Luke 7

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.ജനം കേൾക്കെ തന്റെ വചനം ഒക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞുതീർന്ന ശേഷം അവൻ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു.

And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.അവിടെ ഒരു ശതാധിപന്നു പ്രിയനായ ദാസൻ ദീനം പിടിച്ചു മരിപ്പാറായിരുന്നു.

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.അവൻ യേശുവിന്റെ വസ്തുത കേട്ടിട്ടു, അവൻ വന്നു തന്റെ ദാസനെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടിതിന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിപ്പാൻ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:അവൻ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു താല്പര്യമായി അപേക്ഷിച്ചു: നീ അതു ചെയ്തുകൊടുപ്പാൻ അവൻ യോഗ്യൻ;

For he loves our nation, and he has built us a synagogue.അവൻ നമ്മുടെ ജനത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു പള്ളിയും തീർപ്പിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not yourself: for I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof:യേശു അവരോടുകൂടെ പോയി, വീട്ടിനോടു അടുപ്പാറായപ്പോൾ ശതാധിപൻ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു: കർത്താവേ, പ്രയാസപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നി എന്റെ പുരെക്കകത്തു വരുവാൻ ഞാൻ പോരാത്തവൻ.

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto you: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യൻ എന്നു എനിക്കു തോന്നിട്ടില്ല. ഒരു വാക്കു കല്പിച്ചാൽ എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന്നു സൌഖ്യംവരും.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.ഞാനും അധികാരത്തിന്നു കീഴ്പെട്ട മനുഷ്യൻ; എന്റെ കീഴിൽ പടയാളികൾ ഉണ്ടു; ഒരുവനോടു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ പോകുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുവനോടു വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ വരുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനോടു: ഇതു ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.യേശു അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവങ്കൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി, അനുഗമിക്കുന്ന കൂട്ടത്തോടു: “യിസ്രായേലിൽകൂടെ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള വിശ്വാസം ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു;

And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.ശതാധിപൻ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിരുന്നവർ വീട്ടിൽ മടങ്ങി വന്നപ്പോൾ ദാസനെ സൌഖ്യത്തോടെ കണ്ടു.

And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവൻ നയിൻ എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും വളരെ പുരുഷാരവും കൂടെ പോയി.

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.അവൻ പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ വാതിലോടു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ മരിച്ചുപോയ ഒരുത്തനെ പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; അവൻ അമ്മക്കു ഏകജാതനായ മകൻ; അവളോ വിധവ ആയിരുന്നു. പട്ടണത്തിലെ ഒരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരവും അവളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.അവളെ കണ്ടിട്ടു കർത്താവു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു അവളോടു: “കരയേണ്ടാ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവൻ അടുത്തു ചെന്നു മഞ്ചം തൊട്ടു ചുമക്കുന്നവർ നിന്നു.

And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto you, Arise.“ബാല്യക്കാരാ എഴുന്നേൽക്ക എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.മരിച്ചവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഇരുന്നു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ തുടങ്ങി; അവൻ അവനെ അമ്മെക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet has risen up among us; and, That God has visited his people.എല്ലാവർക്കും ഭയംപിടിച്ചു: ഒരു വലിയ പ്രവാചകൻ നമ്മുടെ ഇടയിൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവം തന്റെ ജനത്തെ സന്ദർശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വീകരിച്ചു.

And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.അവനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ ശ്രുതി യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ ഒക്കെയും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാടെങ്ങും പരന്നു.

And the disciples of John showed him of all these things.ഇതു ഒക്കെയും യോഹന്നാന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Are you he that should come? or look we for another?എന്നാറെ യോഹന്നാൻ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെ വിളിച്ചു, കർത്താവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു: വരുവാനുള്ളവൻ നീയോ? അല്ല, ഞങ്ങൾ മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണമോ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist has sent us unto you, saying, Are you he that should come? or look we for another?ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: വരുവാനുള്ളവൻ നീയോ? അല്ല, ഞങ്ങൾ മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിപ്പാൻ യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ ഞങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.ആ നാഴികയിൽ അവൻ വ്യാധികളും ദണ്ഡങ്ങളും ദുരാത്മാക്കളും പിടിച്ച പലരെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും പല കുരുടന്മാർക്കു കാഴ്ച നല്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവരോടു:

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things all of you have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.“കുരുടർ കാണുന്നു; മുടന്തർ നടക്കുന്നു; കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ ശുദ്ധരായിത്തീരുന്നു; ചെകിടർ കേൾക്കുന്നു; മരിച്ചവർ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കുന്നു; ദിരദ്രന്മാരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ കാണുകയും കേൾക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു യോഹന്നാനെ ചെന്നു അറിയിപ്പിൻ.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.എന്നാൽ എങ്കൽ ഇടറിപ്പോകാത്തവൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went all of you out into the wilderness in order to see? A reed shaken with the wind?യോഹന്നാന്റെ ദൂതന്മാർ പോയശേഷം അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തോടു യോഹന്നാനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങിയതു: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു കാണ്മാൻ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോയി? കാറ്റിനാൽ ഉലയുന്ന ഓടയോ?

But what went all of you out in order to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.അല്ല, എന്തു കാണ്മാൻ പോയി? മാർദ്ദവവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച മനുഷ്യനെയോ? മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു സുഖഭോഗികളായി നടക്കുന്നവർ രാജധാനികളിൽ അത്രേ.

But what went all of you out in order to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.അല്ല, എന്തു കാണ്മാൻ പോയി? ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെയൊ? അതേ, പ്രവാചകനിലും മികച്ചവനെ തന്നേ” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു:

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.“ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദൂതനെ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി അയക്കുന്നു; അവൻ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിനക്കു വഴി ഒരുക്കും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചാകുന്നു”.

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.സ്ത്രീകളിൽ നിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരിൽ യോഹന്നാനെക്കാൾ വലിയവൻ ആരുമില്ല; ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവനോ അവനിലും വലിയവൻ” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.--

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.എന്നാൽ ജനം ഒക്കെയും ചുങ്കക്കാരും കേട്ടിട്ടു യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റതിനാൽ ദൈവത്തെ നീതീകരിച്ചു.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.“എങ്കിലും പരീശന്മാരും ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവനാൽ സ്നാനം ഏൽക്കാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചന തങ്ങൾക്കു വൃഥാവാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു-

And the Lord said, Unto which then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?ഈ തലമുറയിലെ മനുഷ്യരെ ഏതിനോടു ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു? അവർ ഏതിനോടു തുല്യം?

They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and all of you have not danced; we have mourned to you, and all of you have not wept.ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കായി കുഴലൂതി, നിങ്ങൾ നൃത്തം ചെയ്തില്ല; ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കായി വിലാപം പാടി, നിങ്ങൾ കരഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു ചന്തസ്ഥലത്തു ഇരുന്നു അന്യോന്യം വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്ന കുട്ടികളോടു അവർ തുല്യർ.

For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and all of you say, He has a devil.യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ അപ്പം തിന്നാതെയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കാതെയും വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഭൂതം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.

The Son of man has come eating and drinking; and all of you say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a wine indulger, a friend of publicans and sinners!മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ തിന്നും കുടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; തിന്നിയും കുടിയനും ആയ മനുഷ്യൻ ചുങ്കക്കാരുടെയും പാപികളുടെയും സ്നേഹിതൻ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.

But wisdom is justified of all her children.ജ്ഞാനമോ തന്റെ എല്ലാ മക്കളാലും നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to food.പരീശന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാൻ അവനെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു; അവൻ പരീശന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരുന്നു.

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at food in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,ആ പട്ടണത്തിൽ പാപിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീ, അവൻ പരീശന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു അറിഞ്ഞു ഒരു വെൺകൽഭരണി പരിമളതൈലം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു,

And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.പുറകിൽ അവന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നിന്നു കണ്ണിനീർകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കാൽ നനെച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; തലമുടികൊണ്ടു തുടെച്ചു കാൽ ചുംബിച്ചു തൈലം പൂശി.

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that touches him: for she is a sinner.അവനെ ക്ഷണിച്ച പരീശൻ അതു കണ്ടിട്ടു: ഇവൻ പ്രവാചകൻ ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, തന്നെ തൊടുന്ന സ്ത്രീ ആരെന്നും എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവൾ എന്നും അറിയുമായിരുന്നു; അവൾ പാപിയല്ലോ എന്നു ഉള്ളിൽ പറഞ്ഞു

And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto you. And he says, Master, say on.“ശിമോനേ, നിന്നോടു ഒന്നു പറവാനുണ്ടു” എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: ഗുരോ, പറഞ്ഞാലും എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.കടം കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഒരുത്തന്നു രണ്ടു കടക്കാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഒരുത്തൻ അഞ്ഞൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശും മറ്റവൻ അമ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശും കൊടുപ്പാനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?വീട്ടുവാൻ അവർക്കു വക ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ അവൻ ഇരുവർക്കും ഇളെച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; എന്നാൽ അവരിൽ ആർ അവനെ അധികം സ്നേഹിക്കും?

Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, You have rightly judged.അധികം ഇളെച്ചുകിട്ടിയവൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ ഊഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ശിമോൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനോടു: “നീ വിധിച്ചതു ശരി” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, See you this woman? I entered into yours house, you gave me no water for my feet: but she has washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.സ്ത്രിയുടെ നേരെ തരിഞ്ഞു ശിമോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ഈ സ്ത്രീയെ കാണുന്നുവോ? ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു, നീ എന്റെ കാലിന്നു വെള്ളം തന്നില്ല; ഇവളോ കണ്ണുനീർകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ കാൽ നനെച്ചു തലമുടികൊണ്ടു തുടെച്ചു.

You gave me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in has not ceased to kiss my feet.നീ എനിക്കു ചുംബനം തന്നില്ല; ഇവളോ ഞാൻ അകത്തു വന്നതു മുതൽ ഇടവിടാതെ എന്റെ കാൽ ചുംബിച്ചു.

My head with oil you did not anoint: but this woman has anointed my feet with ointment.നീ എന്റെ തലയിൽ തൈലം പൂശിയില്ല; ഇവളോ പരിമള തൈലംകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ കാൽ പൂശി.

Wherefore I say unto you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.ആകയാൽ ഇവളുടെ അനേകമായ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു; അവൾ വളരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചുവല്ലോ; അല്പം മോചിച്ചുകിട്ടിയവൻ അല്പം സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു”.

And he said unto her, Your sins are forgiven.പിന്നെ അവൻ അവളോടു: “നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചു തിന്നിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they that sat at food with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgives sins also?അവനോടു കൂടെ പന്തിയിൽ ഇരുന്നവർ: പാപമോചനവും കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഇവൻ ആർ എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

And he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.അവനോ സ്ത്രീയോടു: “നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Luke 8

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,അനന്തരം അവൻ ദൈവരാജ്യം പ്രസംഗിച്ചും സുവിശേഷിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു പട്ടണംതോറും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,അവനോടുകൂടെ പന്തിരുവരും അവൻ ദുരാത്മാക്കളെയും വ്യാധികളെയും നീക്കി സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിയ ചില സ്ത്രീകളും ഏഴു ഭൂതങ്ങൾ വിട്ടുപോയ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ കാര്യവിചാരകനായ കൂസയുടെ ഭാര്യ യോഹന്നയും ശൂശന്നയും തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്തുവകകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു പോന്ന മറ്റു പല സ്ത്രികളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spoke by a parable:പിന്നെ വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരവും ഓരോ പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നവരും ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഉപമയായി പറഞ്ഞതു: “വിതെക്കുന്നവൻ വിത്തു വിതെപ്പാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.വിതെക്കുമ്പോൾ ചിലതു വഴിയരികെ വീണിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിപ്പോകയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതി അതിനെ തിന്നുകളകയും ചെയ്തു.

And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.മറ്റു ചിലതു പാറമേൽ വീണു മുളെച്ചു നനവില്ലായ്കയാൽ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.മറ്റു ചിലതു മുള്ളിന്നിടയിൽ വീണു; മുള്ളുംകൂടെ മുളെച്ചു അതിനെ ഞെരുക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.മറ്റു ചിലതു നല്ല നിലത്തു വീണു മുളെച്ചു നൂറുമേനി ഫലം കൊടുത്തു. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു: കേൾപ്പാൻ ചെവി ഉള്ളവൻ കേൾക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു ഈ ഉപമ എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു:

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.“ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിന്റെ മർമ്മങ്ങളെ അറിവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വരം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ശേഷമുള്ളവർക്കോ കണ്ടിട്ടും കാണാതിരിപ്പാനും, കേട്ടിട്ടും ഗ്രഹിക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും ഉപമകളിലത്രേ.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.ഉപമയുടെ പൊരുളോ: വിത്തു ദൈവവചനം;

Those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.വഴിയരികെയുള്ളവർ കേൾക്കുന്നവർ എങ്കിലും അവർ വിശ്വസിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിപ്പാൻ പിശാചു വന്നു അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നു വചനം എടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.

They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.പാറമേലുള്ളവരോ കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ വചനം സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവർ എങ്കിലും അവർക്കു വേരില്ല; അവർ തൽക്കാലം വിശ്വസിക്കയും പരീക്ഷാസമയത്തു പിൻവാങ്ങിപ്പോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.മുള്ളിന്നിടയിൽ വീണതോ കേൾക്കുന്നവർ എങ്കിലും പോയി ചിന്തകളാലും ധനത്താലും സംസാരഭോഗങ്ങളാലും ഞെരുങ്ങി പൂർണ്ണമായി ഫലം കൊടുക്കാത്തവരത്രേ.

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.നല്ല മണ്ണിലുള്ളതോ വചനം കേട്ടു ഗുണമുള്ള നല്ല ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു ക്ഷമയോടെ ഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്നവർ തന്നേ.

No man, when he has lighted a candle, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but sets it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.വിളക്കു കൊളുത്തീട്ടു ആരും അതിനെ പാത്രംകൊണ്ടു മൂടുകയോ കട്ടിൽക്കീഴെ വെക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ അകത്തു വരുന്നവർ വെളിച്ചം കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു തണ്ടിന്മേൽ അത്രേ വെക്കുന്നതു.

For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.വെളിപ്പെടാതെ ഗൂഢമായതു ഒന്നുമില്ല; പ്രസിദ്ധമായി വെളിച്ചത്തു വരാതെ മറവായിരിക്കുന്നതും ഒന്നുമില്ല.

Take heed therefore how all of you hear: for whosoever has, to him shall be given; and whosoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have.ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ കേൾക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ. ഉള്ളവന്നു കിട്ടും; ഇല്ലാത്തവനോടോ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു തോന്നുന്നതും കൂടെ എടുത്തുകളയും.

Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.അവന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും

And it was told him by certain which said, Your mother and your brethren stand without, desiring to see you.അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു, പുരുഷാരം നിമിത്തം അവനോടു അടുപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. നിന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും നിന്നെ കാണ്മാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പുറത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലർ അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.അവരോടു അവൻ: “എന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും ദൈവ വചനം കേട്ടു ചെയ്യുന്നവരത്രേ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.ഒരു ദിവസം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി പടകിൽ കയറി; “നാം തടാകത്തിന്റെ അക്കരെ പോക” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.അവർ നീക്കി ഓടുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ഉറങ്ങിപ്പോയി

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.തടാകത്തിൽ ഒരു ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റു ഉണ്ടായി പടകിൽ വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവർ പ്രാണഭയത്തിലായി അടുക്കെ ചെന്നു: നാഥാ, നാഥാ, ഞങ്ങൾ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ഉണർത്തി; അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാറ്റിനെയും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കോപത്തെയും ശാസിച്ചു; അവ അമർന്നു ശാന്തത ഉണ്ടായി. പിന്നെ അവരോടു:

And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commands even the winds and water, and they obey him.“നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസം എവിടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരോ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു: ഇവൻ ആർ? അവൻ കാറ്റിനോടും വെള്ളത്തോടും കല്പിക്കയും അവ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite to Galilee.അവർ ഗലീലക്കു നേരെയുള്ള ഗെരസേന്യദേശത്തു അണഞ്ഞു.

And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.അവൻ കരെക്കു ഇറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ബഹുകാലമായി ഭൂതങ്ങൾ ബാധിച്ചോരു മനുഷ്യൻ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്നു വന്നു എതിർപെട്ടു; അവൻ ബഹുകാലമായി വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കാതെയും വീട്ടിൽ പാർക്കാതെയും ശവക്കല്ലറകളിൽ അത്രേ ആയിരുന്നു.

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God most high? I plead to you, torment me not.അവൻ യേശുവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു: യേശുവേ, മഹോന്നതനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രാ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കരുതേ എന്നു ഞാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു.

(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)അവൻ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനോടു ആ മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടുപോകുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. അതു വളരെ കാലമായി അവനെ ബാധിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവനെ ചങ്ങലയും വിലങ്ങും ഇട്ടു ബന്ധിച്ചു സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നിട്ടും അവൻ ബന്ധനങ്ങളെ തകർക്കയും ഭൂതം അവനെ കാടുകളിലേക്കു ഓടിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

And Jesus asked him, saying, What is your name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.യേശു അവനോടു: “നിന്റെ പേർ എന്തു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അനേകം ഭൂതങ്ങൾ അവനെ ബാധിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു; ലെഗ്യോൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു പോകുവാൻ കല്പിക്കരുതു എന്നു അവ അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.അവിടെ മലയിൽ വലിയൊരു പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവയിൽ കടപ്പാൻ അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അവൻ അനുവാദം കൊടുത്തു.

Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.ഭൂതങ്ങൾ ആ മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടു പന്നികളിൽ കടന്നപ്പോൾ കൂട്ടം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ തടാകഞ്ഞിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വീർപ്പുമുട്ടി ചത്തു.

When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതു മേയക്കുന്നവർ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോയി പട്ടണത്തിലും നാട്ടിലും അറിയിച്ചു.

Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.സംഭവിച്ചതു കാണ്മാൻ അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു, ഭൂതങ്ങൾ വിട്ടുപോയ മനുഷ്യൻ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും സുബോധം പൂണ്ടും യേശുവിന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തന്നു സൌഖ്യം വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു കണ്ടവർ അവരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.ഗെരസേന്യദേശത്തിലെ ജനസമൂഹം എല്ലാം ഭയപരവശരായി തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോകേണം എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പടകുകയറി മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,ഭൂതങ്ങൾ വിട്ടുപോയ ആൾ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരിപ്പാൻ അനുവാദം ചോദിച്ചു.

³⁹

Return to yours own house, and show how great things God has done unto you. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.അതിന്നു അവൻ: “നീ വീട്ടിൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ദൈവം നിനക്കു ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും അറിയിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ അയച്ചു. അവൻ പോയി യേശു തനിക്കു ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും പട്ടണത്തിൽ എല്ലാടവും അറിയിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.യേശു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു; അവർ എല്ലാവരും അവന്നായിട്ടു കാത്തിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:അപ്പോൾ പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയായ യായീറൊസ് എന്നുപേരുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യൻ വന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ വീണു.

For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.അവന്നു ഏകദേശം പന്ത്രണ്ടു വയസ്സുള്ള ഏകജാതയായോരു മകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൾ മരിപ്പാറായതു കൊണ്ടു തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വരേണം എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അവൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ തിക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,അന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു സംവത്സരമായി രക്തസ്രവമുള്ളവളും മുതൽ എല്ലാം വൈദ്യന്മാർക്കു കൊടുത്തിട്ടും ആരാലും സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തുവാൻ കഴിയാത്തവളുമായോരു സ്ത്രീ

Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stopped.പുറകിൽ അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ തൊങ്ങൽ തൊട്ടു ഉടനെ അവളുടെ രക്തസ്രവം നിന്നുപോയി.

And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude crowd upon you and press you, and says you, Who touched me?“എന്നെ തൊട്ടതു ആർ ” എന്നു യേശു ചോദിച്ചു. എല്ലാവരും ഞാനല്ല, ഞാനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ: ഗുരോ, പുരുഷാരം നിന്നെ തിക്കിത്തിരക്കുന്നു എന്നു പത്രൊസും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said, Somebody has touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.യേശുവോ: “ഒരാൾ എന്നെ തൊട്ടു; എങ്കൽനിന്നു ശക്തി പുറപ്പെട്ടതു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.താൻ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു സ്ത്രീകണ്ടു വിറെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വീണു, അവനെ തൊട്ട സംഗതിയും തൽക്ഷണം സൌഖ്യമായതും സകലജനവും കേൾക്കെ അറിയിച്ചു.

And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: your faith has made you whole; go in peace.അവൻ അവളോടു: “മകളേ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

While he yet spoke, there comes one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Your daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.അവൻ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയുടെ ഒരാൾ വന്നു: നിന്റെ മകൾ മരിച്ചുപോയി; ഗുരുവിനെ പ്രയാസപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.യേശു അതുകേട്ടാറെ: “ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ, വിശ്വസിക്കമാത്രം ചെയ്ക; എന്നാൽ അവൾ രക്ഷപ്പെടും” എന്നു അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.വീട്ടിൽ എത്തിയാറെ പത്രൊസ്, യോഹന്നാൻ, യാക്കോബ് എന്നവരെയും ബാലയുടെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും അല്ലാതെ ആരെയും അവൻ തന്നോടുകൂടെ അകത്തു വരുവാൻ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps.എല്ലാവരും അവളെച്ചൊല്ലി കരകയും മുറയിടുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ: “കരയേണ്ടാ, അവൾ മരിച്ചില്ല, ഉറങ്ങുന്നത്രേ” എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.അവരോ അവൾ മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു അറികകൊണ്ടു അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.

And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.എന്നാൽ അവൻ അവളുടെ കൈക്കു പിടിച്ചു; “ബാലേ, എഴുന്നേൽക്ക” എന്നു അവളോടു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു.

And her spirit came again, and she arose immediately: and he commanded to give her food.അവളുടെ ആത്മാവു മടങ്ങിവന്നു, അവൾ ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു; അവൾക്കു ഭക്ഷണം കൊടുപ്പാൻ അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.അവളുടെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാർ വിസ്മയിച്ചു. “സംഭവിച്ചതു ആരോടും പറയരുതു” എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

Luke 9

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.അവൻ പന്തിരുവരെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ചു, സകല ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെമേലും വ്യാധികളെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുവാനും അവർക്കു ശക്തിയും അധികാരവും കൊടുത്തു;

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.ദൈവരാജ്യം പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും രോഗികൾക്കു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തുവാനും അവരെ അയച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു:

And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor pouch, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.വഴിക്കു വടിയും പൊക്കണവും അപ്പവും പണവും ഒന്നും എടുക്കരുതു; രണ്ടു ഉടുപ്പും അരുതു.

And whatsoever house all of you enter into, there abide, and thence depart.നിങ്ങൾ ഏതു വീട്ടിൽ എങ്കിലും ചെന്നാൽ അവിടം വിട്ടുപോകുംവരെ അവിടെത്തന്നെ പാർപ്പിൻ.

And whosoever will not receive you, when all of you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാതിരുന്നാൽ ആ പട്ടണം വിട്ടു അവരുടെ നേരെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലിൽനിന്നു പൊടി തട്ടിക്കളവിൻ.

And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു എങ്ങും സുവിശേഷിച്ചും രോഗികളെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയും കൊണ്ടു ഊർതോറും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;സംഭവിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം ഇടപ്രഭുവായ ഹെരോദാവു കേട്ടു.

And of some, that Elijah had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.യോഹന്നാൻ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു ചിലരും ഏലീയാവു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു ചിലരും പുരാതനപ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു മറ്റുചിലരും പറക കൊണ്ടു ഹെരോദാവു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു:

And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.യോഹന്നാനെ ഞാൻ ശിരഃഛേദം ചെയ്തു; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളതു കേൾക്കുന്ന ഇവൻ ആർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ കാണ്മാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.

And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ മടങ്ങിവന്നിട്ടു തങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു. അവൻ അവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ബേത്ത്സയിദ എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു തനിച്ചു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spoke unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.അതു പുരുഷാരം അറിഞ്ഞു അവനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു. അവൻ അവരെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അവരോടു സംസാരിക്കയും രോഗശാന്തി വേണ്ടിയവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

But he said unto them, Give all of you them to eat. For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.ഏകദേശം അയ്യായിരം പുരുഷന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പിന്നെ അവർ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: “അവരെ അമ്പതു വീതം പന്തിപന്തിയായി ഇരുത്തുവിൻ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.അവൻ ആ അഞ്ചു അപ്പവും രണ്ടു മീനും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു നോക്കി അവയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നു വിളമ്പുവാൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ കൊടുത്തു.

And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.എല്ലാവരും തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി, ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം പന്ത്രണ്ടു കൊട്ട എടുത്തു.

And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?അവൻ തനിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അവരോടു: “പുരുഷാരം എന്നെ ആരെന്നു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others say, that one of the old prophets has risen again.യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ എന്നും ചിലർ ഏലീയാവു എന്നും മറ്റു ചിലർ പുരാതന പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നും പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവർ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he strictly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;“ഇതു ആരോടും പറയരുതെന്നു” അവൻ അവരോടു അമർച്ചയായിട്ടു കല്പിച്ചു.

Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.“മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ പലതും സഹിക്കയും മൂപ്പന്മാർ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാർ ശാസ്ത്രികൾ എന്നിവർ അവനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലുകയും അവൻ മൂന്നാം നാൾ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും വേണം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.പിന്നെ അവൻ എല്ലാവരോടും പറഞ്ഞതു: “എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാൻ ഒരുത്തൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചാൽ അവൻ തന്നെത്താൻ നിഷേധിച്ചു നാൾതോറും തന്റെ ക്രൂശ് എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചാൽ അതിനെ കളയും; എന്റെ നിമിത്തം ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളഞ്ഞാലോ അതിനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ സർവ്വലോകവും നേടീട്ടു തന്നെത്താൻ നഷ്ടമാക്കിക്കളകയോ ചേതം വരുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്താൻ അവന്നു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം?

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെയും എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നാണിച്ചാൽ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ തന്റെയും പിതാവിന്റെയും വിശുദ്ധദൂതന്മാരുടെയും മഹത്വത്തിൽ വരുമ്പോൾ നാണിക്കും.

But I tell you truthfully, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.എന്നാൽ ദൈവരാജ്യം കാണുവോളം മരണം ആസ്വദിക്കാത്തവർ ചിലർ ഇവിടെ നിൽക്കുന്നവരിൽ ഉണ്ടു സത്യം” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

While he thus spoke, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.ഇതു പറയുമ്പോൾ ഒരു മേഘം വന്നു അവരുടെമേൽ നിഴലിട്ടു. അവർ മേഘത്തിൽ ആയപ്പോൾ പേടിച്ചു.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.മേഘത്തിൽനിന്നു: ഇവൻ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രൻ, ഇവന്നു ചെവികൊടുപ്പിൻ എന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായി.

And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായ നേരത്തു യേശുവിനെ തനിയേ കണ്ടു; അവർ കണ്ടതു ഒന്നും ആ നാളുകളിൽ ആരോടും അറിയിക്കാതെ മൌനമായിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവർ മലയിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി വന്നപ്പോൾ ബഹുപുരുഷാരം അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു.

And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I plead to you, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.കൂട്ടത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരാൾ നിലവിളിച്ചു: ഗുരോ, എന്റെ മകനെ കടാക്ഷിക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ എനിക്കു ഏകജാതൻ ആകുന്നു.

And, lo, a spirit takes him, and he suddenly cries out; and it tears him that he foams again, and bruising him hardly departs from him.ഒരാത്മാവു അവനെ പിടിച്ചിട്ടു അവൻ പൊടുന്നനവേ നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; അതു അവനെ നുരെപ്പിച്ചു പിടെപ്പിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവനെ ഞെരിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രയാസത്തോടെ വിട്ടുമാറുന്നു.

And I besought your disciples to cast him out; and they could not.അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കുവാൻ നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring your son here.അതിന്നു യേശു: “അവിശ്വാസവും കോട്ടവുമുള്ള തലമുറയേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു നിങ്ങളെ സഹിക്കും? നിന്റെ മകനെ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവരിക” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു;

And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.അവൻ വരുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ ഭൂതം അവനെ തള്ളിയിട്ടു പിടെപ്പിച്ചു. യേശു അശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ ശാസിച്ചു ബാലനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി, അപ്പനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,എല്ലാവരും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹിമയിങ്കൽ വിസ്മയിച്ചു. യേശു ചെയ്യുന്നതിൽ ഒക്കെയും എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു:

Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.“നിങ്ങൾ ഈ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു കേട്ടുകൊൾവിൻ: മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ പോകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.ആ വാക്കു അവർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; അതു തിരിച്ചറിയാതവണ്ണം അവർക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; ആ വാക്കു സംബന്ധിച്ചു അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ അവർ ശങ്കിച്ചു.

Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.അവരിൽവെച്ചു ആർ വലിയവൻ എന്നു ഒരു വാദം അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടന്നു.

And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,യേശു അവരുടെ ഹൃദയവിചാരം കണ്ടു ഒരു ശിശുവിനെ എടുത്തു അരികെ നിറുത്തി:

And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receives me: and whosoever shall receive me receives him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.“ഈ ശിശുവിനെ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും കൈക്കൊണ്ടാൽ എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവനോ എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരിലും ചെറിയവനായവൻ അത്രേ വലിയവൻ ആകും” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in your name; and we forbad him, because he follows not with us.നാഥാ, ഒരുത്തൻ നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നതു ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടു; ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കായ്കയാൽ അവനെ വിരോധിച്ചു എന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു യേശു അവനോടു:

And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.വിരോധിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങൾക്കു പ്രതികൂലമല്ലാത്തവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അനുകൂലമല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,അവന്റെ ആരോഹണത്തിന്നുള്ള കാലം തികയാറായപ്പോൾ അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്രയാവാൻ മനസ്സു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു തനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു.

And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.അവർ പോയി അവന്നായി വട്ടംകൂട്ടേണ്ടതിന്നു ശമര്യക്കാരുടെ ഒരു ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.

And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.എന്നാൽ അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ അവർ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടില്ല.

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, will you that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?അതു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരായ യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനും കണ്ടിട്ടു: കർത്താവേ, (ഏലിയാവു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ) ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി അവരെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നതു നിനക്കു സമ്മതമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, All of you know not what manner of spirit all of you are of.അവൻ തിരിഞ്ഞു അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു: (“നിങ്ങൾ ഏതു ആത്മാവിന്നു അധീനർ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല;

For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.മനുഷ്യ പുത്രൻ മനുഷ്യരുടെ പ്രാണങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാനല്ല രക്ഷിപ്പാനത്രേ വന്നതു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.) അവർ വേറൊരു ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.

And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow you anywhere you go.അവർ വഴിപോകുമ്പോൾ ഒരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: നീ എവിടെപോയാലും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.യേശു അവനോടു: “കുറുനരികൾക്കു കുഴിയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതിക്കു കൂടും ഉണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നോ തല ചായിപ്പാൻ സ്ഥലമില്ല ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.വേറൊരുത്തനോടു: “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാറെ അവൻ: ഞാൻ മുമ്പെ പോയി എന്റെ അപ്പനെ കുഴിച്ചിടുവാൻ അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go you and preach the kingdom of God.അവൻ അവനോടു: “മരിച്ചവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മരിച്ചവരെ കുഴിച്ചിടട്ടെ; നീയോ പോയി ദൈവരാജ്യം അറിയിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And another also said, Lord, I will follow you; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ: കർത്താവേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാം; ആദ്യം എന്റെ വീട്ടിലുള്ളവരോടു യാത്ര പറവാൻ അനുവാദം തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.യേശു അവനോടു: “കലപ്പെക്കു കൈ വെച്ച ശേഷം പുറകോട്ടു നോക്കുന്നവൻ ആരും ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിന്നു കൊള്ളാകുന്നവനല്ല ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
