Proverbs 28
1
The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.ആരും ഓടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിർഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവർ മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീർഘമായി നില്ക്കുന്നു.

A poor man that oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which left no food.അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.

They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിർക്കുന്നു.

Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

Better is the poor that walks in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.തന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാൾ പരമാർത്ഥതയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ ഉത്തമൻ.

Whoso keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father.ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവൻ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകൻ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാർക്കു സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.

He that by interest and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.

He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേൾക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാൽ അവന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

Whoso causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവൻ താൻ കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയിൽ തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.

The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that has understanding searches him out.ധനവാൻ തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.നീതിമാന്മാർ ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഉയർന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകൾ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണലഭിക്കും.

Happy is the man that fears always: but he that hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനർത്ഥത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടും.

As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.അഗതികളിൽ കർത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടൻ ഗർജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യൻ.

The prince that wants understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hates covetousness shall prolong his days.ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീർഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

A man that does violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവൻ കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.

Whoso walks uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പിൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.

He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough.നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിൻചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be innocent.വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷൻ അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂർണ്ണൻ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യൻ അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.

He that hastes to be rich has an evil eye, and considers not that poverty shall come upon him.കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവൻ ധനവാനാകുവാൻ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവൻ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

He that rebukes a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flatters with the tongue.ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാൾ ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.

Whoso robs his father or his mother, and says, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവൻ നാശകന്റെ സഖി.

He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവൻ വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.

He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walks wisely, he shall be delivered.സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവൻ മൂഢൻ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

He that gives unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചൽ ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഉയർന്നുവരുമ്പോൾ ആളുകൾ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവർ നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാർ വർദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.
