At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.ആ കാലത്തു യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ മകനായ അബീയാവു ദീനം പിടിച്ചു കിടപ്പിലായി.

And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray you, and disguise yourself, that you be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get you to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.യൊരോബെയാം തന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടു: നീ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യ എന്നു ആരും അറിയാതവണ്ണം വേഷംമാറി ശീലോവിലേക്കു, പോകേണം; ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ഞാൻ രാജാവാകും എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ അഹീയാപ്രവാചകൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

And take with you ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell you what shall become of the child.നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ പത്തു അപ്പവും കുറെ അടകളും ഒരു തുരുത്തി തേനും എടുത്തു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുക. കുട്ടിയുടെ കാര്യം എന്താകും എന്നു അവൻ നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു; അവൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ശീലോവിൽ അഹീയാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു; എന്നാൽ അഹീയാവിന്നു വാർദ്ധക്യം നിമിത്തം കണ്ണു മങ്ങിയിരിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു കാണ്മാൻ വഹിയാതെയിരുന്നു.

And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam comes to ask a thing of you for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shall you say unto her: for it shall be, when she comes in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.എന്നാൽ യഹോവ അഹീയാവോടു: യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യ തന്റെ മകനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിന്നോടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ വരുന്നു; അവൻ ദീനമായി കിടക്കുന്നു; നീ അവളോടു ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം സംസാരിക്കേണം; അവൾ അകത്തു വരുമ്പോൾ അന്യസ്ത്രീയുടെ ഭാവം നടിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, you wife of Jeroboam; why feign you yourself to be another? for I am sent to you with heavy tidings.അവൾ വാതിൽ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ അവളുടെ കാലൊച്ച അഹിയാവു കേട്ടിട്ടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നൽ: യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യയേ, അകത്തു വരിക; നീ ഒരു അന്യസ്ത്രീ എന്നു നടിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? കഠിനവർത്തമാനം നിന്നെ അറിയിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു നിയോഗം ഉണ്ടു.

Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted you from among the people, and made you prince over my people Israel,നീ ചെന്നു യൊരോബെയാമിനോടു പറയേണ്ടുന്നതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു നിന്നെ ഉയർത്തി, എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവാക്കി.

And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it you: and yet you have not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;രാജത്വം ദാവീദ് ഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്നു കീറിയെടുത്തു നിനക്കുതന്നു; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കയും എനിക്കു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു മാത്രം ചെയ്‍വാൻ പൂർണ്ണമനസ്സോടുകൂടെ എന്നെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്ത എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ നീ ഇരിക്കാതെ

But have done evil above all that were before you: for you have gone and made you other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back:നിനക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം ചെയ്തു; എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ചെന്നു നിനക്കു അന്യദേവന്മാരെയും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി എന്നെ നിന്റെ പുറകിൽ എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞു.

Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisses against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man takes away dung, till it be all gone.അതു കൊണ്ടു ഇതാ, ഞാൻ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു അനർത്ഥം വരുത്തി, യൊരോബെയാമിന്നുള്ള സ്വതന്ത്രനും അസ്വതന്ത്രനും ആയ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ ഒക്കെയും യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിക്കയും കാഷ്ഠം കോരിക്കളയുന്നതു പോലെ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹം തീരെ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകുംവരെ അതിനെ കോരിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യും.

Him that dies of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dies in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for the LORD has spoken it.യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ സന്തതിയിൽ പട്ടണത്തിൽവെച്ചു മരിക്കുന്നവനെ നായ്ക്കൾ തിന്നും; വയലിൽ വെച്ചു മരിക്കുന്നവനെ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾ തിന്നും; യഹോവ അതു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

Arise you therefore, get you to yours own house: and when your feet enter into the city, the child shall die.ആകയാൽ നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോക; നിന്റെ കാൽ പട്ടണത്തിന്നകത്തു ചവിട്ടുമ്പോൾ കുട്ടി മരിച്ചു പോകും.

And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിച്ചു അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യും; യെരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിൽവെച്ചു അവനിൽമാത്രം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു പ്രസാദമുള്ള കാര്യം അല്പം കാണുകയാൽ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ സന്തതിയിൽ അവനെ മാത്രം കല്ലറയിൽ അടക്കം ചെയ്യും.

Moreover the LORD shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.യഹോവ തനിക്കു യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു രാജാവിനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും; അവൻ അന്നു യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും; എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നേ എന്തു?

For the LORD shall strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.യിസ്രായേൽ അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി യഹോയെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ഓട വെള്ളത്തിൽ ആടുന്നതുപോലെ അവർ ആടത്തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവ അവരെ ആടിച്ചു അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു താൻ കൊടുത്ത ഈ നല്ല ദേശത്തുനിന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനെ പറിച്ചെടുത്തു നദിക്കക്കരെ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയും.

And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.പാപം ചെയ്കയും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപം ചെയ്യിക്കയും ചെയ്ത യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ പാപംനിമിത്തം അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളയും.

And Jeroboam's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;എന്നാറെ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഭാര്യ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തിർസ്സയിൽവന്നു; അവൾ അരമനയുടെ ഉമ്മരപ്പടി കടക്കുമ്പോൾ കുട്ടി മരിച്ചു.

And they buried him; and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by the hand of his servant Ahijah the prophet.യഹോവ തന്റെ ദാസനായ അഹീയാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം അവർ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപം കഴിച്ചു.

And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.യൊരോബെയാം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തതും രാജ്യം വാണതുമായ അവന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his position.യൊരോബെയാം വാണകാലം ഇരുപത്തുരണ്ടു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ മകനായ നാദാബ് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.ശലോമോന്റെ മകനായ രെഹബെയാം യെഹൂദയിൽ വാണു. രെഹബെയാം വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവന്നു നാല്പത്തൊന്നു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിലും നിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത നഗരമായ യെരൂശലേമിൽ അവൻ പതിനേഴു സംവത്സരം വാണു. അമ്മോന്യസ്ത്രീയായ അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു നയമാ എന്നുപേർ.

And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.യെഹൂദാ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; അവർ ചെയ്ത പാപങ്ങൾകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ചെയ്തതിനെക്കാൾ അധികം അവനെ ക്രുദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു.

For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.എങ്ങനെയെന്നാൽ അവർ ഉയർന്ന കുന്നിന്മേലൊക്കെയും പച്ചമരത്തിൻ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും പൂജാഗിരികളും സ്തംഭവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാരും ദേശത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ ജാതികളുടെ സകലമ്ളേച്ഛതളും അവർ അനുകരിച്ചു.

And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem:എന്നാൽ രെഹബെയാംരാജാവിന്റെ അഞ്ചാം ആണ്ടിൽ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ശീശക്ക് യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു,

And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരവും രാജധാനയിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരവും എല്ലാം കവർന്നു; അവൻ ആസകലം കവർന്നു; ശലോമോൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ പൊൻ പരിചകളും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.

And king Rehoboam made in their position brazen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king's house.ഇവെക്കു പകരം രെഹബെയാംരാജാവു താമ്രം കൊണ്ടു പരിചകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കി രാജധാനിയുടെ വാതിൽ കാക്കുന്ന അകമ്പടിനായകന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.രാജാവു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ അകമ്പടികൾ അവയെ ധരിക്കയും പിന്നെ അകമ്പടികളുടെ അറയിൽ തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു വെക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?രെഹബെയാമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ?

And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days.രെഹബെയാമിന്നും യൊരോബെയാമിന്നും തമ്മിൽ ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his position.രെഹെബെയാം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. അമ്മോന്യസ്ത്രീയായ അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു നയമാ എന്നു പേർ. അവന്റെ മകനായ അബീയാം അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം രാജാവിന്റെ പതിനെട്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ അബിയാം യെഹൂദയിൽ വാണുതുടങ്ങി.

Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. and his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.അവൻ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേർ; അവൾ അബീശാലോമിന്റെ മകൾ ആയിരുന്നു.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.തന്റെ അപ്പൻ മുമ്പെ ചെയ്തിരുന്ന സകലപാപങ്ങളിലും അവൻ നടന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഹൃദയംപോലെ അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നില്ല.

Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:എങ്കിലും ദാവീദിൻ നിമിത്തം അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവന്റെ മകനെ അവന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി ഉയർത്തിയും യെരൂശലേമിനെ നിലനിർത്തിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒരു ദീപം നല്കി.

Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.ദാവീദ് യഹോവെക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; ഹിത്യനായ ഊരീയാവിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ അവൻ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതിൽ ഒന്നും തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും വിട്ടുമാറീട്ടില്ല.

And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.രെഹബെയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മിൽ ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.അബീയാമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. അബീയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മിലും യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his position.അബിയാം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവർ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ആസാ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടിൽ ആസാ യെഹൂദയിൽ രാജാവായി.

And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.അവൻ നാല്പത്തൊന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേർ; അവൾ അബിശാലോമിന്റെ മകൾ ആയിരുന്നു.

And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ യഹോവെക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.അവൻ പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാരെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി, തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന സകലവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.തന്റെ അമ്മയായ മയഖ അശേരെക്കു ഒരു മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവളെ രാജ്ഞിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ആസാ അവളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം വെട്ടിമുറിച്ചു കിദ്രോൻ തോട്ടിന്നരികെവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.എന്നാൽ പൂജാഗിരികൾക്കു നീക്കംവന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും ആസയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവയിങ്കൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നു.

And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ എന്നിങ്ങനെ തന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിവേദിച്ചതും താൻ തന്നേ നിവേദിച്ചതുമായ വസ്തുക്കളെ അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.ആസയും യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ബയെശയും തമ്മിൽ ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.ആസയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള സകല വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ സകലപരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവൻ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ പണിതതും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ വാർദ്ധക്യകാലത്തു അവന്റെ കാലുകൾക്കു ദീനംപിടിച്ചു.

And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha stroke him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.എന്നാൽ യിസ്സാഖാർഗോത്രക്കാരനായ അഹിയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ അവന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി; ഫെലിസ്ത്യർക്കുള്ള ഗിബ്ബെഥോനിൽവെച്ചു അവനെ കൊന്നു; നാദാബും എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലും ഗിബ്ബെഥോനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവായി തിർസ്സയിൽ ഇരുപത്തുനാലു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,ബയെശകൂ വിരോധമായി ഹനാനിയുടെ മകൻ യേഹൂവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.ഇതാ ഞാൻ ബയെശയെയും അവന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെയും അശേഷം അടിച്ചുവാരിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെ ആക്കും.

In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ ഇരുപത്താറാം ആണ്ടിൽ ബയെശയുടെ മകൻ ഏലാ യിസ്രായേലിൽ രാജാവായി തിർസ്സയിൽ രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ ഇരുപത്തേഴാം ആണ്ടിൽ സിമ്രി തിർസ്സയിൽ ഏഴു ദിവസം രാജാവായിരുന്നു; അന്നു പടജ്ജനം ഫെലിസ്ത്യർക്കുള്ള ഗിബ്ബെഥോൻ നിരോധിച്ചിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.അന്നു യിസ്രായേൽ ജനം രണ്ടു ഭാഗമായി പിരിഞ്ഞു; പാതി ജനം ഗീനത്തിന്റെ മകനായ തിബ്നിയെ രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്നു; പാതി ജനം ഒമ്രിയുടെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്നു.

And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.ഒമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ ആഹാബ് തനിക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെക്കാളും അധികം യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളിൽ നടക്കുന്നതു പോരാ എന്നു തോന്നുമാറു അവൻ സീദോന്യരാജാവായ എത്ത്-ബാലിന്റെ മകളായ ഈസേബെലിനെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിക്കയും ബാലിനെ ചെന്നു സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.താൻ ശമര്യയിൽ പണിത ബാലിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ അവൻ ബാലിന്നു ഒരു ബലിപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.ആഹാബ് ഒരു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അങ്ങനെ ആഹാബ് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം തനിക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.അവന്റെ കാലത്തു ബേഥേല്യനായ ഹീയേൽ യെരീഹോ പണിതു; യഹോവ നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടപ്പോൾ അവന്നു അബീറാം എന്ന മൂത്തമകനും അതിന്റെ പടിവാതിൽ വെച്ചപ്പോൾ ശെഗൂബു എന്ന ഇളയമകനും നഷ്ടംവന്നു.

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.എന്നാൽ ഗിലെയാദിലെ തിശ്ബിയിൽനിന്നുള്ള തിശ്ബ്യനായ ഏലീയാവു അഹാബിനോടു: ഞാൻ സേവിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയാണ, ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞല്ലാതെ ഈയാണ്ടുകളിൽ മഞ്ഞും മഴയും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,പിന്നെ അവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Get you behind, and turn you eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.നീ ഇവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു കിഴക്കോട്ടു ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള കെരീത്ത് തോട്ടിന്നരികെ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്ക.

And it shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.തോട്ടിൽനിന്നു നീ കുടിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം; അവിടെ നിനക്കു ഭക്ഷണം തരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ കാക്കയോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പോയി യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തു; അവൻ ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള കെരീത്ത് തോട്ടിന്നരികെ പാർത്തു.

And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.കാക്ക അവന്നു രാവിലെ അപ്പവും ഇറച്ചിയും വൈകുന്നേരത്തു അപ്പവും ഇറച്ചിയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും; തോട്ടിൽനിന്നു അവൻ കുടിക്കും.

And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.എന്നാൽ ദേശത്തു മഴ പെയ്യായ്കയാൽ കുറെ ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം തോടു വറ്റിപ്പോയി.

And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,അപ്പോൾ അവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you.നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു സീദോനോടു ചേർന്ന സാരെഫാത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അവിടെ പാർക്ക; നിന്നെ പുലർത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ ഉള്ള ഒരു വിധവയോടു ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray you, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.അങ്ങനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു സാരെഫാത്തിന്നു പോയി. അവൻ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവിടെ ഒരു വിധവ വിറകു പെറുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവൻ അവളെ വിളിച്ചു: എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ ഒരു പാത്രത്തിൽ കുറെ വെള്ളം കൊണ്ടുവരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray you, a morsel of bread in yours hand.അവൾ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പവും കൂടെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോരേണമേ എന്നു അവൻ അവളോടു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

And she said, As the LORD your God lives, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.അതിന്നു അവൾ: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയാണ, കലത്തിൽ ഒരു പിടി മാവും തുരുത്തിയിൽ അല്പം എണ്ണയും മാത്രമല്ലാതെ എനിക്കു ഒരു അപ്പവും ഇല്ല. ഞാൻ ഇതാ, രണ്ടു വിറകു പെറുക്കുന്നു; ഇതു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു എനിക്കും മകന്നും വേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കി അതു ഞങ്ങൾ തിന്നിട്ടു മരിപ്പാനിരിക്കയാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as you have said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for you and for your son.ഏലീയാവു അവളോടു: ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ചെന്നു നീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ചെയ്ക; എന്നാൽ ആദ്യം എനിക്കു ചെറിയോരു അട ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊണ്ടുവരിക; പിന്നെ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ മകന്നും വേണ്ടി ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊൾക.

For thus says the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.യഹോവ ഭൂമിയിൽ മഴ പെയ്യിക്കുന്ന നാൾവരെ കലത്തിലെ മാവു തീർന്നുപോകയില്ല; ഭരണിയിലെ എണ്ണ കുറഞ്ഞുപോകയും ഇല്ല എന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.അവൾ ചെന്നു ഏലീയാവു പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു; അങ്ങനെ അവളും അവനും അവളുടെ വീട്ടുകാരും ഏറിയനാൾ അഹോവൃത്തികഴിച്ചു.

And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Elijah.യഹോവ ഏലീയാവുമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചന പ്രകാരം കലത്തിലെ മാവു തീർന്നുപോയില്ല, ഭരണിയിലെ എണ്ണ കുറഞ്ഞുപോയതുമില്ല.

And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.അനന്തരം വീട്ടുടമക്കാരത്തിയായ സ്ത്രീയുടെ മകൻ ദീനം പിടിച്ചു കിടപ്പിലായി; ദീനം കടുത്തിട്ടു അവനിൽ ശ്വാസം ഇല്ലാതെയായി.

And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with you, O you man of God? are you come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?അപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഏലീയാവോടു: അയ്യോ ദൈവപുരുഷനേ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? എന്റെ പാപം ഓർപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും എന്റെ മകനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നും ആകുന്നുവോ നീ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto her, Give me your son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into an upper room, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.അവൻ അവളോടു: നിന്റെ മകനെ ഇങ്ങു തരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവനെ അവളുടെ മടിയിൽനിന്നെടുത്തു താൻ പാർത്തിരുന്ന മാളികമുറിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു തന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ കിടത്തി.

And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, have you also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?അവൻ യഹോവയോടു: എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ വന്നു പാർക്കുന്ന ഇവിടത്തെ വിധവയുടെ മകനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം നീ അവൾക്കു അനർത്ഥം വരുത്തിയോ എന്നു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray you, let this child's soul come into him again.പിന്നെ അവൻ കുട്ടിയുടെ മേൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം കവിണ്ണുകിടന്നു: എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഈ കുട്ടിയുടെ പ്രാണൻ അവനിൽ മടങ്ങിവരുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.യഹോവ ഏലീയാവിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേട്ടു; കുട്ടിയുടെ പ്രാണൻ അവനിൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവൻ ജീവിച്ചു.

And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, your son lives.ഏലീയാവു കുട്ടിയെ എടുത്തു മാളികയിൽനിന്നു താഴെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു കൊടുത്തു: ഇതാ, നിന്റെ മകൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഏലിയാവു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth.സ്ത്രീ ഏലീയാവോടു: നീ ദൈവപുരുഷൻ എന്നും നിന്റെ നാവിന്മേലുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ വചനം സത്യമെന്നും ഞാൻ ഇതിനാൽ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
