Exodus 15

Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spoke, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider has he thrown into the sea.മോശെയും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളും അന്നു യഹോവെക്കു സങ്കീർത്തനം പാടി ചൊല്ലിയതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: ഞാൻ യഹോവെക്കു പാട്ടുപാടും, അവൻ മഹോന്നതൻ: കുതിരയെയും അതിന്മേൽ ഇരുന്നവനെയും അവൻ കടലിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.എന്റെ ബലവും എന്റെ ഗീതവും യഹോവയത്രേ; അവൻ എനിക്കു രക്ഷയായ്തീർന്നു. അവൻ എന്റെ ദൈവം; ഞാൻ അവനെ സ്തുതിക്കും; അവൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിൻ ദൈവം; ഞാൻ അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തും.

The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.യഹോവ യുദ്ധവീരൻ; യഹോവ എന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

Pharaoh's chariots and his host has he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.ഫറവോന്റെ രഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും അവൻ കടലിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അവന്റെ രഥിപ്രവരന്മാർ ചെങ്കടലിൽ മുങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.ആഴി അവരെ മൂടി; അവർ കല്ലുപോലെ ആഴത്തിൽ താണു.

Your right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: your right hand, O LORD, has dashed in pieces the enemy.യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ ബലത്തിൽ മഹത്വപ്പെട്ടു; യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ ശത്രുവിനെ തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

And in the greatness of yours excellency you have overthrown them that rose up against you: you sent forth your wrath, which consumed them as stubble.നീ എതിരാളികളെ മഹാപ്രഭാവത്താൽ സംഹരിക്കുന്നു; നീ നിന്റെ ക്രോധം അയക്കുന്നു; അതു അവരെ താളടിയെപ്പോലെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

And with the blast of your nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.നിന്റെ മൂക്കിലെ ശ്വാസത്താൽ വെള്ളം കുന്നിച്ചുകൂടി; പ്രവാഹങ്ങൾ ചിറപോലെ നിന്നു; ആഴങ്ങൾ കടലിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ഉറെച്ചുപോയി.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.ഞാൻ പിന്തുടരും, പിടിക്കും, കൊള്ള പങ്കിടും; എന്റെ ആശ അവരാൽ പൂർത്തിയാകും; ഞാൻ എന്റെ വാൾ ഊരും; എന്റെ കൈ അവരെ നിഗ്രഹിക്കും എന്നു ശത്രു പറഞ്ഞു.

You did blow with your wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.നിന്റെ കാറ്റിനെ നീ ഊതിച്ചു, കടൽ അവരെ മൂടി; അവർ ഈയംപോലെ പെരുവെള്ളത്തിൽ താണു.

Who is like unto you, O LORD, among the gods? who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?യഹോവേ, ദേവന്മാരിൽ നിനക്കു തുല്യൻ ആർ? വിശുദ്ധിയിൽ മഹിമയുള്ളവനേ, സ്തുതികളിൽ ഭയങ്കരനേ, അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവനേ, നിനക്കു തുല്യൻ ആർ?

You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them.നീ വലങ്കൈ നീട്ടി, ഭൂമി അവരെ വിഴുങ്ങി.

You in your mercy have led forth the people which you have redeemed: you have guided them in your strength unto your holy habitation.നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്ത ജനത്തെ ദയയാൽ നടത്തി; നിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനിവാസത്തിലേക്കു നിന്റെ ബലത്താൽ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.ജാതികൾ കേട്ടു നടങ്ങുന്നു. ഫെലിസ്ത്യനിവാസികൾക്കു ഭീതിപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.എദോമ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ഭ്രമിച്ചു; മോവാബ്യമുമ്പന്മാർക്കു കമ്പം പിടിച്ചു; കനാന്യ നിവാസികളെല്ലാം ഉരുകിപ്പോകുന്നു.

Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of yours arm they shall be as still as a stone; till your people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which you have purchased.ഭയവും ഭീതിയും അവരുടെമേൽ വീണു, നിൻഭുജമാഹാത്മ്യത്താൽ അവർ കല്ലുപോലെ ആയി; അങ്ങനെ, യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ ജനം കടന്നു, നീ സമ്പാദിച്ച ജനം കടന്നു പോയി.

You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of yours inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which you have made for you to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which your hands have established.നീ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്നൊരുക്കിയ സ്ഥാനത്തു, യഹോവേ, നിന്നവകാശപർവ്വതത്തിൽ നീ അവരെ നട്ടു, കർത്താവേ, തൃക്കൈ സ്ഥാപിച്ച വിശുദ്ധ മന്ദിരത്തിങ്കൽ തന്നേ.

The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.യഹോവ എന്നും എന്നേക്കും രാജാവായി വാഴും.

For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.എന്നാൽ ഫറവോന്റെ കുതിര അവന്റെ രഥവും കുതിരപ്പടയുമായി കടലിന്റെ നടുവിൽ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നപ്പോൾ യഹോവ കടലിലെ വെള്ളം അവരുടെ മേൽ മടക്കി വരുത്തി; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോ കടലിന്റെ നടുവിൽ ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തുകൂടി കടന്നു പോന്നു.

And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.അഹരോന്റെ സഹോദരി മിർയ്യാം എന്ന പ്രവാചകി കയ്യിൽ തപ്പു എടുത്തു, സ്ത്രീകൾ എല്ലാവരും തപ്പുകളോടും നൃത്തങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ അവളുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു.

And Miriam answered them, Sing all of you to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider has he thrown into the sea.മിർയ്യാം അവരോടും പ്രതിഗാനമായി ചൊല്ലിയതു: യഹോവെക്കു പാട്ടുപാടുവിൻ, അവൻ മഹോന്നതൻ: കുതിരയെയും അതിന്മേൽ ഇരുന്നവനെയും അവൻ കടലിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.അനന്തരം മോശെ യിസ്രായേലിനെ ചെങ്കടലിൽനിന്നു പ്രയാണം ചെയ്യിച്ചു; അവർ ശൂർമരുഭൂമിയിൽ ചെന്നു, മൂന്നു ദിവസം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വെള്ളം കിട്ടാതെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.മാറയിൽ എത്തിയാറെ, മാറയിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതു കൈപ്പുള്ളതായിരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിന്നു മാറാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?അപ്പോൾ ജനം: ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു മോശെയുടെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുത്തു.

And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,അവൻ യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്നു ഒരു വൃക്ഷം കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. അവൻ അതു വെള്ളത്തിൽ ഇട്ടപ്പോൾ വെള്ളം മധുരമായി തീർന്നു. അവിടെവെച്ചു അവൻ അവർക്കു ഒരു ചട്ടവും പ്രമാണവും നിയമിച്ചു; അവിടെവെച്ചു അവൻ അവരെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു:

And said, If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals you.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു നീ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേട്ടു അവന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു ചെയ്കയും അവന്റെ കല്പനകളെ അനുസരിച്ചു അവന്റെ സകല വിധികളും പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ ഞാൻ മിസ്രയീമ്യർക്കു വരുത്തിയ വ്യാധികളിൽ ഒന്നും നിനക്കു വരുത്തുകയില്ല; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.പിന്നെ അവർ ഏലീമിൽ എത്തി; അവിടെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു നീരുറവും എഴുപതു ഈത്തപ്പനയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ അവിടെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

Exodus 16

And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.അവർ ഏലീമിൽനിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിനഞ്ചാം തിയ്യതി അവരുടെ സംഘം ഒക്കെയും ഏലീമിന്നും സീനായിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ഉള്ള സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ വന്നു.

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:ആ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ സംഘം ഒക്കെയും മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുത്തു.

And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for all of you have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അവരോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ ഇറച്ചിക്കലങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലിരിക്കയും തൃപ്തിയാകുംവണ്ണം ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്ത മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു വെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യാൽ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സംഘത്തെ മുഴുവനും പട്ടിണിയിട്ടു കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു അപ്പം വർഷിപ്പിക്കും; ജനം എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുമോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാൻ അവരെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഓരോ ദിവസത്തേക്കു വേണ്ടതു അന്നന്നു പെറുക്കി ക്കൊള്ളേണം.

And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.എന്നാൽ ആറാം ദിവസം അവർ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതു ഒരുക്കുമ്പോൾ ദിവസംപ്രതി പെറുക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഇരട്ടി കാണും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then all of you shall know that the LORD has brought you out from the land of Egypt:മോശെയും അഹരോനും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു ഒക്കെയും: നിങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു യഹോവ തന്നേ എന്നു ഇന്നു വൈകുന്നേരം നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.

And in the morning, then all of you shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he hears your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that all of you murmur against us?പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു കാണും; യഹോവയുടെ നേരെയുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു അവൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുക്കുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD hears your murmurings which all of you murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.മോശെ പിന്നെയും: യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നുവാൻ വൈകുന്നേരത്തു മാംസവും പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു തൃപ്തിയാകുംവണ്ണം അപ്പവും തരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും; യഹോവയുടെ നേരെ നിങ്ങൾ പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു അവൻ കേൾക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തുള്ളു? നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെയല്ല, യഹോവയുടെ നേരെയത്രേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses spoke unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he has heard your murmurings.അഹരോനോടു: മോശെ: യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അടുത്തുവരുവിൻ; അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസംഘത്തോടും പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, as Aaron spoke unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.അഹരോൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസംഘത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ മരുഭൂമിക്കു നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു മേഘത്തിൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even all of you shall eat flesh, and in the morning all of you shall be filled with bread; and all of you shall know that I am the LORD your God.നീ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ വൈകുന്നേരത്തു മാംസം തിന്നും; പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു തൃപ്തരാകും; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും എന്നു പറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.വൈകുന്നേരം കാടകൾ വന്നു പാളയത്തെ മൂടി; പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു പാളയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും മഞ്ഞു വീണുകിടന്നു.

And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.വീണുകിടന്ന മഞ്ഞു മാറിയ ശേഷം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ എല്ലാടവും ചെതുമ്പലിന്റെ മാതിരിയിൽ ഒരു നേരിയ വസ്തു ഉറെച്ച മഞ്ഞുപോലെ നിലത്തു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they know not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അതുകണ്ടാറെ എന്തെന്നു അറിയായ്കയാൽ ഇതെന്തു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ ചോദിച്ചു. മോശെ അവരോടു: ഇതു യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ആഹാരം ആകുന്നു.

This is the thing which the LORD has commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take all of you every man for them which are in his tents.ഓരോരുത്തന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നെടത്തോളം പെറുക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ; താന്താന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലുള്ളവരുടെ എണ്ണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം ആളൊന്നിന്നു ഇടങ്ങഴിവീതം എടുത്തുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു. ചിലർ ഏറെയും ചിലർ കുറെയും പെറുക്കി.

And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.ഇടങ്ങഴികൊണ്ടു അളന്നപ്പോൾ ഏറെ പെറുക്കിയവന്നു ഏറെയും കുറെ പെറുക്കിയവന്നു കുറവും കണ്ടില്ല; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നെടത്തോളം പെറുക്കിയിരുന്നു.

And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.പിറ്റെന്നാളേക്കു ആരും ഒട്ടും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കരുതെന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു.

Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was angry with them.എങ്കിലും ചിലർ മോശെയെ അനുസരിക്കാതെ പിറ്റെന്നാളേക്കു കുറെ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു; അതു കൃമിച്ചു നാറി; മോശെ അവരോടു കോപിച്ചു.

And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.അവർ രാവിലെതോറും അവനവന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നേടത്തോളം പെറുക്കും; വെയിൽ മൂക്കുമ്പോൾ അതു ഉരുകിപ്പോകും.

And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.എന്നാൽ ആറാം ദിവസം അവർ ആളൊന്നിന്നു ഈരണ്ടിടങ്ങഴിവീതം ഇരട്ടി ആഹാരം ശേഖരിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ സംഘപ്രമാണികൾ എല്ലാവരും വന്നു മൊശെയോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD has said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which all of you will bake to day, and seethe that all of you will seethe; and that which remains over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.അവൻ അവരോടു: അതു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതു തന്നേ; നാളെ സ്വസ്ഥത ആകുന്നു; യഹോവെക്കു വിശുദ്ധമായുള്ള ശബ്ബത്തു. ചുടുവാനുള്ളതു ചുടുവിൻ; പാകം ചെയ്‍വാനുള്ളതു പാകം ചെയ്‍വിൻ; ശേഷിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നാളത്തേക്കു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെപ്പിൻ.

And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവർ അതു പിറ്റെന്നാളേക്കു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെച്ചു; അതു നാറിപ്പോയില്ല, കൃമിച്ചതുമില്ല.

And Moses said, Eat that to day; in order to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day all of you shall not find it in the field.അപ്പോൾ മോശെ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇതു ഇന്നു ഭക്ഷിപ്പിൻ; ഇന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; ഇന്നു അതു വെളിയിൽ കാണുകയില്ല.

Six days all of you shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.ആറു ദിവസം നിങ്ങൾ അതു പെറുക്കേണം; ശബ്ബത്തായ ഏഴാം ദിവസത്തിലോ അതു ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day in order to gather, and they found none.എന്നാൽ ഏഴാം ദിവസം ജനത്തിൽ ചിലർ പെറുക്കുവാൻ പോയാറെ കണ്ടില്ല.

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse all of you to keep my commandments and my laws?അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ന്യായപ്രമാണങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എത്രത്തോളം മനസ്സില്ലാതിരിക്കും?

See, for that the LORD has given you the sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide all of you every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.നോക്കുവിൻ, യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ശബ്ബത്ത് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ആറാം ദിവസം അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു രണ്ടു ദിവസത്തേക്കുള്ള ആഹാരം തരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ താന്താങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു ഇരിപ്പിൻ; ഏഴാം ദിവസം ആരും തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

So the people rested on the seventh day.അങ്ങനെ ജനം ഏഴാം ദിവസം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരുന്നു.

And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.യിസ്രായേല്യർ ആ സാധനത്തിന്നു മന്നാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; അതു കൊത്തമ്പാലരിപോലെയും വെള്ളനിറമുള്ളതും തേൻ കൂട്ടിയ ദോശയോടൊത്ത രുചിയുള്ളതും ആയിരുന്നു.

And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commands, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.പിന്നെ മോശെ: യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം ആവിതു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ തന്ന ആഹാരം നിങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറകൾ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെപ്പാൻ അതിൽനിന്നു ഒരിടങ്ങഴി നിറച്ചെടുക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.അഹരോനോടു മോശെ: ഒരു പാത്രം എടുത്തു അതിൽ ഒരു ഇടങ്ങഴി മന്നാ ഇട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറകൾക്കുവേണ്ടി സൂക്ഷിപ്പാൻ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വെച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അഹരോൻ അതു സാക്ഷ്യ സന്നിധിയിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെച്ചു.

And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.കുടിപാർപ്പുള്ള ദേശത്തു എത്തുവോളം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം മന്നാ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു. കനാൻ ദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിൽ എത്തുവോളം അവർ മന്നാ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു.

Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.ഒരു ഇടങ്ങഴി (ഓമെർ) പറ (ഏഫ)യുടെ പത്തിൽ ഒന്നു ആകുന്നു.

Exodus 17

And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സംഘം എല്ലാം സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു, യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ചെയ്ത പ്രയാണങ്ങളിൽ രെഫീദീമിൽ എത്തി പാളയമിറങ്ങി; അവിടെ ജനത്തിന്നു കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളമില്ലായിരുന്നു.

Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide all of you with me? wherefore do all of you tempt the LORD?അതുകൊണ്ടു ജനം മോശെയോടു: ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളം തരിക എന്നു കലഹിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു മോശെ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു എന്തിന്നു കലഹിക്കുന്നു? നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?ജനത്തിന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു നന്നാ ദാഹിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ജനം മോശെയുടെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുത്തു: ഞങ്ങളും മക്കളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ദാഹം കൊണ്ടു ചാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.മോശെ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു: ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? അവർ എന്നെ കല്ലെറിവാൻ പോകുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with you of the elders of Israel; and your rod, wherewith you smote the river, take in yours hand, and go.യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരിൽ ചിലരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു നീ നദിയെ അടിച്ച വടിയും കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തു ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കടന്നുപോക.

Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ കലഹം നിമിത്തവും യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു അവർ യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്ക നിമിത്തവും അവൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു മസ്സാ (പരീക്ഷ) എന്നും മെരീബാ (കലഹം) എന്നും പേരിട്ടു.

And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.അപ്പോൾ മോശെ യോശുവയോടു: നീ ആളുകളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അമാലേക്കിനോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്ക; ഞാൻ നാളെ കുന്നിൻ മുകളിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വടി കയ്യിൽ പിടിച്ചും കൊണ്ടു നില്ക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.മോശെ തന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ യോശുവ ചെയ്തു, അമാലേക്കിനോടു പൊരുതു; എന്നാൽ മോശെയും അഹരോനും ഹൂരും കുന്നിൻ മുകളിൽ കയറി.

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.മോശെ കൈ ഉയർത്തിയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽ ജയിക്കും; കൈ താഴ്ത്തിയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അമാലേക്ക് ജയിക്കും.

But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.എന്നാൽ മോശെയുടെ കൈ ഭാരം തോന്നിയപ്പോൾ അവർ ഒരു കല്ലു എടുത്തുവെച്ചു, അവൻ അതിന്മേൽ ഇരുന്നു; അഹരോനും ഹൂരും ഒരുത്തൻ ഇപ്പുറത്തും ഒരുത്തൻ അപ്പുറത്തും നിന്നു അവന്റെ കൈ താങ്ങി; അങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ കൈ സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുംവരെ ഉറെച്ചുനിന്നു.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: നീ ഇതു ഓർമ്മെക്കായിട്ടു ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതി യോശുവയെ കേൾപ്പിക്ക; ഞാൻ അമാലേക്കിന്റെ ഓർമ്മ ആകാശത്തിന്റെ കീഴിൽനിന്നു അശേഷം മായിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:പിന്നെ മോശെ ഒരു യാഗ പീഠം പണിതു, അതിന്നു യഹോവ നിസ്സി (യഹോവ എന്റെ കൊടി) എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

For he said, Because the LORD has sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.യഹോവയുടെ സീംഹാസനത്താണ യഹോവെക്കു അമാലേക്കിനോടു തലമുറതലമുറയായി യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

Exodus 18

When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;ദൈവം മോശെക്കും തന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനെ മിസ്രയീമിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതും മിദ്യാനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായി മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പനായ യിത്രോ കേട്ടു.

Then Jethro, Moses' father in law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back,അപ്പോൾ മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പനായ യിത്രോ മോശെ മടക്കി അയച്ചിരുന്ന അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ സിപ്പോറയെയും അവളുടെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an foreigner in a strange land:ഞാൻ അന്യദേശത്തു പരദേശിയായി എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തന്നു ഗേർഷോം എന്നു പേർ.

And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:എന്നാൽ മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പനായ യിത്രോ അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടുംകൂടെ, മോശെ പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരുന്ന മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പർവ്വതത്തിങ്കൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

And he said unto Moses, I your father in law Jethro am come unto you, and your wife, and her two sons with her.നിന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പൻ യിത്രോ എന്ന ഞാനും നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയും രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ മോശെയോടു പറയിച്ചു.

And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did reverence, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ചെന്നു വണങ്ങി അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു; അവർ തമ്മിൽ കുശലപ്രശ്നം ചെയ്തു കൂടാരത്തിൽ വന്നു.

And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പനോടു യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന്നുവേണ്ടി ഫറവോനോടും മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടും ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും വഴിയിൽ തങ്ങൾക്കു നേരിട്ട പ്രയാസം ഒക്കെയും യഹോവ തങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിച്ചപ്രകാരവും വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.യഹോവ മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിടുവിച്ചതിനാൽ അവർക്കു ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ നന്മനിമിത്തവും യിത്രോ സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.യിത്രോ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും ഫറവോന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിച്ചു മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ കൈക്കീഴിൽനിന്നു ജനത്തെ വിടുവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.

Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.യഹോവ സകലദേവന്മാരിലും വലിയവൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നു. അതേ, ഇവരോടു അവർ അഹങ്കരിച്ച കാര്യത്തിൽ തന്നേ.

And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പനായ യിത്രോ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഹോമവും ഹനനയാഗവും കഴിച്ചു; അഹരോനും യിസ്രായേൽ മൂപ്പന്മാരെല്ലാവരും വന്നു മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പനോടുകൂടെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.

And it came to pass on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ മോശെ ജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായം വിധിപ്പാൻ ഇരുന്നു; ജനം രാവിലെ തുടങ്ങി വൈകുന്നേരംവരെ മോശെയുടെ ചുറ്റും നിന്നു.

And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that you do to the people? why sit you yourself alone, and all the people stand by you from morning unto even?അവൻ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി ചെയ്യുന്നതൊക്കെയും മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പൻ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: നീ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു? നീ ഏകനായി വിസ്തരിപ്പാൻ ഇരിക്കയും ജനം ഒക്കെയും രാവിലേ തുടങ്ങി വൈകുന്നേരംവരെ നിന്റെ ചുറ്റും നിൽക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.

And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പനോടു: ദൈവത്തോടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ ജനം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു.

When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.അവർക്കു ഒരു കാര്യം ഉണ്ടാകുമ്പോൾ അവർ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും. അവർക്കു തമ്മിലുള്ള കാര്യം ഞാൻ കേട്ടു വിധിക്കയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണങ്ങളും അവരെ അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that you do is not good.അതിന്നു മോശെയുടെ അമ്മായപ്പൻ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു:

You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you: for this thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it yourself alone.നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യം നന്നല്ല; നീയും നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ഈ ജനവും ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോകും; ഈ കാര്യം നിനക്കു അതിഭാരമാകുന്നു; ഏകനായി അതു നിവർത്തിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു കഴിയുന്നതല്ല.

Hearken now unto my voice, I will give you counsel, and God shall be with you: Be you for the people toward God, that you may bring the causes unto God:ആകയാൽ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്ക; ഞാൻ ഒരാലോചന പറഞ്ഞുതരാം. ദൈവം നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും; നീ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ഇരിക്ക; നീ കാര്യങ്ങളെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലുക.

And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.അവർക്കു കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണങ്ങളും ഉപദേശിക്കയും നടക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വഴിയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തിയും അവരെ അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്ക.

Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:അതല്ലാതെ, ദൈവഭക്തന്മാരും സത്യവാന്മാരും ദുരാദായം വെറുക്കുന്നവരുമായ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ സകലജനത്തിൽനിന്നും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു അവരെ ആയിരംപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും നൂറുപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും അമ്പതുപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും പത്തുപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും നിയമിക്ക.

And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto you, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for yourself, and they shall bear the burden with you.അവർ എല്ലാസമയത്തും ജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായം വിധിക്കട്ടെ; വലിയ കാര്യം ഒക്കെയും അവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെ; ചെറിയ കാര്യം ഒക്കെയും അവർ തന്നേ തീർക്കട്ടെ; ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ വഹിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ നിനക്കു ഭാരം കുറയും.

If you shall do this thing, and God command you so, then you shall be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.നീ ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്കയും ദൈവം അതു അനുവദിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നിനക്കു നിന്നുപൊറുക്കാം. ഈ ജനത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും സമാധാനത്തോടെ തങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു പോകയുമാം.

So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said.മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു, അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തു.

And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.മോശെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നും പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു അവരെ ആയിരംപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും നൂറുപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും അമ്പതുപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും പത്തുപേർക്കു അധിപതിമാരായും ജനത്തിന്നു തലവന്മാരാക്കി.

And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.അവർ എല്ലാസമയത്തും ജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായം വിധിച്ചു വന്നു; വിഷമമുള്ള കാര്യം അവർ മോശെയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരും; ചെറിയ കാര്യം ഒക്കെയും അവർ തന്നേ തീർക്കും.

And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പനെ യാത്ര അയച്ചു; അവൻ സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
