Deuteronomy 20

When you go out to battle against yours enemies, and see horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them: for the LORD your God is with you, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.നീ ശത്രുക്കളോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്‍വാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു കുതിരകളെയും രഥങ്ങളെയും നിന്നിലും അധികം ജനത്തെയും കാണുമ്പോൾ പേടിക്കരുതു; മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു.

And it shall be, when all of you are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,നിങ്ങൾ പടയേല്പാൻ അടുക്കുമ്പോൾ പുരോഹിതൻ വന്നു ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:

And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, all of you approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be all of you terrified because of them;യിസ്രായേലേ, കേൾക്ക; നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്നു ശത്രുക്കളോടു പടയേല്പാൻ അടുക്കുന്നു; അധൈര്യപ്പെടരുതു, പേടിക്കരുതു, നടുങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു; അവരെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിക്കയുമരുതു.

For the LORD your God is he that goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായയഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ശത്രുക്കളോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു നിങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പോരുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറയേണം.

And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that has built a new house, and has not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.പിന്നെ പ്രമാണികൾ ജനത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരു പുതിയ വീടു പണിയിച്ചു ഗൃഹപ്രവേശം കഴിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവൻ പടയിൽ പട്ടുപോകയും മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ ഗൃഹപ്രവേശം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കെണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ.

And what man is he that has planted a vineyard, and has not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it.ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കി അതിന്റെ ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവൻ പടയിൽ പട്ടുപോകയും മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ അതിന്റെ ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ.

And what man is there that has betrothed a wife, and has not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവഹാത്തിന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ചു അവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ പടയിൽ പട്ടുപോകയും മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ അവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ.

And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren's heart faint as well as his heart.പ്രമാണികൾ പിന്നെയും ജനത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: ആർക്കെങ്കിലും ഭയവും അധൈര്യവും ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവൻ തന്റെ ഹൃദയംപോലെ സഹേദരന്റെ ഹൃദയവും ധൈര്യം കൊടുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ.

And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people.ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രമാണികൾ ജനത്തോടു പറങ്ഞു തീർന്നശേഷം അവർ സൈന്യാധിപന്മാരെ സേനാമുഖത്തു ആക്കേണം.

When you come nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.നീ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്‍വാൻ അടുത്തുചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ സമാധാനം വിളിച്ചു പറയേണം.

And it shall be, if it make you answer of peace, and open unto you, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto you, and they shall serve you.സമാധാനം എന്നു മറുപടി പറങ്ഞു വാതിൽ തുറന്നുതന്നാൽ അതിലുള്ള ജനം എല്ലാം നിനക്കു ഊഴിയവെലക്കാരായി സേവചെയ്യേണം.

And if it will make no peace with you, but will make war against you, then you shall besiege it:എന്നാൽ അതു നിന്നോടു സമാധാനമാകാതെ യുദ്ധംചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനെ നിരോധിക്കേണം.

And when the LORD your God has delivered it into yours hands, you shall strike every male thereof with the edge of the sword:നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അതു നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചശേഷം അതിലുള്ള പുരുഷപ്രജയെ ഒക്കെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ കൊല്ലേണം.

But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shall you take unto yourself; and you shall eat the spoil of yours enemies, which the LORD your God has given you.എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീകളെയും കുട്ടികളെയും നാൽക്കാലികളെയും പട്ടണത്തിലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും അതിലെ കൊള്ളയൊക്കെയും നിനക്കായിട്ടു എടുത്തുകൊള്ളാം; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തന്നതായ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കൊള്ള നിനക്കു അനുഭവിക്കാം.

¹⁵

Thus shall you do unto all the cities which are very far off from you, which are not of the cities of these nations.ഈ ജാതികളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടാതെ വളരെ ദൂരമായിരിക്കുന്ന എല്ല പട്ടണങ്ങളോടും ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യേണം.

But of the cities of these people, which the LORD your God does give you for an inheritance, you shall keep alive nothing that breathes:നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലോ ശ്വാസമുള്ള ഒന്നിനെയും ജീവനോടെ വെക്കാതെ

But you shall utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD your God has commanded you:ഹിത്യർ, അമോർയ്യർ, പെരിസ്യർ, കനാന്യർ, ഹിവ്യർ, യെബൂസ്യർ എന്നിവരെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ശപഥാർപ്പിതമായി സംഹരിക്കേണം.

That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should all of you sin against the LORD your God.അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവ പൂജയിൽ ചെയ്തുപോരുന്ന സകലമ്ളേച്ഛതളും ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിങ്ങളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

When you shall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, you shall not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for you may eat of them, and you shall not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege:ഒരു പട്ടണം പിടിപ്പാൻ അതിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു വളരെക്കാലം നിരോധിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള വൃക്ഷങ്ങളെ കോടാലികൊണ്ടു വെട്ടി നശിപ്പിക്കരുതു; അവയുടെ ഫലം നിനക്കു തിന്നാവുന്നതാകയാൽ അവയെ വെട്ടിക്കളയരുതു; നീ പറമ്പിലെ വൃക്ഷത്തെ നിരോധിപ്പാൻ അതു മനുഷ്യനാകുന്നുവോ?

Only the trees which you know that they be not trees for food, you shall destroy and cut them down; and you shall build bulwarks against the city that makes war with you, until it be subdued.തിന്മാനുള്ള ഫലവൃകഷമല്ലെന്നു അറിയുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളെ മാത്രം വെട്ടിക്കളകയും നിന്നോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്ന പട്ടണം കീഴടങ്ങുംവരെ അതിന്റെ നേരെ കൊത്തളം പണികയും ചെയ്യാം.

Deuteronomy 21

If one be found slain in the land which the LORD your God gives you to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who has slain him:നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു വയലിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ കൊന്നിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണുകയും അവനെ കൊന്നവൻ ആരെന്നു അറിയാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും

Then your elders and your judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:ന്യായധിപതിമാരും പുറത്തു ചെന്നു കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവന്റെ ചുറ്റുമിരിക്കുന്ന അതതു പട്ടണംവരെയുള്ള ദൂരം അളക്കേണം.

And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which has not been wrought with, and which has not drawn in the yoke;കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവന്നു അധികം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാർ, വേല ചെയ്യിക്കാത്തതും നുകം വെക്കാത്തതുമായ ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവിനെ കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley:ആ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാർ ഉഴവും വിതയും ഇല്ലാത്തതും നിരൊഴുക്കുള്ളതുമായ ഒരു താഴ്വരയിൽ പശുക്കിടാവിനെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു പശുക്കിടാവിന്റെ കഴുത്തു ഒടിച്ചുകളയേണം.

And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD your God has chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:പിന്നെ ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ അടുത്തു ചെല്ലേണം; അവരെയല്ലോ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്‍വാനും യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പാനും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു; അവരുടെ വാക്കിൻ പ്രകാരം സകലവ്യവഹാരവും അടികലശലും തീർക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവന്നു അടുത്ത പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും താഴ്വരയിൽവെച്ചു കഴുത്തൊടിച്ച പശുക്കിടാവിന്മേൽ തങ്ങളുടെ കൈ കഴുകി:

And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈകൾ ആ രക്തം ചിന്നീട്ടില്ല, ഞങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണു അതു കണ്ടിട്ടുമില്ല.

Be merciful, O LORD, unto your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto your people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.യഹോവ, നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള നിന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ഇരിപ്പാൻ ഇടവരുത്തരുതേ എന്നു പറയേണം; എന്നാൽ ആ രക്തപാതകം അവരോടു മോചിക്കപ്പെടും.

So shall you put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when you shall do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവെക്കു ഹിതമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

When you go forth to war against yours enemies, and the LORD your God has delivered them into yours hands, and you have taken them captive,നീ ശത്രുക്കളോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്‍വാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കയും നീ അവരെ ബദ്ധന്മാരായി പിടിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ

And see among the captives a beautiful woman, and have a desire unto her, that you would have her to your wife;ആ ബദ്ധന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ സുന്ദരിയായൊരു സ്ത്രീയെ കണ്ടു ഭാര്യയായി എടുപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവളോടു പ്രേമം ജനിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ

Then you shall bring her home to yours house, and she shall shave her head, and trim her nails;നീ അവളെ വീട്ടിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം; അവൾ തലമുടി ചിരെക്കയും നഖം മുറിക്കയും ബദ്ധവസ്ത്രം മാറി

And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in yours house, and mourn for her father and her mother a full month: and after that you shall go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പാർത്തു ഒരു മാസം തന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും കുറിച്ചു ദുഃഖിക്കയും ചെയ്തശേഷം നീ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവൾക്കു ഭർത്താവായും അവൾ നിനക്കു ഭാര്യയായും ഇരിക്കേണം.

And it shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she will; but you shall not sell her at all for money, you shall not make merchandise of her, because you have humbled her.എന്നാൽ നിനക്കു അവളോടു ഇഷ്ടമില്ലാതെയായെങ്കിൽ അവളെ സ്വതന്ത്രയായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം; അവളെ ഒരിക്കലും വിലെക്കു വിൽക്കരുതു; നീ അവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവളോടു കാഠിന്യം പ്രവർത്തിക്കരുതു.

If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:ഒരുത്തി ഇഷ്ടയായും മറ്റവൾ അനിഷ്ടയായും ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരാൾക്കു രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയും അവർ ഇരുവരും അവന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെ പ്രസവിക്കയും ആദ്യജാതൻ അനിഷ്ടയുടെ മകൻ ആയിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ

Then it shall be, when he makes his sons to inherit that which he has, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:അവൻ തന്റെ സ്വത്തു പുത്രന്മാർക്കു ഭാഗിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ അനിഷ്ടയുടെ മകനായ ആദ്യജാതന്നു പകരം ഇഷ്ടയുടെ മകന്നു ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം കൊടുത്തുകൂടാ.

But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he has: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.തനിക്കുള്ള സകലത്തിലും രണ്ടു പങ്കു അനിഷ്ടയുടെ മകന്നു കൊടുത്തു അവനെ ആദ്യജാതനെന്നു സ്വീകരിക്കേണം; അവൻ അവന്റെ ബലത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭമല്ലോ; ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം അവന്നുള്ളതാകുന്നു.

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:അപ്പന്റെയോ അമ്മയുടെയോ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാതെയും അവർ ശാസിച്ചാലും അനുസരിക്കാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്ന ശഠനും മത്സരിയുമായ മകൻ ഒരുത്തന്നു ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ

Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;അമ്മയപ്പന്മാർ അവനെ പിടിച്ചു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി:

And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഈ മകൻ ശഠനും മത്സരിയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാത്തവനും തിന്നിയും കുടിയനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരോടു പറയേണം.

And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shall you put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.പിന്നെ അവന്റെ പട്ടണക്കാർ എല്ലാവരും അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞുകൊല്ലേണം. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം; യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം.

And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and you hang him on a tree:ഒരുത്തൻ മരണയോഗ്യമായ ഒരു പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നു ഒരു മരത്തിൽ തൂക്കിയാൽ,

His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but you shall in any way bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that your land be not defiled, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance.അവന്റെ ശവം മരത്തിന്മേൽ രാത്രിമുഴുവനും ഇരിക്കരുതു; അന്നുതന്നേ അതു കുഴിച്ചിടേണം; തൂങ്ങിമരിച്ചവൻ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ശാപഗ്രസ്തൻ ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം നീ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുതു.

Deuteronomy 22

You shall not see your brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide yourself from them: you shall in any case bring them again unto your brother.സഹോദരന്റെ കാളയോ ആടോ തെറ്റി ഉഴലുന്നതു നീ കണ്ടാൽ അതിനെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയാതെ സഹോദരന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കേണം.

And if your brother be not nigh unto you, or if you know him not, then you shall bring it unto yours own house, and it shall be with you until your brother seek after it, and you shall restore it to him again.സഹോദരൻ നിനക്കു സമീപസ്ഥനല്ല, നീ അവനെ അറികയുമില്ല എന്നുവരികിൽ അതിനെ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം; സഹോദരൻ അതിനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു വരുംവരെ അതു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഇരിക്കേണം; പിന്നെ അവന്നു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണം.

In like manner shall you do with his ass; and so shall you do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of your brother's, which he has lost, and you have found, shall you do likewise: you may not hide yourself.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ അവന്റെ കഴുതയുടെയും വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെയും സഹോദരന്റെ പക്കൽനിന്നു കാണാതെ പോയിട്ടു നീ കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഏതൊരു വസ്തുവിന്റെയും കാര്യത്തിൽ ചെയ്യേണം; നീ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയേണ്ടതല്ല.

You shall not see your brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely help him to lift them up again.സഹോദരന്റെ കഴുതയോ കാളയോ വഴിയിൽ വീണുകിടക്കുന്നതു നീ കണ്ടാൽ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയാതെ അതിനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിപ്പാൻ അവനെ സഹായിക്കേണം.

The woman shall not wear that which pertains unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD your God.പുരുഷന്റെ വസ്ത്രം സ്ത്രീയും സ്ത്രീയുടൈ വസ്ത്രം പുരുഷനും ധരിക്കരുതു; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നവരൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു.

If a bird's nest chance to be before you in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, you shall not take the dam with the young:മരത്തിന്മേലെങ്കിലും നിലത്തെങ്കിലും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോ മുട്ടകളോ ഉള്ള ഒരു പക്ഷിക്കൂടു നീ വഴിയിൽവെച്ചു കണ്ടാൽ തള്ള കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിന്മേലോ മുട്ടകളിന്മേലോ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നീ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ തള്ളയെ പിടിക്കരുതു.

But you shall in any way let the dam go, and take the young to you; that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിപ്പാനും ദീർഘായുസ്സുണ്ടാകുവാനും തള്ളയെ വിട്ടുകളയേണം; കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ എടുത്തുകൊള്ളാം.

When you build a new house, then you shall make a battlement for your roof, that you bring not blood upon yours house, if any man fall from thence.ഒരു പുതിയ വീടു പണിതാൽ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്മുകളിൽനിന്നു വല്ലവനും വീണിട്ടു വീട്ടിന്മേൽ രക്തപാതകം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അതിന്നു കൈമതിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കേണം.

You shall not sow your vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of your seed which you have sown, and the fruit of your vineyard, be defiled.നിന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിൽ വേറൊരു വക വിത്തും ഇടരുതു; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താൽ നീ ഇട്ട വിത്തിന്റെ വിളവും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ അനുഭവവും വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരംവകെക്കു ചേർന്നുപോകും.

You shall not plow with an ox and an ass together.കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും ഒന്നിച്ചു പൂട്ടി ഉഴരുതു.

You shall not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woolen and linen together.ആട്ടുരോമവും ചണയും കൂടിക്കലർന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കരുതു.

You shall make you fringes upon the four quarters of your vesture, wherewith you cover yourself.നീ പുതെക്കുന്ന മേലാടയുടെ നാലു കോണിലും പൊടിപ്പുണ്ടാക്കേണം.

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നശേഷം അവളെ വെറുത്തു:

And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ത്രീയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നാറെ അവളിൽ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവളുടെ മേൽ നാണക്കേടു ചുമത്തി അപവാദം പറഞ്ഞുണ്ടാക്കിയാൽ

Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:യുവതിയുടെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാർ അവളുടെ കന്യകാലക്ഷണങ്ങളെടുത്തു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hates her;യുവതിയുടെ അപ്പൻ മൂപ്പന്മാരോടു: ഞാൻ എന്റെ മകളെ ഈ പുരുഷന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു; എന്നാൽ അവന്നു അവളോടു അനിഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

And, lo, he has given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not your daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മകളിൽ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവളുടെമേൽ നാണക്കേടു ചുമത്തുന്നു; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ മകളുടെ കന്യകാലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ഇതാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ ആ വസ്ത്രം വിടർക്കേണം.

And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;അപ്പോൾ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാർ ആ പുരുഷനെ പിടിച്ചു ശിക്ഷിക്കേണം.

And they shall fine him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he has brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു കന്യകയുടെമേൽ അപവാദം പറഞ്ഞുണ്ടാക്കിയതിനാൽ അവർ അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശു പിഴ ചെയ്യിച്ചു യുവതിയുടെ അപ്പന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം; അവൾ അവന്നു തന്നേ ഭാര്യയായിരിക്കേണം; അവന്നു തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകൂടാ.

But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:എന്നാൽ യുവതിയിൽ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല എന്നുള്ള വാക്കു സത്യം ആയിരുന്നാൽ

Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she has wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shall you put evil away from among you.അവർ യുവതിയെ അവളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവൾ യിസ്രായേലിൽ വഷളത്വം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിൽവെച്ചു വേശ്യാദോഷം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു അവളുടെ പട്ടണക്കാർ അവളെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shall you put away evil from Israel.ഒരു പുരുഷന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ ഒരുത്തൻ ശയിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടാൽ സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ച പുരുഷനും സ്ത്രീയും ഇരുവരും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന കന്യകയായ ഒരു യുവതിയെ ഒരുത്തൻ പട്ടണത്തിൽവെച്ചു കണ്ടു അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചാൽ

Then all of you shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and all of you shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbour's wife: so you shall put away evil from among you.യുവതി പട്ടണത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നിട്ടും നിലവിളിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടും പുരുഷൻ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യക്കു പോരായ്ക വരുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ ഇരുവരെയും പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die.എന്നാൽ വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു യുവതിയെ ഒരുത്തൻ വയലിൽ വെച്ചു കണ്ടു ബലാൽക്കാരംചെയ്തു അവളോടു കൂടെ ശയിച്ചാൽ പുരുഷൻ മാത്രം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

But unto the damsel you shall do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man rises against his neighbour, and slays him, even so is this matter:യുവതിയോടോ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യരുതു; അവൾക്കു മരണയോഗ്യമായ പാപമില്ല. ഒരുത്തൻ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ നേരെ കയർത്തു അവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നതുപോലെയത്രേ ഈ കാര്യം.

For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.വയലിൽവെച്ചല്ലോ അവൻ അവളെ കണ്ടെത്തിയതു; യുവതി നിലവിളിച്ചാലും അവളെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആൾ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിയാത്ത കന്യകയായ ഒരു യുവതിയെ ഒരുത്തൻ കണ്ടു അവളെ പിടിച്ചു അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്കയും അവരെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ

Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he has humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ച പുരുഷൻ യുവതിയുടെ അപ്പന്നു അമ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കൊടുക്കേണം; അവൾ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയാകയും വേണം. അവൻ അവൾക്കു പോരായ്കവരുത്തിയല്ലോ; അവന്നു തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകൂടാ.

A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.അപ്പന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ആരും പരിഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു; അപ്പന്റെ വസ്ത്രം നീക്കുകയും അരുതു.

Deuteronomy 23

He that is wounded in the stones, or has his private parts cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.ഷണ്ഡനോ ഛിന്നലിംഗനോ യഹോവയുടെ സഭയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുതു.

A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.കൌലടേയൻ യഹോവയുടെ സഭയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുതു; അവന്റെ പത്താം തലമുറപോലും യഹോവയുടെ സഭയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുതു.

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:ഒരു അമ്മോന്യനോ മോവാബ്യനോ യഹോവയുടെ സഭയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുതു; അവരുടെ പത്താം തലമുറപോലും ഒരു നാളും യഹോവയുടെ സഭയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുതു.

Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when all of you came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.നിങ്ങൾ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു വരുമ്പോൾ അവർ അപ്പവും വെള്ളവുംകൊണ്ടു വഴിയിൽ നിങ്ങളെ വന്നെതിരേൽക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടും നിന്നെ ശപിപ്പാൻ അവർ മെസൊപൊത്താമ്യയിലെ പെഥോരിൽനിന്നു ബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാമിനെ നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂലിക്കു വിളിപ്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ.

Nevertheless the LORD your God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing unto you, because the LORD your God loved you.എന്നാൽ ബിലെയാമിന്നു ചെവികൊടുപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ശാപം നിനക്കു അനുഗ്രഹമാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.

You shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days for ever.ആകയാൽ നിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും അവരുടെ സമാധാനത്തിന്നും ഗുണത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടി ചിന്തിക്കരുതു.

You shall not detest an Edomite; for he is your brother: you shall not detest an Egyptian; because you were a stranger in his land.ഏദോമ്യനെ വെറുക്കരുതു; അവൻ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനല്ലോ. മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ വെറുക്കരുതു; നീ അവന്റെ ദേശത്തു പരദേശി ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.മൂന്നാം തലമുറയായി അവർക്കു ജനിക്കുന്ന മക്കൾക്കു യഹോവയുടെ സഭയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാം.

When the host goes forth against yours enemies, then keep you from every wicked thing.ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു നേരെ പാളയമിറങ്ങുമ്പോൾ കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത കാര്യമൊന്നും ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ നീ സൂക്ഷികൊള്ളേണം.

If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chances him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:രാത്രിയിൽ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യത്താൽ അശുദ്ധനായ്തീർന്ന ഒരുത്തൻ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാൽ അവൻ പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തുപോകേണം; പാളയത്തിന്നകത്തു വരരുതു.

But it shall be, when evening comes on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.സന്ധ്യയാകുമ്പോൾ അവൻ വെള്ളത്തിൽ കുളിക്കേണം; സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചിട്ടു അവന്നു പാളയത്തിന്നകത്തു വരാം.

You shall have a place also without the camp, where you shall go forth abroad:ബാഹ്യത്തിന്നു പോകുവാൻ നിനക്കു ഒരു സ്ഥലം പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം.

And you shall have a paddle upon your weapon; and it shall be, when you will ease yourself abroad, you shall dig therewith, and shall turn back and cover that which comes from you:നിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഒരു പാരയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം; ബാഹ്യത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിനാൽ കുഴിച്ചു നിന്റെ വിസർജ്ജനം മൂടിക്കളയേണം.

For the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up yours enemies before you; therefore shall your camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in you, and turn away from you.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാനും ശത്രുക്കളെ നിനക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുതരുവാനും നിന്റെ പാളയത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നടക്കുന്നു; നിങ്കൽ വൃത്തികേടു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവൻ നിന്നെ വിട്ടകലാതിരിപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ പാളയം ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.

You shall not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto you:യജമാനനെ വിട്ടു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ശരണം പ്രാപിപ്പാൻ വന്ന ദാസനെ യജമാനന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കരുതു.

He shall dwell with you, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of your gates, where it likes him best: you shall not oppress him.അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഏതിലെങ്കിലും തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചേടത്തു നിന്നോടു കൂടെ പാർക്കട്ടെ; അവനെ ഞെരുക്കം ചെയ്യരുതു.

There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.യിസ്രായേൽപുത്രിമാരിൽ ഒരു വേശ്യ ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യിസ്രായേൽപുത്രന്മാരിൽ പുരുഷ മൈഥുനക്കാരനും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

You shall not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD your God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD your God.വേശ്യയുടെ കൂലിയും നായുടെ വിലയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു യാതൊരു നേർച്ചയായിട്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരരുതു; ഇവ രണ്ടും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു അറെപ്പാകുന്നു.

You shall not lend upon interest to your brother; interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of any thing that is lent upon interest:പണത്തിന്നോ, ആഹാരത്തിന്നോ, വായിപ്പ കൊടുക്കുന്ന യാതൊരു വസ്തുവിന്നോ സഹോദരനോടു പലിശ വാങ്ങരുതു.

Unto a stranger you may lend upon interest; but unto your brother you shall not lend upon interest: that the LORD your God may bless you in all that you set yours hand to in the land where you go to possess it.അന്യനോടു പലിശ വാങ്ങാം; എന്നാൽ നീ കൈവശമാക്കുവാൻ ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തു നീ തൊടുന്നതിലൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സഹോദരനോടു പലിശ വാങ്ങരുതു.

When you shall vow a vow unto the LORD your God, you shall not slack to pay it: for the LORD your God will surely require it of you; and it would be sin in you.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു നേർച്ച നേർന്നാൽ അതു നിവർത്തിപ്പാൻ താമസം വരുത്തരുതു; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും; അതു നിങ്കൽ പാപമായിരിക്കും.

But if you shall forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in you.നേരാതിരിക്കുന്നതു പാപം ആകയില്ല.

That which is gone out of your lips you shall keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as you have vowed unto the LORD your God, which you have promised with your mouth.നിന്റെ നാവിന്മേൽനിന്നു വീണതു നിവർത്തിക്കയും വായ് കൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞ സ്വമേധാദാനം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു നേർന്നതുപോലെ നിവർത്തിക്കയും വേണം.

When you come into your neighbour's vineyard, then you may eat grapes your fill at yours own pleasure; but you shall not put any in your vessel.കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലൂടെ പോകുമ്പോൾ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം തൃപ്തിയാംവണ്ണം നിനക്കു തിന്നാം; എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ പാത്രത്തിൽ ഇടരുതു.

When you come into the standing corn of your neighbour, then you may pluck the ears with yours hand; but you shall not move a sickle unto your neighbour's standing corn.കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ വിളഭൂമിയിൽകൂടി പോകുമ്പോൾ നിനക്കു കൈകൊണ്ടു കതിർ പറിക്കാം; എങ്കിലും കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ വിളവിൽ അരിവാൾ വെക്കരുതു.
