Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's heart was toward Absalom.രാജാവിന്റെ മനസ്സു അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ നേരെ ചാഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ യോവാബ് അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ തെക്കോവയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു

And Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray you, feign yourself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not yourself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:അവിടെനിന്നു വിവേകവതിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വരുത്തി അവളോടു: മരിച്ചുപോയവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഏറിയനാളായിട്ടു ദുഃഖിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഭാര്യയുടെ ഭാവത്തിൽ നീ ദുഃഖംനടിച്ചും ദുഃഖവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും തൈലം പൂശാതെയും

And come to the king, and speak on this manner unto him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യോവാബ് വാചകം അവൾക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

And when the woman of Tekoah spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did reverence, and said, Help, O king.ഇങ്ങനെ തെക്കോവക്കാരത്തിയായ സ്ത്രീ രാജാവിനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ ചെന്നു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു: രാജാവേ, രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said unto her, What disturbs you? And she answered, I am indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is dead.രാജാവു അവളോടു: നിനക്കു എന്തുവേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞതു: അടിയൻ ഒരു വിധവ ആകുന്നു; ഭർത്താവു മരിച്ചുപോയി.

And your handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and there was none to part them, but the one stroke the other, and slew him.എന്നാൽ അടിയന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ വയലിൽവെച്ചു തമ്മിൽ കലഹിച്ചു; അവരെ പിടിച്ചുമാറ്റുവാൻ ആരും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തൻ മറ്റവനെ അടിച്ചുകൊന്നു.

And, behold, the whole family has risen against yours handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that stroke his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.കുലം മുഴുവനും അടിയന്റെ നേരെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു: സഹോദരഘാതകനെ ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക; അവൻ കൊന്ന സഹോദരന്റെ ജീവന്നു പകരം അവനെ കൊന്നു അങ്ങനെ അവകാശിയെയും നശിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ എന്റെ ഭർത്താവിന്നു പേരും സന്തതിയും ഭൂമിയിൽ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ എനിക്കു ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കനലും കെടുത്തുകളവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു.

And the king said unto the woman, Go to yours house, and I will give charge concerning you.രാജാവു സ്ത്രീയോടു: നിന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോക; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ കല്പന കൊടുക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my father's house: and the king and his throne be guiltless.ആ തെക്കോവക്കാരത്തി രാജാവിനാടു: എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, കുറ്റം എന്റെ മേലും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്മേലും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; രാജാവിന്നും സിംഹാസനത്തിന്നും കുറ്റമില്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said, Whoever says ought unto you, bring him to me, and he shall not touch you any more.അതിന്നു രാജാവു: നിന്നോടു വല്ലതും പറയുന്നവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരിക; അവൻ പിന്നെ നിന്നെ തൊടുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said she, I pray you, let the king remember the LORD your God, that you would not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD lives, there shall not one hair of your son fall to the earth.രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ അധികം സംഹാരം ചെയ്കയും എന്റെ മകനെ അവർ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാജാവു ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഓർക്കേണമേ എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു അവൻ: യഹോവയാണ, നിന്റെ മകന്റെ ഒരു രോമം പോലും നിലത്തു വീഴുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then the woman said, Let yours handmaid, I pray you, speak one word unto my lord the king. And he said, Say on.അപ്പോൾ ആ സ്ത്രീ: യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടു അടിയൻ ഒരു വാക്കു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പറക എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And the woman said, Wherefore then have you thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king does speak this thing as one which is faulty, in that the king does not fetch home again his banished.ആ സ്ത്രീ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള കാര്യം നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി വിചാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? രാജാവു തന്റെ ഭ്രഷ്ടനെ മടക്കി വരുത്താഞ്ഞതിനാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ കല്പിച്ച വചനംകൊണ്ടു രാജാവു തന്നേ കുറ്റക്കാരനെന്നു വന്നുവല്ലോ.

For we must essentially die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither does God respect any person: yet does he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.നാം മരിക്കേണ്ടുന്നവരല്ലോ: നിലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതും വീണ്ടും ചേർത്തുകൂടാത്തതുമായ വെള്ളംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവം ജീവനെ എടുത്തുകളയാതെ ഭ്രഷ്ടനായവൻ തനിക്കു ഇനിയും ഭ്രഷ്ടനായിരിക്കാതവണ്ണം മാർഗ്ഗം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു.

Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and your handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid.ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനെ ഈ കാര്യം ഉണർത്തിപ്പാൻ വന്നതു ജനം എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഇപ്പോൾ രാജാവിനെ ഉണർത്തിക്കട്ടെ. പക്ഷേ രാജാവു അടിയന്റെ അപേക്ഷ പ്രകാരം ചെയ്യുമായിരിക്കും;

For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.രാജാവു കേട്ടു എന്നെയും എന്റെ മകനെയും ഒന്നിച്ചു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നു അടിയൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

Then yours handmaid said, The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD your God will be with you.യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന ആശ്വാസമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഗുണവും ദോഷവും തിരിച്ചറിവാൻ യജമാനനായ രാജാവു ഒരു ദൈവദൂതനെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും അടിയൻ വിചാരിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

Then the king answered and said unto the woman, Hide not from me, I pray you, the thing that I shall ask you. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.രാജാവു സ്ത്രീയോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ഒരു കാര്യം ചോദിക്കുന്നു; അതു എന്നോടു മറെച്ചുവെക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യജമാനനായ രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചാലും എന്നു സ്ത്രീ പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with you in all this? And the woman answered and said, As your soul lives, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king has spoken: for your servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of yours handmaid:അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു: ഇതിലൊക്കെയും യോവാബിന്റെ കൈ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു സ്ത്രീ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, നിന്റെ ജീവനാണ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്താൽ വലത്തോട്ടോ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ ആർക്കും മാറിക്കൂടാ; നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ യോവാബ് തന്നേ ആകുന്നു ഇതു അടിയനോടു കല്പിച്ചതു; അവൻ തന്നേ ഈ വാചകമൊക്കെയും അടിയന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതു.

To fetch about this form of speech has your servant Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.കാര്യത്തിന്റെ രൂപം മാറ്റേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ യോവാബ് ഇതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും അറിവാൻ ഒരു ദൈവദൂതന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം എന്റെ യജമാനൻ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവനാകുന്നു.

And the king said unto Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.രാജാവു യോവാബിനോടു: ഞാൻ ഈ കാര്യം സമ്മതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ ചെന്നു അബ്ശാലോംകുമാരനെ കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day your servant knows that I have found grace in your sight, my lord, O king, in that the king has fulfilled the request of his servant.യോവാബ് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു രാജാവിനെ അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, അടിയന്റെ വാക്കു പോലെ രാജാവു ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു അടിയന്നു തിരുമുമ്പിൽ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചു എന്നു അടിയൻ ഇന്നു അറിയുന്നു എന്നു യോവാബ് പറഞ്ഞു.

So Joab arose and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.അങ്ങനെ യോവാബ് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഗെശൂരിൽ ചെന്നു അബ്ശാലോമിനെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വന്നു.

And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face.എന്നാൽ രാജാവു: അവൻ തന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോകട്ടെ; എന്റെ മുഖം അവൻ കാണരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ അബ്ശാലോം തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പോയി; രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖം കണ്ടതുമില്ല.

But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.എന്നാൽ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിലും സൌന്ദര്യംകൊണ്ടു അബ്ശാലോമിനോളം ശ്ളാഘ്യനായ ഒരുത്തനും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അടിതൊട്ടു മുടിവരെ അവന്നു ഒരു ഊനവും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.അവൻ തന്റെ തലമുടി ആണ്ടുതോറും കത്രിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും; അതു തനിക്കു ഭാരമായിരിക്കയാൽ അത്രേ കത്രിപ്പിച്ചതു; അവന്റെ തലമുടി കത്രിച്ചാൽ രാജതൂക്കത്തിന്നു ഇരുനൂറു ശേക്കെൽ കാണും.

And unto Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു മൂന്നു പുത്രന്മാരും താമാർ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു മകളും ജനിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവൾ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീ ആയിരുന്നു.

So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face.രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖം കാണാതെ അബ്ശാലോം രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം മുഴുവനും യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർത്തു.

Therefore Absalom sent for Joab, to have sent him to the king; but he would not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.ആകയാൽ അബ്ശാലോം യോവാബിനെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ വിളിപ്പാൻ ആളയച്ചു. എന്നാൽ അവൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നില്ല. രണ്ടാമതു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിട്ടും അവൻ ചെന്നില്ല.

Therefore he said unto his servants, See, Joab's field is near mine, and he has barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom's servants set the field on fire.അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: എന്റെ നിലത്തിന്നരികെ യോവാബിന്നു ഒരു നിലം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അതിൽ യവം വിളഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ചെന്നു അതു തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ആ കൃഷി ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house, and said unto him, Wherefore have your servants set my field on fire?അപ്പോൾ യോവാബ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ എന്റെ കൃഷി ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto you, saying, Come here, that I may send you to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.അബ്ശാലോം യോവാബിനോടു: ഞാൻ ഗെശൂരിൽനിന്നു എന്തിന്നു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു? ഞാൻ അവിടെത്തന്നേ പാർത്തിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നു രാജാവിനോടു പറവാൻ നിന്നെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇവിടെ വരേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചുവല്ലോ; എനിക്കു ഇപ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖം കാണേണം; എന്നിൽ കുറ്റം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവൻ എന്നെ കൊല്ലട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.യോവാബ് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു വസ്തുത അറിയിച്ചു; അവൻ അബ്ശാലോമിനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു; അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു; രാജാവു അബ്ശാലോമിനെ ചുംബിച്ചു.

2 Samuel 15

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.അനന്തരം അബ്ശാലോം ഒരു രഥത്തെയും കുതിരകളെയും തന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഓടുവാൻ അമ്പതു അകമ്പടികളെയും സമ്പാദിച്ചു.

And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city are you? And he said, Your servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.അബ്ശാലോം അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു പടിവാതിൽക്കൽ വഴിയരികെ നില്ക്കും; ആരെങ്കിലും വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വിസ്താരത്തിന്നായി വരുമ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: നീ ഏതു പട്ടണക്കാരൻ എന്നു ചോദിക്കും; അടിയൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഇന്ന ഗോത്രക്കാരൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറയുമ്പോൾ

And Absalom said unto him, See, your matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear you.അബ്ശാലോം അവനോടു: നിന്റെ കാര്യം ന്യായവും നേരുമുള്ളതു; എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ കാര്യം കേൾപ്പാൻ രാജാവു ആരെയും കല്പിച്ചാക്കീട്ടില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറയും.

Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which has any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!ഹാ, വഴക്കും വ്യവഹാരവും ഉള്ളവരൊക്കെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിട്ടു ഞാൻ അവർക്കു ന്യായം തീർപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ രാജ്യത്തു ന്യായാധിപനാക്കിയെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നും അബ്ശാലോം പറയും.

And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him reverence, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.ആരെങ്കിലും അവനെ നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ അടുത്തു ചെന്നാൽ അവൻ കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ പിടിച്ചു ചുംബനം ചെയ്യും.

And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിന്നു വരുന്ന എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടും അബ്ശാലോം ഇവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ചെയ്തു; അങ്ങനെ അബ്ശാലോം യിസ്രായേല്യരുടെ ഹൃദയം വശീകരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray you, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron.നാലുസംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ യഹോവെക്കു നേർന്ന ഒരു നേർച്ച ഹെബ്രോനിൽ ചെന്നു കഴിപ്പാൻ അനുവാദം തരേണമേ.

For your servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.യഹോവ എന്നെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തിയാൽ യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു ആരാധന കഴിക്കും എന്നു അടിയൻ അരാമിലെ ഗെശൂരിൽ പാർത്ത കാലം ഒരു നേർച്ച നേർന്നിരുന്നു.

And the king said unto him, Go in peace. So he arose, and went to Hebron.രാജാവു അവനോടു: സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഹെബ്രോനിലേക്കു പോയി.

But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as all of you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all of you shall say, Absalom reigns in Hebron.എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം യിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽ എല്ലാടവും ചാരന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ കാഹളനാദം കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം ഹെബ്രോനിൽ രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറവിൻ എന്നു പറയിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing.അബ്ശാലോമിനോടുകൂടെ യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരായി ഇരുനൂറു പേർ പോയിരുന്നു. അവർ ഒന്നും അറിയാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ പരമാർത്ഥതയിലായിരുന്നു പോയതു.

And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.അനന്തരം ഒരു ദൂതൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു: യിസ്രായേല്യരുടെ ഹൃദയം അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു യേജിച്ചുപോയി എന്നറിയിച്ചു.

And the king's servants said unto the king, Behold, your servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint.രാജഭൃത്യന്മാർ രാജാവിനോടു: യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ ഹിതമൊക്കെയും അടിയങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മതം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house.അങ്ങനെ രാജാവു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവന്റെ ഗൃഹമൊക്കെയും അവനെ പിഞ്ചെന്നു; എന്നാൽ രാജധാനി സൂക്ഷിപ്പാൻ രാജാവു പത്തു വെപ്പാട്ടികളെ താമസിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.അവന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരും അവന്റെ അരികത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോയി; എല്ലാക്രേത്യരും എല്ലാപ്ളേത്യരും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു പോന്നിരുന്ന അറുനൂറുപേരായ എല്ലാഗിത്യരും രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കടന്നുപോയി.

Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore go you also with us? return to your place, and abide with the king: for you are a stranger, and also an exile.രാജാവു ഗിത്യനായ ഇത്ഥായിയോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നീയും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വരുന്നതു എന്തിനു? നീ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ പാർക്ക; നീ പരദേശിയും സ്വദേശഭ്രഷ്ടനും അല്ലോ; നിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു തന്നേ പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക;

Whereas you came but yesterday, should I this day make you go up and down with us? seeing I go where I may, return you, and take back your brethren: mercy and truth be with you.നീ ഇന്നലെ വന്നതേയുള്ളു; ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ അലഞ്ഞുനടക്കുമാറാക്കുമോ? ഞാൻ തരം കാണുന്നേടത്തേക്കു പോകുന്നു; നീ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടി മടങ്ങിപ്പോക; ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will your servant be.അതിന്നു ഇത്ഥായി രാജാവിനോടു: യഹോവയാണ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവാണ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവു എവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നുവോ അവിടെത്തന്നെ മരണമോ ജീവനോ എന്തു വന്നാലും അടിയനും ഇരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And David said to Ittai, Go and pass over. And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.ദാവീദ് ഇത്ഥായിയോടു: നീ കൂടെ പോരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ ഗിത്യനായ ഇത്ഥായിയും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളും എല്ലാം കടന്നുപോയി.

And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.ദേശത്തൊക്കെയും വലിയ കരച്ചലായി; ജനമെല്ലാം കടന്നുപായി; രാജാവും കിദ്രോൻ തോടു കടന്നു; ജനമൊക്കെയും മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിക്കുപോയി.

And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city.സാദോക്കും അവനോടുകൂടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നിയമപ്പെട്ടകം ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ ലേവ്യരും വന്നു. അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം താഴെ വെച്ചു, ജനമൊക്കെയും പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു കടന്നുതീരുംവരെ അബ്യാഥാർ മല കയറി ചെന്നു.

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:രാജാവു സാദോക്കിനോടു: നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുപോക; യഹോവെക്കു എന്നോടു കൃപ തോന്നിയാൽ അവൻ എന്നെ മടിക്കവരുത്തും; ഇതും തിരുനിവാസവും കാണ്മാൻ എനിക്കു ഇടയാകും.

But if he thus say, I have no delight in you; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seems good unto him.അല്ല, എനിക്കു നിന്നിൽ പ്രസാദമില്ല എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഇതാ, ഞാൻ ഒരുക്കം; അവൻ തനിക്കു ഹിതമാകുംവണ്ണം എന്നോടു ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me.എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു സൂക്ഷ്മവർത്തമാനം കിട്ടുംവരെ ഞാൻ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള കടവിങ്കൽ താമസിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there.അങ്ങനെ സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി, അവിടെ താമസിച്ചു.

And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.ദാവീദ് തല മൂടിയും ചെരിപ്പിടാതെയും നടന്നു കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു ഒലിവുമലയുടെ കയറ്റംകയറി; കൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും തല മൂടി കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു കയറിച്ചെന്നു.

And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray you, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.അബ്ശാലോമിനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുകാരിൽ അഹീഥോഫെലും ഉണ്ടെന്നു ദാവീദിന്നു അറിവുകിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ: യഹോവ, അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെ അബദ്ധമാക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് മലമുകളിൽ ദൈവത്തെ ആരാധിച്ചുവന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായി അങ്കി കീറിയും തലയിൽ മണ്ണു വാരിയിട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്നെതിരെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

Unto whom David said, If you pass on with me, then you shall be a burden unto me:അവനോടു ദാവീദ് പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ എന്നോടു കൂടെ പോന്നാൽ എനിക്കു ഭാരമായിരിക്കും.

But if you return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be your servant, O king; as I have been your father's servant until now, so will I now also be your servant: then may you for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel.എന്നാൽ നീ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: രാജാവേ, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ദാസനായിരുന്നുകൊള്ളാം; ഞാൻ ഇതുവരെ നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ദാസൻ ആയിരുന്നതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദാസനായിരിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ നിനക്കു അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെ വ്യർത്ഥമാക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും.

And have you not there with you Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that whatsoever you shall hear out of the king's house, you shall tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.അവിടെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരും ഉണ്ടു. അതുകൊണ്ടു രാജധാനിയിൽനിന്നു കേൾക്കുന്നവർത്തമാനമൊക്കെയും നീ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കിനെയും അബ്യാഥാരിനെയും അറിയിക്കേണം.

Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them all of you shall send unto me every thing that all of you can hear.അവിടെ അവരോടു കൂടെ അവരുടെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ, സാദോക്കിന്റെ മകൻ അഹീമാസും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകൻ യോനാഥാനും ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കുന്ന വർത്തമാനം ഒക്കെയും അവർ മുഖാന്തരം എന്നെ അറിയിപ്പിൻ.

So Hushai David's friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനായ ഹൂശായി പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു. അബ്ശാലോമും യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തി.

And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred bunches of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.ദാവീദ് മലമുകൾ കടന്നു കുറെ അപ്പുറം ചെന്നപ്പോൾ മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ സീബാ കോപ്പിട്ട രണ്ടുകഴുതയുമായി എതിരെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവയുടെ പുറത്തു ഇരുനൂറു അപ്പവും നൂറു ഉണക്കമുന്തിരിക്കുലയും നൂറു അത്തിയടയും ഒരു തുരുത്തി വീഞ്ഞും കയറ്റിയിരുന്നു.

And the king said unto Ziba, What mean you by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.രാജാവു സീബയോടു: ഇതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു സീബാ: കഴുതകൾ രാജാവിന്റെ കുടുംബക്കാർക്കു കയറുവാനും അപ്പവും പഴവും ബാല്യക്കാർക്കു തിന്മാനും വീഞ്ഞു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ക്ഷീണിച്ചവർക്കു കുടിപ്പാനും തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said, And where is your master's son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abides at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകൻ എവിടെ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു സീബാ രാജാവിനോടു: അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ രാജത്വം ഇന്നു എനിക്കു തിരികെ തരുമെന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, yours are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly plead to you that I may find grace in your sight, my lord, O king.രാജാവു സീബയോടു: ഇതാ, മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു സീബാ: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഞാൻ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു; തിരുമുമ്പിൽ എനിക്കു ദയ ലഭിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവു ബഹൂരീമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ശൌലിന്റെ കുലത്തിൽ ഗേരയുടെ മകൻ ശീമെയി എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരുത്തൻ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ശപിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.അവൻ ദാവീദിനെയും രാജഭൃത്യന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും കല്ലുവാരി എറിഞ്ഞു; ജനവും വീരന്മാരുമെല്ലാം ഇടത്തും വലത്തുമായി നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, you bloody man, and you man of Belial:ശിമെയി ശപിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ഇവ്വണം പറഞ്ഞു: രക്തപാതകാ, നീചാ, പോ, പോ.

The LORD has returned upon you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose position you have reigned; and the LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son: and, behold, you are taken in your mischief, because you are a bloody man.ശൌൽ ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ രക്തം യഹോവ നിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു പകരമല്ലോ നീ രാജാവയതു; യഹോവ രാജത്വം നിന്റെ മകനായ അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ രക്തപാതകനായിരിക്കയാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ദോഷത്തിന്റെ ഫലം നിനക്കു വന്നുഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray you, and take off his head.അപ്പോൾ സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ അബീശായി രാജാവിനോടു: ഈ ചത്ത നായി എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനെ ശപിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞാൻ ചെന്നു അവന്റെ തല വെട്ടിക്കളയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said, What have I to do with you, all of you sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD has said unto him, Curse David. And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came out of my bowels, seeks my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has bidden him.പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് അബീശായിയോടും തന്റെ സകല ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടും പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്റെ ഉദരത്തിൽ നിന്നു പറപ്പെട്ട മകൻ എനിക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഈ ബെന്യാമീന്യൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു ആശ്ചര്യമോ? അവനെ വിടുവിൻ; അവൻ ശപിക്കട്ടെ; യഹോവ അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.പക്ഷേ യഹോവ എന്റെ സങ്കടം നോക്കി ഇന്നത്തെ ഇവന്റെ ശാപത്തിന്നു പകരം എനിക്കു അനുഗ്രഹം നല്കും.

And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill's side opposite to him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും വഴിനടന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ ശിമെയിയും മലഞ്ചരിവിൽ കൂടി അടുത്തു നടന്നു; നടന്നുകൊണ്ടു ശപിക്കയും കല്ലും പൂഴിയും വാരി അവനെ എറികയും ചെയ്തു.

And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary, and refreshed themselves there.രാജാവും കൂടെയുള്ള സകല ജനവും ക്ഷീണിച്ചവരായി എത്തി അവിടെ ആശ്വസിച്ചു.

And Absalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോമും യിസ്രായേല്യരായ ജനമൊക്കെയും അഹീഥോഫെലുമായി യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തി.

And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതൻ അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിട്ടു അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: രാജാവേ, ജയ ജയ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this your kindness to your friend? why went you not with your friend?അപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം ഹൂശായിയോടു: ഇതാകുന്നുവോ നിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനോടു നിനക്കുള്ള സ്നേഹം? സ്നേഹിതനോടുകൂടെ പോകാതിരുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.അതിന്നു ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: അങ്ങനെയല്ല, യഹോവയും ഈ ജനവും യിസ്രായേല്യരൊക്കെയും ആരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നുവോ അവന്നുള്ളവൻ ആകന്നു ഞാൻ; അവന്റെ പക്ഷത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കും.

And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in your father's presence, so will I be in your presence.ഞാൻ ആരെ ആകുന്നു സേവിക്കേണ്ടതു? അവന്റെ മകനെ അല്ലയോ? ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അപ്പനെ സേവിച്ചതുപോലെ നിന്നെയും സേവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.അനന്തരം അബ്ശാലോം അഹിഥോഫെലിനോടു: നാം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ആലോചിച്ചു പറവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto your father's concubines, which he has left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that you are abhorred of your father: then shall the hands of all that are with you be strong.അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: രാജധാനി സൂക്ഷിപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ പാർപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അവന്റെ വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ നീ ചെല്ലുക; എന്നാൽ നീ നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നെ വെറുപ്പാക്കി എന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും കേൾക്കും; നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും ധൈര്യപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel.അങ്ങനെ അവർ അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു വെൺമാടിത്തിന്മേൽ ഒരു കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു; അവിടെ അബ്ശാലോം എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും കാൺകെ തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.അക്കാലത്തു അഹീഥോഫെൽ പറയുന്ന ആലോചന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്നും അബ്ശാലോമിന്നും അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെല്ലാം അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു.

Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:അനന്തരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ പന്തീരായിരം പേരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഇന്നു രാത്രി തന്നേ ദാവീദിനെ പിന്തുടരട്ടെ.

And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will strike the king only:ക്ഷീണിച്ചും അധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്ന അവനെ ഞാൻ ആക്രമിച്ചു ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും ഓടിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ രാജാവിനെ മാത്രം വെട്ടിക്കളയും.

And I will bring back all the people unto you: the man whom you seek is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.പിന്നെ ഞാൻ സകലജനത്തെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടക്കിവരുത്തും; നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എല്ലാവരും മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ സകലജനവും സമാധാനത്തോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.ഈ വാക്കു അബ്ശാലോമിന്നും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാർക്കൊക്കെയും വളരെ ബോധിച്ചു.

Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he says.എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം: അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായിയെ വിളിക്ക; അവന്റെ അഭിപ്രായവും കേൾക്കാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spoke unto him, saying, Ahithophel has spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak you.ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം അവനോടു: ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ നാം ചെയ്കയോ? അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നീ പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel has given is not good at this time.ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: അഹീഥോഫെൽ ഈ പ്രാവശ്യം പറഞ്ഞ ആലോചന നന്നല്ല.

For, said Hushai, you know your father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and your father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.നിന്റെ അപ്പനും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും വീരന്മാരും കാട്ടിൽ കുട്ടികൾ കവർന്നുപോയ കരടിയെപ്പോലെ ഉഗ്രമാനസന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ. നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ യോദ്ധാവാകുന്നു. അവൻ ജനത്തോടുകൂടെ രാപാർക്കയില്ല.

Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever hears it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.അവൻ ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു ഗുഹയിലോ മറ്റു വല്ല സ്ഥലത്തോ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കയായിരിക്കും; ആരംഭത്തിങ്കൽ തന്നേ ഇവരിൽ ചിലർ പട്ടുപോയാൽ അതു കേൾക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരും അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാരിൽ സംഹാരമുണ്ടായി എന്നു പറയും.

And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.അപ്പോൾ സീംഹഹൃദയംപോലെ ഹൃദയമുള്ള ശൂരനും കൂടെ അശേഷം ഉരുകിപ്പോകും; നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ വീരനും അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർ ശൂരന്മാരും എന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അറിയുന്നു.

Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto you, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in yours own person.ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ പറയുന്ന ആലോചന എന്തെന്നാൽ: ദാൻമുതൽ ബേർ-ശേബവരെ കടൽക്കരയിലെ മണൽപോലെ അസംഖ്യമായിരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടുകയും തിരുമേനി തന്നേ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു എഴുന്നെള്ളുകയും വേണം.

So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falls on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.അവനെ കാണുന്നേടത്തു നാം അവനെ ആക്രമിച്ചു മഞ്ഞു ഭൂമിയിൽ പൊഴിയുന്നതുപോലെ അവന്റെമേൽ ചെന്നു വീഴും; പിന്നെ അവനാകട്ടെ അവനോടു കൂടെയുള്ള എല്ലാവരിലും ഒരുത്തൻ പോലും ആകട്ടെ ശേഷിക്കയില്ല.

Moreover, if he be got into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.അവൻ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടന്നുകൂടി എങ്കിലോ യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം ആ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു കയറുകെട്ടി അവിടെ ഒരു ചെറിയ കല്ലുപോലും കാണാതാകുംവരെ അതിനെ നദിയിൽ വലിച്ചിട്ടുകളയും.

And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.അപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോമും എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേല്യരും: അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെക്കാൾ അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായിയുടെ ആലോചന നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു അനർത്ഥം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ നല്ല ആലോചനയെ വ്യർത്ഥമാക്കുവാൻ യഹോവ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നു.

Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.അനന്തരം ഹൂശായി പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കിനോടും അബ്യാഥാരിനോടു: ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരോടും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു; ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം ഞാനും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ വേഗത്തിൽ ആളയച്ചു: ഈ രാത്രി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള കടവിങ്കൽ പാർക്കരുതു; രാജാവിന്നും കൂടെയുള്ള സകലജനത്തിന്നും നാശം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏതു വിധേനയും അക്കരെ കടന്നുപോകേണം എന്നു ദാവീദിനെ അറിയിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by Enrogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a maid servant went and told them; and they went and told king David.എന്നാൽ യോനാഥാനും അഹീമാസും പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കാണിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഏൻ-രോഗെലിന്നരികെ കാത്തുനില്ക്കും; ഒരു വേലക്കാരത്തി ചെന്നു അവരെ അറിയിക്കയും അവർ ചെന്നു ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യും;

Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; where they went down.എന്നാൽ ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരൻ അവരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു അറിവു കൊടുത്തു. ആകയാൽ അവർ ഇരുവരും വേഗം പോയി ബഹുരീമിൽ ഒരു ആളുടെ വീട്ടിൽ കയറി; അവന്റെ മുറ്റത്തു ഒരു കിണറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ അതിൽ ഇറങ്ങി.

And the woman took and spread a covering over the well's mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known.വീട്ടുകാരത്തി മൂടുവിരി എടുത്തു കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായിന്മേൽ വിരിച്ചു അതിൽ കോതമ്പുതരി ചിക്കി; ഇങ്ങനെ കാര്യം അറിവാൻ ഇടയായില്ല.

And when Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു: അഹീമാസും യോനാഥാനും എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: അവർ നീർതോടു കടന്നുപോയി എന്നു സ്ത്രീ പറഞ്ഞു അവർ അന്വേഷിച്ചിട്ടു കാണായ്കയാൽ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus has Ahithophel counselled against you.അവർ പോയശേഷം അവർ കിണറ്റിൽ നിന്നു കയറിച്ചെന്നു ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വേഗം നദികടന്നു പോകുവിൻ; ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായിട്ടു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.ഉടനെ ദാവീദും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും എഴുന്നേറ്റു യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു; നേരം വെളുക്കുമ്പോഴെക്കു യോർദ്ദാൻ കടക്കാതെ ഒരുത്തൻ പോലും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.

And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and got him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.എന്നാൽ അഹീഥോഫെൽ തന്റെ ആലോചന നടന്നില്ല എന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കോപ്പിട്ടു കയറി തന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ വീട്ടിലേക്കു ചെന്നു വീട്ടുകാര്യം ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തിയശേഷം കെട്ടി ഞാന്നു മരിച്ചു; അവന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ കല്ലറയിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് മഹനയീമിൽ എത്തി. അബ്ശാലോമും കൂടെയുള്ള യിസ്രായേൽജനമൊക്കെയും യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു.

And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab's mother.അബ്ശാലോം യോവാബിന്നു പകരം അമാസയെ സേനാധിപതി ആക്കി; അമാസയോ നാഹാശിന്റെ മകളും യോവാബിന്റെ അമ്മ സെരൂയയുടെ സഹോദരിയും ആയ അബീഗലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ യിത്രാ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു യിശ്മായേല്യൻ ചെന്നിട്ടു ഉണ്ടായ മകൻ.

So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേലും അബ്ശാലോമും ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശത്തു പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

Brought beds, and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentils, and parched vegetables,കിടക്കകളും കിണ്ണങ്ങളും മൺപാത്രങ്ങളും ദാവീദിന്നും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനത്തിന്നും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ, കോതമ്പു, യവം, മാവു, മലർ, അമരക്ക, പയർ, പരിപ്പു, തേൻ,

And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of cattle, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness.വെണ്ണ, ആടു, പശുവിൻ പാൽക്കട്ട എന്നിവയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ജനം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിശന്നും ദാഹിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
