Matthew 5

English: And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

Malayalam: അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ മലമേൽ കയറി. അവൻ ഇരുന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

English: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Malayalam: അവൻ തിരുവായ്മൊഴിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

English: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Malayalam: “ആത്മാവിൽ ദരിദ്രരായവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവർക്കുള്ളതു.

English: Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Malayalam: ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു ആശ്വാസം ലഭിക്കും.

English: Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Malayalam: സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കും.

English: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Malayalam: നീതിക്കു വിശന്നു ദാഹിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു തൃപ്തിവരും.

English: Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Malayalam: കരുണയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.

English: Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Malayalam: ഹൃദയ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തെ കാണും.

English: Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Malayalam: സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

English: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Malayalam: നീതിനിമിത്തം ഉപദ്രവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവർക്കുള്ളതു.

English: Blessed are all of you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Malayalam: എന്റെ നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങളെ പഴിക്കയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ തിന്മയും കളവായി പറകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

English: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Malayalam: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഫലം വലുതാകകൊണ്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും അവർ അങ്ങനെതന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

English: All of you are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉപ്പാകുന്നു; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെപോയാൽ അതിന്നു എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു രസം വരുത്താം? പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു മനുഷ്യർ ചവിട്ടുവാൻ അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിന്നും പിന്നെ കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല.

English: All of you are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു; മലമേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പട്ടണം മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ല.

English: Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house.

Malayalam: വിളക്കു കത്തിച്ചു പറയിൻകീഴല്ല തണ്ടിന്മേലത്രെ വെക്കുന്നതു; അപ്പോൾ അതു വീട്ടിലുള്ള എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.

English: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളുടെ നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടു, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ വെളിച്ചം അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ പ്രകാശിക്കട്ടെ.

English: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയൊ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയോ നീക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കരുതു; നീക്കുവാനല്ല നിവർത്തിപ്പാനത്രെ ഞാൻ വന്നതു.

English: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Malayalam: സത്യമായിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുംവരെ സകലവും നിവൃത്തിയാകുവോളം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു വള്ളി എങ്കിലും പുള്ളി എങ്കിലും ഒരുനാളും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല.

English: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ ഈ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ കല്പനകളിൽ ഒന്നു അഴിക്കയും മനുഷ്യരെ അങ്ങനെ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അവയെ ആചരിക്കയും പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നോ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ വലിയവൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

English: For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, all of you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതി ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും പരീശന്മാരുടെയും നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

English: All of you have heard that it was said of them of old time, You shall not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

Malayalam: കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും ആരെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്താൽ ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും എന്നും പൂർവ്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

English: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, You fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Malayalam: ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: സഹോദരനോടു കോപിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും: സഹോദരനോടു നിസ്സാര എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ ന്യായാധിപസഭയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കേണ്ടി വരും; മൂഢാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ അഗ്നിനരകത്തിനു യോഗ്യനാകും.

English: Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has ought against you;

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ സഹോദരന്നു നിന്റെ നേരെ വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു ഓർമ്മവന്നാൽ

English: Leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു അവിടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചേച്ചു, ഒന്നാമതു ചെന്നു സഹോദരനോടു നിരന്നുകൊൾക; പിന്നെ വന്നു നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക.

English: Agree with yours adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടുകൂടെ വഴിയിൽ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ തന്നേ വേഗത്തിൽ അവനോടു ഇണങ്ങിക്കൊൾക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ പ്രതിയോഗി നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന്നും ന്യായാധിപൻ ചേവകന്നും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു നീ തടവിൽ ആയ്പോകും.

English: Verily I say unto you, You shall by no means come out thence, till you have paid the uttermost farthing.

Malayalam: ഒടുവിലത്തെ കാശുപോലും കൊടുത്തു തീരുവോളം നീ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്തു വരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

English: All of you have heard that it was said by them of old time, You shall not commit adultery:

Malayalam: വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

English: But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Malayalam: ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: സ്ത്രീയെ മോഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവളെ നോക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു അവളോടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തുപോയി.

English: And if your right eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ വലങ്കണ്ണു നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനെ ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തിൽ വീഴുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ നിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

English: And if your right hand offend you, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.

Malayalam: വലങ്കൈ നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനെ വെട്ടി എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തിൽ പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

English: It has been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

Malayalam: ആരെങ്കിലും ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാൽ അവൾക്കു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

English: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.

Malayalam: ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: പരസംഗം ഹേതുവായിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം അവളെക്കൊണ്ടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ ആരെങ്കിലും വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചാൽ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: Again, all of you have heard that it has been said by them of old time, You shall not renounce swearing yourself, but shall perform unto the Lord yours oaths:

Malayalam: കള്ളസത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും സത്യം ചെയ്തതു കർത്താവിന്നു നിവർത്തിക്കേണം എന്നും പൂർവ്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

English: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

Malayalam: ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: അശേഷം സത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം;

English: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

Malayalam: ഭൂമിയെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു അവന്റെ പാദപീഠം; യെരൂശലേമിനെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു മഹാരാജാവിന്റെ നഗരം

English: Neither shall you swear by your head, because you can not make one hair white or black.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ തലയെക്കൊണ്ടും സത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു; ഒരു രോമവും വെളുപ്പിപ്പാനോ കറുപ്പിപ്പാനോ നിനക്കു കഴികയില്ലല്ലോ.

English: But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു ഉവ്വു, ഉവ്വു എന്നും ഇല്ല, ഇല്ല എന്നും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതിൽ അധികമായതു ദുഷ്ടനിൽനിന്നു വരുന്നു.

English: All of you have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

Malayalam: കണ്ണിനു പകരം കണ്ണും പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

English: But I say unto you, That all of you resist not evil: but whosoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Malayalam: ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: ദുഷ്ടനോടു എതിർക്കരുതു; നിന്നെ വലത്തെ ചെകിട്ടത്തു അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു മറ്റേതും തിരിച്ചുകാണിക്ക.

English: And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.

Malayalam: നിന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിച്ചു നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനു നിന്റെ പുതപ്പും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്ക.

English: And whosoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two.

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തൻ നിന്നെ ഒരു നാഴിക വഴി പോകുവാൻ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചാൽ രണ്ടു അവനോടുകൂടെ പോക.

English: Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you turn not you away.

Malayalam: നിന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവനു കൊടുക്ക; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയരുതു.

English: All of you have heard that it has been said, You shall love your neighbour, and hate yours enemy.

Malayalam: കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നും ശത്രുവിനെ പകെക്ക എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

English: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Malayalam: ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പിൻ;

English: That all of you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Malayalam: സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്നു പുത്രന്മാരായി തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവൻ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെമേലും നല്ലവരുടെമേലും തന്റെ സൂര്യനെ ഉദിപ്പിക്കയും നീതിമാന്മാരുടെമേലും നീതികെട്ടവരുടെ മേലും മഴപെയ്യിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

English: For if all of you love them which love you, what reward have all of you? do not even the publicans the same?

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു പ്രതിഫലം? ചുങ്കക്കാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

English: And if all of you salute your brethren only, what do all of you more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Malayalam: സഹോദരന്മാരെ മാത്രം വന്ദനം ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു വിശേഷം ചെയ്യുന്നു? ജാതികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

English: Be all of you therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വർഗ്ഗീയപിതാവു സൽഗുണപൂർണ്ണൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും സൽഗുണപൂർണ്ണരാകുവിൻ.”
