Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongs to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.അനന്തരം ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ സൈന്യങ്ങളെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവൻ യെഹൂദെക്കുള്ള സോഖോവിൽ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി സോഖോവിന്നും അസേക്കെക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ഏഫെസ്-ദമ്മീമിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines.ശൌലും യിസ്രായേല്യരും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി, ഏലാതാഴ്വരയിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോടു പടെക്കു അണിനിരത്തി;

And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ ഇപ്പുറത്തു ഒരു മലഞ്ചരിവിലും യിസ്രായേല്യർ അപ്പുറത്തു ഒരു മലഞ്ചരിവിലും നിന്നു; അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു താഴ്വര ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.അപ്പോൾ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്നു ഗഥ്യനായ ഗൊല്യാത്ത് എന്ന ഒരു മല്ലൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ ആറു മുഴവും ഒരു ചാണും നെടുപ്പമുള്ളവൻ ആയിരുന്നു.

And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of armour formed by chains; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.അവന്നു തലയിൽ ഒരു താമ്രശിരസ്ത്രം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അയ്യായിരം ശേക്കെൽ തൂക്കമുള്ള ഒരു താമ്രകവചവും ധരിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And he had protective leg armor of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.അവന്നു താമ്രംകൊണ്ടുള്ള കാൽചട്ടയും ചുമലിൽ താമ്രം കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു വേലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.അവന്റെ കുന്തത്തിന്റെ തണ്ടു നെയ്ത്തുകാരന്റെ പടപ്പുതടിപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; കുന്തത്തിന്റെ അലകു അറുനൂറു ശേക്കെൽ ഇരിമ്പു ആയിരുന്നു; ഒരു പരിചക്കാരൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പെ നടന്നു.

And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are all of you come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and all of you servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.അവൻ നിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽ നിരകളോടു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ വന്നു പടെക്കു അണിനിരന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? ഞാൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യനും നിങ്ങൾ ശൌലിന്റെ ചേവകരും അല്ലയോ? നിങ്ങൾ ഒരുത്തനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊൾവിൻ; അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഇറങ്ങിവരട്ടെ.

If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall all of you be our servants, and serve us.അവൻ എന്നോടു അങ്കം പൊരുതു എന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ പ്രാപ്തനായാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അടിമകൾ ആകാം; ഞാൻ അവനെ ജയിച്ചു കൊന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അടിമകളായി ഞങ്ങളെ സേവിക്കേണം.

And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ പിന്നെയും: ഞാൻ ഇന്നു യിസ്രായേൽ നിരകളെ വെല്ലുവിളിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ അങ്കം പൊരുതേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരുത്തനെ വിട്ടു തരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.ഫെലിസ്ത്യന്റെ ഈ വാക്കുകൾ ശൌലും എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്യരും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഭ്രമിച്ചു ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ് യെഹൂദയിലെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ യിശ്ശായി എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു എഫ്രാത്യന്റെ മകൻ ആയിരുന്നു; യിശ്ശായിക്കു എട്ടു മക്കൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ശൌലിന്റെ കാലത്തു വയസ്സുചെന്നു വൃദ്ധനായിരുന്നു.

And the three eldest sons of Jesse went and followed Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the battle were Eliab the firstborn, and next unto him Abinadab, and the third Shammah.യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മൂത്ത മക്കൾ മൂവരും പുറപ്പെട്ടു ശൌലിന്റെ കൂടെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു ചെന്നിരുന്നു. യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോയ മൂന്നു മക്കൾ ആദ്യജാതൻ ഏലീയാബും അവന്റെ അനുജൻ അബീനാദാബും മൂന്നാമത്തെവൻ ശമ്മയും ആയിരുന്നു.

And David was the youngest: and the three eldest followed Saul.ദാവീദോ എല്ലാവരിലും ഇളയവൻ; മൂത്തവർ മൂവരും ശൌലിന്റെ കൂടെ പോയിരുന്നു.

But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem.ദാവിദ് ശൌലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകളെ മേയിപ്പാൻ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ പോയിവരിക പതിവായിരുന്നു.

And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.ആ ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ നാല്പതു ദിവസം മുടങ്ങാതെ രാവിലെയും വൈകുന്നേരവും മുമ്പോട്ടു വന്നുനിന്നു.

And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for your brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp of your brethren;യിശ്ശായി തന്റെ മകനായ ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഈ ഒരു പറ മലരും അപ്പം പത്തും എടുത്തു പാളയത്തിൽ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വേഗം കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു കൊടുക്ക.

And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how your brethren fare, and take their pledge.ഈ പാൽക്കട്ട പത്തും സഹസ്രാധിപന്നു കൊടുക്ക; നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേമം ചോദിച്ചു ലക്ഷ്യവും വാങ്ങി വരിക.

Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.ശൌലും അവരും യിസ്രായേല്യർ ഒക്കെയും ഏലാതാഴ്വരയിൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ടു.

And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle.അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു ആടുകളെ കാവൽക്കാരന്റെ പക്കൽ വിട്ടേച്ചു, യിശ്ശായി തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു കൈനിലയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ സൈന്യം പടെക്കു ആർത്തുവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു.

For Israel and the Philistines had put the battle in array, army against army.യിസ്രായേലും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരും നേർക്കുനേരെ അണിനിരന്നുനിന്നു.

And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren.ദാവീദ് തന്റെ സാമാനം പടക്കോപ്പു സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്റെ പക്കൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുംവെച്ചു അണിയിൽ ഓടിച്ചെന്നു തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടു കുശലം ചോദിച്ചു.

And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spoke according to the same words: and David heard them.അവൻ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നില്ക്കുമ്പോൾ ഗഥ്യനായ ഗൊല്യാത്ത് എന്ന ഫെലിസ്ത്യമല്ലൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ നിരകളിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നു മുമ്പിലത്തെ വാക്കുകൾതന്നേ പറയുന്നതു ദാവീദ് കേട്ടു.

And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേല്യരൊക്കെയും ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഓടി.

And the men of Israel said, Have all of you seen this man that has come up? surely to defy Israel is he comes up: and it shall be, that the man who kills him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.എന്നാറെ യിസ്രായേല്യർ: വന്നു നില്ക്കുന്ന ഇവനെ കണ്ടുവോ? അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ നിന്ദിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നവനെ രാജാവു മഹാസമ്പന്നനാക്കുകയും തന്റെ മകളെ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കുകയും അവന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നു യിസ്രായേലിൽ കരമൊഴിവു കല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നില്ക്കുന്നവരോടു: ഈ ഫെലിസ്ത്യനെകൊന്നു യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു നിന്ദയെ നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നവന്നു എന്തു കൊടുക്കും? ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സേനകളെ നിന്ദിപ്പാൻ ഈ അഗ്രചർമ്മിയായ ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ ആർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that kills him.അതിന്നു ജനം: അവനെ കൊല്ലുവന്നു ഇന്നിന്നതൊക്കെയും കൊടുക്കും എന്നു അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why came you down here? and with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride, and the naughtiness of yours heart; for you are come down that you might see the battle.അവരോടു അവൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു അവന്റെ മൂത്ത ജ്യേഷ്ഠൻ എലീയാബ് കേട്ടു ദാവീദിനോടു കോപിച്ചു: നീ ഇവിടെ എന്തിന്നു വന്നു? മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ആ കുറെ ആടുള്ളതു നീ ആരുടെ പക്കൽ വിട്ടേച്ചുപോന്നു? നിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരവും നിഗളഭാവവും എനിക്കറിയാം; പട കാണ്മാനല്ലേ നീ വന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?അതിന്നു ദാവീദ്: ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? ഒരു വാക്കല്ലേ പറഞ്ഞുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he turned from him toward another, and spoke after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.അവൻ അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറി മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചോദിച്ചു; ജനം മുമ്പിലത്തേപ്പോലെ തന്നേ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when the words were heard which David spoke, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him.ദാവീദ് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകൾ പരസ്യമായപ്പോൾ ശൌലിന്നും അറിവു കിട്ടി; അവൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി.

And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.ദാവീദ് ശൌലിനോടു: ഇവന്റെ നിമിത്തം ആരും അധൈര്യപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; അടിയൻ ചെന്നു ഈ ഫെലിസ്ത്യനോടു അങ്കം പൊരുതും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Saul said to David, You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനോടു: ഈ ഫെലിസ്ത്യനോടു ചെന്നു അങ്കം പൊരുതുവാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല; നീ ബാലൻ അത്രേ; അവനോ, ബാല്യംമുതൽ യോദ്ധാവാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And David said unto Saul, Your servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:ദാവീദ് ശൌലിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: അടിയൻ അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകളെ മേയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരിക്കൽ ഒരു സിംഹവും ഒരിക്കൽ ഒരു കരടിയും വന്നു കൂട്ടത്തിൽ നിന്നു ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടിയെ പിടിച്ചു.

And I went out after him, and stroke him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and stroke him, and slew him.ഞാൻ പിന്തുടർന്നു അതിനെ അടിച്ചു അതിന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടിയെ വിടുവിച്ചു, അതു എന്റെ നേരെ വന്നപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അതിനെ താടിക്കു പിടിച്ചു അടിച്ചു കൊന്നു.

Your servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.ഇങ്ങനെ അടിയൻ സിംഹത്തെയും കരടിയെയും കൊന്നു; ഈ അഗ്രചർമ്മിയായ ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തെ നിന്ദിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവനും അവയിൽ ഒന്നിനെപ്പോലെ ആകും.

David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with you.ദാവീദ് പിന്നെയും: സിംഹത്തിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും കരടിയുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും എന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ച യഹോവ ഈ ഫെലിസ്ത്യന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനോടു: ചെല്ലുക; യഹോവ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of armour formed by chains.ശൌൽ തന്റെ പടയങ്കി ദാവീദിനെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു അവന്റെ തലയിൽ താമ്രശിരസ്ത്രംവെച്ചു; തന്റെ കവചവും അവനെ ഇടുവിച്ചു.

And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.പടയങ്കിമേൽ അവന്റെ വാളും കെട്ടി ദാവീദ് നടപ്പാൻ നോക്കി; എന്നാൽ അവന്നു ശീലമില്ലായിരുന്നു; ദാവീദ് ശൌലിനോടു: ഞാൻ ശീലിച്ചിട്ടില്ലായ്കയാൽ ഇവ ധരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു നടപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, അവയെ ഊരിവെച്ചു.

And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a pouch; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ വടി എടുത്തു, തോട്ടിൽനിന്നു മിനുസമുള്ള അഞ്ചു കല്ലും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു ഇടയസ്സഞ്ചിയായ പൊക്കണത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു, കയ്യിൽ കവിണയുമായി ഫെലിസ്ത്യനോടു അടുത്തു.

And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him.ഫെലിസ്ത്യനും ദാവീദിനോടു അടുത്തു; പരിചക്കാരനും അവന്റെ മുമ്പെ നടന്നു.

And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and rosy, and of a fair countenance.ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ നോക്കി ദാവീദിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു; അവൻ തീരെ ബാലനും പവിഴനിറമുള്ളവനും കോമളരൂപനും ആയിരുന്നു.

And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that you come to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ ദാവീദിനോടു: നീ വടികളുമായി എന്റെ നേരെ വരുവാൻ ഞാൻ നായോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു, തന്റെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ നാമം ചൊല്ലി ദാവീദിനെ ശപിച്ചു.

And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give your flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ പിന്നെയും ദാവീദിനോടു: ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വാ; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മാംസം ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കും കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഇരയാക്കുന്നുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said David to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ വാളും കുന്തവും വേലുമായി എന്റെ നേരെ വരുന്നു; ഞാനോ നീ നിന്ദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള യിസ്രായേൽനിരകളുടെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ നിന്റെ നേരെ വരുന്നു.

⁴⁶

This day will the LORD deliver you into mine hand; and I will strike you, and take yours head from you; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.യഹോവ ഇന്നു നിന്നെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കൊന്നു നിന്റെ തല ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും; അത്രയുമല്ല ഞാൻ ഇന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ശവങ്ങളെ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഇരയാക്കും; യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു ദൈവം ഉണ്ടെന്നു സർവ്വഭൂമിയും അറിയും.

And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands.യഹോവ വാൾകൊണ്ടും കുന്തംകൊണ്ടുമല്ല രക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഈ സംഘമെല്ലാം അറിവാൻ ഇടവരും; യുദ്ധം യഹോവെക്കുള്ളതു; അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുതരും.

And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.പിന്നെ ഫെലിസ്ത്യൻ ദാവീദിനോടു എതിർപ്പാൻ നേരിട്ടടുത്തപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഫെലിസ്ത്യനോടു എതിർപ്പാൻ അണിക്കു നേരെ ഓടി.

Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until you come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with timbrels, with joy, and with instruments of music.ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യനെ സംഹരിച്ചശേഷം അവർ മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേല്യപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നൊക്കെയും സ്ത്രീകൾ പാടിയും നൃത്തംചെയ്തുംകൊണ്ടു തപ്പും തംബുരുവുമായി സന്തോഷത്തോടെ ശൌൽരാജാവിനെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു.

And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.സ്ത്രീകൾ വാദ്യഘോഷത്തോടെ ഗാനപ്രതിഗാനമായി: ശൌൽ ആയിരത്തെ കൊന്നു ദാവീദോ പതിനായിരത്തെ എന്നു പാടി.

And Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?അപ്പോൾ ശൌൽ ഏറ്റവും കോപിച്ചു; ഈ വാക്കു അവന്നു അനിഷ്ടമായി: അവർ ദാവീദിന്നു പതിനായിരം കൊടുത്തു എനിക്കു ആയിരം മാത്രമേ തന്നുള്ളു; ഇനി രാജത്വമല്ലാതെ അവന്നു കിട്ടുവാൻ എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.അവൻ ഏറ്റവും വിവേകത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നു എന്നു ശൌൽ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവങ്കൽ ആശങ്കിതനായ്തീർന്നു.

And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give you to wife: only be you valiant for me, and fight the LORD's battles. And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, You shall this day be my son in law in the one of the two.അവൾ അവന്നു ഒരു കണിയായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കൈ അവന്റെമേൽ വീഴേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാൻ അവളെ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കും എന്നു ശൌൽ വിചാരിച്ചു ദാവീദിനോടു: നീ ഈ രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം എനിക്കു മരുമകനായി തീരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Saul's servants spoke those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seems it to you a light thing to be a king's son in law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed?ശൌലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ആ വാക്കു ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞാറെ ദാവീദ്: രാജാവിന്റെ മരുമകനാകുന്നതു അല്പകാര്യമെന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നുന്നുവോ? ഞാൻ ദരിദ്രനും എളിയവനും ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the servants of Saul told him, saying, On this manner spoke David.ശൌലിന്റെ ദൃത്യന്മാർ: ദാവീദ് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Saul said, Thus shall all of you say to David, The king desires not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. And Saul sought to strike David even to the wall with the javelin: but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he stroke the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.അപ്പോൾ ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനെ കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു ചുവരോടുചേർത്തു കുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കി; അവനോ ശൌലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞു. കുന്തം ചുവരിൽ തറെച്ചു; ദാവീദ് ആ രാത്രിയിൽതന്നേ ഓടിപ്പോയി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു.

Saul also sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's wife told him, saying, If you save not your life to night, tomorrow you shall be slain.ദാവീദിനെ കാത്തുനിന്നു രാവിലെ കൊന്നുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ശൌൽ അവന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ മീഖൾ അവനോടു: ഈ രാത്രിയിൽ നിന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടില്ലെങ്കിൽ നാളെ നിന്നെ കൊന്നുപോകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.എന്നാറെ ശൌൽ: ഞാൻ അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു കിടക്കയോടെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats' hair for his bolster.ദാവീദിനെ ചെന്നു നോക്കുവാൻ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു. ദൂതന്മാർ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ ഒരു ബിംബം തലെക്കു കോലാട്ടുരോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു മൂടിയുമായി കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And Saul said unto Michal, Why have you deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill you?എന്നാറെ ശൌൽ മീഖളിനോടു: നീ ഇങ്ങനെ എന്നെ ചതിക്കയും എന്റെ ശത്രു ചാടിപ്പോകുവാൻ അവനെ വിട്ടയക്കയും ചെയ്തതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: എന്നെ വിട്ടയക്ക; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കൊല്ലും എന്നു അവൻ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു മീഖൾ ശൌലിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് രാമയിലെ നയ്യോത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ശൌലിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടി.

And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനെ പിടിപ്പാൻ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു; അവർ പ്രവാചകസംഘം പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതും ശമൂവേൽ അവരുടെ തലവനായിരിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു ശൌലിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ മേലും വന്നു, അവരും പ്രവചിച്ചു.

And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.ശൌൽ അതു അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ വേറെ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു; അവരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പ്രവചിച്ചു. ശൌൽ പിന്നെയും മൂന്നാം പ്രാവശ്യം ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു; അവരും പ്രവചിച്ചു.

Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്നേ രാമയിലേക്കു പോയി, സേക്കൂവിലെ വലിയ കിണറ്റിങ്കൽ എത്തി: ശമൂവേലും ദാവീദും എവിടെയാകുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവർ രാമയിലെ നയ്യോത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ രാമയിലെ നയ്യോത്തിന്നു ചെന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു അവന്റെമേലും വന്നു; അവൻ രാമയിലെ നയ്യോത്തിൽ എത്തുംവരെ പ്രവചിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു നടന്നു.

And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. And David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine iniquity? and what is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?ദാവീദ് രാമയിലെ നയ്യോത്തിൽനിന്നു ഓടി യോനാഥാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? എന്റെ കുറ്റം എന്തു? നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അന്വേഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനോടു ഞാൻ ചെയ്ത പാപം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said unto him, God forbid; you shall not die: behold, my father will do nothing either great or small, but that he will show it me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so.അവൻ അവനോടു: അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കരുതേ, നീ മരിക്കയില്ല; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതെ വലുതോ ചെറുതോ യാതൊന്നും ചെയ്‍വാറില്ല; പിന്നെ ഈ കാര്യം എന്നെ മറെപ്പാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു? അങ്ങനെ വരികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And David swore moreover, and said, Your father certainly knows that I have found grace in yours eyes; and he says, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.ദാവീദ് പിന്നെയും അവനോടു: എന്നോടു നിനക്കു പ്രിയമാകുന്നുവെന്നു നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ നല്ലവണ്ണം അറികയാൽ യോനാഥാൻ ദുഃഖിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ഇതു ഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു എന്നു അവൻ വിചാരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവയാണ, നിന്നാണ, എനിക്കും മരണത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരടി അകലം മാത്രമേയുള്ളു എന്നു സത്യംചെയ്തു പറഞ്ഞു.

And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at food: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.ദാവീദ് യോനാഥാനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നാളെ അമാവാസ്യയാകുന്നു; ഞാനും രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ പന്തിഭോജനത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതല്ലോ; എങ്കിലും മറ്റെന്നാൾ വൈകുന്നേരംവരെ വയലിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു അനുവാദം തരേണം.

If your father at all miss me, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ കാണാഞ്ഞിട്ടു അന്വേഷിച്ചാൽ: ദാവീദ് സ്വന്തപട്ടണമായ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിലേക്കു ഒന്നു പോയിവരേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടു താല്പര്യമായി അനുവാദം ചോദിച്ചു; അവന്റെ കുലത്തിന്നെല്ലാം അവിടെ വർഷാന്തരയാഗം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണം.

If he say thus, It is well; your servant shall have peace: but if he be very angry, then be sure that evil is determined by him.കൊള്ളാമെന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞാൽ അടിയന്നു ശുഭം; അല്ല, കോപിച്ചാൽ: അവൻ ദോഷം നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളേണം.

Therefore you shall deal kindly with your servant; for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the LORD with you: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity, slay me yourself; for why should you bring me to your father?എന്നാൽ അങ്ങുന്നു അടിയനോടു ദയ ചെയ്യേണം; അടിയനുമായി യഹോവയെ സാക്ഷിയാക്കി സഖ്യത ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; വല്ല കുറ്റവും എന്നിൽ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലോ അങ്ങുന്നു തന്നേ എന്നെ കൊല്ലുക; അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എന്നെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ എന്തൊരാവശ്യം?

And Jonathan said, Far be it from you: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon you, then would not I tell it you?അതിന്നു യോനാഥാൻ: അങ്ങനെ നിനക്കു വരാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിനക്കു ദോഷം വരുത്തുവാൻ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞാൽ നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if your father answer you roughly?ദാവീദ് യോനാഥാനോടു: നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിന്നോടു കഠിനമായി ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞാലോ അതു ആർ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു: വരിക, നമുക്കു വയലിലേക്കു പോകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ ഇരുവരും വയലിലേക്കു പോയി.

And Jonathan said unto David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about tomorrow any time, or the third day, and, behold, if there be good toward David, and I then send not unto you, and show it you;പിന്നെ യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സാക്ഷി: നാളെ ഈ നേരത്തോ മറ്റെന്നാളോ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ അന്തർഗ്ഗതമറിഞ്ഞു നിനക്കു ഗുണമെന്നു കണ്ടാൽ ഞാൻ ആളയച്ചു നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do you evil, then I will show it you, and send you away, that you may go in peace: and the LORD be with you, as he has been with my father.എന്നാൽ നിന്നോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്‍വാനാകുന്നു എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ഭാവമെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ അതു നിന്നെ അറിയിച്ചു നീ സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ യഹോവ യോനാഥാനോടു തക്കവണ്ണവും അധികവും ചെയ്യട്ടെ; യഹോവ എന്റെ അപ്പനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്നോടു കൂടെയും ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

And you shall not only while yet I live show me the kindness of the LORD, that I die not:ഞാൻ ഇനി ജീവനോടിരിക്കയാകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ മരിക്കാതവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ ദയ നീ കാണിക്കേണ്ടതു എന്നോടു മാത്രമല്ല;

But also you shall not cut off your kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD has cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തോടും നിന്റെ ദയ ഒരിക്കലും അറ്റുപോകരുതു; യഹോവ ദാവീദിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ ഭൂതലത്തിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുംകാലത്തും അറ്റുപോകരുതു.

So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the LORD even require it at the hand of David's enemies.ഇങ്ങനെ യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തോടെ സഖ്യതചെയ്തു. ദാവീദിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു യഹോവ ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളും.

And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.യോനാഥാൻ സ്വന്തപ്രാണനെപ്പോലെ ദാവീദിനെ സ്നേഹിക്കയാൽ തന്നോടുള്ള സ്നേഹത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു പിന്നെയും സത്യംചെയ്യിച്ചു.

Then Jonathan said to David, Tomorrow is the new moon: and you shall be missed, because your seat will be empty.പിന്നെ യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നാളെ അമാവാസ്യയാകുന്നുവല്ലോ; നിന്റെ ഇരിപ്പിടം ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ നീ ഇല്ലെന്നു കാണും.

And when you have stayed three days, then you shall go down quickly, and come to the place where you did hide yourself when the business was in hand, and shall remain by the stone Ezel.മൂന്നു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു കാര്യം നടന്ന അന്നു നീ ഒളിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വേഗത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു ഏസെൽകല്ലിന്റെ അരികെ താമസിക്കേണം.

And I will shoot three arrows on the side thereof, as though I shot at a mark.അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അതിന്റെ ഒരുവശത്തു ഒരു ലാക്കിന്നു എയ്യുന്നഭാവത്തിൽ മൂന്നു അമ്പു എയ്യും.

And, behold, I will send a lad, saying, Go, find out the arrows. If I expressly say unto the lad, Behold, the arrows are on this side of you, take them; then come you: for there is peace to you, and no hurt; as the LORD lives.നീ ചെന്നു അമ്പു നോക്കി എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരനെ അയക്കും. അമ്പുകൾ നിന്റെ ഇപ്പുറത്തു ഇതാ, എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു വരിക എന്നു ഞാൻ ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു പറഞ്ഞാൽ നീ അവ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു വരിക; യഹോവയാണ, നിനക്കു ശുഭമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും വരികയില്ല.

But if I say thus unto the young man, Behold, the arrows are beyond you; go your way: for the LORD has sent you away.എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: അമ്പു നിന്റെ അപ്പുറത്തു അതാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ നിന്റെ വഴിക്കു പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക; യഹോവ നിന്നെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

And as concerning the matter which you and I have spoken of, behold, the LORD be between you and me for ever.ഞാനും നീയും തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യത്തിലോ, യഹോവ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ എന്നേക്കും സാക്ഷി.

So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat food.ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് വയലിൽ ഒളിച്ചു; അമാവാസ്യയായപ്പോൾ രാജാവു പന്തിഭോജനത്തിന്നു ഇരുന്നു.

And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon a seat by the wall: and Jonathan arose, and Abner sat by Saul's side, and David's place was empty.രാജാവു പതിവുപോലെ ചുവരിന്നരികെയുള്ള തന്റെ ആസനത്തിന്മേൽ ഇരുന്നു; യോനാഥാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു. അബ്നേർ ശൌലിന്റെ അരികെ ഇരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്ഥലമോ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകിടന്നു.

Nevertheless Saul spoke not any thing that day: for he thought, Something has befallen him, he is not clean; surely he is not clean.അന്നു ശൌൽ ഒന്നും പറഞ്ഞില്ല; അവന്നു എന്തോ ഭവിച്ചു അവന്നു ശുദ്ധിയില്ലായിരിക്കും; അതേ, അവന്നു ശുദ്ധിയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

And it came to pass on the next day, which was the second day of the month, that David's place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore comes not the son of Jesse to food, neither yesterday, nor to day?അമാവാസ്യയുടെ പിറ്റെന്നാളും ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്ഥലം ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകിടന്നു; ശൌൽ തന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാനോടു: യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകൻ ഇന്നലെയും ഇന്നും പന്തിഭോജനത്തിന്നു വരാതിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Jonathan answered Saul, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem:യോനാഥാൻ ശൌലിനോടു: ദാവീദ് ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ പോകുവാൻ എന്നോടു താല്പര്യമായി അനുവാദം ചോദിച്ചു:

And he said, Let me go, I pray you; for our family has a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he has commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in yours eyes, let me get away, I pray you, and see my brethren. Therefore he comes not unto the king's table.ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുലത്തിന്നു പട്ടണത്തിൽ ഒരു യാഗമുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വിട്ടയക്കേണമേ; എന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠൻ തന്നേ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ നിനക്കു എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ ചെന്നുകാണ്മാൻ അനുവദിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ പന്തിഭോജനത്തിന്നു വരാതിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, You son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to yours own confusion, and unto the confusion of your mother's nakedness?അപ്പോൾ ശൌലിന്റെ കോപം യോനാഥാന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവൻ അവനോടു: വക്രതയും ദുശ്ശാഠ്യവും ഉള്ളവളുടെ മകനേ, നിന്റെ സ്വന്തലജ്ജെക്കും നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ നഗ്നതയുടെ ലജ്ജെക്കുമായി നീ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകനോടു കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എനിക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടയോ?

For as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the ground, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little lad with him.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ രാവിലെ, ദാവീദുമായി നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന സമയത്തു, യോനാഥാൻ ഒരു ചെറിയ ബാല്യക്കാരനോടുകൂടെ വയലിലേക്കു പോയി.

And he said unto his lad, Run, find out now the arrows which I shoot. And as the lad ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.അവൻ തന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: ഓടിച്ചെന്നു ഞാൻ എയ്യുന്ന അമ്പു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുവാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ബാല്യക്കാരൻ ഓടുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ അപ്പുറത്തേക്കു ഒരു അമ്പു എയ്തു.

And when the lad was come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried after the lad, and said, Is not the arrow beyond you?യോനാഥാൻ എയ്ത അമ്പു വീണേടത്തു ബാല്യക്കാരൻ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ യോനാഥാൻ ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: അമ്പു നിന്റെ അപ്പുറത്തല്ലയോ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jonathan cried after the lad, Make speed, haste, stay not. And Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows, and came to his master.പിന്നെയും യോനാഥാൻ ബാല്യക്കാരനോടു: ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഓടിവരിക, നിൽക്കരുതു എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു. യോനാഥാന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരൻ അമ്പുകളെ പെറുക്കി യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

But the lad knew not any thing: only Jonathan and David knew the matter.എന്നാൽ യോനാഥാനും ദാവീദും അല്ലാതെ ബാല്യക്കാരൻ കാര്യം ഒന്നും അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

And Jonathan gave his artillery unto his lad, and said unto him, Go, carry them to the city.പിന്നെ യോനാഥാൻ തന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്റെ പക്കൽ കൊടുത്തു: പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.ബാല്യക്കാരൻ പോയ ഉടനെ ദാവീദ് തെക്കുവശത്തുനിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റുവന്നു മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു; അവർ തമ്മിൽ ചുംബനംചെയ്തു കരഞ്ഞു; ദാവീദോ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ കരഞ്ഞുപോയി.

And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and you, and between my seed and your seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു: യഹോവ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും എന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ എന്നേക്കും സാക്ഷി എന്നിങ്ങനെ നാം ഇരുവരും യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പോയി; യോനാഥാനോ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പോന്നു.
