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു വിരോധമായി കൊള്ളരുതാത്തകാര്യങ്ങളെ രഹസ്യമായി ചെയ്തു കാവൽക്കാരുടെ ഗോപുരംമുതൽ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണംവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും പൂജാഗിരികൾ പണിതു.

And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:അവർ ഉയർന്ന കുന്നിന്മേലൊക്കെയും പച്ചവൃക്ഷത്തിൻ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും വിഗ്രഹസ്തംഭങ്ങളും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.

And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:യഹോവ തങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ജാതികളെപ്പോലെ അവർ സകലപൂജാഗിരികളിലും ധൂപം കാട്ടി യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ദോഷമായുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, All of you shall not do this thing.ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ അവരോടു വിലക്കിയിരുന്ന വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ അവർ ചെന്നു സേവിച്ചു.

Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn all of you from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.എന്നാൽ യഹോവ സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരും ദർശകന്മാരും മുഖാന്തരം യിസ്രായേലിനോടും യെഹൂദയോടും: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചതും എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയച്ചുതന്നതുമായ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണമൊക്കെയും എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടപ്പിൻ എന്നു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു.

Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.എങ്കിലും അവർ കേൾക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്ന പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ചു,

And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.അവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവൻ ചെയ്ത നിയമത്തെയും അവൻ അവരോടു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ച സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളെയും നിരസിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവർ വ്യാജത്തെ പിന്തുടർന്നു വ്യർത്ഥന്മാരായിത്തീർന്നു; അവരെപ്പോലെ ആചരിക്കരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ജാതികളെ തന്നേ അവർ പിന്തുടർന്നു.

And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളെ ഒക്കെയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു തങ്ങൾക്കു രണ്ടു കാളക്കുട്ടികളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ വാർപ്പിച്ചു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ആകാശത്തിലെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും നമസ്കരിച്ചു ബാലിനെയും സേവിച്ചുപോന്നു.

And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിച്ചു പ്രശ്നവും ആഭിചാരവും പ്രയോഗിച്ചു യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്‍വാൻ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞു.

Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ഏറ്റവും കോപിച്ചു അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; യെഹൂദാഗോത്രം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.

Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.യെഹൂദയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ യിസ്രായേൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നു.

And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.ആകയാൽ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽസന്തതിയെ മുഴുവനും തള്ളി അവരെ താഴ്ത്തി, കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു, ഒടുവിൽ അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drove Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ ദാവീദ് ഗൃഹത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നു പറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവർ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിനെ രാജാവാക്കി; യൊരോബെയാം യിസ്രായേലിനെ യഹോവയെ വിട്ടുമാറുമാറാക്കി അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു വലിയോരു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യൊരോബെയാം ചെയ്ത സകലപാപങ്ങളിലും നടന്നു.

Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.അവർ അവയെ വിട്ടുമാറായ്കയാൽ യഹോവ പ്രാവചകന്മാരായ തന്റെ സകലദാസന്മാരും മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തപ്രാകരം ഒടുവിൽ യിസ്രായേലിനെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു. ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽ സ്വദേശം വിട്ടു അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവന്നു; ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവു ബാബേൽ, കൂഥാ, അവ്വ, ഹമാത്ത്, സെഫർവ്വയീം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ആളുകളെ വരുത്തി യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു പകരം ശമർയ്യാപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർപ്പിച്ചു; അവർ ശമർയ്യകൈവശമാക്കി അതിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തു.

Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.അങ്ങനെ അവർ ശമർയ്യയിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ വന്നു ബേഥേലിൽ പാർത്തു; യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വിധം അവർക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

Nevertheless every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.എങ്കിലും അതതു ജാതി താന്താന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി, ഓരോ ജാതി പാർത്തുവന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ശമർയ്യർ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന പൂജാഗിരിക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,ബാബേൽകാർ സുക്കോത്ത്-ബെനോത്തിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; കൂഥക്കാർ നേർഗാലിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഹമാത്ത്കാർ അശീമയെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി;

And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.അവ്വക്കാർ നിബ്ഹസിനെയും തർത്തക്കിനെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; സെഫർവ്വക്കാർ സെഫർവ്വയീംദേവന്മാരായ അദ്രമേലെക്കിന്നും അനമേലെക്കിന്നും തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശനം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the low of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.അവർ യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു തന്നേ പൂജാഗിരിപുരോഹിതന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കയും അവർ അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പൂജാഗിരിക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ യാഗം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.അങ്ങനെ അവർ യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കയും തങ്ങൾ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോന്ന ജാതികളുടെ മര്യാദപ്രകാരം സ്വന്ത ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.

Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;ഇന്നുവരെയും അവർ മുമ്പിലത്തെ മര്യാദപ്രകാരം തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു; യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തചട്ടങ്ങളെയും മാർഗ്ഗവിധികളെയും ആകട്ടെ, യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽ എന്നു പേർവിളിച്ച യക്കോബിന്റെ മക്കളോടു കല്പിച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയും കല്പനയെയുമാകട്ടെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, All of you shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:യഹോവ അവരോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കയും അവെക്കു യാഗംകഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതെ

But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall all of you fear, and him shall all of you worship, and to him shall all of you do sacrifice.നിങ്ങളെ മഹാശക്തികൊണ്ടും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജംകൊണ്ടും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മാത്രം ഭജിക്കയും അവനെ മാത്രം നമസ്കരിക്കയും അവന്നു മാത്രം യാഗംകഴിക്കയും വേണം.

Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.യിസ്രയേൽരാജാവായ ഏലയുടെ മകനായ ഹോശേയയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആഹാസിന്റെ മകൻ ഹിസ്കീയാവു രാജാവായി.

Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.അവൻ പൂജാഗിരികളെ നീക്കി വിഗ്രഹസ്തംഭങ്ങളെ തകർത്തു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠയെ വെട്ടിമുറിച്ചു മോശെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ താമ്രസർപ്പത്തെയും ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; ആ കാലംവരെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അതിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടിവന്നു; അതിന്നു നെഹുഷ്ഠാൻ എന്നു പേരായിരുന്നു.

He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചു; അവന്നു മുമ്പും പിമ്പും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരിലും ആരും അവനോടു തുല്യനായിരുന്നില്ല.

For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses.അവൻ യഹോവയോടു ചേർന്നിരുന്നു അവനെ വിട്ടു പിന്മാറാതെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ച അവന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടന്നു.

And the LORD was with him; and he prospered anywhere he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും കൃതാർത്ഥനായ്‍വന്നു; അവൻ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനോടു മത്സരിച്ചു അവനെ സേവിക്കാതിരുന്നു.

He stroke the Philistines, even unto Gaza, and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.അവൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ഗസ്സയോളം തോല്പിച്ചു; കാവൽക്കാരുടെ ഗോപുരംമുതൽ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണംവരെയുള്ള അതിന്റെ പ്രദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ഏലയുടെ മകൻ ഹോശേയയുടെ ഏഴാം ആണ്ടായി ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ നാലാം ആണ്ടിൽ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ ശല്മനേസെർ ശമർയ്യയുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നു അതിനെ നിരോധിച്ചു.

And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes:അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു യിസ്രായേലിനെ അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി ഹലഹിലും ഗോസാൻ നദീതീരത്തുള്ള ഹാബോരിലും മേദ്യരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും പാർപ്പിച്ചു.

Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാതെ അവന്റെ നിയമവും യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ലംഘിച്ചുകളകയാൽ തന്നേ; അവർ അതു കേൾക്കയോ അനുസരിക്കയോ ചെയ്തിരുന്നില്ല.

Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ പതിന്നാലാം ആണ്ടിൽ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ സൻ ഹേരീബ് യെഹൂദയിലെ ഉറപ്പുള്ള എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളുടെയും നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു അവയെ പിടിച്ചു.

And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which you put on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.അപ്പോൾ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവു ലാഖീശിൽ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: ഞാൻ കുറ്റം ചെയ്തു; എന്നെ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകേണം; നീ എനിക്കു കല്പിക്കുന്ന പിഴ ഞാൻ അടെച്ചു കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു. അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു മുന്നൂറു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും മുപ്പതു താലന്ത് പൊന്നും പിഴ കല്പിച്ചു.

And Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house.ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും രാജധാനിയിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിലും കണ്ട വെള്ളിയൊക്കെയും കൊടുത്തു.

At that time did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.ആ കാലത്തു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകളിലും കട്ടളകളിലും താൻ പൊതിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന പൊന്നും പറിച്ചെടുത്തു അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the launderer's field.എങ്കിലും അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവു തർത്ഥാനെയും റബ്-സാരീസിനെയും റബ്-ശാക്കേയെയും ലാഖീശിൽനിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒരു വലിയ സൈന്യവുമായി യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നേരെ അയച്ചു; അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യെരൂശലേമിൽ വന്നു. അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ അലക്കുകാരന്റെ വയലിലെ പെരുവഴിക്കലുള്ള മേലത്തെ കുളത്തിന്റെ കല്പാത്തിക്കരികെ ചെന്നുനിന്നു.

And Rabshakeh said unto them, Speak all of you now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein you trust?റബ്-ശാക്കേ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ ഫിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: മഹാരാജാവായ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിക്കുന്നു: നീ ആശ്രിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആശ്രയം എന്തു?

You says, (but they are but vain words,) I have counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom do you trust, that you rebel against me?യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടുന്ന ആലോചനയും ബലവും ഉണ്ടെന്നു നീ പറയുന്നതു വെറും വാക്കത്രേ. ആരെ ആശ്രയിച്ചിട്ടാകുന്നു നീ എന്നോടു മത്സരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു?

Now, behold, you trust upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.ചതെഞ്ഞ ഓടക്കോലായ ഈ മിസ്രയീമിലല്ലോ നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നതു; അതിന്മേൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ഊന്നിയാൽ അതു അവന്റെ ഉള്ളംകയ്യിൽ തറെച്ചുകൊള്ളും; മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോൻ തന്നിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ഏവർക്കും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേയാകുന്നു.

But if all of you say unto me, We trust in the LORD our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and Jerusalem, All of you shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?അല്ല, നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, അവന്റെ പൂജാഗിരികളും യാഗപീഠങ്ങളും ഹിസ്കീയാവു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിട്ടല്ലോ യെഹൂദായോടും യെരൂശലേമ്യരോടും യെരൂശലേമിലുള്ള ഈ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നമസ്കരിപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചതു.

Now therefore, I pray you, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver you two thousand horses, if you be able on your part to set riders upon them.ആകട്ടെ എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവുമായി വാതുകെട്ടുക; നിനക്കു കുതിരച്ചേവകരെ കയറ്റുവാൻ കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു രണ്ടായിരം കുതിരയെ തരാം.

How then will you turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put your trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?നീ പിന്നെ എങ്ങനെ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ എളിയ ദാസന്മാരിൽ ഒരു പട നായകനെയെങ്കിലും മടക്കും? രഥങ്ങൾക്കായിട്ടും കുതിരച്ചേവകർക്കായിട്ടും നീ മിസ്രയീമിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ ഈ സ്ഥലം നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ യഹോവയെ കൂടാതെയോ അതിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു? യഹോവ എന്നോടു: ഈ ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുചെന്നു അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray you, to your servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews' language in the ears of the people that are on the wall.അപ്പോൾ ഹിൽക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ എല്യാക്കീമും ശെബ്നയും യോവാഹും റബ്-ശാക്കേയോടു: അടിയങ്ങളോടു അരാംഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കേണമേ; അതു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അറിയാം; മതിലിന്മേലുള്ള ജനം കേൾക്കെ ഞങ്ങളോടു യെഹൂദാഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But Rabshakeh said unto them, Has my master sent me to your master, and to you, to speak these words? has he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?റബ്-ശാക്കേ അവരോടു: നിന്റെ യജമാനനോടും നിന്നോടും ഈ വാക്കു പറവാനോ എന്റെ യജമാനൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു? നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ സ്വന്ത മലം തിന്നുകയും സ്വന്തമൂത്രം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ മതിലിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Rabshakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language, and spoke, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria:അങ്ങനെ റബ്-ശാക്കേ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദാഭാഷയിൽ ഉറക്കെ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: മഹാരാജാവായ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ.

Thus says the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand:രാജാവു ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിക്കുന്നു: ഹിസ്കീയാവു നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിപ്പാൻ അവന്നു കഴികയില്ല.

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.യഹോവ നമ്മെ നിശ്ചയമായി വിടുവിക്കും; ഈ നഗരം അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഹിസ്കീയാവു നിങ്ങളെ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുമാറാക്കുകയും അരുതു.

Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus says the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and then eat all of you every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink all of you every one the waters of his cistern:ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ചെവികൊടുക്കരുതു; അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിക്കുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു സന്ധി ചെയ്തു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തുവരുവിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെയും അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെയും ഫലം തിന്നുകയും താന്താന്റെ കിണറ്റിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്തുകൊൾവിൻ.

Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that all of you may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuades you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.പിന്നെ ഞാൻ വന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തിന്നു തുല്യമായി ധാന്യവും വിഞ്ഞും അപ്പവും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും ഒലിവെണ്ണയും തേനും ഉള്ള ഒരു ദേശത്തേക്കു നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകും; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ മരിക്കാതെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും; യഹോവ നമ്മെ വിടുവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കുന്ന ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു ചെവികൊടുക്കരുതു.

Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they delivered Samaria out of mine hand?ഹമാത്തിലെയും അർപ്പാദിലെയും ദേവന്മാർ എവിടെ? സെഫർവ്വയീമിലെയും ഹേനയിലെയും ഇവ്വയിലേയും ദേവന്മാർ എവിടെ? ശമർയ്യയെ അവർ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand?യഹോവ യെരൂശലേമിനെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിപ്പാൻ ആ ദേശങ്ങളിലെ സകലദേവന്മാരിലും വെച്ചു ഒരുത്തൻ തന്റെ ദേശത്തെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചുവോ?

But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not.എന്നാൽ ജനം മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു അവനോടു ഒന്നും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല; അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറയരുതെന്നു കല്പന ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.ഹിൽക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ എല്യാക്കീം എന്ന രാജധാനിവിചാരകനും രായസക്കാരനായ ശെബ്നയും ആസാഫിന്റെ മകനായ യോവാഹ് എന്ന മന്ത്രിയും വസ്ത്രം കീറി ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു റബ്-ശാക്കേയുടെ വാക്കു അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവു അതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ വസ്ത്രം കീറി രട്ടുടുത്തുകെണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.

And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.പിന്നെ അവൻ രാജധാനിവിചാരകനായ എല്യാക്കീമിനെയും രായസക്കാരനായ ശെബ്നയെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെയും രട്ടുടുത്തവരായി ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.

And they said unto him, Thus says Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.അവർ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു: ഇതു കഷ്ടവും ശാസനയും നിന്ദയും ഉള്ള ദിവസം അത്രേ; കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ ജനിപ്പാറായിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രസവിപ്പാനോ ശക്തിയില്ല.

It may be the LORD your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD your God has heard: wherefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that are left.ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിപ്പാൻ റബ്-ശാക്കേയെ അവന്റെ യജമാനനായ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു അയച്ചു പറയിക്കുന്ന വാക്കു ഒക്കെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ പക്ഷെ കേൾക്കും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കേട്ട വാക്കിന്നു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യും; ആകയാൽ ഇനിയും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പക്ഷവാദം കഴിക്കേണമേ.

So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ യെശയ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ യെശയ്യാവു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു:

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall all of you say to your master, Thus says the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ എന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചതായി നീ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകൾനിമിത്തം ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ.

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.ഞാൻ അവന്നു ഒരു മനോവിഭ്രമം വരുത്തും; അവൻ ഒരു ശ്രുതി കേട്ടിട്ടു സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ അവനെ അവന്റെ സ്വന്തദേശത്തുവെച്ചു വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴുമാറാക്കും.

So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.റബ്-ശാക്കേ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ലിബ്നയുടെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവൻ ലാഖീശ് വിട്ടു പോയി എന്നു അവൻ കേട്ടിരുന്നു.

And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he has come out to fight against you: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,ക്രുശ്‌രാജാവായ തിർഹാകൂ തന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്‍വാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവൻ പിന്നെയും ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു പറയിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Thus shall all of you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.നിങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: യെരൂശലേം അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുകളകയില്ല എന്നു നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം നിന്നെ ചതിക്കരുതു.

Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shall you be delivered?അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാർ സകലദേശങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്തതും അവെക്കു ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തിയതും നീ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; നീ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുമോ?

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?ഗോസാൻ, ഹാരാൻ, രേസെഫ്, തെലസ്സാരിലെ എദേന്യർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാർ അവരെ വിടുവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.ഹിസ്കീയാവു ദൂതന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു എഴുത്തു വാങ്ങിവായിച്ചു: ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അതു വിടർത്തി.

And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwell between the cherubims, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: കെരൂബുകൾക്കുമീതെ അധിവസിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ ഒരുത്തൻ മാത്രം ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ദൈവം ആകുന്നു; നീ ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

LORD, bow down yours ear, and hear: open, LORD, yours eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which has sent him to reproach the living God.യഹോവേ, ചെവിചായിച്ചു കേൾക്കേണമേ; യഹോവേ, തൃക്കണ്ണുതുറന്നു നോക്കേണമേ; ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിപ്പാൻ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സൻ ഹേരീബിന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കേണമേ.

Truthfully, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,യഹോവേ, അശ്ശൂർ രാജാക്കന്മാർ ആ ജാതികളെയും അവരുടെ ദേശത്തെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കിയതു സത്യം തന്നേ.

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ അവർ തീയിലിട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു; അവ ദേവന്മാരല്ല, മനുഷ്യരുടെ കൈപ്പണിയായ മരവും കല്ലും മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; ആകയാൽ അവർ അവയെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Now therefore, O LORD our God, I plead to you, save you us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are the LORD God, even you only.ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ ഒരുത്തൻ മാത്രം യഹോവയായ ദൈവം എന്നു ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളും അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, That which you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നീ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ സൻ ഹേരീബിൻ നിമിത്തം എന്നോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചതു ഞാൻ കേട്ടു.

This is the word that the LORD has spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion has despised you, and laughed you to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനമാവിതു: സീയോൻ പുത്രിയായ കന്യക നിന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചു പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേംപുത്രി നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ തല കുലുക്കുന്നു.

Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? and against whom have you exalted your voice, and lifted up yours eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.നീ ആരെയാകുന്നു നിന്ദിച്ചു ദുഷിച്ചതു? ആർക്കു വിരോധമായിട്ടാകുന്നു നീ ഒച്ച പൊക്കുകയും തല ഉന്നതമായി ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്തതു? യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന്നു വിരോധമായിട്ടു തന്നേയല്ലോ.

By your messengers you have reproached the LORD, and have said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.നിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാർ മുഖാന്തരം നീ കർത്താവിനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു: എന്റെ അസംഖ്യരഥങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഞാൻ മലമുകളിലും ലെബാനോന്റെ ശിഖരങ്ങളിലും കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ പൊക്കമുള്ള ദേവദാരുക്കളും വിശേഷമായ സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഞാൻ മുറിക്കും; അതിന്റെ അറ്റത്തെ പാർപ്പിടംവരെയും ചെഴിപ്പുള്ള കാടുവരെയും ഞാൻ കടന്നുചെല്ലും.

I have dug and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.ഞാൻ അന്യജലം കുഴിച്ചെടുത്തു കുടിക്കും. എന്റെ കാലടികളാൽ മിസ്രയീമിലെ സകലനദികളെയും വറ്റിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Have you not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that you should be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.ഞാൻ പണ്ടുപണ്ടേ അതിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി, പൂർവ്വകാലത്തു തന്നേ അതിനെ നിർമ്മിച്ചു എന്നു നീ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലയോ? നീ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളെ ശൂന്യക്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങളാക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ സംഗതി വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.അതുകൊണ്ടു അവയിലെ നിവാസികൾ ദുർബ്ബലന്മാരായി വിരണ്ടു അമ്പരന്നുപോയി; അവർ വയലിലെ പുല്ലും പച്ചച്ചെടിയും പുരപ്പുറങ്ങളിലെ പുല്ലും വളരുമ്മുമ്പെ കരിഞ്ഞുപോയ ധാന്യവുംപോലെ ആയ്തീർന്നു.

But I know your abode, and your going out, and your coming in, and your rage against me.എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ ഇരിപ്പും നിന്റെ ഗമനവും ആഗമനവും എന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള നിന്റെ കോപഭ്രാന്തും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

Because your rage against me and your tumult has come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose, and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.എന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള നിന്റെ കോപഭ്രാന്തുകൊണ്ടും നിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരം എന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ എന്റെ കൊളുത്തു നിന്റെ മൂക്കിലും എന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞാൺ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിലും ഇട്ടു, നീ വന്ന വഴിക്കു നിന്നെ മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകും.

And this shall be a sign unto you, All of you shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springs of the same; and in the third year sow all of you, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.എന്നാൽ ഇതു നിനക്കു അടയാളം ആകും; നിങ്ങൾ ഈ ആണ്ടിൽ പടുവിത്തുവിളയുന്നതും രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ താനേ കിളുർത്തു വിളയുന്നതും തിന്നും; മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ നിങ്ങൾ വിതെച്ചു കൊയ്യുകയും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കി അവയുടെ പഴം തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും.

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണം വീണ്ടും താഴെ വേരൂന്നി മീതെ ഫലം കായക്കും.

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പു യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നും ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണം സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നും പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരും; യഹോവയുടെ തീക്ഷ്ണത അതിനെ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും.

Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അവൻ ഈ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു വരികയില്ല; ഒരു അമ്പു അവിടെ എയ്കയില്ല. അതിന്റെ നേരെ പരിചയോടുകൂടെ വരികയില്ല; അതിന്നു എതിരെ വാടകോരുകയുമില്ല.

By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, says the LORD.അവൻ വന്ന വഴിക്കു തന്നേ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ഈ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു വരികയില്ല.

For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.എന്റെ നിമിത്തവും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിമിത്തവും ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ പാലിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and stroke in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.അന്നു രാത്രി യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അശ്ശൂർപാളയത്തിൽ ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തെണ്പത്തയ്യായിരം പേരെ കൊന്നു; ജനം രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ അവർ എല്ലാവരും ശവങ്ങളായി കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.അങ്ങനെ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ സൻ ഹേരീബ് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി നീനെവേയിൽ പാർത്തു.

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons stroke him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia.
