Job 31

English: I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

Malayalam: ഞാൻ എന്റെ കണ്ണുമായി ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു; പിന്നെ ഞാൻ ഒരു കന്യകയെ നോക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

English: For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ മേലിൽനിന്നു ദൈവം നല്കുന്ന ഓഹരിയും ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു സർവ്വശക്തൻ തരുന്ന അവകാശവും എന്തു?

English: Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

Malayalam: നീതികെട്ടവന്നു അപായവും ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാർക്കു വിപത്തുമല്ലയോ?

English: Does not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

Malayalam: എന്റെ വഴികളെ അവൻ കാണുന്നില്ലയോ? എന്റെ കാലടികളെയൊക്കെയും എണ്ണുന്നില്ലയോ?

English: If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot has hasted to deceit;

Malayalam: ഞാൻ കപടത്തിൽ നടന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ കാൽ വഞ്ചനെക്കു ഓടിയെങ്കിൽ -

English: Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

Malayalam: ദൈവം എന്റെ പരമാർത്ഥത അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒത്ത ത്രാസിൽ എന്നെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ -

English: If my step has turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot has cleaved to mine hands;

Malayalam: എന്റെ കാലടി വഴിവിട്ടു മാറിയെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു പിന്തുടർന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, വല്ല കറയും എന്റെ കൈക്കു പറ്റിയെങ്കിൽ,

English: Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ വിതെച്ചതു മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ തിന്നട്ടെ; എന്റെ സന്തതിക്കു മൂലനാശം ഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

English: If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;

Malayalam: എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഒരു സ്ത്രീയിങ്കൽ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോയെങ്കിൽ, കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ ഞാൻ പതിയിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ,

English: Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

Malayalam: എന്റെ ഭാര്യ മറ്റൊരുത്തന്നു മാവു പൊടിക്കട്ടെ; അന്യർ അവളുടെ മേൽ കുനിയട്ടെ.

English: For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

Malayalam: അതു മഹാപാതകമല്ലോ, ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ ശിക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന കുറ്റമത്രേ;

English: For it is a fire that consumes to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

Malayalam: അതു നരകപര്യന്തം ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തീയാകുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ അനുഭവം ഒക്കെയും നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കും.

English: If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;

Malayalam: എന്റെ ദാസനോ ദാസിയോ എന്നോടു വാദിച്ചിട്ടു ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ന്യായം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞെങ്കിൽ,

English: What then shall I do when God rises up? and when he visits, what shall I answer him?

Malayalam: ദൈവം എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യും? അവൻ സന്ദർശിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എന്തുത്തരം പറയും?

English: Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

Malayalam: ഗർഭത്തിൽ എന്നെ ഉരുവാക്കിയവനല്ലയോ അവനെയും ഉരുവാക്കിയതു? ഉദരത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളെ നിർമ്മിച്ചതു ഒരുത്തനല്ലയോ?

English: If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

Malayalam: ദരിദ്രന്മാരുടെ ആഗ്രഹം ഞാൻ മുടക്കിയെങ്കിൽ, വിധവയുടെ കണ്ണു ഞാൻ ക്ഷീണിപ്പിച്ചെങ്കിൽ,

English: Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless has not eaten thereof;

Malayalam: അനാഥന്നു അംശം കൊടുക്കാതെ ഞാൻ തനിച്ചു എന്റെ ആഹാരം കഴിച്ചെങ്കിൽ -

English: (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;)

Malayalam: ബാല്യംമുതൽ ഞാൻ അപ്പൻ എന്നപോലെ അവനെ വളർത്തുകയും ജനിച്ചതുമുതൽ അവളെ പരിപാലിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ -

English: If I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or any poor without covering;

Malayalam: ഒരുത്തൻ വസ്ത്രമില്ലാതെ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നതോ ദരിദ്രൻ പുതപ്പില്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതോ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടു

English: If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

Malayalam: അവന്റെ അര എന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ ആടുകളുടെ രോമംകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു കുളിർ മാറിയില്ലെങ്കിൽ,

English: If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:

Malayalam: പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ എനിക്കു സഹായം കണ്ടിട്ടു ഞാൻ അനാഥന്റെ നേരെ കയ്യോങ്ങിയെങ്കിൽ,

English: Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

Malayalam: എന്റെ ഭുജം തോൾപലകയിൽനിന്നു വീഴട്ടെ; എന്റെ കയ്യുടെ ഏപ്പു വിട്ടുപോകട്ടെ.

English: For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

Malayalam: ദൈവം അയച്ച വിപത്തു എനിക്കു ഭയങ്കരമായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഓന്നത്യംനിമിത്തം എനിക്കു ആവതില്ലാതെയായി.

English: If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, You are my confidence;

Malayalam: ഞാൻ പൊന്നു എന്റെ ശരണമാക്കിയെങ്കിൽ, തങ്കത്തോടു നീ എന്റെ ആശ്രയം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുവെങ്കിൽ,

English: If I rejoice because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had got much;

Malayalam: എന്റെ ധനം വളരെയായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും എന്റെ കൈ അധികം സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ സന്തോഷിച്ചുവെങ്കിൽ,

English: If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;

Malayalam: സൂര്യൻ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതോ ചന്ദ്രൻ ശോഭയോടെ ഗമിക്കുന്നതോ കണ്ടിട്ടു

English: And my heart has been secretly enticed, or my mouth has kissed my hand:

Malayalam: എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഗൂഢമായി വശീകരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും എന്റെ വായി എന്റെ കയ്യെ ചുംബിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവെങ്കിൽ,

English: This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

Malayalam: അതു ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ ശിക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന കുറ്റം അത്രെ; അതിനാൽ ഉയരത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തെ ഞാൻ നിഷേധിച്ചു എന്നു വരുമല്ലോ.

English: If I rejoice at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:

Malayalam: എന്റെ വൈരിയുടെ നാശത്തിങ്കൽ ഞാൻ സന്തോഷിക്കയോ, അവന്റെ അനർത്ഥത്തിങ്കൽ ഞാൻ നിഗളിക്കയോ ചെയ്തു എങ്കിൽ--

English: Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ പ്രാണനാശം ഇച്ഛിച്ചു ഞാൻ ശാപം ചൊല്ലി പാപം ചെയ്‍വാൻ എന്റെ വായെ ഒരിക്കലും സമ്മതിച്ചിട്ടില്ല--

English: If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ മേശെക്കൽ മാംസം തിന്നു തൃപ്തി വരാത്തവർ ആർ

English: The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveller.

Malayalam: എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലെ ആളുകൾ പറഞ്ഞില്ലെങ്കിൽ -- പരദേശി തെരുവീഥിയിൽ രാപ്പാർക്കേണ്ടിവന്നിട്ടില്ല; വഴിപോക്കന്നു ഞാൻ എന്റെ വാതിൽ തുറന്നുകൊടുത്തു--

English: If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ആദാമിനെപ്പോലെ എന്റെ ലംഘനം മൂടി എന്റെ അകൃത്യം മാർവ്വിടത്തു മറെച്ചുവെച്ചെങ്കിൽ,

English: Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?

Malayalam: മഹാപുരുഷാരത്തെ ശങ്കിക്കകൊണ്ടും വംശക്കാരുടെ നിന്ദ എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ വാതിലിന്നു പുറത്തിറങ്ങാതെ മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ--

English: Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.

Malayalam: അയ്യോ, എന്റെ സങ്കടം കേൾക്കുന്നവൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു!- ഇതാ, എന്റെ ഒപ്പു! സർവ്വശക്തൻ എനിക്കുത്തരം നല്കുമാറാകട്ടെ. എന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗി എഴുതിയ അന്യായ രേഖ കിട്ടിയെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു!

English: Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

Malayalam: അതു ഞാൻ എന്റെ ചുമലിൽ വഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഒരു മകുടമായിട്ടു അതു അണിയുമായിരുന്നു.

English: I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.

Malayalam: എന്റെ കാലടികളുടെ എണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവനെ ബോധിപ്പിക്കും; ഒരു പ്രഭു എന്നപോലെ ഞാൻ അവനോടു അടുക്കും.

English: If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain;

Malayalam: എന്റെ നിലം എന്റെ നേരെ നിലവിളിക്കയോ അതിന്റെ ഉഴച്ചാലുകൾ ഒന്നിച്ചു കരകയോ ചെയ്തുവെങ്കിൽ,

English: If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

Malayalam: വിലകൊടുക്കാതെ ഞാൻ അതിന്റെ വിളവു തിന്നുകയോ അതിന്റെ ഉടമക്കാരുടെ പ്രാണൻ പോകുവാൻ സംഗതിയാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തു എങ്കിൽ,

English: Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.

Malayalam: കോതമ്പിന്നു പകരം കാരമുള്ളും യവത്തിന്നു പകരം കളയും മുളെച്ചുവളരട്ടെ. (ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ അവസാനിച്ചു.)
