Genesis 32

English: And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോയി; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാർ അവന്റെ എതിരെ വന്നു.

English: And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ് അവരെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: ഇതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സേന എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു മഹനയീം എന്നു പേർ ഇട്ടു.

English: And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം യാക്കോബ് എദോംനാടായ സേയീർദേശത്തു തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ തനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു.

English: And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall all of you speak unto my lord Esau; Your servant Jacob says thus, I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed there until now:

Malayalam: അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: എന്റെ യജമാനനായ ഏശാവിനോടു ഇങ്ങനെ പറവിൻ: നിന്റെ അടിയാൻ യാക്കോബ് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു: ഞാൻ ലാബാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പരദേശിയായി പാർത്തു ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ താമസിച്ചു.

English: And I have oxen, and asses, flocks, and male servants, and female servants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in your sight.

Malayalam: എനിക്കു കാളയും കഴുതയും ആടും ദാസീദാസന്മാരും ഉണ്ടു; നിനക്കു എന്നൊടു കൃപ തോന്നേണ്ടതിന്നാകുന്നു യജമാനനെ അറിയിപ്പാൻ ആളയക്കുന്നതു.

English: And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to your brother Esau, and also he comes to meet you, and four hundred men with him.

Malayalam: ദൂതന്മാർ യാക്കോബിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങി വന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി വന്നു; അവൻ നാനൂറു ആളുമായി നിന്നെ എതിരേല്പാൻ വരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands;

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബ് ഏറ്റവും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ഭയവശനായി, തന്നോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജനത്തെയും ആടുകളെയും കന്നുകാലികളെയും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെയും രണ്ടു കൂട്ടമായി വിഭാഗിച്ചു.

English: And said, If Esau come to the one company, and strike it, then the other company which is left shall escape.

Malayalam: ഏശാവ് ഒരു കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു അതിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചാൽ മറ്റേ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോകാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which said unto me, Return unto your country, and to your kindred, and I will deal well with you:

Malayalam: പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചതു: എന്റെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും എന്റെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവുമായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്റെ ദേശത്തേക്കും നിന്റെ ചാർച്ചക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കും മടങ്ങിപ്പോക; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നന്മ ചെയ്യുമെന്നു എന്നൊടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത യഹോവേ,

English: I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which you have showed unto your servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.

Malayalam: അടിയനോടു കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സകലദയെക്കും സകലവിശ്വസ്തതെക്കും ഞാൻ അപാത്രമത്രേ; ഒരു വടിയോടുകൂടെ മാത്രമല്ലോ ഞാൻ ഈ യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നതു; ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞാൻ രണ്ടു കൂട്ടമായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Deliver me, I pray you, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and strike me, and the mother with the children.

Malayalam: എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; പക്ഷേ അവൻ വന്നു എന്നെയും മക്കളോടുകൂടെ തള്ളയെയും നശിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

English: And you said, I will surely do you good, and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

Malayalam: നീയോ: ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു നന്മ ചെയ്യും; നിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു എണ്ണിക്കൂടാത്ത കടൽകരയിലെ മണൽപോലെ ആക്കുമെന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

English: And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother;

Malayalam: അന്നു രാത്രി അവൻ അവിടെ പാർത്തു; തന്റെ പക്കൽ ഉള്ളതിൽ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിന്നു സമ്മാനമായിട്ടു

English: Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams,

Malayalam: ഇരുനൂറു കോലാടിനെയും ഇരുപതു കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഇരുനൂറു ചെമ്മരിയാടിനെയും ഇരുപതു ചെമ്മരിയാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും

English: Thirty milk giving camels with their colts, forty cattle, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.

Malayalam: കറവുള്ള മുപ്പതു ഒട്ടകത്തെയും അവയുടെ കുട്ടികളെയും നാല്പതു പശുവിനെയും പത്തു കാളയെയും ഇരുപതു പെൺകഴുതയെയും പത്തു കഴുതക്കുട്ടിയെയും വേർതിരിച്ചു.

English: And he delivered them into the hand of his servants, every drove by themselves; and said unto his servants, Pass over before me, and put a space between drove and drove.

Malayalam: തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ പക്കൽ ഓരോ കൂട്ടത്തെപ്രത്യേകം പ്രത്യേകമായി ഏല്പിച്ചു, തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു മുമ്പായി കടന്നുപോയി അതതു കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു മദ്ധ്യേ ഇടയിടുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he commanded the foremost, saying, When Esau my brother meet you, and asks you, saying, Whose are you? and where go you? and whose are these before you?

Malayalam: ഒന്നാമതു പോകുന്നവനോടു അവൻ: എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവ് നിന്നെ കണ്ടു: നീ ആരുടെ ആൾ? എവിടെ പോകുന്നു? നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ പോകുന്ന ഇവ ആരുടെ വക എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചാൽ:

English: Then you shall say, They be your servant Jacob's; it is a present sent unto my lord Esau: and, behold, also he is behind us.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ അടിയാൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ വക ആകുന്നു; ഇതു യജമാനനായ ഏശാവിന്നു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സമ്മാനം; അതാ, അവനും പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു എന്നു നീ പറയേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

English: And so commanded he the second, and the third, and all that followed the droves, saying, On this manner shall all of you speak unto Esau, when all of you find him.

Malayalam: രണ്ടാമത്തവനോടും മൂന്നാമത്തവനോടും കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്ന എല്ലാവരോടും: നിങ്ങൾ ഏശാവിനെ കാണുമ്പോൾ ഇപ്രകാരം അവനോടുപറവിൻ;

English: And say all of you moreover, Behold, your servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goes before me, and afterward I will see his face; possibly he will accept of me.

Malayalam: അതാ, നിന്റെ അടിയാൻ യാക്കോബ് പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു എന്നും പറവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു. എനിക്കു മുമ്പായിപോകുന്ന സമ്മാനംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ ശാന്തമാക്കീട്ടു പിന്നെ ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മുഖം കണ്ടുകൊള്ളാം; പക്ഷേ അവന്നു എന്നോടു ദയ തോന്നുമായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So went the present over before him: and himself lodged that night in the company.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ സമ്മാനം അവന്റെ മുമ്പായി പോയി; അവനോ അന്നു രാത്രി കൂട്ടത്തോടുകൂടെ പാർത്തു.

English: And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.

Malayalam: രാത്രിയിൽ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു. തന്റെ രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാരെയും രണ്ടു ദാസിമാരെയും പതിനൊന്നു പുത്രന്മാരയും കൂട്ടി യാബ്ബോക്ക് കടവു കടന്നു.

English: And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ അവൻ അവരെ കൂട്ടി ആറ്റിന്നക്കരെ കടത്തി; തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും അക്കരെ കടത്തിയശേഷം യാക്കോബ് തനിയേ ശേഷിച്ചു;

English: And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഉഷസ്സാകുവോളം അവനോടു മല്ലു പിടിച്ചു.

English: And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

Malayalam: അവനെ ജയിക്കയില്ല എന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവൻ അവന്റെ തുടയുടെ തടം തൊട്ടു; ആകയാൽ അവനോടു മല്ലുപിടിക്കയിൽ യാക്കോബിന്റെ തുടയുടെ തടം ഉളുക്കിപ്പോയി.

English: And he said, Let me go, for the day breaks. And he said, I will not let you go, except you bless me.

Malayalam: എന്നെ വിടുക; ഉഷസ്സു ഉദിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: നീ എന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിടുകയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he said unto him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ പേർ എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: യാക്കോബ് എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he said, Your name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince have you power with God and with men, and have prevailed.

Malayalam: നീ ദൈവത്തോടും മനുഷ്യരോടും മല്ലുപിടിച്ചു ജയിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ പേർ ഇനി യാക്കോബ് എന്നല്ല യിസ്രായേൽ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray you, your name. And he said, Wherefore is it that you do ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

Malayalam: യാക്കോബ് അവനോടു: നിന്റെ പേർ എനിക്കു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു: നീ എന്റെ പേർ ചോദിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു, അവിടെവെച്ചു അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

English: And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തെ മുഖാമുഖമായി കണ്ടിട്ടും എനിക്കു ജീവഹാനി വിന്നില്ല എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു, ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു പെനീയേൽ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

English: And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.

Malayalam: അവൻ പെനീയേൽ കടന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ സൂര്യൻ ഉദിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ തുടയുടെ ഉളുക്കുനിമിത്തം അവൻ മുടന്തിനടന്നു.

English: Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.

Malayalam: അവൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ തുടയുടെ തടത്തിലെ ഞരമ്പു തൊടുകകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ഇന്നുവരെയും തുടയുടെ തടത്തിലെ ഞരമ്പു തിന്നാറില്ല.
