Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസഭയും ഒന്നാം മാസം സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ എത്തി, ജനം കാദേശിൽ പാർത്തു; അവിടെ വെച്ചു മിർയ്യാം മരിച്ചു; അവിടെ അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.ജനത്തിന്നു കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അപ്പോൾ അവർ മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടം കൂടി.

And the people find fault with Moses, and spoke, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!ജനം മേശെയോടു കലഹിച്ചു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ മരിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങളും മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

And why have all of you brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ കിടന്നു ചാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ സഭയെ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്തു?

And wherefore have all of you made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.ഈ വല്ലാത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു ഞങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു? ഇവിടെ വിത്തും അത്തിപ്പഴവും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴവും മാതളപ്പഴവും ഇല്ല; കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളവുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.എന്നാറെ മോശെയും അഹരോനും സഭയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു സമാഗമന കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ ചെന്നു കവിണ്ണുവീണു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു അവർക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: നിന്റെ വടി എടുത്തു നീയും സഹോദരനായ അഹരോനും സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവർ കാൺകെ പാറയോടു കല്പിക്ക.

Take the rod, and gather you the assembly together, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak all of you unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock: so you shall give the congregation and their beasts drink.എന്നാൽ അതു വെള്ളം തരും; പാറയിൽ നിന്നു അവർക്കു വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ജനത്തിന്നും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികൾക്കും കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുക്കേണം എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു വടി എടുത്തു.

And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, all of you rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?മോശെയും അഹരോനും പാറയുടെ അടുക്കൽ സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോടു: മത്സരികളേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ; ഈ പാറയിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he stroke the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.മോശെ കൈ ഉയർത്തി വടികൊണ്ടു പാറയെ രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം അടിച്ചു; വളരെ വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ജനവും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും കുടിച്ചു.

And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron, Because all of you believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore all of you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും: നിങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ കാൺകെ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സഭയെ ഞാൻ അവർക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകയില്ല എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.ഇതു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യഹോവയോടു കലഹിച്ചതും അവർ അവരിൽ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമായ കലഹജലം.

And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus says your brother Israel, You know all the travail that has befallen us:അനന്തരം മോശെ കാദേശിൽനിന്നു എദോംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു പറയിച്ചതു: നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യിസ്രായേൽ ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു:

How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:ഞങ്ങൾക്കുണ്ടായ കഷ്ടതയൊക്കെയും നീ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മിസ്രയീമിൽ പോയി ഏറിയ കാലം പാർത്തു: മിസ്രയീമ്യർ ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു.

And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and has brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of your border:ഞങ്ങൾ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു ഒരു ദൂതനെ അയച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള പട്ടണമായ കാദേശിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Let us pass, I pray you, through your country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed your borders.ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ അനുവദിക്കേണമേ. ഞങ്ങൾ വയലിലോ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലോ കയറുകയില്ല; കിണറ്റിലെവെള്ളം കുടിക്കയുമില്ല. ഞങ്ങൾ രാജപാതയിൽകൂടി തന്നേ നടക്കും;

And Edom said unto him, You shall not pass by me, lest I come out against you with the sword.നിന്റെ അതിർ കഴിയുംവരെ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരികയുമില്ല. എദോം അവനോടു: നീ എന്റെ നാട്ടിൽകൂടി കടക്കരുതു: കടന്നാൽ ഞാൻ വാളുമായി നിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of your water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing anything else, go through on my feet.അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ പെരുവഴിയിൽകൂടി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം; ഞാനും എന്റെ കന്നുകാലിയും നിന്റെ വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചുപോയാൽ അതിന്റെ വിലതരാം; കാൽനടയായി കടന്നു പോകേണമെന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും എനിക്കു വേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, You shall not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.അതിന്നു അവൻ നീ കടന്നുപോകരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എദോം ബഹുസൈന്യത്തോടും ബലമുള്ള കയ്യോടുംകൂടെ അവന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.ഇങ്ങനെ എദോം തന്റെ അതിരിൽകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല. യിസ്രായേൽ അവനെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി.

And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.പിന്നെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസഭയും കാദേശിൽനിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു ഹോർ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ എത്തി.

And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,എദോംദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because all of you rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.അഹരോൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും; കലഹജലത്തിങ്കൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ കല്പന മറുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു അവൻ കടക്കയില്ല.

Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:അഹരോനെയും അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെയും കൂട്ടി അവരെ ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു

And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിക്കേണം; അഹരോൻ അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും.

And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ ചെയ്തു; സർവ്വസഭയും കാൺകെ അവർ ഹോർപർവ്വത്തിൽ കയറി.

And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.മോശെ അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു; അഹരോൻ അവിടെ പർവ്വതത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു; മോശെയും എലെയാസാരും പർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി വന്നു. അഹരോൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു സഭയെല്ലാം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും അഹരോനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുപ്പതു ദിവസം വിലാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു

And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.—

Numbers 21

And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.യിസ്രായേൽ അഥാരീംവഴിയായി വരുന്നു എന്നു തെക്കെ ദേശത്തു വസിച്ചിരുന്ന കനാന്യനായ അരാദ്‍രാജാവു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധം തുടങ്ങി ചിലരെ പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽ യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു നേർച്ച നേർന്നു; ഈ ജനത്തെ നീ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ശപഥാർപ്പിതമായി നശിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു കനാന്യരെ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; അവർ അവരെയും അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളെയും ശപഥാർപ്പിതമായി നശിപ്പിച്ചു; ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഹോർമ്മാ എന്നു പേരായി.

And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.പിന്നെ അവർ എദോംദേശത്തെ ചുറ്റിപ്പോകുവാൻ ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നു ചെങ്കടൽവഴിയായി യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു; വഴിനിമിത്തം ജനത്തിന്റെ മനസ്സു ക്ഷീണിച്ചു.

And the people spoke against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have all of you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loathes this light bread.ജനം ദൈവത്തിന്നും മോശെക്കും വിരോധമായി സംസാരിച്ചു: മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? ഇവിടെ അപ്പവുമില്ല, വെള്ളവുമില്ല; ഈ സാരമില്ലാത്ത ആഹാരം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ അഗ്നിസർപ്പങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു; അവ ജനത്തെ കടിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേലിൽ വളരെ ജനം മരിച്ചു.

Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against you; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.ആകയാൽ ജനം മോശെയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ യഹോവെക്കും നിനക്കും വിരോധമായി സംസാരിച്ചതിനാൽ പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. സർപ്പങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളവാൻ യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; മോശെ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looks upon it, shall live.യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: ഒരു അഗ്നിസർപ്പത്തെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊടിമരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കുക; കടിയേല്ക്കുന്നവൻ ആരെങ്കിലും അതിനെ നോക്കിയാൽ ജീവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.അങ്ങനെ മോശെ താമ്രംകൊണ്ടു ഒരു സർപ്പത്തെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊടിമരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കി; പിന്നെ സർപ്പം ആരെയെങ്കിലും കടിച്ചിട്ടു അവൻ താമ്രസർപ്പത്തെ നോക്കിയാൽ ജീവിക്കും.

And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in Oboth.അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഓബോത്തിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

And they journeyed from Oboth, and pitched at Ijeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrising.ഓബോത്തിൽനിന്നു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു സൂര്യോദയത്തിന്നു നേരെ മോവാബിന്റെ കിഴക്കുള്ള മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഇയ്യെ-അബാരീമിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

From thence they removed, and pitched in the valley of Zared.അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സാരോദ് താഴ്വരയിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

From thence they removed, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, which is in the wilderness that comes out of the coasts of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അമോർയ്യരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിച്ചു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കൂടി ഒഴുകുന്ന അർന്നോൻ തോട്ടിന്നക്കരെ പാളയമിറങ്ങി; അർന്നോൻ മോവാബിന്നും അമോർയ്യർക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ മോവാബിന്നുള്ള അതിർ ആകുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടു:

Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,“സൂഫയിലെ വാഹേബും അർന്നോൻ താഴ്വരകളും ആരിന്റെ നിവാസത്തോളം നീണ്ടു.

And at the stream of the brooks that goes down to the dwelling of Ar, and lies upon the border of Moab.മോവാബിന്റെ അതിരോടു ചാഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന താഴ്വരച്ചരിവു” എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ യുദ്ധപുസ്തകത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD spoke unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.അവിടെനിന്നു അവർ ബേരിലേക്കു പോയി; യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: ജനത്തെ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടുക: ഞാൻ അവർക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു കല്പിച്ച കിണർ അതു തന്നേ.

Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing all of you unto it:ആ സമയത്തു യിസ്രായേൽ: “കിണറേ, പൊങ്ങിവാ; അതിന്നു പാടുവിൻ.

The princes dug the well, the nobles of the people dug it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ കുഴിച്ച കിണർ; ജനശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാർ ചെങ്കോൽകൊണ്ടും തങ്ങളുടെ ദണ്ഡുകൾകൊണ്ടും കുത്തിയ കിണർ എന്നുള്ള പാട്ടുപാടി.

And from Mattanah to Nahaliel: and from Nahaliel to Bamoth:പിന്നെ അവർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു മത്ഥാനെക്കും മത്ഥാനയിൽനിന്നു നഹലീയേലിന്നും നഹലീയേലിൽനിന്നു

And from Bamoth in the valley, that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looks toward Jeshimon.ബാമോത്തിന്നും ബാമോത്തിൽനിന്നു മോവാബിന്റെ പ്രദേശത്തുള്ള താഴ്വരയിലേക്കും മരുഭൂമിക്കെതിരെയുള്ള പിസ്ഗമുകളിലേക്കും യാത്രചെയ്തു.

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,അവിടെനിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽ അമോർയ്യരുടെ രാജാവായ സീഹോന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു:

Let me pass through your land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past your borders.ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ അനുവദിക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങൾ വയലിലെങ്കിലും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെങ്കിലും കയറുകയില്ല, കിണറ്റിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയുമില്ല; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അതിർകഴിയുംവരെ രാജപാതയിൽകൂടി തന്നേ പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.എന്നാൽ സീഹോൻ തന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി യിസ്രായേൽ കടന്നുപോവാൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ തന്റെ ജനത്തെയെല്ലാം ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടി യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നേരെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ യാഹാസിൽ വന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു.

And Israel stroke him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.യിസ്രായേൽ അവനെ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലകൊണ്ടു വെട്ടി, അർന്നോൻ മുതൽ യബ്ബോക്ക്‌വരെയും അമ്മോന്യരുടെ അതിർവരെയും ഉള്ള അവന്റെ ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കി; അമ്മോന്യരുടെ അതിരോ ഉറപ്പുള്ളതു ആയിരുന്നു.

And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the villages thereof.ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം യിസ്രായേൽ പിടിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽ അമോർയ്യരുടെ എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും കുടിപാർത്തു; ഹെശ്ബോനിലും അതിന്റെ സകല ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലും തന്നേ.

For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.ഹെശ്ബോൻ അമോർയ്യരുടെ രാജാവായ സീഹോന്റെ നഗരം ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ മുമ്പിലത്തെ മോവാബ് രാജാവിനോടു പടയെടുത്തു അർന്നോൻ വരെ ഉള്ള അവന്റെ ദേശമൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു.

Wherefore they that speak in proverbs say, Come into Heshbon, let the city of Sihon be built and prepared:അതുകൊണ്ടു കവിവരന്മാർ പറയുന്നതു: “ഹെശ്ബോനിൽ വരുവിൻ; സീഹോന്റെ നഗരം പണിതുറപ്പിക്കട്ടെ.

For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it has consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of Arnon.ഹെശ്ബോനിൽനിന്നു തീയും സീഹോന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽനിന്നു ജ്വാലയും പുറപ്പെട്ടു, മോവാബിലെ ആരിനെയും അർന്നോൻ തീരത്തെ ഗിരിനിവാസികളെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു.

Woe to you, Moab! you are undone, O people of Chemosh: he has given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.മോവാബേ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം! കെമോശിന്റെ ജനമേ, നീ മുടിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ പലായനത്തിന്നും പുത്രിമാരെ അമോർയ്യരാജാവായ സീഹോന്നു അടിമയായും കൊടുത്തു.

We have shot at them; Heshbon is perished even unto Dibon, and we have laid them waste even unto Nophah, which reachs unto Medeba.ഞങ്ങൾ അവരെ അമ്പെയ്തു; ദീബോൻ വരെ ഹെശ്ബോൻ നശിച്ചു; മെദബവരെയുള്ള നോഫയോളം അവരെ ശൂന്യമാക്കി.”

Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽ അമോർയ്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു കുടിപാർത്തു.

And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there.അനന്തരം മോശെ യസേരിനെ ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാൻ ആളയച്ചു; അവർ അതിന്റെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളെ പിടിച്ചു അവിടെയുള്ള അമോർയ്യരെ ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei.പിന്നെ അവർ തിരിഞ്ഞു ബാശാൻ വഴിയായി പോയി; ബാശാൻ രാജാവായ ഓഗ് തന്റെ സകലജനവുമായി അവരുടെനേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു എദ്രെയിൽവെച്ചു പടയേറ്റു.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into your hand, and all his people, and his land; and you shall do to him as you did unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; അവനെയും അവന്റെ സകലജനത്തെയും അവന്റെ ദേശത്തെയും ഞാൻ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ ഹെശ്ബോനിൽ പാർത്ത അമോർയ്യരാജാവായ സീഹോനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവനോടും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

So they stroke him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.അങ്ങനെ അവർ അവനെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അവന്റെ സകലജനത്തെയും ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ സംഹരിച്ചു, അവന്റെ ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

Numbers 22

And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു യെരീഹോവിന്റെ സമീപത്തു യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ മോവാബ് സമഭൂമിയിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.യിസ്രായേൽ അമോർയ്യരോടു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും സിപ്പോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബാലാക്ക് അറിഞ്ഞു.

And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.ജനം വളരെയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മോവാബ് ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെക്കുറിച്ചു മോവാബ് പരിഭ്രമിച്ചു.

And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.മോവാബ് മിദ്യാന്യമൂപ്പന്മാരോടു: കാള വയലിലെ പുല്ലു നക്കിക്കളയുന്നതു പോലെ ഈ കൂട്ടം നമ്മുടെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും നക്കിക്കളയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അക്കാലത്തു മോവാബ്‌രാജാവു സിപ്പോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബാലാക്ക് ആയിരുന്നു.

He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide opposite to me:അവൻ ബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാമിനെ വിളിപ്പാൻ അവന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാരുടെ ദേശത്തു നദീതീരത്തുള്ള പെഥോരിലേക്കു ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: ഒരു ജനം മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു ഭൂതലത്തെ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ എനിക്കെതിരെ പാർക്കുന്നു.

Come now therefore, I pray you, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: possibly I shall prevail, that we may strike them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.നീ വന്നു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ഈ ജനത്തെ ശപിക്കേണമേ; അവർ എന്നെക്കാൾ ഏറ്റവും ബലവാന്മാർ ആയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പക്ഷേ അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഓടിച്ചുകളവാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിവുണ്ടാകുമായിരിക്കും; നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ, നീ ശപിക്കുന്നവൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spoke unto him the words of Balak.മോവാബ്യ മൂപ്പന്മാരും മിദ്യാന്യമൂപ്പന്മാരും കൂടി കയ്യിൽ പ്രശ്നദക്ഷിണയുമായി ബിലെയാമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു ബാലാക്കിന്റെ വാക്കുകളെ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.അവൻ അവരോടു: ഇന്നു രാത്രി ഇവിടെ പാർപ്പിൻ; യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു പോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ഉത്തരം പറയാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ബിലെയാമിനോടു കൂടെ പാർത്തു.

And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with you?ദൈവം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു: നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ഈ മനുഷ്യർ ആരെന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent unto me, saying,ബിലെയാം ദൈവത്തോടു: ഒരു ജനം മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു ഭൂതലത്തെ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ വന്നു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി അവരെ ശപിക്കേണം.

Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covers the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; possibly I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out.പക്ഷേ അവരോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു അവരെ ഓടിച്ചുകളവാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിയും എന്നിങ്ങനെ മോവാബ്‌രാജാവായി സിപ്പോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബാലാക്ക് എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And God said unto Balaam, You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people: for they are blessed.ദൈവം ബിലെയാമിനോടു: നീ അവരോടുകൂടെ പോകരുതു; ആ ജനത്തെ ശപിക്കയും അരുതു; അവർ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ ആകുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuses to give me leave to go with you.ബിലെയാം രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ബാലാക്കിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കു പോകുവിൻ; നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പോരുവാൻ യഹോവ എനിക്കു അനുവാദം തരുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuses to come with us.മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; ബിലെയാമിന്നു ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വരുവാൻ മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they.ബാലാക്ക് വീണ്ടും അവരെക്കാൾ മാന്യരായ അധികം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ അയച്ചു.

And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus says Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray you, hinder you from coming unto me:അവർ ബിലെയാമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു: എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതിന്നു മുടക്കം ഒന്നും പറയരുതേ.

For I will promote you unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever you says unto me: come therefore, I pray you, curse me this people.ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഏറ്റവും ബഹുമാനിക്കും; നീ എന്നോടു പറയുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ ചെയ്യാം; വന്നു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ഈ ജനത്തെ ശപിക്കേണമേ എന്നു സിപ്പോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബാലാക്ക് പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: ബാലാക്ക് തന്റെ ഗൃഹം നിറെച്ചു വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും എനിക്കു തന്നാലും എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന ലംഘിച്ചു ഏറെയോ കുറെയോ ചെയ്‍വാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിയുന്നതല്ല.

Now therefore, I pray you, tarry all of you also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.ആകയാൽ യഹോവ ഇനിയും എന്നോടു എന്തു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യും എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളും ഈ രാത്രി ഇവിടെ പാർപ്പിൻ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call you, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto you, that shall you do.രാത്രിയിൽ ദൈവം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ഇവർ നിന്നെ വിളിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവരോടുകൂടെ പോക; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം മാത്രമേ ചെയ്യാവു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.ബിലെയാം രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കഴുതെക്കു കോപ്പിട്ടു മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പോയി.

And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.അവൻ പോകുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ വഴിയിൽ അവന്നു പ്രതിയോഗിയായി നിന്നു; അവനോ കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറി യാത്ര ചെയ്കയായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ രണ്ടു ബാല്യക്കാരും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam stroke the ass, to turn her into the way.യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ വാൾ ഊരിപ്പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വഴിയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നതു കഴുത കണ്ടു; കഴുത വഴിയിൽ നിന്നു മാറി വയലിലേക്കു പോയി; കഴുതയെ വഴിയിലേക്കു തിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബിലെയാം അതിനെ അടിച്ചു.

But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.പിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ ഇരുപുറവും മതിലുള്ള മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളുടെ ഇടുക്കുവഴിയിൽ നിന്നു.

And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he stroke her again.കഴുത യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ മതിലരികെ ഒതുങ്ങി ബിലെയാമിന്റെ കാൽ മതിലോടു ചേർത്തു ഞെക്കി; അവൻ അതിനെ വീണ്ടും അടിച്ചു.

And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.പിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ മുമ്പോട്ടു ചെന്നു ഇടത്തോട്ടും വലത്തോട്ടും മാറുവാൻ വഴിയില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ഇടുക്കിടയിൽ നിന്നു.

And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he stroke the ass with a staff.യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ കഴുത ബിലെയാമിന്റെ കീഴെകിടന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; ബിലെയാമിന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു അവൻ കഴുതയെ വടികൊണ്ടു അടിച്ചു.

And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto you, that you have smitten me these three times?അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ കഴുതയുടെ വായ് തുറന്നു; അതു ബിലെയാമിനോടു: നീ എന്നെ ഈ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം അടിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Balaam said unto the ass, Because you have mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill you.ബിലെയാം കഴുതയോടു: നീ എന്നെ കളിയാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ. എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഒരു വാൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ നിന്നെ കൊന്നുകളയുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I yours ass, upon which you have ridden ever since I was yours unto this day? was I ever known to do so unto you? And he said, Nay.കഴുത ബിലെയാമിനോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ കഴുതയല്ലയോ? ഇക്കാലമൊക്കെയും എന്റെ പുറത്തല്ലയോ നീ കയറിനടന്നതു? ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴെങ്കിലും ഇങ്ങനെ നിന്നോടു കാണിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഇല്ല എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ ബിലെയാമിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ വാളൂരിപ്പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു നില്ക്കുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു. യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ അവനോടു:

And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore have you smitten yours ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand you, because your way is perverse before me:ഈ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം നീ കഴുതയെ അടിച്ചതു എന്തു? ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രതിയോഗിയായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു: നിന്റെ വഴി നാശകരം എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു.

And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain you, and saved her alive.കഴുത എന്നെ കണ്ടു ഈ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു മാറിപ്പോയി; അതു മാറിപ്പോയിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ നിന്നെ കൊന്നുകളകയും അതിനെ ജീവനോട രക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that you stood in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease you, I will get me back again.ബിലെയാം യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതനോടു: ഞാൻ പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു: നീ എനിക്കു എതിരായി വഴിയിൽനിന്നിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; ഇതു നിനക്കു അനിഷ്ടമെന്നുവരികിൽ ഞാൻ മടങ്ങിപ്പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto you, that you shall speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ ബിലെയാമിനോടു: ഇവരോടുകൂടെ പോക; എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന വചനം മാത്രമേ പറയാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പോകയും ചെയ്തു.

And when Balak heard that Balaam was come, he went out to meet him unto a city of Moab, which is in the border of Arnon, which is in the utmost coast.ബിലെയാം വരുന്നു എന്നു ബാലാക്ക് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അർന്നോൻ തീരത്തു ദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിലുള്ള ഈർമോവാബ് വരെ അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നു.

And Balak said unto Balaam, Did I not earnestly send unto you to call you? wherefore came you not unto me? am I not able indeed to promote you to honour?ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിളിപ്പാൻ ആളയച്ചില്ലയോ? നീ വരാതിരുന്നതു എന്തു? നിന്നെ ബഹുമാനിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു കഴികയില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടു:

And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto you: have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God puts in my mouth, that shall I speak.ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; എന്നാൽ എന്തെങ്കിലും പറവാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിയുമോ? ദൈവം എന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ ആക്കിത്തരുന്ന വചനമേ ഞാൻ പ്രസ്താവിക്കയുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balaam went with Balak, and they came unto Kirjathhuzoth.അങ്ങനെ ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; അവർ കിർയ്യത്ത് - ഹൂസോത്തിൽ എത്തി.

And Balak offered oxen and sheep, and sent to Balaam, and to the princes that were with him.ബാലാക്ക് കാളകളെയും ആടുകളെയും അറുത്തു ബിലെയാമിന്നും അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

And it came to pass on the next day, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might see the utmost part of the people.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനെ ബാമോത്ത്-ബാലിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവിടെനിന്നു അവൻ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഒരു അറ്റം കണ്ടു.

Numbers 23

And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.അനന്തരം ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടു: ഇവിടെ എനിക്കു ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഒരുക്കിനിർത്തുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.ബിലെയാം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ബാലാക്ക് ചെയ്തു; ബാലാക്കും ബിലെയാമും ഓരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു;

And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: possibly the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to an high place.പിന്നെ ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടു: നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിൽക്ക; ഞാൻ അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെല്ലട്ടെ; പക്ഷേ യഹോവ എനിക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകും; അവൻ എന്നെ ദർശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു അറിയിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കുന്നിന്മേൽ കയറി.

And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.ദൈവം ബിലെയാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; ബിലെയാം അവനോടു: ഞാൻ ഏഴു പിഠം ഒരുക്കി ഓരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേൽ ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus you shall speak.എന്നാറെ യഹോവ ഒരു വചനം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ ആക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു: നീ ബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.അവൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു; അവനും മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നിരുന്നു.

And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതു: ബാലാക്ക് എന്നെ അരാമിൽനിന്നും മോവാബ്‌രാജാവു പൂർവ്വപർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും വരുത്തി: ചെന്നു യാക്കോബിനെ ശപിക്ക; ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനെ പ്രാകുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

How shall I curse, whom God has not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD has not defied?ദൈവം ശപിക്കാത്തവനെ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ ശപിക്കും? യഹോവ പ്രാകാത്തവനെ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ പ്രാകും?

For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.ശിലാഗ്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ അവനെ കാണുന്നു; ഗിരികളിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ അവനെ ദർശിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ തനിച്ചു പാർക്കുന്നോരു ജനം; ജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.

Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!യാക്കോബിന്റെ ധൂളിയെ ആർക്കു എണ്ണാം? യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കാലംശത്തെ ആർക്കു ഗണിക്കാം? ഭക്തന്മാർ മരിക്കുമ്പോലെ ഞാൻ മരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അവസാനം അവന്റേതുപോലെ ആകട്ടെ.

And Balak said unto Balaam, What have you done unto me? I took you to curse mine enemies, and, behold, you have blessed them altogether.ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനോടു: നീ എന്നോടു ഈ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ശപിപ്പാനല്ലോ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വരുത്തിയതു? നീയോ അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD has put in my mouth?അതിന്നു അവൻ: യഹോവ എന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ തന്നതു പറവാൻ ഞാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടായോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray you, with me unto another place, from whence you may see them: you shall see but the utmost part of them, and shall not see them all: and curse me them from thence.ബാലാക്ക് അവനോടു: നീ അവരെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടുകൂടെ വരിക; എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ഒരറ്റം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ എല്ലാവരെയും കാണുകയില്ല; അവിടെനിന്നു അവരെ ശപിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ പിസ്ഗകൊടുമുടിയിൽ സോഫീം എന്ന മുകൾപ്പരപ്പിലേക്കു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഓരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

And he said unto Balak, Stand here by your burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.പിന്നെ അവൻ ബാലാക്കിനോടു: ഇവിടെ നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിൽക്ക; ഞാൻ അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെന്നു കാണട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.യഹോവ ബിലെയാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽ ഒരു വചനം കൊടുത്തു: ബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ഇപ്രകാരം പറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What has the LORD spoken?അവൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ മോവാബ്യ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ തന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ബാലാക്ക് അവനോടു: യഹോവ എന്തു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, you son of Zippor:അവൻ സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതു: ബാലാക്കേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു കേൾക്ക; സിപ്പോരിന്റെ പുത്രാ, എനിക്കു ചെവി തരിക.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?വ്യാജം പറവാൻ ദൈവം മനുഷ്യനല്ല; അനുതപിപ്പാൻ അവൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനുമല്ല; താൻ കല്പിച്ചതു ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ? താൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവർത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he has blessed; and I cannot reverse it.അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു കല്പന ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു അതു മറിച്ചുകൂടാ.

He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither has he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.യാക്കോബിൽ തിന്മ കാണ്മാനില്ല; യിസ്രായേലിൽ കഷ്ടത ദർശിപ്പാനുമില്ല; അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; രാജകോലാഹലം അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഉണ്ടു.

God brought them out of Egypt; he has as it were the strength of an unicorn .ദൈവം അവരെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; കാട്ടുപോത്തിന്നു തുല്യമായ ബലം അവന്നു ഉണ്ടു.

Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What has God wrought!ആഭിചാരം യാക്കോബിന്നു പറ്റുകയില്ല; ലക്ഷണവിദ്യ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ഫലിക്കയുമില്ല; ഇപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചും: ദൈവം എന്തെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നേ പറയാവു.

Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.ഇതാ, ജനം സിംഹിയെപ്പോലെ എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുന്നു; ബാലസിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ തെളിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ഇര പിടിച്ചു തിന്നാതെയും നിഹതന്മാരുടെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും കിടക്കയില്ല.

And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.അപ്പോൾ ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനോടു: അവരെ ശപിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I you, saying, All that the LORD speaks, that I must do?ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടു: യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ ചെയ്യും എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray you, I will bring you unto another place; possibly it will please God that you may curse me them from thence.ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനോടു: വരിക, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവിടെനിന്നു നീ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി അവരെ ശപിപ്പാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നു പക്ഷേ സമ്മതമാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looks toward Jeshimon.അങ്ങനെ ബാലാക്ക് ബിലെയാമിനെ മരുഭൂമിക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള പെയോർമലയുടെ മുകളിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
