Acts 19

And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,അപ്പൊല്ലോസ് കൊരിന്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ പൌലോസ് ഉൾപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ കൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു എഫെസോസിൽ എത്തി ചില ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കണ്ടു:

He said unto them, Have all of you received the Holy Spirit since all of you believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit.നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിച്ചിട്ടു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ പ്രാപിച്ചുവോ എന്നു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ഉണ്ടെന്നുപോലും ഞങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were all of you baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.എന്നാൽ ഏതായിരുന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്നാനം എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്: യോഹന്നാൻ മനസാന്തരസ്നാനമത്രേ കഴിപ്പിച്ചു തന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവനായ യേശുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കേണം എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.ഇതു കേട്ടാറെ അവർ കർത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues, and prophesied.പൌലൊസ് അവരുടെ മേൽ കൈവെച്ചപ്പോൾ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു അവരുടെമേൽ വന്നു അവർ അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കയും പ്രവചിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

And all the men were about twelve.ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ എല്ലാം കൂടി പന്ത്രണ്ടോളം ആയിരുന്നു.

And he went into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.പിന്നെ അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്നു ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സംവാദിച്ചും സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു മൂന്നു മാസത്തോളം പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spoke evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.എന്നാൽ ചിലർ കഠിനപ്പെട്ടു അനുസരിക്കാതെ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഈ മാർഗ്ഗത്തെ ദുഷിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ അവരെ വിട്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ വേർതിരിച്ചു, തുറന്നൊസിന്റെ പാഠശാലയിൽ ദിനംപ്രതി സംവാദിച്ചുപോന്നു.

And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.അതു രണ്ടു സംവത്സരത്തോളം നടക്കയാൽ ആസ്യയിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരും യവനന്മാരും എല്ലാം കർത്താവിന്റെ വചനം കേൾപ്പാൻ ഇടയായി.

And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:ദൈവം പൌലൊസ് മുഖാന്തരം അസാധാരണയായ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെ ചെയ്യിക്കയാൽ

So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.അവന്റെ മെയ്മേൽനിന്നു റൂമാലും ഉത്തരീയവും രോഗികളുടെമേൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നിടുകയും വ്യാധികൾ അവരെ വിട്ടുമാറുകയും ദുരാത്മാക്കൾ പുപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.എന്നാൽ ദേശാന്തരികളായി നടക്കുന്ന മന്ത്രവാദികളായ ചില യെഹൂദന്മാർ: പൌലൊസ് പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ആണയിടുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യേശുവിന്റെ നാമം ചൊല്ലുവാൻ തുനിഞ്ഞു.

And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തവർ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ സ്കേവാ എന്ന ഒരു യെഹൂദന്റെ ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു.

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are all of you?ദുരാത്മാവു അവരോടു: യേശുവിനെ ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; പൌലൊസിനെയും പരിചയമുണ്ടു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.പിന്നെ ദുരാത്മാവുള്ള മനുഷ്യൻ അവരുടെമേൽ ചാടി അവരെ ഇരുവരെയും കീഴടക്കി ജയിക്കയാൽ അവർ നഗ്നരും മുറിവേറ്റവരുമായി ആ വീട്ടിൽനിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോയി.

And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.ഇതു എഫേസൊസിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന സകല യെഹൂദന്മാരും യവനന്മാരും അറിഞ്ഞു; അവർക്കു ഒക്കെയും ഭയം തട്ടി, കർത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമം മഹിമപ്പെട്ടു

And many that believed came, and confessed, and showed their deeds.വിശ്വസിച്ചവരിൽ അനേകരും വന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവർത്തികളെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു അറിയിച്ചു.

Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.ക്ഷുദ്രപ്രയോഗം ചെയ്തിരുന്ന പലരും തങ്ങളുടെ പുസ്തകങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എല്ലാവരും കാൺകെ ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു; അവയുടെ വില കണക്കുകൂട്ടിയാറെ അമ്പതിനായിരം വെള്ളിക്കാശു എന്നു കണ്ടു.

So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.ഇങ്ങനെ കർത്താവിന്റെ വചനം ശക്തിയോടെ പരന്നു പ്രബലപ്പെട്ടു.

After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.ഇതു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പൌലൊസ് മക്കെദോന്യയിലും അഖായയിലും കൂടി കടന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കും പോകേണം എന്നു മനസ്സിൽ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു: ഞാൻ അവിടെ ചെന്നശേഷം റോമയും കാണേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.തനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നവരിൽ തിമൊഥെയൊസ്, എരസ്തൊസ് എന്ന രണ്ടുപേരെ മക്കെദോന്യയിലേക്കു അയച്ചിട്ടു താൻ കുറെക്കാലം ആസ്യയിൽ താമസിച്ചു.

And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.ആ കാലത്തു ഈ മാർഗ്ഗത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി വലിയ കലഹം ഉണ്ടായി.

For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;വെള്ളികൊണ്ടു അർത്തെമിസ് ദേവിയുടെ ക്ഷേത്രരൂപങ്ങളെ തീർക്കുന്ന ദെമേത്രിയൊസ് എന്ന തട്ടാൻ തൊഴിൽക്കാർക്കു വളരെ ലാഭം വരുത്തി വന്നു.

Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, all of you know that by this craft we have our wealth.അവൻ അവരെയും ആ വകയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട വേലക്കാരെയും കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി: പുരുഷന്മാരേ, നമ്മുടെ സമ്പാദ്യം ഈ തൊഴിൽകൊണ്ടു ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ബോദ്ധ്യമല്ലോ.

Moreover all of you see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:എന്നാൽ ഈ പൌലൊസ് എന്നവൻ കയ്യാൽ തീർത്തതു ദേവന്മാർ അല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു എഫെസൊസിൽ മാത്രമല്ല, മിക്കവാറും ആസ്യയിൽ ഒക്കെയും വളരെ ജനങ്ങളെ സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടും കേട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nothing; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worships.അതിനാൽ നമ്മുടെ ഈ കാര്യം ആക്ഷേപത്തിൽ ആകുവാൻ അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതുമല്ലാതെ അർത്തെമിസ് മഹാദേവിയുടെ ക്ഷേത്രം ഏതുമില്ല എന്നു വരികയും ആസ്യമുഴുവനും ഭൂതലവും ഭജിച്ചുപോരുന്നവളുടെ മാഹാത്മ്യം ഒടുങ്ങിപ്പോകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.അവർ ഇതു കേട്ടു ക്രോധം നിറഞ്ഞവരായി: എഫെസ്യരുടെ അർത്തെമിസ് മഹാദേവി എന്നു ആർത്തു.

And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.പട്ടണം മുഴുവനും കലഹം കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു, അവർ പൌലൊസിന്റെ കൂട്ടുയാത്രക്കാരായ ഗായൊസ് അരിസ്തർഹോസ് എന്ന മക്കെദോന്യരെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു രംഗസ്ഥലത്തേക്കു ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു പാഞ്ഞു ചെന്നു.

And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.പൌലൊസ് ജനസമൂഹത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചാറെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനെ വിട്ടില്ല.

And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.ആസ്യധിപന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ അവന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർ ആകയാൽ: രംഗസ്ഥലത്തു ചെന്നു പോകരുതു എന്നു അവരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.ജനസംഘം കലക്കത്തിലായി മിക്കപേരും തങ്ങൾ വന്നുകൂടിയ സംഗതി എന്തെന്നു അറിയായ്കയാൽ ചിലർ ഇങ്ങനെയും ചിലർ അങ്ങനെയും ആർത്തു.

And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.യെഹൂദന്മാർ മുമ്പോട്ടു ഉന്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന അലക്സന്തരിനെ പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ചിലർ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു; അലക്സാന്തർ ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടി ജനസമൂഹത്തോടു പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.

But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.എന്നാൽ അവൻ യെഹൂദൻ എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ: എഫെസ്യരുടെ അർത്തെമിസ് മഹാദേവി എന്നു എല്ലാവരും കൂടി രണ്ടു മണിനേരത്തോളം ഏകശബ്ദത്തോടെ ആർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And when the public clerk had appeased the people, he said, All of you men of Ephesus, what man is there that knows not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?പിന്നെ പട്ടണമേനവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെ അമർത്തി പറഞ്ഞതു: എഫെസ്യപുരുഷന്മാരേ, എഫെസോസ് പട്ടണം അർത്തെമിസ് മഹാദേവിക്കും ദ്യോവിൽനിന്നു വീണ ബിംബത്തിന്നും ക്ഷേത്രപലക എന്നു അറിയാത്ത മനുഷ്യൻ ആർ?

³⁶

Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, all of you ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.ഇതു എതിർമൊഴിയില്ലാത്തതാകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ തിടുക്കമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ അടങ്ങിപ്പാർക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

³⁷

For all of you have brought here these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.ഈ പുരുഷന്മാരെ നിങ്ങൾ കൂട്ടികൊണ്ടുവന്നുവല്ലോ; അവർ ക്ഷേത്രം കവർച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നവരല്ല, നമ്മുടെ ദേവിയെ ദുഷിക്കുന്നവരുമല്ല.

³⁸

Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them sue one another.എന്നാൽ ദെമേത്രിയൊസിന്നും കൂടെയുള്ള തൊഴിൽക്കാർക്കും വല്ലവന്റെയും നേരെ ഒരു സംഗതി ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ വിസ്താരദിവസങ്ങൾ വെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു, ദേശാധിപതികളും ഉണ്ടു; തമ്മിൽ വ്യവഹരിക്കട്ടെ.

But if all of you enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.വേറെ കാര്യം ചൊല്ലി ആകുന്നു വാദം എങ്കിൽ ധർമ്മസഭയില്‍ തീർക്കാമല്ലോ.

For we are in danger to be called in question for this day's uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.ഇന്നത്തെ കലഹത്തിന്നു കാരണമില്ലായ്കയാൽ അതു നിമിത്തം നമ്മുടെ പേരിൽ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുവാൻ ഇടയുണ്ടു സ്പഷ്ടം; ഈ ആൾക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു ഉത്തരം പറവാൻ നമുക്കു വക ഒന്നുമില്ലല്ലോ.

And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു അവൻ സഭയയെ പിരിച്ചുവിട്ടു.

Acts 20

And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed in order to go into Macedonia.കലഹം ശമിച്ചശേഷം പൌലൊസ് ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു യാത്രപറഞ്ഞു മക്കെദോന്യെക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോയി.

And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,ആ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ കൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു അവരെ ഏറിയോന്നു പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു യവനദേശത്തു എത്തി.

And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.അവിടെ മൂന്നു മാസം കഴിച്ചിട്ടു സുറിയെക്കു കപ്പൽ കയറിപ്പോകുവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുമ്പോൾ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവന്റെ നേരെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയാൽ മക്കെദോന്യവഴിയായി മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാൻ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.ബെരോവയിലെ പുറൊസിന്റെ മകൻ സോപത്രൊസും തെസ്സലോനിക്ക്യരായ അരിസ്തർഹൊസും സെക്കുന്തൊസും ദെർബ്ബെക്കാരനായ ഗായൊസും തിമൊഥെയൊസും ആസ്യക്കാരായ തുഹിക്കൊസും ത്രൊഫിമൊസും ആസ്യവരെ അവനോടു കൂടെ പോയി.

These going before tarried for us at Troas.അവർ മുമ്പെ പോയി ത്രോവാസിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി കാത്തിരുന്നു.

And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.ഞങ്ങളോ പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പെരുനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഫിലിപ്പിയിൽ നിന്നു കപ്പൽ കയറി അഞ്ചു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു ത്രോവാസിൽ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി, ഏഴു ദിവസം അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the next day; and continued his speech until midnight.ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അപ്പം നുറുക്കുവാൻ കൂടിവന്നപ്പോൾ പൌലൊസ് പിറ്റെന്നാൾ പുറപ്പെടുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവരോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചു പാതിരവരെയും പ്രസംഗം നീട്ടി.

And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.ഞങ്ങൾ കൂടിയിരുന്ന മാളികയിൽ വളരെ വിളക്കു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവിടെ യൂത്തിക്കൊസ് എന്ന യൌവനക്കാരൻ കിളിവാതിൽക്കൽ ഇരുന്നു ഗാഢനിദ്ര പിടിച്ചു.

And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third upper room, and was taken up dead.പൌലൊസ് വളരെ നേരം സംഭാഷിക്കയാൽ നിദ്രാവശനായി മൂന്നാം തട്ടിൽ നിന്നു താഴെ വീണു; അവനെ മരിച്ചവനായി എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.പൌലൊസ് ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവന്റെമേൽ വീണു തഴുകി ഭ്രമിക്കേണ്ടാ; അവന്റെ പ്രാണൻ അവനിൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.പിന്നെ അവൻ കയറിച്ചെന്നു അപ്പം നുറുക്കി തിന്നു പുലരുവോളം സംഭാഷിച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോയി.

And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.അവർ ആ ബാലനെ ജീവനുള്ളവനായി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അത്യന്തം ആശ്വസിച്ചു.

And we went on board ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go on foot.ഞങ്ങൾ മുമ്പായി കപ്പല്‍ കയറി പൌലൊസിനെ അസ്സൊസിൽ വെച്ചു കയറ്റിക്കൊൾവാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു അവിടേക്കു ഓടി; അവൻ കാൽനടയായി വരുവാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു ഇങ്ങനെ ചട്ടംകെട്ടിയിരുന്നു.

And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.അവൻ അസ്സൊസിൽ ഞങ്ങളോടു ചേർന്നപ്പോൾ അവനെ കയറ്റി മിതുലേനയിൽ എത്തി;

And we sailed thence, and came the next day opposite to Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.അവിടെ നിന്നു നീക്കി, പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ഖിയൊസ് ദ്വീപിന്റെ തൂക്കിൽ എത്തി, മറുനാൾ സാമൊസ് ദ്വീപിൽ അണഞ്ഞു. പിറ്റേന്നു മിലേത്തൊസിൽ എത്തി.

For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.കഴിയും എങ്കിൽ പെന്തകൊസ്തു നാളേക്കു യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു പൌലൊസ് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുകയാൽ ആസ്യയിൽ കാലതാമസം വരരുതു എന്നുവെച്ചു എഫെസൊസിൽ അടുക്കാതെ ഓടേണം എന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.മിലേത്തൊസിൽ നിന്നു അവൻ എഫെസൊസിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു സഭയിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ വരുത്തി.

And when they were come to him, he said unto them, All of you know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,അവർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു:

Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:ഞാൻ ആസ്യയിൽ വന്ന ഒന്നാം നാൾ മുതൽ എല്ലായ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ എങ്ങനെയിരുന്നു എന്നും വളരെ താഴ്മയോടും കണ്ണുനീരോടും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുകളാൽ എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടായ കഷ്ടങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ

And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,കർത്താവിനെ സേവിച്ചു വന്നു എന്നും പ്രായോജനമുള്ളതു ഒന്നും മറെച്ചുവെക്കാതെ പരസ്യമായും വീടുതോറും നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയക്കയും ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്തു എന്നും

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കുള്ള മാനസാന്തരവും നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസവും യെഹൂദന്മാർക്കും യവനന്മാർക്കും സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ ഞാൻ ആത്മാവിനാൽ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവാനയി യേരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു.

Save that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.ബന്ധനങ്ങളും കഷ്ടങ്ങളും എനിക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു പട്ടണം തോറും സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ അവിടെ എനിക്കു നേരിടുവാനുള്ള ഒന്നും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല.

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ വിലയേറിയതായി എണ്ണുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ ഓട്ടവും ദൈവകൃപയുടെ സുവിശേഷത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു കർത്താവായ യേശുതന്ന ശുശ്രൂഷയും തികെക്കേണം എന്നേ എനിക്കുള്ളു.

And now, behold, I know that all of you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ദൈവരാജ്യം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നടന്നവനായ എന്റെ മുഖം നിങ്ങൾ ആരും ഇനി കാൺകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും നശിച്ചുപോയാൽ ഞാൻ കുറ്റക്കാരനല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇന്നേ ദിവസം നിങ്ങളോടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചന ഒട്ടും മറെച്ചുവെക്കാതെ ഞാൻ മുഴുവനും അറിയിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേയും താൻ സ്വന്തരക്തത്താൽ സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഭയെ മേയ്പാൻ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിങ്ങളെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷരാക്കിവെച്ച ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടം മുഴുവനെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.ഞാൻ പോയ ശേഷം ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെ ആദരിക്കാത്ത കൊടിയ ചെന്നായ്ക്കൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കടക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ തങ്ങളുടെ പിന്നാലെ വലിച്ചുകളവാനായി വിപരീതോപദേശം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നും എഴുന്നേല്ക്കും.

Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.അതു കൊണ്ടു ഉണർന്നിരിപ്പിൻ; ഞാൻ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം രാപ്പകൽ ഇടവിടാതെ കണ്ണുനീർ വാർത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ഓരോരുത്തന്നു ബുദ്ധിപറഞ്ഞുതന്നതു ഓർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആത്മികവർദ്ധന വരുത്തുവാനും സകല വിശുദ്ധന്മാരോടുംകൂടെ അവകാശം തരുവാനും കഴിയുന്ന ദൈവത്തിലും അവന്റെ കൃപയുടെ വചനത്തിലും ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളെ ഭരമേല്പിക്കുന്നു.

I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.ആരുടെയും വെള്ളിയോ പൊന്നോ വസ്ത്രമോ ഞാൻ മോഹിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

Yea, all of you yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.എന്റെ മുട്ടിനും എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർക്കും വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ ഈ കൈകളാൽ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചു എന്നു നങ്ങൾ തന്നേ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

I have showed you all things, how that so labouring all of you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രയത്നം ചെയ്തു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ലാത്തവരെ സാഹായിക്കയും, വാങ്ങുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു ഭാഗ്യം എന്നു കർത്താവായ യേശുതാൻ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഓർത്തുകൊൾകയും വേണ്ടതു എന്നു ഞാൻ എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ മുട്ടുകുത്തി അവരെല്ലാവരോടും കൂടെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,എല്ലാവരും വളരെ കരഞ്ഞു.

Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.ഇനിമേൽ അവന്റെ മുഖം കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കിനാൽ അവർ ഏറ്റവും ദുഃഖിച്ചു പൌലൊസിന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു കപ്പലോളം അവനോടുകൂടെ വന്നു അവനെ യാത്രയയച്ചു.

Acts 21

And it came to pass, that after we were got from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞു നീക്കിയശേഷം ഞങ്ങൾ നേരെ ഓടി കോസിലും പിറ്റെന്നാൾ രൊദൊസിലും അവിടം വിട്ടു പത്തരയിലും എത്തി.

And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.ഫൊയ്നീക്ക്യയിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന ഒരു കപ്പൽ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഞങ്ങൾ അതിൽ കയറി ഓടി.

Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unload her burden.കുപ്രോസ് ദ്വീപു കണ്ടു അതിനെ ഇടത്തുപുറം വിട്ടു സുറിയയിലേക്കു ഓടി സോരിൽ വന്നിറങ്ങി; കപ്പൽ അവിടെ ചരക്കു ഇറക്കുവാനുള്ളതായിരുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കണ്ടെത്തി, ഏഴുനാൾ അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.അവർ പൌലൊസിനോടു യെരൂശലേമിൽ പോകുരുതു എന്നു ആത്മാവിനാൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.അവിടത്തെ താമസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞങ്ങൾ വിട്ടുപോകുമ്പോൾ അവർ എല്ലാവരും സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളുമായി

And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.ഞങ്ങൾ സോർ വിട്ടു കപ്പലോട്ടം തികെച്ചു പ്തൊലെമായിസിൽ എത്തി സഹോദരന്മാരെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്തു ഒരു ദിവസം അവരോടുകൂടെ പാർത്തു.

And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ഞങ്ങൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടു കൈസര്യയിൽ എത്തി, ഏഴുവരിൽ ഒരുവനായ ഫിലപ്പൊസ് എന്ന സുവിശേഷകന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാർത്തു.

And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.അവന്നു കന്യകമാരും പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവരുമായ നാലു പുത്രിമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.ഞങ്ങൾ അവിടെ വളരെ ദിവസം പാർത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അഗബൊസ് എന്ന ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ നിന്നു വന്നു.

And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus says the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owns this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.അവൻ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു പൌലൊസിന്റെ അരക്കച്ച എടുത്തു തന്റെ കൈകാലുകളെ കെട്ടി: ഈ അരക്കച്ചയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥനെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ കെട്ടി ജാതികളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.ഇതു കേട്ടാറെ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പോകരുതു എന്നു ഞങ്ങളും അവിടത്തുകാരും അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

Then Paul answered, What mean all of you to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്: നിങ്ങൾ കരഞ്ഞു എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഇങ്ങനെ തകർക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? കർത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ മാത്രമല്ല യെരൂശലേമിൽ മരിപ്പാനും ഞാൻ ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.അവനെ സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചുകൂടായ്കയാൽ: കർത്താവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നടക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങൾ മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.അവിടത്തെ താമസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞങ്ങൾ യാത്രെക്കു കോപ്പുകൂട്ടി യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോയി.

There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.കൈസര്യയിലെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ചിലരും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പോന്നു, കുപ്രൊസ്കാരനായ മ്നാസോൻ എന്ന ഒരു പഴയശിഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ അതിഥികളായ്പാർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തിപ്പോൾ സഹോദരന്മാർ ഞങ്ങളെ സന്തോഷത്തോട കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.

And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.പിറ്റെന്നു പൌലെസും ഞങ്ങളും യാക്കോബിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി; മൂപ്പന്മാരും എല്ലാം അവിടെ വന്നു കൂടി.

And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.അവൻ അവരെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്തു തന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷയാൽ ദൈവം ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചെയ്യിച്ചതു ഓരോന്നായി വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:അവർ കേട്ടു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി. പിന്നെ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: സഹോദരാ, യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർ എത്ര ആയിരം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നീ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവർ എല്ലാവരും ന്യായപ്രമാണതല്പരന്മാർ ആകുന്നു.

And they are informed of you, that you teach all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.മക്കളെ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും നമ്മുടെ മര്യാദ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കരുതു എന്നും നീ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള സകല യെഹൂദന്മാരോടും പറഞ്ഞു മോശെയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളവാൻ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവർ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

What is it therefore? the multitude must essentially come together: for they will hear that you are come.ആകയാൽ എന്താകുന്നു വേണ്ടതു? നീ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു അവർ കേൾക്കും നിശ്ചയം.

Do therefore this that we say to you: We have four men which have a vow on them;ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോടു ഈ പറയുന്നതു ചെയ്ക; നേർച്ചയുള്ള നാലു പുരുഷന്മാർ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടു.

Them take, and purify yourself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning you, are nothing; but that you yourself also walk orderly, and keep the law.അവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടുകൂടെ നിന്നെ ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തി അവരുടെ തല ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി ചെലവു ചെയ്ക; എന്നാൽ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു കേട്ടതു ഉള്ളതല്ല എന്നും നീയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ആചരിച്ചു ക്രമമായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ എന്നും എല്ലാവരും അറിയും.

As concerning the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചോ അവർ വിഗ്രഹാർപ്പിതവും രക്തവും ശ്വാസംമുട്ടിച്ചത്തതും പരസംഗവും മാത്രം ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കേണം എന്നു വിധിച്ചു എഴുതി അയച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.അങ്ങനെ പൌലൊസ് ആ പുരുഷന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവരോടുകൂടെ തന്നെ ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തി ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു; അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തന്നുവേണ്ടി വഴിപാടു കഴിപ്പാനുള്ള ശുദ്ധീകരണകാലം തികഞ്ഞു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,ആ ഏഴു ദിവസം തീരാറായപ്പോൾ ആസ്യയിൽ നിന്നു വന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ കണ്ടിട്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഒക്കെയും ഇളക്കി അവനെ പിടിച്ചു;

Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teaches all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and has polluted this holy place.യിസ്രായേൽപുരുഷന്മാരേ, സഹായിപ്പിൻ ഇവൻ ആകുന്നു ജനത്തിന്നും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നും ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായി എല്ലായിടത്തും എല്ലാവരെയും ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നവൻ; അവൻ യവനന്മാരെയും ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ഈ വിശുദ്ധ സ്ഥലം തീണ്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു വിളിച്ചുകൂകി.

(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)അവർ മുമ്പെ എഫെസ്യനായ ത്രോഫിമോസിനെ അവനോടുകൂടെ നഗരത്തിൽ കണ്ടതിനാൽ പൌലൊസ് അവനെ ദൈവാലത്തിൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിച്ചു.

And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.നഗരം എല്ലാം ഇളകി ജനം ഓടിക്കൂടി പൌലൊസിനെ പിടിച്ചു ദൈവാലയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; ഉടനെ വാതിലുകൾ അടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.അവർ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുമ്പോൾ യെരൂശലേം ഒക്കെയും കലക്കത്തിൽ ആയി എന്നു പട്ടാളത്തിന്റെ സഹസ്രാധിപന്നു വർത്തമാനം എത്തി.

Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.അവൻ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ പടയാളികളെയും ശതാധിപന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുവന്നു; അവർ സഹസ്രാധിപനെയും പടയാളികളെയും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ പൌലൊസിനെ അടിക്കുന്നതു നിറുത്തി.

Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.സഹസ്രാധിപൻ അടത്തുവന്നു അവനെ പിടിച്ചു രണ്ടു ചങ്ങലവെപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു; ആർ എന്നും എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നും ചോദിച്ചു.

And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ചിലർ ഇങ്ങനെയും ചിലർ അങ്ങനെയും നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; ആരവാരം ഹേതുവായി നിശ്ചയം ഒന്നും അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടായ്കയാൽ അവനെ കോട്ടയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.പടിക്കെട്ടിന്മേൽആയപ്പോൾ: അവനെ കൊന്നുകളക എന്നു ആർത്തുകൊണ്ടു ജനസമൂഹം പിൻചെല്ലുകയാൽ

For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ ബലാൽക്കാരം പേടിച്ചിട്ടു പടയാളികൾ അവനെ എടുക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto you? Who said, Can you speak Greek?കോട്ടയിൽ കടക്കുമാറായപ്പോൾ പൌലൊസ് സഹസ്രാധിപനോടു: എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു ഒരു വാക്കു പറയാമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവൻ: നിനക്കു യവനഭാഷ അറിയാമോ?

Are not you that Egyptian, which before these days made an uproar, and led out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?കുറെ നാൾ മുമ്പെ കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കി നാലായിരം കട്ടാരക്കാരെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയ മിസ്രയീമ്യൻ നീ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I plead to you, suffer me to speak unto the people.അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്: ഞാൻ കിലിക്യയിൽ തർസൊസ് എന്ന പ്രസിദ്ധനഗരത്തിലെ പൌരനായോരു യെഹൂദൻ ആകുന്നു. ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ അനുവദിക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people.
