Isaiah 13

The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവു ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ദർശിച്ച പ്രവാചകം:

Lift all of you up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.മൊട്ടക്കുന്നിന്മേൽ കൊടി ഉയർത്തുവിൻ; അവർ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ വാതിലുകൾക്കകത്തു കടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശബ്ദം ഉയർത്തി അവരെ കൈ കാട്ടി വിളിപ്പിൻ.

I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.ഞാൻ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു, ഗർവ്വത്തോടെ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ വീരന്മാരെ ഞാൻ എന്റെ കോപത്തെ നിവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts musters the host of the battle.ബഹുജനത്തിന്റെ ഘോഷംപോലെ പർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ഘോഷം! കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ ആരവം! സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ യുദ്ധസൈന്യത്തെ പരിശോധിക്കുന്നു.

They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.ദേശത്തെ ഒക്കെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നും ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നും യഹോവയും അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളും വരുന്നു.

Wail all of you; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു മുറയിടുവിൻ; അതു സർവ്വശക്തങ്കൽനിന്നു സർവ്വനാശംപോലെ വരുന്നു.

Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:അതുകൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ കൈകളും തളർന്നുപോകും; സകലഹൃദയവും ഉരുകിപ്പോകും.

And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that labors: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.അവർ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകും; വേദനയും ദുഃഖവും അവർക്കു പിടിപെടും; നോവു കിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയെപ്പോലെ അവർ വേദനപ്പെടും; അവർ അന്യോന്യം തുറിച്ചുനോക്കും; അവരുടെ മുഖം ജ്വലിച്ചിരിക്കും.

Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കുവാനും പാപികളെ അതിൽനിന്നു മുടിച്ചുകളവാനും യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം ക്രൂരമായിട്ടു ക്രോധത്തോടും അതികോപത്തോടും കൂടെ വരുന്നു.

For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളും നക്ഷത്രരാശികളും പ്രകാശം തരികയില്ല; സൂര്യൻ ഉദയത്തിങ്കൽ തന്നേ ഇരുണ്ടു പോകും; ചന്ദ്രൻ പ്രകാശം നല്കുകയുമില്ല.

And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.ഞാൻ ഭൂതലത്തെ ദോഷംനിമിത്തവും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ അവരുടെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തവും സന്ദർശിക്കും; അഹങ്കാരികളുടെ ഗർവ്വത്തെ ഞാൻ ഇല്ലാതാക്കും; ഉഗ്രന്മാരുടെ നിഗളത്തെ താഴ്ത്തും.

I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.ഞാൻ ഒരു പുരുഷനെ തങ്കത്തെക്കാളും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ ഓഫീർതങ്കത്തെക്കാളും ദുർല്ലഭമാക്കും.

Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ആകാശത്തെ നടുങ്ങുമാറാക്കും; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധത്തിലും അവന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപത്തിന്റെ നാളിലും ഭൂമി അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു നിന്നു ഇളകിപ്പോകും;

And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man takes up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.ഓടിച്ചുവിട്ട ഇളമാനിനെപ്പോലെയും ആരും കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെയും അവർ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ജാതിയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിയും; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ സ്വദേശത്തിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോകും.

Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.കണ്ടുകിട്ടുന്നവനെ ഒക്കെയും കുത്തിക്കൊല്ലും; പിടിപെടുന്നവനൊക്കെയും വാളാൽ വീഴും.

Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.അവർ കാൺകെ അവരുടെ ശിശുക്കളെ അടിച്ചുതകർത്തുകളയും; അവരുടെ വീടുകളെ കൊള്ളയിടും; അവരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ അപമാനിക്കും.

Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.ഞാൻ മേദ്യരെ അവർക്കു വിരോധമായി ഉണർത്തും; അവർ വെള്ളിയെ കാര്യമാക്കുകയില്ല; പൊന്നിൽ അവർക്കു താല്പര്യവുമില്ല.

Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.അവരുടെ വില്ലുകൾ യുവാക്കളെ തകർത്തുകളയും; ഗർഭഫലത്തോടു അവക്കുകരുണ തോന്നുകയില്ല; പൈതങ്ങളെയും അവർ ആദരിക്കയില്ല.

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ മഹത്വവും കല്ദയരുടെ പ്രശംസാലങ്കാരവുമായ ബാബേൽ, ദൈവം സൊദോമിനെയും ഗൊമോറയെയും മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ആയിത്തീരും.

It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.അതിൽ ഒരുനാളും കുടിപാർപ്പുണ്ടാകയില്ല; തലമുറതലമുറയോളം അതിൽ ആരും വസിക്കയുമില്ല; അറബിക്കാരൻ അവിടെ കൂടാരം അടിക്കയില്ല; ഇടയന്മാർ അവിടെ ആടുകളെ കിടത്തുകയും ഇല്ല.

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.മരുമൃഗങ്ങൾ അവിടെ കിടക്കും; അവരുടെ വീടുകളിൽ മൂങ്ങാ നിറയും; ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷികൾ അവിടെ പാർക്കും; ഭൂതങ്ങൾ അവിടെ നൃത്തം ചെയ്യും.

And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.അവരുടെ അരമനകളിൽ ചെന്നായ്ക്കളും അവരുടെ മനോഹരമന്ദിരങ്ങളിൽ കുറുനരികളും ഓളിയിടും; അതിന്റെ സമയം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കാലം ദീർഘിച്ചുപോകയുമില്ല.

Isaiah 14

For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.യഹോവ യാക്കോബിനോടു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു സ്വദേശത്തു അവരെ പാർപ്പിക്കും; അന്യജാതിക്കാരും അവരോടു യോജിച്ചു യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തോടു ചേർന്നുകൊള്ളും.

And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.ജാതികൾ അവരെ കൂട്ടി അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരും; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം അവരെ യഹോവയുടെ ദേശത്തു ദാസന്മാരായും ദാസിമാരായും അടക്കിക്കൊള്ളും; തങ്ങളെ ബദ്ധന്മാരാക്കിയവരെ അവർ ബദ്ധന്മാരാക്കുകയും തങ്ങളെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചവരെ വാഴുകയും ചെയ്യും.

And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear, and from the hard bondage wherein you were made to serve,യഹോവ നിന്റെ വ്യസനവും നിന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും നീ ചെയ്യണ്ടിവന്ന നിന്റെ കഠിനദാസ്യവും നീക്കി നിനക്കു വിശ്രാമം നല്കുന്ന നാളിൽ

That you shall take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How has the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!നീ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഈ പാട്ടു ചൊല്ലും: പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ എങ്ങനെ ഇല്ലാതെയായി! സ്വർണ്ണനഗരം എങ്ങനെ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയി!

The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.യഹോവ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വടിയും വാഴുന്നവരുടെ ചെങ്കോലും ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

He who stroke the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hinders.വംശങ്ങളെ ഇടവിടാതെ ക്രോധത്തോടെ അടിക്കയും ആർക്കും അടത്തുകൂടാത്ത ഉപദ്രവത്താൽ ജാതികളെ കോപത്തോടെ ഭരിക്കയും ചെയ്തവനെ തന്നേ.

The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.സർവ്വഭൂമിയും വിശ്രമിച്ചു സ്വസ്ഥമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ആർത്തു പാടുന്നു.

Yea, the fir trees rejoice at you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since you are laid down, no tree chopper has come up against us.സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ലെബാനോനിലെ ദേവദാരുക്കളും നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു: നീ വീണുകിടന്നതുമുതൽ ഒരു വെട്ടുകാരനും ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ കയറിവരുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

Hell from beneath is moved for you to meet you at your coming: it stirs up the dead for you, even all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.നിന്റെ വരവിങ്കൽ നിന്നെ എതിരേല്പാൻ താഴേ പാതാളം നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഇളകിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു നിന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി സകലഭൂപാലന്മാരുമായ പ്രേതന്മാരെ ഉണർത്തുകയും ജാതികളുടെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും സിംഹാസനങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

All they shall speak and say unto you, Are you also become weak as we? are you become like unto us?അവരൊക്കെയും നിന്നോടു: നീയും ഞങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ബലഹീനനായോ? നീയും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തുല്യനായ്തീർന്നുവോ? എന്നു പറയും.

Your pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of your viols: the worm is spread under you, and the worms cover you.നിന്റെ ആഡംബരവും വാദ്യഘോഷവും പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയി; നിന്റെ കീഴെ പുഴുക്കളെ വിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; കൃമികൾ നിനക്കു പുതെപ്പായിരിക്കുന്നു.

How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations!അരുണോദയപുത്രനായ ശുക്രാ, നീ എങ്ങനെ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു വീണു! ജാതികളെ താഴ്ത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞവനേ, നീ എങ്ങനെ വെട്ടേറ്റു നിലത്തു വീണു!

For you have said in yours heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:“ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ കയറും; എന്റെ സിംഹാസനം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾക്കു മീതെ വെക്കും; ഉത്തരദിക്കിന്റെ അതൃത്തിയിൽ സമാഗമപർവ്വതത്തിന്മേൽ ഞാൻ ഇരുന്നരുളും;

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.ഞാൻ മേഘോന്നതങ്ങൾക്കു മീതെ കയറും; ഞാൻ അത്യുന്നതനോടു സമനാകും” എന്നല്ലോ നീ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞതു.

Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.എന്നാൽ നീ പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു, നാശകൂപത്തിന്റെ അടിയിലേക്കു തന്നേ വീഴും.

They that see you shall narrowly look upon you, and consider you, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;നിന്നെ കാണുന്നവർ നിന്നെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കി: ഭൂമിയെ നടുക്കുകയും രാജ്യങ്ങളെ കുലുക്കുകയും

That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?ഭൂതലത്തെ മരുഭൂമിപോലെ ആക്കുകയും അതിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളെ ഇടിച്ചുകളകയും തന്റെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു അഴിച്ചുവിടാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തവൻ ഇവനല്ലയോ എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കും.

All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.ജാതികളുടെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരും ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ താന്താന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽ മഹത്വത്തോടെ കിടന്നുറങ്ങുന്നു.

But you are cast out of your grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcass trodden under feet.നിന്നെയോ നിന്ദ്യമായോരു ചുള്ളിയെപ്പോലെയും വാൾകൊണ്ടു കുത്തേറ്റു മരിച്ചു കുഴിയിലെ കല്ലുകളോളം ഇറങ്ങിയവരെക്കൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നവനായി ചവിട്ടിമെതിച്ച ശവംപോലെയും നിന്റെ കല്ലറയിൽനിന്നു എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

You shall not be joined with them in burial, because you have destroyed your land, and slain your people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.നീ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു അവരെപ്പോലെ ശവസംസ്കാരം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സന്തതിയുടെ പേർ എന്നും നിലനിൽക്കയില്ല.

Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.അവന്റെ മക്കൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഭൂമിയെ കൈവശമാക്കുകയും ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ ഉപരിഭാഗത്തെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾകൊണ്ടു നിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർക്കു അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം ഒരു കുലനിലം ഒരുക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ.

For I will rise up against them, says the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, says the LORD.ഞാൻ അവർക്കു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ബാബേലിൽനിന്നു പേരിനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിനെയും പുത്രനെയും പൌത്രനെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, says the LORD of hosts.ഞാൻ അതിനെ മുള്ളൻ പന്നിയുടെ അവകാശവും നീർപ്പൊയ്കകളും ആക്കും; ഞാൻ അതിനെ നാശത്തിന്റെ ചൂലുകൊണ്ടു തൂത്തുവാരും എന്നും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ആണയിട്ടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു: ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചതുപോലെ സംഭവിക്കും; ഞാൻ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചതുപോലെ നിവൃത്തിയാകും.

²⁵

That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.എന്റെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു ഞാൻ അശ്ശൂരിനെ തകർക്കും; എന്റെ പർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽവെച്ചു അവനെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും; അങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ നുകം അവരുടെമേൽ നിന്നു നീങ്ങും; അവന്റെ ചുമടു അവരുടെ തോളിൽനിന്നു മാറിപ്പോകും.

²⁶

This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.സർവ്വഭൂമിയെയും കുറിച്ചു നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിർണ്ണയം ഇതാകുന്നു; സകലജാതികളുടെയും മേൽ നീട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്ന കൈ ഇതു തന്നേ.

For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who shall nullify it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ദുർബ്ബലമാക്കുന്നവനാർ? അവന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു മടക്കുന്നവനാർ?

²⁸

In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.ആഹാസ്‌രാജാവു മരിച്ച ആണ്ടിൽ ഈ പ്രവാചകം ഉണ്ടായി:

Rejoice not you, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that stroke you is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.സകലഫെലിസ്ത്യ ദേശവുമായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്നെ അടിച്ചവന്റെ വടി ഒടിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു നീ സന്തോഷിക്കേണ്ടാ; സർപ്പത്തിന്റെ വേരിൽനിന്നു ഒരു അണലി പുറപ്പെടും; അതിന്റെ ഫലം, പറക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിസർപ്പമായിരിക്കും.

And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill your root with famine, and he shall slay your remnant.എളിയവരുടെ ആദ്യജാതന്മാർ മേയും; ദരിദ്രന്മാർ നിർഭയമായി കിടക്കും; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ വേരിനെ ഞാൻ ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കുമാറാക്കും; നിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പിനെ അവൻ കൊല്ലും.

Wail, O gate; cry, O city; you, whole Palestina, are dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.വാതിലേ, അലറുക; പട്ടണമേ നിലവിളിക്ക; സകല ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശവുമായുള്ളോവേ, നീ അലിഞ്ഞുപോയി; വടക്കുനിന്നു ഒരു പുകവരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഗണങ്ങളിൽ ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുന്ന ഒരുത്തനും ഇല്ല.

What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.ജാതികളുടെ ദൂതന്മാർക്കു കിട്ടുന്ന മറുപടിയോ: യഹോവ സീയോനെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടെ അവന്റെ ജനത്തിലെ അരിഷ്ടന്മാർ ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കും എന്നത്രേ.

Isaiah 15

The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകം: ഒരു രാത്രിയിൽ മോവാബിലെ ആർപട്ടണം നശിച്ചു ശൂന്യമായിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഒരു രാത്രിയിൽ മോവാബിലെ കീർപട്ടണം നശിച്ചു ശൂന്യമായിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall wail over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.ബയീത്തും ദീബോനും കരയേണ്ടതിന്നു പൂജാഗിരികളിൽ കയറിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; നെബോവിലും മേദെബയിലും മോവാബ് നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ തലയൊക്കെയും മൊട്ടയടിച്ചും താടിയൊക്കെയും കത്രിച്ചും ഇരിക്കന്നു.

In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall wail, weeping abundantly.അവരുടെ വീഥികളിൽ അവർ രട്ടുടുത്തു നടക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ പുരമുകളിലും വിശാലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും എല്ലാവരും മുറയിട്ടു കരയുന്നു.

And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous unto him.ഹെശ്ബോനും എലെയാലെയും നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഒച്ച യഹസ്വരെ കേൾക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു മോവാബിന്റെ ആയുധപാണികൾ അലറുന്നു; അവന്റെ പ്രാണൻ അവന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ നടങ്ങുന്നു.

My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.എന്റെ ഹൃദയം മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ കുലീനന്മാർ സോവാരിലേക്കും എഗ്ളത്ത് ശെളീശീയയിലേക്കും ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു ലൂഹീത്തിലേക്കുള്ള കയറ്റത്തിൽ കൂടി അവർ കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു കയറിച്ചെല്ലുന്നു; ഹോരോനയീമിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയിൽ അവർ നാശത്തിന്റെ നിലവിളി കൂട്ടുന്നു.

For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass fails, there is no green thing.നിമ്രീമിലെ ജലാശയങ്ങൾ വരണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു പുല്ലുണങ്ങി, ഇളമ്പുല്ലു വാടി, പച്ചയായതൊക്കെയും ഇല്ലാതെയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore the abundance they have got, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away to the brook of the willows.ആകയാൽ അവർ സ്വരൂപിച്ച സമ്പത്തും സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെച്ചതും അലരിത്തോട്ടിന്നക്കരെക്കു എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.

For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beerelim.നിലവിളി മോവാബിന്റെ അതൃത്തികളെ ചുറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അലർച്ച എഗ്ളയീംവരെയും കൂക്കൽ ബേർ-ഏലീംവരെയും എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapes of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.ദീമോനിലെ ജലാശയങ്ങൾ രക്തംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ ദീമോന്റെമേൽ ഇതിലധികം വരുത്തും; മോവാബിൽനിന്നു ചാടിപ്പോയവരുടെമേലും ദേശത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവരുടെമേലും ഞാൻ ഒരു സിംഹത്തെ വരുത്തും.
