Ezra 10

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.എസ്രാ ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിൽ വീണുകിടന്നു കരഞ്ഞുപ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയും ഏറ്റുപറകയും ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളും പൈതങ്ങളുമായി യിസ്രായേല്യരുടെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയോരു സഭ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നുകൂടി; ജനവും വളരെ കരഞ്ഞു.

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.അപ്പോൾ ഏലാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനായ യെഹീയേലിന്റെ മകൻ ശെഖന്യാവു എസ്രയോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നാം നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തു ദേശനിവാസികളിൽനിന്നു അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഇനിയും പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.

Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.ഇപ്പോൾ ആ സ്ത്രീകളെ ഒക്കെയും അവരിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരെയും യജമാനന്റെയും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പനയിങ്കൽ വിറെക്കുന്നവരുടെയും നിർണ്ണയപ്രകാരം നീക്കിക്കളവാൻ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു നാം ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുക; അതു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു അനുസാരമായി നടക്കട്ടെ.

Arise; for this matter belongs unto you: we also will be with you: be of good courage, and do it.എഴുന്നേൽക്ക; ഇതു നീ നിർവ്വഹിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന കാര്യം ആകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു തുണയായിരിക്കും; ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു പ്രവർത്തിക്ക.

Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they swore.അങ്ങനെ എസ്രാ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഈ വാക്കു പോലെ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ലേവ്യരുടെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്യരെയുംകൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു; അവർ സത്യം ചെയ്തു.

Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.എസ്രാ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു എല്യാശീബിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോഹാനാന്റെ അറയിൽ ചെന്നു പ്രവാസികളുടെ ദ്രോഹംനിമിത്തം അവൻ ദുഃഖിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അപ്പം തിന്നാതെയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാതെയും അവിടെ രാപാർത്തു.

And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;അനന്തരം അവർ സകലപ്രവാസികളും യെരൂശലേമിൽ വന്നുകൂടേണം എന്നു

And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും നിർണ്ണയപ്രകാരം മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിന്നകം ആരെങ്കിലും വരാതെയിരുന്നാൽ അവന്റെ വസ്തുവക ഒക്കെയും കണ്ടുകെട്ടിയെടുക്കയും അവനെ പ്രവാസികളുടെ സഭയിൽ നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നും യെഹൂദയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി.

Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.അങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദയുടെയും ബെന്യാമീന്റെയും സകലപുരുഷന്മാരും മൂന്നാം ദിവസത്തിന്നകം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വന്നുകൂടി; അതു ഒമ്പതാം മാസം ഇരുപതാം തിയ്യതി ആയിരുന്നു; സകലജനവും ആ കാര്യം ഹേതുവായിട്ടും വന്മഴനിമിത്തവും വിറെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ മുറ്റത്തു ഇരുന്നു.

And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, All of you have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.അപ്പോൾ എസ്രാപുരോഹിതൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ദ്രോഹംചെയ്തു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കുറ്റത്തെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.ആകയാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു പാപം ഏറ്റുപറകയും അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം അനുസരിച്ചു ദേശനിവാസികളോടും അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളോടും വേർപെടുകയും ചെയ്‍വിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As you have said, so must we do.അതിന്നു സർവ്വസഭയും ഉറക്കെ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുപോലെ തന്നേ ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാകന്നു.

But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.എങ്കിലും ജനം വളരെയും ഇതു വർഷകാലവും ആകുന്നു; വെളിയിൽ നില്പാൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിവില്ല; ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അനേകരും ലംഘനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കയാൽ ഇതു ഒരു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടോ രണ്ടു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടോ തീരുന്ന സംഗതിയുമല്ല.

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.ആകയാൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ സർവ്വസഭെക്കും പ്രതിനിധികളായി നിൽക്കട്ടെ; ഈ കാര്യം നിമിത്തം നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ള കഠിനകോപം ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുമാറുവോളവും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഏവരും അവരോടുകൂടെ അവിടങ്ങളിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും ന്യായാധിപതിമാരും നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയങ്ങളിൽ വരികയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.അതിന്നു അസാഹേലിന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാനും തിക്ക്വയുടെ മകനായ യഹ്സെയാവും മാത്രം വിരോധം പറഞ്ഞു; മെശുല്ലാമും ശബ്ബെഥായി എന്ന ലേവ്യനും അവരെ താങ്ങിപ്പറഞ്ഞു.

And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.പ്രവാസികളോ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു, എസ്രാപുരോഹിതനെയും പിതൃഭവനം പിതൃഭവനമായി ചില പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരെയും പേരുപേരായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു, അവർ ഈ കാര്യം വിസ്തരിപ്പാൻ പത്താം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യോഗംകൂടി.

And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരുന്ന സകലപുരുഷന്മാരുടെയും കാര്യം അവർ ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതികൊണ്ടു തീർത്തു.

And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരിലും അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചവരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവരാരെന്നാൽ: യോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യേശുവയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരിലും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിലും; മയശേയാവു, എലീയേസെർ, യാരീബ്, ഗെദല്യാവു എന്നിവർ തന്നേ.

And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass.ഇവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാം എന്നു കയ്യടിച്ചു; അവർ കുറ്റക്കാരായതുകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ കുറ്റത്തിന്നായി ഓരോ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെ യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah.ഇമ്മേരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: ഹനാനി, സെബദ്യാവു.

And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.ഹാരീമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: മയശേയാവു, ഏലീയാവു, ശെമയ്യാവു, യെഹീയേൽ, ഉസ്സീയാവു.

And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.പശ്ഹൂരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: എല്യോവേനായി, മയശേയാവു, യിശ്മായേൽ, നെഥനയേൽ, യോസാബാദ്, എലെയാസാ.

Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same is Kelita,) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.ലേവ്യരിൽ യോസാബാദ്, ശിമെയി, കെലീതാ എന്നു പേരുള്ള കേലായാവു, പെഥഹ്യാവു, യെഹൂദാ, എലീയേസെർ.

Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.സംഗീതക്കാരിൽ: എല്യാശീബ്. വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാരിൽ: ശല്ലൂം, തേലെം, ഊരി.

Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.യിസ്രായേല്യരിൽ, പരോശിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: രമ്യാവു, യിശ്ശീയാവു, മൽക്കീയാവു, മീയാമീൻ, എലെയാസാർ, മൽക്കീയാവു, ബെനായാവു.

And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah.ഏലാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: മഥന്യാവു, സെഖർയ്യാവു, യെഹീയേൽ, അബ്ദി, യെരേമോത്ത്, ഏലീയാവു.

And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.സത്ഥൂവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: എല്യോവേനായി, എല്യാശീബ്, മത്ഥന്യാവു, യെരേമോത്ത്, സാബാദ്, അസീസാ.

Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai.ബേബായിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: യെഹോഹാനാൻ, ഹനന്യാവു, സബ്ബായി, അഥെലായി.

And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.ബാനിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: മെശുല്ലാം, മല്ലൂക്; അദായാവു, യാശൂബ്, ശെയാൽ, യെരേമോത്ത്.

Of the sons of Nebo; Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, and Joel, Benaiah.നെബോവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ: യെയീയേൽ, മിത്ഥിത്ഥ്യാവു, സാബാദ്, സെബീനാ, യദ്ദായി, യോവേൽ, ബെനായാവു.

All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children.ഇവർ എല്ലാവരും അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവരിൽ ചിലർക്കു മക്കളെ പ്രസവിച്ച ഭാര്യമാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

Nehemiah 1

The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,ഹഖല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ നെഹെമ്യാവിന്റെ ചരിത്രം. ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടിൽ കിസ്ളേവ് മാസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ശൂശൻ രാജധാനിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ

That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനായ, ഹനാനിയും യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നു ചില പുരുഷന്മാരും വന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരോടു പ്രവാസത്തിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയ യെഹൂദന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചും യെരൂശലേമിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ചോദിച്ചു.

And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.അതിന്നു അവർ എന്നോടു: പ്രവാസത്തിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി ശേഷിപ്പു അവിടെ ആ സംസ്ഥാനത്തു മഹാകഷ്ടത്തിലും അപമാനത്തിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതിൽ ഇടിഞ്ഞും അതിന്റെ വാതിലുകൾ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടും കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,ഈ വർത്തമാനം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഇരുന്നു കരഞ്ഞു; കുറെനാൾ ദുഃഖിച്ചും ഉപവസിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തോടു ഞാൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

And said, I plead to you, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keeps covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു നിന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നിയമവും ദയയും പാലിക്കുന്ന മഹാനും ഭയങ്കരനുമായ ദൈവമേ,

Let yours ear now be attentive, and yours eyes open, that you may hear the prayer of your servant, which I pray before you now, day and night, for the children of Israel your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against you: both I and my father's house have sinned.നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു വേണ്ടി രാവും പകലും നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളായ ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റുപറകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന അടിയന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചും നിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നും ഇരിക്കേണമേ; ഞാനും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

We have dealt very corruptly against you, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which you commandedst your servant Moses.ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോടു ഏറ്റവും വഷളത്വമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെയോടു നീ കല്പിച്ച കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.

Remember, I plead to you, the word that you commandedst your servant Moses, saying, If all of you transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:നിങ്ങൾ ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്താൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചിന്നിച്ചുകളയും;

But if all of you turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു അവയെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭ്രഷ്ടന്മാർ ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അറുതിവരെയും എത്തിയിരുന്നാലും ഞാൻ അവിടെനിന്നു അവരെ ശേഖരിച്ചു, എന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരും എന്നു നിന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെയോടു നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം ഓർക്കേണമേ.

Now these are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power, and by your strong hand.അവർ നിന്റെ മഹാശക്തികൊണ്ടും ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടും നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്ത നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരും നിന്റെ ജനവുമല്ലോ.

O LORD, I plead to you, let now yours ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who desire to fear your name: and prosper, I pray you, your servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.കർത്താവേ, നിന്റെ ചെവി അടിയന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥനെക്കും നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുവാൻ താല്പര്യപ്പെടുന്ന നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ പ്രാർത്ഥനെക്കും ശ്രദ്ധയുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണമേ. ഇന്നു അടിയന്നു കാര്യം സാധിപ്പിച്ചു ഈ മനുഷ്യന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ എനിക്കു ദയ ലഭിക്കുമാറാക്കേണമേ. ഞാൻ രാജാവിന്നു പാനപാത്രവാഹകനായിരുന്നു.

Nehemiah 2

And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been in time past sad in his presence.അർത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാരാജാവിന്റെ ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടിൽ നീസാൻ മാസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ഒരിക്കൽ രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഇരുന്ന വീഞ്ഞു എടുത്തു അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു; ഞാൻ ഇതിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഒരിക്കലും അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ കുണ്ഠിതനായിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല.

Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is your countenance sad, seeing you are not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,രാജാവു എന്നോടു: നിന്റെ മുഖം വാടിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിനക്കു ദീനം ഒന്നും ഇല്ലല്ലോ; ഇതു മനോ ദുഃഖമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchers, lies waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു രാജാവിനോടു: രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകൾ ഉള്ള പട്ടണം ശൂന്യമായും അതിന്റെ വാതിലുകൾ തീകൊണ്ടു വെന്തും കിടക്കെ എന്റെ മുഖം വാടാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the king said unto me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.രാജാവു എന്നോടു: നിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; ഉടനെ ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചിട്ടു,

And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if your servant have found favour in your sight, that you would send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchers, that I may build it.രാജാവിനോടു: രാജാവിന്നു തിരുവുള്ളമുണ്ടായി അടിയന്നു തിരുമുമ്പിൽ ദയ ലഭിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ അടിയനെ യെഹൂദയിൽ എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളുള്ള പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു അതു പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒന്നു അയക്കേണമേ എന്നുണർത്തിച്ചു.

And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall your journey be? and when will you return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.അതിന്നു രാജാവു--രാജ്ഞിയും അരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു--: നിന്റെ യാത്രെക്കു എത്രനാൾ വേണം? നീ എപ്പോൾ മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു എന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ എന്നെ അയപ്പാൻ രാജാവിന്നു സമ്മതമായി; ഞാൻ ഒരു അവധിയും പറഞ്ഞു.

Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;രാജാവിന്നു തിരുവുള്ളമുണ്ടായി ഞാൻ യെഹൂദയിൽ എത്തുംവരെ നദിക്കു അക്കരെയുള്ള ദേശാധിപതിമാർ എന്നെ കടത്തിവിടേണ്ടതിന്നു

And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.അവർക്കു എഴുത്തുകളും ആലയത്തോടു ചേർന്ന കോട്ടവാതിലുകൾക്കും പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മതിലിന്നും ഞാൻ ചെന്നു പാർപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന വീട്ടിന്നും വേണ്ടി ഉത്തരം മുതലായവ ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാൻ രാജാവിന്റെ വനവിചാരകനായ ആസാഫ് എനിക്കു മരം തരേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു ഒരു എഴുത്തും നല്കേണമേ എന്നും ഞാൻ രാജാവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു. എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയുള്ള കൈ എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു രാജാവു അതു എനിക്കു തന്നു.

Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me.അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ നദിക്കു അക്കരെയുള്ള ദേശാധിപതിമാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ എഴുത്തു അവർക്കു കൊടുത്തു. രാജാവു പടനായകന്മാരെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും എന്നോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചിരുന്നു.

When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.ഹോരോന്യനായ സൻബല്ലത്തും അമ്മോന്യനായ ദാസൻ തോബീയാവും ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു ഗുണം ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഒരു ആൾ വന്നതു അവർക്കു ഏറ്റവും അനിഷ്ടമായി.

So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days.ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തി അവിടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം താമസിച്ചശേഷം

And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon.ഞാനും എന്നോടുകൂടെ ചില പുരുഷന്മാരും രാത്രിയിൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റു; എന്നാൽ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ചെയ്‍വാൻ എന്റെ ദൈവം എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ തോന്നിച്ചിരുന്നതു ഞാൻ ആരോടും പറഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലായിരുന്നു; ഞാൻ കയറിയിരുന്ന മൃഗം അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു മൃഗവും എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.ഞാൻ രാത്രിയിൽ താഴ്വരവാതിൽ വഴിയായി പെരുമ്പാമ്പുറവിങ്കലും കുപ്പവാതിൽക്കലും ചെന്നു യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതിൽ ഇടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നതും വാതിലുകൾ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു.

Then I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to the king's pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass.പിന്നെ ഞാൻ ഉറവു വാതിൽക്കലേക്കും രാജാവിന്റെ കുളത്തിങ്കലേക്കും ചെന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ കയറിയിരുന്ന മൃഗത്തിന്നു കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ സ്ഥലം പോരാതിരുന്നു.

Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned.രാത്രിയിൽ തന്നേ ഞാൻ തോട്ടിന്റെ അരികത്തുകൂടി ചെന്നു മതിൽ നോക്കി കണ്ടു താഴ്വരവാതിലിൻ വഴിയായി മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

And the rulers knew not where I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.ഞാൻ എവിടെപ്പോയി എന്നും എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നും പ്രമാണികളാരും അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; അന്നുവരെ ഞാൻ യെഹൂദന്മാരോടോ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടോ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടോ പ്രമാണികളോടോ വേലയെടുക്കുന്ന ശേഷം പേരോടോ യാതൊന്നും അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല.

Then said I unto them, All of you see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.അനന്തരം ഞാൻ അവരോടു: യെരൂശലേം ശൂന്യമായും അതിന്റെ വാതിലുകൾ തീകൊണ്ടു വെന്തും കിടക്കുന്നതായി നാം അകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ അനർത്ഥം നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ; വരുവിൻ; നാം ഇനിയും നിന്ദാപാത്രമായിരിക്കാതവണ്ണം യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതിൽ പണിയുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നതും രാജാവു എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച വാക്കുകളും ഞാൻ അറിയിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ: നാം എഴുന്നേറ്റു പണിയുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ആ നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തിക്കായി അന്യോന്യം ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തി.

But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that all of you do? will all of you rebel against the king?എന്നാൽ ഹോരോന്യനായ സൻ ബല്ലത്തും അമ്മോന്യനായ ദാസൻ തോബീയാവും അരാബ്യനായ ഗേശെമും ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ പരിഹസിച്ചു നിന്ദിച്ചു; നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു? നിങ്ങൾ രാജാവിനോടു മത്സരിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but all of you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.അതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവരോടു: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കാര്യം സാധിപ്പിക്കും; ആകയാൽ അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ ഞങ്ങൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പണിയും; നിങ്ങൾക്കോ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒരു ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ജ്ഞാപകവുമില്ല എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
