Matthew 21

And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,അനന്തരം അവർ യെരൂശലേമിനോടു സമീപിച്ചു ഒലിവുമലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫഗയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ, യേശു രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അയച്ചു:

Saying unto them, Go into the village opposite to you, and immediately all of you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.“നിങ്ങൾക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുവിൻ; അവിടെ കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പെൺകഴുതയെയും അതിന്റെ കുട്ടിയെയും നിങ്ങൾ ഉടനെ കാണും; അവയെ അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ.

And if any man say ought unto you, all of you shall say, The Lord has need of them; and immediately he will send them.നിങ്ങളോടു ആരാനും വല്ലതും പറഞ്ഞാൽ: കർത്താവിന്നു ഇവയെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറവിൻ; തൽക്ഷണം അവൻ അവയെ അയയക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,“സീയോൻ പുത്രിയോടു: ഇതാ, നിന്റെ രാജാവു സൌമ്യനായി കഴുതപ്പുറത്തും വാഹനമൃഗത്തിന്റെ കുട്ടിയുടെ പുറത്തും കയറി നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു എന്നു പറവിൻ ”

Tell all of you the daughter of Sion, Behold, your King comes unto you, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിചെയ്തതിന്നു നിവൃത്തിവരുവാൻ ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചു.

And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,ശിഷ്യന്മാർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു,

And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.കഴുതയെയും കുട്ടിയെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം അവയുടെ മേൽ ഇട്ടു; അവൻ കയറി ഇരുന്നു.

And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and scattered them in the way.പുരുഷാരം മിക്കതും തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയിൽ വിരിച്ചു: മറ്റു ചിലർ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു കൊമ്പു വെട്ടി വഴിയിൽ വിതറി.

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.മുന്നും പിന്നും നടന്ന പുരുഷാരം: ദാവീദ് പുത്രന്നു ഹോശന്നാ; കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ; അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ ഹോശന്നാ എന്നു ആർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ കടന്നപ്പോൾ നഗരം മുഴുവനും ഇളകി: ഇവൻ ആർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.ഇവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായ യേശു എന്നു പുരുഷാരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,യേശു ദൈവലായത്തിൽ ചെന്നു, ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ വില്ക്കുന്നവരെയും കൊള്ളുന്നവരെയും എല്ലാം പുറത്താക്കി, പൊൻവാണിഭക്കാരുടെ മേശകളെയും പ്രാവുകളെ വില്ക്കുന്നവരുടെ പീഠങ്ങളെയും മറിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു അവരോടു:

And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but all of you have made it a den of thieves.“എന്റെ ആലയം പ്രാർത്ഥാനാലയം എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോ അതിനെ കള്ളന്മാരുടെ ഗുഹയാക്കിത്തിർക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.കുരുടന്മാരും മുടന്തന്മാരും ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; അവൻ അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.

And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,എന്നാൽ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവൻ ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെയും ദാവീദ് പുത്രന്നു ഹോശന്നാ എന്നു ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ആർക്കുന്ന ബാലന്മാരെയും കണ്ടിട്ടു നീരസപ്പെട്ടു;

And said unto him, Hear you what these say? And Jesus says unto them, Yea; have all of you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and infants you have perfected praise?ഇവൻ പറയുന്നതു കേൾക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു അവരോടു: “ഉവ്വു: ശിശുക്കളുടെയും മുലകുടിക്കുന്നവരുടെയും വായിൽ നിന്നു നീ പുകഴ്ച ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു നിങ്ങൾ ഒരിക്കലും വായിച്ചിട്ടല്ലയോ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.പിന്നെ അവരെ വിട്ടു നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബെഥാന്യയിൽ ചെന്നു അവിടെ രാത്രി പാർത്തു.

Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.രാവിലെ അവൻ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്ന സമയം വിശന്നിട്ടു വഴിയരികെ ഒരു അത്തിവൃക്ഷം കണ്ടു

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on you henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.അടുക്കെ ചെന്നു, അതിൽ ഇലയല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും കാണായ്കയാൽ: “ഇനി നിന്നിൽ ഒരുനാളും ഫലം ഉണ്ടാകാതെ പോകട്ടെ” എന്നു അതിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അത്തി ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അതു കണ്ടാറെ: അത്തി ഇത്ര ക്ഷണത്തിൽ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If all of you have faith, and doubt not, all of you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if all of you shall say unto this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; it shall be done.അതിന്നു യേശു: “നിങ്ങൾ സംശയിക്കാതെ വിശ്വാസം ഉള്ളവരായാൽ ഈ അത്തിയോടു ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങളും ചെയ്യും; എന്നു മാത്രമല്ല, ഈ മലയോടു: നീങ്ങി കടലിലേക്കു ചാടിപ്പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അതും സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

And all things, whatsoever all of you shall ask in prayer, believing, all of you shall receive.നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാർത്ഥനയിൽ എന്തു യാചിച്ചാലും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority do you these things? and who gave you this authority?അവൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: നീ എന്തു അധികാരം കൊണ്ടു ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു? ഈ അധികാരം നിനക്കു തന്നതു ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if all of you tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: “ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു വാക്കു ചോദിക്കും; അതു നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞാൽ എന്തു അധികാരം കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു പറയും.

The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did all of you not then believe him?യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം എവിടെ നിന്നു? സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നോ മനുഷ്യരിൽ നിന്നോ?” അവർ തമ്മിൽ ആലോചിച്ചു: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ, പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ നമ്മോടു ചോദിക്കും;

But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.മനുഷ്യരിൽ നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ, നാം പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും യോഹന്നാനെ പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നല്ലോ എണ്ണുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.അങ്ങനെ അവർ യേശുവിനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ഇതു എന്തു അധികാരംകൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നില്ല.”

But what think all of you? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ഒന്നാമത്തവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: മകനേ ഇന്നു എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിൽ പോയി വേല ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; എങ്കിലും പിന്നത്തേതിൽ അനുതപിച്ചു അവൻ പോയി.

And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.രണ്ടാമത്തെവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അവൻ ചെന്നു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ: ഞാൻ പോകാം അപ്പാ എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; പോയില്ലതാനും.

Whether of them two did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus says unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.ഈ രണ്ടുപേരിൽ ആർ ആകുന്നു അപ്പന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്തതു?” ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ചുങ്കക്കാരും വേശ്യമാരും നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പായി ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നു എന്നു സത്യമായിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and all of you believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and all of you, when all of you had seen it, repented not afterward, that all of you might believe him.യോഹന്നാൻ നീതിമാർഗ്ഗം ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല; എന്നാൽ ചുങ്കക്കാരും വേശ്യമാരും അവനെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അതു കണ്ടിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിശ്വസിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം പിന്നത്തേതിൽ അനുതപിച്ചില്ല.

Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:മറ്റൊരു ഉപമ കേൾപ്പിൻ. ഗൃഹസ്ഥനായോരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി, അതിന്നു വേലികെട്ടി, അതിൽ ചകൂ കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു ഗോപുരവും പണിതു; പിന്നെ കുടിയാന്മാരെ പാട്ടത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു പരദേശത്തുപോയി.

And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.ഫലകാലം സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ തനിക്കുള്ള അനുഭവം വാങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ദാസന്മാരെ കുടിയാന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.

And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.കുടിയാന്മാരോ അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചു, ഒരുവനെ തല്ലി, ഒരുവനെ കൊന്നു, മറ്റൊരുവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു.

Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.അവൻ പിന്നെയും മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും അധികം ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചു; അവരോടും അവർ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു.

³⁷

But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.ഒടുവിൽ അവൻ: എന്റെ മകനെ അവർ ശങ്കിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, മകനെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.

But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.മകനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു കുടിയാന്മാർ: ഇവൻ അവകാശി; വരുവിൻ, നാം അവനെ കൊന്നു അവന്റെ അവകാശം കൈവശമാക്കുക എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു,

And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.അവനെ പിടിച്ചു തോട്ടത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി കൊന്നു കളഞ്ഞു.

When the lord therefore of the vineyard comes, what will he do unto those husbandmen?ആകയാൽ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടയവൻ വരുമ്പോൾ ആ കുടിയാന്മാരോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും?”

They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.അവൻ ആ വല്ലാത്തവരെ വല്ലാതെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു തക്കസമയത്തു അനുഭവം കൊടുക്കുന്ന വേറെ കുടിയാന്മാർക്കു തോട്ടം ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു അവർ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus says unto them, Did all of you never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?യേശു അവരോടു: “വീടുപണിയുന്നവർ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞ കല്ലു മൂലക്കല്ലായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു കർത്താവിനാൽ സംഭവിച്ചു നമ്മുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ആശ്ചര്യവുമായിരിക്കുന്നു' എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിൽ ഒരിക്കലും വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നു എടുത്തു അതിന്റെ ഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്ന ജാതിക്കു കൊടുക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.ഈ കല്ലിന്മേൽ വീഴുന്നവൻ തകർന്നുപോകും; അതു ആരുടെ മേൽ എങ്കിലും വീണാൽ അവനെ ധൂളിപ്പിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them.അവന്റെ ഉപമകളെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശരും കേട്ടിട്ടു, തങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു പറയന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു,

But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.അവനെ പിടിപ്പാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നു എണ്ണുകകൊണ്ടു അവരെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

Matthew 22

And Jesus answered and spoke unto them again by parables, and said,യേശു പിന്നെയും അവരോടു ഉപമകളായി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,“സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി കല്യാണസദ്യ കഴിച്ച ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശം.

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.അവൻ കല്യാണത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാസന്മാരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവർക്കോ വരുവാൻ മനസ്സായില്ല.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.പിന്നെയും അവൻ മറ്റു ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: എന്റെ മുത്താഴം ഒരുക്കിത്തീർന്നു, എന്റെ കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും അറുത്തു, എല്ലാം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വരുവിൻ എന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചുവരോടു പറയിച്ചു.

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:അവർ അതു കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ ഒരുത്തൻ തന്റെ നിലത്തിലേക്കും മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ തന്റെ വ്യാപാരത്തിന്നും പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

And the remnant took his servants, and pleaded them spitefully, and slew them.ശേഷമുള്ളവർ അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചു അപമാനിച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

But when the king heard thereof, he was angry: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.രാജാവു കോപിച്ചു സൈന്യങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു ആ കുലപാതകന്മാരെ മുടിച്ചു അവരുടെ പട്ടണം ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

Then says he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.പിന്നെ അവൻ ദാസന്മാരോടു: കല്യാണം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ യോഗ്യരായില്ല.

Go all of you therefore into the highways, and as many as all of you shall find, bid to the marriage.ആകയാൽ വഴിത്തലെക്കൽ ചെന്നു കാണുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വിളിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guest.ആ ദാസന്മാർ പെരുവഴികളിൽ പോയി, കണ്ട ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെയും നല്ലവരെയും എല്ലാം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; കല്യാണശാല വിരുന്നുകാരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

And when the king came in to see the guest, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:വിരുന്നുകാരെ നോക്കുവാൻ രാജാവു അകത്തു വന്നപ്പോൾ കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കാത്ത ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അവിടെ കണ്ടു:

And he says unto him, Friend, how came you in here not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.സ്നേഹിതാ നീ കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ഇല്ലാതെ ഇവിടെ അകത്തു വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ അവന്നു വാക്കു മുട്ടിപ്പോയി.

Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.രാജാവു ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരോടു: ഇവനെ കയ്യും കാലും കെട്ടി ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുട്ടിൽ തള്ളിക്കളവിൻ; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

For many are called, but few are chosen.വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ അനേകർ; തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ചുരുക്കം.”

Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാർ ചെന്നു അവനെ വാക്കിൽ കുടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആലോചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth, neither care you for any man: for you regard not the person of men.തങ്ങളുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഹെരോദ്യരോടു കൂടെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു: ഗുരോ, നീ സത്യവാനും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി നേരായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുഖം നോക്കാത്തവൻ ആകയാൽ ആരെയും ശങ്കയില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു.

Tell us therefore, What think you? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? കൈസർക്കു കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt all of you me, all of you hypocrites?യേശു അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത അറിഞ്ഞു: “കപട ഭക്തിക്കാരേ, എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

Show me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.കരത്തിന്നുള്ള നാണയം കാണിപ്പിൻ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And he says unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?അവൻ അവരോടു: “ഈ സ്വരൂപവും മേലെഴുത്തും ആരുടേതു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചുതിന്നു കൈസരുടേതു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

They say unto him, Caesar's. Then says he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.“എന്നാൽ കൈസർക്കുള്ളതു കൈസർക്കും ദൈവത്തിനുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിൻ” എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.അവർ കേട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന സദൂക്യരും അന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു:

Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.ഗുരോ, ഒരുത്തൻ മക്കൾ ഇല്ലാതെ മരിച്ചാൽ അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ദേവരവിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു തന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു സന്തതിയെ ജനിപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:എന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരിൽ ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം മരിച്ചു, സന്തതി ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ സഹോദരന്നു വിട്ടേച്ചു.

Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും ഏഴാമത്തവൻ വരെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.

And last of all the woman died also.എല്ലാവരും കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഒടുവിൽ സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.എന്നാൽ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിൽ അവൾ ഏഴുവരിൽ ആർക്കു ഭാര്യയാകും? എാല്ലവർക്കും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Jesus answered and said unto them, All of you do go astray, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: “നിങ്ങൾ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെയും ദൈവശക്തിയെയും അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിൽ അവർ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നില്ല, വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൂതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അത്രേ ആകുന്നു.

But as concerning the resurrection of the dead, have all of you not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.ഞാൻ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ അരുളി ച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ദൈവമല്ല, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദൈവമത്രേ.”

But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.സദൂക്യരെ അവൻ മിണ്ടാതാക്കിയപ്രകാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു പരീശന്മാർ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടി,

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,അവരിൽ ഒരു വൈദികൻ അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു:

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?ഗുരോ, ന്യാപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഏതു കല്പന വലിയതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.യേശു അവനോടു: “നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ നീ പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണ്ണാത്മാവോടും പൂർണ്ണമനസ്സോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

This is the first and great commandment.ഇതാകുന്നു വലിയതും ഒന്നാമത്തേതുമായ കല്പന രണ്ടാമത്തേതു അതിനോടു സമം:

And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.ഈ രണ്ടു കല്പനകളിൽ സകലന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,പരീശന്മാർ ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യേശു അവരോടു:

Saying, What think all of you of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.“ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു?” അവൻ ആരുടെ പുത്രൻ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു”; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രൻ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

He says unto them, How then does David in spirit call him Lord, saying,അവൻ അവരോടു: “എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ് ആത്മാവിൽ അവനെ ‘കർത്താവു’ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?”

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit you on my right hand, till I make yours enemies your footstool?“ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദപീഠം ആക്കുവോളത്തിന്നു എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്ക എന്നു കർത്താവു എന്റെ കർത്താവിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു” എന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ. “ദാവീദ് അവനെ ‘കർത്താവു’ എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവന്റെ പുത്രൻ ആകുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറവാൻ ആർക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല;

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.അന്നുമുതൽ ആരും അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിപ്പാൻ തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

Matthew 23

Then spoke Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,അനന്തരം യേശു പുരുഷാരത്തോടും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടും പറഞ്ഞതു:

Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:“ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും മോശെയുടെ പീഠത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not all of you after their works: for they say, and do not.ആകയാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചു ചെയ്‍വിൻ; അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ പോലെ ചെയ്യരുതു താനും. അവർ പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.അവർ ഘനമുള്ള ചുമടുകളെ കെട്ടി മനുഷ്യരുടെ തോളിൽ വെക്കുന്നു; ഒരു വിരൽ കെണ്ടുപോലും അവയെ തൊടുവാൻ അവർക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

But all their works they do in order to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ എല്ലാം മനുഷ്യർ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു; തങ്ങളുടെ മന്ത്രപ്പട്ട വീതിയാക്കി തൊങ്ങൽ വലുതാക്കുന്നു.

And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,അത്താഴത്തിൽ പ്രധാനസ്ഥലവും പള്ളിയിൽ മുഖ്യാസനവും

And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.അങ്ങാടിയിൽ വന്ദനവും മനുഷ്യർ റബ്ബീ എന്നു വളിക്കുന്നതും അവർക്കു പ്രിയമാകുന്നു.

But be not all of you called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all you are brethren.നിങ്ങളോ റബ്ബീ എന്നു പേർ എടുക്കരുതു. ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു;

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.നിങ്ങളോ എല്ലാവരും സഹോദരന്മാർ. ഭൂമിയിൽ ആരെയും പിതാവു എന്നു വിളിക്കരുതു; ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥൻ തന്നേ.

Neither be all of you called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.നിങ്ങൾ നായകന്മാർ എന്നും പേർ എടുക്കരുതു, ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ നായകൻ, ക്രിസ്തു തന്നെ.

But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.നിങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരൻ ആകേണം.

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be brought low; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയർത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for all of you neither go in yourselves, neither suffer all of you them that are entering to go in.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യർക്കു സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ കടക്കുന്നില്ല, കടക്കുന്നവരെ കടപ്പാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല. (കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ വിധവമാരുടെ വീടുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങുകയും ഉപായരൂപേണ ദീർഘമായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇതു ഹേതുവായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു കടുമയേറിയ ശിക്ഷാവിധി വരും;)

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore all of you shall receive the greater damnation.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ ഒരുത്തനെ മതത്തിൽ ചേർക്കുവാൻ കടലും കരയും ചുറ്റി നടക്കുന്നു;

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, all of you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.ചേർന്നശേഷം അവനെ നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ഇരട്ടിച്ച നരകയോഗ്യൻ ആക്കുന്നു.

Woe unto you, all of you blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!ആരെങ്കിലും മന്ദിരത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ ഏതുമില്ല എന്നും മന്ദിരത്തിലെ സ്വർണ്ണത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ കടക്കാരൻ എന്നും പറയുന്ന കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികളേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം.

All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that santifies the gold?മൂഢന്മാരും കുരുടുന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ഏതു വലിയതു? സ്വർണ്ണമോ സ്വർണ്ണത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന മന്ദിരമോ?

And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever swears by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.യാഗപീഠത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ ഏതുമില്ല; അതിന്മേലുള്ള വഴിപാടു ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ കടക്കാരൻ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.

All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that santifies the gift?കുരുടന്മാരായുള്ളോരേ, ഏതു വലിയതു? വഴിപാടോ വഴിപാടിനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യാഗ പീഠമോ?

Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, swears by it, and by all things thereon.ആകയാൽ യാഗപിഠത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അതിനെയും അതിന്മേലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

And whoso shall swear by the temple, swears by it, and by him that dwells therein.മന്ദിരത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അതിനെയും അതിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവനെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

And he that shall swear by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him that sits thereon.സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യംചെയ്യുന്നവൻ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെയും അതിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവനെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought all of you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ തുളസി, ചതകുപ്പ, ജീരകം ഇവയിൽ പതാരം കൊടുക്കയും ന്യായം, കരുണ, വിശ്വസ്തത ഇങ്ങനെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഘനമേറിയവ ത്യജിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അതു ചെയ്കയും ഇതു ത്യജിക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം.

All of you blind guides, which strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ കൊതുകിനെ അരിച്ചെടുക്കയും ഒട്ടകത്തെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നു; അകത്തോ കവർച്ചയും അതിക്രമവും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

You blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.കുരുടനായ പരീശനെ, കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മുമ്പെ അവയുടെ അകം വെടിപ്പാക്കുക.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you are like unto whitewashed sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; വെള്ളതേച്ച ശവക്കല്ലറകളോടു നിങ്ങൾ ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ പുറമെ അഴകായി ശോഭിക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും അകമെ ചത്തവരുടെ അസ്ഥികളും സകലവിധ അശുദ്ധിയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁸

Even so all of you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within all of you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പുറമെ നിങ്ങൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്നു മനുഷ്യർക്കു തോന്നുന്നു; അകമെയോ കപടഭക്തിയും അധർമ്മവും നിറഞ്ഞവരത്രേ.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because all of you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous,കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ പണിതും നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ അലങ്കരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു:

And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.ഞങ്ങൾ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുന്നതിൽ കൂട്ടാളികൾ ആകയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

Wherefore all of you be witnesses unto yourselves, that all of you are the children of them which killed the prophets.അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊന്നവരുടെ മക്കൾ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Fill all of you up then the measure of your fathers.പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അളവു നിങ്ങൾ പൂരിച്ചു കൊൾവിൻ.

All of you serpents, all of you generation of vipers, how can all of you escape the damnation of hell?പാമ്പുകളേ, സർപ്പസന്തതികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ നരകവിധി എങ്ങനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും?

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them all of you shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall all of you scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും ജ്ഞാനികളെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കുന്നു; അവരിൽ ചിലരെ നിങ്ങൾ ക്രൂശിച്ചു കൊല്ലുകയും ചിലരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു അടിക്കയും പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്നു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു ഓടിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom all of you slew between the temple and the altar.നീതിമാനായ ഹാബേലിന്റെ രക്തംമുതൽ നിങ്ങൾ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും നടുവിൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നവനായി ബെരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ രക്തംവരെ ഭൂമിയിൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞ നീതിയുള്ള രക്തം എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വരേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.ഇതൊക്കെയും ഈ തലമുറമേൽ വരും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and all of you would not!യെരൂശലേമേ, യെരൂശലേമേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുകയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരെ കല്ലെറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നവളേ, കോഴി തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ചിറകിൻ കീഴിൽ ചേർക്കുംപോലെ നിന്റെ മക്കളെ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ എനിക്കു എത്രവട്ടം മനസ്സായിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കോ മനസ്സായില്ല.

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനം ശൂന്യമായ്തീരും.

For I say unto you, All of you shall not see me henceforth, till all of you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.‘കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുവോളം നിങ്ങൾ ഇനി എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”
