Daniel 1

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ ബാബേൽ രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നു അതിനെ നിരോധിച്ചു.

And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.കർത്താവു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിനെയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലെ പാത്രങ്ങളിൽ ചിലതിനെയും അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവൻ അവയെ ശിനാർദേശത്തു തന്റെ ദേവന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടു പോയി; ആ പാത്രങ്ങളെ അവൻ തന്റെ ദേവന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹത്തിൽ വെച്ചു.

And the king spoke unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;അനന്തരം രാജാവു തന്റെ ഷണ്ഡന്മാരിൽ പ്രധാനിയായ അശ്പെനാസിനോടു: യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽ രാജസന്തതിയിലും കുലീനന്മാരിലും വെച്ചു

Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.അംഗഭംഗമില്ലാത്തവരും സുന്തരന്മാരും സകലജ്ഞാനത്തിലും നിപുണന്മാരും അറിവിൽ സമർത്ഥന്മാരും വിദ്യാപരിജ്ഞാനികളും രാജധാനിയിൽ പരിചരിപ്പാൻ യോഗ്യന്മാരും ആയ ചില ബാലന്മാരെ വരുത്തുവാനും അവരെ കല്ദയരുടെ വിദ്യയും ഭാഷയും അഭ്യസിപ്പിപ്പാനും കല്പിച്ചു.

And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's food, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.രാജാവു അവർക്കു രാജഭോജനത്തിൽനിന്നും താൻ കുടിക്കുന്ന വീഞ്ഞിൽനിന്നും നിത്യവൃത്തി നിയമിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവരെ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം വളർത്തീട്ടു അവർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ നിൽക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ദാനീയേൽ, ഹനന്യാവു, മീശായേൽ, അസർയ്യാവു എന്നീ യെഹൂദാപുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.ഷണ്ഡാധിപൻ അവർക്കു പേരിട്ടു; ദാനീയേലിന്നു അവർ ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സർ എന്നും ഹനന്യവിന്നു ശദ്രക്ക് എന്നും മീശായേലിന്നു മേശക്ക് എന്നും അസർയ്യാവിന്നു അബേദ്-നെഗോ എന്നും പേരുവിളിച്ചു.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's food, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.എന്നാൽ രാജാവിന്റെ ഭോജനംകൊണ്ടും അവൻ കുടിക്കുന്ന വീഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടും തന്നെത്താൻ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു ദാനീയേൽ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു, തനിക്കു അശുദ്ധി ഭവിപ്പാൻ ഇടവരുത്തരുതെന്നു ഷണ്ഡാധിപനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.ദൈവം ദാനീയേലിന്നു ഷണ്ഡാധിപന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ദയയും കരുണയും ലഭിപ്പാൻ ഇടവരുത്തി.

And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse looking than the children which are of your sort? then shall all of you make me endanger my head to the king.ഷണ്ഡാധിപൻ ദാനീയേലിനോടു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭക്ഷണവും പാനീയവും നിയമിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനെ ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു; അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖം നിങ്ങളുടെ സമപ്രായക്കാരായ ബാലന്മാരുടേതിനോടു ഒത്തുനോക്കിയാൽ മെലിഞ്ഞുകാണുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? അങ്ങനെയായാൽ നിങ്ങൾ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ എന്റെ തലെക്കു അപകടം വരുത്തും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,ദാനീയേലോ ഷണ്ഡാധിപൻ ദാനീയേലിന്നും ഹനന്യാവിന്നും മീശായേലിന്നും അസർയ്യാവിന്നും വിചാരകനായി നിയമിച്ചിരുന്ന മെൽസറിനോടു:

Prove your servants, I plead to you, ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat, and water to drink.അടിയങ്ങളെ പത്തു ദിവസം പരീക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കിയാലും; അവർ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്മാൻ ശാകപദാർത്ഥവും കുടിപ്പാൻ പച്ചവെള്ളവും തന്നു നോക്കട്ടെ.

Then let our countenances be looked upon before you, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's food: and as you see, deal with your servants.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുഖവും രാജഭോജനം കഴിക്കുന്ന ബാലന്മാരുടെ മുഖവും തമ്മിൽ നീ ഒത്തു നോക്കുക; പിന്നെ കാണുന്നതുപോലെ അടിയങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്തുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.അവൻ ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ അവരുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു പത്തു ദിവസം അവരെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു.

And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's food.പത്തു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അവരുടെ മുഖം രാജഭോജനം കഴിച്ചുവന്ന സകലബാലന്മാരുടേതിലും അഴകുള്ളതും അവർ മാംസപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരും എന്നു കണ്ടു.

Thus Melzar took away the portion of their food, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them vegetables.അങ്ങനെ മെൽസർ അവരുടെ ഭോജനവും അവർ കുടിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വീഞ്ഞും നീക്കി അവർക്കു ശാകപദാർത്ഥം കൊടുത്തു.

As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.ഈ നാലു ബാലന്മാർക്കോ ദൈവം സകലവിദ്യയിലും ജ്ഞാനത്തിലും നീപുണതയും സമാർത്ഥ്യവും കൊടുത്തു; ദാനീയേൽ സകലദർശനങ്ങളെയും സ്യ്‍വപ്നങ്ങളെയും സംബന്ധിച്ചു വിവേകിയായിരുന്നു.

Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.അവരെ സന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഷണ്ഡാധിപൻ അവരെ നെബൂഖദ് നേസരിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു.

And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.രാജാവു അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചാറെ അവരിൽ എല്ലാവരിലും വെച്ചു ദാനീയേൽ, ഹനന്യാവു, മീശായേൽ, അസർയ്യാവു എന്നിവർക്കു തുല്യമായി ഒരുത്തനെയും കണ്ടില്ല; അവർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു നിന്നു.

And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.രാജാവു അവരോടു ജ്ഞാനവിവേകസംബന്ധമായി ചോദിച്ചതിൽ ഒക്കെയും അവരെ തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെല്ലാടവുമുള്ള സകല മന്ത്രവാദികളിലും ആഭിചാരകന്മാരിലും പത്തിരട്ടി വിശിഷ്ടന്മാരെന്നു കണ്ടു.

And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.ദാനീയേലോ കോരെശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ആണ്ടുവരെ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.

Daniel 2

And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.നെബൂഖദ് നേസരിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ നെബൂഖദ് നേസർ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; അവന്റെ മനസ്സു വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടു; അവന്നു ഉറക്കമില്ലാതെയായി.

Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, in order to show the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.രാജാവിനോടു സ്വപ്നം അറിയിപ്പാൻ മന്ത്രവാദികളെയും ആഭിചാരകന്മാരെയും ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരെയും കല്ദയരെയും വിളിപ്പാൻ രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചു; അവർ വന്നു രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു.

And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.രാജാവു അവരോടു: ഞാൻ ഒരു സ്വപ്നംകണ്ടു; സ്വപ്നം ഓർക്കാഞ്ഞിട്ടു എന്റെ മനസ്സു വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

Then spoke the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.അതിന്നു കല്ദയർ അരാമ്യഭാഷയിൽ രാജാവിനോടു: രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ; സ്വപ്നം അടിയങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചാലും; അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നുണർത്തിച്ചു.

The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if all of you will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, all of you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.രാജാവു കല്ദയരോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളിയതു: വിധി കല്പിച്ചു പോയി; സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങളെ കഷണംകഷണമായി ശകലിക്കയും വീടുകളെ കുപ്പക്കുന്നാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും,

But if all of you show the dream, and the interpretation thereof, all of you shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore show me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിച്ചാലോ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മാനവും പ്രതിഫലവും ബഹുമാനവും ലഭിക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ടു സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിപ്പിൻ.

They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation of it.അവർ പിന്നെയും: രാജാവു സ്വപ്നം അടിയങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചാലും; അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നു ഉണർത്തിച്ചു.

The king answered and said, I know of certainty that all of you would gain the time, because all of you see the thing is gone from me.അതിന്നു രാജാവു മറുപടി കല്പിച്ചതു: വിധികല്പിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു നിങ്ങൾ കാലതാമസം വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നു എന്നു എനിക്കു മനസ്സിലായി.

But if all of you will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for all of you have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that all of you can show me the interpretation thereof.നിങ്ങൾ സ്വപ്നം അറിയിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു വിധി മാത്രമേയുള്ളു; സമയം മാറുവോളം എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വ്യാജവും പൊളിവാക്കും പറവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ യോജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വപ്നം പറവിൻ; എന്നാൽ അർത്ഥവും അറിയിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു എനിക്കു ബോധ്യമാകും.

The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can show the king's matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.കല്ദയർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ഉത്തരം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചതു: രാജാവിന്റെ കാര്യം അറിയിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇല്ല; എത്രയും മഹാനും ബലവാനുമായ ഏതൊരു രാജാവും ഇങ്ങിനെയുള്ള കാര്യം ഒരു മന്ത്രവാദിയോടോ ആഭിചാരകനോടോ കല്ദയനോടോ ഒരിക്കലും ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

And it is a rare thing that the king requires, and there is no other that can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം പ്രയാസമുള്ളതാകുന്നു; തിരുമുമ്പിൽ അതു അറിയിപ്പാൻ ജഡവാസമില്ലാത്ത ദേവന്മാർക്കല്ലാതെ മറ്റാർക്കും കഴികയില്ല.

For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.ഇതു ഹേതുവായിട്ടു രാജാവു കോപിച്ചു അത്യന്തം ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു ബാബേലിലെ സകല വിദ്വാന്മരെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ കല്പന കൊടുത്തു.

And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.അങ്ങനെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുവാനുള്ള തീർപ്പു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ ദാനീയേലിനെയും കൂട്ടുകാരനെയും കൂടെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു.

Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:എന്നാൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അകമ്പടിനായകനായി ബാബേലിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ കൊന്നുകളവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അർയ്യോക്കിനോടു ദാനീയേൽ ബുദ്ധിയോടും വിവേകത്തോടും കൂടെ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.രാജ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു ഇത്ര കഠിനകല്പന പുറപ്പെടുവാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ അർയ്യോക്കിനോടു ചോദിച്ചു; അർയ്യോക്ക് ദാനീയേലിനോടു കാര്യം അറിയിച്ചു;

Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the interpretation.ദാനീയേൽ അകത്തു ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടു തനിക്കു സമയം തരേണം എന്നും താൻ രാജാവിനോടു അർത്ഥം അറിയിക്കാമെന്നും ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:പിന്നെ ദാനീയേൽ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു, താനും കൂട്ടുകാരും ബാബേലിലെ ശേഷം വിദ്വാന്മാരോടുകൂടെ നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.ഈ രഹസ്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കരുണ അപേക്ഷിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം കൂട്ടുകാരനായ ഹനന്യാവോടും മീശായേലിനോടും അസർയ്യാവോടും കാര്യം അറിയിച്ചു.

Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.അങ്ങനെ ആ രഹസ്യം ദാനീയേലിന്നു രാത്രിദർശനത്തിൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടു; ദാനീയേൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു:

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമം എന്നും എന്നേക്കും സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ; ജ്ഞാനവും ബലവും അവന്നുള്ളതല്ലോ.

And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:അവൻ കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും മാറ്റുന്നു; അവൻ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ നീക്കുകയും രാജാക്കന്മാരെ വാഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവൻ ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കു ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകികൾക്കു ബുദ്ധിയും കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

He reveals the deep and secret things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.അവൻ അഗാധവും ഗൂഢവുമായതു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അവൻ ഇരുട്ടിൽ ഉള്ളതു അറിയുന്നു; വെളിച്ചം അവനോടുകൂടെ വസിക്കുന്നു.

I thank you, and praise you, O you God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have made known unto me now what we desired of you: for you have now made known unto us the king's matter.എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായുള്ളോവേ, നീ എനിക്കു ജ്ഞാനവും ബലവും തന്നു, ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചതു ഇപ്പോൾ എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചു രാജാവിന്റെ കാര്യം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തി സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will show unto the king the interpretation.അതുകൊണ്ടു ദാനീയേൽ, ബാബേലിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ നിശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ രാജാവു നിയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന അർയ്യോക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: ബാബേലിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ നശിപ്പിക്കരുതു; എന്നെ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം; ഞാൻ രാജാവിനെ അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.അർയ്യോക്ക് ദാനീയേലിനെ വേഗം രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു: രാജാവിനെ അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദാപ്രവാസികളിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉണർത്തിച്ചു.

The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Are you able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സർ എന്നും പേരുള്ള ദാനീയേലിനോടു രാജാവു: ഞാൻ കണ്ട സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു കഴിയുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king has demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto the king;ദാനീയേൽ രാജസാന്നിധിയിൽ ഉത്തരം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചതു: രാജാവു ചോദിച്ച ഗുപ്തകാര്യം വിദ്വാന്മാർക്കും ആഭിചാരകന്മാർക്കും മന്ത്രവാദികൾക്കും ശകുനവാദികൾക്കും രാജാവിനെ അറിയിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല.

But there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets, and makes known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these;എങ്കിലും രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ഒരു ദൈവം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ ഭാവികാലത്തു സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. സ്വപ്നവും പള്ളിമെത്തയിൽവെച്ചു തിരുമനസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടായ ദർശനങ്ങളും ആവിതു:

As for you, O king, your thoughts came into your mind upon your bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that reveals secrets makes known to you what shall come to pass.രാജാവേ, ഇനിമേൽ സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെന്നുള്ള വിചാരം പള്ളിമെത്തയിൽവെച്ചു തിരുമനസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടായി; രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവൻ സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു അറിയിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that you might know the thoughts of your heart.എനിക്കോ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്ന യാതൊരുത്തനെക്കാളും അധികമായ ജ്ഞാനം ഒന്നും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടല്ല, രാജാവിനോടു അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തിരുമനസ്സിലെ വിചാരം തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നും അത്രേ ഈ രഹസ്യം എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു.

You, O king, saw, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and the form thereof was terrible.രാജാവു കണ്ട ദർശനമോ: വലിയൊരു ബിംബം; വലിപ്പമേറിയതും വിശഷശോഭ യുള്ളതുമായ ആ ബിംബം തിരുമുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു; അതിന്റെ രൂപം ഭയങ്കരമായിരുന്നു.

This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,ബിംബത്തിന്റെ തല തങ്കംകൊണ്ടും നെഞ്ചും കയ്യും വെള്ളികൊണ്ടും വയറും അരയും താമ്രംകൊണ്ടും തുട ഇരിമ്പു കൊണ്ടു

His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.കാൽ പാതി ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടും പാതി കളിമണ്ണുകൊണ്ടും ആയയിരുന്നു.

You saw till that a stone was cut out without hands, which stroke the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കൈ തൊടാതെ ഒരു കല്ലു പറിഞ്ഞുവന്നു ബിംബത്തെ ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള കാലിൽ അടിച്ചു തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that stroke the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും താമ്രവും വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഒരുപോലെ തകർന്നു വേനൽക്കാലത്തു കളത്തിലെ പതിർപോലെ ആയിത്തീർന്നു; ഒരിടത്തും തങ്ങാതവണ്ണം കാറ്റു അവയെ പറപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; ബിംബത്തെ അടിച്ച കല്ലു ഒരു മഹാപർവ്വതമായിത്തീർന്നു ഭൂമിയിൽ ഒക്കെയും നിറഞ്ഞു.

This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.ഇതത്രേ സ്വപ്നം; അർത്ഥവും അടിയങ്ങൾ തിരുമനസ്സു അറിയിക്കാം.

You, O king, are a king of kings: for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.രാജാവേ, തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു രാജാധിരാജാവാകുന്നു; സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം തിരുമനസ്സിലേക്കു രാജത്വവും ഐശ്വര്യവും ശക്തിയും മഹത്വവും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁸

And where ever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven has he given into yours hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold.മനുഷ്യർ പാർക്കുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും അവരെയും കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളെയും അവൻ തൃക്കയ്യിൽ തന്നു, എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും തിരുമനസ്സിലെ അധിപതി ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടുള്ള തല തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.

And after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to you, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.തിരുമനസ്സിലെ ശേഷം തിരുമേനിയെക്കാൾ താണതായ മറ്റൊരു രാജത്വവും സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും വാഴുവാനിരിക്കുന്നതായി താമ്രംകൊണ്ടുള്ള മൂന്നാമതൊരു രാജത്വവും ഉത്ഭവിക്കും.

And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things: and as iron that breaks all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.നാലാമത്തെ രാജത്വം ഇരിമ്പുപോലെ ബലമുള്ളതായിരിക്കും; ഇരിമ്പു സകലത്തെയും തകർത്തു കീഴടക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. തകർക്കുന്ന ഇരിമ്പുപോലെ അതു അവയെ ഒക്കെയും ഇടിച്ചു തകർത്തുകളയും.

And whereas you saw the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.കാലും കാൽ വിരലും പാതി കളിമണ്ണും പാതി ഇരുമ്പുംകൊണ്ടുള്ളതായി കണ്ടതിന്റെ താല്പര്യമോ: അതു ഒരു ഭിന്നരാജത്വം ആയിരിക്കും; എങ്കിലും ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും ഇടകലർന്നതായി കണ്ടതുപോലെ അതിൽ ഇരിമ്പിന്നുള്ള ബലം കുറെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.

And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.കാൽവിരൽ പാതി ഇരിമ്പും പാതി കളിമണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടു ആയിരുന്നതുപോലെ രാജത്വം ഒട്ടു ബലമുള്ളതും ഒട്ടു ഉടഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതും ആയിരിക്കും.

And whereas you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും ഇടകലർന്നതായി കണ്ടതിന്റെ താല്പര്യമോ: അവർ മനുഷ്യബീജത്താൽ തമ്മിൽ ഇടകലരുമെങ്കിലും ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും തമ്മിൽ ചേരാതിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവർ തമ്മിൽ ചേരുകയില്ല.

⁴⁴

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തു സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം ഒരുനാളും നശിച്ചുപോകാത്ത ഒരു രാജത്വം സ്ഥാപിക്കും; ആ രാജത്വം വേറെ ഒരു ജാതിക്കു ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല; അതു ഈ രാജത്വങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും തകർത്തു നശിപ്പിക്കയും എന്നേക്കും നിലനിൽക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

Forasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.കൈ തൊടാതെ ഒരു കല്ലു പർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നു പറിഞ്ഞുവന്നു ഇരിമ്പും താമ്രവും കളിമണ്ണും വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടതിന്റെ താല്പര്യമോ: മഹാദൈവം മേലാൽ സംഭവിപ്പാനുള്ളതു രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വപ്നം നിശ്ചയവും അർത്ഥം സത്യവും ആകുന്നു.

Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.അപ്പോൾ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു ദാനീയേലിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു, അവന്നു ഒരു വഴിപാടും സൌരഭ്യവാസനയും അർപ്പിക്കേണമെന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. രാജാവു ദാനീയേലിനോടു:

The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Truthfully it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you could reveal this secret.നീ ഈ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ പ്രാപ്തനായതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം ദൈവാധി ദൈവവും രാജാധികർത്താവും രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.രാജാവു ദാനീയേലിനെ മഹാനാക്കി, അവന്നു അനേകം വലിയ സമ്മാനങ്ങളും കൊടുത്തു, അവനെ ബാബേൽസംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും അധിപതിയും ബാബേലിലെ സകലവിദ്വാന്മാർക്കും പ്രധാനവിചാരകനും ആക്കിവെച്ചു.

Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.ദാനീയേലിന്റെ അപേക്ഷപ്രകാരം രാജാവു ശദ്രക്കിനെയും മേശക്കിനെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവെയും ബാബേൽ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ കാര്യാദികൾക്കു മേൽവിചാരകരാക്കി; ദാനീയേലോ രാജാവിന്റെ കോവിലകത്തു പാർത്തു.

Daniel 3

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.നെബൂഖദ് നേസർരാജാവു പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു ബിംബം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അതിന്റെ ഉയരം അറുപതു മുഴവും വണ്ണം ആറു മുഴവും ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ അതിനെ ബാബേൽസംസ്ഥാനത്തു ദൂരാസമഭൂമിയിൽ നിർത്തി.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.നെബൂഖദ് നേസർരാജാവു പ്രധാനദേശാധിപന്മാരും സ്ഥാനാപതിമാരും ദേശാധിപന്മാരും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരും, ഭണ്ഡാരവിചാരകന്മാരും മന്ത്രിമാരും നഗരാധിപന്മാരും സകലസംസ്ഥാനപാലകന്മാരും നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവു നിർത്തിയ ബിംബത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠെക്കു വന്നുകൂടുവാൻ ആളയച്ചു.

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.അങ്ങനെ പ്രധാനദേശാധിപന്മാരും സ്ഥാനാപതിമാരും ദേശാധിപന്മാരും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരും ഭണ്ഡാരവിചാരകന്മാരും മന്ത്രിമാരും നഗരാധിപന്മാരും സകലസംസ്ഥാനപാലകന്മാരും നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവു നിർത്തിയ ബിംബത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠെക്കു വന്നുകൂടി, നെബൂഖദ് നേസർ നിർത്തിയ ബിംബത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു.

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,അപ്പോൾ ഘോഷകൻ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു: വംശങ്ങളും ജാതികളും ഭാഷക്കാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

That at what time all of you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, all of you fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up:കാഹളം, കുഴൽ, തംബുരു, കിന്നരം, വീണ, നാഗസ്വരം മുതലായ സകലവിധവാദ്യനാദവും കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ, നിങ്ങൾ വീണു, നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവു നിർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വർണ്ണബിംബത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കേണം

And whoso falls not down and worships shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.ആരെങ്കിലും വീണു നമസ്കരിക്കാതെ ഇരുന്നാൽ, അവനെ ആ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ, എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയും.

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.അതുകൊണ്ടു സകലവംശങ്ങളും കാഹളം, കുഴൽ, തംബുരു, കിന്നരം, വീണ മുതലായ സകലവിധ വാദ്യനാദവും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ സകലവംശങ്ങളും ജാതികളും ഭാഷക്കാരും വീണു നെബൂഖദ് നേസർരാജാവു നിർത്തിയ സ്വർണ്ണബിംബത്തെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.എന്നാൽ ആ സമയത്തു ചില കല്ദയർ അടുത്തുവന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തി.

They spoke and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.അവർ നെബൂഖദ് നേസർരാജാവിനെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചതു: രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ!

You, O king, have made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image:രാജാവേ, കാഹളം കുഴൽ, തംബുരു, കിന്നരം, വീണ, നാഗസ്വരം മുതലായ സകലവിധ വാദ്യനാദവും കേൾക്കുന്ന ഏവനും വീണു സ്വർണ്ണബിംബത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കേണമെന്നും

And whoso falls not down and worships, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.ആരെങ്കിലും വീണു നമസ്കരിക്കാതെയിരുന്നാൽ അവനെ എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയുമെന്നും ഒരു തീർപ്പു കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

There are certain Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded you: they serve not your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.ബാബേൽസംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ കാര്യാദികൾക്കു മേൽവിചാരകന്മാരായി നിയമിച്ച ശദ്രക്, മേശക്, അബേദ്നെഗോ എന്ന ചില യെഹൂദന്മാരുണ്ടല്ലോ: ഈ പുരുഷന്മാർ രാജാവിനെ കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല; അവർ തിരുമനസ്സിലെ ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കയോ തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു നിർത്തിയ സ്വർണ്ണ ബിംബത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.അപ്പോൾ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ ഉഗ്രകോപവും ക്രോധവും പൂണ്ടു ശദ്രക്കിനെയും മേശക്കിനെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവിനെയും കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു; ആ പുരുഷന്മാരെ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not all of you serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?നെബൂഖദ് നേസർ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: ശദ്രക്കേ, മേശക്കേ, അബേദ്നെഗോവേ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കയോ ഞാൻ നിർത്തിയ സ്വർണ്ണബിംബത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല എന്നുള്ളതു നേർതന്നേയോ?

Now if all of you be ready that at what time all of you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, all of you fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if all of you worship not, all of you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?ഇപ്പോൾ കാഹളം, കുഴൽ, തംബുരു, കിന്നരം, വീണ, നാഗസ്വരം മുതലായ സകലവിധ വാദ്യനാദവും കേൾക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു നിങ്ങൾ, ഞാൻ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച ബിംബത്തെ വീണു നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ ഒരുങ്ങിയിരുന്നാൽ നന്നു; നമസ്കരിക്കാതെയിരുന്നാലോ ഈ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളെ എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയും; നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കാകുന്ന ദേവൻ ആർ?

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer you in this matter.ശദ്രക്കും മേശക്കും അബേദ്നെഗോവും രാജാവിനോടു: നെബൂഖദ്നേസരേ, ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഉത്തരം പറവാൻ ആവശ്യമില്ല.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of yours hand, O king.ഞങ്ങൾ സേവിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ, അവൻ ഞങ്ങളെ എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽനിന്നും രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും വിടുവിക്കും.

But if not, be it known unto you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.അല്ലെങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങൾ രാജാവിന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കയില്ല. രാജാവു നിർത്തിയ സ്വർണ്ണബിംബത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞാലും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was known to be heated.അപ്പോൾ നെബൂഖദ് നേസരിന്നു കോപം മുഴുത്തു ശദ്രക്കിന്റെയും മേശക്കിന്റെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവിന്റെയും നേരെ മുഖഭാവം മാറി; ചൂള പതിവായി ചൂടുപിടിപ്പിച്ചതിൽ ഏഴുമടങ്ങു ചൂടുപിടിപ്പിപ്പാൻ അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.അവൻ തന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിലെ മഹാബലവാന്മാരായ ചില പുരുഷന്മാരോടു ശദ്രക്കിനെയും മേശക്കിനെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവെയും ബന്ധിച്ചു എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

Then these men were bound in their coats, their upper garments, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.അങ്ങനെ അവർ ആ പുരുഷന്മാരെ, അവരുടെ കാൽചട്ട, കുപ്പായം, മേലാട മുതലായ വസ്ത്രങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ബന്ധിച്ചു എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.രാജകല്പന കർശനമായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ചൂള അത്യന്തം ചൂടായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ശദ്രക്കിനെയും മേശക്കിനെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവെയും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയ പുരുഷന്മാരെ അഗ്നിജ്വാല ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.ശദ്രക്, മേശക്, അബേദ്നെഗോ എന്നീ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാരോ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരായി എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽ വീണു.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spoke, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവു ഭ്രമിച്ചു വേഗത്തിൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റു മന്ത്രിമാരോടു: നാം മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാരെ അല്ലയോ ബന്ധിച്ചു തീയിൽ ഇട്ടതു ഇന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവർ: സത്യം തന്നേ രാജാവേ എന്നു രാജാവിനോടു ഉണർത്തിച്ചു.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.അതിന്നു അവൻ: നാലു പുരുഷന്മാർ കെട്ടഴിഞ്ഞു തീയിൽ നടക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു; അവർക്കു ഒരു കേടും തട്ടീട്ടില്ല; നാലാമത്തവന്റെ രൂപം ഒരു ദൈവപുത്രനോടു ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spoke, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, all of you servants of the most high God, come forth, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came out of the midst of the fire.നെബൂഖദ് നേസർ എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയുടെ വാതിൽക്കൽ അടുത്തു ചെന്നു; അത്യുന്നതദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ ശദ്രക്കേ, മേശക്കേ, അബേദ് നെഗോവേ, പുറത്തുവരുവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ ശദ്രക്കും മേശക്കും അബേദ്നെഗോവും തീയിൽനിന്നു പുറത്തുവന്നു.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.പ്രധാനദേശാധിപതിമാരും സ്ഥാനാപതിമാരും ദേശാധിപതിമാരും രാജമന്ത്രിമാരും വന്നുകൂടി, ആ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു തീ പിടിക്കാതെയും അവരുടെ തലമുടി കരിയാതെയും കാൽചട്ടെക്കു കേടു പറ്റാതെയും അവർക്കു തീയുടെ മണംപോലും തട്ടാതെയും ഇരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.അപ്പോൾ നെബൂഖദ് നേസർ കല്പിച്ചതു: ശദ്രക്കിന്റെയും മേശക്കിന്റെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവിന്റെയും ദൈവം വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ; തങ്കൽ ആശ്രയിക്കയും സ്വന്തദൈവത്തെയല്ലാതെ വേറൊരു ദൈവത്തെയും സേവിക്കയോ നമസ്കരിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം രാജകല്പനക്കുടെ മറുത്തു തങ്ങളുടെ ദേഹത്തെ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്ത തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ അവൻ സ്വദൂതനെ അയച്ചു വിടുവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.ഈ വിധത്തിൽ വിടുവിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്ന മറ്റൊരു ദൈവവും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഏതു ജാതിക്കാരിലും വംശക്കാരിലും ഭാഷക്കാരിലും ആരെങ്കിലും ശദ്രക്കിന്റെയും മേശക്കിന്റെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവിന്റെയും ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി വല്ല തെറ്റും പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവനെ കഷണംകഷണമായി ശകലിക്കയും അവന്റെ വീടു കുപ്പക്കുന്നാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു ഞാൻ ഒരു വിധി കല്പിക്കുന്നു.
