Zechariah 1

English: In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

Malayalam: ദാർയ്യാവേശിന്റെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടു എട്ടാം മാസത്തിൽ ഇദ്ദോ പ്രവാചകന്റെ മകനായ ബെരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖർയ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

English: The LORD has been sore displeased with your fathers.

Malayalam: യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അത്യന്തം കോപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Therefore say you unto them, Thus says the LORD of hosts; Turn all of you unto me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, says the LORD of hosts.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിവിൻ എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കും തിരിയും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: Be all of you not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; Turn all of you now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, says the LORD.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ആയിത്തീരരുതു; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെയും ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തികളെയും വിട്ടുതിരിവിൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെ പണ്ടത്തെ പ്രവാചകന്മാർ അവരോടു പ്രസംഗിച്ചിട്ടും അവർ കേൾക്കയോ എനിക്കു ചെവി തരികയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എവിടെ? പ്രവാചകന്മാർ സദാകാലം ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമോ?

English: But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so has he dealt with us.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ച വചനങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ തുടർന്നുപിടിച്ചില്ലയോ? ഞങ്ങളുടെ വഴികൾക്കും പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും തക്കവണ്ണം സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിരൂപിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവൻ ഞങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവർ മനംതിരിഞ്ഞു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ?

English: Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

Malayalam: ദാർയ്യാവേശിന്റെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ ശെബാത്ത് മാസമായ പതിനൊന്നാം മാസം, ഇരുപത്തു നാലാം തിയ്യതി, ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ മകനായ ബെരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖർയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

English: I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ രാത്രിയിൽ ചുവന്ന കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പുരുഷനെ കണ്ടു; അവൻ ചോലയിലെ കൊഴുന്തുകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു; അവന്റെ പിമ്പിൽ ചുവപ്പും കുരാൽനിറവും വെണ്മയും ഉള്ള കുതിരകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show you what these be.

Malayalam: യജമാനനേ, ഇവർ ആരാകുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു എന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ദൂതൻ: ഇവർ ആരെന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരാം എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD has sent to walk back and forth through the earth.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ കൊഴുന്തുകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്ന പുരുഷൻ: ഇവർ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഊടാടി സഞ്ചരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർ തന്നേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked back and forth through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sits still, and is at rest.

Malayalam: അവർ കൊഴുന്തുകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഊടാടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു, സർവ്വഭൂമിയും സ്വസ്ഥമായി വിശ്രമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these threescore and ten years?

Malayalam: എന്നാറെ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, ഈ എഴുപതു സംവത്സരം നീ ക്രൂദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന യെരൂശലേമിനോടും യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളോടും നീ എത്രത്തോളം കരുണ കാണിക്കാതിരിക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

English: And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ദൂതനോടു നല്ല വാക്കും ആശ്വാസകരമായ വാക്കും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

English: So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry you, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

Malayalam: എന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ദൂതൻ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിന്നും സീയോന്നും വേണ്ടി മഹാ തീക്ഷ്ണതയോടെ എരിയുന്നു.

English: And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ അല്പം മാത്രം കോപിച്ചിരിക്കെ അവർ അനർത്ഥത്തിന്നായി സഹായിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികളോടു ഞാൻ അത്യന്തം കോപിക്കുന്നു.

English: Therefore thus says the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, says the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ കരുണയോടെ യെരൂശലേമിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ആലയം അതിൽ പണിയും; യെരൂശലേമിന്മേൽ അളവുനൂൽ പിടിക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: Cry yet, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

Malayalam: നീ ഇനിയും പ്രസംഗിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതു: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ഇനിയും അഭിവൃദ്ധിഹേതുവായി വിശാലത പ്രാപിക്കും; യഹോവ ഇനിയും സീയോനെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കയും ഇനിയും യെരൂശലേമിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

English: Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ തല പൊക്കി നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ നാലു കൊമ്പു കണ്ടു.

English: And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

Malayalam: എന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ദൂതനോടു: ഇവ എന്താകുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ എന്നോടു: ഇവ യെഹൂദയെയും യിസ്രായേലിനെയും യെരൂശലേമിനെയും ചിതറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ കൊമ്പുകൾ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And the LORD showed me four carpenters.

Malayalam: യഹോവ എനിക്കു നാലു കൊല്ലന്മാരെ കാണിച്ചുതന്നു.

English: Then said I, What come these to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to frighten them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

Malayalam: ഇവർ എന്തുചെയ്‍വാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ: ആരും തല ഉയർത്താതവണ്ണം യെഹൂദയെ ചിതറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ കൊമ്പുകളാകുന്നു അവ; ഇവരോ യെഹൂദാദേശത്തെ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു കൊമ്പുയർത്തിയ ജാതികളുടെ കൊമ്പുകളെ തള്ളിയിട്ടു അവരെ പേടിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
