When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,യേശു യോഹന്നാനെക്കാൾ അധികം ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ചേർത്തു സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പരീശന്മാർ കേട്ടു എന്നു കർത്താവു അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ —

(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അല്ലാതെ, യേശു തന്നേ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചില്ലതാനും —

He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.അവൻ യെഹൂദ്യദേശം വിട്ടു പിന്നെയും ഗലീലെക്കു യാത്രയായി.

And he must essentially go through Samaria.അവൻ ശമര്യയിൽകൂടി കടന്നുപോകേണ്ടിവന്നു.

Then comes he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ സുഖാർ എന്നൊരു ശമര്യപട്ടണത്തിൽ യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പുത്രനായയോസേഫിന്നു കൊടുത്ത നിലത്തിന്നരികെ എത്തി.

Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.അവിടെ യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഉറവുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യേശു വഴി നടന്നു ക്ഷീണിച്ചിട്ടു ഉറവിന്നരികെ ഇരുന്നു; അപ്പോൾ ഏകദേശം ആറാം മണിനേരം ആയിരുന്നു.

There comes a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus says unto her, Give me to drink.ഒരു ശമര്യസ്ത്രീ വെള്ളം കോരുവാൻ വന്നു; യേശു അവളോടു: “എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ തരുമോ ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy food.)അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഭക്ഷണസാധനങ്ങളെ കൊള്ളുവാൻ പട്ടണത്തിൽ പോയിരുന്നു.

Then says the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that you, being a Jew, ask drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.ശമര്യസ്ത്രീ അവനോടു: നീ യെഹൂദൻ ആയിരിക്കെ ശമര്യക്കാരത്തിയായ എന്നോടു കുടിപ്പാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യെഹൂദന്മാർക്കും ശമര്യർക്കും തമ്മിൽ സമ്പർക്കമില്ല —

Jesus answered and said unto her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give me to drink; you would have asked of him, and he would have given you living water.അതിന്നു യേശു: “നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാനവും നിന്നോടു കുടിപ്പാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നവൻ ആരെന്നും അറിഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ നീ അവനോടു ചോദിക്കയും അവൻ ജീവനുള്ള വെള്ളം നിനക്കു തരികയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

The woman says unto him, Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then have you that living water?സ്ത്രീ അവനോടു: യജമാനനേ, നിനക്കു കോരുവാൻ പാത്രം ഇല്ലല്ലോ; കിണറു ആഴമുള്ളതാകുന്നു; പിന്നെ ജീവനുള്ള വെള്ളം നിനക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു?

Are you greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ യാക്കോബിനെക്കാൾ നീ വലിയവനോ? അവൻ ആകുന്നു ഈ കിണറു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നതു; അവനും അവന്റെ മക്കളും മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇതിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചു പോന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again:യേശു അവളോടു: “ഈ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്നവന്നു എല്ലാം പിന്നെയും ദാഹിക്കും.

But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്ന വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്നവന്നോ ഒരുനാളും ദാഹിക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്ന വെള്ളം അവനിൽ നിത്യജീവങ്കലേക്കു പൊങ്ങിവരുന്ന നീരുറവായിത്തീരും” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

The woman says unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come here to draw.സ്ത്രീ അവനാടു: യജമാനനേ, എനിക്കു ദാഹിക്കാതെയും ഞാൻ കോരുവാൻ ഇവിടത്തോളം വരാതെയുമിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആ വെള്ളം എനിക്കു തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto her, Go, call your husband, and come here.യേശു അവളോടു: “പോയി ഭർത്താവിനെ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരിക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, You have well said, I have no husband:എനിക്കു ഭർത്താവു ഇല്ല എന്നു സ്ത്രീ അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: “എനിക്കു ഭർത്താവു ഇല്ല എന്നു നീ പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി.

For you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband: in that said you truly.അഞ്ചു ഭർത്താക്കന്മാർ നിനക്കു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോൾ ഉള്ളവനോ ഭർത്താവല്ല; നീ പറഞ്ഞതു സത്യം തന്നേ” എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു.

The woman says unto him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.സ്ത്രീ അവനോടു: യജമാനനേ, നീ പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു.

Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and all of you say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഈ മലയിൽ നമസ്കരിച്ചുവന്നു; നമസ്കരിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന സ്ഥലം യെരൂശലേമിൽ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when all of you shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.യേശു അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “സ്ത്രീയേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു വിശ്വസിക്ക; നിങ്ങൾ പിതാവിനെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നതു ഈ മലയിലും അല്ല യെരൂശലേമിലും അല്ല എന്നുള്ള നാഴിക വരുന്നു.

All of you worship all of you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാത്തതിനെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളോ അറിയുന്നതിനെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു; രക്ഷ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നല്ലോ വരുന്നതു.

But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him.സത്യനമസ്കാരികൾ പിതാവിനെ ആത്മാവിലും സത്യത്തിലും നമസ്കരിക്കുന്ന നാഴിക വരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോൾ വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു. തന്നേ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവർ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർ ആയിരിക്കേണം എന്നു പിതാവു ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.ദൈവം ആത്മാവു ആകുന്നു; അവനെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവർ ആത്മാവിലും സത്യത്തിലും നമസ്കരിക്കേണം.

The woman says unto him, I know that Messiah comes, which is called Christ: when he has come, he will tell us all things.സ്ത്രീ അവനോടു: മശീഹ — എന്നുവെച്ചാൽ ക്രിസ്തു — വരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; അവൻ വരുമ്പോൾ സകലവും അറിയിച്ചുതരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto her, I that speak unto you am he.യേശു അവളോടു: “നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ഞാൻ തന്നേ മശീഹ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seek you? or, Why talk you with her?ഇതിന്നിടയിൽ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ വന്നു അവൻ സ്ത്രീയോടു സംസാരിക്കയാൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു എങ്കിലും: നീ എന്തു ചോദിക്കുന്നു? അവളോടു എന്തു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ആരും ചോദിച്ചില്ല.

The woman then left her water pot, and went her way into the city, and says to the men,അനന്തരം സ്ത്രീ പാത്രം വെച്ചിട്ടു പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു ജനങ്ങളോടു:

Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?ഞാൻ ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ വന്നുകാണ്മിൻ; അവൻ പക്ഷേ ക്രിസ്തു ആയിരിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.അവർ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.അതിന്നിടയിൽ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു: റബ്ബീ, ഭക്ഷിച്ചാലും എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

But he said unto them, I have food to eat that all of you know not of.അതിന്നു അവൻ: “നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാത്ത ആഹാരം ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടു” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Therefore said the disciples one to another, Has any man brought him ought to eat?ആകയാൽ വല്ലവനും അവന്നു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ കൊണ്ടുവന്നുവോ എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto them, My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്തു അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി തികെക്കുന്നതു തന്നെ എന്റെ ആഹാരം.

Say not all of you, There are yet four months, and then comes harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.ഇനി നാലു മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു കൊയ്ത്തു വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങൾ തല പൊക്കി നോക്കിയാൽ നിലങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ കൊയ്ത്തിന്നു വെളുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണും” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

³⁶

And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal: that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together.“വിതെക്കുന്നവനും കൊയ്യുന്നവനും ഒരുമിച്ചു സന്തോഷിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം കൊയ്യുന്നവൻ കൂലി വാങ്ങി നിത്യജീവങ്കലേക്കു വിളവു കൂട്ടിവെക്കുന്നു.

And herein is that saying true, One sows, and another reaps.വിതെക്കുന്നതു ഒരുത്തൻ, കൊയ്യുന്നതു മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ എന്നുള്ള പഴഞ്ചൊൽ ഇതിൽ ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

I sent you to reap that whereon all of you bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and all of you are entered into their labours.നിങ്ങൾ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തതു കൊയ്‍വാൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മറ്റുള്ളവർ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചു; അവരുടെ അദ്ധ്വാനഫലത്തിലേക്കു നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.ഞാൻ ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും അവൻ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു സ്ത്രീ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു നിമിത്തം ആ പട്ടണത്തിലെ പല ശമര്യരും അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.അങ്ങനെ ശമര്യർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു തങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ പാർക്കേണം എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അവൻ രണ്ടുനാൾ അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

And many more believed because of his own word;ഏറ്റവും അധികംപേർ അവന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു വിശ്വസിച്ചു:

And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of your saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.ഇനി നിന്റെ വാക്കുകൊണ്ടല്ല ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതു; ഞങ്ങൾ തന്നേ കേൾക്കയും അവൻ സാക്ഷാൽ ലോകരക്ഷിതാവു എന്നു അറികയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്ത്രീയോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.രണ്ടു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ അവിടം വിട്ടു ഗലീലെക്കു പോയി.

For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet has no honour in his own country.പ്രവാചകന്നു തന്റെ പിതൃദേശത്തു ബഹുമാനം ഇല്ല എന്നു യേശു തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.അവൻ ഗലീലയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഗലീലക്കാർ തങ്ങളും പെരുന്നാളിന്നു പോയി അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽവെച്ചു പെരുനാളിൽ ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അംഗീകരിച്ചു.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.അവൻ പിന്നെയും താൻ വെള്ളം വീഞ്ഞാക്കിയ ഗലീലയിലെ കാനാവിൽ വന്നു. അന്നു മകൻ രോഗിയായിരുന്നോരു രാജഭൃത്യൻ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.യേശു യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഗലീലയിൽ വന്നു എന്നു അവൻ കേട്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു, തന്റെ മകൻ മരിപ്പാറായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവൻ വന്നു അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

Then said Jesus unto him, Except all of you see signs and wonders, all of you will not believe.യേശു അവനോടു: “നിങ്ങൾ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും കണ്ടിട്ടല്ലാതെ വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

The nobleman says unto him, Sir, come down before my child die.രാജഭൃത്യൻ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, പൈതൽ മരിക്കുംമുമ്പേ വരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto him, Go your way; your son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.യേശു അവനോടു: “പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക; നിന്റെ മകൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു വിശ്വസിച്ചു ആ മനുഷ്യൻ പോയി.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Your son lives.അവൻ പോകയിൽ അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു മകൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.അവന്നു ഭേദം വന്ന നാഴിക അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവർ അവനോടു: ഇന്നലെ ഏഴുമണിക്കു പനി വിട്ടുമാറി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Your son lives: and himself believed, and his whole house.ആകയാൽ നിന്റെ മകൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ എന്നു അപ്പൻ ഗ്രഹിച്ചു താനും കുടുംബം ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.യേശു യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ നിന്നു ഗലീലയിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ ഇതു രണ്ടാമത്തെ അടയാളമായിട്ടു ചെയ്തു.

John 5

After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു ഉത്സവം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കുപോയി.

Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.യെരൂശലേമിൽ ആട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ ബേഥെസ്ദാ എന്നു എബ്രായപേരുള്ള ഒരു കുളം ഉണ്ടു; അതിന്നു അഞ്ചു മണ്ഡപം ഉണ്ടു.

In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.അവയിൽ വ്യാധിക്കാർ, കുരുടർ, മുടന്തർ, ക്ഷയരോഗികൾ ഇങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു കൂട്ടം (വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ഇളക്കം കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു) കിടന്നിരുന്നു.

For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.(അതതു സമയത്തു ഒരു ദൂതൻ കുളത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങി വെള്ളം കലക്കും; വെള്ളം കലങ്ങിയ ശേഷം ആദ്യം ഇറങ്ങുന്നവൻ ഏതു വ്യാധിപിടിച്ചവനായിരുന്നാലും അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും)

And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.എന്നാൽ മുപ്പത്തെട്ടു ആണ്ടു രോഗം പിടിച്ചു കിടന്നോരു മനുഷ്യൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he says unto him, Will you be made whole?അവൻ കിടക്കുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടു, ഇങ്ങനെ ഏറിയ കാലമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞു: “നിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമാകുവാൻ മനസ്സുണ്ടോ ” എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steps down before me.രോഗി അവനോടു: യജമാനനേ, വെള്ളം കലങ്ങുമ്പോൾ എന്നെ കുളത്തിൽ ആക്കുവാൻ എനിക്കു ആരും ഇല്ല; ഞാൻ തന്നേ ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ഇറങ്ങുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto him, Rise, take up your bed, and walk.യേശു അവനോടു: “എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.ഉടനെ ആ മനുഷ്യൻ സൌഖ്യമായി കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടന്നു.

The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.എന്നാൽ അന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് ആയിരുന്നു. ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവനോടു: ഇന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; കിടക്ക എടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up your bed, and walk.അവൻ അവരോടു: എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയവൻ: കിടക്ക എടുത്ത നടക്ക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto you, Take up your bed, and walk?അവർ അവനോടു: കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ മനുഷ്യൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he that was healed know not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.എന്നാൽ അവിടെ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയാൽ യേശു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ആരെന്നു സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

Afterward Jesus finds him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, you are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto you.അനന്തരം യേശു അവനെ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽവെച്ചു കണ്ടു അവനോടു: “നോകൂ, നിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമായല്ലോ; അധികം തിന്മയായതു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ ഇനി പാപം ചെയ്യരുതു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.ആ മനുഷ്യൻ പോയി തന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതു യേശു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.യേശു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അതു ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു.

But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work.യേശു അവരോടു: “എന്റെ പിതാവു ഇന്നുവരെയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ശബ്ബത്തിനെ ലംഘിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവം സ്വന്തപിതാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്നെത്താൻ ദൈവത്തോടു സമമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടും യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അധികമായി ശ്രമിച്ചു പോന്നു.

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things whatsoever he does, these also does the Son likewise.ആകയാൽ യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: “ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: പിതാവു ചെയ്തു കാണുന്നതു അല്ലാതെ പുത്രന്നു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാൻ കഴികയില്ല; അവൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എല്ലാം പുത്രനും അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു.

For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that himself does: and he will show him greater works than these, that all of you may marvel.പിതാവു പുത്രനെ സ്നേഹിക്കയും താൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുമാറു ഇവയിൽ വലിയ പ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

For as the Father raises up the dead, and replenishes life to them; even so the Son gives life to whom he will.പിതാവു മരിച്ചവരെ ഉണർത്തി ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനും താൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവരെ ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son:എല്ലാവരും പിതാവിനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പിതാവു ആരെയും ന്യായം വിധിക്കാതെ ന്യായവിധി എല്ലാം പുത്രന്നുകൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which has sent him.പുത്രനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കാത്തവൻ അവനെ അയച്ച പിതാവിനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നില്ല.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ ന്യായവിധിയിൽ ആകാതെ മരണത്തിൽ നിന്നു ജീവങ്കലേക്കു കടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: മരിച്ചവർ ദൈവപുത്രന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കയും കേൾക്കുന്നവർ ജീവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാഴികവരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോൾ വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the Son to have life in himself;പിതാവിന്നു തന്നിൽതന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളതുപോലെ അവൻ പുത്രന്നും തന്നിൽതന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളവൻ ആകുമാറു വരം നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

And has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.അവൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ആകയാൽ ന്യായവിധിനടത്തുവാൻ അവന്നു അധികാരവും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,ഇതിങ്കൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടരുതു; കല്ലറകളിൽ ഉള്ളവർ എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു,

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.നന്മ ചെയ്തവർ ജീവന്നായും തിന്മ ചെയ്തവർ ന്യായവിധിക്കായും പുനരുത്ഥാനം ചെയ്‍വാനുള്ള നാഴിക വരുന്നു.

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.എനിക്കു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം അല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ വിധി നീതിയുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു.

If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞാൽ എന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യമല്ല.

There is another that bears witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesses of me is true.എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ ആകുന്നു; അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യം എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

All of you sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.നിങ്ങൾ യോഹാന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു; അവൻ സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that all of you might be saved.എനിക്കോ മനുഷ്യന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യംകൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനത്രേ ഇതു പറയുന്നതു.

He was a burning and a shining light: and all of you were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.അവൻ ജ്വലിച്ചു പ്രകാശിക്കുന്ന വിളക്കു ആയിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അല്പസമയത്തേക്കു അവന്റെ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ ഉല്ലസിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me.എനിക്കോ യോഹന്നാന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിലും വലിയ സാക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ടു; പിതാവു എനിക്കു അനുഷ്ഠിപ്പാൻ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ തന്നേ, പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു.

And the Father himself, which has sent me, has borne witness of me. All of you have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവുതാനും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഒരുനാളും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല, അവന്റെ രൂപം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല;

And all of you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him all of you believe not.അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ വസിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല അവൻ അയച്ചവനെ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

Search the scriptures; for in them all of you think all of you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.നിങ്ങൾ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു; അവയിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

And all of you will not come to me, that all of you might have life.എങ്കിലും ജീവൻ പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

I receive not honour from men.ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരോടു ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങുന്നില്ല.

But I know you, that all of you have not the love of God in you.എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉള്ളിൽ ദൈവസ്നേഹം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

I am come in my Father's name, and all of you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him all of you will receive.ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ല; മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ സ്വന്തനാമത്തിൽ വന്നാൽ അവനെ നിങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളും.

How can all of you believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that comes from God only?തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടു ഏകദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നുള്ള ബഹുമാനം അന്വേഷിക്കാത്ത നിങ്ങൾക്കു എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിപ്പാൻ കഴിയും?

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuses you, even Moses, in whom all of you trust.ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തും എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നരുതു. നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നവൻ ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യാശ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മോശെ തന്നേ.

For had all of you believed Moses, all of you would have believed me; for he wrote of me.നിങ്ങൾ മോശെയെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ എന്നെയും വിശ്വസിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

But if all of you believe not his writings, how shall all of you believe my words?എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ എഴുത്തു നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ എന്റെ വാക്കു എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കും

John 6

After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.അനന്തരം യേശു തിബെര്യാസ് എന്ന ഗലീലക്കടലിന്റെ അക്കരെക്കു പോയി.

And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.അവൻ രോഗികളിൽ ചെയ്യുന്ന അടയാളങ്ങളെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഒരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു.

And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.യേശു മലയിൽ കയറി ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു.

And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പെസഹ പെരുന്നാൾ അടുത്തിരുന്നു.

When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he says unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?യേശു വലിയൊരു പുരുഷാരം തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടു: “ഇവർക്കു തിന്നുവാൻ നാം എവിടെ നിന്നു അപ്പം വാങ്ങും” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.ഇതു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിപ്പാനത്രേ ചോദിച്ചതു; താൻ എന്തു ചെയ്‍വാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു താൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് അവനോടു: ഓരോരുത്തന്നു അല്പമല്പം ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇരുനൂറു പണത്തിന്നു അപ്പം മതിയാകയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, says unto him,ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനായി ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് അവനോടു:

There is a lad here, which has five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?ഇവിടെ ഒരു ബാലകൻ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പക്കൽ അഞ്ചു യവത്തപ്പവും രണ്ടു മീനും ഉണ്ടു; എങ്കിലും ഇത്രപേർക്കു അതു എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.“ആളുകളെ ഇരുത്തുവിൻ ” എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു. ആ സ്ഥലത്തു വളരെ പുല്ലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അയ്യായിരത്തോളം പുരുഷന്മാർ ഇരുന്നു.

And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.പിന്നെ യേശു അപ്പം എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി, ഇരുന്നവർക്കു പങ്കിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു; അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മീനും വേണ്ടുന്നേടത്തോളം കൊടുത്തു.

When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.അവർക്കു തൃപ്തിയായശേഷം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: “ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം ഒന്നും നഷ്ടമാക്കാതെ ശേഖരിപ്പിൻ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.അഞ്ചു യവത്തപ്പത്തിൽ തിന്നു ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം അവർ ശേഖരിച്ചു പന്ത്രണ്ടു കൊട്ട നിറച്ചെടുത്തു.

Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is truthfully that prophet that should come into the world.അവൻ ചെയ്ത അടയാളം ആളുകൾ കണ്ടിട്ടു: ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വരുവാനുള്ള പ്രവാചകൻ ഇവൻ ആകുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.അവർ വന്നു തന്നെ പിടിച്ചു രാജാവാക്കുവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പിന്നെയും തനിച്ചു മലയിലേക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കടല്പുറത്തേക്കു ഇറങ്ങി

And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.പടകുകയറി കടലക്കരെ കഫർന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി; ഇരുട്ടായശേഷവും യേശു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരുന്നില്ല.

And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു അടിക്കയാൽ കടൽ കോപിച്ചു.

So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.അവർ നാലു അഞ്ചു നാഴിക ദൂരത്തോളം വലിച്ചശേഷം യേശു കടലിന്മേൽ നടന്നു പടകിനോടു സമീപിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു പേടിച്ചു.

But he says unto them, It is I; be not afraid.അവൻ അവരോടു: “ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു; പേടിക്കേണ്ടാ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land where they went.അവർ അവനെ പടകിൽ കയറ്റുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചു; ഉടനെ പടകു അവർ പോകുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിപ്പോയി.

The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, save that one into where his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;പിറ്റെന്നാൾ കടൽക്കരെ നിന്ന പുരുഷാരം ഒരു പടകല്ലാതെ അവിടെ വേറെ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നും, യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പടകിൽ കയറാതെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ മാത്രം പോയിരുന്നു എന്നും ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

(nevertheless there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)എന്നാൽ കർത്താവു വാഴ്ത്തീട്ടു അവർ അപ്പം തിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിന്നരികെ തിബെര്യാസിൽനിന്നു ചെറുപടകുകൾ എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also went on board ships, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.യേശു അവിടെ ഇല്ല ശിഷ്യന്മാരും ഇല്ല എന്നു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ തങ്ങളും പടകു കയറി യേശുവിനെ തിരഞ്ഞു കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ എത്തി.

And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when came you here?കടലക്കരെ അവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയപ്പോൾ: റബ്ബീ, നീ എപ്പോൾ ഇവിടെ വന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നുയേശു

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, All of you seek me, not because all of you saw the miracles, but because all of you did eat of the loaves, and were filled.“ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ അടയാളം കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടല്ല, അപ്പം തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു.

Labour not for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him has God the Father sealed.നശിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല, നിത്യജീവങ്കലേക്കു നിലനില്ക്കുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ പ്രവർത്തിപ്പിൻ; അതു മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരും. അവനെ പിതാവായ ദൈവം മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?അവർ അവനോടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തികളെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that all of you believe on him whom he has sent.യേശു അവരോടു: “ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തി അവൻ അയച്ചവനിൽ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതത്രേ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

They said therefore unto him, What sign show you then, that we may see, and believe you? what do you work?അവർ അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടു നിന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്തു അടയാളം ചെയ്യുന്നു? എന്തു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു?

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മന്നാ തിന്നു; അവർക്കു തിന്നുവാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.യേശു അവരോടു: “ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള അപ്പം മോശെയല്ല നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നതു, എന്റെ പിതാവത്രേ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള സാക്ഷാൽ അപ്പം നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരുന്നതു.

For the bread of God is he which comes down from heaven, and gives life unto the world.ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അപ്പമോ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു ലോകത്തിന്നു ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു ആകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.അവർ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, ഈ അപ്പം എപ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst.യേശു അവരോടുപറഞ്ഞതു: “ഞാൻ ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവന്നു വിശക്കയില്ല; എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഒരു നാളും ദാഹിക്കയുമില്ല.

But I said unto you, That all of you also have seen me, and believe not.എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കണ്ടിട്ടും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out.പിതാവു എനിക്കു തരുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും; എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവനെ ഞാൻ ഒരുനാളും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ല.

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്‍വാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

³⁹

And this is the Father's will which has sent me, that of all which he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.അവൻ എനിക്കു തന്നതിൽ ഒന്നും ഞാൻ കളയാതെ എല്ലാം ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണം എന്നാകുന്നു എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.പുത്രനെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടാകേണമെന്നാകുന്നു എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം; ഞാൻ അവനെ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.

The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതിനാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പിറുപിറുത്തു:

And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he says, I came down from heaven?ഇവൻ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു അല്ലയോ? അവന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; പിന്നെ ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: “നിങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ പിറുപിറുക്കേണ്ടാ;

No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവു ആകർഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാതെ ആർക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ കഴികയില്ല; ഞാൻ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ അവനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that has heard, and has learned of the Father, comes unto me.എല്ലാവരും ദൈവത്താൽ ഉപദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ ആകും എന്നു പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു. പിതാവിനോടു കേട്ടുപഠിച്ചവൻ എല്ലാം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും.

Not that any man has seen the Father, save he which is of God, he has seen the Father.പിതാവിനെ ആരെങ്കിലും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു വന്നവൻ മാത്രമേ പിതാവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me has everlasting life.ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു.

I am that bread of life.ഞാൻ ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.

⁴⁹

Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മന്നാ തിന്നിട്ടും മരിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

⁵⁰

This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.ഇതോ തിന്നുന്നവൻ മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുന്ന അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിയ ജീവനുള്ള അപ്പം ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും; ഞാൻ കൊടുപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന അപ്പമോ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്ന എന്റെ മാംസം ആകുന്നു.

The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ: നമുക്കു തന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നേണ്ടതിന്നു തരുവാൻ ഇവന്നു എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തമ്മിൽ വാദിച്ചു.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except all of you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, all of you have no life in you.യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നാതെയും അവന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉള്ളിൽ ജീവൻ ഇല്ല.

Whoso eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാൻ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിൽ അവനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.

For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.എന്റെ മാംസം സാക്ഷാൽ ഭക്ഷണവും എന്റെ രക്തം സാക്ഷാൽ പാനീയവും ആകുന്നു.

He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I in him.എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ എന്നിലും ഞാൻ അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു.

As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eats me, even he shall live by me.ജീവനുള്ള പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടു ഞാൻ പിതാവിൻമൂലം ജീവിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെ തിന്നുന്നവൻ എൻമൂലം ജീവിക്കും.

This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eats of this bread shall live for ever.സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം ഇതു ആകുന്നു; പിതാക്കന്മാർ തിന്നുകയും മരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അല്ല; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവൻ എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും.

These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.അവൻ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ പള്ളിയിൽവെച്ചു ഇതു പറഞ്ഞു.

Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ പലരും അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു: ഇതു കഠിനവാക്കു, ഇതു ആർക്കു കേൾപ്പാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Does this offend you?ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അതിനെച്ചൊല്ലി പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു യേശു തന്നിൽതന്നേ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു: “ഇതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഇടർച്ച ആകുന്നുവോ?

What and if all of you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ മുമ്പെ ഇരുന്നേടത്തേക്കു കയറിപ്പോകുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടാലോ?

It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ആത്മാവു ആകുന്നു; മാംസം ഒന്നിന്നും ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ച വചനങ്ങൾ ആത്മാവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു.

But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.എങ്കിലും വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടു ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു — വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവർ ഇന്നവർ എന്നും തന്നെ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ ഇന്നവൻ എന്നും യേശു ആദിമുതൽ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു —

And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.ഇതു ഹേതുവായിട്ടത്രേ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു: “പിതാവു കൃപ നല്കീട്ടല്ലാതെ ആർക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു” എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.അന്നുമുതൽ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ പലരും പിൻവാങ്ങിപ്പോയി, പിന്നെ അവനോടു കൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചില്ല.

Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will all of you also go away?ആകയാൽ യേശു പന്തിരുവരോടു: “നിങ്ങൾക്കും പൊയ്ക്കൊൾവാൻ മനസ്സുണ്ടോ ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words of eternal life.ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ് അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങൾ ആരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകും? നിത്യജീവന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ടു.

And we believe and are sure that you are that Christ, the Son of the living God.നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിച്ചും അറിഞ്ഞും ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?യേശു അവരോടു: “നിങ്ങളെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു പേരെ ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തില്ലയോ? എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ഒരു പിശാചു ആകുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ഇതു അവൻ ശിമോൻ ഈസ്കര്യയ്യോർത്താവിന്റെ മകനായ യൂദയെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.ഇവൻ പന്തിരുവരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ എങ്കിലും അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാനുള്ളവൻ ആയിരുന്നു.
