Then spoke Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go you and yours household, and sojourn where ever you can sojourn: for the LORD has called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.അനന്തരം എലീശാ താൻ മകനെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തിരുന്ന സ്ത്രീയോടു: നീയും നിന്റെ ഭവനവും പുറപ്പെട്ടു എവിടെയെങ്കിലും പരദേശവാസം ചെയ്തുകൊൾവിൻ; യഹോവ ഒരു ക്ഷാമം വരുത്തുവാൻ പോകുന്നു; അതു ഏഴു സംവത്സരം ദേശത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.ആ സ്ത്രീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു; അവളും ഭവനവും ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശത്തുപോയി ഏഴു സംവത്സരം പരദേശവാസം ചെയ്തു.

And it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.ഏഴു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൾ ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശത്തുനിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്നു; പിന്നെ അവൾ തന്റെ വീടും നിലവും സംബന്ധിച്ചു രാജാവിനോടു സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ചെന്നു.

And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray you, all the great things that Elisha has done.അന്നേരം രാജാവു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരനായ ഗേഹസിയോടു സംസാരിക്കയിൽ: എലീശാ ചെയ്ത വൻകാര്യങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നീ എന്നോടു വിവരിച്ചുപറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.മരിച്ചുപോയവനെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ച വിവരം അവൻ രാജാവിനെ കേൾപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ അവൻ മകനെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തിരുന്ന സ്ത്രീ വന്നു തന്റെ വീടും നിലവും സംബന്ധിച്ചു രാജാവിനോടു സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ ഗേഹസി: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഇവൾ തന്നേ ആ സ്ത്രീ; എലീശാ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത മകൻ ഇവൻ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.രാജാവു സ്ത്രീയോടു ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവളും അതു വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു രാജാവു ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനെ നിയമിച്ചു: അവൾക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവൾ ദേശം വിട്ടുപോയ നാൾമുതൽ ഇതുവരെയുള്ള നിലത്തിന്റെ ആദായവും അവൾക്കു കൊടുപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God has come here.അനന്തരം എലീശാ ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ ചെന്നു; അന്നു അരാംരാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് ദീനംപിടിച്ചു കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു; ദൈവപുരുഷൻ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു അവന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടി.

And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in yours hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?രാജാവു ഹസായേലിനോടു: ഒരു സമ്മാനം എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവപുരുഷനെ ചെന്നുകണ്ടു: ഈ ദീനം മാറി എനിക്കു സൌഖ്യം വരുമോ എന്നു അവൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയോടു ചോദിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?അങ്ങനെ ഹസായേൽ ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കളിൽനിന്നൊക്കെയും എടുത്തു നാല്പതു ഒട്ടകച്ചുമടുമായി അവനെ ചെന്നുകണ്ടു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു: നിന്റെ മകൻ അരാം രാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് എന്നെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു: ഈ ദീനം മാറി എനിക്കു സൌഖ്യം വരുമോ എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു എലീശാ;

And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, You may certainly recover: nevertheless the LORD has showed me that he shall surely die.നീ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: നിനക്കു നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു സൌഖ്യം വരും എന്നു പറക; എന്നാൽ അവൻ നിശ്ചയമായി മരിച്ചുപോകുമെന്നു യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he settled his countenance steadfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.പിന്നെ അവന്നു ലജ്ജ തോന്നുവോളം അവൻ കണ്ണുപറിക്കാതെ അവനെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കി ദൈവപുരുഷൻ കരഞ്ഞു.

And Hazael said, Why weeps my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that you will do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds will you set on fire, and their young men will you slay with the sword, and will dash their children, and rip up their women with child.യജമാനൻ കരയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഹസായേൽ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ: നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു ചെയ്‍വാനിരിക്കുന്ന ദോഷം ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ; നീ അവരുടെ ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ തീയിട്ടു ചുടുകയും അവരുടെ യൌവനക്കാരെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊല്ലുകയും അവരുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ അടിച്ചു തകർക്കയും അവരുടെ ഗർഭിണികളെ പിളർക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Hazael said, But what, is your servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD has showed me that you shall be king over Syria.ഈ മഹാകാര്യം ചെയ്‍വാൻ നായായിരിക്കുന്ന അടിയൻ എന്തു മാത്രമുള്ളു എന്നു ഹസായേൽ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു എലീശാ: നീ അരാമിൽ രാജാവാകും എന്നു യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to you? And he answered, He told me that you should surely recover.അവൻ എലീശയെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ: എലീശാ നിന്നോടു എന്തു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു. നിനക്കു നിശ്ചയമായി സൌഖ്യം വരും എന്നു അവൻ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരംപറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass on the next day, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his position.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവൻ ഒരു കമ്പിളി എടുത്തു വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുക്കി അവന്റെ മുഖത്തിട്ടു; അതിനാൽ അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി; ഹസായേൽ അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവായ്തീർന്നു.

And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Je hoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാമിന്റെ അഞ്ചാം ആണ്ടിൽ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യെഹൂദയിൽ രാജാവായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകൻ യെഹോരാം രാജാവായി.

Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.അവൻ വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവന്നു മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവൻ എട്ടു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വാണു.

And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.ആഹാബിന്റെ മകൾ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ആഹാബിന്റെ ഗൃഹം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വഴിയിൽ നടന്നു യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him always a light, and to his children.എങ്കിലും യഹോവ തന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനോടു അവന്നും അവന്റെ മക്കൾക്കും എന്നേക്കും ഒരു ദീപം നല്കും എന്നു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ നിമിത്തം യെഹൂദയെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തനിക്കു മനസ്സായില്ല.

In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.അവന്റെ കാലത്തു എദോമ്യർ യെഹൂദയുടെ മേലധികാരത്തോടു മത്സരിച്ചു തങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു രാജാവിനെ വാഴിച്ചു.

So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and stroke the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.അപ്പോൾ യെഹോരാം സകലരഥങ്ങളുമായി സായിരിലേക്കു ചെന്നു; എന്നാൽ രാത്രിയിൽ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു തന്നെ വളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന എദോമ്യരെയും രഥനായകന്മാരെയും തോല്പിച്ചു; ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി.

Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.അങ്ങിനെ എദോമ്യർ യെഹൂദയുടെ മേലധികാരത്തോടു ഇന്നുവരെ മത്സരിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്നു; ആ കാലത്തു തന്നേ ലിബ്നയും മത്സരിച്ചു.

And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?യെഹോരാമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദാ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his position.യെഹോരാം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ അഹസ്യാവു അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ആഹാബിന്റെ മകൻ യോരാമിന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോരാമിന്റെ മകൻ അഹസ്യാവു രാജാവായി.

Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.അഹസ്യാവു വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ഒരു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വാണു. അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു അഥല്യാ എന്നു പേർ; അവൾ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ഒമ്രിയുടെ പൌത്രി ആയിരുന്നു.

And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.അവൻ ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ വഴിയിൽ നടന്നു ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; അവൻ ആഹാബിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തോടു സംബന്ധമുള്ളവൻ ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramothgilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.അവൻ ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാമിനോടുകൂടെ ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്‍വാൻ പോയി; എന്നാൽ അരാമ്യർ യോരാമിനെ മുറിവേല്പിച്ചു.

And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേലിനോടുള്ള യുദ്ധത്തിൽ രാമയിൽവെച്ചു അരാമ്യർ തന്നെ വെട്ടിയ മുറിവുകൾക്കു യിസ്രെയേലിൽവെച്ചു ചികിത്സചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യോരാംരാജാവു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി; ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാം രോഗിയാകകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോരാമിന്റെ മകൻ അഹസ്യാവു യിസ്രെയേലിൽ അവനെ കാണ്മാൻ ചെന്നിരുന്നു.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up your loins, and take this box of oil in yours hand, and go to Ramothgilead:എലീശാപ്രവാചകൻ ഒരു പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യനെ വിളിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ അരകെട്ടി ഈ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോക.

And when you come thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;അവിടെ എത്തിയശേഷം നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകൻ യേഹൂ എവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കി അകത്തു ചെന്നു അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു ഉൾമുറിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോക.

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus says the LORD, I have anointed you king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.പിന്നെ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയിൽ ഒഴിച്ചു: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു വാതിൽ തുറന്നു താമസിക്കാതെ ഓടിപ്പോരിക.

So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead.അങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകനായ ആ യൌവനക്കാരൻ ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.

And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to you, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To you, O captain.അവൻ അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ പടനായകന്മാർ മരുമിച്ചു ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു: നായകാ, എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു ഒരു കാര്യം അറിയിപ്പാനുണ്ടു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരിലുംവെച്ചു ആരോടു എന്നു യേഹൂ ചോദിച്ചു. നിന്നോടു തന്നേ, നായകാ എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു മുറിക്കകത്തു കടന്നു; അപ്പോൾ അവൻ തൈലം അവന്റെ തലയിൽ ഒഴിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

And you shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ രക്തത്തിന്നും യഹോവയുടെ സകലദാസന്മാരുടെയും രക്തത്തിന്നും ഈസേബെലിനോടു ഞാൻ പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ യജമാനനായ ആഹാബിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെ നീ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയേണം.

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisses against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹം അശേഷം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകേണം; യിസ്രായേലിൽ ആഹാബിന്നുള്ള സ്വതന്ത്രനും അസ്വതന്ത്രനുമായ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:ഞാൻ ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹത്തെ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശയുടെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കും.

And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.ഈസേബെലിനെ യിസ്രെയേൽ പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കൾ തിന്നുകളയും; അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്‍വാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല. പിന്നെ അവൻ വാതിൽ തുറന്നു ഓടിപ്പോയി.

Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to you? And he said unto them, All of you know the man, and his communication.യേഹൂതന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു വന്നപ്പോൾ ഒരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: എന്താകുന്നു വിശേഷം? ആ ഭ്രാന്തൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നതെന്തിന്നു? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ആ പുരുഷനെയും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞകാര്യത്തെയും അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spoke he to me, saying, Thus says the LORD, I have anointed you king over Israel.എന്നാറെ അവർ: അതു നേരല്ല; നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു പറയേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവൻ: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നാദിയായി ഇന്നിന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ അവൻ എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.അങ്ങനെ നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകൻ യേഹൂ യോരാമിന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി. യോരാമും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേൽനിമിത്തം ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിനെ കാവൽ ആക്കി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു.

But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?യിസ്രെയേലിലെ ഗോപുരമുകളിൽ ഒരു കാവൽക്കാരൻ നിന്നിരുന്നു; അവൻ യേവഹൂവിന്റെ കൂട്ടം വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു: ഞാൻ ഒരു കൂട്ടത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ യോരാം: നീ ഒരു കുതിരച്ചേവകനെ വിളിച്ചു അവരുടെ നേരെ അയക്കേണം; അവൻ ചെന്നു: സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus says the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What have you to do with peace? turn you behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he comes not again.അങ്ങനെ ഒരുത്തൻ കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നു: സമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനം കൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകിൽ വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ കാവൽക്കാരൻ: ദൂതൻ അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടും മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.

Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus says the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What have you to do with peace? turn you behind me.അവൻ മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു അയച്ചു; അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: സമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനംകൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകിൽ വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു.

And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and comes not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.അപ്പോൾ കാവൽക്കാരൻ: അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടു മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല; ആ ഓടിക്കുന്നതു നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹൂ ഓടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഭ്രന്തനപ്പോലെയല്ലോ അവൻ ഓടിച്ചുവരുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.ഉടനെ യോരാം: രഥം പൂട്ടുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; രഥം പൂട്ടിയശേഷം യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവായ യോരാമും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും താന്താന്റെ രഥത്തിൽ കയറി യേഹൂവിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു, യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തിങ്കൽവെച്ചു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു.

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?യേഹൂവിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യോരാം: യേഹൂവേ, സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു യേഹൂ: നിന്റെ അമ്മയായ ഈസേബെലിന്റെ പരസംഗവും ക്ഷുദ്രവും ഇത്ര അധികമായിരിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം എന്തു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.അപ്പോൾ യോരാം രഥം തിരിച്ചു ഓടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അഹസ്യാവോടു: അഹസ്യാവേ, ഇതു ദ്രോഹം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and stroke Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.യേഹൂ വില്ലുകുലെച്ചു യോരാമിനെ ഭുജങ്ങളുടെ നടുവെ എയ്തു; അമ്പു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം തുളഞ്ഞു മറുപുറം കടന്നു; അവൻ രഥത്തിൽ ചുരുണ്ടു വീണു.

Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and you rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;യേഹൂ തന്റെ പടനായകനായ ബിദ്കാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: അവനെ എടുത്തു യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തിൽ എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; ഞാനും നീയും ഒരുമിച്ചു അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ ആഹാബിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ കുതിരയേറി പോകുമ്പോൾ:

Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, says the LORD; and I will requite you in this portion, says the LORD. But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Strike him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാമിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ ആയിരുന്നു അഹസ്യാവു യെഹൂദയിൽ രാജാവായതു.

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേലിൽ വന്നതു ഈസേബെൽ കേട്ടിട്ടു തന്റെ കണ്ണിൽ മഷിയെഴുതി തലചീകി മിനുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു കിളിവാതിൽക്കൽകൂടി നോക്കി.

And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?യേഹൂ പടിവാതിൽ കടന്നപ്പോൾ അവൾ: യജമാനനെ കൊന്നവനായ സിമ്രിക്കു സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.അവൻ തന്റെ മുഖം കിളിവാതിൽക്കലേക്കു ഉയർത്തി: ആരുള്ളു എന്റെ പക്ഷത്തു? ആരുള്ളു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാറെ രണ്ടുമൂന്നു ഷണ്ഡന്മാർ പുറത്തേക്കു നോക്കി.

And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിടുവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു. ഉടനെ അവർ അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അവളുടെ രക്തം ചുവരിന്മേലും കുതിരകളിന്മേലും തെറിച്ചു; അവൻ അവളെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.അവൻ ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തശേഷം: ആ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളെ ചെന്നു നോക്കി അടക്കം ചെയ്‍വിൻ; അവൾ രാജകുമാരിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.അവർ അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്‍വാൻ ചെന്നാറെ അവളുടെ തലമണ്ടയും കാലുകളും കൈപ്പത്തികളും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും കണ്ടില്ല.

Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:അവർ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവനോടു അതു അറിയിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: യിസ്രെയേൽ പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കൾ ഈസേബെലിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയും;

And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab's children, saying,ആഹാബിന്നു ശമർയ്യയിൽ എഴുപതു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേൽ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും മൂപ്പന്മാർക്കും ആഹാബിന്റെ പുത്രപാലകന്മാർക്കും ശമർയ്യയിലേക്കു എഴുത്തുകളെ എഴുതി അയച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:

Now as soon as this letter comes to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും രഥങ്ങളും കുതിരകളും ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണവും ആയുധങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈവശം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?അവരോ ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു: രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും അവനോടു എതിർത്തുനില്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലല്ലോ; പിന്നെ നാം എങ്ങനെ നില്ക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If all of you be mine, and if all of you will hearken unto my voice, take all of you the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.എന്നാൽ രാജകുമാരന്മാർ എഴുപതു പേരും തങ്ങളെ വളർത്തുന്ന നഗരപ്രധാനികളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു.

And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.ഈ എഴുത്തു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ രാജകുമാരന്മാരെ എഴുപതുപേരെയും പിടിച്ചു കൊന്നു അവരുടെ തലകൊട്ടയിൽ ആക്കി യിസ്രെയേലിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay all of you them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.ഒരു ദൂതൻ വന്നു അവനോടു: അവർ രാജകുമാരന്മാരുടെ തലകൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു. അവയെ പടിപ്പുരവാതിൽക്കൽ രണ്ടു കൂമ്പാരമായി കൂട്ടി രാവിലെവരെ വെച്ചേക്കുവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, All of you be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?പിറ്റെന്നാൾ രാവിലെ അവൻ പുറത്തു ചെന്നുനിന്നു സർവ്വജനത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ; ഞാനോ എന്റെ യജമാനന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി അവനെ കൊന്നു കളഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ ഇവരെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നതു ആർ?

Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spoke concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD has done that which he spoke by his servant Elijah.ആകയാൽ യഹോവ ആഹാബ് ഗൃഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത യഹോവയുടെ വചനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നും നിഷ്ഫലമാകയില്ല എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ; യഹോവ തന്റെ ദാസനായ ഏലീയാവുമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.അങ്ങനെ യേഹൂ യിസ്രെയേലിൽ ആഹാബ് ഗൃഹത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവരെ ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ സകല മഹത്തുക്കളെയും ബന്ധുക്കളെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ആരും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം സംഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are all of you? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു: നിങ്ങൾ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഞങ്ങൾ അഹസ്യാവിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ; രാജാവിന്റെ മക്കളെയും രാജ്ഞിയുടെ മക്കളെയും അഭിവന്ദനം ചെയ്‍വാൻ പോകയാകുന്നു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: അവരെ ജീവനോടെ പിടിപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അവർ അവരെ ജീവനോടെ പിടിച്ചു; അവരെ നാല്പത്തിരണ്ടുപേരെയും രോമം കത്രിക്കുന്ന വീട്ടിന്റെ കളത്തിങ്കൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നു; അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല.

And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is yours heart right, as my heart is with your heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me yours hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.അവൻ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ തന്നെ എതിരേല്പാൻ വരുന്ന രേഖാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോനാദാബിനെ കണ്ടു വന്ദനം ചെയ്തു അവനോടു: എന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തോടു ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം പരമാർത്ഥമായിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു യോനാദാബ് അതെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ എങ്കിൽ കൈ തരിക. അവൻ കൈ കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ അവനെ തന്റെ രഥത്തിൽ കയറ്റി.

And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spoke to Elijah.ശമർയ്യയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ ശമർയ്യയിൽ ആഹാബിന്നു ശേഷിച്ചവരെ ഒക്കെയും യഹോവ ഏലീയാവോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ സംഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.പിന്നെ യേഹൂ സകലജനത്തെയും കൂട്ടി അവരോടു: ആഹാബ് ബാലിനെ അല്പമേ സേവിച്ചുള്ളു; യേഹൂവോ അവനെ അധികം സേവിക്കും.

Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be lacking: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be lacking, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtlety, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.ആകയാൽ ബാലിന്റെ സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും സകലപൂജകന്മാരെയും സകലപുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുത്തുവിൻ; ഒരുത്തനും വരാതിരിക്കരുതു; ഞാൻ ബാലിന്നു ഒരു മഹായാഗം കഴിപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നു; വരാത്തവർ ആരും ജീവനോടിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ ബാലിന്റെ പൂജകന്മാരെ നശിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം യേഹൂ ഈ ഉപായം പ്രയോഗിച്ചു.

And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.ബാലിന്നു ഒരു വിശുദ്ധസഭായോഗം ഘോഷിപ്പിൻ എന്നു യേഹൂ കല്പിച്ചു. അവർ അങ്ങനെ ഘേഷിച്ചു.

And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേൽ ദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ആളയച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ബാലിന്റെ സകല പൂജകന്മാരും വന്നു; ഒരുത്തനും വരാതിരുന്നില്ല; അവർ ബാലിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കൂടി; ബാൽക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു അറ്റംമുതൽ മറ്റേ അറ്റംവരെ തിങ്ങിനിറഞ്ഞു.

And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.അവൻ വസ്ത്ര വിചാരകനോടു: ബാലിന്റെ സകലപൂജകന്മാർക്കും വസ്ത്രം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ വസ്ത്രം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.പിന്നെ യേഹൂവും രേഖാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോനാദാബും ബാലിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കടന്നു ബാലിന്റെ പൂജകന്മാരോടു: ബാലിന്റെ പൂജകന്മാർ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ യഹോവയുടെ പൂജകന്മാർ ആരും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞു നോക്കുവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that lets him go, his life shall be for the life of him.അവർ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും കഴിപ്പാൻ അകത്തു ചെന്നശേഷം യേഹൂ പുറത്തു എണ്പതു പേരെ നിർത്തി: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കുന്ന ആളുകളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ചാടിപ്പോയാൽ അവന്റെ ജീവന്നു പകരം അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചവന്റെ ജീവൻ ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.ബാൽക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ സ്തംഭവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.അവർ ബാൽസ്തംഭത്തെ തകർത്തു ബാൽക്ഷേത്രത്തെ ഇടിച്ചു അതിനെ മറപ്പുരയാക്കിത്തീർത്തു; അതു ഇന്നുവരെ അങ്ങനെതന്നേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.ഇങ്ങനെ യേഹൂ ബാലിനെ യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Nevertheless from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to know, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.എങ്കിലും ബേഥേലിലും ദാനിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പൊൻകാളക്കുട്ടികളെക്കൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേലിനെ പാപം ചെയ്യുമാറാക്കിയ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെ യേഹൂ വിട്ടുമാറിയില്ല.

And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because you have done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and have done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, your children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.യഹോവ യേഹൂവിനോടു: എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളതു നീ നല്ലവണ്ണം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടും എന്റെ ഹിതപ്രകാരം ഒക്കെയും ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹത്തോടു ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തിൽ നാലാം തലമുറവരെ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.എങ്കിലും യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം പൂർണ്ണമനസ്സോടെ നടക്കുന്നതിന്നു ജാഗ്രത കാണിച്ചില്ല; യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ച യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെ അവൻ വിട്ടുമാറിയതുമില്ല.

In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and Hazael stroke them in all the coasts of Israel;ആ കാലത്തു യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനെ കുറെച്ചുകളവാൻ തുടങ്ങി; ഹസായേൽ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അതിരുകളിലൊക്കെയും അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു.

From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.അവൻ യോർദ്ദാന്നു കിഴക്കു ഗാദ്യർ, രൂബേന്യർ, മനശ്ശേയർ എന്നിവരുടെ ദേശമായ ഗിലെയാദ് മുഴുവനും ജയിച്ചടക്കി അർന്നോൻ തോട്ടിന്നരികെയുള്ള അരോവേർ മുതൽ ഗിലെയാദും ബാശാനും തന്നേ.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?യേഹൂവിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ സകലപരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his position.യേഹൂ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവനെ ശമർയ്യയിൽ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. അവന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോവാഹാസ് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.യേഹൂ ശമർയ്യയിൽ യിസ്രായേലിനെ വാണ കാലം ഇരുപത്തെട്ടു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു.

And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.അഹസ്യാവിന്റെ അമ്മയായ അഥല്യാ തന്റെ മകൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു രാജസന്തതിയെ ഒക്കെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചു.

But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.എന്നാൽ യോരാംരാജാവിന്റെ മകളും അഹസ്യാവിന്റെ സഹോദരിയുമായ യെഹോശേബ കൊല്ലപ്പെടുന്ന രാജാകുമാരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു അഹസ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോവാശിനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചെടുത്തു അവനെയും അവന്റെ ധാത്രിയെയും അഥല്യാ കണാതെ ഒരു ശയനഗൃഹത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഇടയായില്ല.

And he was with her hid in the house of the LORD six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land.അവനെ അവളോടുകൂടെ ആറു സംവത്സരം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ അഥല്യാ ദേശം വാണു.

And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and showed them the king's son.ഏഴാം ആണ്ടിൽ യെഹോയാദാ ആളയച്ചു കാര്യരുടെയും അകമ്പടികളുടെയും ശതാധിപന്മാരെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ വരുത്തി അവരോടു സഖ്യത ചെയ്തു; അവൻ അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽവെച്ചു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചിട്ടു അവർക്കു രാജകുമാരെനെ കാണിച്ചു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:

And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that all of you shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king's house;നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യേണ്ടുന്ന കാര്യം ആവിതു: ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തവണമാറിവരുന്ന നിങ്ങളിൽ മൂന്നിൽ ഒരു ഭാഗം രാജധാനിക്കും

And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall all of you keep the watch of the house, that it be not broken down.മൂന്നിൽ ഒരു ഭാഗം സൂർപടിവാതിൽക്കലും മൂന്നിൽ ഒരു ഭാഗം അകമ്പടികളുടെ സ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ പിമ്പുറത്തുള്ള പടിവാതിൽക്കലും കാവൽ നിൽക്കേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ അരമനെക്കു കിടങ്ങുപോലെ കാവലായിരിക്കേണം.

And two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the king.ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തവണ മാറിപോകുന്ന നിങ്ങളിൽ രണ്ടു കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ കാവലായിരിക്കേണം.

And all of you shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that comes within the ranges, let him be slain: and be all of you with the king as he goes out and as he comes in.നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും താന്താന്റെ ആയുധം ധരിച്ചു രാജാവിന്റെ ചുറ്റും നിൽക്കേണം; അണിക്കകത്തു കടക്കുന്നവനെ കൊന്നുകളയേണം; രാജാവു പോകയും വരികയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും. നിങ്ങൾ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം. യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതൻ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ശതാധിപന്മാർ ചെയ്തു;

And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.അവർ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തവണമാറി വരുന്നവരിലും ശബ്ബത്തിന്റെ തവണമാറി പോകുന്നവരിലും താന്താന്റെ ആളുകളെ യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And to the captains over hundreds did the priest give king David's spears and shields, that were in the temple of the LORD.പുരോഹിതൻ ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിന്റെ വകയായി യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കുന്തങ്ങളും പരിചകളും ശതാധിപന്മാർക്കു കൊടുത്തു.

And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple.അകമ്പടികൾ ഒക്കെയും കയ്യിൽ ആയുധവുമായി ആലയത്തിന്റെ വലത്തുവശംമുതൽ ഇടത്തുവശംവരെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും ആലയത്തിന്നും നേരെ രാജാവിന്റെ ചുറ്റും നിന്നു.

And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.അവൻ രാജകുമാരനെ പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു കിരീടും ധരിപ്പിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യപുസ്തകവും അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ അവനെ രാജാവാക്കി അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിട്ടു കൈകൊട്ടി; രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു ആർത്തു.

And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the temple of the LORD.അഥല്യാ അകമ്പടികളുടെയും ജനത്തിന്റെയും ആരവം കേട്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.ആചാരപ്രകാരം തൂണിന്റെ അരികെ രാജാവും രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും കാഹളക്കാരും നില്ക്കുന്നതും ദേശത്തെ ജനം ഉല്ലസിച്ചു കാഹളം ഊതുന്നതും കണ്ടിട്ടു അഥല്യാ വസ്ത്രം കീറി: ദ്രോഹം, ദ്രോഹം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that follows her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.അപ്പോൾ യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതൻ പടനായകന്മാരായ ശതാധിപന്മാർക്കു കല്പന കൊടുത്തു; അവളെ അണികളിൽകൂടി പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവിൻ; അവളെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നവനെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊല്ലുവിൻ എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽവെച്ചു അവളെ കൊല്ലരുതു എന്നു പുരോഹിതൻ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house: and there was she slain.അവർ അവൾക്കു വഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു; അവൾ കുതിരവാതിൽ വഴിയായി രാജധാനിയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവളെ അവിടെവെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD's people; between the king also and the people.അനന്തരം അവർ യഹോവയുടെ ജനമായിരിക്കുമെന്നു യെഹോയാദാ യഹോവെക്കും രാജാവിന്നും ജനത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേയും രാജാവിന്നും ജനത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേയും നിയമം ചെയ്തു.

And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD.പിന്നെ ദേശത്തെ ജനമൊക്കെയും ബാൽക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ചെന്നു അതു ഇടിച്ചു അവന്റെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളും അശേഷം ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; ബാലിന്റെ പുരോഹിതനായ മത്ഥാനെ ബിലപീഠങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നു കളഞ്ഞു. പുരോഹിതൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ കാര്യവിചാരകന്മാരെയും നിയമിച്ചു.

And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.അവൻ ശതാധിപന്മാരെയും കാര്യരെയും അകമ്പടികളെയും ദേശത്തെ സകല ജനത്തെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി രാജാവിനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറക്കി അകമ്പടികളുടെ പടിവാതിൽവഴിയായി രാജധാനിയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോയി; അവൻ രാജാസനം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house.ദേശത്തിലെ സകല ജനവും സന്തോഷിച്ചു; നഗരം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരുന്നു; അഥല്യയെ അവർ രാജധാനിക്കരികെവെച്ചു വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

Seven years old was Jehoash when he began to reign.യെഹോവാശ് രാജാവായപ്പോൾ അവന്നു ഏഴു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.
