Deuteronomy 12

These are the statutes and judgments, which all of you shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of your fathers gives you to possess it, all the days that all of you live upon the earth.നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയിൽ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നാളെല്ലാം പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടുന്ന ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ആവിതു:

All of you shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which all of you shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:നിങ്ങൾ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്ന ജാതികൾ ഉയർന്ന പർവ്വതങ്ങളിൻ മേലും കുന്നുകളിൻ മേലും എല്ലാപച്ചമരത്തിൻ കീഴിലും തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിച്ച സ്ഥലങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾ അശേഷം നശിപ്പിക്കേണം.

And all of you shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and all of you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങൾ ഇടിച്ചുകളയേണം; അവരുടെ ബിംബങ്ങളെ തകർക്കേണം; അവരുടെ അശേരപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെ തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം; അവരുടെ ദേവപ്രതിമകളെ വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു അവയുടെ പേർ ആ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു നശിപ്പിക്കേണം.

All of you shall not do so unto the LORD your God.നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ആ വിധത്തിൽ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല.

But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall all of you seek, and thither you shall come:നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ചു തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിങ്ങൾ തിരുനിവാസദർശനത്തിന്നായി ചെല്ലേണം.

And thither all of you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:അവിടെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ, ഹനനയാഗങ്ങൾ, ദശാംശങ്ങൾ, നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിലെ ഉദർച്ചാർപ്പണങ്ങൾ, നിങ്ങളുടെ നേർച്ചകൾ, സ്വമേധാദാനങ്ങൾ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകൾ എന്നിവയെ നിങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലേണം.

And there all of you shall eat before the LORD your God, and all of you shall rejoice in all that all of you put your hand unto, all of you and your households, wherein the LORD your God has blessed you.അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു നിങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കയും നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ കടുംബങ്ങളും സന്തോഷിക്കയുംവേണം.

All of you shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.നാം ഇന്നു ഇവിടെ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്നു ബോധിച്ചപ്രകാരം ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യരുതു.

For all of you are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God gives you.നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരുന്ന സ്വസ്ഥതെക്കും അവകാശത്തിന്നും നിങ്ങൾ ഇതുവരെ എത്തീട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.

But when all of you go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God gives you to inherit, and when he gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that all of you dwell in safety;എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു വസിക്കയും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും അവൻ നീക്കി നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത തരികയും നിങ്ങൾ നിർഭയമായി വസിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ

Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall all of you bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which all of you vow unto the LORD:നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ, ഹനനയാഗങ്ങൾ, ദശാംശങ്ങൾ, നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിലെ ഉദർച്ചാർപ്പണങ്ങൾ, നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവെക്കു നേരുന്ന വിശേഷമായ നേർച്ചകൾ എല്ലാം എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

And all of you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, all of you, and your sons, and your daughters, and your male servants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he has no part nor inheritance with you.നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദാസന്മാരും ദാസിമാരും നിങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഉള്ള ലേവ്യനും സന്തോഷിക്കേണം; അവന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഇല്ലല്ലോ.

Take heed to yourself that you offer not your burnt offerings in every place that you see:നിനക്കു ബോധിക്കുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ കഴിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക.

But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you.യഹോവ നിന്റെ ഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിൽ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നീ നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ കഴിക്കേണം; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നീ ചെയ്യേണം.

Notwithstanding you may kill and eat flesh in all your gates, whatsoever your soul lusts after, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which he has given you: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന അനുഗ്രഹത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ ഏതു പട്ടണത്തിൽവെച്ചും നിന്റെ മനസ്സിലെ ആഗ്രഹപ്രകാരമൊക്കെയും അറുത്തു മാംസം തിന്നാം; അതു കലമാനിനെയും പുള്ളിമാനിനെയും പോലെ ശുദ്ധന്നും അശുദ്ധന്നും തിന്നാം; രക്തം മാത്രം നിങ്ങൾ തിന്നരുതു;

Only all of you shall not eat the blood; all of you shall pour it upon the earth as water.അതു വെള്ളംപോലെ നിറത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളയേണം.

¹⁷

You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your corn, or of your wine, or of your oil, or the firstlings of your herds or of your flock, nor any of your vows which you vow, nor your freewill offerings, or heave offering of yours hand:എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയുടെ ദശാംശം, നിന്റെ ആടുമാടുകളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകൾ, നീ നേരുന്ന എല്ലാ നേർച്ചകൾ, നിന്റെ സ്വമേധാദാനങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ കയ്യിലെ ഉദർച്ചാർപ്പണങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെ നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽവെച്ചു തിന്നുകൂടാ.

But you must eat them before the LORD your God in the place which the LORD your God shall choose, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates: and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God in all that you put yours hands unto.അവയെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു നീയും നിന്റെ മകനും മകളും നിന്റെ ദാസനും ദാസിയും നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഉള്ള ലേവ്യനും തിന്നു, നിന്റെ സകലപ്രയത്നത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നീ സന്തോഷിക്കേണം.

Take heed to yourself that you forsake not the Levite as long as you live upon the earth.നീ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം ലേവ്യനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക.

When the LORD your God shall enlarge your border, as he has promised you, and you shall say, I will eat flesh, because your soul longs to eat flesh; you may eat flesh, whatsoever your soul lusts after.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവൻ നിന്റെ അതിർ വിശാലമാക്കുമ്പോൾ നീ മാംസം തിന്മാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു: എനിക്കു മാംസം തിന്നേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു മാംസം തിന്നാം.

If the place which the LORD your God has chosen to put his name there be too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock, which the LORD has given you, as I have commanded you, and you shall eat in your gates whatsoever your soul lusts after.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത സ്ഥലം ഏറെ ദൂരത്താകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള നിന്റെ ആടുമാടുകളിൽ ഏതിനെ എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അറുക്കുകയും നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽവെച്ചു നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ഒക്കെയും തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യാം.

Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so you shall eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.കലമാനിനെയും പുള്ളിമാനിനെയും തിന്നുന്നതുപോലെ നിനക്കു അവയെ തിന്നാം; ശുദ്ധന്നും അശുദ്ധന്നും ഒരുപോലെ തിന്നാം.

Only be sure that you eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and you may not eat the life with the flesh.രക്തം മാത്രം തിന്നാതിരിപ്പാൻ നിഷ്ഠയായിരിക്ക; രക്തം ജീവൻ ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ; മാംസത്തോടുകൂടെ ജീവനെ തിന്നരുതു.

²⁴

You shall not eat it; you shall pour it upon the earth as water.അതിനെ നീ തിന്നാതെ വെള്ളംപോലെ നിലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളയേണം.

²⁵

You shall not eat it; that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, when you shall do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.യഹോവെക്കു ഹിതമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിട്ടു നിനക്കും മക്കൾക്കും നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അതിനെ തിന്നരുതു.

²⁶

Only your holy things which you have, and your vows, you shall take, and go unto the place which the LORD shall choose:നിന്റെ പക്കലുള്ള വിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കളും നിന്റെ നേർച്ചകളും മാത്രം നീ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു പോകേണം.

²⁷

And you shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD your God: and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the LORD your God, and you shall eat the flesh.അവിടെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങൾ മാംസത്തോടും രക്തത്തോടും കൂടെ അർപ്പിക്കേണം; നിന്റെ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളുടെ രക്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ ഒഴിക്കേണം; അതിന്റെ മാംസം നിനക്കു തിന്നാം.

²⁸

Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you for ever, when you do that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഹിതവും ഉത്തമവുമാക്കുന്ന ഈ സകലവചനങ്ങളും കേട്ടു പ്രമാണിക്ക.

When the LORD your God shall cut off the nations from before you, where you go to possess them, and you succeed them, and dwell in their land;നീ കൈവശമാക്കുവാൻ ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തുള്ള ജാതികളെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുമ്പോഴും നീ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു അവരുടെ ദേശത്തു പാർക്കുമ്പോഴും

Take heed to yourself that you be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before you; and that you enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.അവർ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നശിച്ചശേഷം നീ അവരുടെ നടപടി അനുസരിച്ചു കണിയിൽ അകപ്പെടുകയും ഈ ജാതികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിച്ചവിധം ഞാനും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു അന്വേഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം.

You shall not do so unto the LORD your God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hates, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അങ്ങനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല; യഹോവ വെറുക്കുന്ന സകലമ്ളേച്ഛതയും അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവപൂജയിൽ ചെയ്തു തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിപുത്രന്മാരെപ്പോലും അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാർക്കു അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

Whatsoever I command you, observe to do it: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.—

Deuteronomy 13

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder,ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടപ്പിൻ; അതിനോടു കൂട്ടരുതു; അതിൽനിന്നു കുറെക്കയും അരുതു.

And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke unto you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which you have not known, and let us serve them;നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരനോ എഴുന്നേറ്റു:

You shall not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proves you, to know whether all of you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.നീ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്നു സേവിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു ഒരു അടയാളമോ അത്ഭുതമോ മുന്നറിയിക്കയും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞ അടയാളമോ അത്ഭുതമോ സംഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ

All of you shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and all of you shall serve him, and cleave unto him.ആ പ്രവാചകന്റെയോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരന്റെയോ വാക്കു നീ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണ്ണമനസ്സോടും കൂടെ നിങ്ങൾ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിക്കയാകുന്നു.

And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he has spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust you out of the way which the LORD your God commanded you to walk in. So shall you put the evil away from the midst of you.നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നിങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ചു ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അവന്റെ കല്പന പ്രമാണിച്ചു അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയും അവനെ സേവിച്ചു അവനോടു ചേർന്നിരിക്കയും വേണം.

If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, which is as yours own soul, entice you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;ആ പ്രവാചകനോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരനോ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനും അടിമവീട്ടിൽനിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്തവനുമായ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു വിരോധമായി ദ്രോഹം സംസാരിച്ചു, നീ നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കല്പിച്ച വഴിയിൽനിന്നു നിന്നെ തെറ്റിപ്പാൻ നോക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊല്ലേണം; അങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേനിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;നിങ്ങളുടെ ചുറ്റും ദേശത്തിന്റെ ഒരു അറ്റംമുതൽ മറ്റെഅറ്റംവരെ സമീപത്തോ ദൂരത്തോ ഉള്ള ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരിൽവെച്ചു

You shall not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall yours eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him:നീയോ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യ ദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്നു സേവിക്ക എന്നു നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ മകനായ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനോ നിന്റെ മകനോ മകളോ നിന്റെ മാർവ്വിടത്തിലുള്ള ഭാര്യയോ നിന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതനോ രഹസ്യമായി പറഞ്ഞു നിന്നെ വശീകരിപ്പാൻ നോക്കിയാൽ

But you shall surely kill him; yours hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.അവനോടു യോജിക്കയോ അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയോ ചെയ്യരുതു; അവനോടു കനിവു തോന്നുകയോ അവനോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചു അവനെ ഒളിപ്പിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ അവനെ കൊന്നുകളയേണം.

And you shall stone him with stones, that he die; because he has sought to thrust you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു ആദ്യം നിന്റെ കയ്യും പിന്നെ സർവ്വജനത്തിന്റെ കയ്യും അവന്റെ മേൽ ചെല്ലേണം.

And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നിന്നെ അകറ്റിക്കളവാൻ അവൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു, അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം.

If you shall hear say in one of your cities, which the LORD your God has given you to dwell there, saying,ഇനി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഈ അരുതാത്ത കാര്യം നടക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം.

Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which all of you have not known;നിങ്ങൾ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്നു സേവിക്കേണമെന്നു പറയുന്ന നീചന്മാർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെ വശീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു

Then shall you enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു പാർപ്പാൻ തന്നിട്ടുള്ള നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിനെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടാൽ

You shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.നീ നല്ലവണ്ണം അന്വേഷണവും പരിശോധനയും വിസ്താരവും കഴിക്കേണം; അങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛത നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടന്നു എന്ന കാര്യം വാസ്തവവും നിശ്ചയവും എങ്കിൽ

And you shall gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shall burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof everything, for the LORD your God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.നീ ആ പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ കൊന്നു അതും അതിലുള്ളതു ഒക്കെയും അതിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ ശപഥാർപ്പിതമായി സംഹരിക്കേണം.

And there shall cleave nothing of the cursed thing to yours hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion upon you, and multiply you, as he has sworn unto your fathers;അതിലെ കൊള്ളയൊക്കെയും വീഥിയുടെ നടുവിൽ കൂട്ടി ആ പട്ടണവും അതിലെ കൊള്ളയൊക്കെയും അശേഷം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കായി തീയിട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം; അതു എന്നും പാഴകുന്നായിരിക്കേണം; അതിനെ പിന്നെ പണികയുമരുതു.

When you shall hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to keep all his commandments which I command you this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD your God.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന അവന്റെ സകലകല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിച്ചു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു ഹിതമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിട്ടു

Deuteronomy 14

All of you are the children of the LORD your God: all of you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു മക്കൾ ആകുന്നു; മരിച്ചവന്നു വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങളെ മുറിവേല്പിക്കയോ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻകഷണ്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുതു.

For you are an holy people unto the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be an exclusive people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു നീ വിശുദ്ധജനമല്ലോ; ഭൂതലത്തിലുള്ള സകലജാതികളിലും വെച്ചു തനിക്കു സ്വന്തജനമായിരിപ്പാൻ യഹോവ നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

You shall not eat any abominable thing.മ്ളേച്ഛമായതൊന്നിനെയും തിന്നരുതു.

These are the beasts which all of you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നാകുന്ന മൃഗങ്ങൾ ആവിതു:

The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.കാള, ചെമ്മരിയാടു, കോലാടു, കലമാൻ, പുള്ളിമാൻ, കടമാൻ, കാട്ടാടു, ചെറുമാൻ മലയാടു കവരിമാൻ.

And every beast that parts the hoof, and cleaves the cleft into two claws, and chews the cud among the beasts, that all of you shall eat.മൃഗങ്ങളിൽ കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നതും കുളമ്പു രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞതും അയവിറക്കുന്നതുമായ മൃഗത്തെ ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നാം.

Nevertheless these all of you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.എന്നാൽ അയവിറക്കുന്നവയിലും കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നവയിലും തിന്നരുതാത്തവ ഏവയെന്നാൽ: ഒട്ടകം, മുയൽ, കുഴി മുയൽ; അവ അയവിറക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നവയല്ല; അവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അശുദ്ധം.

And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet chews not the cud, it is unclean unto you: all of you shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.പന്നി: അതു കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നതെങ്കിലും അയവിറക്കുന്നില്ല; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു അശുദ്ധം ഇവയുടെ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു; പിണം തൊടുകയും അരുതു.

These all of you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall all of you eat:വെള്ളത്തിലുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിലും ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നാം.

And whatsoever has not fins and scales all of you may not eat; it is unclean unto you.എന്നാൽ ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഇല്ലാത്തതൊന്നും തിന്നരുതു; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു അശുദ്ധം.

Of all clean birds all of you shall eat.ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള സകലപക്ഷികളെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നാം.

But these are they of which all of you shall not eat: the eagle, and the vulture, and the buzzard,പക്ഷികളിൽ തിന്നരുതാത്തവ: കടൽറാഞ്ചൻ, ചെമ്പരുന്തു, കഴുകൻ,

And the vulture, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,ചെങ്ങാലിപ്പരുന്തു, ഗൃദ്ധ്രം, അതതുവിധം പരുന്തു

And every raven after his kind,അതതുവിധം കാക്ക,

And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after his kind,ഒട്ടകപക്ഷി, പുള്ളു, കടൽക്കാക്ക, അതതുവിധം പ്രാപ്പിടിയൻ,

The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,നത്തു, ക്കുമൻ മൂങ്ങാ, വേഴാമ്പൽ,

And the pelican, and the carrion vulture, and the cormorant,കുടുമ്മച്ചാത്തൻ, നീർകാക്ക,

And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.പെരുഞാറ, അതതുവിധം കൊകൂ, കുളക്കോഴി, നരിച്ചീർ എന്നിവയാകുന്നു.

And every creeping thing that flies is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.ചിറകുള്ള ഇഴജാതിയൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു അശുദ്ധം; അവയെ തിന്നരുതു.

But of all clean fowls all of you may eat.ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള പക്ഷികളെയൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നാം.

All of you shall not eat of anything that dies of itself: you shall give it unto the stranger that is in your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it unto an foreigner: for you are an holy people unto the LORD your God. You shall not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.താനേ ചത്ത ഒന്നിനെയും തിന്നരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശിക്കു തിന്മാൻ കൊടുക്കാം: അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്നു വിൽക്കാം; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു നീ വിശുദ്ധജനമല്ലോ. ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടിയെ അതിന്റെ തള്ളയുടെ പാലിൽ പാകം ചെയ്യരുതു.

You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year.ആണ്ടുതോറും നിലത്തു വിതെച്ചുണ്ടാകുന്ന എല്ലാവിളവിലും ദശാംശം എടുത്തുവെക്കേണം.

And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your corn, of your wine, and of yours oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഭയപ്പെടുവാൻ പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നീ നിന്റെ ധാന്യത്തിന്റെയും വീഞ്ഞിന്റെയും എണ്ണയുടെയും ദശാംശവും നിന്റെ ആടുമാടുകളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകളെയും അവന്റെ സന്നിധയിൽവെച്ചു തിന്നേണം.

And if the way be too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which the LORD your God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD your God has blessed you:നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം വളരെ അകലെയും അതുകൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം വഴി അതിദൂരവുമായിരുന്നാൽ

Then shall you turn it into money, and bind up the money in yours hand, and shall go unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose:അതു വിറ്റു പണമാക്കി പണം കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം.

²⁶

And you shall bestow that money for whatsoever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you, and yours household,നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ മാടോ ആടോ വീഞ്ഞോ മദ്യമോ ഇങ്ങനെ നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ഏതിനെയും ആ പണം കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങി നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു തിന്നു നീയും നിന്റെ കുടുംബവും സന്തോഷിക്കേണം.

And the Levite that is within your gates; you shall not forsake him; for he has no part nor inheritance with you.നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള ലേവ്യനെ മറന്നു കളയരുതു; അവന്നു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഇല്ലല്ലോ.

At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of yours increase the same year, and shall lay it up within your gates:മുമ്മൂന്നു ആണ്ടു കൂടുമ്പോൾ മൂന്നാം സംവത്സരത്തിൽ നിനക്കുള്ള വിളവിന്റെ ദശാംശം ഒക്കെയും; വേർതിരിച്ചു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ സംഗ്രഹിക്കേണം.

And the Levite, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of yours hand which you do.നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന സകല പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഇല്ലാത്ത ലേവ്യനും നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശിയും അനാഥനും വിധവയും വന്നു തിന്നു തൃപ്തരാകേണം.

Deuteronomy 15

At the end of every seven years you shall make a release.ഏഴേഴു ആണ്ടു കൂടുമ്പോൾ നീ ഒരു വിമോചനം ആചരിക്കേണം.

And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lends ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release.വിമോചനത്തിന്റെ ക്രമം എന്തെന്നാൽ: കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു വായിപ്പകൊടുത്തവനെല്ലാം അതു ഇളെച്ചു കൊടുക്കേണം. യഹോവയുടെ വിമോചനം പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു നീ കൂട്ടുകാരനെയോ സഹോദരനെയോ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കരുതു.

Of a foreigner you may exact it again: but that which is yours with your brother yours hand shall release;അന്യജാതിക്കാരനോടു നിനക്കു മുട്ടിച്ചു പിരിക്കാം; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ തരുവാനുള്ളതു നീ ഇളെച്ചുകൊടുക്കേണം.

Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it:ദരിദ്രൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടാകയില്ലതാനും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു നീ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേട്ടു ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന സകല കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടന്നാൽ

Only if you carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command you this day.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി കൈവശമാക്കുവാൻ തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിന്നെ ഏറ്റവും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

For the LORD your God blesses you, as he promised you: and you shall lend unto many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അനേകം ജാതികൾക്കു വായിപ്പ കൊടുക്കും; എന്നാൽ നീ വായിപ്പ വാങ്ങുകയില്ല; നീ അനേകം ജാതികളെ ഭരിക്കും; എന്നാൽ അവർ നിന്നെ ഭരിക്കയില്ല.

If there be among you a poor man of one of your brethren within any of your gates in your land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not harden yours heart, nor shut yours hand from your poor brother:നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു ഏതു പട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും ദരിദ്രനായ സഹോദരൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ദരിദ്രനായ സഹോദരന്റെ നേരെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം കഠിനമാക്കാതെയും കൈ അടെക്കാതെയും,

But you shall open yours hand wide unto him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wants.നിന്റെ കൈ അവന്നുവേണ്ടി തുറന്നു അവന്നു വന്ന ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിന്നു ആവശ്യമായതു വായിപ്പ കൊടുക്കേണം.

Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and yours eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cry unto the LORD against you, and it be sin unto you.വിമോചനസംവത്സരമായ ഏഴാം ആണ്ടു അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഒരു ദുർവ്വിചാരം തോന്നുകയും ദരിദ്രനായ സഹോദരനോടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നിർദ്ദയമായിരുന്നു അവന്നു ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കയും അവൻ നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചിട്ടു അതു നിനക്കു പാപമായി തീരുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക.

You shall surely give him, and yours heart shall not be grieved when you give unto him: because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put yours hand unto.നീ അവന്നു കൊടുത്തേ മതിയാവു; കൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ വ്യസനം തോന്നരുതു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളിലും സകലപ്രയത്നത്തിലും അതുനിമിത്തം നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying, You shall open yours hand wide unto your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.ദരിദ്രൻ ദേശത്തു അറ്റുപോകയില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു അഗതിയും ദരിദ്രനുമായ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു നിന്റെ കൈ മനസ്സോടെ തുറന്നു കൊടുക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു.

And if your brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto you, and serve you six years; then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഒരു എബ്രായപുരുഷനോ എബ്രായസ്ത്രീയോ നിനക്കു തന്നെത്താൻ വിറ്റിട്ടു ആറു സംവത്സരം നിന്നെ സേവിച്ചാൽ ഏഴാം സംവത്സരത്തിൽ നീ അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം.

And when you send him out free from you, you shall not let him go away empty:അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കുമ്പോൾ അവനെ വെറുങ്കയ്യായിട്ടു അയക്കരുതു.

You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your floor, and out of your winepress: of that wherewith the LORD your God has blessed you you shall give unto him.നിന്റെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിൽനിന്നും കളത്തിൽനിന്നും മുന്തിരിച്ചക്കിൽനിന്നും അവന്നു ഔദാര്യമായി ദാനം ചെയ്യേണം; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നീ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

And you shall remember that you were a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you: therefore I command you this thing to day.നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു എന്നും ഓർക്കേണം. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഇന്നു ഈ കാര്യം നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു.

And it shall be, if he say unto you, I will not go away from you; because he loves you and yours house, because he is well with you;എന്നാൽ അവൻ നിന്നെയും നിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെയും സ്നേഹിക്കകൊണ്ടും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അവന്നു സുഖമുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടും: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകയില്ല എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞാൽ

Then you shall take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be your servant for ever. And also unto your maidservant you shall do likewise.നീ ഒരു സൂചി എടുത്തു അവന്റെ കാതു വാതിലിനോടു ചേർത്തു കുത്തി തുളെക്കേണം; പിന്നെ അവൻ എന്നും നിനക്കു ദാസനായിരിക്കേണം; നിന്റെ ദാസിക്കും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യേണം.

It shall not seem hard unto you, when you send him away free from you; for he has been worth a double hired servant to you, in serving you six years: and the LORD your God shall bless you in all that you do.അവൻ ഒരു കൂലിക്കാരന്റെ ഇരട്ടിക്കൂലിക്കു തക്കതായി ആറു സംവത്സരം നിന്നെ സേവിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കുമ്പോൾ നിനക്കു വ്യസനം തോന്നരുതു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന സകലത്തിലും നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

All the first born males that come of your herd and of your flock you shall sanctify unto the LORD your God: you shall do no work with the first born of your bullock, nor shear the first born of your sheep.നിന്റെ മാടുകളിലും ആടുകളിലും കടിഞ്ഞൂലായി പിറക്കുന്ന ആണിനെ ഒക്കെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണം; നിന്റെ മാടുകളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു വേല ചെയ്യിക്കരുതു; നിന്റെ ആടുകളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിന്റെ രോമം കത്രിക്കയും അരുതു.

You shall eat it before the LORD your God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, you and your household.യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നീയും നിന്റെ കുടുംബവും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വെച്ചു അതിനെ ആണ്ടുതോറും തിന്നേണം.

And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, you shall not sacrifice it unto the LORD your God.എന്നാൽ അതിന്നു മുടന്തോ കുരുടോ ഇങ്ങനെ വല്ല ഊനവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു അതിനെ യാഗം കഴിക്കരുതു.

You shall eat it within your gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽവെച്ചു അതു തിന്നാം; പുള്ളിമാനിനെയും കലമാനിനെയുംപോലെ അശുദ്ധനും ശുദ്ധനും ഒരുപോലെ തിന്നാം.

Only you shall not eat the blood thereof; you shall pour it upon the ground as water.അതിന്റെ രക്തം മാത്രം തിന്നരുതു; അതു വെള്ളംപോലെ നിലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളയേണം.
