Genesis 21

And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.അനന്തരം യഹോവ താൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ സാറയെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു; താൻ വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തിരുന്നതു യഹോവ സാറെക്കു നിവൃത്തിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ ദൈവം അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്ന അവധിക്കു സാറാ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.സാറാ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകന്നു അവൻ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതുപോലെ അവൻ തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു എട്ടാം ദിവസം പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിച്ചു.

And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ജനിച്ചപ്പോൾ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു നൂറു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

And Sarah said, God has made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.ദൈവം എനിക്കു ചിരിയുണ്ടാക്കി; കേൾക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി ചിരിക്കും എന്നു സാറാ പറഞ്ഞു.

And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.സാറാ മക്കൾക്കു മുലകൊടുക്കുമെന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു ആർ പറയുമായിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിലല്ലോ ഞാൻ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചതു എന്നും അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.പൈതൽ വളർന്നു മുലകുടി മാറി; യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ മുലകുടി മാറിയ നാളിൽ അബ്രാഹാം ഒരു വലിയ വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചു.

And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.മിസ്രയീമ്യദാസി ഹാഗാർ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകൻ പരിഹാസി എന്നു സാറാ കണ്ടു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു:

Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.ഈ ദാസിയെയുംമകനെയും പുറത്താക്കിക്കളക; ഈ ദാസിയുടെ മകൻ എന്റെ മകൻ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു കൂടെ അവകാശിയാകരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.തന്റെ മകൻ നിമിത്തം ഈ കാര്യം അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു അനിഷ്ടമായി.

And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in your sight because of the lad, and because of your bondwoman; in all that Sarah has said unto you, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall your seed be called.എന്നാൽ ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: ബാലന്റെ നിമിത്തവും ദാസിയുടെ നിമിത്തവും നിനക്കു അനിഷ്ടം തോന്നരുതു; സാറാ നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞതിലൊക്കെയുംഅവളുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്ക; യിസ്ഹാക്കിൽനിന്നുള്ളവരല്ലോ നിന്റെ സാക്ഷാൽ സന്തതിയെന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതു.

And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is your seed.ദാസിയുടെമകനെയും ഞാൻ ഒരു ജാതിയാക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ സന്തതിയല്ലോ എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.അബ്രാഹാം അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അപ്പവും ഒരു തുരുത്തി വെള്ളവും എടുത്തു ഹാഗാരിന്റെ തോളിൽവെച്ചു, കുട്ടിയെയും കൊടുത്തു അവളെ അയച്ചു; അവൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി ബേർ-ശേബ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഉഴന്നു നടന്നു.

And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.തുരുത്തിയിലെ വെള്ളം ചെലവായശേഷം അവൾ കുട്ടിയെ ഒരു കുറുങ്കാട്ടിൻ തണലിൽ ഇട്ടു.

And she went, and sat her down opposite to him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat opposite to him, and lift up her voice, and wept.അവൾ പോയി അതിന്നെതിരെ ഒരു അമ്പിൻ പാടു ദൂരത്തു ഇരുന്നു: കുട്ടിയുടെ മരണം എനിക്കു കാണേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എതിരെ ഇരുന്നു ഉറക്കെ കരഞ്ഞു.

And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What disturbs you, Hagar? fear not; for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.ദൈവം ബാലന്റെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതൻ ആകാശത്തു നിന്നു ഹാഗാരിനെ വിളിച്ചു അവളോടു: ഹാഗാരേ, നിനക്കു എന്തു? നീ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ബാലൻ ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തുനിന്നു അവന്റെ നിലവിളികേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in yours hand; for I will make him a great nation.നീ ചെന്നു ബാലനെ താങ്ങി എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചുകൊൾക; ഞാൻ അവനെ ഒരു വലിയ ജാതിയാക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.ദൈവം അവളുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു; അവൾ ഒരു നീരുറവു കണ്ടു, ചെന്നു തുരുത്തിയിൽ വെള്ളം നിറച്ചു ബാലനെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു.

And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.ദൈവം ബാലനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ പാർത്തു, മുതിർന്നപ്പോൾ ഒരു വില്ലാളിയായി തീർന്നു.

And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.അവൻ പാരാൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ പാർത്തു; അവന്റെ അമ്മ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവന്നു ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spoke unto Abraham, saying, God is with you in all that you do:അക്കാലത്തു അബിമേലെക്കും അവന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ പീക്കോലും അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: നിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും ദൈവം നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുണ്ടു;

Now therefore swear unto me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto you, you shall do unto me, and to the land wherein you have sojourned.ആകയാൽ നീ എന്നോടോ എന്റെ സന്തതിയോടോ എന്റെ കുലത്തോടോ വ്യാജം പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാതെ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ദയ കാണിച്ചതുപോലെ നീ എന്നോടും നീ പാർത്തുവരുന്ന ദേശത്തോടും ദയകാണിക്കുമെന്നു ദൈവത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി ഇവിടെവെച്ചു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abraham said, I will swear.സത്യം ചെയ്യാം എന്നു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.എന്നാൽ അബീമേലെക്കിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ അപഹരിച്ച കിണർനിമിത്തം അബ്രാഹാം അബീമേലെക്കിനോടു ഭത്സിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

And Abimelech said, I know not who has done this thing; neither did you tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.അതിന്നു അബീമേലെക്; ഇക്കാര്യം ചെയ്തതു ആരെന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല; നീ എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; ഇന്നല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിട്ടുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.പിന്നെ അബ്രാഹാം അബീമേലെക്കിന്നു ആടുമാടുകളെ കൊടുത്തു; അവർ ഇരുവരും തമ്മിൽ ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു.

And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.അബ്രാഹാം ഏഴു പെണ്ണാട്ടുകുട്ടികളെ വേറിട്ടു നിർത്തി.

²⁹

And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves?അപ്പോൾ അബീമേലെക്ക് അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: നീ വേറിട്ടു നിർത്തിയ ഈ ഏഴു പെണ്ണാട്ടുകുട്ടികൾ എന്തിന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shall you take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have dug this well.ഞാൻ ഈ കിണർ കുഴിച്ചു എന്നതിന്നു സാക്ഷിയായി നീ ഈ ഏഴു പെണ്ണാട്ടുകുട്ടികളെ എന്നോടു വാങ്ങേണം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they swore both of them.അവർ ഇരുവരും അവിടെവെച്ചു സത്യം ചെയ്ക കൊണ്ടു അവൻ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ബേർ-ശേബ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ ബേർ-ശേബയിൽവെച്ചു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു. അബീമേലെക്കും അവന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ പീക്കോലും എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.അബ്രാഹാം ബേർ-ശേബയിൽ ഒരു പിചുലവൃക്ഷം നട്ടു, നിത്യദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ അവിടെവെച്ചു ആരാധന കഴിച്ചു.

And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.അബ്രാഹാം കുറേക്കാലം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു പാർത്തു.

Genesis 22

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചതു എങ്ങനെയെന്നാൽ: അബ്രാഹാമേ, എന്നു വിളിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞാൻ ഇതാ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Take now your son, yours only son Isaac, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: നിന്റെ മകനെ, നീ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ഏകജാതനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ തന്നേ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു മോരിയാദേശത്തു ചെന്നു, അവിടെ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മലയിൽ അവനെ ഹോമയാഗം കഴിക്ക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.അബ്രാഹാം അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു കഴുതെക്കു കോപ്പിട്ടു കെട്ടി ബാല്യക്കാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെയും തന്റെ മകൻ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെയും കൂട്ടി ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു വിറകു കീറി എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു, ദൈവം തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു പോയി.

Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.മൂന്നാം ദിവസം അബ്രാഹാം നോക്കി ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു ആ സ്ഥലം കണ്ടു.

And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide all of you here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.അബ്രാഹാം ബാല്യക്കാരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ കഴുതയുമായി ഇവിടെ ഇരിപ്പിൻ; ഞാനും ബാലനും അവിടത്തോളം ചെന്നു ആരാധന കഴിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.അബ്രാഹാം ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള വിറകു എടുത്തു തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ചുമലിൽ വെച്ചു; തീയും കത്തിയും താൻ എടുത്തു; ഇരുവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു നടന്നു.

And Isaac spoke unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?അപ്പോൾ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: അപ്പാ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവൻ: എന്താകുന്നു മകനേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. തീയും വിറകുമുണ്ടു; എന്നാൽ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടി എവിടെ എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.

And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.ദൈവം തനിക്കു ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു ഒരു ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടിയെ നോക്കിക്കൊള്ളും, മകനേ, എന്നു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ഇരുവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു നടന്നു.

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു അവർ എത്തി; അബ്രാഹാം ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു, വിറകു അടുക്കി, തന്റെ മകൻ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ കെട്ടി യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ വിറകിന്മീതെ കിടത്തി.

And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.പിന്നെ അബ്രാഹാം കൈ നീട്ടി തന്റെ മകനെ അറുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു കത്തി എടുത്തു.

And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.ഉടനെ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു: അബ്രാഹാമേ, അബ്രാഹാമേ, എന്നു വിളിച്ചു; ഞാൻ ഇതാ, എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Lay not yours hand upon the lad, neither do you any thing unto him: for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, yours only son from me.ബാലന്റെ മേൽ കൈവെക്കരുതു; അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചെയ്യരുതു; നിന്റെ ഏകജാതനായ മകനെ തരുവാൻ നീ മടിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു നീ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the position of his son.അബ്രാഹാം തലപൊക്കി നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ പിമ്പുറത്തു ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ കൊമ്പു കാട്ടിൽ പിടിപെട്ടു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അബ്രാഹാം ചെന്നു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെ പിടിച്ചു തന്റെ മകന്നു പകരം ഹോമയാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.അബ്രാഹാം ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു യഹോവ-യിരേ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. യഹോവയുടെ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ അവൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകും എന്നു ഇന്നുവരെയും പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു.

And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ രണ്ടാമതും ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു വിളിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

And said, By myself have I sworn, says the LORD, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, yours only son:നീ ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്തു, നിന്റെ ഏകജാതനായ മകനെ തരുവാൻ മടിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു

¹⁷

That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഐശ്വര്യമായി അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും; നിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾപോലെയും കടൽക്കരയിലെ മണൽപോലെയും അത്യന്തം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും; നിന്റെ സന്തതി ശത്രുക്കളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളെ കൈവശമാക്കും.

And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.നീ എന്റെ വാക്കു അനുസരിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ സന്തതി മുഖാന്തരം ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സകലജാതികളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.പിന്നെ അബ്രാഹാം ബാല്യക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നു; അവർ ഒന്നിച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബേർ--ശേബയിലേക്കു പോന്നു; അബ്രാഹാം ബേർ-ശേബയിൽ പാർത്തു.

And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also born children unto your brother Nahor;അനന്തരം മിൽക്കയും നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ നാഹോരിന്നു മക്കളെ പ്രസവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു വർത്തമാനം കിട്ടി.

Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,അവർ ആരെന്നാൽ: ആദ്യജാതൻ ഊസ്, അവന്റെ അനുജൻ ബൂസ്, അരാമിന്റെ പിതാവായ കെമൂവേൽ,

And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.കേശെദ്, ഹസോ, പിൽദാശ്, യിദലാഫ്, ബെഥൂവേൽ.

And Bethuel brings forth Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.ബെഥൂവേൽ റിബെക്കയെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഈ എട്ടു പേരെ മിൽക്കാ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ നാഹോരിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ചു.

And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.അവന്റെ വെപ്പാട്ടി രെയൂമാ എന്നവളും തേബഹ്, ഗഹാം, തഹശ്, മാഖാ എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

Genesis 23

And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.സാറെക്കു നൂറ്റിരുപത്തേഴു വയസ്സു ആയിരുന്നു: ഇതു സാറയുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം.

And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.സാറാ കനാൻ ദേശത്തു ഹെബ്രോൻ എന്ന കിർയ്യത്തർബ്ബയിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു; അബ്രാഹാം സാറയെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിച്ചു കരവാൻ വന്നു.

And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spoke unto the sons of Heth, saying,പിന്നെ അബ്രാഹാം മരിച്ചവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഹിത്യരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:

I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പരദേശിയും വന്നു പാർക്കുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ മരിച്ചവളെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി അടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു ശ്മശാനഭൂമി അവകാശമായി തരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,ഹിത്യർ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: യജമാനനേ, കേട്ടാലും:

Hear us, my lord: you are a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchers bury your dead; none of us shall withhold from you his tomb, but that you may bury your dead.നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രഭുവാകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശ്മശാനസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽവെച്ചു വിശേഷമായതിൽ മരിച്ചവളെ അടക്കിക്കൊൾക; മരിച്ചവളെ അടക്കുവാൻ ഞങ്ങളിൽ ആരും ശ്മശാനസ്ഥലം നിനക്കു തരാതിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.അപ്പോൾ അബ്രാഹാം എഴുന്നേറ്റു ആ ദേശക്കാരായ ഹിത്യരെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:

And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and implore for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,എന്റെ മരിച്ചവളെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി അടക്കുവാൻ സമ്മതമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി സോഹരിന്റെ മകനായ എഫ്രോനോടു,

And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,എന്നാൽ എഫ്രോൻ ഹിത്യരുടെ നടുവിൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു; ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോൻ തന്റെ നഗരവാസികളായ ഹിത്യർ എല്ലാവരും കേൾക്കെ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു:

Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I you, and the cave that is therein, I give it you; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it you: bury your dead.അങ്ങനെയല്ല, യജമാനനേ, കേൾക്കേണമേ; നിലം ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; അതിലെ ഗുഹയും നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്വജനം കാൺകെ തരുന്നു; മരിച്ചവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടാലും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.അപ്പോൾ അബ്രാഹാം ദേശത്തിലെ ജനത്തെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

And he spoke unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if you will give it, I pray you, hear me: I will give you money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം കേൾക്കെ അവൻ എഫ്രോനോടു: ദയ ചെയ്തു കേൾക്കേണം; നിലത്തിന്റെ വില ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തരുന്നതു എന്നോടു വാങ്ങേണം; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ മരിച്ചവളെ അവിടെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,എഫ്രോൻ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: യജമാനനേ, കേട്ടാലും:

My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that between me and you? bury therefore your dead.നാനൂറു ശേക്കെൽ വെള്ളി വിലയുള്ള ഒരു ഭൂമി, അതു എനിക്കും നിനക്കും എന്തുള്ളു? മരിച്ചവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തുകൊൾക എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.അബ്രാഹാം എഫ്രോന്റെ വാക്കു സമ്മതിച്ചു ഹിത്യർ കേൾക്കെ എഫ്രോൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ കച്ചവടക്കാർക്കു നടപ്പുള്ള വെള്ളിശേക്കെൽ നാനൂറു അവന്നു തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

And the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sureഇങ്ങനെ മമ്രേക്കരികെ എഫ്രോന്നുള്ള മക്ക്പേലാനിലവും അതിലെ ഗുഹയും നിലത്തിന്റെ അതിർക്കകത്തുള്ള സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും

Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.അവന്റെ നഗരവാസികളായ ഹിത്യരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു അവകാശമായി ഉറെച്ചുകിട്ടി.

And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan.അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെ കനാൻ ദേശത്തിലെ ഹെബ്രോൻ എന്ന മമ്രേക്കരികെയുള്ള മക്ക്പേലാനിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയിൽ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth.ഇങ്ങനെ ഹിത്യർ ആ നിലവും അതിലെ ഗുഹയും അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു ശ്മശാനാവകാശമായി ഉറപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

Genesis 24

And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.അബ്രാഹാം വയസ്സുചെന്നു വൃദ്ധനായി; യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനെ സകലത്തിലും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh:തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ മൂപ്പനും തനിക്കുള്ളതിന്നൊക്കെയും വിചാരകനുമായ ദാസനോടു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞതു: നിന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ തുടയിൻ കീഴിൽ വെക്കുക;

And I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that you shall not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:ചുറ്റും പാർക്കുന്ന കനാന്യരുടെ കന്യകമാരിൽനിന്നു നീ എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കാതെ,

But you shall go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.എന്റെ ദേശത്തും എന്റെ ചാർച്ചക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു എന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കുമെന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിക്കും.

And the servant said unto him, Possibly the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I essentially bring your son again unto the land from whence you came?ദാസൻ അവനോടു: പക്ഷേ സ്ത്രീക്കു എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഈ ദേശത്തേക്കു വരുവാൻ മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കിലോ? നീ വിട്ടുപോന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മകനെ മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Abraham said unto him, Beware you that you bring not my son thither again.അബ്രാഹാം അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്റെ മകനെ അവിടെക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക.

The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke unto me, and that swore unto me, saying, Unto your seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife unto my son from thence.എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിൽനിന്നും ജന്മദേശത്തുനിന്നും എന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവനും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കു ഞാൻ ഈ ദേശം കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തവനുമായി സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്റെ മകന്നു നീ ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ അവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി തന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയക്കും.

And if the woman will not be willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീക്കു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ വരുവാൻ മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കിൽ നീ ഈ സത്യത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും; എന്റെ മകനെ അവിടേക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോക മാത്രം അരുതു.

And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning that matter.അപ്പോൾ ദാസൻ തന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ തുടയിൻ കീഴിൽ കൈവെച്ചു അങ്ങനെ അവനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു.

And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.അനന്തരം ആ ദാസൻ തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളിൽ പത്തു ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെയും യജമാനന്നുള്ള വിവിധമായ വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കളെയും കൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു മെസൊപ്പൊത്താമ്യയിൽ നാഹോരിന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.

And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.വൈകുന്നേരം സ്ത്രീകൾ വെള്ളം കോരുവാൻ വരുന്ന സമയത്തു അവൻ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നിറുത്തി പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray you, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു കൃപചെയ്തു ഇന്നുതന്നെ കാര്യം സാധിപ്പിച്ചുതരേണമേ.

Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:ഇതാ, ഞാൻ കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നില്ക്കുന്നു; ഈ പട്ടണക്കാരുടെ കന്യകമാർ വെള്ളം കോരുവാൻ വരുന്നു.

And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down your pitcher, I pray you, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give your camels drink also: let the same be she that you have appointed for your servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that you have showed kindness unto my master.നിന്റെ പാത്രം ഇറക്കി എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ തരേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ പറയുമ്പോൾ: കുടിക്ക; നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾക്കും കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുക്കാമെന്നു പറയുന്ന സ്ത്രീ തന്നേ നീ നിന്റെ ദാസനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു നിയമിച്ചവളായിരിക്കട്ടെ; നീ എന്റെ യജമാനനോടു കൃപ ചെയ്തു എന്നു ഞാൻ അതിനാൽ ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു തീരുംമുമ്പെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ നാഹോരിന്റെ ഭാര്യ മിൽക്കയുടെ മകൻ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകൾ റിബെക്കാ തോളിൽ പാത്രവുമായി വന്നു.

And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.ബാല അതിസുന്ദരിയും പുരുഷൻ തൊടാത്ത കന്യകയും ആയിരുന്നു; അവൾ കിണറ്റിൽ ഇറങ്ങി പാത്രം നിറച്ചു കയറിവന്നു.

And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray you, drink a little water of your pitcher.ദാസൻ വേഗത്തിൽ അവളെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നു: നിന്റെ പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം കുറെ എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.യജമാനനേ, കുടിക്ക എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു വേഗം പാത്രം കയ്യിൽ ഇറക്കി അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുത്തു.

And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for your camels also, until they have done drinking.അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുത്ത ശേഷം: നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾക്കും വേണ്ടുവോളം ഞാൻ കോരിക്കൊടുക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു,

And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the gutter, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം വേഗം തൊട്ടിയിൽ ഒഴിച്ചു, പിന്നെയും കോരിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ കിണറ്റിലേക്കു ഓടി ഇറങ്ങി അവന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾക്കും എല്ലാം കോരിക്കൊടുത്തു.

And the man wondering at her held his peace, to know whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.ആ പുരുഷൻ അവളെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കി, യഹോവ തന്റെ യാത്രയെ സഫലമാക്കിയോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾ കുടിച്ചു തീർന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ അര ശേക്കെൽ തൂക്കമുള്ള ഒരു പൊന്മൂക്കുത്തിയും അവളുടെ കൈക്കിടുവാൻ പത്തു ശേക്കെൽ തൂക്കമുള്ള രണ്ടു പൊൻവളയും എടുത്തു അവളോടു:

And said, Whose daughter are you? tell me, I pray you: is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?നീ ആരുടെ മകൾ? പറക; നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു രാപാർപ്പാൻ സ്ഥലമുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and animal food enough, and room to lodge in.ഞങ്ങളുടെയവിടെ വയ്ക്കോലും തീനും വേണ്ടുവോളം ഉണ്ടു; രാപാർപ്പാൻ സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ടു എന്നും അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.അപ്പോൾ ആ പുരുഷൻ കുനിഞ്ഞു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു:

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who has not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ; അവൻ എന്റെ യജമാനനോടുള്ള ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഈ യാത്രയിൽ യഹോവ എന്നെ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things.ബാല ഓടിച്ചെന്നു അമ്മയുടെ വീട്ടുകാരെ ഈ വസ്തുത അറിയിച്ചു.

And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.റിബെക്കെക്കു ഒരു സഹോദരൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്നു ലാബാൻ എന്നു പേർ. ലാബാൻ പുറത്തു കിണറ്റിങ്കൽ ആ പുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഓടിച്ചെന്നു.

And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spoke the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.അവൻ മൂക്കുത്തിയും സഹോദരിയുടെ കൈമേൽ വളയും കാണുകയും ആ പുരുഷൻ ഇന്നപ്രകാരം എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ റിബെക്കയുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയും ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ആ പുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; അവൻ കിണറ്റിങ്കൽ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളുടെ അരികെ നിൽക്കയായിരുന്നു.

And he said, Come in, you blessed of the LORD; wherefore stand you without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: യഹോവയാൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനേ, അകത്തു വരിക; എന്തിന്നു പുറത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നു? വീടും ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾക്കു സ്ഥലവും ഞാൻ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the man came into the house: and he unbounded his camels, and gave straw and animal food for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.അങ്ങനെ ആ പുരുഷൻ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു. അവൻ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ കോപ്പഴിച്ചു ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾക്കു വയ്ക്കോലും തീനും അവന്നും കൂടെയുള്ളവർക്കും കാലുകളെ കഴുകുവാൻ വെള്ളവും കൊടുത്തു, അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഭക്ഷണം വെച്ചു.

And there was set food before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.ഞാൻ വന്ന കാര്യം അറിയിക്കും മുമ്പെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. പറക എന്നു അവനും പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, I am Abraham's servant.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസൻ.

And the LORD has blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he has given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and male servants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.യഹോവ എന്റെ യജമാനനെ ഏറ്റവും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവൻ മഹാനായിത്തീർന്നു; അവൻ അവന്നു ആടു, മാടു, പൊന്നു, വെള്ളി, ദാസീദാസന്മാർ, ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾ കഴുതകൾ എന്നീവകയൊക്കെയും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

And my master made me swear, saying, You shall not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:ഞാൻ പാർക്കുന്ന കനാൻ ദേശത്തിലെ കനാന്യ കന്യകമാരിൽനിന്നു നീ എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കാതെ,

But you shall go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലും വംശക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യജമാനൻ എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

And I said unto my master, Possibly the woman will not follow me.ഞാൻ യജമാനനോടു: പക്ഷേ സ്ത്രീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ പേരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവൻ എന്നോടു:

And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way; and you shall take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:ഞാൻ സേവിച്ചുപോരുന്ന യഹോവ തന്റെ ദൂതനെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചു, നീ എന്റെ വംശത്തിൽനിന്നും പിതൃഭവനത്തിൽനിന്നും എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ യാത്രയെ സഫലമാക്കും;

Then shall you be clear from this my oath, when you come to my kindred; and if they give not you one, you shall be clear from my oath.എന്റെ വംശക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നാൽ നീ ഈ സത്യത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും; അവർ നിനക്കു തരുന്നില്ല എന്നു വരികിലും നീ ഈ സത്യത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go:ഞാൻ ഇന്നു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ വന്നപ്പോൾ പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ യാത്രയെ നീ സഫലമാക്കി എങ്കിൽ--

And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, the daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.ഞാൻ അവളോടു: നീ ആരുടെ മകൾ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൾ: മിൽക്കാ നാഹോറിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകൾ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാൻ അവളുടെ മൂക്കിന്നു മൂക്കുത്തിയും കൈകൾക്കു വളയും ഇട്ടു.

And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son.ഞാൻ കുനിഞ്ഞു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു, എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മകളെ അവന്റെ മകന്നായിട്ടു എടുപ്പാൻ എന്നെ നേർവ്വഴിക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനായി എന്റെ യജമാനൻ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.

Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceeds from the LORD: we cannot speak unto you bad or good.അപ്പോൾ ലാബാനും ബെഥൂവേലും: ഈ കാര്യം യഹോവയാൽ വരുന്നു; നിന്നോടു ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും പറവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കഴികയില്ല.

Behold, Rebekah is before you, take her, and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as the LORD has spoken.ഇതാ, റിബെക്കാ നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോക; യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവൾ നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയാകട്ടെ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസൻ അവരുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ യഹോവയെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth.ഞങ്ങൾ ബാലയെ വിളിച്ചു അവളോടു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Will you go with this man? And she said, I will go.അവർ റിബെക്കയെ വിളിച്ചു അവളോടു: നീ ഈ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ പോകുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഞാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.

And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.അങ്ങനെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരിയായ റിബെക്കയെയും അവളുടെ ധാത്രിയെയും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസനെയും അവന്റെ ആളുകളെയും പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walks in the field to meet us? And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.താൻ ചെയ്ത കാര്യം ഒക്കെയും ദാസൻ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
