Acts 27

English: And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.

Malayalam: ഞങ്ങൾ കപ്പൽ കയറി ഇതല്യെക്കു പോകേണം എന്നു കല്പനയായപ്പോൾ പൌലൊസിനെയും മറ്റു ചില തടവുകാരെയും ഔഗുസ്ത്യപട്ടാളത്തിലെ ശതാധിപനായ യൂലിയൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

English: And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങൾ ആസ്യക്കര പറ്റി ഓടുവാനുള്ള ഒരു അദ്രമുത്ത്യകപ്പലിൽ കയറി നീക്കി; തെസ്സലൊനിക്കയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള മക്കെദോന്യക്കാരനായ അരിസ്തർഹൊസും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously pleaded Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

Malayalam: പിറ്റെന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ സീദോനിൽ എത്തി; യൂലിയൊസ് പൌലൊസിനോടു ദയ കാണിച്ചു, സ്നേഹിതന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി സൽക്കാരം കൈക്കൊൾവാൻ അനുവദിച്ചു.

English: And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

Malayalam: അവിടെ നിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ നീക്കി, കാറ്റു പ്രതികൂലമാകയാൽ കുപ്രൊസ് ദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ഓടി;

English: And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.

Malayalam: കിലിക്യ പംഫുല്യ കടൽവഴിയായി ചെന്നു ലുക്കിയയിലെ മുറാപ്പട്ടണത്തിൽ എത്തി.

English: And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

Malayalam: അവിടെ ശതാധിപൻ ഇതല്യെക്കു പോകുന്ന ഒരു അലെക്സന്ത്രിയക്കപ്പൽ കണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ അതിൽ കയറ്റി.

English: And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come opposite to Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, opposite to Salmone;

Malayalam: പിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ ബഹുദിവസം പതുക്കെ ഓടി, ക്നീദൊസ് തൂക്കിൽ പ്രയാസത്തോടെ എത്തി, കാറ്റു സമ്മതിക്കായ്കയാൽ ക്രേത്തദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ശല്മോനെക്കു നേരെ ഓടി,

English: And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh unto which was the city of Lasea.

Malayalam: കരപറ്റി പ്രയാസത്തോടെ ലസയ്യപട്ടണത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്തു ശുഭതുറമുഖം എന്നു പേരുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തി.

English: Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

Malayalam: ഇങ്ങനെ വളരെ നാൾ ചെന്നശേഷം നോമ്പും കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ കപ്പലോട്ടം വൈഷമ്യം ആകകൊണ്ടു പൌലൊസ്:

English: And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

Malayalam: പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഈ യാത്രയിൽ ചരക്കിന്നും കപ്പലിന്നും മാത്രമല്ല നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണങ്ങൾക്കും ഏറിയ കഷ്ടനഷ്ടങ്ങൾ വരും എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

English: Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

Malayalam: ശതാധിപനോ പൌലൊസ് പറഞ്ഞതിനെക്കാൾ മാലുമിയുടെയും കപ്പലുടമസ്ഥന്റെയും വാക്കു അധികം വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

English: And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lies toward the south west and north west.

Malayalam: ആ തുറമുഖം ശീതകാലം കഴിപ്പാൻ തക്കതല്ലായ്കയാൽ അവിടെ നിന്നു നീക്കി തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായും വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായും തുറന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന ഫൊയ്നീക്യ എന്ന ക്രേത്തതുറമുഖത്തു കഴിവുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ചെന്നു ശീതകാലം കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു മിക്കപേരും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

Malayalam: തെക്കൻ കാറ്റു മന്ദമായി ഊതുകയാൽ താല്പര്യം സാധിച്ചു എന്നു തോന്നി, അവർ അവിടെ നിന്നു നങ്കൂരം എടുത്തു ക്രേത്ത ദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ഓടി.

English: But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

Malayalam: കുറെ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി ഈശാനമൂലൻ എന്ന കൊടങ്കാറ്റു അടിച്ചു.

English: And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

Malayalam: കപ്പൽ കാറ്റിന്റെ നേരെ നില്പാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം കുടുങ്ങുകയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ കൈവിട്ടു അങ്ങനെ പാറിപ്പോയി.

English: And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

Malayalam: ക്ളൌദ എന്ന ചെറിയ ദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ഓടീട്ടു പ്രയാസത്തോടെ തോണി കൈവശമാക്കി.

English: Which when they had taken up, they used support cables, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksand, strake sail, and so were driven.

Malayalam: അതു വലിച്ചുകയറ്റീട്ടു അവർ കപ്പൽ ചുറ്റിക്കെട്ടിയും മറ്റും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തി; പിന്നെ മണത്തിട്ടമേൽ അകപ്പെടും എന്നു പേടിച്ചു പായി ഇറക്കി അങ്ങനെ പാറിപ്പോയി.

English: And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

Malayalam: ഞങ്ങൾ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിനാൽ അത്യന്തം അലയുകകൊണ്ടു പിറ്റെന്നു അവർ ചരക്കു പുറത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

English: And the third day we cast out with our own hands the cordage of the ship.

Malayalam: മൂന്നാം നാൾ അവർ സ്വന്തകയ്യാൽ കപ്പൽകോപ്പും കടലിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

English: And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

Malayalam: വളരെ നാളായിട്ടു സൂര്യനെയോ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയോ കാണാതെയും വല്ലാത്ത കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു അടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും ഇരിക്കയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ രക്ഷപ്പെടും എന്നുള്ള ആശ ഒക്കെയും അറ്റുപോയി.

English: But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, all of you should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

Malayalam: അവർ വളരെ പട്ടിണി കിടന്നശേഷം പൌലോസ് അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞതു: പുരുഷന്മാരേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു അനുസരിച്ചു ക്രേത്തയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കാതെയും ഈ കഷ്ട നഷ്ടങ്ങൾ സമ്പാദിക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു.

English: And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.

Malayalam: എങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോൾ ധൈര്യത്തോടിരിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; കപ്പലിന്നു അല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരുടെയും പ്രാണന്നു ഹാനി വരികയില്ല.

English: For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

Malayalam: എന്റെ ഉടയവനും ഞാൻ സേവിച്ചുവരുന്നവനുമായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതൻ ഈ രാത്രിയിൽ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു:

English: Saying, Fear not, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God has given you all them that sail with you.

Malayalam: പൌലൊസേ, ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നീ കൈസരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; നിന്നോടുകൂടെ യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നിനക്കു ദാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ധൈര്യത്തോടിരിപ്പിൻ; എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു പോലെ തന്നേ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

English: Nevertheless we must be cast upon a certain island.

Malayalam: എങ്കിലും നാം ഒരു ദ്വീപിന്മേൽ മുട്ടി വീഴേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

English: But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the sailors deemed that they drew near to some country;

Malayalam: പതിന്നാലാം രാത്രിയായപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ അദ്രിയക്കടലിൽ അലയുന്നേരം അർദ്ധരാത്രിയിൽ ഒരു കരെക്കു സമീപിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കപ്പൽക്കാർക്കു തോന്നി.

English: And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

Malayalam: അവർ ഈയം ഇട്ടു ഇരുപതു മാറെന്നു കണ്ടു കുറയ അപ്പുറം പോയിട്ടു വീണ്ടും ഈയം ഇട്ടു പതിനഞ്ചു മറ്റൊന്നു കണ്ടു.

English: Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

Malayalam: പാറ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ അകപ്പെടും എന്നു പേടിച്ചു അവർ അമരത്തു നിന്നു നാലു നങ്കൂരം ഇട്ടു, നേരം വെളുപ്പാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

English: And as the sailors were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the bow,

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ കപ്പൽക്കാർ കപ്പൽ വിട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോകുവാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു അണിയത്തുനിന്നു നങ്കൂരം ഇടുവാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നുള്ള ഭാവത്തിൽ തോണി കടലിൽ ഇറക്കി.

English: Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, all of you cannot be saved.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ പൌലൊസ് ശതാധിപനോടും പടയാളികളോടും: ഇവർ കപ്പലിൽ താമസിച്ചല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു രക്ഷപ്പെടുവാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

Malayalam: പടയാളികൾ തോണിയുടെ കയറു അറുത്തു അതു വീഴിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

English: And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take food, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that all of you have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

Malayalam: നേരം വെളുക്കാറായപ്പോൾ പൌലൊസ് എല്ലാവരോടും ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിക്കാതെ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു പട്ടിണി കിടക്കുന്നതു ഇന്നു പതിന്നാലാം ദിവസം ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.

English: Wherefore I pray you to take some food: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു ആഹാരം കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; അതു നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷെക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ; നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുത്തന്റെയും തലയിലെ ഒരു രോമംപോലും നഷ്ടമാകയില്ല നിശ്ചയം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

Malayalam: ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അപ്പം എടുത്തു എല്ലാവരും കാൺകെ ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിട്ടു നുറുക്കി തിന്നുതുടങ്ങി.

English: Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some food.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ എല്ലാവരും ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.

English: And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

Malayalam: കപ്പലിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ആകപ്പാടെ ഇരുനൂറ്റെഴുപത്താറു ആൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

Malayalam: അവർ തിന്നു തൃപ്തിവന്നശേഷം ധാന്യം കടലിൽ കളഞ്ഞു കപ്പലിന്റെ ഭാരം കുറെച്ചു.

English: And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

Malayalam: വെളിച്ചമായപ്പോൾ ഇന്ന ദേശം എന്നു അവർ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല എങ്കിലും കരയുള്ളോരു തുറ കണ്ടു, കഴിയും എങ്കിൽ കപ്പൽ അതിലേക്കു ഓടിക്കേണം എന്നു ഭാവിച്ചു.

English: And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

Malayalam: നങ്കൂരം അറുത്തു കടലിൽ വിട്ടു ചുക്കാന്റെ കെട്ടും അഴിച്ചു പെരുമ്പായ് കാറ്റുമുഖമായി കൊടുത്തു കരെക്കു നേരെ ഓടി.

English: And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the front part stuck fast, and remained immoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

Malayalam: ഇരുകടൽ കൂടിയോരു സ്ഥലത്തിന്മേൽ ചെന്നു കയറുകയാൽ കപ്പൽ അടിഞ്ഞു അണിയം ഉറെച്ചു ഇളക്കമില്ലാതെയായി; അമരം തിരയുടെ കേമത്താൽ ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയി.

English: And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

Malayalam: തടവുകാരിൽ ആരും നീന്തി ഓടിപ്പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവരെ കൊല്ലേണം എന്നു പടയാളികൾ ആലോചിച്ചു.

English: But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

Malayalam: ശതാധിപനോ പൌലൊസിനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടു അവരുടെ താല്പര്യം തടുത്തു, നീന്തുവാൻ കഴിയുന്നവർ ആദ്യം ചാടി കരെക്കു പറ്റുവാനും

English: And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

Malayalam: ശേഷമുള്ളവർ പലകമേലും കപ്പലിന്റെ ഖണ്ഡങ്ങളുടെ മേലുമായി എത്തുവാനും കല്പിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ എല്ലാവരും കരയിൽ എത്തി രക്ഷപ്പെടുവാൻ സംഗതിവന്നു.
