1 Timothy 2

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;എന്നാൽ സകലമനുഷ്യർക്കും നാം സർവ്വഭക്തിയോടും ഘനത്തോടും കൂടെ സാവധാനതയും സ്വസ്ഥതയുമുള്ള ജീവനം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.വിശേഷാൽ രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും സകല അധികാരസ്ഥന്മാർക്കും വേണ്ടി യാചനയും പ്രാർത്ഥനയും പക്ഷവാദവും സ്തോത്രവും ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ സകലത്തിന്നും മുമ്പെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;അതു നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നല്ലതും പ്രസാദകരവും ആകുന്നു.

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.അവൻ സകലമനുഷ്യരും രക്ഷപ്രാപിപ്പാനും സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ എത്തുവാനും ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലോ. ദൈവത്തിന്നും മനുഷ്യർക്കും മദ്ധ്യസ്ഥനും ഒരുവൻ:

Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.എല്ലാവർക്കും വേണ്ടി മറുവിലയായി തന്നെത്താൻ കൊടുത്ത മനുഷ്യനായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശു തന്നേ.

Unto which I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.തക്കസമയത്തു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടിയ ഈ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി ഞാൻ പ്രസംഗിയും അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായി — ഭോഷ്കല്ല, പരമാർത്ഥം തന്നേ പറയുന്നു — ജാതികളെ വിശ്വാസവും സത്യവും ഉപദേശിപ്പാൻ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.ആകയാൽ പുരുഷന്മാർ എല്ലാടത്തും കോപവും വാഗ്വാദവും വിട്ടകന്നു വിശുദ്ധകൈകളെ ഉയർത്തി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with reverence and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;അവ്വണ്ണം സ്ത്രീകളും യോഗ്യമായ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു ലജ്ജാശീലത്തോടും സുബോധത്തോടുംകൂടെ തങ്ങളെ അലങ്കരിക്കേണം.

But (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.പിന്നിയ തലമുടി, പൊന്നു, മുത്തു, വിലയേറിയ വസ്ത്രം എന്നിവകൊണ്ടല്ല, ദൈവഭക്തിയെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകൾക്കു ഉചിതമാകുംവണ്ണം സൽപ്രവൃത്തികളെക്കൊണ്ടത്രേ അലങ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതു.

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.സ്ത്രീ മൌനമായിരുന്നു പൂർണ്ണാനുസരണത്തോടും കൂടെ പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.മൌനമായിരിപ്പാൻ അല്ലാതെ ഉപദേശിപ്പാനോ പുരുഷന്റെമേൽ അധികാരം നടത്തുവാനോ ഞാൻ സ്ത്രീയെ അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല.

For Adam was first formed, then Eve.ആദാം ആദ്യം നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു, പിന്നെ ഹവ്വ;

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.ആദാം അല്ല, സ്ത്രീ അത്രേ വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെട്ടു ലംഘനത്തിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടതു.

Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with sobriety.എന്നാൽ വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിലും സുബോധത്തോടെ പാർക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൾ മക്കളെ പ്രസവിച്ചു രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കും

1 Timothy 3

This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desires a good work.ഒരുവൻ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷസ്ഥാനം കാംക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നല്ലവേല ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യം ആകുന്നു.

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, able to teach;എന്നാൽ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷൻ നിരപവാദ്യനായി ഏകഭാര്യയുടെ ഭർത്താവും നിർമ്മദനും ജിതേന്ദ്രിയനും സുശീലനും അതിഥിപ്രിയനും ഉപദേശിപ്പാൻ സമർത്ഥനും ആയിരിക്കേണം.

Not given to wine, not an attacker, not greedy of filthy illegal gain; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;മദ്യപ്രിയനും തല്ലുകാരനും അരുതു;

One that rules well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;ശാന്തനും കലഹിക്കാത്തവനും ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹമില്ലാത്തവനും സ്വന്തകുടുംബത്തെ നന്നായി ഭരിക്കുന്നവനും മക്കളെ പൂർണ്ണഗൌരവത്തോടെ അനുസരണത്തിൽ പാലിക്കുന്നവനും ആയിരിക്കേണം.

(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)സ്വന്തകുടുംബത്തെ ഭരിപ്പാൻ അറിയാത്തവൻ ദൈവസഭയെ എങ്ങനെ പരിപാലിക്കും?

Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.നിഗളിച്ചിട്ടു പിശാചിന്നു വന്ന ശിക്ഷാവിധിയിൽ അകപ്പെടാതിരിപ്പാൻ പുതിയ ശിഷ്യനും അരുതു.

Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.നിന്ദയിലും പിശാചിന്റെ കണിയിലും കുടുങ്ങാതിരിപ്പാൻ പുറമെയുള്ളവരോടു നല്ല സാക്ഷ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവനും ആയിരിക്കേണം.

Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy illegal gain;അവ്വണ്ണം ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാർ ഘനശാലികളായിരിക്കേണം; ഇരുവാക്കുകാരും മദ്യപന്മാരും ദുർല്ലാഭമോഹികളും അരുതു.

Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.അവർ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ മർമ്മം ശുദ്ധമനസ്സാക്ഷിയിൽ വെച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നവർ ആയിരിക്കേണം.

And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.അവരെ ആദ്യം പരീക്ഷിക്കേണം; അനിന്ദ്യരായി കണ്ടാൽ അവർ ശുശ്രൂഷ ഏല്ക്കട്ടെ.

Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.അവ്വണം സ്ത്രീകളും ഘനശാലികളായി ഏഷണി പറയാതെ നിർമ്മദമാരും എല്ലാറ്റിലും വിശ്വസ്തമാരുമായിരിക്കേണം.

Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാർ ഏകഭാര്യയുള്ള ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരും മക്കളെയും സ്വന്തകുടുംബങ്ങളെയും നന്നായി ഭരിക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരിക്കേണം.

For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.നന്നായി ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളവർ തങ്ങൾക്കു നല്ല നിലയും ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിങ്കലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ വളരെ പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യവും സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു.

These things write I unto you, hoping to come unto you shortly:ഞാൻ വേഗത്തിൽ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും എന്നു ആശിക്കുന്നു;

But if I tarry long, that you may know how you ought to behave yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.താമസിച്ചുപോയാലോ സത്യത്തിന്റെ തൂണും അടിസ്ഥാനവുമായി ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഭയാകുന്ന ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ നടക്കേണ്ടതു എങ്ങനെയെന്നു നീ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇതു എഴുതുന്നു.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.അവൻ ജഡത്തിൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടു; ആത്മാവിൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ദൂതന്മാർക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പ്രസംഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ലോകത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; തേജസ്സിൽ എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നിങ്ങനെ ദൈവഭക്തിയുടെ മർമ്മം സമ്മതമാംവണ്ണം വലിയതാകുന്നു.

1 Timothy 4

Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;എന്നാൽ ഭാവികാലത്തു ചിലർ വ്യാജാത്മാക്കളെയും ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെയും ആശ്രയിച്ചു ഭോഷ്കു പറയുന്നവരുടെ കപടത്താൽ വിശ്വാസം ത്യജിക്കും എന്നു ആത്മാവു തെളിവായി പറയുന്നു.

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;അവർ സ്വന്തമനസ്സാക്ഷിയിൽ ചൂടുവെച്ചവരായി

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.വിവാഹം വിലക്കുകയും സത്യത്തെ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വാസികൾ സ്തോത്രത്തോടെ അനുഭവിപ്പാൻ ദൈവം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ഭോജ്യങ്ങളെ വർജ്ജിക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സൃഷ്ടി എല്ലാം നല്ലതു; സ്തോത്രത്തോടെ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഒന്നും വർജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല;

For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.ദൈവവചനത്താലും പ്രാർത്ഥനയാലും വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുവല്ലോ.

⁶

If you put the brethren in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, unto which you have attained.ഇതു സഹോദരന്മാരേ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിച്ചാൽ നീ അനുസരിച്ച വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെയും സദുപദേശത്തിന്റെയും വചനത്താൽ പോഷണം ലഭിച്ചു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്നു നല്ല ശുശ്രൂഷകൻ ആകും.

But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself rather unto godliness.ഭക്തിവിരുദ്ധമായ കിഴവിക്കഥകളെ ഒഴിച്ചു ദൈവഭക്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അഭ്യാസം ചെയ്ക.

For bodily exercise profits little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.ശരീരാഭ്യാസം അല്പപ്രയോജനമുള്ളതത്രേ; ദൈവഭക്തിയോ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ജീവന്റെയും വരുവാനിരിക്കുന്നതിന്റെയും വാഗ്ദത്തമുള്ളതാകയാൽ സകലത്തിന്നും പ്രയോജനകരമാകുന്നു.

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.ഇതു വിശ്വാസ്യവും എല്ലാവരും അംഗീകരിപ്പാൻ യോഗ്യവുമായ വചനം.

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.അതിന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ നാം സകലമനുഷ്യരുടെയും പ്രത്യേകം വിശ്വസികളുടെയും രക്ഷിതാവായ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിൽ ആശവെച്ചു അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചും പോരാടിയും വരുന്നു.

These things command and teach.ഇതു നീ ആജ്ഞാപിക്കയും ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്ക.

Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.ആരും നിന്റെ യൌവനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു; വാക്കിലും നടപ്പിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും നിർമ്മലതയിലും വിശ്വാസികൾക്കു മാതൃകയായിരിക്ക.

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.ഞാൻ വരുവോളം വായന, പ്രബോധനം, ഉപദേശം എന്നിവയിൽ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്ക.

¹⁴

Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ കൈവെപ്പോടുകൂടെ പ്രവചനത്താൽ നിനക്കു ലഭിച്ചതായി നിന്നിലുള്ള കൃപാവരം ഉപേക്ഷയായി വിചാരിക്കാതെ

Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all.നിന്റെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രസിദ്ധമായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇതു കരുതുക, ഇതിൽ തന്നെ ഇരുന്നുകൊൾക.

Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you.നിന്നെത്തന്നേയും ഉപദേശത്തെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക; ഇതിൽ ഉറെച്ചുനിൽക്ക; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താൽ നീ നിന്നെയും നിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേൾക്കുന്നവരെയും രക്ഷിക്കും.
